This review is my *second and its concerning service. *See my first review on Yelp about my sales experience as I have purchased 6 vehicles and have recommended several friends to purchase their vehicles. We took our Tacoma (now my daughter's) in for a recall repair (leaf springs) that broke after 200k and the service department handled this as part of the recall. Fortunately we caught it in time. Here is why for my 1 star. Of course they found a few other things and recommended a repair. The rack and pinion needed a repair $1,600. I have a mechanic that is only charging $750. The low tire light $160. It's been a problem for awhile and we just usually fill up the spare tire. Both of these are alarming as a consumer especially they tried to sell this to my daughter. DO NOT TRUST THIS SERVICE DEPT!

Excellent service is priority at Bob Smith Toyota. Friendly service with a smile, shuttle service and rental cars are offered with service. The people who work here are so efficient and I don't mind waiting~ coffee and tea and food are available. The lighting is good for reading a book also. Their accessory store is right there too. I want to thank my service manager Greg for is great smile , humor and kindness too!

Wow. JUST WOW. Talk about bait and switch! We made an appointment on line the night before for 2 specific cars that we were driving over an hour to come test drive. We even had 2 emails corresponding with Julia Pearl "internet sales manager" an hour prior to our arrival. The baby was loaded in the car. We had cash, and we're ready to buy either car. We get to the salesman, he immediately says, oh, out internet pricing was a misprint on BOTH cars you came to test drive! MIND BLOWN! The manager says, it was the price the dealership paid for the cars. That explains the 5,000 and 7,000 dollar mark up! Leaving super upset and feeling very tricked! PS... It was the last day of the month. Nice way to meet your sales goal by tricking the public Bobs Toyota! Dishonest. Insulting. Disingenuous.

I have had not so great service from other dealerships and was a little skeptical but when I knew my lease was coming to an end, I decided to contact the place I had gotten my service done on my Scion (Due to when I went in for an oil change I always had good service).So I called Bob Smith (which is not where I originally leased my vehicle) and spoke to Justin and he was incredibly friendly and welcoming to my story of my previous experiences with other Toyota dealerships. So I decided to venture in and see what my options were in regards to my ending lease agreement. I was greeted as soon as I walked into the door and introduced to Justin who was true to form and in doing so, he brought in Tony Fierro to our conversation. They both listen to my story and truly understood my viewpoint. From there it was the honesty and exceptional recommendations of Tony that made the time there much more enduring. Tony was down to Earth and forthcoming with information about my options. He made me feel like I was somebody he truly cared about in helping me find the right solution for me. Tony is the main reason I walked out of there with a new Scion and a new sense of confidence when it comes to dealerships. He definitely made my experience exceptional and I definitely will recommend Bob Smith Toyota over ANY dealership period! I also want to give a special shout out to Tommy, "Banner Guy", Todd and the Operator for making the entire time there more fun. Thank You Bob Smith Toyota, You Guys ROCK!

I am new to the Prius and hybrids in general, so the patient, clear education on hybrids and the Prius Plug-In by Tony Fierro was much appreciated. Even after the purchase, Tony spent time with me and my husband to understand more of the features that come with the Prius. He also helped us get setup for the hands-free phone and SOS features. In the finance department, Rosie was very pleasant and made that process as easy as possible. Lidia was also very pleasant in helping us get the appointments for having the windows tinted, the Lojax installed and Finishing Touch applied to the interior and exterior.We love driving the Prius Plug-In, saving on fuel costs, and would recommend the car, the dealer and Tony Fierro to anyone.

Dirty people to deal with. Tony XXXXXX was completely rude and out of line.Here a real review. Bait and switch by Mark and Tony the Scion salesman bully.First,Don't even bother emailing this dealership without a ton of emails rushing you to come on in!Agreed on a price on a new car through emails.Mark understood that navigation was required on this purchase.As stated below. Yes it does. The new vehicle didn't have it so they insisted that we just except it and purchase it for and additional 1900.00.Tony insulted my wife, insisted we sit like dogs while he and Mark find a new angle to just plain run up the bill.ALSO PLEASE NOTE, We had no problem paying their fixed price. We bought a Highlander this weekend from Bob Smith Toyota. Our sales rep Tony Fierro was the best, as well as the rest of the friendly and helpful staff. I'm a busy guy (aren't we all), and I wanted to do my negotiating over the phone, so I had emailed and called several dealerships throughout the LA area. I had numerous runarounds and headaches with bigger dealerships, but Tony got back to me promptly and when I told him I wanted a best and final offer on exactly the car I wanted, he came back with a price that was excellent! We drove to the dealership and the price we agreed to on the phone was the price we received when we got there. No hassle at all. One of the other salesmen (wish I could remember his name) was even entertaining my kids while I filled out paperwork!I know if I read a review like this I would be skeptical, thinking this must be written by a friend or family member of someone who works there. Nope. It's simply that I had the best experience I've had in 20 years of car buying.We will be back for our next Toyota purchase. My Prius isn't going to last forever :)

