In the 2013 Nissan Rogue, the starter is located beneath the intake manifold near the top of the engine. It's a small motor whose purpose is to crank the main engine to start the car and maintain combustion. When the starter malfunctions, the car won't start and a clicking noise may be heard when turning the key. Replacing the starter typically costs between $300 and $500, with parts around $300 and labor around $200. If you plan to remove it yourself, it should take approximately an hour and a half and you will need a wrench for the job.
The starting mechanism of the 2013 Nissan Rogue can be found at the bottom of the engine block.
