I had a very nice experience at Clay Subaru buying our '18 Outback. Amanda was a very good salesperson. She made sure she was available at all times and answered all my questions right away. She was very knowledgeable and courteous. We had a few glitches with the registration and they went above and beyond to help me get the car registered in a timely fashion. I was impressed with Clay Subaru and Amanda. Great job.

Will at Clay Subaru was by far the absolute best car salesman I have ever experienced! He was energetic but not overwhelming or pushy. His empathy and ability to listen was outstanding! I enjoyed the experience so much that I even shared his contact information with a friend of mine who is considering buying a new vehicle. I am extremely pleased with my experience with not only Will but the financing specialist. I felt like I mattered and what I wanted/needed mattered! Thank you!!!

EDIT: In my previous review, they had lost my keys and handled it very unprofessionally. After reaching out the manager, Oscar and Edwin went above and beyond to makes things right. I'm very pleased.

I have been using Clay Subaru for the past 2.5 years and have been completely satisfied! Today we traded in our 2011 Legacy for a 2014 Legacy and are extremely happy with the hard work that Joey put in to help us trade our car in! He always goes above and beyond to help my family and I out. We have bought 3 cars through Joey and hope to be buying another car within the year! Thank you Joey and Joe for making us feel like family and helping us out! We will make sure to spread the word and send more of our friends and family your way!

First of all I'm a recent graduate with my Masters to pursue my dream to be a teacher and it hasn't happened due to the 4 big tests I haven't passed. So my loans are very high and my credit is very low. But with the help from my Miracle Worker Joey Allain. He was my financial advisor through the whole process and he was very quick and thorough. He meant his word and followed through and I can't express how elated I am with my new certified used Subaru 2012 Forester. I was able to get a low APR and 2 years of Maintenance and 7 years of Warranty!!! My Sales representative Danny who was so kind and helpful in the process as well. He was also willing to come out on his day off to help me into my new vehicle!!! I'm beyond satisfied with my wonderful experience I've been telling all my friends about it!

Harvey Rain was very helpful. We were there today because we had some questions about some of the functions of the car. He was immediately available to help us and answered our questions.

The purpose of my visit was to have the infamous air bags replaced on my 9 year old Subaru. I had no intention of buying a new car, as I was happy with the reliability of the old one. Harvey Rain did a good job in convincing me of the advantages of this new improved vehicle.

Was not looking forward to buying a new car, it is such a hassle. Mr Rain made it easy. He gives Car salesman a good name. Rare in this line of work.

Was quoted two different prices, then when I received my bill it was yet another price, hundreds of dollars higher than I was originally quoted!! When I called back to dispute my bill, (because I had not picked up the vehicle someone else did) I was put hold while getting Nikki then she had supposedly left for the day even though it was only 4pm and her manager had also then left for the day, I was told. There was no one I could speak to and I was hung up on!!

I went in with my checkbook to buy a new car. They did not have a car at their own advertised price - not even close and there was no explanation. I imagine this is typical of most dealers, but it undermines their credibility.

I had a GREAT experience at Clay Subaru! Guiseppe made buying my car painless!!! Between him and Patrick I couldn't have asked for a better sales team. They found a way to get the type of car I wanted and within my monthly payment I wanted. I will never buy a car from anyone else and will be sending anyone I know looking Guiseppe's way! Also, going in for service is no longer a burden and is an enjoyable experience because of Nikki, she is ALWAYS honest on what is needed and I do not feel pressured into services.

Bill was a doll! Came in after our 2010 Outback was master-blasted while parked on the street by a kid driving a full-size pickup. We rushed in just before close on a Saturday to see a slightly newer off-lease model, and he was more than happy to help. Took time with us and did not press us into a buy decision on-the-spot. We came back a week later and closed on a slightly nicer, lower mileage offering.Very courteous, straightforward about where he could/couldn't wiggle, understood that we knew the product and was very knowledgeable about informing us on feature/design updates. We are very likely to come back when in a few years when the wheels fall off this purchase or our hybrid compact 2nd car.

Just bought a new Forester from this awesome dealership. We had the pleasure of working with Harvey Rain in Sales and Brian in Finance, and both of them were straightforward and friendly, with ABSOLUTELY NO HARD-SELL TACTICS. We have had shockingly bad experiences buying cars in the past, enough to make us dread the whole experience, and so we were apprehensive when we arrived. But Harvey quickly put us at our ease, and I can honestly say that the entire buying experience was a pleasure. Seriously. Some dealerships make you wait around for hours when buying a car - that was not the case at Clay Subaru. The staff are efficient and knowledgeable and appreciate that a customer's time is valuable.

