This was my first experience with BMW of Honolulu service. I’ve been driving my 2012 X5 5.0 for 8 years and recently hit 100K moles after driving it cross country to LA and then shipping it to Hawaii. I purchased and serviced the vehicle, until now, at BMW of Manhattan in New York. Pretty much 100% flawless and seamless experience at BMW here in Honolulu. Scheduling, drop off, loaner car, and pick up. Kaimana was my advisor and he was terrific. Communicated everything along the way so I felt secure and taken care of. I also received a video from the technician walking me through the various things to be done. This was a first for me and out of this world fantastic. Every auto service place should be doing this. It was a two minute video showed everything explains everything left no questions open it was really fantastic. Excellent all around and happy to write this 5 star review.

Always great service. Have had many cars over the decades from this dealer and service always good. Now that I don’t drive as much I only get service once a year and the personnel always try their best to accommodate all wishes of the client. And I love the cappuccino machine in the waiting area!

I took my BMW. And the technical advisor was nothing less than above excellent.I was kept in the know, of what was being done, why it was being done, problems found during the diagnostic, what was needed to resolve the problem, and the cost the service and what I'd need to purchase to resolve the problem. I bought my BMW X5 in for my horn that was not functioning. Not only did they fix the malfunctioning horn. But at my request ran a diagnostic test for some trouble lights which were illuminated. Told me what was causing these warning lights to come on.And they told me what it would cost, to fix the problem. Being very honest and caring. As they advised me it would be very expensive. The actually to awesome videos of what was being done, as it was being done. And they told me why it was being done. The video made me feel as if I was actually standing right there with the service technician. Additionally, he gave me a brief description of what he recommended I get done in addition to what I came in for. The service personnel showed a key interest in insuring I was comfortable and understood all of the what and why. The place is very very clean and and the waiting area is convenient, comfortable, with free water and ☕. So if you go to the BMW DEALERSHIP on Kapiolani in Honolulu Hawaii. You will be glad you did. Now the cost of service will be somewhat more. But they know their stuff. And come on, if you own a BMW. You don't want some jack leg mechanic working on your BMW. But you want the qualified professionals on your BMW. I KNOW I DO!!!!

Patrick was extremely helpful in expediting service for our car. We drove in without an appointment as our car suddenly notified us to go to a service center. He told us that it might be dangerous to continue to drive the car, so he managed to take the car in and secure us a loner. He was pleasant, and provided a much better experience than previous customer service agents.

Great buying experience. I have purchased many vehicles from numerous dealers but this was the fastest and easiest. Brett and the finance team worked to give me the best deal I could ask for. Brett was very attentive and responded fast to any questions I may have had.

I was pleasantly surprised at my dealership experience. I usually hate the car buying experience but upon entering the dealership I was greeted by what they call a Product Genius! And wow I must say I felt so at ease. The Product Genius walked me through the dealership and I was impressed. The showroom cars are to die for! After the orientation I was placed into the hands of a sales person. I can't imagine a better way to buy my dream car!

Loving my BMW i3. The wonderful folks at BMW of Honolulu did not disappoint when I purchased my BMW i3. The experienced staff and the product guys were great. They were both knowledgeable and friendly. They weren't pushy like the other dealerships I have been to before. This is my friends BMW ever and believe me I will be back again!

