I usually don't fill out things like this, but Austin Parks & Mike Thomas provided us with a fantastic car buying experience. We have had some crummy dealership experiences over the years, but these guys renewed my faith in dealership personnel. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the market, in fact we just sent our daughter to do business with them. Oh, and the car ('09 Bullitt Mustang) is awesome.

I took my Fiesta in for a warranty repair. They did an amazing job replacing the clutch. I had a slight vibration problem afterwards which they addressed in the most positive and professional manner. It isn't what happens when things go right that makes a service center good. It is what they do when something goes wrong. They accelled at fixing even my minor concerns. I will return there even after the warranty is expired. BRAVO.

The whole experience amazed me. The salesman, Brad Harrison, was most helpful and knew more about the product he was selling than any other I have ever dealt with. Everything went amazingly fast. The auto, I expected to order from the factory, was in stock at Gabus. Two days - in and out with a new car. Faster than a special order at KFC or McDonalds. Glad that I came to Gabus first. No haggling on prices because the first deal they offered us each time was reasonable and comparable to our research on prices. We only stopped in for an oil change and ended up two days later with a new car! Took time to 'browse' and was soon working with a great salesman. (Recommended by our usual salesman, who now works a different area). As usual, we were treated like family by an awesome staff. I have been a customer of theirs for 6+ years and have never had a bad experience and I have dealt with pretty much every part of their company from sales to service to auto body repair (unfortunately multiple times due to deer season). Everyone is always friendly and they get the job done fast and done right the first time. Keep up the exceptional work! Also, your shuttle driver (I believe the morning shift, name possibly Darryl?) also deserves to be recognized. 0 starsI made an apointment for an oil change over the phone. I asked for a time of 12:30 p.m. but the lady told me the only think available was 1:40 p.m., so I had her sign me up. When I arrived, the obviously disinterested "service" writer told me I was supposed to be there at 12:40. When I explained that I was told 1:40, he said I could wait and he might get me in but it would be at least 3 hours. I asked him to note that I was there at the time given to me and told him I wasn't going to wait 3 hours when it was their mistake. I also asked him to note that the GPS in my Explorer was still not working right. He said something about the lube techs not being qualified to fix the GPS, and I told him there was no one there who could fix it since I'd had the car in at least 8 times for the prroblem. I asked him to come and look at the GPS, because it showed me over half a mile from where I actually was. He refused to look at it, and told me I insulted "his" techs and he wasn't going to help me. I told him if he had any techs that could fix their product, I wouldn't insult them. He accused me again of insulting "his" techs and raised his voive to the point that the service manager came out to se what was going on. He escorted me out to garage, but didn't ay anything to the loud-mouthed writer or apologize for the way I was being treated. His demeanor did seem to change when he looked at the GPS and saw how screwed up it was. He said he would look into it. I told him before I left that I would be switching all of my car needs to Dewey Ford, where I was sure I would be treated better.The service manager called my home the next day, but that was too little, too late. My entire family has gotten their cars at Gabus for a long time, but none of us will ever go back there again.

We purchased our 2010 Mustang from Steve Sanders, and we were very happy with how we were treated. He found multiple discounts and beat four other dealers on price, while getting me the car I wanted.In July 2015 we were looking at a new car for my wife, and she didn't have any Ford vehicles on her list to test drive. We did stop to see Steve out of loyalty, and he took the time to show us many of the available Ford models. There was no pressure, but he found a car we both found comfortable in, at a price we felt was very reasonable. We left that day with our 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid, and we have been very happy with it. Initial contact was made online and the response was very prompt, but not intrusive. When we arrived at the dealer, our sales rep had the cars we were interested in ready for our inspection. Ben was very friendly, helpful and professional and we never felt that we were being pressured or pushed to do anything. Their finance manager was wonderful. She got the financing we needed at the price we wanted and was very friendly and professional. Overall, I have nothing negative to say about our experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this dealership to anyone.

This is the second 2016 Escape that I've purchased from Charles Gabus Ford in the past 4 months. I live about 200 miles away (Nebraska), and I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a "Great deal" and a "No Pressure" approach. I bought a set of new Michelin tires for my 2011 Focus.I used the shuttle service to go home and wait for the job to finish. The driver was very friendly and knows the town quite well. I also enjoyed the free oil change. Gabus is a very good dealership.

Steve gave us options to choose from. He was very patient and wasn't in a hurry. He really listened to what we wanted and gave us options based on what he had and what we wanted. Since moving to Iowa in 2001. I looked for a place to service my Ford's. Coming from St. Louis the dealers were more expansive the a local shop's. This is not true with Charles Gabus Ford at least with the local shops I tried. Not only is their shop excellent to deal with but they got the work done when they said they would and no surprises. They worked with me when my funds weren't as good as they should have been and did the work that just needed to get done at that time.Now on to the sale department. I have bought 6 vehicles from them dealing only with 1 salesman and that is Jeff Turner. He listen to what I said I would like and did not try and up-sell me to another vehicle. But he made suggestion when I was looking at a fairly new used vehicle but was able to get me into a brand new vehicle same model for the same price. They are not their just for the sales but to make a long term relationship, which they have with me.Wish I could select all three reasons for a visit because this covers all three selections.

I though their was something wrong with my vent due to a windshield rapaired by another company. Not once was I told they couldn't do it, they took the the time to listen to me and helped me out .. Typically companies are quick at pointing the finger and not wanting to take a look at the problem or wanting to charge an outrageous amount to look into the problem. during times like this I am grateful I bought my car at Charles Gabus and not another dealer. Thank you!!!

Austin was amazing to work with...had the vehicle ready to go on a test drive when I got there. He had my car looked at while we were gone so when we arrived back and I wasn't totally satisfied with that car we test drove 1 more came back in love and ready to start paperwork. I had an amazing trade in number! I will definitely return in the future!

They communicated very well as to what they were going to do and how long it would take. They greeted me immediately and escorted me to who I needed to see as well as to the waiting room. It was done in a timely manner. The cashiers helped with a credit charge. Everyone was very friendly and professional. Waiting room had internet access so I was able to work while waiting.

Brad in financing really worked hard to find me a loan at a good % with all my financial problems in the past. Josh was really good with getting back with me, and the service did a really good job explaining details in the car and syncing my cell phone with the car. Right off the bat Austin Parks was very friendly and listened to what were looking for. He was very helpful in explaining to us the ins and outs of the model we came to look at, as well as the warranties included with a certified pre-owned vehicle, and also respected the fact that we came in with a specific budget. Brenda Bracewell was also helpful and efficient in advising us. Mandi Hill explained the features in detail as we were about to leave the dealership, very friendly and helpful as well. She told us that we could stop by anytime with questions, which I appreciated. The team was very fast and efficient in getting the car ready for us to take home - we came in at about 2 or 3 pm and the car was ready to go when we were finished with the finance manager. Last, Austin has very good taste in food :) I recommend Austin, Brenda, and Mandi with no reservations!