I bought two used cars from this dealer. Each one had a significant defect that they did not disclose but which they could not have been ignorant of--the first had an engine oil leak and the second had a broken power driver seat. Yes, my bad on the second one, I did not try the full range of adjustments. Nevertheless, the report they show you of the results of their 'five thousand point inspection' or however many it is cannot be trusted. Perhaps it is foolish of me to complain about the trustworthiness of used car salespersons; if so, fine, I'll be the fool who speaks up.

Salesman nice, helpful. Support staff sloppy. Wrong odometer reading on trade-in; asked to sign a brand new contract 4wks after sale due to computer problem at their end; gave ME former owner's personal info; overcharged on registration; took their time refunding $$; floor mgr said he would call back but didn't; questionable standards for their "certified" vehicle. Ask for the most recent service report & have a trusted mechanic check FIRST if you're buying used. Wish I hadn't bought here, not because of the vehicle itself but because they do sloppy work which is annoying & stressful for the buyer. Watch every detail with these folks. Very disappointing experience.

Jesse is the internet sales manager at Bob Smith. Do yourself a favor and regard him as the new guy on the used car lot. Don't believe a word out of his mouth. He practices deceptive creative writing and false promises to get you to the next guy, the "Finance Manager" who will tell you that you misunderstood. After getting a 3-week run-around from these two characters, I finally escalated to the sales manager, who didn't even have to take a look or listen to what happened to let me know that I just plain mis-understood.

They spent time to explain the details that are involved with the purchase of my car in a manner that I could understand. Although there are several dealerships closer to my house I visited Bob Smith Toyota where they showed me that they are willing to go the extra mile just to earn my business, what they dont know is that they also earned my trust.

Bob Smith Toyota is a wonderful place and everyone in the dealership is very nice and they took wonderful care of me. Jesse is more matchmaker than car salesperson and he made sure I was getting the car I was hoping to get.He also was patient through some of my I forget how to buy a car moments and he took care of the work wonderfully. Jesse also showed me how to drive the car, which was trickier than I thought. It was a fun afternoon with the bucket and I'm very happy with my new car. I also look forward to the thorough servicing and it was helpful that I was shown the waiting areas and it will help me to manage time by using the wireless and work areas during servicing! I have not been a customer of theirs, but I asked a question though their online chat. In the chat they got my contact info and Nikki called me in about an hour, which is great comparing to some of the other dealerships that never get back to you. She tried to help me a lot and also to get some info from her co-workers; so she called me back after 5 minutes and spent quite bit of time with me which is wonderful. Although they are not the closest dealership to me, but I may want to take my car there because of the above impression. The general managers should be happy of having such courteous and nice employees who can improve the overall reputation of their facility.

I went to toyota to see what my possibilities were for getting a Company Lease on the Avalon. I don't have much experience in how to set up a company lease construction. The staff was very friendly to me and they provided me with several different options and clearly answered all questions I had. At the moment I am still in the decision process of getting a car, however if I do decide to get the Avalon I most certainly will go to this location, Bob Smith Toyota. We felt comfortable here looking around without being pushed too hard. Shawn was extremely knowledgeable. It helped us in comparing the different models, was very knowledgeable of safety features and was able to answer all of our questions. Did a great job was referred here and am going to be referring people myself. I came in not knowing what to expect considering my last experience at a different dealership. I wanted a new vehicle with great warranty and gas mileage 4dr and cheap for insurance. I test drove tons of vehicles finally found a 2010 Toyota corolla. They did the numbers and off to finance I went. Was done with everything and then 2 days later they called me in to give me a lower interest rate dropped my payment $26! Thanks for everything guys.