My first interaction with BMW of Honolulu, began on the evening of September 28th. I was quite interested in leasing a BMW 228i. I contacted a salesman named, Michael and he assured me that the car was available for lease and I would be able to view the car the following day. I was right across the street viewing another vehicle and offered to walk over and sign papers or provide a credit card number; due to the lease being a really good deal. I did not want to miss the opportunity of losing the car. However, Michael left early for the day and assured me that he would place the car on hold and I could see it the following day. I contacted Michael on Thursday morning at 11:14pm to reconfirm our appointment time, and he simply told me the car was sold. No courtesy call was made between the last time we spoke and when I called him that morning. He told me that another car was available and he would call me back in an hour. However, I received no follow up phone call. I yet again had to call BMW of Honolulu and speak to the sales manager on duty named, Eric West. He said that he would look into the situation and find out what happen and would contact me back within an hour. However, I received no follow-up call or email.I finally received a phone call from Michael on Friday at 3:23pm. He told me that another call was available and I would be able to see the car at 4:30pm. I arrived at BMW of Honolulu and waited for him until 4:50pm. He took me on a test drive and we finally agreed on a price forty minutes later. I then provided my personal and financial information, as well as my fathers information, because he would have to co-sign for me to lease the vehicle. Michael took over an hour and provided no assistance because he was assisting another customer, while trying to make a deal with myself. After over an hour of waiting, he returned to me and told me that he had made a mistake. The mistake was that he had sold me the wrong car. I asked to speak to the general manager, Jim Jacobson. The general manager assured me that they had in fact made a mistake and would not lease me the vehicle at the agreed price. He believed that the mistakes were not worth ten thousand dollars. He told me that he could give me the same deal on another vehicle in two to three weeks that had additional1400 more miles than the car that Michael and I agreed upon. I share this because I could not fathom the level of incompetence at a luxury car dealership. Excuses after excuses were provided to me; however, the mistakes made were not excusable and are based purely on the lack leadership and level of incompetence at this institution. The lack of leadership has created worrisome for myself due to providing BMW of Honolulu with me and my fathers personal and financial information on a false premise. I expected far greater from the promises they have made on their website: Why do so many drivers choose our new BMW dealership? That's a question that can really only be answered with a visit to our showroom. But if we had to sum it up in a word, it would be service. If you would want to experience their service, I wish you the best of luck from a dealership that lacks integrity and competence.

I was shopping around for a good used car and got exactly the car and deal I was looking for at B.M.W. of Honolulu. It's been a week now since buying my car and am still very happy with my purchase and with B.M.W. of Honolulu, thanks!

I bought all my beamers from this dealer dating back to the early 90's. Thom Butler, who sold us our first used 3 series is awesome! I've never met any sales associate who goes above and beyond for his customers. Because of him I still go back to this dealer. I know that they are very expensive when it comes to repairs that's why for non warranty items I always go somewhere else. That is why I also choose to lease my beamers so that they are always under warranty and cost me nothing for service or repairs. Their night service arrangement is great. I can drop off anytime in the afternoon and have the car ready the next morning. Did I mention that I live right across the street from them? How convenient is that?? The veteran Thom Butler is still there so if you are in the market for a new or used BMW I strongly suggest you visit him first. You won't be disappointed.

BMW of Honolulu is disingenuous with about every effort related to automotive repair under warranty. They willfully took a product hey knew had major discrepancies and threatened and harassed me to have the vehicle removed even though it suffered from a know NHSTA issue. They commingled information with the insurance company GEICO to ward off any claims of repairs. Then sicked their legal counsel on me as I disagreed with their past efforts to dutifully act in legitimate efforts to properly estimate the vehicle.

These guys do not honor any buying service pricing and do not deal on price. Their special is MSRP all day long. There are dealers all over the mainland who will ship a car to you in a week for thousands less than these guys charge.Don't let the salesguys lie to you, according to their BMW franchise agreement, they are obligated to honor the manufacturer's warranty and service plan for all BMWs regardless of where you purchased it.

Have been searching for a nice used BMW hardtop convertible and finally spotted a really nice 2011 335i M Sport on Cars.com at BMW of Honolulu. Anthony quickly responded to my email inquiring about the vehicle and over the next 24 hours we had several conversations to answer specific questions about the car. I live on Maui so I put $1000 hold on the car and flew over the next day to see it in person. Anthony picked me up at the airport and drove me back to the dealership where I looked at the car and found it to be in just like new condition. Negotiations were quick and we quickly settled on a fair price. I had assumed I would have to arrange shipping which would take a few weeks with Young Brothers however Anthony informed me that they could arrange shipping directly to BMW of Maui in just a day or so for less than Young Brothers would charge so I quickly agreed to that process. Their F&I guy Otto was very pleasant and since I was paying cash for the car we simply went over a few services to see if i wanted them or not. No pressure to choose or not choose any of them. All in all the entire process took about an hour and they drove me back to the airport so I could fly home.

Customer service was average, but I had gotten pre-approved for the financial side of things and I had told the sales person that I wanted to schedule an appointment to see the car and then purchase it. I got approved on a Friday and on Saturday night I got a text from my sales person saying the he is sorry and that another sales person sold the car. I was UPSET. So close but yet so far.......

Near perfect buying experience. Unsatisfactory service. Bought a new 2012 BMW...In the shop 7 times in 6 months. Have stopped taking it in altogether and will sell it. Have received better customer service from less expensive brands. All lip service, no real service.

