I was charged $232 and 1.8 hours at a rate of $129 per hour to replace a broken transmission dip stick tube. In my opinion, basic services should not be changed at the same rate as services requiring higher skills and 1.8 hours to replace a dip stick tube held on by 2 screws seems excessive. I’ve been a loyal GM customer for over 40 years but this experience left me irritated. To make matters worse, the broken tube was found during an oil service and noted on my invoice. Neither the service advisor or technician told me of the problem. I found out by reading over the invoice after I had left the dealership.
