If you own a Toyota Prius and it's equipped with a spare tire, you can find it located under the rear cargo area. However, some models in recent years may not include a spare tire at all. Many people tend to overlook the presence of a spare tire until the moment they actually need it. Discovering that the spare tire you assumed was in the trunk is not there during a flat tire situation can be quite inconvenient. Traditionally, drivers have always expected spare tires to be a standard feature in new cars, but the automotive industry is moving away from this norm. According to AAA, over a third of new car models are now being sold without a spare tire, as automakers are focusing on reducing weight to meet fuel efficiency requirements.
My 2020 all-wheel-drive Prius doesn't come with a spare tire. The temporary repair patch didn't fix my flat tire. According to the tow truck driver, the patch kits often don't work. They are asking for nearly $100 for a new patch kit. Am I the only one who believes that investing in an emergency spare tire would be more economical than continually buying $100 patch kits?
I can guarantee you, sitting here on the highway, that the 2017 Toyota touring model does not come equipped with a spare tire.
I'm sorry to inform you that as of 2015, the Toyota Prius no longer comes equipped with a spare tire. In the event of a flat tire, you will need to contact roadside assistance for help. It's worth noting that earlier models of the Prius did include a spare tire.
My 2019 Toyota Prius doesn't come with a spare tire in the storage area. Instead, it includes a jack, tire-changing tools, and some fix-a-flat solution for flat tires.
The Toyota Prius is equipped with a backup tire located beneath the rear storage compartment.
I can confirm that the 2020 Prius does not come with a spare tire! Despite the owner's manual mentioning a spare in the cargo area, if there is one, it's likely hidden under the large battery pack located at the back. I'm not keen on removing that just to check for a spare.
Since my Prius Prime doesn't have a spare tire, I can't safely drive it through coastal mountains. In the first year of owning it, I had to replace three tires due to the poor quality of the ones it came with, resulting in more flat tires than I've experienced in over five decades of driving. The lack of a spare tire also means I can't embark on long road trips.
If my 2021 AWD Prius had a spare tire (it doesn't), I'm not sure where I would even keep it since the battery is already using up all the room in the hatch/cargo area. I want to get a spare tire, but there doesn't seem to be any space available for it.
I recently found out that my 2021 Toyota Prius comes equipped with a compact spare tire instead of the usual tire repair kit. It feels like hitting the jackpot, especially after all the negative feedback I've received about not having a spare tire!
I was informed by the seller that my new Toyota Prius came with a spare tire, but upon checking, it did not. I feel deceived and frustrated as I specifically wanted a car equipped with a spare tire. It is disappointing to have a vehicle without this essential component, as it would mean troublesome and inconvenient situations having to locate someone to address any tire issues that may arise. This lack of adequate service is not something I expected or appreciate in a newly purchased vehicle.
My 2020 Prius doesn't come with a spare tire, which seems pretty stupid to me. It does have a jack, but no spare tire! I'd be willing to sacrifice a bit of efficiency if it means I could switch to a spare tire and make it to a tire shop easily.
The spare tire was discontinued after the 2016 model year. Unbelievably, my 2018 Prius does not come with a spare tire!