This was our son's first experience with shopping for an auto. Brad Harrison took Drew, our son under his wing and treated him like his one of his own. It was a very different experience from other dealerships we visited that day. He listened and helped our son look at options and keep near his budget. Drew our son - 19 yrs was nervous about coming to a dealership that was 'open' with salesman all around, but left with the concept he could do this again, and said, "from the start of this place to the end, pretty nice handling" with a smile. Dan in finance helped educate our son Drew too. It was a really good feeling to know that you are as concerned about decisions as we are. I was kept informed with what the status was had a much higher end rental than I ever expected and was extremely happy with all of it. I was able to call my insurance company and get information about how the new car would affect my insurance and getting gab insurance. I was stopped on westbound 235 due to traffic, and was rear-ended recently. The day after my accident, I requested that my car be towed to Gabus, on advice from family since they own Kia. I found the man at the service desk to be helpful. Because my car was not in drivable condition, I needed a rental. I was directed to Nathan. I have never been in this situation before and have never rented a car, so had many questions. One of which was whether I could use my father's credit card to cover the up front cost until insurance would cover it. He immediately raised his voice and stated that "You can't just use someone else's credit card to drive away in one of our cars." So I gave him my own. When I inquired as to how the situation would be handled when the at-fault insurance kicked in to cover the cost of the rental, he proclaimed "You can't just walk into this place and say I want a car and I don't want to pay for it!" That was never my intention nor did I ever say those words, I simply had questions. He in turn began treating me as if I was a criminal and was trying to pull one over on him and get a car for free. He then stated that "When people come into this place after an accident being rude to me when I'm part of the solution that's not fair!" When I suggested that he was not very nice and had been confrontational since I walked in he began arguing like a child--no I'm not, you are, I'm not rude, you are! He said this multiple times throughout the exchange. I was still shaken up from the accident and was dumbfounded at his lack of customer service skills, not to mention human compassion. At this point I was so upset by his abuse that I began sobbing. Finally, he backed off and pretended to be nice, but the damage was done. He led me outside to the car, still sobbing, past all the other employees in the immediate area. I was horrified, humiliated, and IN TEARS AT THE FAULT OF A CUSTOMER SERVICE EMPLOYEE. If I had not had obligations that morning, and had more time, I would no doubt have gone somewhere else and had a better experience. I cannot believe that a person so confrontational and unsympathetic is allowed to have face to face contact with customers, some of which have just been through traumatic car accidents. There is clearly a problem present when an employee thinks he has the right to speak to ANYONE like that, let alone a CUSTOMER who will likely bring THOUSANDS of dollars in service, repairs, and cost of a rental to his place of employment by the time all is said and done. His behavior was disgusting and it is unacceptable.

Josh attempted to help me out. Had no clue, zero personality and did hardly anything to make the sale. Called up Jim Bintner and told him what I was interested in and he would have Josh call me back. Jim was in too much of a hurry and lied to me on the phone. Didn't tell Josh that we even spoke and some of the worst professionalism I have ever seen. Very shady and lazy. It was my first time buying a car and I was very particular on what I wanted and where I wanted my monthly payments to be. Everything was super easy and there was no pressure to buy or to buy something that was out of my price range. I was in a complicated situation with my fiance being gone and we both needed our names on the car, and they took care of everything for us and made sure all the paperwork got to him and that everything got filled out. It was a strenuous process, but they made is as easy as could be.

From start to finish, the sales and service were outstanding. Steve was an excellent salesman; we live 3 hours away and he was great about emailing us back and forth, and working through two different vehicles. He was fair in our trade, and offered every available discount. When we went to pick up the vehicle, they were ready for us, and were so efficient and friendly. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!!!! They showed us all of the internal features, and we felt comfortable when the driving the vehicle off the lot. Steve was great about touching base with us after the sale. The only drawback was that we had to drive 3 hours to get such great service from a Ford dealer, but it was definitely worth it!!!!!!

Professional approach- not a pressure sale. Les was very knowledgeable and patient. Nick in financing was equally extremely pleasant to deal with.We were made to feel that our business was important even though we were buying a smaller vehicle. We appreciated that our elderly Celica was taken as a trade-in and also that we were advised of current rebates that helped us arrive at a price that we really liked. Ben was very helpful educating us to the array of features in the car prior to driving away. Will definitely refer business to Gabus and to Les.

Jason and the staff in body shop was outstanding. I brought my car in to have the headliner fixed. I asked if they could take a look at the passenger door, as it seems to be coming apart. Jason said he would have the guys look at it for me while they fix the headliner. They fixed the headliner and also cleaned the grease streak from the sunroof cover that had stained it after the first repair. They also fixed my door and did not charge me. This is what I call outstanding customer service and going beyond to satisfy a customer. I will definitely be using Charles Gabus in the future and will tell everyone about the excellent service. I couldn't Thank them enough for going the extra mile.

I am disappointed at the quality of work from this dealer. There were 3 things that I needed fixed prior to buying my car, paint peel on side mirror, plate inside the drivers door and brakes. Sure, it looked like these items were fixed, but within a couple of months my side mirror started peeling in the exact same spot that they were supposed to fix. They had assured me that they would repaint the whole mirror and not touch it up. The piece inside the drivers door gets caught on my foot every time I get in or out and now less than 15,000 miles later, I have to put new pads and rotors on my car. I hardly drive my car because i work out of my home, but yet I have these problems. I also purchased a warranty through them when i purchased my car. As long as i had my oil changes done there i would have coverage. Well, I had a problem with my emissions light coming on so I had them look at it (when I had my oil change done) and they said I didn't have a warranty. I thought they would be a reliable dealership. Disappointed.

This is my second time taking my car in for repairs. So far things done for my car is been in great shape when it's time for to pick up. I was very happy to know that my car was finished by the end of the week instead waiting over the weekend. I love that my car insurance, progressive, is there to communicate what's going to happen to my car. When getting the estimate cost and when it'll be complete was good timing. I couldn't ask for more. I knew going back to Charles gabus would be a good choice because the first time having them fix one of my fenders and some paint job was done. It's good to know my car will come back in one good looking car again like it never went through any accidents! I appreciate all the help you guys can. Thanks a bunch!

Was a bit disappointed that my oil change took 2 hours. Oil cap seal was broken and they did not have one? Really?? Had to wait an extra hour for one to be delivered. Why not "borrow" one from another vehicle and send me on my way? Oh well, would have been nice if they would have comped my tire rotation. Overall, Gabus is a good place. Nice facilities. Very nice staff. Guessing this was a one time thing.

Our salesman Daniel was top notch. No pressure but really informative and most importantly he knew his product really well. Can't stand it when I know more about a product after 5 minutes on the internet than the person trying to assist me. Daniel knows the value of high quality customer service and this was apparent from the second Daniel introduced himself. Our local Ford store in Colorado is crap and we will never ever shop there again. If Daniel was in Colorado, we'd buy all of our future vehicles from him. The other Folks at the Ford store were great too, everyone seemed to be customer service focused. Overall we really had a great experience at Gabus Ford.

Then i stopped by Auto body to have them look at a scratch and tell me what to do- AWESOME service. the gentleman got some compound and came back rubbed polished most of the scratch until it disappeared. I CTUALLY thought I needed a body shop appt. He was fabulous-- only Wish I had gotten his name. I am a fan of GAbus Ford service and am impressed every time I come!!

We started our purchase online. Ben Howe did an outstanding job almost immediately after I had requested information on a vehicle. Ben worked very quickly all day to insure things went smoothly and we were able to come purchase our vehicle right away. I didn't tell Ben but I had also been inquiring about a vehicle from another very well known dealership and they took 2 days to return my online request. Ben had our financing and vehicle ready in less than one day. We were very happy!

Josh did a wonderful job helping us out via email and phone prior to getting to the dealership and once we got there, test drove the vehicles and we purchased them both within a couple days. I came in about 1 hour before scheduled appt, so the lifetime oil change and tire rotation appt got done within that 1 hour, and I was out of there early at my scheduled appt time. To improve service, provide keys to cashier w/ invoice, so I don't have to make another trip to service advisor to find the keys.

Salesman, Jeff Turner was not at all pushy. He was so willing to work with us and make sure we had exactly what we wanted. Although I would have liked to get more for my trade in, I felt he was completely honest with my husband and I and did the best that he could. We bought a Mustang last year from Les and our experience with him was the very same. This is why we are a repeat customer.

I was scheduled for a 230 oil change. I dropped my truck off at noon and expected to pick it up later that night after hours. The team called me back before 2 and said my truck was completed! I had a very pleasant and easy experience purchasing a new car from your dealership. My sales person, David Geyer, was top notch. He was extremely helpful, answered all my questions, and explained everything to me very well. I will highly recommend him to everyone I know. My experience from beginning to end was great. Brad Rodish in the finance department helped me from start to finish with the financing and was fantastic! When I picked the car up, it was spotless and looked super. The features were explained to me perfectly and my phone was synced to my car before I left. Everyone was friendly, professional, courtesy, and helpful.

I drove in just on a whim to maybe get something a little newer and a little nicer than what I had. Larry caught me as I was driving in and found out what I was wanting, we looked at some used cars and after doing some number figuring over the course of a day he got me into a brand new car for the same payment as used! I have already referred a friend to Larry to try to work on a deal for them. The guy who did the final delivery of the car to me was cool as well. Enjoyed working with all of them!

