Our salesman, Vinnie was courteous and knowledgeable about the vehicle. Here is why we were unable to buy the car: 1. The first trade-in quote was presented on a fancy certificate with our names on it but was $1500 lower than any other dealer. 2. The trade in price was ultimately raised to $2000 ABOVE what other dealers had offered us but then the sales manager did not back up Vinnie and reneged on the deal. 3. Foolishly, we went back to them when they decided to honor the higher trade amount. We did not dicker on the price of the vehicle we were purchasing since the trade in value was very fair. However, the used car we were buying was certified and they removed the certification as a condition of giving us the higher trade value. We knew this and accepted the condition. 4. On delivery day, we were dismayed to learn that there was only one key which was odd since they would need two to certify the vehicle. We thought they would order another key for us at no charge and that would be it. No, they expected us to pay and additional $395 for the key. Needless to say, we walked which we should have done when they reneged on the trade-in value.

This is the second time purchasing a vehicle from The dealership and can honestly say the experience has been outstanding. The experience I had buying a used car at Bertera Subaru was second to none. I was dreading the car buying process before I even began but Bertera made the experience quick, easy, stress and pressure free. I worked with Andre Cooke, who was kind, honest, and readily available. Pricing was fair even in the crazy current market. I did not feel swindled or misled by the front or back financing office. Pam was friendly and not pushy or condescending like my prior experiences. I highly recommend coming here if you're in the market for a car. A word of caution however- my windshield however did crack

Just purchased my third vehicle from Bertera Subaru. We couldn’t be happier with the purchase and the service provided to us. We worked with Cassidy who was wonderful and made the whole process very smooth and enjoyable. He answered all of our questions thoroughly, even providing demonstrations. He made himself available that day, also extending his personal cell phone should we have any questions later down the road. He was very professional and very attentive to our needs/wants. There was never any pressure to buy. He went above and beyond to make us happy and that was very appreciated. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.

I enjoyed my experience at this dealership. Jose Texidor is a consummate gentleman and a darn good salesman to boot. His sales approach is very unassuming. I never felt I was getting "sold".It is my understanding he has been selling cars for over 20 years, I am not surprised he is very successful.I was introduced to different department personnel and they were all professional.I enjoyed the experience purchasing a car from Bertera and the main reason was of course the quality of vehicle and Jose Texidor.

Buying my 2015 Forester was fine. I really liked the salesperson and thought I got a good price. Unfortunately, my salesperson is no longer with them.My service experience was not good. They offer a "Tires for Life" program that is not worth the effort. I have a great local shop that I should have stayed with, but I brought my car out to Bertera for every service. I mentioned one time that my engine was hesitating. Their explanation was that it was the season when gas mixtures changed and that could cause the hesitation. Brought it in the next time and mentioned it was still hesitating. Probably because of the AC they said. Next time, "sorry, it's no longer under warranty but we can take a look at it." One time, I went in complaining that the radio couldn't maintain and sometimes couldn't even establish a Bluetooth connection with my phone. "Sorry, our technician couldn't replicate the problem." My husband went in with the same complaint on his car and they replaced the radio as it was a "known issue." On my final service with them, they let me know my brakes were getting close to red and strongly suggested I replace them. Also, the injectors needed replacing but that could go a little longer. I asked about my tires as I thought they were looking worn. "We'll put in a request through the tires for life program the next time you're in for an oil change. That way, the time after that we can hopefully get you some tires." A month or so later my son gets a flat tire and the place he goes to wont fix the flat because the tires are way below safe wear levels. Basically, they made sure to mention the important fixes that would get them some money and ignored a really important safety issue to put off giving me free tires. My recommendation, buy a car there if you get a good deal, but don't waste your time with the service department.

Interested in a 2015 WRX residing 2 hours away, I did my due diligence & requested additional pictures of vehicle prior to making trip on April 6th. These were requested after noticing rear bumper did not align correctly with rear quarter panels. I was assured by salesman Keneil that damage was cosmetic, and that bumper would be replaced. I was encouraged to test-drive the vehicle. With this promise in mind, I made the trip. Upon visual inspection of rear, I was told vehicle was a recent trade-in & that the original owner had backed into a post. Still interested, and after a satisfying test-drive, I proceeded to explore purchase. Immediately, I was told Bertera would NOT put new bumper on the car. They just received trade in and were not interested in putting money into it. When I reminded Keniel or Ken, we had already negotiated passed this on phone, he apologized and was interested in offer without replacement. Aware I was a DIY kind of guy, he suggested I buy the bumper and install, and that they come pre-painted. Unprepared for financial negotiation with consideration of bumper, I (regretfully) made my best offer. And this price would have been fair if it were not for post-purchase discovery The first weekend I had the car, I removed the rear bumper to find the support beam had been crushed. Suffice to say, this was not a light tap. For an unbiased opinion, I went to a local Subaru dealership. This dealership informed me that Subaru has the highest safety testing standards, and that the car was unquestionably excluded from said inspection. He outlined visual cues that suggested support beam had been crushed; notably, two dimples protruding from bumper which told him the center of impact zone was considerably pushed in. With this in mind, I reached out to Bertera Motors in hopes they would remediate issue. Upon giving Bertera the opportunity to replace support beam, I was invited back to dealership for replacement of bolt-on support beam. I took another 2 hour drive to dealership. When I could not find Ken, I pulled into the service department and was assisted by Darlene, the service manager. Despite arrangement with Ken, Darlene was unsure what I was looking for them to do. I explained my situation and her team put WRX on lift to confirm damage. Only 5 minutes later, they confirmed damage and informed me they will replace, but did not have part in stock. When I asked why this was not caught originally, Darlene appealed the bumper must had been replaced because there was no evidence of such an impact. When I outlined the direct connection between the bumper dimples and support beam, she insisted it was from a later accident and absolved dealership of negligence. To make the best of matter, I asked if they would replace the bumper (my cost) upon swapping damaged beam. But only making matter worse, the service department wanted to charge over $500 for paint. Paint that, according to salesman, was included in purchase of bumper. A month later, after exhausting back and fourths to confirm receipt of part, I decided to cut my losses and replace support beam on my own. It was clear this dealership had no intent of standing by their product or promises. I was promised this bumper would be replaced- a commitment which encouraged me to make the trip for vehicle. This promise was broken prior to sale. I was informed the bumper was cosmetic damage and that they can be purchased pre-painted. Neither statement is true. Finally, I was assured Bertera would replace support beam. But after much wasted time commuting to and communicating with Bertera, I was forced to cut my losses. Given my frustrating experience, I would not recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a safe automobile. Its clear they failed to perform a safety inspection on vehicle and do not honor their promises or commitments. Bertera motors- Please DO NOT attempt to defend your dealership. Reviews speak for themselves. Instead of playing the defense, please spare future customers from my experience.

I have purchased many Subarus for my family with each time encountering pushy associates, unwelcomed questions I wanted to ask, and business office that only cared about my wallet size. Go to Hartford, yes I agree it is a drive, however it is worth it. You will be amazed with the friendly environment from the beginning. Oneal was one of the best I have seen in my years of auto purchases. He listen to what I wanted, allowed me to take the test drive where I wanted, and spent over an hour reviewing all the options when I picked up the car. The support staff was very polite with people talking to me before evaluating my car to make me comfortable they cared and the evaluation was honest and not just a theory of numbers from a book. The business office was unconcerned with my wallet, but more concentration with my satisfaction of the entire experience. I wish all dealers were like this, but I know for a fact that after going to three dealers this time with all negative experiences, I am not only now a loyal Subaru customer, but would highly recommend if you want a pleasurable buying experience go see Oneal and team as I would again.

If the minimal number of star is one, I will give this deal one. There are many reviews about this dealer at yelp and very FEW gave more than 2 stars---so bad this dealer. Here is my experience:This deal is one of the most shame and worst dealer I have met. I ordered a car and put deposit of $500 because they said the could not find the color I want nearby and had to order from the factory. After I waited for 6 weeks, the car came. I went to there but they told me the price was increased, what a joke! Never go with this shameless dealer.

My first time buying a car from a dealer i told them that they sold me a 07 honda civic i test drove the car and told them what had to be fixed they said they would fix it had the the car for a month when i went to pick it up i drove it thinking they fix it and less then a week had the same problem after awhile i ask to see the car fax for the car turns out the car had a salvage title try to talk to jose and he said the car was fine a bunch of times please if you buy a car from there make sure you see the car fax now i dont have the car and still have to pay for it

This is the third Subaru I've purchased from this dealer, and have used the same sales consultant each time. Issa Daoud is an incredibly honest, fair, straightforward car salesman - a combination many consider an oxymoron! He tells it like it is, does not put any pressure on you and has a great deal of knowledge about the product. (And I am not related to him!) I have dealt with many car salespeople in my lifetime (I'm 70), and this is the best one I've ever dealt with. The quality of Subaru goes without saying, but the quality of this consultant deserves wide dissemination.

