My experience buying my car was a very positive and helpful one. I had many questions to ask and got prompt answers that were very helpful plus some lessons on how to work the information on the panels for radio,gps and telephone etc. I wanted to know especially how the safety features worked and the warnings given when you were too close to an object. All this was answered in the most helpful and patient manner. My dealer even came to my house to get the title and extra key from the Toyota I was selling. I have gone to Berlin City for all of my services in the past and find everybody very helpful , prompt and thorough. I find their place cheerful and welcoming plus excellent service!

I recently purchased a low mileage 2012 RAV4 at Berlin City in Portland, ME which was the fifth transaction I've had with them over the past seven years. As usual the sales and finance staff were helpful and courteous and I think that all involved with the transaction were satisfied with the results. I cannot say enough good things about Berlin City Toyota. Their customer service was exceptional, and they did a great job with my vehicle! On May 16, 2016, Monday, I called the dealership and spoke with Jesse Tavares. He answered my questions and invited me to stop over, and I did, about 90 minutes later. I was there all day till about 8pm. He took his time to answer all of my questions. I felt a great connection with my salesperson. By evening, I put down a deposit of $500 and returned on Wednesday, May 18, to finalize the purchase. It took us about three hours total. I decided on a 2012 Prius. They did such a great job with my vehicle that my friends and family thought it was a brand new car! Their detailing crew were exceptional! My car is now registered, plates on, title is on its way from Augusta. Berlin Toyota applied for the title for me. I am a very happy customer, and I HIGHLY recommend my salesperson, Jesse Tavares!!!! He is someone who will take time with you and personalize your visit so that you don't feel just like another customer. Even after the purchase, Jesse is happily available. After spending days online shopping for a RAV4 that would meet my needs/wants/budget, I had found two in the Westbrook and Saco areas that I was willing to drive down from 200 miles "north" to look at and take for test drives. Then my niece from Saco discovered one from Berlin City Toyota, a 2013 RAV4 Limited, that she thought I would be interested in. It surpassed my expectations and was listed at $2500 less than its "twin" in Westbrook with an added bonus of a navigation option. The mileage was higher than the one in Westbrook but was the same mileage and price as the XLE model in Saco. I expressed an interest online and was quickly notified by Jenn Rose who confirmed the price and availability. She knew I would be coming to the area on that Saturday, would be meeting my niece and her husband at the dealership and that I would have an older dog with me. She made me feel that everyone would be welcome when I arrived, and she was right! We had confirmed the price, fees, tax over the phone the night before, so there were NO surprises. Jenn took the buying anxiety completely out of the equation! After a longer-than-expected buying process, I was driving off their lot in a car I feel confident will last for many, many years. I want to add that the buying process was due to inadequate paperwork from my local credit union. I am sure many other weekend shoppers encounter the same issue. Credit Unions and banks need to find a way to ensure that dealerships will have their money on the day of sale and keep their customers from making several trips back and forth to complete the process. Thank you, Charlie, for finding a way to make this purchase possible on that Saturday! My niece drove my 2008 Toyota Camry back to their house; her husband drove their Toyota Camry back to their house; and I drove over a few minutes later in my new RAV4!

My16-year old car had served me well, but it was time for another car, my mechanic said. The search began. Having arrived early at Berlin City Toyota, I walked around the lot, drawn immediately to a cheery new-leaf green Prius. 'Metallic lime', maybe chartreuse, it's easy to find in a parking lot, and highly visible on the road. Chris Green was helpful throughout my selection of the Prius. Jared Grant patiently led me through leasing the car, a new experience for me. Any wear and tear or appearance changes you are going to pay for, one way or another, in addition to the basic lease charge. Don't be surprised. Did I get a good deal? Who knows? I'm not a negotiator. I enjoyed my time with Chris and Jared, a real gift. And I like the Prius's fuel efficiency, though I may never plumb this car's tech-y depths!

I conducted my research through the Berlin City Toyota Portland ME website. I was contacted by Chris Green, Sales Guide and met up with him at Berlin City. Chris was accommodating with my option requests and I ended up with a new 2016 RAV4. I am very happy with my RAV4. I want to mention that Charlie Burns was also helpful in ensuring the financial business was processed as quickly as possible. My overall rating is four stars due to the length of time it took for me to drive off the lot with my new RAV4. Outside of a one hour lunch break, I was there close to six hours at Berlin City Toyota. Too long for an old man. Need to improve.

