In the 2004 Honda CR-V, the thermostat can be found on the upper radiator coolant line. It acts as a valve that helps regulate the engine's temperature, ensuring it's not too hot or too cold. If you take out the thermostat, your engine may overheat during regular use. Without this part, the engine may struggle to reach its intended operating temperature due to excessive coolant flow at idle.
People who claim the thermostat is found on the upper radiator hose clearly have not examined a CRV engine. In reality, the thermostat is situated at the front of the engine on the lower radiator hose, not on the top as mistakenly suggested. If you follow their advice, you'll waste your time looking in the wrong place.