As an older lady who has purchased many cars over my lifetime...I can tell you the salesmen, sales manager and owner go the extra mile to make sure you get the car you desire at a competitive price.I researched prices on the Internet, visited three other dealerships and finally special ordered a 2015 Subaru Outback with all the features I wanted last year. I loved the car until an even more senior citizen ran into the side of it. The good news is that because of the way the Subaru is made, I SURVIVED! While the Bertera Collision Centered made it like new...it just wasn't to me anymore. I went back to Bertera of Hartford and they ordered a 2016 for me that was identical to it. I dealt with 4 salesmen, the sales Manager and the owner and had a fabulous experience!!! They truly worked hard to put me back in a car I just love. Please do yourself a favor and go there! You will be glad you did!

When I arrived at the dealership, I immediately outlined the mileage/pricing parameters that we should operate within. After looking at a couple of cars, I was shown one that was several thousand dollars over my maximum price point . When I pointed this out I was told that they might be able to do something with the price; thus began my 3.5 hour ordeal. After much negotiating and several trips by the salesperson to see his "boss", we finally agreed on a price. What is ironic is that this final price was within a very few dollars of what Kelly Blue Bool defined as a fair market price for this car. Unfortunately, it took us 3.5 very unpleasant hours to reach this point, and the ordeal was not yet over. After shaking hands on the deal, signing a piece of paper agreeing to it, and giving them my credit card for what I consider a very high $5000 down payment, the sales manager joined us to tell me that it would take eight weeks to get the title from the bank holding it and therefore I would have to wait that long to get the car. I elected to not proceed any further but received a call a few hours later saying the car had since been sold but they had another one if I was interested. I guess they found someone who was willing to wait eight weeks for a used car or maybe........

Typical buying experience. Pressure to give them a deposit the first time I visited. I am happy with the used car I purchased hence the delay in writing this. The reason for this review is regarding the extended warranty. Once we negotiated the price for the car I was offered an extended warranty for an additional $25 per month ($2500 total) . I declined the offer as I didn't think it was worth it. After multiple offers (including lowering the interest rate?? and adding payments to the end of the loan) the finance guy said he could do it for $7 per month. That seemed like a reasonable deal so I agreed. When I did get the sale agreement the extended warranty was in fact still $25 per month. I did agree so went ahead with the purchase. This is just a heads up to watch out for this sales tactic that I feel was unprofessional.

I know that the title sounds corny, but in the spirit of the Thanksgiving season I wanted to say thanks to the guy who helped me buy my first car. I stopped by the dealership a couple of weeks back and was just browsing. While I was there I met a sales guy named Rich who was super friendly and helpful. I told him I was just looking and he respected that, but I did have some questions. Rich was so helpful and knew the Subaru brand inside and out. When I came back after a few days to buy a car, I asked for Rich Self and he he was able to help me buy my first Subaru. I feel like I was treated fairly and made an informed decision because of the help I received from him. When I got home with the new car, my neighbor was asking me all about the all wheel drive and reliability, and I recommended Bertera to him.

My experience at Hartford Subaru was the best ever. I've visited other dealers prior to going to Hartford Subaru and there is no comparison. Hands down they are the BEST! John Albano who was my salesperson listened to everything I needed in order to purchase a new Subaru. Once he had all the information he did his job and made it work for me. My visit with John was stressless and he made it relaxing and fun. I don't know any where else you can get that kind of service. Anyone wanting to buy a Subaru I would highly recommend Hartford Subaru! John Albano is definitely the salesperson who aims to please.

My wife and I wanted to buy a Subaru Forester. We went to several different dealerships in Connecticut and found this one to be the best hands down. I was not sure about this car. My Husband and I were just shopping around and we thought let stop in here!!!! Well let me tell you the place was great...Everyone we met was willing to help us with info...However the salesman that really made the deal breaker was John A. He spent time with us, and really made us feel that the cross track that I wanted and did buy was the best for us.. John A was so nice, calm and He really cared about our needs. Yes I will recommend this dealer ship to our friends.

Received a call yesterday for 2012 Scion TC and was scheduled for an appointment today at 1:30 PM. We waited for .5 hrs and then the salesman told us that the car has been sold. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional behavior which was not expected from such a big dealership. We will never go back there again nor recommend it either to anyone.

I went to buy a car here and the salesman was kind of shady but i didn't end up buying the car because they never called me back. That's a completely different story though. I do not know how well their sales are because i didn't buy from them but i can say there service is beyond excellent. I bought a brand new 2016 Subaru WRX and it broke down on me 5 days later. I called my original dealership i bought it from and they basically wanted nothing to do with me. Bertera took me in, Gave me a very nice enterprise loaner car and they have been communicating with me every step of the way. Service there gets an A+ in my book. Great place for service. Although my brand new car was broken which sucked, they made the negative part a little easier by offering such great service.

I went to the dealer today 8.14.15 to lease a new suv At first the sales person Ryan was very pleasant and helpful with the process he was very Knowledgeable in the leasing department. After a few negotiations I had a cap as to what my monthly payment should be it seemed if he didn't respect my end of the negotiation and we went back and forth. After I said I said I didn't want to go through with the lease he was very rude and I felt like he basically pushed me out the door by saying "I'll walk you out" as soon as I said I don't want the lease. I will never go back there!!!

I bought my new 2013 Subaru Outback from Bertera Subaru in Hartford and love the car. That's not why I'm writing this review though. I got home after buying my car and realized that the Bluetooth had not been connected. I have less mechanical aptitude than about anybody and knew there was no way I could get the Bluetooth to work. I called Bertera that evening and was connected to Isa Daoud because the salesman who sold me the car had left for the day. Would you believe that Isa arranged to meet me in West Hartford that same evening after the dealership had closed so he could connect my Bluetooth. He must have spent almost half an hour with me. As he explained it to me, he always wants to do his best to help any Bertera Subaru customer who has a problem. Because of that and subsequent conversations and meetings with Isa, I can say without any reservation that Isa is the best car salesperson I have ever encountered. Did I neglect to mention that Isa also has a great personality and knows his cars. If you're thinking about purchasing a car, buy a Subaru at Bertera and make sure that Isa Daoud is your salesperson.

I recently bought a car at Bertera Subaru in Hartford and I can't recommend them enough.This was the second vehicle I purchased here. I dealt with the salesman Will Preston and he was what most of us look for in a cars salesman. He wasn't pushy nor did he ever pressure me into a car just because he wanted it off his lot. He lead me in the right directions and let me make my final decision. If you do end up at Bertera I feel comfortable telling you to ask for Will, he will take good care of you.

I just pick-up my new 2015 Subaru Forester - I was very pleased with everything at the dealership. I could tell that the people who work there like their job. That is important to me. I never felt rushed and every question was answered from the time I picked up my car and every day. I can call at any time and get great customer service. What a great experience! I just picked up my 2015 Forester from Bertera in Hartford. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I like a business where you can tell people are happy to work there. Everyone was knowledgeable and willing to do whatever to make sure I was happy. I have always loved Subaru - I am a bit sad that I had to say goodbye to my 2004 Imperza. I did not have a great experience at Bertera Subaru. Issa was polite at first and seemed really helpful. He even half-offered to teach me how to drive a stick when I hadnt realized that one of the dealerships cars Id seen online was a manual-transmission car. My test drive of a used Impreza was good, and he answered my questions. He even found a patch of ice to show me how well it drives in snow, since that was one of my primary concerns. But after we got back inside, I was pressured incessantly, and one of his associates or managers also came in with the intent of getting me to buy that day. Even when I answered Absolutely nothing! to What can we do to get you to buy today?, they did not let up. I was made to feel guilty when I left without buying a car, even though the Impreza wasnt even the car that I showed up with the intention of test driving and I stated from the start that I would not be buying a car that day. If youre looking for a no-pressure-buying situation, I recommend you look elsewhere.

I did my homework and took a while to make up my mind and Damien listened to me , remained in contact without being pushy, and thoroughly explained vehicle options. In short made it well worth the hour drive from Fairfield. Everyone I encountered at the the dealership was friendly and courteous. The facility was quite clean on both my visits. I would definitely purchase a car here again!

I am very pleased with my latest purchase at bertera Subaru. I purchased a 2015 Subaru impreza. I had a few issues with Bertera Subaru of Hartford CT, So I spoke to the sales manager and he set me up with the best salesman to assist me with the purchase of my Subaru. Dan was very helpful, he made me feel comfortable and did not make me feel like I could not walk away from a sale (like my previous salesman at Bertera). He made sure the car I purchased was 100%, he didn't just want to make a sale and get rid of me. Every time I go into Bertera for service or if I have any questions, Dan is always there to talk to and answer my questions. If you are thinking about purchasing a new Subaru, I recommend going to Bertera and asking for Dan Holben!

Bertera Subaru is the best dealership I have ever worked with. I was driving a car that was a mess and was out of options. Damian, my salesperson, Pam, the finance person, and John the General Manager saved me. They called me, emailed and texted me, and worked out a great deal for me at half the interest rate of my previous car. They were kind, caring, professional, and their follow up has been terrific. There was no high pressure sales -- I walked in and drove off the lot two hours later. I would recommend Bertera to anyone and everyone. They are the best!!!!!