So my wife and I 1st bought a 2010 Ford F150 4x4. Buying was very easy and sales person Brady was very helpful and easy to deal with. There were some repairs needed after the 2000 mile warranty ran out but Berlin stepped up and fixed everything. Brady assisted in getting these done as well no questions asked. They spent over $2000 performing the repairs. Recently we bought a 2013 Ford Edge. About a month ago 7 months after purchasing the F150. Again very easy buying experience. Again there were some issues on the F150 that I thought were covered by my extended warranty. They were not as I only had a drive train warranty. Berlin City again took care of these repairs at no cost to me. Wouldn't even allow me to pay for parts. They again spent right at $2000 in repairs. I am nobody special. Don't have perfect credit. They are a great dealership with an exceptional group of people. Please if you are looking to buy a car used or new...start with Berlin City Portland Maine. This is the second experience I have had with Berlin City in the last year. Last year I bought my husband a 2015 Highlander. Nick and team were wonderful throughout the sales process. We reviewed the car, I was given it to take around town, brought for my husband to test drive and made the sale. Financing was secured and on the same day as I tested drove the car, I signed my half of the loan payments and then Nick and I went downtown (my husband is a CPA and it was April) to have my husband sign his half. We got back at the dealer, transferred everything from the old Highlander to the new and I was off. So this year when I decided to buy my RAVA4, I went directly to Berlin and asked for Nick. The salesperson who greeted me, was wonderful, showed me the car, explained the features and gave me some brochures to look at and assured me that he would leave a message for Nick. Again, I could not be happier. The color car I wanted was not on the lot, so I drove a mirror image for the day and when I got back we put the paper work in place and 2 days later they had located the car, brought it to the dealer and had it ready for me to sign and leave. I will also say I have had great experience with the service department as well. Although none of us wants to have their car serviced they try to make it a easy and comfortable experience.

My first experience with Berlin City was easy, but this is my 2nd vehicle experience and I must say- it was even easier!!! I worked with Phil for the end of my lease and I was so well taken care of, I was really in awe that I have a beautiful new Sienna and all I had to do was show up. The professionalism and caring from all the team members is the best. I've had dealings with other car dealerships, even walked out of another Toyota dealership having been so ignored and looked down upon that I vowed to never set foot in there again. When my brother suggested Berlin City in Portland, I drove right over and have never looked back. They are and will continue to be my 'go-to' car dealership. I brought my car to your dealership to have the Maine state inspection done. They told me to that in order to pass they have to change the driver side fog light. I told them to go head and do it. So instead of removing the protective plastic that covers the access to the fog light one of your technicians cut a hole in it!!! Either he doesn't know what he is doing or he is lazy but one thing I'm certain off is he shouldn't have a job there. I can't believe how little care you show to your customers car. I have been coming there for 8 years and I purchased this vehicle there. This is a total lack of care and respect toward your customers and their vehicles.

Although I was pounced on by a salesman as I walked toward the front door, fortunately I had an appointment set up with Melanie Larcombe and didn't have to turn around and walk away. Melanie is down-to-earth and easy to talk to. Car salespersons aren't my favorite humans in most cases. Melanie made me change my mind. So kind, offering me drinks, snacks and taking me out to my used Camry that I had prepicked on the internet. She showed me all the features inside the car (I had just jumped up from a 2004 Kia Amanti, so needed tutoring in the Camry's features) and we took a ride. I'm usually tense driving with a salesperson, but Melanie and I just chatted as I drove. She did most of the paperwork and all I had to do was sign...and sign...and... I'm sure I'll enjoy being back with a Camry and thank Melanie for the experience in making this happen. She is highly recommended by me.

My wife and I just purchased a used Rav 4 at Berlin City from Harold Blaney and it was a good experience. We made an appointment and Harold was prepared when we arrived. We had a particular car in mind and it was right there ready for our inspection. Harold talked about the car, all in a matter-of-fact, low key manner and he was extremely helpful. It also helped that the price for that year and model car was about the best we could find. The deal with Harold was done comfortably and fairly quickly and I expect we'll go back to Harold for another when the time comes.

Mike Wyman was very patient with us. We were trying to choose between a Honda CRV and a RAV4. Mike showed us all the features and made sure we understood how to access each one. Mike did not pressure us to make a sale on the RAV4. He was able to locate a RAV4 Limited in the color my wife wanted. The car drives great! One of the decision points for us was that the scheduled maintenance is a lot less than the CRV. However, we would say that the CRV would have provided more storage room in the interior than the RAV4 does. Mike and Ryan were more than accommodating.