I had a great time driving a bunch of Subarus around with Harvey this past week. It was hard for me to travel to Norwood without a car, and Harvey even helped me out by picking me up at the nearest train station. I also had a lot of help from Patrick in sales and Brian in the finance, who were both very nice. Overall, I had a great experience and am especially happy about how smoothly everything went and, of course, in my choice of car.

I had a great experience at Clay Subaru. I bought a 2016 Subaru Legacy. Although they did not have the color on the lot, they were able to get the car I wanted from another dealership. Every person I interacted with was nice! I would go here again!

I worked with Bill in Sales and Brian in the finance department. Bill was extremely helpful right from the start. He was straightforward and went out of his way to help arrange the licensing and registration of the car in Connecticut. He even arranged to have the car dropped off in CT for me, which is extremely generous of him and the dealership. Brian had all the paperwork lined up and ready to go and was able to help me understand all the key parts of the deal. Both really great guys and very good at what they do!

Not only was their prices the best the experience was actually pleasant. From Katherine, to Harvey my sales representative and Brian the finance guy, they were all a pleasure to deal with. The experience was akin to dealing with a small home town dealership as opposed to a big chain.I recommend them highly. If you want a Subaru Clay is the place.

My name is Lynne Spencer I had the Honor and a Pleasure of coming to your dealership last week I was standing in the back parking lot looking at cars and I noticed a gentleman standing there not bothering anybody not hovering over us so I approached him I did not know that he was one of your salesman anyways Mr David Lombardi let me take the car for a test drive and my husband and I decided that we would get something else in lieu of this Mr.Lombardi was very patient very kind extremely knowledgeable and I enjoyed speaking with him. He took the time and the care to take me into the vehicle I was about to purchase and went over every detail of the car every button every crevice everything about the schematics. And where it was located.for my reading up on the car.He was so knowledgeable I was taken back by this. His patience and his kindness.I've been shopping for a car for a month he is THE first salesman in my life that I have ever come across that has taken that much time and patience with me in regards to purchasing a new vehicle I'm so grateful for all that he showed me in using and driving my new car.I don't know how you rate your employees But on a scale from 1 to 100 he gets 100 from me he was outstanding!!!? other salesmen should learn from this gentleman. His patience alone IT was huge. You shouldn't hover over people and make them feel pressured into purchasing something. Sometimes you just like to look walk around and in doing so I was able to approach him and he was more than helpful more than knowledgeable and again the word kind and patience come to my mind David Lombardi Thank You so very much I know more about my car than I thought I could ever possibly know. I love it so much you're a great person you deserve some sort of recognition if I could give you an award I would but if I can't I ask somebody there to please give you a gold star for your forehead thank you again

I had a great experience at Clay Subaru! I worked almost entirely with the Finance manager from a 3rd party website. My vehicle had died about 2 weeks before Christmas. I was about to lose my 2 jobs with most of my family living out of state. Joey worked tirelessly not only to get me approved(I have very limited credit and made some mistakes) but more importantly to find me a car that I liked also. I didn't want to pay a car payment every month for a car I didn't like. 2 other dealerships could not help me. Everything went smoothly and they treated me like I was buying a $100,000 car. I showed up at 9am and drove away with new plates & registration by 10:30am 2 days before Christmas! I was not getting calls back from other places and was really scared and vulnerable. My payment ended up being lower than expected and I love my new car!

I dealt with two employees here, one was a Amanda, a salesperson, and the other was Brian, who I believe is a finance manager. Neither of them are listed here. Amanda was very nice and let me test drive the car much longer than her usual test drive route (Subaru Impreza Wagon 5spd manual) because I wanted to take it on the highway. Unfortunately the price was too high for me and the experience was ruined when Brian came over to try to negotiate. Now perhaps this is just me, but I am not used to being spoken to in the tone of an angry parent chastizing a child, and no matter the situation it is extremely un-professional to speak to customers in the cold, un-yielding manner that Brian chose. Thanks but no thanks, Clay Subaru, I doubt I will be back.