I am so happy with my purchase from Bertera Subaru. I worked with Damian, who was my salesperson, Pam in finance, and John, the General Manager contacted me regularly as well. I was driving a car previously that was not safe, and they got me into a 2015 Subaru Impreza at half my previous interest rate, even with a bumpy credit history. They treated me with kindness, professionalism, and courtesy. Everyone who works there greets you with a smile. It was a rewarding experience and I am a customer for life! Decided to take the extra drive to Hartford for one last chance at getting the car I truly wanted after being disappointed by 3 other places, and I'm so happy I did! All the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly from the minute you opened the door, and as soon as I was paired up and sat down with Mike I KNEW I'd be leavin with a new car that day! I was on a tight budget and had a couple other concerns but Mike made everything happen! There was no pressure or coaxing, just straight up person to person conversation and genuine character. I'm so glad I got paired up with Mike, he's awesome! Go down and see him today; you'll leave a happy new driver of a gorgeous new car, AND at a great affordable price, just like I did! :)

I recently purchased a new Forester and I couldn't be happier with it. This is the second vehicle I've acquired from Bertera, deal with Issa both times. Had some problems a couple of years ago with an employee that I'm happy to say, did not last long there. But Issa always made it right and honored the promises made when the vehicle was purchased. I had to bring my 1yr old with me and she had a great time, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. And Pam Sundara, made sure the financial process was quick and smooth. I will definitely be buying from them again when it's time for a new car.

I went to Hartford Subaru looking for a used car. Pauli was very helpful and friendly. He showed me two excellent 2014 Subaru's, and when I drove them, I was hooked! Yet, I had a friend who recommended the West Springfield shop, and I went there, too. They suggested I could get a 2015 Legacy for the same price, so I was sold on that. Justin from Hartford called me, and offered me a deal I could not refuse. I found out that Justin was a friend of my husband's, so I went back to Hartford. Both Justin and Pauli were very helpful in showing me a 2015 Subaru, and they gave me a very good price. Pauli helped me with the paperwork, and I drove away in a brand new beautiful 2015 Legacy. I am very impressed with both Paui's helpfulness and Justin's assistance.

Let me start by saying, "I don't like the car buying process." That's probably why I don't buy a new car very often. But between Mike Beltran (Sales) and Vicki Brogna (Finance), I might have to change my attitude. Both Mike and Vicki made the car buying experience at Bertera Subaru Outlet in Hartford a pleasant one. From the moment my wife and I set foot in the door, Mike was there to greet us. After asking what we were looking for, he showed us multiple vehicles that met our criteria. We locked in on a Quartz Blue Pearl 2015 Subaru Forester Limited. After quickly negotiating a reasonable price, Mike sent us over to Vicki to complete the paperwork. I can't say I've often seen paperwork created quite so fast and efficiently, all the while carrying on a conversation with us. Thanks to Mike and Vicki, we are enjoying our new Forester immensely.

My recent experience with leasing a 2015 Legacy from Bertera was nothing less than truly exceptional. My car shopping started in NY where I am originally from. I fell in love with the 2015 Legacy while there, and knew exactly everything I wanted, down to the color and specific package. As the car is so new, the dealership in NY told me the car could possibly take over a month to locate, I said fine and left a deposit. A week goes by and and I hear nothing from the NY dealership. I was not in a rush to get a car, but the lack of communication from the NY dealer left me weary, so I decide to call around in the Hartford area. I called Bertera Subaru and got connect to Paul, this is where my remarkable experience with Bertera Subaru began. I spoke with Paul on the phone in the early afternoon and told him exactly what I was looking for, he said he would search around and call me by the end of the day if anything turned up. It was not even 20 minutes later that I got a call back from Paul saying he located the exact Legacy model in the color I was looking for. When I got out of work I went straight over to Bertera to speak details with Paul. He proceeded with ordering the car, ensuring it would be on ground at the dealership in under 1 week, unlike the 1+ months the NY dealer told me!! After Paul and the finance managers worked with my credit application to get me approved the very next day, they said the car would be in within 3-4 days. Bertera Subaru not only gave me a better price than the NY dealership, it was only 2 days later that I got a call from Paul saying the car had already came in! I went to pick up the car today and was thrilled with the amount of detail and time that Paul took to show me everything there is to need to know about all of the features and functionalities of the new car. Needless to say, I am extremely satisfied with the professionalism that Paul showed during this sale, he helps give Bertera Subaru a reputable name.

In the long run, it was Win-win..They got the sale and I dove away that day in the car I was looking for..Remember before u criticize a dealership, keep in mind they aren't nonprofit organizations..They may use their sales strategies on you and you may perceive them as sleazy...Think what you will..but the bottom line is..If they're willing to negotiate with you even a little and you get a good price for a great new car...then you win! It took me 6 months to make my decision and he was still as helpful as possible. Unlike other dealers he didn't get mad at me for wanting to shop around before making an important decision. "I love my 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid because: 1. It is interesting and fun to drive based on my 700 miles of driving experience with my new car. After my test drive, I told the Sales Representative that I was in love with the car. Everything is automatic, the ride is pleasant, and the visual field is wide. The wheels charge the battery when I am coasting downhill. When I am driving at a constant speed, both the gasoline engine and the electric motor run the car. When I am driving below 30 mph at a constant speed, the electric motor runs the car. When I am driving uphill, the gasoline engine runs the car. 2. The car is responsive. The car responds very well when I apply steady pressure to the throttle. I obtained improvement after I switched to mid grade (89 Octane). At start-up, I wait for the idle to drop from 2,000 rpm to 1,000 rpm. 3. I get 33 MPG with 87 octane (average for city and highway) - 35 MPG with 89 octane. The 89 octane helps the engine produce a more uniform, simultaneous, and complete combustion of the air and fuel. Utilizing 89 octane is more economical after calculating the difference in price versus the reduction in fuel consumption. 4. The car is nice to look at (it is blue with black accents). 5. It has low emissions. 6. It is comfortable with a practical interior that looks very well. I like the Dealer, Bertera of Hartford - CT, because: 1. Chris Townsend knew my daughter was on a budget and this was her first new car, which we leased an Impreza Hatchback. Chris went above and beyond for us to make things work. Chris even called and texted me on his day off. We did shop other dealerships not all Subaru and chose Bertera because of Chris. I highly recommend Bertera and most important Chrisk Townsend. Found a terrific used 2009 Legacy. Bottom line, is that the price was a fair one. The car was presented well, clean and shiny (not all dealers present like that!) Salesman Chris Townsend was polite and professional. Nice guy. So for the crazy part... when we went to pick up the vehicle,... the battery would not start and the emissions was overdue! This should not have ever happened and the Manager admitted such. So, Chris had the battery replaced on the spot and worked hard to get the emission taken care of. Alls well that ends well.

I have always been told if you have nothing good to say don't say it so we will leave out the other dealerships. What I can say is that from the very start our Sales associate Drew was perfect. No hassles, no pressure, and everything was exactly to way it should be. I traveled all the way from Long Island, NY to purchase my 2014 Subaru Crosstrek Limited. Worth every mile! Our salesman, Ryan Hewey, was extremely knowledgeable, honest, and one of the most naturally helpful people I have ever come across. This is a revision of my original review. Initially I rove up (after calling) to look at a car they had listed in their inventory. When I got there, the salesman informed me that the car was in fact a manual not automatic (it is for my son who hasn't learned how to drive a stick). We looked over the rest of their inventory in their system and I picked a different car to look at. The salesman could not find it on the lot and it turned out that the car had been sold. I was pretty annoyed at wasting my time at a dealer a significant distance from my home.The salesman I was working with contacted me and gave me several additional alternatives. We agreed on one and I went up to look at it. After some discussion back and forth, I bought it.Major props to the dealer for going the extra mile to turn a bad experience into a good one, and earn a loyal customer in the process.

I recently purchased a used 2013 Subaru Forester from Bertera Motors, the car was in excellent condition and fairly priced, I had a great sales experience with Issa, my only concern was the amount of time spent going back and forth with my trade in, I felt it was a bit much, the car came with the remaining factory warranty intact and I also purchased an extended warranty. all in all I am very satisfied with the car and would like to thank Issa for taking the time to make my experience a good one.

When my wife and I walked in, we were greeted warmly by Dan who allowed us to shop under no pressure. We were pretty sure what we wanted, a 2014 XV Crosstrek Limited. We wanted a black one and one wasn't in stock. So we waited and the car came in a little earlier than expected. Pick up was smooth, a few minor problems were on our end. Liked working with Vicki in the finance department. We bought a Gold + warrantee, 7 years/100,000 miles that I'm a little unsure about but time will tell. Overall, very satisfied with the experience. Great car, professional service, just what I'd expect from a dealership.

Sent an online inquire about one of their used vehicles on a Saturday night. Someone from the online dept. contacted me the very next day before 12 pm via phone call, text & email. I went to the dealership that same day and looked at the car. My salesman O'neil Mcdonald took me for a test drive. He was low-pressure and just gave his opinion when asked. He negotiated to get me a fair price for my trade-in + fair value for the vehicle I purchased. I ended up purchasing the vehicle 2-3 days later. Great dealership, clean & neat.

