In a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the speed sensor is located on the right rear side of the transmission output shaft. It can be easily identified as the sensor with a wire near the driveshaft. This sensor monitors the drive shaft's rotation speed and sends this data to the ECU. The ECU uses this information to determine your driving speed, which is displayed on the dashboard speedometer. If your speedometer is malfunctioning, the speed sensor is likely the cause.
