In the Subaru Outback, the power outlet can be found on the main console dashboard. If the power outlet is not working, it could be a sign of a faulty alternator. There are some clear indicators that your vehicle may be facing alternator issues. Firstly, if the battery is dead, it could be related to a bad alternator, although not always. Another sign is that the instrument panel may appear dim, malfunction, flicker, or produce strange noises due to fluctuations in power supply. Replacing the alternator can range from $300 to $500, encompassing both parts and labor costs. While it may seem expensive, fixing it is unavoidable as delaying could result in a further $100 expense to replace the battery in a few weeks. If you opt to replace the alternator yourself, simply unbolt the clamps and remove it from the front as it is conveniently located.
The power socket in the Subaru Outback can be found right in the middle of the console.
