Price competitive, fast service.4 stars only because they forgot to fill the tank full upon delivery. Day was late and gas station was closed. I guess they were okay with giving us the car with 3/4 tank.

This was my first time at the service department. Usually my mom and dad would come to get their CRV serviced here. From setting up an appointment date and time to actual service time, I can't stress what a good experience I had with everyone. The emails that are provided as reminders and confirmations, are really helpful. Everyone was polite, had a smile on and worked professionally. Keoni Williams was great. He answered all my questions and took his time explaining everything that was done. He even did some follow research for me about the CRV tires and a safety recall that I asked about. Love Big Island Honda Hilo! The service is always excellent and the staff is so friendly and helpful. I used to take my Accord here for servicing and when I purchased my 2015 Honda CRV I knew exactly where I was going to take it for any service or maintenance needs. Love the shuttle service, but the best deal is they'll pick up your vehicle from work, take it for service, and drop it back off when completed. Never have to miss a day of work and it comes back washed and ready to go.

In July 2015 I paid $12,000 dollars for a used 2004 Honda Element from Big Island Honda. I bought "as is" with the assumption that it was an older car and things would break down as time went on but that it was a working car at the time of sale. Nope. It was only the illusion of a working car.Apparently what "as is" means to Big Island Honda is that within the first eight months that the transmission will fail ($4, 750), that there will be an abnormal draw from the electric system ($1,200), that the AC will go out, that it will need a new battery, that the parking brake will fail and finally that the rear door gate warning light will come on and stay on.This was my fourth Honda but my first from Big Island Honda. I've always had amazing cars and amazing service. I guess the dealer makes the difference. I went to Big Island Honda and they unloaded this piece of junk and then didn't back it up at all. Save yourself and buy somewhere else.

I recently bought me a 2015 Honda Civic ex coupe back in November. I remember when I bought it they made sure I signed up for all sorts of important packages I'll need I case anything had happened. Welllll, just a few days ago I got into an accident my car is totaled, so of course I went back to Honda & they helped me out. Easy! They took the stress off my hands & helped me get another car! All the papers I signed for last time I'm so glad I had taken them. The team at Honda has such great service! Friendly, trusting & loyal service! I'm so happy to say Dean had helped me out the most, 6 hours about at Honda jus tryna help me out & I walked away w/a brand new 2016 Honda Civic Ex sedan! & im loving it! Took my Honda in for regular maintenance. Also wanted brake light replaced and AC problem checked. Identified there's a leak in the system but exact point of leak couldn't be found. Freon was low so more freon was added plus a green dye. Monitoring AC and returning car for final work in about three weeks by which time dye should indicate point of leakage.

I brought my 2008 Honda Element in for service because I noticed a noise coming from the serpentine belt area. It took 2 1/2 days to finally resolve where it was coming from & fix it. , I was offered a loaner car on the second day... problem fixed - thank you.

Experience with the sales and financing team was excellent and prompt. Josh took the time to help me with the computerized panel and hook up my phone to Bluetooth. I came in to schedule a service appointment for my 2013 CRV. The service dept took great care of that so we are now ready to leave. I told my wife, Hold on a second. A young salesman saw us and asked us if we needed any help. I said I am not buying today but what will you give me for my truck. He stated that could change from one week to another but what are you interested in? I told him I want to see your top of the line CRV. He said wait right here. He brought up this Copper Sunset colored vehicle, beautiful looking CRV. Without going into a lot of jiberish, I left the dealership in a brand new, top of the line CRV, and I couldn't be happier. I love the way CRV's handle and the smooth ride they produce. I really didn't think a small car would have that kind of ride. Our salesman was great and really no hassel. We told him what we wanted and he tried his very best to give us what we asked for. I traded in a 2008 Truck and got pretty much what I wanted for it. This dealership in my opinion is great, salesmen are good, service area and workers are great. If you are in the market for a new or even a used vehicle, Hilo Honda is a great place to start. You will probably leave there with what you want, and your shopping will be over.

A very pleasurable experience from beginning to end! The service staff was very helpful in setting up my appointment and sent reminders thru the holidays. On the day of the appointment, the outside service "receptionist/greeter" greeted me immediately when I pulled up. Once inside, all my paperwork ready and I was given a good estimate on how long it would take to complete the service. The mechanic(s) who did the work had the job done within the timeframe I was given. The shuttle driver was very friendly as we talked story on the way back to my office.