I probably only spent fifteen minutes on their lot, which was more than enough. The salesman was in my face almost before I got out of my car, and as I was looking over the car I had come to see, he told me things that were quite obviously untrue, such as that the car had all new tires, when clearly only two had been replaced. He also told me that the paint chips all over the hood weren't paint chips, but tree sap (??). I think because I'm female he was expecting a certain level of gullibility but I'm not a fool, and I did not appreciate being treated like one. Needless to say I did not take the car and I won't be back.

I walked in coming from another dealership that sold the car I was looking at as I was sitting with the salesman. They had a car on Cars.com that was essentially the same as the one I was looking at elsewhere. When I came in, Vince had mentioned the car was gone! I was fine with just looking around more...but as I was walking out he said "Hey, Buddy!". I walked back over and he mentioned it was being transported to an auction house. Vince offered to get it back and match the other deals!!! Fast foward to today- I'm sitting in a lunch place down the street waiting on my registration paperwork to be all set. I got an amazing rate with a great warranty and a great car.Thank you guys! Big shoutout to their finance guy, Will, and Vince for an awesome process!

We were not harassed at all and readily allowed to look about the lot and test drive those vehicles we had interest in while having all our questions readily answered. The salesman, Harvey Rain, was courteous & well informed about all the vehicles in inventory & ordering options. He held true to his word in terms of contacting us on our availability & timeline. He ensured our buying experience was a positive one.

Harvey and JD were extremely polite and helpful during my car by experience there. This was my first time buying a vehicle and they made it as comfortable and easy as possible. They answered all my questions and were very patient with me I felt more than just money walking in and out, I felt treated like a person. However the sales manager, who unfortunately I never got his name, was extremely rude. He gave off this vibe as though he was doing me a favor by being there. I'm sorry sir but selling cars is your job...you're not doing me any favors. The car I got ended up having a couple things that needed to be fixed, things that a used car shouldn't have when out on the sales floor, likely a broken headlight for instance. It was being held together by glue and staples, yeah real safe. The sales manager gave attitude when I said I wanted it fixed. "Its a used car what do you expect?" he said. Lucky for me the USED car sales manager overheard everything and spoke to me and apologized. He fixed the headlight and then some and when I went to go pick it up a few days later it looked great. Overall I was happy with my service. Harvey is a great guy and I had a fun time buying this car from him. I think he was proud that he sold me my first car and I really hope he was. JD was also great to talk to. He explained everything, made sure I understood and he got me a great deal on the warranty of my vehicle. These 2 men and the used car sales manager are awesome and I want to thank you all again for a good experience.

We had an awesome time with Clay Subaru. We met with other dealers (Prime Group) earlier that day, and had a very traditional dealership experience. Clay was different, and Andre was great. Very customer focused and really no pressure; they were up front about everything before we even looked at cars. No sudden "oh the one you drove actually wasn't the trim level we told you" like with the other guys. Total honesty and willingness to make a deal that worked for us. We got a great deal and feel like winners coming out with exactly the car we wanted, instead of feeling like we got something we didn't at more than we wanted to pay.

We worked with Jenny Norton on our new car purchase from Clay. She was excellent and made the process easy for us. Never did I feel pressured to look at something we did not need or out of our budget. Jenny really 'got' us and that made the process so much easier on us. Everyone else at Clay was great too; JD did a great job explaining the details of it as well. I never like going to car dealerships as there is a certain stereotype of pushy salesmen, but I did not feel that way at Clay and would happily give them my business in the future!

I worked with Michael Brooks and Allison Lejeune. They were very helpful, accommodating, and easy to work with, from start to finish, including post-sale. Michael went out of his way, after the sale was secure, to help me figure out the best way to cancel my out-of-state registration, and get rid of my old car, and to accommodate my schedule. The price I paid was the best I found, after quite a lot of "shopping around." There were no unexpected fees added late in the process -- the out-the-door price was what they said it would be from the start. I was impressed.

Bought a sweet car here, not a Subaru. Nice cars for sure - they are looking for any angle to get any nickel out of you. Its a car dealership - duh. The sales guy du jour agreed to a firm final price. Papers drawn up with 500 in surpluferous charges, which disappeared quickly when I balked. The fine folks in finance insisted they'd have no issue with not only matching my AAA financing, that they could beat it. So, I let them shop the loan. They couldn't beat my financing, though did do harm to my credit score in a huge way as it's impacting my ability to get best rates for my daughter's student loan. If you are good with numbers, and a good negotiator go to it. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEIR SUPER SCAMMY FINANCE PEOPLE.

