The idle air control valve in the 2008 Honda Civic can be found on the left side of the throttle body, facing the front of the engine. To access the valve, you will need to remove the throttle body from the engine. Start by taking off the air filter housing, which is held in place by clips around the middle. Release the clips by prying up from the bottom. After removing the air filter, take out the bolt securing the bottom of the housing. Next, disconnect the fuel line, throttle linkage, and two bolts from the throttle body. The IAC valve is held in place by a few bolts on the left side of the throttle body - remove these bolts to detach the valve.

The 2008 Honda Civic's idle air control valve sits near the throttle body on the intake manifold. Look for rubber hoses that connect to the throttle body in that area.