BMW of Honolulu is a nice enough dealership as far as friendliness goes and everyone greets you and treats you nice. However their actual service was really poor. My experience pertains to service of my car.+ They worked on my car fairly quickly to find the problem, called promptly (first day car was at shop, I had no appointment and had my car towed in as it broke down) and advised parts not in stock and should arrive in 3 or 4 days.- No follow up, I had to call 5 days later only to be told that the parts came in after 3 days but they "forgot" to work on it. + Lots of apologies. Promised to have car worked on as soon as possible.- That soon as possible wouldn't be until the 8th day as it was heading into a Sun + holiday on Monday.- No apologies when picking up car for delay of 4-5 days. Almost like it never happened.- Price on invoice lists $760 dollars labor- there is no breakdown of hourly labor fee. No breakdown of how much time was spent on each job. Diagnosis of problem / change fuel filter / change fuel pump. A search online shows labor to install a fuel pump shouldn't be more than 1 hour even for a DIY person. - Invoice states that I approved at $1500 estimate on initial notification of problem. That did not happen.+Car was nicely cleaned inside and out.- Discovered following day that rear seat cushion was not put back correctly. Instead it was just lying there without being secured down.- Discovered shop rag left in engine bay a few days later while working on changing belts myself. Close to radiator fan which could have caused big trouble if it managed to get stuck. So in summary I would prefer never to return to this place again but I probably will have to since they are the only BMW dealership on the island.

Buying a car doesn't get any easier or more pleasant than this. We were in the market for a used 3 series, and we were never pressured to upgrade to something we couldn't afford. Rob Doyle was our sales advisor, and he went out of his way on a number of occasions to help us find the right car, including calling us the day that one came in. There was no pressure at any point in the process, and even at the last minute when a couple of flaws were found in the car, they honored the repair without trying to renegotiate the price. Even buying a pre-owned car, we were treated with the utmost respect. Great experience from top to bottom.

Me and my wife just purchased a used car from BMW of Honolulu 3 months ago. They were great when we were there looking for a car but the moment we steped off of the lot we recieved extremely poor treatment from that day on. I still have not recieved my registration for the vehicle and everytime i call (8 times not) all I ever get is the runaround about they dont know what is wrong and they will get back to me. They never do. Forget about the fact that they said they would find the spare key for me I know that is never coming. Beware this dealership they have extremly poor customer relations.

Went to this dealership shopping for a new 5 series on 8/1/09. I was approached by Dan Mau, gave him my budget, and he took me to the computer to look up their inventory that matched the budget. We discussed the features and colors of the vehicles that matched, and within 20 or 30 minutes they had the car off the shelf, prepped and ready to drive. Not once did he ever pressure me into getting the car (unlike many dealerships), the car sold itself. He explained most of the features of the car, as it was my first BMW purchase. The purchasing process was extremely well organized, efficient, and I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off at all. Whatever commission that Dan received, he deserved every penny. Extremely likeable and pleasant to work with. I've had my car serviced a couple times in the few years I've owned it, and while the service is pleasant, the prices are still pretty high. I understand that's just a part of working with a BMW dealership, but they're still high. They say they'll do it the "right way" but I know many shops that are familiar with BMWs that will do servicing the exact same way for a fraction of the cost. However, I do like working with this dealership, because it is truly an immaculate building and very well maintained. They'll normally quote a few hours for an oil change/service, but it's usually done in about an hour. Granted, this is the only BMW dealership on the island, but it's well worth the visit.

Terrible service. I'm not sure why they have you make an appointment because I brought my car in at 8am sat around in the lobby for 3 hours, went to check on the status of my car and they still have not even looked at it. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. Unfortunately for those with warranties this is the only BMW dealer on island. If your warranty is up though, I would definitely find a shop that specializes in foreign cars rather than coming here.

