In the 2006 Chevy Equinox, you'll find the radiator cap located on the expansion tank, rather than on the radiator itself. Unlike many older cars, the radiator in this model is sealed without a cap. The expansion tank cap serves as the point for checking coolant levels and adding coolant if needed. This design provides a safer method for accessing coolant since the expansion tank is less likely to have high pressure buildup compared to the radiator. Removing the radiator cap on older models could be risky as the coolant inside is often boiling and under significant pressure.
The yellow-colored radiator cap for the 2006 Chevy Equinox can be found in front of the engine, under the battery box.
