Terrible service in the service dept. Made an appointment to have my vehicle serviced, when I arrived at my scheduled time I was told I would need to wait hours for them to even pull it in to look at it. Absolutely no effort from service staff to even explain why or remedy. Waiting room is sparse at best, a few old dirty office chairs. Drive the extra 30 miles into Albany and go to a real Ford dealer.

I purchased my second car there in September. BIG MISTAKE. Paid $ 550 to have the undercoating done and 2 months later they refuse to supply me with the required documents attesting that the undercoating was done I keep getting the runaround from the sales Department. This past week the Sales Representative told me to crawl under the car and see if it was darker !!!! Due to their reluctance to provide me with the paperwork I can only assume the undercoating was never done and I am out $550. I would not recommend this Dealership.

Purchased my second vehicle there. BIG MISTAKE. I paid $550 to have the undercoating done. 2 months later they still refuse to supply me with the required documentation that it was done. This past week the Sales Representative told me to crawl under my car to see if it was darker !!!!! I can only assume by their reluctance to provide the paperwork that it was ever done. They also cannot remove the residue from my windsheild that had the promotional writing on it. $550 down the drain . Terrible experience.

If your looking for a stuffed shirt and high pressure sales staff and a bunch of phony people , please don't go Browns Ford because you will be completely disappointed . If it wasn't for the Internet ( my shopping tool ) I more than likely wouldn't have made the trip ( thank God for the Internet ) instead I could been dealing with some nice phony sales staff. First of all, this is my third Escape. I just LOVE this vehicle. The stability on less than ideal surfaces is amazing. Never ever a slip or skid. On a rainy highway, it seems to be "glued" to the road. This is especially important to me because I am often carrying my granddaughter. Regarding Brown's Ford, the same is true. Courteous and helpful are inadequate words to describe both the sales and service departments. Any and all concerns I've had over my 12 years of Escape ownership have always been managed expertly and with as little inconvenience to me as possible. Customers are treated like family. And it is appreciated.

Your service representative, Scott Harder, at Brown's Ford of Amsterdam, NY was excellent. He was very accommodating and made my service experience very convenient and easy. Initially, I had to deal with a different service rep. I believe he was the service manager. He was dismissive, curt, and unhelpful. He refused to offer me a rental/loaner and dismissed my service request (abnormal noise at idle, after putting vehicle in park) as a normal brake noise. Upon my next visit, Scott Harder recognized my complaint as being associated with a current TSB (2014 F-150 V-6 EcoBoost) and offered me curbside service to and from my work location. My issue seems to have been resolved. Scott was great. The other guy was not.

Had oil changed service was great. I did ask about my car air bag. On the passengers side the dash has a split. I have asked about having this repaired 1 1/2 years ago. A picture was taken and the response is I have to get with seth. I have asked multi times when I go for my oil change and get the same answere. Still waiting on answere when I went for my oil change last month? How long does this take to get an answere from the this dealership. I think 1 1/2 years is a long time. This is the only bad experience I am having and it continues. What is you opinion to this answere and when do I get an answere?Merry Gaughan

My experience with Brown's Ford, Amsterdam has been good. The service dept was polite and knowledgable.I am, however, dissapointed with Ford. My vehicle needed a new transmission installed, under warrenty, and because of all the hoops the sevice dept had to jump through with getting approval and a new transmission sent from Ford my, Explorer was in the shop for an entire month. I give the amsterdam team high marks, but unfortunately FORD tainted the experience with an almost insurmountable mountain of red tape.

The sales team that assisted me in my purchase was fantastic!the experience was not intimidating in the least, as it can sometimes feel when buying a car. In fact, it was more like friends trying to help me make my mind up on what would be the best choice for me. The auto I purchased is a Previously owned vehicle, and it has an issue with the transmission. Like the purchase, the whole team is working on rectifying the issue, and with the dedication I have seen there I am confident that they will succeed. So, pending that one issue being corrected, I can honestly say that this experience has been completely positive. I arrived earlier then my appointment time and they took me right in for my oil, lube, wiper blades and a check of my "Battery Saver Screen" coming on frequently on my 2014, F 150. The battery and charging system were checked out and it's operation was satisfactorily explained to me and there was no problem. After 13 months of attempting to get a warrantied repair completed, and recieving no satisfaction from the insurance provider, I visited the sales area of the browns ford in amsterdam to express my dissatisfaction with the insurance that was sold to me when I purchased my new fusion. Several people at the dealership were familiar with the claim. After explaining that all I wanted was to have the repair completed, I was brought to the service area and an appointment was made to complete the repair. In addition because I had been unhappy, I left with a full tank of gas and a clean car. Thank you for turning a bad situation around !!!