8/1/2015 I just would like to say my daughter and I had very good service from Mark H. at Berlin City in Portland. We needed to replace her car and had seen an ad for a Honda Civic so we went to check it out. We were not planning on buying that day figuring it would not measure up but maybe there would be other options. The car turned out to be in fantastic shape but very basic (not even a radio). However we took it out for a ride and she loved it. Mark was so cheerful and helpful that we did in fact purchase it. I would work with Mark again any day. He did not pressure us and was very patient with me as we decided and went through the process. He even found and mailed us another set of keys several days later. I would recommend him to anyone.

I really liked when sale manager came and helped me out in buying process, and I liked financial manager for being so helpful also. For me it was very important that how they paid attention to my requests and needs, but unfortunately I did not the sale person. I wish I had asked at first to change him at the beginning. He did not provide me to test Rav4 or Camry to drive and compare them to each other. He did not that knowledge that what is difference between L, LE, S, Camry, and Rav4 to explain that if I pay more what better features or things I will get more. The way he was talking to me it was like he is my boss, and it was very forcefully. I was ready to buy and that was my first experience to buy a new car, but he did not make it pleasant for me. Even he sent me home to call to my insurance at home which caused a problem and I could not bring the car on first night that I bought that. Now that I have my new car, but I wish the buying process went the way I wanted , and I expected form Berlin City Toyota.

When I totaled my 2011 Prius, my goal was to get back to where I was with a similar car having similar features. We had walked away from the accident, but were still pretty shaken, so I also wanted the car buying experience to be as hassle-free as possible. We made an appointment at Berlin City, where Melanie Larcombe had a car ready for us to see and drive. Except that it was newer, the car was was nearly identical to my old car - down to the paint! This was the first dealership we contacted when we wanted to trade in our '02 Rav4 for a newer one. We had purchased our '02 Rav from them nine years before and had had a good experience. In the week leading up to our visit, all our contact was with Christopher Tarr via emails and phone calls. Chris was extremely helpful and responsive and helped us set up a meeting with a salesperson. Although we did not buy a car from this dealer this time (we found a similar car at the same price with significantly fewer miles at a nearby dealer), we will make Berlin City our first stop next time---our initial experience with Chris was so positive!

After several cordial and professional emails with a salesman, my wife and I drove to the Berlin City Toyota (BCT) in Portland, Maine to ask about trading in our Rav4 (which we bought there nine years ago) and getting a newer one. We had a specific car in mind and the salesman (Brady) was exceptionally helpful, as was the business guy (Ryan) who joined us later to see if we could agree on a deal. A tentative agreement was made very quickly, and they were extremely accommodating and didn't hard-sell us at all. We wanted to see an almost identical car (with a lot fewer miles) at another dealership nearby before we said yes, and we told them that. They hoped that we would return to buy from them, but understood and kindly let us go. The second dealer matched Berlin City's price and we bought the car from them. I immediately sent a text to Ryan at Berlin City (I wanted them to know what transpired before they left for the evening), and in just a couple of minutes I got the following text from him: "Can't win em all I guess. No hard feelings. We'll be here if you ever need us. CONGRATS!" I am so very impressed with that! That, my friends, is how to lose a deal and gain a loyal customer. No, we did not buy a car from Berlin City in Portland this time, but next time we need a car, we are going there first!

Our interaction with Steve Saucier was excellent from the first meeting until the day we drove off the lot. I felt we were treated fairly on both the purchase price of the new vehicle as well as the trade in for the 2010 Tacoma. My only comment was that it took awhile to get the car on the lot but I do not feel that was the dealers issue. We were just very specific about what we wanted.