Avoid Hartford Bertera at all costs. I had a terrible time with Bertera. They do business in a sleazy way, and at one point they even flat out lied to me. Do NOT trust Issa Daoud. Do Not trust Justin Kudelka. They are both shady. My family is a long time Subaru customer and we have never seen or heard of anyone doing business as poorly as Bertera. I was all set to lease a vehicle from Bertera and they quoted a price to me. They then had me pay a down payment. Then they had me call up insurance. Issa then began asking about co-signers. I then asked if there was a problem with credit and the price, so that I could stop the down payment and stop the phone call to the insurance company. He then assured me that everything was alright and we would make that price work. As a result I completed the down payment and then signed up for insurance and paid for insurance. Afterwards Issa informed me thatactually we cant make that Price work, and offered me a different much higher price. I informed him that I could not and then asked that my down payment be refunded. Hartford Bertera then held on to my down payment for almost a FULL WEEK which left me cash strapped. This tactic made it difficult to search for another vehicle, as my cash was still being held on to by Bertera. Luckily I was able to find a great car at Suburban Subaru in Vernon. They did business in a great and honest way and I am happily driving my new Impreza. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HARTFORD BERTERA.

Service tech switched my words around and then claims they can only drive the car under "normal driving" conditions however the previous time I went there the service consultant said he drove my car hard every time! I am actually looking to buy a 2015 wrx and WILL NOT be going to Bertera. I also called and left a message for the service manager and of course, he didn't call back.

My wife and I had been shopping around for a Subaru Outback. Knowing we were visiting family in the Hartford area we sent an email off to Bertera. Tim replied in about 15 minutes and thats when all the magic began. We emailed Tim many questions and he promptly answered them. Finally we met Tim at the dealership. Tim is the man!! Not only is he smart, but he is creative as well. We wanted leather in our car but could not afford the limited price tag. Tim made a call and came up with the idea of swapping the seats out on a Premium level for leather. The interior color of the car is tan. We have 2 boys. We wanted black seats but were hesitant and couldn't visualize the look. Tim pointed out that the carpet is black, the doors are two tone and the dash is black. He promised us black seats would look better. He was absolutely right. The seats are amazing! They look factory installed and the black leather really completes the car. It looks sportier and more upscale than the cloth tan. We are from Westchester NY, on a lark we happened to stumble across Bertera and Tim. Not only did we get the exact car that we wanted, we got the best price. No other dealer came close to the low price we paid (and we looked all over Westchester county) and nobody had the creative leather idea. Tim works very closely with Chris who is his F and I man. Chris got us an unbelievable finance rate. These two coupled together made for an unbelievable purchasing experience. I highly recommend you give Tim a call or shoot him an email. Subaru makes a great car and Tim makes it even better!

I worked with Dan to help my mother purchase an Outback at a fair price. The deal was that all she would have to do is sign the paperwork, write a check, and pick up the car. Dan was great but I was disappointed to hear that my mother was pawned off on another salesperson (or manager) in an effort to sell her other things such as extended warranties, etc. when she went to pick up the car. This tainted the purchasing experience that we agreed to.

No question was left unanswered, he was clear and concise. We left very pleased, meeting our expected price goal, and happily venturing the roads in a new 2014 Crosstrek!

Quick overview of me...I am a widow of 2.5 years [38 yrs of marriage]. My husband did all mechanical work, mechanic on the side, he knew all there was to know about cars. I lost him, then lost my job working for city after 25 yrs through a scam, which caused me to be extremely behind in bill paying, had to apply for state assistance, it was a total nightmare. Unfortunately my credit went right down the tubes. My son had a near death accident which caused a total out of my 2007 Rav 4..with no credit, I had to pay 17.5% interest on a 2004 Ford Focus. I have been looking, researching for another car now that I am fully retired with full benefits. I paid off all my past bills but not enough time has transpired since I did it all in August.I was listening to the radio Veteran's day weekend and heard the advertisement of Bertera Subaru of Hartford...internet deals, etc...so I took a ride on Veteran's Day and have been so excited since!! Dan Holben was the salesman assigned to me. How blessed I am to have Dan assist me!! He worked very hard with the help of Chris Piteo to get me into the 2011Subaru Legacy I had wanted. Pam Sandara could not have been anymore cordial, accommodating and just the nicest person to deal with regarding financing. She explained everything so thoroughly and accurately. I had the pleasure of being greeted by Amber and Melissa when I entered the dealership on my recent three visits. I could not be happier with my car from Bertera. My salesperson Daniel made the whole process pain free. He helped me find a great car that was perfect for me, and took his time to make sure I got everything I was looking for and kept me in my price range. He was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and made the entire experience pleasant. Financing was quick and easy, as well as trading in my car. Wanted to purchase something on the more economical end and also have AWD capabilities. Always driven trucks my whole life, I was unsure of what avenue to go down. Subaru was my first choice, as they are known for their AWD, amongst other things. I spoke with Nik via email from Bertera Subaru of Hartford, CT (not to be confused with the West Springfield location) and he was very helpful trying to find me the car that I was looking for. Being an out-of-state potential purchaser, I had issues with driving down there, unless I had the information I needed their cars, the vehicles were available on their lot and the numbers were in a good avenue. I visited them on a Wednesday and was greeted in a nice fashion and treated well overall. The process was a bit pushed from the get-go and there was really no incentive to purchase from them vs. a local competitor; they didn't give me anything extra. Having excellent credit, I figured I was going to be financed through Subaru directly; this was not the case. They chose a bank that does their auto loans out of New York, which is a hassle to pay overall; the rate was the same, but regardless. Also, I purchased an extended warranty; wasn't given any options, but one. Was planning on cancelling when I found many options were available; would've been nice to know what there was to offer through Subuar. Further, there were some issues that arose afterwards where the communication seemed to stop after the sale. They were attempted to be discussed, instead excuses arose. Keeping a dealership honest is not having to haggle for a customers business, there should be incentives--we all know these vehicles are marked up higher. I attempted to contact the dealer manager and he claimed he would call me and he never did. I will never deal with this dealership ever again and it was over small issues. It's all about making the customer feel welcome and a pain-free experience, not just "another sale." Found out after, if I had shopped around, could've gotten the same price for my trade and a better deal on the purchased vehicle, closer to home--my fault.

Purchasing a car can be stressful, but Dan H. made it pretty easy for us. He was patient with my wife and me when we needed time to talk things over privately, and he answered all of our questions no matter how stupid they were. We didn't feel like there were games being played with us, and we feel we got a fair deal. That's how the car-buying experience should be to be, right?

What made buying this car so pain free was our sales person. He took an extra step to find us a car that fit out needs and price range. It was a Saturday and all of a sudden I saw the dealership was closed. Our salesman, Neal never skipped a beat and didn't leave our side until he was sure we understood all the buttons and lights. Got my first and second service there. And both times oil on door handle , oil on window shield were They put mileage sticker. 100.00 for oil change and thy don't wash your car. Felt like kids were working on my car.

I took my Subaru in for it's 30,000 mile check up. almost $900.00 later, i got it back. NOTHING was the matter with it, no issues, no problems, NADA ZIP ZERO WRONG the ONLY thing i actually asked them to do (outside of the check up) was to give me new windshield wipers. When I initially called to set up an appointment, they told me i'd have to leave my car but they'd give me a loaner. They gave me a loaner all right AND CHARGED ME $27.00 (or $37.00, I've forgotten by now) for it. I was SO angry I didn't even say anything becuase if I did, I'm sure law enforcement would have to be called. I've read the other reviews and most are for buying cars from them. I don't know anything about that end of it. I DO know I will NEVER take my Subaru back to them.

He was very helpful and went out of his way to give me the best knowledge about the cars I was looking at, and let me test drive a few. Although I didn't wind up buying a Subaru, I would come back to Bertera in Hartford and ask for Dan in the future

I've never bought a car before - I've had mostly "hand-me-downs." Was really not looking forward to the stereotypical car salesman experience - pushy, up-selling options I didn't want, and haggling over the price. After much research I walked into Bertera. Salesperson Dan H. introduced himself and took us on two test drives. He was knowledgeable but laid back. Ultimately we decided on purchasing a Subaru Forester. Dan was helpful in handling the process and we feel we reached a fair price quite efficiently. Picking up the car was smooth as well. A great experience - will definitely be back when my husband is ready to purchase.

I visited a few other dealerships before Bertera looking for a used car. I could not find a used car I liked; all these other deals let me walk off the lot without offer other suggestions or offering to work with me on alternate solutions. Bertera didn't have used car I liked either. Ready to leave Dan and his manager dug deeper and inquired as to why I we were unable to make a deal. Hearing my reasons, mostly money and a little bit car style, the Bertera team were sure they could make those hurdles a on-issue. And indeed they did. We found a new 2013 that had all the features I was looking for and mostly within my budget. Though they were very friendly and helpful, I felt like I was there for a very lengthy amount of time and began to get frustrated with paperwork re-dos due to lack of attention to detail. There were also delays in the loan office; the woman seemed "lost" and made simple math errors on the paperwork causing re-dos. Come to find out picking up the car the next day, the loan office still failed to have the proper address on the paperwork. The were corrected and reprinted again. Overall I believe the price was fair, a little on the high side (but that maybe partly my fault, too); like I said, mostly within my budget. We worked with each other.Dan was great. He was friendly, informative and helpful. He wasn't a bad passenger on the test drive either :)Overall, I think this was my best car buying experience.

Bertera Subaru is a great dealership. My salesperson Dan was very helpful and there were no games, or unwanted add-ons and haggling. He was enthusiastic and friendly. Financing was pain-free and relatively quick. I'm very satisfied with my new car and know I'll return for my next purchase.

