The speed sensor on a 2001 BMW X5 is located on the top of the transmission, under the cable shift linkage. It tracks the RPMs of the input shaft, which is crucial in coordinating the movement of the vehicle as the torque converter transmits pressure to the clutches and gear assembly. When the vehicle is in motion, the transmission input shaft syncs its RPM with the engine, determining the speed of the car based on the input speed and gear ratio. Any deviation from this norm will trigger the PCM to flag a specific issue.
The 2001 BMW X5's speed sensor can be found on the right side of the transmission close to the rear end, tucked under the hood of the car.
Hello, can you please assist me in finding the position of the speed sensor on a 2002 BMW X5 3.0i petrol model? I appreciate your help.
There are two sensors present: one is located on the torque converter, and the other is on the output shaft.