Bought because the salesperson Ron Smith did not harass us. We used the maintenance dept. for years & found them very good at what they do. Ron was very good at letting us make up our own minds. Was a nice change for us to have such great service all the way around. Thanks Ron !

If you want to be lied to and manipulated in your car-buying experience, please visit Bob Smith Toyota of La Crescenta, CA.I emailed Bob Smith Toyota with specifications of a car I was interested in. Haik emailed me back stating they had the car that I wanted. I asked to see the VIN and spec sheet for the car, knowing that some dealers will say anything to get you to come visit their showroom. Haik emailed me the specs, and based on that info and the previous email he had sent stating they had the car we wanted, we drove 35 minutes to their showroom to test drive the car. When we arrived, lo and behold - no such car on the lot. They "could get it for me," in both the red and green exterior colors we were interested in, so we haggled over price and APR, and finally reached an agreement. We told Haik that we intended to purchase the car that day, and gave the "go ahead" to bring both the green and the red cars so we could see them and choose one of them to buy. Haik said he would have the car at the dealership in 1 and 1/2 hours. This was at 3:45 p.m. At 6 p.m. we called the dealership to find out the status of the car: had it arrived at the dealership as promised? Haik was "busy with another customer," so we left a message and waited to hear back. We called again at 6:20 pm, 6:45 pm, and finally at 7 p.m. just as the dealership was closing for the night. Haik informed us that he was "working on getting us the car, but it hadn't arrived yet." We were very frustrated at that point, as we had hoped to purchase the car that day. The next morning, we still hadn't heard back from Haik about the status of either car he had promised to bring to his dealership, so we called at 11:00 a.m. to follow-up. Once again, we were told he was "with another customer," at which point we explained to the person who answered the phone why we were frustrated. He then redirected us to talk to Tom, the dealership manager. In talking to Tom, we discovered not only had Haik NOT gone ahead and had the green car delivered to the dealership for our test drive as we promised the day before, but that HE LIED A SECOND TIME when promising that he could bring BOTH the green and the red Camry for our viewing and test driving!!! Tom, the manager, was completely unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation, despite our exchanging several calls with him that same morning.We then went to another Toyota dealer, who not only gave us a better price on the Camry, but also was willing to make a 3-hour round trip to another dealership to get us the Camry we wanted, in the color we wanted, for no additional charge. I have bought many cars in my lifetime, but never have I been lied to so continuously and egregiously as I was by this dealership.Buyer beware!

Two issues for low grades: 1. Out and out lies caught in the act and 2. Incompetence. I gave them a 1 in Customer Service due to these errors of honesty and brains, but that was only on two occasions out of six. I gave them lousy grades in Price due to gouging me for service that was billed for considerable time when it should have been mere moments or free. Read on...----------I used Bob Smith Toyota to service a 2007 Prius several times. During one service, they called me with this message: "The AC filter is filthy, you're just recycling all the dirt into the car. Cost to replace $30 parts and $20 service. Total added: $50." Not knowing how much was involved, I let them do it, but insisted that any replaced parts be returned to me when I picked it up. It turns out that the "filter" involved is a thin, formed fiber mat that is easy to replace once you know how to unlatch the glove compartment. Total time to access and replace: about 3 minutes if you move slow. Total price for a replacement filter on the internet: about $12. The one they replaced the original with was not the Official Part. It was a low-cost replacement part. Well, that was $45 wasted, but I learned something. In the middle of the next service, they called me with this story: "Oh, the Service Manager talked to me and he sees that the AC filter is filthy. Replacement will be $55." Prices had risen. What he doesn't know is that the filter in there is nearly virgin and the whole story is a complete fabrication. Nobody looked at it at all. If they had, they would have known that it was new. By the way, washing or blowing out these ridiculously simple filters is easy.When I drove off the lot, a day or so later, a service light came on. I thought they had failed to reset it. They said it was a tire light, so they topped off all the tires (free) and the light went away. But it came back, so I figured I had a slow leak somewhere. I took it to a tire store and they said two things: A nail, plus they couldn't get the wheel off due to a missing security lug--a special adapter the Bob Smith guys would have last used. Back at Bob Smith, they couldn't find the special lug, nor did they stock them. I ended up fixing the nail leak with a $5 kit from Kragen. In the process, I found the missing lug in the tire compartment that Bob Smith's own folks missed. Oh, there it is, right under the jack. That kit fixed a tire on my Segway, too, but that's another story.Bob Smith can't have my next services.
