In the 2007 (or any) Acura MDX, a common reason for the "check emissions system" light to illuminate is surprisingly a loose fuel cap. This occurs because the fuel system utilizes a positive vapor recovery system. When the cap is not properly sealed, pressure is released from the tank, causing the warning light to activate. Since the issue is tied to emissions, it triggers this specific warning light. If securing the cap does not resolve the issue, other possible causes could include a gas tank leak from corrosion or damage, a loose clamp on the fuel hose, or a cracked hose itself.
If the check engine light comes on in your 2007 Acura MDX, chances are it's because the gas cap is not tightened properly.
Still, they firmly closed the lid.