I've never had anything negative to say about BMW of Honolulu until yesterday when I picked my car up following a visit for basic servicing. When I picked my car up, I noticed what I initially thought was bird droppings on the right rear bumper. As I walked closer, I noticed the car had been hit. When I talked to my service rep (who I really enjoy dealing with everytime I go there) he said he was sure what happened. He went to get the manager on duty and came back with a diagram telling me that my car was turned in this way. Really?! Although I explained to them several times that I did not turn the vehicle this way, they insisted that I did. So, I had them call the police...of course the police couldn't really do anything, because there had not been a crime committed. They went to get the gentlemen that checked the vehicle in, and he came out and joined right in with the others, claiming that the vehicle was turned in this way. I asked my wife if a walk around had been done. She told me specifically that a walk around was not conducted with her (all the times before when she dropped the car off, a walk around was accomplished and the minor scrapes and nicks were annotated). I am not complaining about this dealership because I don't like their service, but I'm very disappointed in the fact that a loyal customer would just basically be called a liar, without even looking into the possibility of error on their behalf. I'm sure there are some surveillance tapes on-hand that may show what happened, but they never even offered. I don't have any hard feelings towards them, I just want them to take responsibility for what happened to my car while in their possession.

I did not buy my car from the dealer. I bought directly from BMW and had the car shipped to the dealer. Still, the people at the dealership were most courteous. I was given a full demonstration of the cars attributes and a full tank of gas.

I have been in the market for over a year for a certifieod pre-owned BMW. I was unsure if i wanted a sedan, sportscar or SUV. I met Doug Hoag at the BMW Hounolulu dealership during one of my weekend forays. What inspired me to work with him and BMW Honolulu was his willingness to show me every vehichle i was interested in without pressuring me to buy. Doug spent over one year working with me, patiently presenting new inventory as it came available. Knowing that i travel quite often Doug would be sure to email and or call me to update me per my request. When i was ready to purchase i again contacted Doug. I had been away on business but in true form he kept me abreast of new inventory and even highlighted specific vehichles to review and drive upon my return. Doug, if you have not had the pleasure to meet him, loves to drive. His true enthusiasm for BMW as well as his earnest efforts to pace me in the right car for my needs made it an easy decision to purchase my 2008 X5. I love my certified BMW and more importantly I love the service that was provided to me by not only Doug, but the entire team. I cannot say enough that it was the best experience I have ever had purchasing an auto. If you are in the market for a new or used BMW i would strongly encourage you to contact Doug Hoag and see how much fun it can be find your ultimate driving machine.

I called to have a Safety Inspection ONLY. The service rep said-"you are coming due for an oil change, brake fluid change..." I cut him off there. Told him I only want a Safety Inspection right now. His response was to go to a service station near me. Some BMW service--they won't do anything for their customers unless they get every bit of money they can.---disappointed!

I give this dealership very poor in customer service. You do not give your customer enough value. I have made a few complaints about the service I received from this place, and have not had any response at all. Unfortunately this is the only dealer in Oahu Hawaii, so I have no choice but to deal with unacceptable service from this dealership. Very disappointed.

The process was streamlined and fast. Less than 24 hours after completing the online application through Cars.com, I received correspondence for Dan Mau of BMW of Honolulu. He gather information, I sent supporting documents online and scheduled an appointment for the vehicle chosen. All terms I requested were agreed to and the deal was closed in minutes. I received the vehicle the same day and after some minor vehicle registration delays from the DMV, the deal finalized. Great facilities, mainenance was fast and professional and follow-up was personal and cordial. I really appreciate their business and if I weren't moving from Hawaii I would buy again from them. I am a MOPAR guy and own a Dodge Ram and a Chrysler, this is my second foreign car purchase but it is for my wife. I can do everything online through the BMW North America website such as schedule maintenance (even use the car itself to schedule), order accesories and full account information at one spot. I couldn't do this with the other vehicles so I like that aspect.

This is my 3rd BMW so I have a pretty good understanding how other BMW dealerships treat clients. On 12/17/10 I traded in my 2005 X5 for a brand new 2011 3 series. It is now July 6, 2011 and my 2005 X5 that i traded in has been resold and is still currently registered under my name. I called the dealership and informed them that I'm still receiving a bill from DMV for the registration for my X5, and the advise that i get from the sales manager is to just ignore the bill from DMV.