The sales person assigned to me, Jeffrey, led me all over the car lot to find just the right car for me. He told me he would help me find the best amount of vehicle for the money and for what I needed. My monthly payments were actually lowered from my previous 3 year lease on a Toyota RAV4. I got many upgrades by purchasing the Escape, plus the lower payment. Thanks Ford and Charles Gabus Ford!!

After purchasing our second Gabus Ford Vehicle {first purchase in 2007} in November 2013, we realized we had made the wrong choice. When we returned to our Sales person, Mike Zaver, and explained our problem to him, he immediately put us at ease and went right to work to solve our problem. forty-five minutes later, we had "struck a deal", and was driving our {new to us}, 2013 Ford Taurus. I was greeted by a service advisor immediately when I pulled in, my work order was written correctly, and my wait was short. Mike Woodard was the advisor who helped me, he's new since I was there last, but he treated me very well, and did an excellent job explaining the inspection to me.

Service Dept was very prompted in calling me to inform me of what they found was the problem. In addition they were prompt in calling me to inform me my vechile had been repaired. Finally, I appreciated a call the day after I picked up my car to ask if everything was alright. Great customer service from the Service Department.

I found a specialty vehicle for sale at Charles gabus Ford in Iowa, it is a 2010 Ford F350 Harley Davidson edition diesel. I could only find a few for sale around the country because they were a limited build vehicle. I called on Monday March 17, 2014 and asked a few detailed questions about the truck. I explained to the salesman (Steve Reiman) that I was willing to commit to buying the vehicle over the phone if he would do me service of being my eyes over the phone and the fact I live in Minneapolis and wasnt going to drive over 4 hours just to look at it. After my heartfelt talk to Steve Reiman about how I have to put my faith and trust into him as a salesman and a person whom knows vehicles to inspect the truck thouroughly for any scratches, dings or dents both inside and outside of the truck. I also asked him to check the service records and to make sure that all fluids and filters were changed which I specifically expressed that I required the 2 fuel filters be changed as well. Steve told he would personally go outside and check over the vehicle, inside and out, and go down to service to see what the records looked like and double check everything. He told me he would call me back in about 20 minutes. After 3 hours I called Steve back because of the lack of a return phone call to me. He stated that he had gotten busy with other customers which I understand, these guys work on commission so its a numbers game. Steve assured me that because Charles Gabus Ford goes through every incoming vehicle with a fine tooth comb in service and fixes any scratches, dings or dents that I had nothing to worry about and that the truck would be in the condition he said it would be, which was "great". I took this mans word the truck was "great". I committed to purchasing the truck over the phone. I called Steve 3 MORE TIMES over the course of the week to assure him my financing went through at my credit union and to verify that all service had been done asking yet again about the fuel filters to which he replied "Oh yeah, I forgot to go ask that, I'll go do that and call you back". Needless to say Steve got busy again and I recieved no call back. I called Steve one last time on Friday March 21, 2014 to assure him I was coming to the dealership the next day and should arrive between 9 and 10am and I ask yet again about the service records and the fuel filters. Steve hadn't checked on anything, he was on the golf course and wouldnt be in until Saturday morning. Let the disappointment begin... I guess a week wasn't long enough to proivide a little customer service. I arrived at 9:30am at Charles Gabus Ford after a 4.5 hour long road trip. I examine the truck thouroughlyinside and out, test drive the truck, and made the decision to purchase it. Steve finally got me the alswer about the servicing and the fuel filters. They had NOT changed them and I expected it done considering it is part of regular maintenance and they had no way to tell me how long it had been since it had been done. It took about an hour which isnt bad but I felt my time was being wasted since I asked for this to be completed a week prior. Steve said he "did that for me" as a favor. Thanks Steve. I was ushered to the finance dept. where I paid for thre truck and signed the approriate paperwork. They brough me into a "delivery area" where the dissapointment continued. There was a very young man that was going to answer all my questions about the truck and have me sign off on it. As soon as I started the truck I noticed a faint squeek coming from under the hood. I asked the young man what it was and he looked at me like I just asked him an astro physics question. I said it sounds like a serpentine belt and tensioner pulley. We drove the truck back to service for the second time now. I get out of the truck and the kid walks around to the drivers side to pop the hood release. Now the truck is running so the keys were in the ignition, the young man reaches over, locks the doors and shuts it. Now the truck is running and doors are all locked. At least the hood is open though... He walked into the service Dept and disappears. I assumed he went for a window lock jimmy. I sat there for 30 minutes with no sign of the young man. A service rep comes out from the inside where the service writers desks are and asks if I need any help. I tell him the whole story and he hopped to returning in about 1 minute with a mechanic and a jimmy, and they unlock the door. One problem down and another major one to go. I tell the service rep that knew what he was doing and was very helpful about the squeek and he goes to get the diesel machanic immediately. The mechanic listens to the truck, says it needs a belt and a tensioner pulley, just as I thought. Now here in lies the problem wuith this situation and why I am very upset. Steve, the salesman whom I trusted and expected to be my eyes on this truck, the salesman whom assured me that every truck is fully serviced and there wouldnt be any thing wrong with it. Never actually did any of the things I asked of him. Thanks again Steve, and youre welcome for the commission check. The service guys saved my day. It was 1:30, four hours after my arrival. They informed me they had to go to another Ford dealer to get the parts and it took 2 hours to do the job. I grit my teeth but am thankful for the quick help from service. I walk back out to my ride down to the dealer and ask if we can wait another 3 or 4 hours until the truck is fixed, yet again. I confronted the saleman Steve Reiman about his short commings and am retorted to with a bunch of typical excuses about how he cant be held responsible for everyones job at the dealership. I umpolitely remind him I asked HIM to help me, not anyone else at the dealership. We part on bad terms.By now I and my original ride to Des Moines are both starving so we leave to find some lunch. I finally got a call at 3:45pm that the truck is done. We rush back, signed every piece of paper they wanted and head for home. By the tome I got home, The original 9 hour trip had become a 14 hour trip. I felt that my business wasnt appreciated by sales and they had ZERO customer service. Service and the mechanics however I would buy doughnuts and coffee for a week. They are the only reason I made it at all.

When I drove into the bay, I waited. A greeter(older gentleman) was finishing up with someone and seeing that no one came out, was clearly concerned. He went in and reported my presence. When leaving, he was super friendly & said to come back and buy a new car. He really made an effort to make me feel well served and connected to the dealership.

this is the 3rd truck i have bought here,,two ford rangers and now the 150, your web site is good and easy to use i tried stivers and dewy and the web sites arent good so i went back to gabus. i know the service is good at gabus, i am going to have to come back next week for some service as the one i just bought needs a few minor fixes and i know it will done with no problem to ..my kids thought i paid too much as i really get anything off but i wanted it. i also appreciated the salesman because he was helping out mike who i origianlly talked to like i told him you do need to work as a team that is how to get things done, this is a small thing but when i went to credit and came out all the new salesmen were sitting in a circle and one of them offered to go get my car for me.. i thought that was nice,its a little thing but shows team environment...as you can see i am into customer service because that is what i do for a living and i always try to go the extra mile when i help folks and appreciate it and notice it when i need service!!!

What we liked?? Everything!! We felt welcomed - not like we were just "another customer". It was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We were able to enjoy the experience. We don't make new purchases very often. It has been a long time since we purchased a new vehicle. It was enjoyable, simple. Even when I remembered something I had forgotten in our trade-in -- a simple phone call was all it took to have the item sent to me!!!

I first heard of and engaged with Charles Gabus Ford when buying my 2011 Ford Fiesta. Through that experience I met and worked with Less Sharp. His professionalism and people skills not only with me, but also my wife brought us back when looking for a new car for my wife. We purchased a new Ford Taurus Sho in 2012 also working with Less. Our experience with your service department, service staff, sales staff and loan personal have all be a extremely positive one so when it became time to look to replacing the Fiesta it was a easy choice, we called Less and as always we were taken care of and purchased a Ford Focus Titanium. This experience was no less positive than our previous ones. We will be coming back to Charles Gabus Ford for all our new and used car needs.

