In a 2004 Cadillac CTS, you'll locate the transmission control module near the top of the transmission under the vehicle. This computer manages all automatic transmission functions in your car. If the transmission control module malfunctions, you might experience delayed gear shifts and feel like the vehicle is having trouble finding the right gear while driving. When there's an issue with the TCM, a check engine light will typically appear on the dashboard, and you can use an OBD II scan tool to diagnose the problem by reading the vehicle's computer.
