The 2014 Hyundai Elantra's purge valve is situated near the rear of the muffler by the fuel tank. Its purpose is to release fumes from the fuel tank to prevent pressure buildup. If the purge valve malfunctions, the check engine light will illuminate to alert you of an issue. A vacuum leak may occur if the valve is stuck open, while high pressures may be detected if it is stuck closed.