We drive 200 miles from Kansas City to buy our new cars from Charles Grabus Ford. We get a new Ford every two years and make the drive to Des Moines to get it. The main reason is Pat Crane. We used to "dread" buying a new car until we bought our first car from Grabus Ford and Pat was our sales guy. Pat makes the whole buying experience pleasant from start to finish. I called Gabus and we discussed what options I wanted and what price I was willing to pay. I got a call back from my saleswoman stating that they have a F150 in both green and blue with the options I want in the price range I was looking at. Made the two hour drive to Gabus. We looked at the two trucks to see that neither one of them had the options. So we started looking at F150s that were $2,500 more???I asked to speak with a manager. I explained how his saleswoman told us that they had trucks with (x) options at (x) price. When we got there that was not the case. The manager shrugged his shoulders and said that was on me and I should of researched it more. I told him speaking to his saleswoman and getting direct info on the phone was my research. He said I should of used the Internet and finished our conversation with a uncomfortable silent blank stare. The manager was an older gentleman. I was absolutely shocked that was all he had to say knowing we drove two hours to get there because of a "mistake" his saleswoman made on not one, but two trucks. Wasted over half a day driving to Gabus Ford to be told "it's on you". I will never consider a purchase from Charles Gabus Ford.

I purchased my mustang in April 2009. At that time part of the deal offered was "free oil change for life". I was told to just pull in, present your card and I would be taken care of. All went well for 3 years. I'm now being told you have to make an appointment for an oil change when I stopped in today. I get off work at 4:30 & the next later appointment would be a week from today. When I asked about leaving it on Saturday morning when they opened, "They would try and fit me in", and could take up to 4 hrs. Really, my choices are 1 week, or 4 hrs. for an oil change. As I began to express my extreme disappointment, the woman doing the scheduling stopped me and said, "you can't think you're the only one", & I told her I realize I'm not the only one wanting service work.This ploy of free oil changes for life doesn't seem to be all it was made out to be at the time of the sale. Is it because its a "free" oil change and now must take a back seat to more profitable customers (if so, it was never mentioned during the sale period), or is this a change in management style toward customers since Charles Gabus passed. Many dealerships have created means of handling passed promises made to customers when sales promotions were presented. I am very pleased with my car. But I could have bought it at any Ford dealership as it is the vehicle I'm happy with. The dealer is quickly becoming something else. I'm sure from now on as I have to make an appointment a week in advance, or make an allowance of 2, 3, or 4 hours for a simple "FREE" oil change...that grain of salt will continue to be pushed a little deeper into the wound!

I had recently been in an accident where my 2012 Ford Escape was totaled. Because of the great experience I had with Kelly Cornish I called him on a Friday. It was his day off but when I explained I would not be able to have the rental car much longer he came in. I had already done a lot of research on line and knew what I wanted. He went and got the 2014 Escape and we took off for a test drive. It was a done deal. Kelly again made the purchase very easy. The price of the Escape was actually much less than it showed on line so that was a wonderful surprise. We drove it off the lot that evening. I cannot thank him enough for coming in on his day off. So far all is great and I have and would recommend Charles Gabus Ford and Kelly to anyone.

Came in for service for my car because I was having problems with my duel climate control. Kept saying it was fixed but it wasn't would pick up my car and something else would be wrong. On my final visit the service tech damaged trim parts inside of my car had grease all over the seats, doors and the touch screen, parts were not put back together correctly it was a mess. Raised a fit because I was tired of the way they were treating my car and they fixed the damaged part but also in the end banned me from the service department, it doesn't matter anyway because I do not plan on returning because lord only knows what other damage they would cause or forget to put a part back on. I posted a public youtube video of just how my car was returned to me because I feel people need to know how poor of service you get from this company.

I appreciated that Jeff realized immediately that I had done my research and didn't insult me with low-ball quotes. I was looking for a straight-shooter and found it in Jeff. I would have walked out if I had experienced what many people think of as a "typical car buying" process.While my experiences with Jeff were very good, I do have to point out that Ford Motor Co. could do a much better job of keeping customers informed when ordering a new vehicle. My new F-150 took nine and a half weeks to arrive and Jeff had trouble getting me any firm updates on the progress of the process. In this day and age, I would think Ford would want to do it's best to keep a new buyer informed and excited as they go through the building and delivery of their ordered to spec vehicle. I would suggest sending out text messages at different stages of the cycle so the buyer feels informed and engaged during the long wait. While I love my new truck and it was worth the wait, I think Ford could certainly improve the overall expereince for someone ordering a new car or truck.

I just stopped by Gabus Ford to take a quick look after I had done some online reviewing of the Ford Edge from several different dealerships. Erica Hall greeted me and was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and considerate, especially on a Friday afternoon. I surprised myself and made the decision to purchase a new vehicle that day. Jake Simmons walked me through a training session, which lasted long after the dealership had closed for the day!! WOW!! I was able to drive home that day in my new Ford Edge. My sales representative, Erika Hall, stayed throughout the training and left for day herself when I finally drove away. Excellent customer service!! Our experience with Charles Gabus Ford started with a drive-by of their lot on my way to my military duty as I live 2 hours away. Once the wife and I were able to stop in and check out the car we were looking at (2013 Ford Focus ST), we talked with Josh Christensen as he went over the car after finding out more about us and what we were looking for in a car and why we wanted to look at the Focus ST. Josh went along with us as we test drove the car. We loved the car, so a long to making the deal we went. We traded in my wife's car and I feel like we received a great deal and I'm still not disappointed one bit. They went above and beyond making us feel welcome and taken care of. I was a firm GM buyer, but due to GM not being able to stack up on certain aspects, I will be gladly buying another vehicle from Charles Gabus Ford even though it is two hours away and I have multiple dealers with ten minutes.

FYI, Charles Gabus Ford uses S&C Automotive to put in car remote starters. If you have any problems after you leave the lot, you may have to take of work to have them fix it. S&C Automotive does not work weekends, which is when most people do their car maintenance. I have had nothing but problems with my remote when I first picked up my new car, then they fixed it (had to have a relative take off work several times). Now, the remote again "needs to be re-programmed". Again, I will have to either take a vacation day or ask a friend to take off work so they can simply re-program the remote. Luckily, every time they have had to fix the POS, it is within the 3 year warranty. After 3 years, I will have to throw it away. But at least I have two cool key chains out of it.Not happy with either S&C or Ford for using them.

I have been trying to get my car in for an oil change for almost 3 weeks. No joke. They advertise "Oil Changes For Life" which does you no good if you can't get your car in for service. It takes almost a week and a half to get it in for an oil change unless I want to leave it for a day to see if they can squeeze it in and that doesn't guarantee that it will even get done. I called and spoke to Jim Bitner (General Manager) and his exact words to me were "we are busy, what do you want me to do?" He said that they were hiring and couldn't "find people qualified to work there" Well, then my suggestion for Gabus is: Don't advertise and promote something you can't truly deliver on!! Luckily, I was able to call Dewey Ford in Ankeny and they got my car in within 10 minutes. They even gave me my oil change for free to try them out and washed the car before giving it back. Odd that a dealership that I wasn't a customer bent over backwards for me, yet the dealership that I was a customer at treated me like crap. I have purchased two vehicles at this dealership and been a customer for years. There will not be a third vehicle purchased, and I will not recommend this place to anyone!

I found truecar web site and priced several vehicles. After entering my information, I got a phone call from Josh at Gabus ford with a car I wanted. He was knowledgeable, low pressure, courteous, and gave a a deal we could not pass up. I was pleasantly surprised to find out from the business office that my new car purchase also included free oil changes for life. Great Dealership and good staff to work with. David got me into the car I wanted in as little as 1.5 hours and with a price that I needed. While I was waiting the staff were chatty and cordial in helping me pass the time. This is my first Ford and my first trip to this dealership. This dealership 'earned' my business from here on...

Steve Sanders was recommended to me by a friend that I work with who had recently purchased a vehicle from him. Steve was very responsive to my questions and had the new F150 XLT all ready to go (off the lot, clean with gas) when I arrived for a test drive. This was not the case at other dealerships. He also rode along on the test drive to point out features and answer questions on the truck. He made the process as easy as it gets from first contact to financing, etc.This was our first purchase from Gabus Ford and most likely won't be our last!

