The starter relay of a 2000 BMW 323i is positioned on the driver's side of the engine, towards the rear and right side of the intake manifold, near the windshield. It is encased in a black cover that needs to be unbolted and unclipped for replacement. A new starter relay would be priced around $30 to $45 and can be easily installed using basic hand tools, taking no more than about 30 minutes.