Service dept not willing to fix the problem with wheel balancing issue. Brand new car and vibrates at highway speeds above 65 mph. They cant duplicate it because the tech cant drive over speed limit. But the sales guy has no issue driving over when test driving the car. So for you potential Subaru shoppers - keep this in mind. Find another car and dealership

I bought my first car with Clay Subaru and my experience with them was excellent. Before visiting Clay Subaru, I've been to other dealerships, some are Subaru's, some are other manufacturers'. One thing I've noticed is that very often the salespersons treated you like you have no clue what you want, hence they will find ways to 'educate' you, such as what car you would need, or what price you could afford. But this is the age of the internet. You can find reviews on different cars, and you can even find statistics on the sales price of any particular build of a car. There are tools to help calculate monthly payments too. When I arrived Clay Subaru I was immediately greeted by Dave Lombardi. Unlike many other salespersons, Dave was friendly and genuine. He was quick to set up a test drive for me, during which he further showed how knowledgeable and patient he was. Dave was honest with me during the negotiation process, but worked very hard to get me a good deal which I am most satisfied with. The business manager, JD Janes, was friendly and patient in explaining my finance options too. It took them one day to deliver my new Impreza. I am impressed by their efficiency given it was the year end and I saw a ton of customers on the day of delivery. Overall, I highly recommend this dealership. Look for Dave Lombardi and you will not regret.

As a first time car buyer, I had pretty amazing experience while purchasing my 2014 Impreza at Clay Subaru. From start to finish, my experience was a smooth success thanks to joint efforts made by Katherine, Vincent, Joey, and Peter. The team as a whole was very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. They were especially kind and accommodating to my individual needs and I could not have asked for a better group of people to help me through such an important process. I urge anyone to visit Clay Subaru for the best in quality cars and outstanding customer service. Lastly, I love my new Subaru!

We just purchased a 2010 Forester from Clay Subaru and were very impressed with the service we received. We found the listing on-line and were a bit hesitant to buy a used car from a dealership 2 hours away. Thankfully we had a very professional and knowledgeable salesman, Joe Rizzo. His attention to the one repair that was needed and any other concerns we had about the car, has made us feel very confident that choosing Clay Subaru was just right for us.

I set out to buy a used car for my daughter. We found a decent used car on the lot price was workable nice car over all low miles good condition etc. worked the deal with the salesman wasn't too painful for what I felt was a reasonable deal for the sale price. Customer service was nice everyone was friendly inside. It was a weekend and they only had one finance manager on duty so the wait to get into that office was extremely painful and long. Once inside was given every sales pitch by the finance dept on every available after market warrantee tire package and interior protection all at ridiculously high prices we declined them all after his long pitches just said we want the car only no add ons you could tell he was disappointed. We. Said a 5.00 can of scotch guard works fine on the interior vs their 599 protection package unreal. Signed got a low interest rate good payments was supposed to go get car in 2 days after getting ins. Policy. Went got ins policy went back to dealer different finance guy said other guy left signatures out of contract and we needed to resign again for car pain in the Bit he did rerun financing and get me a Lower payment again. Td to come back in a few hours to get car after they registered it and put plates and. Sticker on it. Three hours later they forgot to register it and get to prepped for delivery another 90 minute wait. Unreal the left does not know what the right is doing At this place. Of your patient and ok with a. Long wait and pushy finance guys sales pitches you might so ok here of not shop around and find a better more efficient dealership to give your money to. I won't be returning even for service.

I had a great car buying experience at Clay Subaru. I was shopping around for a new car for my son. He will be commuting to school in the fall and we wanted something safe and reliable. We decided on the outback. Our salesman was very informative and answered all of our questions. Patrick the sales general manager even came over an made sure we had all the information we needed and answered a few more of our questions. We ended up purchasing that day. The process was smooth and we walked feeling confident that we made a great decision. I recommended this place to a few of my friends and family members who are currently searching for a new vehicle also.

