Typically, when your Mercedes me pre-entry climate control isn't functioning, it's often due to a communication problem. As long as the high voltage battery is adequately charged, you can pre-cool or pre-heat the vehicle for a maximum of 5 minutes by unlocking it with the smartKey. This feature allows you to adjust the temperature inside the vehicle while it's parked, before you even start it up. You can activate it whether the car is plugged in or not (provided the high voltage battery has enough charge), and it can operate for either 50 minutes (when plugged in) or 20 minutes (when unplugged).