He found it. he contacted us. we went out one evening and test drove. filled out paper work. next day we picked up our car. it took about 2 hours total. it was wonderful and we were treated like royalty.

Charles Gabus offers a huge selection of vehicles and an incredible service department/body shop to make you think you are at a mega car sales center. However, we were warmly welcomed and treated with great respect in a truly family atmosphere from start of sale to end. We have received excellent service in the past as well. Gabus Ford is a hallmark of the Des Moines area, and we were thrilled to find our next vehicle there!

We have always used a different dealership and our salesman retired and we didn't seem to feel we were getting the same service so we thought we would try a new dealership and had a fantastic salesman and great service! They were all easy to work with and considered I get a discount through my father's retirement from Ford they didn't try to undercut me on my trade-in as others have in the past. I would deal with them again!

I very recently traded my 1998 Ford Ranger for a 2004 Ford Ranger from Charles Gabus Ford. I was referred to Wade Fessler by an ex Charles Gabus employee and must say I was glad I was. I have bought multiple vehicles but never from a "big" dealer. Wade had a very low pressure approach and although I could tell he was busy (I think he had at least one other potential buyer there at the same time I was there) he never made me feel rushed. I was not in a position where I HAD to trade but rather WANTED to upgrade so I went in with a trade number in mind and told myself I would walk away if I didn't get it. I did get attached to the truck I now own as it was exactly what I wanted, lower miles, and a local trade one owner with a squeaky clean AutoCheck Report. Despite the attachment, after the test drive and initial negotiations on Monday we were $500 apart and I was told that there was no room left. I wasn't particularly surprised by this, as I knew I was going in a little strong on my trade, but again it was a WANT not a NEED so as I promised myself I initially walked away.Wade gave me a call after work on Tuesday and genuinely listened to my concerns regarding the finances, I once again gave him the magic number. I got a call back 10 minutes later telling to come come get my new truck. From that point it was seamless. Once again, Wade was very busy with another customer but made time to meet me when I arrived at the dealership and thank me for my business before going to close another deal.It would have been really nice to save all the haggling that got us where I started out asking for anyway and drive the truck home a night earlier but that's just part of the game.At this point I moved onto the finances. I had financing already lined up through my own bank and had no need to play the payment game with them so I can't attest to their financing procedures BUT I could not have enjoyed working with Brad Rodish more. Absolutely loved his laid back style, I think we spent more time BSing than we did doing business. As a matter of fact I almost got up without writing the check!I know salespeople work on commission and I know it was Wade's job to sell me a truck, but I feel like he was able to truly put himself in my shoes and provide valuable advice. I now drive a truck I love and got it at a price that me (and my banker) are very satisfied with (even if it was A LOT of work to get there.) The only thing I'm questioning slightly is the "Free Oil Changes for Life." Those were never mentioned throughout the process and they snuck "This Vehicle Does Not Get Free Oil Changes" on to the final purchase statement which I still kick myself for missing when I was signing the papers, I consider myself typically very thorough. I do not know if my truck did not qualify for the oil changes or if that was something that was taken out of the deal in order to get to my "magic number." I'm not upset, I would just appreciate an explanation.Overall my experience was strong (although rather lengthy) and I will definitely allow Gabus the opportunity to earn my business again, but not without comparing all competition, I am a firm believer that one should never do that. Money talks and price sells, but I certainly wouldn't hesitate to set foot back on the Gabus lot.

I purchased a 2011 red Ford XLT Escaspe and i'm very happy with my new car. I would reccomend Gabus Ford to anyone who needs to get a new or used set of wheels. Pat was able to immediately show me the vehicle in which I was interested. The only small negative was a little more explanation of the Synch system when I picked up the vehicle for delivery. I had no idea what the system was. The service rep coordinated my cell phone into the system for me. I got calls okay on it but got some wrong numbers when I first tried calling using Synch. It was a technological advance with which I had no familarity.

I was very happy with the knowledge Wade Fessler had on the Ford products. He made the deal go smooth and also gave me information on paint, upholstery, and rust protection that was very useful. We found an F-150 truck my husband was interested in on the Charles Gabus website and e-mailed for more info. Within minutes we had a response from Craig Sims, both by e-mail and by phone. We decided to make the two-hour drive to check it out and it was well worth the trip. Craig had the truck sitting out in front of the dealership and we drive it home two hours later. We found the buying/trade experience very easy and painless at Gabus. Craig was new on the job but was knowledgeable, professional and worked to get us the deal we wanted.

Todd Dishman came highly recommended by a friend. He had come in under budget for her and a difficult situation. Come to find out, she was referred by her parents! The process was quickly handled and Dishman adapted to what I wanted (making copies of basic information for me, informing me of borrowing issues I might encounter with a lower range, finding me the color I asked for without making me feel foolish -- hey, if men can demand hemi and v8 -- and was very helpful). I guess any improvement might involve the internet portion -- perhaps if salespeople had a way to be alerted by a phone they carry anyway I could have gotten hold of him earlier in the day Saturday and been able to close the deal even sooner.I have already posted a review on Facebook and given Todd's card out to two friends.Thank you.

I recently purchased a 2012 F150 FX4 4x4 SuperCrew from Charles Gabus Ford and I worked with Les Sharp. It was immediately apparent that Les knew what the customer had in mind and worked within the budget I had alotted. I had just come from Stiver's Ford and was displeased with some of the tactics used by the sales representive. None of those tactics were used on me at Charles Gabus by Les. Excellent marks and friendly staff. Superb experience.

We were looking to replace an 11yr. old focus and had been to several used car lots . We happened to drive a 2012 Focus (used) and liked it . Having previously purchased a 2010 Fusion thru Gabus Ford and having a real good experience ,we decided to stop in and see Les Sharp (the salesperson involved)to see what a new one would cost .After some haggleing over price (which, I think we both liked),we arrived at a mutal agreement . The purchase was very professionally handled and so far (4 days) we really like the car . Les was great to deal with and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone .The only complaint is that this model didn't come with rear floormats (a Company concern)!We have had previous contacts with the Dealer on our 2010 Fusion and have had an excellent experience . It took us a long time to decide if we should purchase a new truck or not. It was a hard decision since we had not had a car payment in ages. Joe introduced himself to us and was so very patient with the two of us. He didn't pressure us in any way, but was so very kind and generous with his time. We even went home to think about it some more. I'm sure Joe didn't ever think he would see us again. After our decision to go ahead with purchasing a new truck, we didn't even try to buy from anyone but Joe. He did a great job and has followed up after our purchase to make sure we were satisfied. We love our new fantastic truck (gas guzzler as it is) and when my Escape gets tired and needs replaced we hope Joe will be there to sell us a new Explorer! You thought I was going to say Escape didn't you? Don't like the new design.We also loved the way we were treated as they filled up, shined up and told us how to figure out all the bells and whistles that we were not accustomed to. I planned on buying a Camry, Accord or Sonata only to find out that the Fusion was a much better choice. We felt we knew what we wanted upon arrival, and was not talked out of my objective. Marde was there for us within a couple minutes of arrival, and wanted to show us what they had. He is a very enthusiastic ford lover, and a very proud, and dedicated employee for Charles Gabus. We were very fortunate that he was the salesman that came to us that day. He explained the vehicle we chose in such a way that we understood how the vehicle ran. We are new to the SYNC system, and Marde helped pair my phone, and set some country channels for us. He explained what he was doing,as he went through that process. We also made a call to my 90yr old parents to help me understand the process of calling out. I do like the SYNC system services, and will probably keep that feature going. Marde returned to us after each step in the process of finance and delivery of our fusion. He stayed with his customer, and that made us feel more comfortable.As we drove away, Marde was there congratulating us and wishing us well! I had been dealing with a dealership for three weeks when looking for a newer car to get into but after much waiting for a response a friend referred me to Charles Gabus Ford so I went online, found the vehicle I wanted and filled out the application. Much to my surprise and negotiating skills (on Noah's part) I got approved for the vehicle I wanted the next day and due to some conflicts at home was able to drive it home two days from when I first submitted the application. Noah was great in all aspects of my experience. We'll be back to get my husband into another vehicle, hopefully soon!