I bought my 2015 Tacoma online through a consumer magazine's buying service. I received offers from different dealers and narrowed it to Berlin City because of price and value. I dealt with Greg West and was totally satisfied dealing with him. He sent various offerings via email and was helpful in narrowing my choice. His easy going manner was a pleasure and I never felt pressured to buy. I jokingly told him that I couldn't afford the 23 cents on the $XXXXX.23 of the final price. Greg told me that he would throw in 5 returnable cans. That sealed the deal. Greg answered my emails and phone calls immediately. Greg even threw in some rubber Tacoma floor mats! Great service. I had the truck delivered to my front door with the gas tank topped off and a bag of 5 empty returnable bottles that Greg had promised me to pay for the 23 cents! I'm really impressed with Nick Nadeau and the whole Berlin City operation, even though I never made the two hour trip to the dealership! I've bought lots of cars before but this is the first time that I did the whole process by email and phone. Nick was fast and informative every step of the way, and it was fun to have a Berlin driver deliver the new Prius right into our garage today and then drive away with the old one (a 2005 model with 147,000 miles, still running fine). Of course we did forget to remove the garage door opener clipped on the visor and a CD in the deck, but Nick called to report these this afternoon and will mail them on Monday. He's been that fast and helpful since I first requested a quote two days ago. I also appreciated Nick's (maybe all of Berlin's) philosophy of keeping the purchase and trade-in deals separate and transparent until I decided that both were to my liking. Of course I also liked the Berlin discount, which was offered from the beginning and which my local Toyota dealer could not match. This was a totally pleasant transaction and we really like the 2015 Prius so far.

We were comfortable dealing with Stephen Lawrence, who represented Berlin City Toyota. He was straightforward and helpful in his responses, took pictures of the car and sent them to us and, most importantly, did not put excessive pressure on us at any time (as we experienced in another Toyota dealership). We felt the dealership was less than forthcoming in two items it put on our sale invoice: 'administrative fees' and 'theft protection'. The first was discussed in advance, but we thought it was a state fee, not a dealer fee. That's our fault for not asking. The second was never discussed. Stephen, to his credit, removed the second one without pushing us when we insisted. On balance, we're happy, but not ecstatic with the quality of our transaction. We would come to Berlin City Toyota again. However, we'll have more confidence in this dealership if we see it has posted this review.

The dealer sold the truck I wanted three days after I saw it. I wasn't fast enough to get it because I thought that it would still be there. However, every effort was exhausted by Peter in sales to find one for me and they did within an hour. I accepted delivery one week later. Also, Joe in financing was fantastic and very knowledgeable. He found the right rates for me and executed a fast and "Easy" purchase from start to finish. Most dealerships I've been to keep you in the dealership for 3 or 4 hours. This deal took less than 2 hours.

I submitted an online inquiry for a 2015 Highlander Limited Platinum. Within an hour I received a call from Steve Saucier at Berlin City Toyota. He told me there were none currently in stock, but he was expecting a delivery from the factory in five days. Four days later Steve called and told me the Highlander had arrived. I had two vehicles to trade and Steve gave me a fair trade for both vehicles. The buying/trading process was stress free. Berlin City Toyota are honest and forthcoming selling and buying cars. It was a much better experience than the old cat and mouse game usually empoloyed in car selling/buying. The whole buying experience was positive and we are very happy with our new Highlander.

This is our second purchase from Berlin City. It's also our second time working with Harold Blaney. He's very down to earth, very friendly, and very helpful. During the financing process, there was a hiccup in that we were moving out of state, and had no documents showing our new address (staying with relatives initially, so no lease or mortgage). Harold stepped up and really helped push the deal through. If we ever make it back to Maine and need another car, I'll certainly look to work with Harold again! During the financing process, we dealt with Jared. Aside from the usual upselling that takes place whilst running through financing, he was very knowledgeable, and very friendly. I came to Berlin City Toyota to purchanse a 2014 Prius C after having a very negative experience with another dealership. I was fortunate to work with both Greg West and Timothy Brown throughout this process. They were both very knoweldgeable and helpful in providing information about the vehicle and in presenting different buying options. I utilized their delivery service and, for a reasonable fee, had the car delivered to my door and my trade-in taken away, all without the stress of arranging daycare for my two little ones. I wasn't planning on getting a new car just on having service on my old Matrix, but they made me an offer I couldn't refuse, so I was able to by a new Prius by trading in my 9 yr old Matrix. I loved my old car and the toyota people at Berlin City took wonderful car of it. Michael researched the car ahead of time and was very knowledgeable about the features and benefits of the Rav4. He made the choice easy. I've been driving the Rav4 for about a week and really like it. My only suggestion for improvement is to make the finance process faster. Much of the paperwork, etc. could've been completed ahead of time in order to speed up the process.