A few months ago, we purchased a 2014 Forester at another dealership in CT, which was extremely unpleasant, and listening to a person at Finance was similar to sitting in a pressure cooker, because of which we decided to avoid the same dealership when my wifes car was totaled unexpectedly this time. We, indeed, had a rather pleasant experience at the Bertera Subaru, Hartford. Colby Johnstone, sales representative, was a sweet and knowledgeable, young gentleman, and our buying an XV Creosstrek went through a smooth and relaxed process without going through a major hassle or pressure, which was also orchestrated in a similar way by Chris, the general manager, and Pam at the Finance. The latter two were such wonderful people, and their attitude was professional and courteous. The dealership was quite spacious. Further, Colby took a time to go over the handling of the 2013 XV Crosstrek very thoroughly, even installing my wifes smart phone to the system of the car. Do we recommend the place to people who are interested in purchasing a Subaru? Absolutely, yes, which is the only succinct way of expressing our whole experience at the Bertera Subaru, Hartford.

We visited this dealership on Sunday, August 4, 2013. We arrived at 4:50, and asked to see a salesperson. The manager called over a salesperson and made it a point to tell us that they close at 5:00 and that they would be closing right at 5:00 because he was taking his wife out to dinner had had to travel an hour to get home. He then proceeded to tell our salesperson to expedite the process of showing us a car. I told the salesperson how shocked I was that the manager said all this, and he said that they do a lot for their customers, but one thing they would not do is stay late for a customer. This is such a contrast to a dealership that we had been to the day before where the sales person said that he had recently stayed until 10:00 even they closed at 8:00 so that he could close a deal and do the paperwork. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this dealership, nor would I recommend to anyone.

Great experience and great service. I live in Massachusetts and my dealer, Dan, drove to the Springfield RMV and my insurance company in order to get all the documents in order. My mother had purchased a new Outback a couple months prior and they gave her a referral bonus when I purchased my new Legacy.

The best experience that I have ever had buying a car (for me or family). Dan was an outstanding salesman. I never felt like I was getting the run around. I would highly recommend him for sales.He is a great guy as well. I don't think I would have bought the care from Bertera Subaru if it wasn't for Dan.

Service was OK I had the car in for routine service and ended up with a gauge in my rim (it was fixed after a fight). Buying process was good but once I went back to return my leased car no one and I mean no one wanted to talk to me, It took me 4 tries to get one of the sales people to take my car back and thats after calling for a separate appointment. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE !!! I will never go back to them again ... Try Suburban Subaru in Vernon CT instead much nice

Dan was a pleasure to deal with. He is not your typical "used car salesman". He went out of his way to tie up some loose ends that came up at the last minute. He ensured that the vehicle was prepped to his standards. When he found some items that were not satisfactory, he made sure that the item was addressed. I would definitely recommend dealing with Dan.

I came into Bertera searching for the "new car that I've always wanted". Something sporty and reliable. My salesperson Dan was very friendly and knowledgeable about all of the cars and was very thorough in explaining the benefits of my interest in Imprezas. I test drove a couple during my visit. Although I wound up buying a car that was not a Subaru.... I would come back in the future and ask for Dan if considering one.

Just bought my second Legacy form this dealership...worked with Issa Daoud both times. Issa treats you like a friend...always looking out for you...very knowledgeable and takes his time with you and explains whats going on every step of the way...no pressure at all...makes you feel comfortable with the process. Excellent Top Quality Experience/ I had a disappointing experience at another dealership. I was received a mailer from Subaru and was reluctant to go in to view other vehicles. I was the owner of a good operating 2001 Jeep and a 1999 Saab. I had just assisted my niece in her college education. She was the eldest of 11 children and first to graduate . I now had extra money and wanted to get something for myself. I have always been a Jeep girl. My coworker had just purchased a new Outback and she was thrilled. I decided that I wanted a new Jeep Grand Cherokee only and instead of trading in mine I would surprise my sister who has 11 children with my old Jeep. From the moment I called I spoke with Daniel and he was very attentive to what I was looking for.He was very courteous on the phone and I felt encouraged to come in and look at the vehicles available. I must be honest , in the back of my mind I thought it was just another mailer scam to get you in,hype you up on a vehicle, review your situation say sorry "we can't help you". Daniel obliterated all of that with his excellent customer service . He called and confirmed my appointment several times in just days between the setup and actual date. I thought maybe they do care if I come in or not.I arrived at the dealership to immediate smiles , welcomes and peppermint candies. There was no milling around by salespeople and avoidance or trying to to pick out definite buyers like I imagined. Daniel came immediately with the firmest handshake and a friendly smile. He was limping and all but I felt like the only customer in there. I explained my credit was not the best and I haven't had a car payment in 6 years. I want a Jeep and I want it to be worth making a car payment because that is what I want to do with my extra money.Daniel showed me a nice Patriot that they had there. I told him I am stuck on the Grand Cherokee. He got together with Justin. It was wonderful to see the teamwork to make sure I was satisfied. I felt special. I felt like I was paying in cash with an 850 rating. They were awesome. They found the perfect fit for me. I made a deposit and came to see the vehicle a couple days later within an hour of delivery to them. Pam got all the necessary paperwork together. It was wonderful to see them work as a team to "get it done." They knew my name everytime I called or came in. Everyone was pleasant when I called in and I will be referring anyone that I know who needs a new/used vehicle.In conclusion, I took the time to give a full detailed description of my experience because it restored my faith in good "old school" top quality customer service. They listened to my story and made it work. My interest rate may be a little higher but so what! I can give my 2001 Jeep to my sister that is on a fixed income with 11 children and she will feel that it is just as new as my 2009 Jeep. That makes me happy as a big sis! If you go to Bertera, John Hawkins is the guy you want to work with. He is honest, straightforward, and very knowledgeable. He will break down the features of the vehicle item by item and then give you the bottom line on what features you really want to have and which ones you might not actually need. You dont have to worry about him playing games with you like you might get at other car dealerships.Great guy. I would work with him again.

I bought an Impreza Sport at Bertera Subaru. I wasn't sure if i wanted the sport or just the regular hatch. Dan was patient and explained the differences to me and never seemed to be pushing me one way or another. He made me feel comfortable, answering all of my questions. I went to this dealership 3 months ago to look at a new Subaru, and although they had the exact car that I was looking for in stock and they offered me a great price but I did not purchase it at that time because I did not have my financing in order. Having said that when I visited them the first time which was three months ago, I found them to be very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the product. They did not pressure me to purchase right there and then like the other Subaru dealer I had visited earlier that day. So last week when I was ready to purchase my new Subaru I decided to go to another Hartford area dealer first to check out the inventory and sure enough they did not have many vehicles in stock plus I did not like their tactics trying to push me in to a vehicle I did not want, so I left and went back to Bertera remembering my experience there few months ago. When I got there I noticed the salesperson that I had talked to the first time around and to my surprise he noticed me and remembered my first name(very impressive).He had the exact color I was looking for and offered me the car for $500 less than last time because the incentives had gone up. I did end up purchasing the car and found Bertera to have a no pressure, friendly atmosphere. While I was waiting for them to prepare the paperwork I also overheard other customers admiring their repair shop. I guess I'll find that out first hand when I go back there for service.

Last year I bought a used Infiniti G35x from Bertera Subaru in Hartford and really had a great experience. Issa, my salesman, was patient with me while I test drove different cars on my own until I chose which one I wanted. He made the car buying process as fun as it should be. Once I dealt with finance, the process went very smoothly and I was out the door by the afternoon!I'm writing this now because I've been blown away by their service department. They give me friendly reminders of when my car needs to be brought in, and always remember my name, family and small things about me. They really make you feel comfortable and at ease, even though it's a very large dealership. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a new car or a place to get their car serviced!

In my 40 years of buying cars from dealers this has been my worst experience ever, from being told one thing and another happening, very poor communication and not getting back to me (five days now) after reporting three big things wrong with the car, not having it out the door ready (no inspection sticker still) delivering it a week after they received their money I could go on and on

I went to this dealer last weekend and had the best experience. I walked in and was greeted immediately, we started talking and got to business. Unfortunately the salesman I originally started talking to got busy and another picked up where he left off. Thankfully this other salesman was just as knowledgeable and knew exactly what I was looking for. I drove home in my new car that night! The entire staff was friendly and they catered to me as well as my kid, so I could focus on the car deal. I would and will recommend this dealer to anyone I meet! Great job and ill be back!!!

After having some quality issues with my original purchase from Subaru, both Nick and the owner of Bertera went way out of their way and helped to negotiate a new vehicle from Subaru of America. I not only got a new vehicle that was 100% perfect, I also got put in to a much nicer model of car. I had an excellent experience when I visited Bertera Subaru to purchase my new car. I went into the dealer not expecting to find anything that I would like that day. But my sales person Keniel Williams was excellent. He explained all of the great features of each car and did not pigeon hole me into one vehicle. He let the ultimate decision be mine, and allowed me to feel comfortable. Keniel was very knowledgeable, and patient. I was only at the dealer for a short period of time, and was able to walk out with my brand new Outback. I will definitely visit Bertera again for my future purchases. My car is running great, and I couldnt be happier about my decision to purchase it!