Called your service dept last minute to make an appointment for my Honda for oil change. I told them if it was possible to bring my Honda for oil change at a last minute. There was couple of appointments available and they schedule me to have my oil change on my van. As soon I got there I was greeted not sure of her name to sign me in for my service. Than she advise me to see the service person who was in charge of the day. ( Keione?) Anyway, they did a very good job of taking in my Honda and all paper that was done. My van was ready as soon the oil change was done and the service called me as soon as possible when it was done. Oh, by the way, they drop me at my home with the shuttle and pick me up also. The driver of the shuttle (Kelsey...not sure but I think it was her name) was very prompt and friendly. It really made me day. Much thanks for your friendliness of the service dept who helped me that day.

I like to take my time before buying anything and car salesmen are known for being pushy. The moment I pulled up to Big Island Honda, Joe Starr greeted me and allowed me to look at my own pace. At least three times, I came back to look at my options. Never was Joe rude or did he treat me like I was wasting his time. I hated going through the warranty options with employee they sent in and the only reason for not giving five stars. Besides how easy and guilt free the car buying experience was, my Honda is awesome and I am glad Joe Starr let me take my time.

As I entered the showroom, I was greeted by a sales person who showed me the cars in which I had an interest in purchasing. The salesman, Dean, provided good information about the cars.He offered to have me test drive a Honda Civic which I did.The Honda Civic was the car high on my list. He reassured me that indeed it is one of the "best".So now I am a happy owner.I appreciate Dean's courteous, helpful and respectful demeanor.At this moment, I am not sure if I can recall names correctly, but the finance manager, Katy was also courteous and informative.. And worth mentioning is that cold, refreshing bottle of water from the young lady(salesperson?) Also, The rain guards were installed very nicely.It appears that there is great team work at Big Island Honda Hilo.I'd like to mention that BI Honda was my first stop so as a result the only one.

I purchased a Civic Hybrid, and it has outperformed my expectations. Not only do I spend less than 40 dollars a month on gas, I only have to go in to have the oil changed and a checkup ONCE a year. It is wonderful. With all previous cars, I was spending 400 dollars a month on gas, and having to have it checked 4 times a year, costing me significantly more money. The money I have saved in maintenance and gas has paid my loan on the new Hybrid. In addition, the service at Big Island Honda is very professional, courteous and helpful. Free car washes are a very nice touch.

Dealership personnel all seem to please their customers with a smile. Many times I take my car in for service maintenance and they find other things that need changing. Not always do I have the means to replace parts, etc. but overall my experience has been good.

Tyrone was friendly and Professional. My 07 Odyssey Van needed an oil change and tire rotation. There were problems with the oil pan drain plug but Tyrone had it fixed for only a small charge. Now my van and I are happy and on the road again. Also, my van was washed free of charge so it is looking good too. My van was finished in just a few hours so I did not have to wait all day.Big Island Honda rocks!

I took my CRV in for the air conditioning that was blowing warm air. It had been blowing cold every so often. Now after my visit to Honda-Hilo, it doesnt blow cold at all. I was charged $132 to be told it would cost about a $4500 repair. I cant believe that but will seek someone who can fix it for less. I was disappointed because there were extended warranties on the vehicle but because of the high miles Im out of luck. I seriously thinking that this may be a reason to look elsewhere next time around, although Hondas are good cars the repairs are too expensive on the older cars and extended warranties have too many restrictions. If you dont read the fine print, you are out of luck. So, buyer beware.

The customer service was excellent. From the time we walked in we were offered cold bottled water while we waited. The negotiations took longer than expected because I wanted to trade in two cars. They stayed after closing and no one made me feel like it was an inconvenience. They really worked with my trade ins. They said they will even come and pick up my van and have it washed anytime in the future. That is a really helpful perk! Great experience overall!

Had to pay a total labor charge of 6 hours when repair took only 4 hours. When you are being charged $127 per hour, that's a lot of money! Was told it's a fixed labor charge for that type of repair. Wonder if this is standard practice for all auto repair centers? The car is running well now, and overall customer service was very good.

Took our Honda CR-V in to have air conditioning looked at. They told us to come in at 1:30. Did that, and told the repair guy what was wrong. We had to wait until 5:00 to find out exactly what we told them was wrong. They charged u $145.00 to tell us exactly what we told them was wrong! On top of that they said it would cost $4000.00 to fix the air conditioning. Many, many people have had this same problem (lee searched it on the Internet) but no recall by Honda and no bargain deal for those having this problem.. We are not happy with Hilo Honda.

The Service Staff is very friendly, helpful and knowlegable. The only problem I have is that to trouble shoot problems with my Mercedes, I need to get on a waiting list until a Mercedes specialist comes to Big Island Honda. My Mercedes has been on the waiting list since June because of having a very rough idle in the mornings or when the engine is cold.