My 2015 Tacoma is the third vehicle we have purchased at Berlin City, all with the assistance of Eric Mendoza. Each time the experience has been easy from first contact to delivery. For this purchase I wanted a Tacoma with certain features. Eric identified one that was in transit, and it was delivered to me one day after arriving at the dealership. Everything went very smoothly. I highly recommend the dealership, and Eric in particular, He is very knowledgeable about the vehicles, pointing out the pros and cons of different features, all in a no-pressure, professional manner. My overall experience with Berlin City Toyota thus far has been a very good one. Joe Menard made my first ever car purchase way less traumatic than I was expecting it to be. I told him what I was looking for and what I wanted my payments to be and he stuck within those parameters. His friendly, respectful manner put me at ease and made me feel like he had my interests at heart. He did not pressure me to make a purchase I wasn't comfortable with nor did he become impatient because I wouldn't make an immediate decision to purchase. I can't say enough about my salesman, Greg West. When I first called Berlin City looking for a 2014 Land Cruiser I was lucky enough to be put in contact with Mr. West. He was very pleasant and informative during our conversation. In fact his attitude was the very reason I did not buy my vehicle from a dealer much closer to my home. The other dealer I called was very curt with me over the phone so I crossed them off my list. Meeting Greg was a pleasure. Very engaging and friendly. Greg had answers to all my questions and was a wealth of information about things unique to the Land Cruiser. To exemplify just what a kind of person Greg is, I have to relate the following. Greg saw that my wife and I have physical limitations. I bought a car from this company and I can tell you right now I am never going back. Not only did the buying of the car take forever we felt like we did not get a fair deal at all. After being at the dealership for 4 hours!!! We finally got to go paying more than we thought going in and getting less for are trade in. Not to mention the bank called the other day asking why we still have a loan out on our trade in it has been more than 14 days and our old car has not been paid off. I am still paying interest on this car and have another payment coming up so that means an extra car payment. When I call them they are WAY too busy for me and tell me to call back or make me hold for a long time. Funny when I called to buy a car they were quick. I mean this when I say if you want great service and I mean service where they take care of you the whole time and even after you buy the car then DONT go to Berlin City. It is not just about buying a car its about the experience after you buy it because you are going to need to go back. I am not taking this car back to Berlin I will have this car worked on at another dealership!!! BAD SERVICE ALL AROUND!!

My pleasant experience with Berlin City Toyota in Portland stemmed from a poor experience with another southern Maine Toyota dealership. I actually had a deal in place with the other dealer a week earlier and gave them a $250 deposit. My deal was for an AWD Sienna LE in Shoreline Blue or Predawn Gray. They did not have one on the lot, but they gave me the VIN # for one they were going to swap for with a dealership in MA. I received notification the following Monday that the Sienna had arrived. Color was right, but the one they brought in was FWD, not AWD which we negotiated on. The thing that irked me was that they didn't tell me...I had to find out for myself. They told me that they decided to swap with another dealer, and didn't realize it was FWD. But I have my doubts based upon previous experiences with this dealership. After we politely refused this vehicle (I still wanted them to get me one, after all), they did very little to secure me the right one. They kept telling me that my request was hard to find, and that only one person at their dealership works the dealer swaps, and he is a salesman busy with his own sales. Apparently his customers were more important than us. After several more days, I discovered that Berlin City just got a gray AWD on the lot. I visited them last Thursday evening, talked with their salesman Nick, and after about 5 minutes of negotiations they matched the deal I had from the other dealership. I went back to the other dealership and requested my deposit back. They could not have cared less...the salesman didn't even bother to tell his manager! I went back to Berlin City and told them I would take it, and that my wife and I would be back the next day to do the paperwork. We had a FANTASTIC experience with Cliff from the F&I room. There was no pressure, whatsoever...both Nick and Cliff were very straightforward with us. We couldn't be happier with how things turned out. Not only will Berlin City get the service for our new Sienna, but I will now service my Camry with them instead of the "other" dealership (not that they care). By the way, it is a week later now and the original vehicle in MA I negotiated for with the other dealership is STILL available!

I found a used Sienna elsewhere and was finding conflicting information on the internet concerning transmission care. When I went to Berlin Toyota for facts & an estimate, I could tell Rick Libby was reasonable and not pushing for excess repairs, and I liked the price, especially for a large dealership. When time to pay, the bill was lower than that quoted. I questioned an scrolling ad that listed an even lower price (for most models) and he lowered the total to that. I am extremely impressed! Too often the options are: pay Rolls Royce prices for an old car that doesn't deserve it, or save money by allowing a teenager at a quickie repair shop to gamble with your car. For my next repair, I'll check Berlin City first.