I had been searching online for weeks for a used vehicle. When one popped up it was at Bertura Subaru in Hartford but I was all the way in Rhode Island. decided to drive down as their internet price almost seemed too good to be true. Took the ride to Ct and was so impressed with Bertera I would definitely tell anyone to take the drive, it's worth it! So many vehicles on the lot to chose from and pricing excellent! Dealership is impressive. I had Issa Daoud as my sales rep and he was outstanding! He went over and beyond his duty to please me and in the end I got a beautiful car at a great price. Issa is not your typical car salesman. He spent time with us and listened to our requests. Overall wonderful experience!! I have already told people in RI to look up Issa and take the drive to Bertera Subaru! I will definitely be back!

Our salesman was absolute fantastic but once the sales manager "Justin" came to his desk and sat down with us the transaction went completely downhill from there. It was the worse service we have ever had from a manager level. He was disrespectful to our salesman, condenscending toward us, overly outspoken and extremely non-caring. We put a $250 credit card deposit on a Kia Sorento and he was reluctant to sign something that if we can't come to terms we would get a full refund. When we walked out of there that evening we felt completely unsatisfied and uncomfortable with his entire attitude enough that the very next day I called for my refund back and never even so much as got a call back from him to apologize. We felt terrible for our salesman because he was awesome.

Honestly, we were not looking forward to the time we would have to spend purchasing a new car on our Saturday off but from the time we pulled into Bertera and Issa Daoud met us at the door with a big smile and friendly, non-pushy nature we felt comfortable. He was patient and knowledgeable about the car we were looking to buy and while we were discussing different styles, options, colors ect...he listened to both of us and never pushed his opinion on us. Issa Daoud was incredibly honest and straightforward in dealing with me in my search for a replacement for my 2006 Subaru Legacy. There was no pressure, and he even suggested some options that I might NOT want which allowed me to feel more trust than I might otherwise with a car salesperson! So low-pressure, no sales hype, honest dealing, as well as my previous experience with Subaru led me to purchase a new Outback from Issa. He treated me like a respected person, not just a sales prospect. I value that highly.

Dan Holben gave us one set of numbers for add-on options, but the final contract listed higher numbers. When we asked why the change, he simpered and said, "Oh gosh, I must have made a mistake." So either he lied, or he's incompetent.Holben also told us that the financing was 1.9%. When we went to sign the final paperwork, the finance manager said, "Oh gosh, that's not right. bought my first used car from them, the car was in good condition but it looks like they never even inspected the car first so i had to go back to fix a couple things before the 60 days was up. other than that i love my subaru.

I purchased a new 2013 Legacy in Nov 2012. Excellent sales experience, excellent price caused me to buy here although I live in Hamden and there are closer dealers. I also purchased the service plan - still not sure that it was the right decision. I just reached the first oil change interval today and called the service department since I would be traveling fairly close to the dealership. They told me to come down and then got me in and out within 30 minutes. Can't ask for more than that.

Went in to dealership not really knowing what I was looking for. My salesperson showed me a used forester and it was just the car I needed. My salesperson was so knowledgable about the product he was selling it made my decision easy and I took the car home that day! It was the best car buying experience ever......at no point did I feel even the least bit pressured. Thank you Bertera Subaru!

My first time dealership experience was a nightmare! I was bullied when I first got my car by the sales manager and had to tell him NOT to yell or represent the employee selling me the car that what I was asking him during the sale was my request and nothing advised by him. I was asking for a $500 deduct to be deducted form the '09 Pontiac Vibe because a shop I had inspect it said the tires were going bald. Chris Piteo towered over me and yelled, "Well who do you think will pay this price difference" and I said, "are you asking me this because I am here to buy a car not decide how your business does its finances, do you want to sell me the car at this price or not?"I dealt with this shop for about a year before I decided I would let them take advantage of me no longer.The employee who sold me my car, O'Neal was GREAT and continued to check up on me and I feel he did his job as good as he could working for a company that is not entirely honest and does not practice good business. I signed a tire warranty with them that after so many miles/time + all services with them= an entire set of new tires. I thought this deal was too good to be true but I trusted them and continued to have all my servicing with them despite moving from Hartford to New Haven. Every time I went I would ask if I was in good shape and doing all I needed to do to stay under warranty and they always said YES. Then after about a year when I was less then 100 mils away form the new set of tires I was told that I could not get the warranty because I did not have EVEN WARE on my tires. I was shocked because I was just in less then a month ago for a oil change and tire rotation and they said nothing about not qualify for the tires. I had been cheated and they gave me a free car wash before telling me this information so I knew something was up.DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP they will tell you what they have to get your money and business but not honest and straight forward. Don't waste your money.

They just jacked up the price of a used car that they have had on the lot for 5 months by $500. I went in to by that car. The Car fax showed that the car had stood on lots for nearly 2 years. There were issues with the car that they did not acknowledge. It was 1/2 hour before closing and they were tuning out the lights. Hence we assumed that they did not want to sell a car that day. That is OK we found an equivalent car at less than 1/2 the price by going private. Totally unprofessional!!

After discussing a new Outback with O'Neal over the phone he invited to the store to get pricing. I did and he gave me a very fair price. BUT, he insisted I provide a credit card as a down payment on an Outback that I was not completely sure I was ready to buy. I knew the model I wanted but not the color nor did I pick out a specific vehicle. I wanted to discuss the purchase with my wife, who was at home, because the price was higher than what we previously discussed. I was reluctant to provide the credit card but I did after I was reassured that the deposit was refundable. I called back the next day and informed O'Neal that I can't make the purchase explaining that I want to make the purchase in 8 weeks when I receive a salary bonus. I asked for a refund. After berating me and finally telling me to take my business elsewhere he said he will issue a refund. I called back the next day and the refund was not processed. A short, professional discussion followed with their very nice receptionist. I explained the situation to her and she said she will process my refund. Sadly, this would be the easiest sale in 8 weeks. He did not have to take me for a test drive, I knew the options I wanted, and I was pleased with the price so I knew I did not have to shop elsewhere. Heck, I even understood that I may have to buy at a a higher price in 8 weeks and I told him that, too. But the change in attitude and his aggressive, negative tone when I said I wanted to wait was very unprofessional and uncalled for. He had no respect for the potential customer's decision. He just wanted to make a sale, not earn a customer. He was gives car salespeople a bad reputation and poorly represented Subaru. I was embarrased for him. That dealership lost out on a long term relationship. I also contacted Subaru of America.

I started my buying process by visiting Bertera to ask questions and test drive an Outback. Salesperson George helped me out. I told him that Outback are high on my list but I am looking at other cars and I am planning to buy in 60 to 90 days. He answered my questions, was very knowledgeable about his product and competing products, and was very low pressure. The test drive went well. I was please with my first experience with Bertera.

Said they would match any financing available, they did not. Vehicle was not ready the day they said it would be, rather 2 days later. After paperwork, and transferring plates, not using old plates, took a total of 6 days. They also charge over 2,000 dollars for buying a vehicle listed online if you go in just to test drive it.

Issa met me at the door and was helpful and attentive throughout the process. I was only "Shopping", not intending to make a immediate purchase but he helped me quickly make a decision to buy that night. We had stopped taking our Subaru's to Berterra for servicing but Issa has convinced us to work with the service department at Berterra again. When my husband and I went to pick up the car, he carefully explained all the features again and made very sure that I had my BlueTooth connection set up. He took my husband and I to meet the service staff and made us feel very comfortable. He has called me several times since that day to ensure that I was happy with my Forester and did not have any additional questions.Thank you, Issa, for making the purchase of my new car a simple and satisfying decision.

A family member recently purchased a car from this dealership and there were several issues that irked me concerning the handling of the purchase of the car. I accompanied the family member when he picked up his new Subaru. This was a new car purchase and the family member was a younger first time buyer. That being said, it would seem that the salesman and the financial officer would have walked through the process with the buyer but they did not. First, the buyer left the showroom without a single piece of paper. No figures, no description of the purchase, nothing. Granted the buyer should have asked for the deal in writing but what is wrong with the salesman. Iwould think that they have a legal obligation to disclose this information to the buyer. This was the first sign of trouble. Secondly when the car arrived at the dealership, the salesman called and asked if the buyer wanted to pick up the car that night without giving any type of information for the buyer to obtain car insurance - nothing!! The salesman should have told the buyer the information necessary to purchase car insurance, i.e. VIN number etc. Just "come pick up your new car". Thirdly, when the buyer went into see the financial officer to sign the papers, the officer changed the length of the loan and the interest rate of the loan and the lending institution without informing the buyer or at least giving the buyer the option of changing the terms of the loan. When it was brought to his attention, he said he did it "to make the payments more "do-able". This should have been presented to the buyer and let the buyer make an informed decision - not "oh by the way, we extended the loan by 6 months and changed the interest rate by .5%" Finally, a week later, we find out that the dealer was to have the buyer sign necessary paperwork from the insurance agent. This paperwork was never seen at the signing of the papers. Fortunately, the car was insured and he was not driving without insurance. For these reasons, I would strongly suggest seeking out another Subaru dealership or if you do purchase a vehicle, be aware of these issues.