The experience with the sales rep was fine, he was friendly and helpful. It was frustrating to provide the x-plan documents (browns requested more proof than what our corporate website states is acceptable material), Once I brought the truck home, the 2nd day the truck did not start. I had it jumped. The 3rd day I tried to start the truck it did not. I brought the truck to the dealership after getting it jumped. They did not offer a courtesy vehicle while they had the truck in the shop. More unhappy about getting a new vehicle and it is in the shop three days after purchas.

Tried getting a quick oil change at several of those quick lube services and they would not supply a standard oil product. I needed immediate service due to an extended road trip, thanks for the quick work on the oil change.

My wife and I are retired and will be living in Edinburg most of the time and Brooklyn, NY the rest. I have been to many dealerships from Brooklyn to Amsterdam, New Jersey as well. Once we narrowed it down to F-350 diesel Brown's had what we were looking for. The first person we met at Brown's was Justin Frederick. Justin went out of his way and dropped everything to help us. He was knowledgeable, understanding, professional and was able to get the entire staff to help us in any way. The vehicle had some issues from being on the lot for awhile and all the resources were put into action so that this truck was presented in like new condition. Justin from sales, Bob from management and John from finance got the plan into action right away. The collision shop, sales, finance, parts and service made this experience enjoyable. Thank you Brown's. Looking forward to having a great automobile friendship for years to come.

Because of his helpfulness at a time when I wasn't actually looking to buy a car and his non- pushy nature, I went to Brown's Ford when I was ready to buy. We were very happy with our car buying experience at Browns Ford in Amsterdam. We went in with a good idea of what we were looking for. The sales person who helped us, Justin, was very knowledgeable and helpful. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They worked with us to help us get the vehicle we wanted while staying within our budget and never made us feel pressured through the process. Overall we are more than pleased with our new vehicle and our experience with Browns Ford in Amsterdam. Went to this place to get a "99 cent" inspection. WORST MISTAKE EVER. Tried telling me my less than 3 year old car needed $600 in repairs before it would pass inspection. As soon as I got suspicious and asked to bring it somewhere else to confirm they offered a 10% discount, I refused of course because this was even more shady. I went to two other independent places and both said the problems they said I had were not true, and the parts were perfectly fine. I have both documentation before and after the fact, I regularly maintain my vehicle so keeping records is important to me. Report will be filed with NY Attorney General. Don't get ripped off. P.S. I see the Positive reviews are for buying cars here, my review is based solely on their repair / inspection services. USE CAUTION!

What a great buying experience I recently had with Browns Ford of Amsterdam.Larry Lachmayer and his team of sales reps worked hard on getting me the deal that was right for me. I had a leased vehicle that was coming due and Bob Boniparte, Pat Ilicky worked pretty much a whole day with me.We laughed alot and had a good time( although I know at times I probably drove them crazy) but they didnt give up. This was my 3rd new car that I purchased from Browns in the last four years and the buying experience has been great all three times. Their team of service pros is second to none.Seth has always treated me like a valued customer when I bring my vechicles in for service and they always get them done in a timely and professional manner.Lastly and certainly not least,John Simmons, the fianancial expert,is simply fantastic.Mr Jeff Brown I hope you read these because I want you to know that John is truly real assett to your organization, as is all the people I mentioned in this review.Guys ,Thank You ,I know it wasn't easy ,but I appreciate one and all of your efforts.I will return in a few years to go again!

I was in the flood in Fort Plain,NY on 6/28/13. My insurance co. Towed my car to Browns Ford Collision Center. Browns Ford gave me a loaner for 4 days. When I went back to look at my car that was in the flood Rick said it is totaled. I walked accross the parking lot to look at vehicles at Browns Ford. I never expected to purchase a vehicle that day, I did. Larry Lachmeyer and Pat llnicki was very helpful and understanding of the situation. There was no pressure to purchase that day. It just happened. They did every thing above and beyond to not only help me in the situation I was in, but purchasing a vehicle as well. Great people to do business with.