After a poor experience at another dealership, Stephen Lawrence and Berlin City were a nice re-direct. They were fair and accommodating with pricing, and straightforward in helping me to close a fantastic deal on a new Camry LE. They had the color I wanted, with the features and dependability that are commonplace for Toyota models . . . and they matched a competitors' ad for pricing, which was great. I had no loyalty or ties to any specific dealerships in Southern Maine (I live above Bangor) but, after dealing with Berlin City, I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone I know looking to purchase a new or quality used vehicle.

I knew I wanted a Toyota PriusV and was shopping though out Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and upstate New York for the best price. I had test driven one and knew exactly what I wanted . What I didn't want was to be "sold to" - I wanted the best price and the easiest transaction. I didn't have a trade in and I wasn't financing. Of all the dealers, Berlin City Portland, ME was both the best price (by $1,000 from closest price and $5,000 less than some dealers) but was also the easiest. They were in fact one of a handful of dealers who actually answered my email with an actual quote and not a series of sales people calling me. When I went in to get the car, they had me in and out of there within an hour - very happy with the entire process (and the car!)

Used the USAA Buying sevice and Berlin Toyota was among 3 quotes they provided. Berlin and Harold were the most responsive and provided the best final out the door quote. Tim, one of the Managers helped fill in while Harold was out of the office and they made it quick and easy to finalize a deal. The final paperwork was handled quickly and professionally with no "hard sell tactics". I even arranged to have the truck left on site ready to pick up on a Sunday when they were closed as I was traveling in the days before. Very satisfied with the deal and the dealer and would recommend them without reservation.

Brady was very helpful with my entire car purchase. I was actually on my way to go to the car dealership to trade in my car and it broke down and wouldn't start. At this point, I thought that I was doomed for the entire car situation but Brady came right over to where I was broken down with someone. Brady drove over the car I was going to test drive, and had someone come and look at my car. My car wouldn't start so Brady waited for me to call the tow company and then I drove the test car back to the dealership. He made the process really easy and stress free for me, and I ended up getting a pretty new car! Everyone at the dealership was really helpful and made sure that I got the best deal for what I wanted. Make sure you ask for Brady Blackman!

Buying a used car is not something we enjoy doing, we searched for several weeks to find just what we wanted and finally found one at Berlin City. I contacted them and they responded quickly, made arrangements to look at it the next day. We needed a hitch on it which was done for us while we waited, they also let us borrow another car so we could leave and get lunch. In the end we were out the door with a new car, hitch installed in less than 4 hours! Much better experience than I expected to have!

Great experience overall. I didn't have time for a test drive the first day I was there and the salesman didn't pressure me at all into taking it. He took some contact info and worked with me to schedule a test drive later. Bought the truck a few days later. They went out of their way to get the truck I wanted from another lot as fast as possible.

Let's face it, leasing or buying a new car isn't something we jump out of bed in the morning and think...I'd really like to do THAT today. In fact, we'd probably all prefer to poke sharp sticks in our eyes. We do it when we have to. That being said, I didn't want to. I had to. I went to a different Southern Maine Toyota Dealership before I visited Berlin City. I spent three hours at the "other" dealership. It was three hours I'll never get back...there was smoke, mirrors - more smoke and more mirrors... Let me save anyone who is reading this some time. Go to Berlin City Toyota Lexus of Portland to buy or lease your new car. Ask for Peter Thibault and Matt Almy. The prompt at the bottom of this comment box is showing me I only have 3257 characters left to tell you how great it was to work the two of them. That won't be enough. So I'll leave it at this...Go there. You'll get the car you want for the best deal you can get in Southern Maine.

I am a lady of a certain age so I was not looking forward to buying a new car. I knew I wanted a RAV 4 to replace a much loved Highlander and I knew I wanted to get it at Berlin City because of the excellent service department, but the whole car buying thing can be intimidating. However, Phil Chouinard treated me with respect and professionalism throughout the entire transaction. He knew the car features thoroughly and explained them well - he is a patient teacher. I had no experience with navigation systems so he encouraged me to come back for more lessons as often as I wanted. I have been back once so far and have actually used it on a trip! The business office did pitch the extended warranty on the computers but backed off gracefully when I declined. The whole experience was easy - no pressure and no hassle.i believe I got a more than fair deal. Thanks, Phil!

Yes, I actually had fun buying my Prius and that's due to Greg West, our salesman. He is smart, well-educated on the hybrid models offered by Toyota that I considered, and also warm, kind and funny. In other words, a lovely human being. I pretty much knew I wanted a Toyota Prius but Greg was extremely helpful in walking me through the various extras offered on each Prius model which were confusing at first. He was always available through the decision-making process - and during the time it took the dealership to find my car - but never rushed us. Given Toyota's great reputation as a dependable manufacturer it's nice to know Berlin City doesn't take that for granted and that they hire people like Greg who operate very professionally and who can provide lots of information and explanations.