When my daughter and I came in to the dealership, we didn't expect to buy a new car at such a great price. Issa was wonderful! He was very kind, accommodating and flexible working with us, answering all the questions we had. He took the time to show my daughter the basics of the car and even helped her with a couple of settings! He also showed us the service area and introduced us to a few individuals who were there - no one ever has done that. What a great team of individuals you have! It was nice to see customers who brought their car in for service to stop by and just say hello to Issa who also took a couple of seconds to acknowledge them - that alone says a lot about the person you're dealing with. He's genuine! We mostly appreciate the fact to know that we can turn to Issa for assistance at any time and that Bertera Subaru will be there for us as well. When my husband and I started shopping for a Subaru we did quite a bit of research. We initially went to a Subaru dealership closer to our home. Unfortunately the customer service at that dealership was very poor. We felt that they were rude and condescending to us and they even went as far as to bad mouth other dealerships. They basically told my husband and I that we would be back begging for their "low price". I was frustrated and not wanting to deal with anymore "shady car salesmen" but my husband convinced me to come to Bertera with him and meet with Sabrina. I am so glad we did. Sabrina was WONDERFUL!! She showed us exactly what we were looking for and didn't try to pressure us for extras. When we decided on a vehicle they pretty much honored a price we were quoted on the internet even though the vehicle I picked had a few small extras. There was NO HAGGLING, NO back and forth for the best price and ultimately the price and customer service was 150% better than what we experienced at the other dealership. We are now trying to convince some friends and family to check out this dealership as well. I will definitely recommend Bertera to anyone looking for a new car and would absolutely return for all my future car buying needs.

All of the salespeople I encountered were friendly and accommodating, especially Liz who sold me the Impreza I'm now in love with. Even when I encountered minor brake and headlight issues a few days after the purchase, the service department was very willing to fit me into a busy day to address my concerns at no cost. The car itself is everything I expected and more prior to purchase. I've definitely recommended the dealership to friends since my experience at Bertera.

Sabrina helped us select a car rather than sells us a car. This is a BIG difference. She asked us what we wanted and found some that we liked . Once we decided what we wanted she got the vehicle from another dealer. She was very patience, professional, and courteous. The day we purchased the car she sent an e-mail thanking us.Once the car arrived at the dealer she sent us the sticker so we would be sure that was what we wanted.When we went to the dealer she very patiently explained all the features to our satisfaction. She called again the night after we bought the car and said if there were any problems or questions to please call her. Overall this was a veery pleasant experience.

I had been looking for used Rogues for a while, with low mileage. I found most dealers, Nissan or not, telling me what I needed, instead of listening to what I had to say! I saw a Rogue at Bertera, went in and it was a very easy experience which says alot b/c I do not know many dealers who don't pressure you!

I had been shopping for a used car had been to schaler and crowley both of which had terrible service and judgemental sales people. Went in on sat morning and even with not great credit... they had me in the car of my choice and out the door in 1 hour. Very helpful friendly and respectful staff. I have never in my life had a better car buying experience. These guys are GREAT!!!! ps got to work and a coworker told me thats where she bought her car and also loved it. Definately am a Bertera customer for life.

These people play games!I located a vehicle on the USAA Member wesbsite and sent an email inquiring with the dealership. The car I was interested in was a 2006 Acura and the email advised them of that. I should have known something was up when a sales woman called back and made no mention of the 06, but said they had some 09's available. I went alone without my husband that afternoon to look at the 06 they had listed. When I mentioned to "Nick" which one I was interested in he said he would have to check because sometimes the websites are not updated. He had me sit and wait and about 10 minutes later he came back and said that they still had it but that it was having work done to it at the Acura dealership and wanted to know when me and my husband would be available to come back. I had already told him that I wanted to look at the vehicle before I bothered bringing my husband all the way up there to look at something I might not even like. Nick said he would call me when the car was back from the Acura dealer. That night the female sales person called my husband and wanted to schedule an appointment. Again, she did not mention anything about the 06 Acura that we were interested in. Why would we waste our time making an appointment when the vehicle we wanted wasn't even there?The next morning she left a message again! We happened to be going next store to CarMax anyhow, so while we were there I called and asked if the 06 Acura was there. I couldn't remember the lady's name so I said to just call me and tell me if it's there. Instead they called my husband and asked if we could come down. My husband said yes, since we were right next door. Two minutes later the guy called back and said the 06 Acura had been sold. FUNNY how it suddenly was sold when it had supposedly been having work done at the dealership the day before! And by the way, it's still listed on their website which obviously does not get updated. It looks like the game they are running is to just get you down there regardless of whether the vehicle you want is there or not. Don't waste your time!

I had been looking online for a used Honda Civic for a weeks. I wanted to make sure I got the most car for my money. I was looking around on this site, very easy to use, and I saw one at Bertera Subaru. The price on it was good so I called in. I spoke with Nik who was very knowledgable and helpful. He set up an appointment with me for the next day for the test drive. I really liked the car but was unsure if the price was right for my budget. We worked out a price and a payment that worked for me and I couldn't be happier. It was a really great experience. I am at the dealership getting my first oil change and I wanted to take a second to share my experience that I had buying my vehicle here. I was in the market for a new Subaru but was a little apprehensive about heading to a dealer because of previous bad experiences. Let me just say that Bertera has changed my idea of car buying. They were from the moment I walked in, warm, friendly, and attentive. I was offered some coffee and water and was seated next to a beautiful fireplace and was told a sales person would be over to help me in a moment. Chris Ledoux than came over introduced himself and immediatly got me laughing and feeling comfortable. We sat down, discussed everything I did want and everything I did not really need as well as where I wanted to be pricewise. I told him that I was trying to downsize from my Escape but still wanted some cargo space and a sporty feeling vehicle. He directed me over to an Impreza Sport, and I was in love. It was everything that I wanted, and I felt like he really listened to what I wanted and didn't try to push me into something that wasn't right for me. The floor model was loaded up with leather and a navigation system, which I did not think I wanted, or could really afford. He than told me he could get me one with all the features I did want (heated seats and bluietooth)that would fit my budget. We worked out a great deal and within a few hours I was driving home in my new Subaru. The process was so fun, relaxed and easy. I will never go anywhere else again to buy vehicle and I am telling all my friends who are in the market to buy a vehicle to come to Bertera and buy. From the front desk, to the managers, to service, everyone is so nice and helpful. You will not be dissapointed!

I went to Bertera looking for a used vehicle. I had previously been searching for a better car for my family but because of past credit issues i was turned down by some dealers. I received a letter in the mail from Bertera Subaru stating that I had been approved...etc.... So I decided to go down to see what this was about nd if there was some kind of "catch" to it. When I arrived at the dealership I was immediately greeted by a kind gentleman named Issa Daoud. I told him why I was there gave him the letter and he began to work with me, he asked me what I was looking for and I told him about a few cars I had seen on-line and was interested in. Issa was very helpful in helping me choose the right vehicle for me, and from the time I arrived until the time i left the deaership he worked with me and kept me informed step by step, no pressure,even when it came to down payment. Most importantly Issa made me feel like I belonged there because when you have credit problems it,s hard and all the other places I had recently been to mde me feel like I was not important enough to work with, some of them never even bothered to call me back, which is very poor customer service. When I talked to Issa he let me know that I wasn,t alone that they get many customers with my kind of issue and they do all they can to help. and he did just that! I had been looking at used cars for 3 months and could not find the right car for what I could afford.A coworker who had purchased a car from Bertera reffered me there.After checking out their inventory on line I decided to take ride there and check ou couple of cars.To make the long story short I found a car that Iliked and they were more than willing to work with me on the price so I could afford it.The whole process took little over an hour.I picked up my car the next day and coujld not be happier with my choice of the car and dealership.In all of my car buying experience this was far the best.I will definitely go back for my next car.From what my friend told me their service department is also great.

Thanks to Issa Daoud, my experience with Bertera of Hartford was very pleasant. Issa is very professional and patiently answered my many questions and allowed me to test drive different models, providing clear instructions. When I returned the next day with my daughter and son-in-law, I changed my selection from an Impreza to a Legacy due to family needs. Issa graciously handled the change and quickly arranged for the color and features I desired within my price-range. I love my new Legacy and enjoyed a smooth and quite ride with my family to upstate N.Y. last weekend. I had peace of mind despite the threat of stormy weather, that my car could handle it. We enjoyed the roomy rear seats and the heated front seats. However, I guess I'll just have to get used to all the admiring stars of my beautiful Icy Grey Legacy receives. I've always wanted to buy a vehicle during a "President's Day Sale and this was my chance! We had a "family day" at Bertera Subaru (Husband, brother snd wife, and a grandaughter)and I purchased a Subaru Forester. Issa immediately took the task to heart and found exactly what I wanted at an affordable price. His attention to detail pleased me very much. All my questions were warmly answered. I came into the store this presidents day weekend looking for a good price but got much more. The employees here went above and beyond what I have ever experienced at a car dealership before. I had my 2 young daughters with me and they made sure they had something to eat and drink from the cookout they had which helped alot with keeping them happy through the process. They were very upfront and and did not play any games with me which I really loved. Within just over an hour I had found the car of my dreams, had my paperwork done (by a very nice man in finance) and was driving home! I couldn't believe how easy and fun the process was. I will be recommending everyone I know who needs a car to come here, thank you Bertera!!!

I went there to buy a used Chevy Colbalt LT listed at $10,499 it saids mak a offer in the ad and i did but nanagement said we are keeping price as is and there is also a $2100 additional charge in there fine print on top of a $400 charge for buying the car. I was in shock. I would not go here ever again and i suggest for you to stay away. Oh they called me like 5 more times saying they would take my offer but when i came back i got the ad pffer instead.

