Sooo I found a super pretty Audi A6 there back in December of 2020 and like a fool, I purchased it without even taking it to Audi or some other foreign car place to give it a once over. I guess that's on me but I'll get into this now. Upon buying said vehicle you naturally must go and get insurance. The insurance people ran the car and was like "hey the previous owner crashed it 3 different times and did at or around $30k in damage." When I asked Big Jim or John or whoever he is if the car had ever been crashed or anything he replied "no." So I now have this car, it's January and I attempt to get gas and the fuel door won't open. After some fighting with it I finally get it open and then I decide its time to take it to Audi to get that fixed. Here's where it gets fun. The previous owner purchased Audi care which is just registered to the car no matter who owns it and the package had another inspection to go so they said "hey let's just do that while it's here" and they did. Here's what they found. The car has a bad battery ($500), a leaking coolant system ($1200), bad air filters ($160), bad tires ($950), bad brakes ($800 luckily I can at least do the front ones myself), and a few other issues I don't remember because I don't have the papers in front of me. This is one month after having the car and now in May, the air conditioner is broken. So basically I'm saying at the very least don't buy a foreign car from Bart and if you must take it across the street to the dealer, pay the fees and have them give it a good look because clearly Bart doesn't have a mechanic to do so. Personally if I could go back in time I'd just have walked over to the Audi dealer to purchase an Audi. Oh well only have it for another 5 years and will be paying for it twice with all these repairs coming up. Thanks Bart and Big whomever you are. Also I knew going in that repairs would be expensive and I was okay with that because since I was buying from a dealer, I expected the car to be perfect or close to it and the only repairs I'd need would be a year or so in the future after I had been driving more, not a month (which means all issues were there from purchase time) after I took it home.