We bought a used certified Camry Hybrid XLE. It wasn't our first choice, but it had low mileage and in every way was virtually new. The buying process we experienced was competent, totally unhurried, thoroughly courteous, warm, and yet allowed me feel free to go any direction I wished in selection of a car, options, etc. Moreover I was able to make the purchase at an exceedingly fair price at terms designed to fit my budget. I worked with a young sales representative named Mike Roman, who did a wonderful job of showing me the Prius and all that it can do. Mike was patient when we had to make a small detour on the test drive to accommodate my family. When I signed my lease, he also followed me to my house with my other vehicle, which I did not trade in. Even after the sale, Mike asked me to bring my new Prius back for an exterior wax and detailing. In the end, I found working with Berlin City, professional personable, honest and accommodating. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a vehicle.

Leif O'Connell, my new car salesman, went far out of his way to make our experience completely satisfactory. I had negotiated a good price on my 2014.5 Camry LE on the internet before my arrival at the dealership, and that price was fully honored. Leif kept us fully informed during the sales process, and he made sure our car was gassed and thoroughly prepared for us to take home. He even provided one of the best-tasting cups of coffee I've ever had. We had driven two hours to buy our new car, and we were on our way home less than three hours after arrival. Steve Saucier exceeded my expectations of a sales person. My husband couldn't be with me during this purchase, but I didn't feel alone. I was set on looking at a certain vehicle, but Steve found that it was a vehicle that had recently been traded in and had been taken to the body shop earlier that day to have a little work done. Without hesitating, Steve told me he would go get the vehicle from the body shop which was at a different location, so I could take a look at it. He could have easily tried to have me look at different vehicles or come back another day when that vehicle was back on the lot, but he could tell I was really interested in this vehicle. He brought the vehicle back within a matter of minutes. It was a pleasant, respectful experience from beginning to end.

I came to Berlin City at the "ready to buy, just price/color shopping" stage of the game, so I can't comment on their initial sales approach. However, from that point of the process, it was a mostly pleasant experience. I had requested an eprice online the day before and received a quick response and, amazingly enough, after a few emails, a clear out-the-door price. It was a number I could work with, though I was aware they might try to make up for it with my trade-in. However, given my aggravation with the salesmen at another Toyota dealership I had dealt with, it was worth the drive to find out. (I refuse to buy a car from anyone who tries to pressure or manipulate me in any way--or is sexist.) The moment I walked in I knew this was a place I could buy from. Berlin City has an appealing showroom with a very professional look. Staff were responsive and I was quickly set up with Tim Brown to get a price. The negotiation did not take too long and I ended up with a price that I felt was fair without engaging in any unpleasant "hardball" haggling. Tim was pleasant and helpful and straightforward--rare qualities at a dealership. The part of the process I didn't like was being forced to decide at the point of sale whether to add on certain things--some of which were only available at that time. I also didn't care for the fact that the warranty price kept being reduced the longer I hesitated--it's bad enough that the price of a car is based on your negotiating skills--the warranty is too? Some might like a declining price, but that bothers me. And without the opportunity to review paperwork or think about a warranty or other packages, some of which I can't even recall now, I had to decline--time limits = pressure, and I refuse to be forced to make decisions under pressure. After the paperwork was complete, Tim walked me through the features of the car. He also followed up with me a few days later to ensure everything was good and is working with me to resolve a minor issue. I've appreciated his professionalism and willingness to make me a satisfied customer. I have to say I have mixed feelings about their motto--this is not a major issue that would affect me doing business with them, but as a woman, I couldn't help but think of an alternative interpretation of a "license plate" that says "Easy" on it! I don't know what their marketing department was thinking, but I was happy to get my legal plates back on. Overall though, after having met way too many car salesmen over the past few months, I can say that Berlin City rises above the rest and all in all seems to have a companywide mission to truly satisfy the customer.