Sales person was very knowledgeable about all the vehicles on the lot and was not pushy in any way. Everybody on staff (sales, finance) worked well together to keep waiting time down and price down. Cultural diverse staff, which doesn't mean they all have to be all races but knowledgeable about likes/dislikes of various cultures. Our sales person had the radio on the Spain station prior to our test drive. This felt like he cared about us and our culture.

I do recommend this dealership to everyone. In my situation with financing I was helped well and was told straight up of what the situation was like. My situation was very difficult and for all the hard work that the staff was doing to get me into the vehicle that I wanted they got me out of there all same day with the vehicle that I liked. Its worth it after all. For those of the people who have bad credit please try to understand this. Do not come expecting to get a car that you want. You may have to start with something that you don't like but the purpose of this is to establish credit and start all over with. I was in that difficult situation when I went there. I'm glad that I was helped alot and they had given me a good education about financing and establishing credit. So luckily I got a cosigner and got my car. So if you don't have a cosigner and do not have the income that banks are looking for then you will have to establish the credit with something smaller and that is in good conditions. At Bertera Subaru the staff will help you alot with financing and get you started.

Great Dealership everyone there is very easy to talk to feels like youve known them for a long time.They dont push you around or make you feel preasured as long as you know what you want and what you want to pay they will work with you even for days on end to get you a deal you can be happy with , especially Issa Daoud that guy is like the best friend u can make at this dealership , he knows it all and has the patients to teach you step by step how to enjoy your new toy. He and i keept in touch months after our deal was made and I drove off in a fully loaded legacy 3.6r limited. Every service since I work close to the dealership he drives me to work and picks me up to get the car,we talk like we are family he has even brought his wife in to meet me at work at my italian bakery in bloomfield. I consider all the people at this dealership to be my friends there isnt a question or favor you cant ask anyone that they cant answer or hunt the answer down for you. My wife & I purchased a used vehicle from this dealership. The vehicle was a non-subaru vehicle, and had a great price. Moved quickly through the sales process as we were ready to buy. Upon getting the vehicle home, found minor problems including a cracked fog lamp cover, and spolier partially detached from the vehicle. Painful getting the spoiler fixed.... The dealer didn't want anything to do with us once we took possession of the vehicle. Another problem was that an accessory was promised as part of the sale. An incorrect part was ordered, and their service area wouldn't install as promised. The dealer is now not returning our phone calls.

I decided to check out a truck on Jan. 4th, 2012 with my 2 yr. old daughter after I received a phone call from Bertera that morning. We discussed the trucks condition and price before I made the road trip. I checked in at the front desk and they paired me up with Kevin (salesman) when I inquired about the Dodge Ram 1500 at the dealership. After taking it for a test ride we sat down to negotiate. I think it's pretty ridiculous that the best price Bertera Subaru of Hartford is 2K. more than the listing price? The online price mysteriously went up $1650. while I was on the test drive. Yes, the truck was listed at $16,945 on Jan. 3rd and 4th, 2012. Although, when we started to negotiate and they pulled up the listing it was listed at $18,545? They had no idea of what I was talking about? I sent the dealership a copy of their original listing on cars.com and did not hear back from them. Plus, when I asked about the back bumper before I made the trip into the dealership, which had two large dents on both the right and left side, they said the truck is mint and it was repaired. Not true the dents and bumper were never touched! The final blow was a low ball figure on my trade in of 3.3K on a mint Toyota Sequoia. What a joke! Very disappointing to say the least! Shady business all around. Do yourself a favor by saving your time, energy, and hard earned money and go elsewhere. Clueless from top to bottom! Brian (Simsbury, CT.)

I had a problem with my bluetooth in the vehicle and he was not only able to figure out the problem but he took the extra time to set up the extras for me as well. No one else was able to fix it.

My husband and I have just bought our second Subaru from Issa at Bertera Subaru of Hartford. Issa has always been very good to us. We bought a 2012 Impreza and due to the situation in Japan with the earthquakes and tsunami, the delivery of our car was delayed and Issa did all that he could to get us a car that we would be satisfied with and we certainly are. When we are ready to replace both of our Subarus, we will certainly come back to see Issa.Thank you Issa and Bertera SubaruDebbie and Doug R.

I am impressed that the salesman and service advisor are as friendly/helpful after the sale as they were during. I returned to the dealership to have items added on my new vehicle and they were both as nice that day as the day I purchased the vehicle. The personnel in the service are friendly, knowlegeable, professional and helpful. All of the aforementioned is appreciated beyond words. Thank you to one and all.

I have bought and sold cars since I was 16 years old I am now 56 years old.I have never had a worst buying experience in my life.This dealership should be shut down.There are too many details to explain in this forum, from the down right lies to the shady sales tactics but the last straw was sending my sister home in her new used car on a dark night in Hartford without enough gas to get home. This dealership is a disgrace to all respectable dealers in the area

I was very pleased with the service that was provided by Issa Daoud. He was great in helping us get the car in the coreect price we wished. overall, i would definitely recommend people to go to Issa and purchase their car from him.

I had shoped around for several months looking for my new car. I realized that shopping online was my best bet. I put in an inquiry for a 2011 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport online, and the best offer and highest level of service I recieved was from Bertera Subaru of Hartford. Both Sid and Hamid Farahani provided excellent service while I went through both the vehicle research and purchasing experience.

I bought my new Subaru Legacy last week. I shopped at a few other dealers and then went to Bertera Subaru in Hartford. They had a good amount of inventory and a friendly, knowledgable staff. I dealt with Nick (I hope he doesn't get mad, but I can't remember his last name, it was really long), but he was great! The entire transaction was easy and smooth. Dave Taylor was the manager that also helped us. He was really busy at the time, but definitely made time to help answer all of my questions. Probably the best experience buying a car I've had in quite some time!

The best thing about this dealership is there were no surprises, unlike other car dealerships (dont want to mention particular names as i dont want this review to have negative impact on others), where you see one thing online and when you get to the dealer, both the car and the price would be surprise, especially the used cars. Mr.Issa Daoud was particularly helpful, in arranging the financing and keeping me at ease through out the purchase. All employees are very cordial and the atmosphere is trustful.They also have a great collection of cars to choose from.I would like to add that the manager of this dealership is exceptionally generous and really care about his customers.

Even though this is a subaru dealership, I didn't buy a subaru from here. I got a 2008 Honda accord coupe. The sales staff were fine to work with but one of the finance managers was very dissapointing. Luckily my salesman Marion was there to defend my purchase because they tried selling the car to someone else because I could not get insurance and the money fast enough for the remainder of the downpayment I wanted to put down. This was even after putting down 1000 deposit and had 2000 aditional pending. When I finally did go in to buy the car a week later after the purchasing process begun, it was fine from there and not having to deal with the same finance manager was great especially after I complained to the corporate office of subaru about him. The car was spotless and had only a half tank of gas when they handed me the keys. Its been a few months now since then and the car is great. Maybe they tend to care more and treat their customers better when they are buying a new subaru and not a pre owned vehicle. I had a better time buying a car from County Line Mitusbishi in 2004.

Had visited with them and later agreed to a price for a car over the phone. when they asked me to come in I drove over within 30 minutes. When I got there, they told me they had sold the 2011, but had 2012's at more money coming ins within 10 day. Sounded incredible that a car could have been sold in under half an hour. They suggested a 2012 and after some thought decided to go that way since the new value package was available and a good deal.

Our salesman Issa Daoud was very helpful locating the used Tribeca we were looking for with a 3rd row, followed-up with information, calls and questions. He worked very hard to rectify replacing missing rear entertainment accessories. Issa worked with us as if we were buying a new car and not a used one. Very good to work with and would recommend Bertera Subaru to others.

Everyone was very helpful during the process of purchasing my new car. I wanted a specific color with specific accessories, and not only did they work very hard to locate a vehicle for me, but gave me many different financing options so I could afford it. The salesperson, Marcin was incredibly patient and friendly as I test drove many different models to determine what would work best for me. I've also appreciated the follow up phone calls to ensure that I'm happy with my vehicle! I love my new car and I will definitely do business with them again!

I was very pleased with the service that Mr. Daoud gave me. I had come in looking for a perticular car and he was able to help me with purchasing the car that I wanted. One thing that I liked about Mr. Daoud was that he was not pushy he was very personable, considerate and was able to answer all my questions that I had. He made me feel very comfortable about purchasing the car that I wanted. He was very helpfull.

Covered up major problem with vehicle. Now not only do I have a car loan payment but I have a 1,300 dollar new rear end going into my vehicle. Best part is that the general manager told me that Bertera Subaru wasn't interested in doing the service. Big city car dealership pulling small town sleezeball stunts

My 2 year old car was damaged significantly by these folks they made two poor attempts to fix it, and then stated that thas all they were going to do because" they did not cause the damage" the outside company that cleans the car did." this was supposed to be a standard courtesy clean,I am now in the process of legal proceedings to bring this to court. My advice? take photos of your car, and inspect it inside and out for damage prior to leaving the lot. If there is any, hold payment- they will not fix it for you as they had previously indicated to me.Check out the BBB rating.
