The 2011 Jeep Liberty requires Mopar antifreeze. It is important to replace the coolant every 60,000 miles, while the air filter should be changed between 15,000 and 30,000 miles. Spark plugs must be replaced every 100,000 miles, except for copper ones which should be changed every 30,000 miles. Engine issues may arise, such as loose gaskets or spark plugs popping off, requiring immediate attention. Oil leaks must be fixed promptly, and excessive oil consumption may necessitate earlier oil changes. Engine overheating is a critical issue that can result in fires and even explosion of the vehicle.
The 2011 Jeep Liberty should use the Mopar antifreeze/coolant with a five-year/100,000-mile formula as recommended.
I heard that Chrysler switched from HOAT antifreeze to OAT after 2013 due to concerns about seal damage. Mixing the two types can cause them to congeal, so it's important to not mix them and instead drain and flush the system. I recently bought some antifreeze from a Jeep dealer labeled "OAT" in small print, and you can also find the OAT type on Amazon. Just be sure the label specifies "OAT". This information is specific to MOPAR brand antifreeze, and I'm unsure about other manufacturers.