We couldn't get the vehicle we were wanting in our area so we came to cars.com and found our vehicle! It was being sold by Berlin City Toyota, so we contacted them to buy it over the phone and with overnight ups. The way they handled the sale of this vehicle made us never want to buy another Toyota again. After having to talk to almost everyone in the dealership, we finally called the VP of the corporation that owns the dealership to finally get our title almost a month after we "bought" the vehicle! They sold the vehicle without ever having the title in hand; it was stated before and after the vehicle was shipped that the title would be arriving at our house soon. Nothing about buying this vehicle was easy, from the phone calls that were never returned to being hung up on the phone. They never followed their business philosophy, and we suffered because of it. Hopefully, if you decide to use this dealership, you have a better experience than we did. But please make sure to ask to see the title before you buy and if they cant provide it please look elsewhere, it will just cause you too much stress

I am very happy with the service I received at Berlin City Toyota. My salesperson, Harold, was beyond great. He went above and beyond on several occasions to make sure everything was perfect. It was obvious he really cared about me as a customer, and not just another sale. Working with Harold was a pleasure, and I have to say that I will return time and time again to work with him when I need to purchase again. Harold even checks in from time to time to make sure I am STILL happy and to make sure things are well. It's not just the sale, it's the whole package that makes the difference!! We lost my RAV4 to a winter accident. My wife emailed Ramzi (from whom she had bought her Prius) at BCT and we met on Friday afternoon. He had a sense of what I wanted and quickly connected me with the 2011 Tacoma Dual Cab I now own. He knows us as customers and tailored his approach to my needs, not the need to sell a product. He knew my budget, that I teach, that my wife is retired, and led me to a high-quality, used vehicle that, given the service crew there, will last me well into retirement. We have had our vehicles serviced at BCT over the last several years and have had only excellent service. Cliff made the financing/business portion of the transaction comfortable and educational. He did not pressure us to purchase add-ons but did provide information that led us to adding on extended service. Unlike other experiences with the buying process, we both left the office hoping that he will be there to help us with any future purchase. I cannot say enough about Ramzi. He is knowledgeable about the vehicles, counsels you about what you need, makes the entire process comfortable from the first handshake to the picture-taking as you head off in your new car or truck. If more car salespeople were like Ramzi, the entire industry (clients and salespeople) would benefit from a more enjoyable experience. Rose and I tend to hang onto our vehicles for many years (accidents aside) and we do hope that Ramzi will be at BCT to settle us into whatever our next vehicle may be. BCT is definitely the place to which we will return and to which we will recommend friends.

I am extremely satisfied with the buying experience I just had. Harold Blaney was incredibly helpful in locating and grabbing the exact 2014 4Runner we were looking for- which was still on the ship! He kept us posted on its delivery status as it made its way from the ship to NY to ME. Best trade offer out of all other dealerships we shopped as well. Seamless process, including an entertaining discussion with the finance manager Cliff, a great guy also. The vehicle was delivered to my house, 3 hours away, the day after it got to the dealership! The driver Bill, another great guy, helped us complete the paperwork and helped me clean out the Highlander we traded- and away he went. It's gotta be the best vehicle purchase I have ever been through, and really makes me wonder about all the previous experiences I've had- and about the calls and prices I am still receiving from other dealerships I contacted while shopping for a 4Runner. I was very happy to go to Berlin City Toyota to purchase a new vehicle. I was unhappy with my current car and I wanted to get a new one, however, I was upside down on my loan so I knew there would be a roll over on the new purchase. Berlin City was able to get my monthly price as close to my max as possible for me to be able to make the new purchase. Thank you!

This is a great place to buy a car. I went in expecting to have to haggle and deal with difficult sales people but they were both knowledgeable and kind. There was no malarkey involved. They explained everything in plain English and not once was I talked down to. If you are looking for a Toyota this is the place!

It is nice in this day and age to come across a company that actually cares about the customer. I have been buying cars for many years and am familiar with the games that some dealers can play. There were no games at Berlin City. They have truely changed the car buying process. Ryan Goodwin has been there for many years and his experience shows. I was made to feel very welcome and I never felt pressured in any way. They helped me with all of my questions over the course of a couple of weeks with superior patience and attention to detail. The manager Eric Mendoza is a genuinely honest person that went out of his way to help me with both the new camry I purchased and the "old jalopy" (as my family calls it) that I was trading in. It is because of these two (Eric and Ryan) that I will not need to continue my search for a fair and honest dealer and I will gladly refer my friends and relatives there also.

I bought my first new car from Berlin City Toyota on Saturday. I dealt with Ryan Goodwin, and he was great from the beginning to the end of the process. I shopped in Saco first, but they tried to push me into a used car I did not want. Ryan listened to my needs and showed me the exact car I wanted.