We received excellent service from Kelly Cornish. We had called earlier on Saturday am and asked about the gold 2012 escape. We agreed on a time to meet. He was prompt and friendly. He had the escape pulled out of your inventory and sitting out front. He told us about the car and its features. Offering us a test drive he took our car for a drive. When we got back, he told us additional information that we had questions about. We agreed on the option of 0% financing with additional discounts on the 2012 model. We traded in our car. We expected we would have to come back for it on Monday, but Kelly said it could be ready in a couple hours, which was helpful since we live 75 miles away.Car was ready as promised and the gentleman, I don't remember his name, as very helpful with explaining warranty, features including no gas cap, and especially the radio. After the last dealer I bought a car from I was a little hesitant on buying another car from a dealership. I decided to look for a used car for my wife and she was wanting a Focus, so I found one that she and I both liked and after talking with Noah and running the numbers it actually came out cheaper to upgrade our current car with a 2010 Focus from Gabus Ford. We gave Noah all the information over the phone and he took care of the rest, so all we had to do is test drive it, sign the papers, and drive our new car home. This is by far the best car buying experience I have ever had hands down, and I will definitely go back to buy another car and would highly recommend Gabus Ford t anyone!!

Larry was very nice, helpful, and courteous. I think I lucked out by having him to work with. I have found that some salesmen do not work well with older ladies and are prone to try to manipulate them. I do not take well to manipulation. The problems I voiced were taken care of. The features of the car were explained and further help was offered if needed. The whole experience was very pleasant.

The experience was fine. I don't enjoy the process of negotiating price/trade at any time, no matter the brand or the dealership, but Napoleon and the staff did a great job of taking care of the rest of the buying experience for me. The staff bent over backwards at the closing and delivery. Napoleon even drove downtown to meet with my wife to get her signature saving her a trip and they had the car ready to deliver early to me. Super job.

I had a very good experience at Charles Gabus Ford when I bought my 2012 Fusion. On my first visit, I was introduced to Steve Bunce. Steve let me take a test drive, and we had a very nice discussion about the the Taurus, the Focus, the Fusion, and the Fusion's competitors. Steve developed an understanding of the type of vehicle I was searching for and the price range I wanted. He provided some good insight and some advice on purchasing a new or used vehicle. Probably what I appreciated most was that Steve learned my name and called my by name, but he never requested any contact information. This s Steve had a lot of confidence in the Fusion over its competitors, but I felt that helping me make an informed decision was more important to him than selling me a car that would not make me happy. He invested an hour or so of his time with me with no guarantee that he would see me again. I appreciated the "soft sell" approach and Steve seemed really confident that the Fusion was the right car for me and that I would be back. He did supply me with his card so I could contact him if I wanted to.Interestingly enough, when I finally did sort out what I wanted to do, I was leaving town and was not able to visit the dealership to close the deal. I called Steve; he remembered the car I liked, and we discussed pricing, incentives, and financing over the phone. I was relieved that 'my" car was still there and that I was able to secure it without meeting face to face or providing a signature. I visited with the finance representative over the phone later that afternoon (it was a Saturday), and I picked up my new Fusion on Monday morning. I invested a lot of time researching the car I wanted. Gabus Ford made it really easy to get the car for me into my possession at a price I could afford. I especially appreciated the trust and respect the Charles Gabus representatives showed me throughout the inquiry and subsequent transaction. Steve helped me over the phone and when I finally got there everything was set up for me to walk in and sign paperwork. After weeks of car shopping and dealing with a variety of sales people Charles Gabus, specifically Dick "Woggy" Wohlgamuth, won me over with his no pressure sales approach - I never once felt hounded or pressured after going to look at a car on their lot. They were willing to deal with me on the car I wanted (no messing around) and I walked away feeling good about my whole experience there. From sales to finance to the guy that "delivered" my car - I would not hesitate to deal with them in the future - and definitely would recommend them, especially Woggy, to my friends!

We had done a lot of research prior to arriving at Charles Gabus and knew that we wanted a 2012 Ford Escape. We just needed to test drive the vehicle we had seen on the internet to confirm our decision! Because of our schedule we were unable to get to Charles Gabus at any other time but wanted to take advantage of the great rebates being offered for only a few more days. We arrived at the dealership after 5:00 p.m. on Friday (they close at 6:00). Everyone was great, they didn't make us feel bad that they had to stay late to close the deal. Steve Sanders was good to work with as was Gary McKinney in Finance and Josh Christensen. We drove away around 7:00 p.m. and are very happy with our purchase and Charles Gabus! We took the Escape to Chicago the next morning and already got over 26 mpg!

I was impressed with JP Richardson on the day of delivery. He made the transition easy. He was immediately ready to assist us with a concern with the vehicle. I was surprised that the process of purchasing the vehicle was as fast and easy. The purchase of the extra services, although necessary when purchasing a vehicle with milage from the dealership, made the car cost return to sticker price. I was hesitant to continue the purchase, if the service promised is provided, that should ease the concern. I am hoping that the service promised is provided, as the service provided so far has been positive.

Go somewhere else unless you want to be taken advantage of. I came in to LOOK at the 2011/12 Ford Flex Ecoboosts. Before I went in, I did a lot of research on the pricing, incentives and options available. I came in mid afternoon on a Saturday with my wife and 3 month old son. I was originally told I could drive both the standard 3.5 V-6 then compare it to the 3.5 Ecoboost. That was not the case. I drove the 3.5 Limited then was taken straight back to Steve's office to talk pricing. While they gave me a great price on the Flex, they offered me salvage value on my 2004 Lariat Supercrew (excellent shape with 85,000 miles, no accidents). This was done with the generic salesman method: write some numbers on a sheet of paper, disappear for a while, then come back with more numbers. When they "looked" over my pickup, it took them a solid 30 minutes, probably longer. At this point, we were at the dealership for around two hours (remember I have an infant with me, which obviously meant nothing to them). When I finally got the keys back to my pickup, Steve informed me he had to leave. The person I have been dealing with the 2+ hours was taking off, nice! Now, I understand that it was getting later in the day on the weekend, but come on! He introduced me to another salesman, and took off. This is where they informed me that my pickup was worth nothing. They also informed me that it had transmission problems too. I asked what the specific problem was with the transmission, and the salesman told me he didn't do the test drive and the person who did already left. Nice move! I would like to think of myself as mechanically inclined, having restored 2 jeeps and 1 Ford F-100. So, if the pickup had transmission problems, I think I would know! They then asked me what I was wanting to get out of it. When I told him my price, he looked at me like I was crazy. I told him that my pricing was from Kelly Bluebook (I was asking for trade in value, not retail). He "enlightened" me to the fact that Kelly Bluebook is an inaccurate method for pricing cars. If that is the case, then why do other dealers (even Ebay Motors) use it??? This is where we decided to call it quits. There was NO effort on their part. I also noticed that they had a comparable pickup to mine on their lot that and they were asking close to $30k for it (which is over three times the price they offered me!).In summation, save yourself the hassle and frustration, there are much better Ford dealers within 15 minutes of Gabus! We ended up in Ankeny and were treated with respect!

Looking for a new or used vehicle? LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE! My wife and I were recently looking for a car to replace our truck as I had separated from the military and we have a newborn. We went to Charles Gabus Ford to test drive the new Focus as it had a high MPG EPA rating. We had found a vehicle on the used lot that we liked more however. When we inquired about a negotiating a price, the salesperson came back with a price and even wrote it down for us, saying that it was good for 24 hours. When we returned that evening to have them appraise the truck for a trade in value they told us the price quoted earlier was no longer good as the manager allegedly "never told the salesperson that price." We decided to sleep on it and come back the next morning.When I returned, the salesperson took me straight to the manager to see if perhaps we could talk it out at which point the manager, John O'Donnell, began yelling at me in front of his employees, claiming that he didn't care what the salesperson told me.I attempted to contact the president of the company, Gene Gabus, but he was on a business trip so I left a voicemail. I never heard back from him so I decided to follow up directly about two weeks later. He was very brief (as is expected from the president of a large organization) however he told me "You and him had a disagreement. I'm used to it." To which I replied, "Sir, he embarrassed me in front of your employees". "He responded with "He didn't think he did" and ended the call with that. My wife and I have since shopped elsewhere and when retelling the story to other dealers, John O'Donnell apparently seems to have a reputation as nothing less than what I encountered with him.Looking for a good car, Ford may be the right choice for you. However, there's another dealer in Ankeny right down the road that will actually treat you with some semblance of dignity.