I've had two negative experiences at BMW Honolulu. I had vibration in my front end while braking and brought it by to the service department. I was awakened with an astounding $1700 estimate to repair, but were uncertain that this would take care of the vibration. They claim to have attached a "listening device" to one of the strut towers to "hear" where the noise was coming from. The next day, fully disgusted with their methods, I called a BMW mechanic. It was the front control arm bushings. A common maintenance item on 3 series past 60k miles. My guy charged me $252, including parts for two OEM bushings and labor. Shame on Will, Vernon, Bill, and the very polite crew of service writers that frequently "hose" over their prey and even bragged to me that they always exceed their sales targets set by Shelley Eurocars. This is done through skillful deception, use of fear tactics, and constant upselling. The second event was an alignment. The first beef is that Kanaan refused to honor a lower estimate to check the alignment and insisted that this estimate had expired. Next, Will explains that whether all four or only one wheel is out of alignment, the cost is about $380. Wow. Did it even need alignment? Will assured me that the computer would record the camber settings and it would give a printout of the numbers. Upon paying my bill, he had conveniently forgotten the printout that was the whole basis of the need to align. Shameful! The somewhat honest technician let me under the car and he found I had a minor valve cover gasket leak. Will's estimate was $1400. My mechanic did the grommet and gasket replacement for $290, out the door cost.

After suffering through several horrible experiences at this dealership, including once waiting almost two hours to get my car after I got a phone call telling me it was ready (they were "in a meeting" and no one could come out to give me my car back?!?!), being promised a loaner, then was told I couldn't have one when I dropped my car off; car returned dirty after being dropped off clean; car returned with a scratch and small dent in the door... you'd think this was enough. But the last straw came when, during one appointment, they called to tell me my car seat motor was broken and they wanted permission to order a new one. (It was working when I dropped the car off.) I told them no, just put my seat back where it was; I'm the only driver and don't need to move my seat. A year later, someone else looked at the seat. Guess what? THE FUSE HAD BEEN REMOVED. He replaced the fuse and the seat was fine. Not only are they incompetent and couldn't care less about their customers, they are completely dishonest. I just had a BMW brought in from the mainland because I refuse to give them my business.

At first would not provide loaner and is not willing to take care of the customer even if the vehicle was under warranty. Then later notified me that they had found one and gave me a loaner. It took some reasoning but dont think that it should be that way. If you pay good money for a car and it breaks down during warranty, there should be compensation for the customer no matter what, no if's and's or but's. Only asking for another car to drive and customer should not be forced to go and rent one at the customers expense if there are no loaners available. we are lucky this time that they came across an available loaner.

I have used this dealer's service department many times over the years I have owned my 330i. They are VERY expensive. Most of the work I have had done was done properly, but again, I had to pay through the nose for it. $273 for oil service? Jeez. All they do is change the oil and filter, and the cabin filter, and check a few other things, most of which I can do myself. I have had window regulators replaced, and found my window tint scratched up after they completed the job. They quoted me nearly $1000 to replace the pads and discs for just my rear brakes. I had it done for $440 at an independent shop. I will not be using this service department again any time soon.

I have had several bad experiences with their service department. I had reported a problem it I had to return four times, until the noise that I heard got so loud that they could finally diagnose the problem which was a loose nut in my rear suspension that the stated that they had torn apart while attempting to determine the problem. On another occasion, I took my car in for another problem, which they charged me $1,400, but did not correct the problem. On another occassion, my daughter took my car in, for which I had an appointment, and even after she informed them twice that she had an appointment, the ignored her and assisted two different male customers who had later appointments. My daughter is not a young school girl but an attorney. Both of my children enjoyed my BMW, and were BMW converts, but not any more. One is an attorney and the other an engineer. They have lost three future customers. If a new dealership were to open I might consider a BMW again, but for now I am happy with my Mercedes.

I was treated well by the sales staff. I was not dressed up at all, in fact I was on the way to the beach when I decided to stop in and check out the new 04 530i. Took about 3 hours to test drive, choose a car, trade in my old ride and drive off the lot.Went back a few months ago to look at the 06 750i. same salesman, test drove, liked it, choose one, traded in another ride, and drove off again this time in less than 2 hours. The service people thus far have been nice and accomodating except when it comes to getting a loaner. Overall I'd say that I'm a satisfied customer.

I love the car but the dealer's service dept sucks big time. I spent an hour and a half waiting for my car after a service appointment only to be told that they lost my key and had to give me a loaner. I went back and bought a used car from them that they sold to me with an expired state safety inspection. While I was there waiting for my car to be done, someone else was complaining about the same thing. I have been waiting eight months for touch-up paint. Fianlly told 'em to forget it and I ordered through paintscratch.com. The folks are nice, just incompetant and too small a department for the number of cars they sell. Upper mgmt obviously cares very little about this end of the business because they are the only BMW dealership in town/state.