We were able to find exactly the car we wanted: color, options, etc. It was a good experience and we were able to trade. The Edge was displayed in an outstanding manner. This is really a nice vehicle. All of the reps for this company are sevice oriented which is a bonus for this dealership. The trade in was excellent so I could not pass it up. In fact, I did not come in to buy-just looking. I told my wife this was an excellent deal. So guess what, we walked away with a great buy!! I was in an accident that was not my fault and the other party involved had Progressive Ins. and they have a setup at Gabus so I decided to use Gabus to do the repairs. After leaving my truck there for a few days they called to say that it was done. So I went in and signed the papers and they pulled up and handed me my keys, I then walk outside to see that they had not replaced the chrome at the bottom of my truck. I walk back inside and mention it and they all look at me dumbfounded and I had to show them where the chrome was missing. They then slip into the back to figure it out and reappear saying that it had in fact been ordered and it would be a few days till it was there and that I was kinda lucky because they had to order a whole new set so I was going to get ALL NEW CHROME, I said "OK, I just wish someone had told me this prior so I didn't assume you were trying to pull one over on me." And I left. Two days later I am pulled over because the my tail lights were out. ON THE CORNER THEY HAD BEEN WORKING ON. So I promptly take it back to them and sure enough they FORGOT to hook them up. I asked them if my chrome was in yet and they said it would still be a few days. TWO WEEKS LATER, I CALL THEM and ask about it. They say yes it is in (BUT NO ONE HAD CALLED TO TELL ME). So again I take it back and they take it back and begin working, then pull it up out front and say it's DONE (again). I then notice that only the one piece of chrome had been replaced and bring it to their attention, they said they wouldn't put the rest of the chrome on because the stuff on it already still looked good, and I say "but I was told they would do it all since you had to order it". T^he man gives me the rest of the chrome but won't install it so it is sitting in the back of my truck now. I WILL RECOMMEND TO ANYONE I KNOW OR MEET TO AVOID THIS BUSINESS. There are plenty of bodyshops within 1 mile of here that will probably not give you this kind of runaround. And as far as a car dealership goes, if their bodyshop is any indication, stay away they're gonna try to screw ya

I am a 70 year old woman and have never purchased a car on my own before. I was very apprehensive about doing do. The pastor of my church bought a new Fusion and was very happy with Mr. Fesler at Charles Gabus Ford and gave me his name. So I made an appointment with Mr. Fesler who was very patient and kind and answered all my questions without making me feel ignorant. And he gave me time to make decisions with no pressure. In addition, the person who handled the financial aspect was great as was the man who helped me to get acquainted with the car. Upon visiting the service area, those people were kind also.All of the above reasons are factors in why I gave great ratings on all of the above questions. I would highly recommend this dealership.Another factor which made Charles Gabus Ford attractive to me was the fact that oil changes are free for the life of the car. And that means a lot to me.****** I could find the names of all the people who helped me if I looked in my paperwork.

When I was looking to purchase a new car I stopped at Charles Gabus to look at their pricing and vehicle inventory. I walked around the parking lot for around 30 minutes looking at cars and actually walked through a group of sales people standing in a group talking. After looking at a few more cars, I walked back towards the sales people who begin to split up from their group. Several walked into the building and began looking out the windows for potential customers. I never even received as much hello from any of them. I purchased a car from them in 2005 and it was a pretty decent experience. However, after a previous unfavorable experience with them in 2008 and now with this latest episode, I will never even waste my gas to drive to their dealership. I'm not sure who is in charge now that Charles Gabus is gone, but I was not impressed.

I had purchased a 2009 Fusion from Napoleon sometime around November of 2008. I had a great experience with him and Charles Gabus that time; however, I just returned there in March of 2011 looking to see what 2011 Edges they had. I went inside and asked for Napoleon and the front desk person stated he would be right up. Well, it was more like 15 minutes before he came up. I stated what I was interested in and he did show me what they had. We went and test drove the car, but anytime I had a question, he was very cold and really didnt want to answer my questions. At first I didnt think anything of it. We then went down to his office to see what kind of deal we could come to and this is where his true colors showed through!! He asked me what I was looking for in payments and I told him, then he asked to go look at my Fusion. When he came back, he wrote some info down and went out of the office. When he came back, he slapped down a sheet of paper and said, "This is what we can get your payments at, plus or minus." I asked what do you mean by "plus or minus"? He just glared at me and proceeded to tell me it would depend. Well, I was a little confused and shocked that he was acting like this!! Then he received a personal phone call while working with me and then all of a sudden a deacon from his church shows up and also proceeded to glare at me for over 15-20 minutes. Napoleon just kept coming up with reasons and excuses as to why they couldn't give me more for my trade and why they couldn't lower the payment. After becoming frustrated and completely uncomfortable, I proceeded to leave! I have contacted Ford about him and Charles Gabus and how they really like to "treat" people. Like the other people on here have posted...Gabus draws you in with their #1 Ford Dealer in Iowa, price and selection crap, but once you buy from them, they dont want anything to do with you. As I stated earlier, my first experience was great, so I wanted to give them my business again, but after this, I will NEVER go to Gabus again!!!! BE AWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I really appreciate Pat's straight forward approach - no games, just tells it like it is. I think it took us all of about 10 minutes to reach a deal. When I pulled into department I was immediately greated by a service advisor. He opened the door and helped me out of the car, thouroughly checked tire pressure, tire wear, advised me I needed a tire rotation and proceeded to take my car for the oil change. The car came back washed and perfectly clean inside too.

We first looked at a 2010 Chevy Impala, and requested information about it online. When we went to go look at it, we had already done the research and had determined how much we were able to spend. I was prepared to argue our salesperson on what we could afford. Instead, he was prepared with options within our price range, and asked us questions as to what types of cars we would be comfortable looking at. He was polite, friendly and most importantly he was sincere. Although we did not buy the 2010 Chevy Impala, due to his help in offering alternatives, we were able to buy a car I had been wanting for many years, but did not think I would be able to afford. The vehicle itself was in outstanding condition, and after researching it on Kelly Blue Book, I found that it was reasonably priced and I was happy with the price at which we paid. It also fit into the budget we had already set. After choosing the vehicle we were notified within an hour and a half that I was approved. When I went to sign the papers, our sales person took the time to greet us, although he was busy with another guest. The finance manager who assisted me with signing the papers was polite, and encouraged me to ask any questions I could think of. I had also brought along my nine year old son, and he took the time to talk to him about his favorite subject, Star Wars. The gentleman who took us to the vehicle was friendly and very helpful. He also offered to take a picture of me and my son with our new car, which thrilled my son. After I brought our car home, I still received emails thanking me and giving best wishes with the car. My overall experiance was one of mutual respect and gratitude. I have already been spreading the word about the wonderful experiance we had, and will not buy a vehicle from anyone else from now on.

I Have Given The Following Ratings Based On My Recent New Truck Purchase. The Staff At Charles Gabus Ford Always Contacted Me As Soon As Possible With Questions Or To Get Me The Answers I Needed. Upon Arrive To Check Out My New Truck It Was Parked Out Front And All Cleaned Up Inside And Out. Steve And The Finance Department Always Very Nice To Talk To On The Phone And Gave Me All The Information I Needed Or What I Needed To Have To Make A Smooth Transaction. The Price Of The Vechile Was Just Right For All The Features That It Had And Was Just Right For My Budget. We purchased our new Taurus through USAA and Gabus Ford was the dealer we selected. Their responsiveness could not have been better. Noah Wolter responded quickly as USAA said they would and was extremely helpful throughout the purchase process. Even though we had only corresponded via phone and email, Noah was extremely courteous when we picked up the car in Des Moines. He was very helpful in setting up our MySync account and explaining many of its and the car's features. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and we do truly enjoy our new Ford Taurus. I grew up in a family that was partial to Ford products and have owned a few myself. I even worked for Ford at two different times. Since 1984, I have been an owner of Honda vehicles, but I am glad that we have returned to ownership of the American built Ford Taurus!

Steve Sanders is an excellent salesman. He was patient with me in making the decision to purchase a new vehicle. He is very knowledgeable about the dealer's inventory, financing options, and when I purchased the car, he was very skillful showing me how to use the systems.

Everything went well when we came to check out buying our new car. The back up sensors and the remote start were installed as promised. The only bad thing that happened, was my fault. As I left to go home after the above work was done, I ran over a curb. My "Low tire pressure" lite came on immediately. I came back and went into the showroom. I explained what had happened to one of the gentlemen there and he immediately went out and looked at the tire. He called the shop foreman, who looked at the tire, it was ruined. The service dept. got the car in immediately, checked around for a tire. There were none in the shop, in the end, they took another one off another car. Everyone treated me wonderful! They could tell how upset I was and they really tried to make me feel better. They did not charge me any labor, just the cost of the tire. It made a very bad situation, much better to handle. I salute your service department, they were great!

This is the third truck I've purchased from the dealership and the second from Noah Wolter. I am never pressured and feel like it's a friendly transaction. My questions are answered and feel confident in my decisions. I do my homework before and feel like I am going in eyes open and am met with good answers and follow-up questions to make my decision.

From the time that I went on line to apply for information, Noah worked very closely with me to see the vehicles I was interested with, and make sure they wre ready for a test drive when my wife and I got to the dealership. I never felt pressured to make a decision, and felt like I received a fair value on my trade in vehicle. I also want to see that the person in Financing was very pleasant and easy to work with as well, although I do not remember his name at this time. We have purchased several vehicles through Charles Gabus over the years, and I have never been less than satisfied with the vehicles or the sales staff. Keep up the good work, and I will continue to pass on solid comments to family and friends.

I came in for a brake job - the work was done quickly, the staff was very friendly, the bill came back $20 less than the coupon offer. Very pleased with everything. Robert is who I brought my car to...I also came in for tires a few months ago and also dealt with Robert. He is very pleasant and easy to work with and was very honest on what needed done right away and what could wait.

Initially, we only stopped in to look at trucks and the sales prices caught our eye. We then tried to find a sales person (something that never seems to be a problem when you are just looking) we couldn't get one to help us. We actually walked right through a group of 5-6 of them and they didn't even look at us. Finally we went inside, and Steve came up and asked if we'd been helped by anyone.Steve was a great help and we ended up buying a new truck that day.

I really liked the customer service at Charles Gabus. Unfortunately, I was not able to buy the car yet because I needed a cosigner. However, I am going back in a week and am really looking forward to the great customer service. They are very friendly and do just about anything to help you get the car you are looking for.

Very satisfied with the selection of Ford Escapes on the lot. We felt were treated fairly and my Escape is what I was shopping for. I do wish I lived closer, we are 2 hours away. I may add the remote start feature in the near future. Thanks to Les!

My girlfriend and I searched high and low for a Lincoln MKX after a few bad expierences at other local dealerships we found a lincoln at Gabus Ford and got hooked up with a sales rep named Dave he was very sincere and helpful as we narrowed our selection down to 2 vehicles on at a local dealership and one in Des Moines. We live in St Paul MN and Des Moines was a min 4 hour drive. After being very impressed with Daves ability to make us feel comfortable and confident on the purchase we bought Gabus' Ford Vehichle and soon scheduled a date to drive down to pick it up. We arrived down to Des Moines as planned and was surprised on how unorganized the dealership staff was! The gentleman in the fianance department could barely sell us the exteneded warranty, Had my Fiances last name spelled incorrectly on all the paperwork and forgot to collect our down payment as we walked away with the keys. We had to walk back to ask them if they wanted the money which they gladly accepted every last dollar! We got a paper transit pass in the back window as we made the four hour trip back to the twin cities. We waited and waited for checks to arrive in the mail so we could take them into the DMV to get MN plates put on the vehicle. Never came! Called down to Gabus several times and could never get a straight answer nor a return call. They finnally overnighted the payments to the DMV and to no surprise to us the DMV called and said the the checks were 207 dollars short. We were promised that the title transfer check could be anywhere from 3-7 dollars short not 207! They made us sign a agreement that if it wasnt the right amount that we would cover it, 3-7 dollars no problem. It was a clear cut scam. I than made several attempts to contact someone in the organization to see when they were going to mail the remaining balance owed to get plates on vehicle. Their answer was its not our fault someone told us the wrong amount and now you must pay outta pocket. They laughed at the idea of making the situation right and following thru with the sale. John O'donnel (Used car manager) made it clear that it was ludacris for me to ask for them to take care of this clerical error. So maybe it was the states fault and not the dealership but the fact that i just gave them $10,000 down payment every last penny in our account for a down payment and bought a 30,000 dollar vehicle from them they still felt no need to make right on clerical mistake, they also found it humorous at the idea of double checking the figures provided by the state in the week they had to get this whole sale together before we arrived to buy it! Not only would am i completely disgusted with manners and lack of accountibility Charles Gabus Ford displayed but the pure embarassment I have for actually driving down there and giving them our hard and long earned money. As the other reviews state CHARLES GABUS FORD IS NO PLACE TO DO BUSINESS! I hope that this review educates anyone thinking about doing business with "#1 IOWA Ford dealership". They obviously could care a less about lifetime customer or word of mouth referrals. If you want to drop all your cash and be left to see whats left when the dust settles than look no further Gabus Ford is your kinda dealership if your seeking a fair honest expierence and the comfort of knowing you have a shoulder to lean on if times get tough than look elsewhere.

Pat is just one of the salesmen I have tried "tried to GIVE MY BUSINESS to over the years at Gabus Ford. I have tried to work with Charles Gabus Ford since 1992 when I brought a Ford Bronco in to have a lower main seal replaced. They did however by the time I arrived home the seal was bad again and I was without oil in the truck. I called the service advisor and was told "too bad there is no warranty". I considered this an unacceptable answer and got in my wife's car to talk with the manager. He told me "I am going to stand by my service advisor, you are not getting your money back and we are done with you get out of my dealership". I put a stop to the $800 charge on my credit card and took the vehicle to another Ford dealership and was told that while the seal was replaced the main bearings were bad and had to be replaced before the seal would seal. Most of the cost in this is in the labor. I had the entire job done right for $900 and never had another problem with that repair. I have stopped back over the years to look at new vehicles because of Gabus' selection and pricing. Because of the sales men's don't mess with me attitude they have never sold me a new or used vehicle even though they almost always have first chance and I buy on average every two years. Since 1996 I have owned 3 Ford F150 lariats, 1 F150 XLT, 1 Sable, 1 Honda and 2 Nissans. Mpral to the story is treat people badly and you have to keep enticing new people with price but they will almost always be one time customers because of the mentality of your employees. By the way I have never had another vehicle in there service bay and I did get my money back from them.

I went in to buy a 20,000 dollar car I asked for three hundred more on trade and they tried to make the payment a hundred dollars more a month. I will still buy a car just not at this dealership. I do not think they were very serious about a sale.they more or less wanted my trade for nothing.

My vehicle broke down on the interstate as I was passing through the area. I had it towed to the nearest Ford Dealership which was Gabus. It became apparent Gabus Ford Service people weren't interested in helping someone who had purchased the vehicle at another dealership. In fact the service manager told me he gave priority to those who had purchased their vehicle from Gabus, and he didn't care if I took my truck somewhere else for service. So I contacted another dealership and had it towed a second time.

I hate shopping for a vehicle. I went to Charles Gabus Ford. Upon arriving at the dealership I was approached by Jeff Turner a sales consultant at Charles Gabus Ford. He was very interested in helping me find the car that was right for me. I found a car but next came the negotiating not the funnest part of car buying. Jeff made it easy and I got a great deal. I even got free oil changes for life. Two hours after arriving at the dealership I was driving my new car home from Charles Gabus Ford. I would highly recommend them and will definately go there for my next vehicle.