I worked with Mr. Norwood Morill who literally bent over backwards for me and my partner. He showed us every car and catered to our every needs. At one point he saw we were a little parched from heavy negotiations and came to our immediate aid with complimentary water. The price was $1021 exactly lower than Quirk and $1099 lower than Metrowest. We got a magical deal in the finance office from Joey A which included all off our service for the vehicle which is going to save us thousands. all and all QUICK EASY FRIENDLY AWWWSOMME

I leased a car from Peter Frain and I loved the fact that it was no pressure and the process was very straight forward. I went in looking for a car for my son and I was simply blown away looking at the 2015 Legacy. I left with a car for myself and I am happy I did. Thanks. Clay Subaru

I just bought a vehicle from Clay Subaru this week. Rich Zmudzien the GM and Joey the finance agent made my experience of purchasing my car so easy. I was treated with the most excellent customer care and service I have ever experienced purchasing a vehicle. I will make sure to tell anyone buying a car to contact Rich Zmudzien. They will never regret it. My sincere thanks to both Rich and Joey. This purchase beyond exceptional.

I took my mother shopping for a new car and figured the auto mile was the place to go. We stopped at about half a dozen dealerships before we pulled into Clay Subaru. The way we were treated at the other dealers had set both my mother and myself in a very hostile moods, so when we met our salesman Peter our defenses were high and we were rather rude to him. He was very nice through the whole process of showing us the variety of vehicles they sold, and before we knew it my mother who had been a nervous wreck throughout the whole shopping experience was laughing and joking right along with the salesman. My mother like the style of the Outback, and he showed her all the features, he didn't rush through the process like other salesman had. She was nervous to test drive it, so he took her on some back roads, and she got so comfortable behind the wheel she even drove it down route one. So then the hard part came. Trying to agree on a price. He took her trade information down, asked how long she intended to finance, and how much she was going to put down on the vehicle. He then went up to the desk and had them appraise my moms car. We were quite nervous and sure he was going to comeback with a bunch of twisted numbers and try and confuse us. Instead he came back with a computer printed sheet of paper, that showed the sticker price of the car, how much they discounted it, how much they gave for her trade, the taxes and fees, the final cost and it even had the payments printed on it. Everything was printed in easy to understand numbers, nothing was hidden and we had a choice of payment options. He explained everything, and gave us privacy so we could call my brother and discuss it with him. My brother felt we should get a little more for our trade, and Peter even talked with him on the phone explaining just how he arrived at that figure. With all of us satisfied we agreed to buy the Outback. We picked it up the next day, and Peter went over the whole car once again with my mom. I would recommend asking for Peter if you are in the market for a Subaru, and I would definitely go back to Clay Subaru. One more quick note, they have the best fresh baked cookies in the store we had a few oatmeal raisin, and chocolate chip that were to die for.

My father and I came to this dealership with only two requirements: 1.I could not go over my maximum price limit and 2. I needed 4 wheel drive. The salesman rushed us outside and started showing off cars way over my price limit, we kindly reminded him we have a strict price limit. So we continued on with him showing very fancy cars he thought I would "look nice in", yes the cars were amazing but I simply could not afford them. The salesman started to get irritated with us and stopped being the friendly salesman he was in the beginning. At this point I wanted to leave because it was a waiste of time looking at cars I could not get. Finally we came to a car that was a little more reasonable but still 1000$ over my asking price, before taxes. While my father was looking at it the salesman put his arm aroun me and started whispering to me, "the car will be in your name right? Don't worry about the price just get it, don't let your dad tell you what to do. You deserve this car" etc.. This really bothered me and kind of pissed me off. When my father came over saying we couldn't afford the car the salesman said fine, and stormed off. We ended up finding a wonderful car at Boch new to you, a honda crv exl 2007 for around 13,000, in only 15 minutes of being there. Even 3 months later I continue getting calls from Clay Subaru, even though I've told then I had found a car. I will never forget our unpleasant experience at Clay and was shocked out how we were treated.

No one looks forward to the experience of buying a new car. I am no different. But, the staff at Clay Subaru really surprised me. I came in looking to buy a used Subaru or possibly a new Impreza. Dave Lombardi was incredibly patient with me, helping me to test drive a number of different cars. He was candid with me about his opinions of the cars I drove, and while he obviously wanted to sell me a car, he wasn't pushy and he didn't rush me through the process. After deciding that a new Impreza was the best option for me, I met with Will Smith, the finance manager. Will was very friendly and professional. It was also clear that he knows his stuff. He walked me through my finance and warranty options. He listened to what was important to me and understood my priorities. I never felt like he was trying to force something on me that didn't make sense for me. He worked with Patrick to come up with a deal that met my needs. I will be using the car for my business, and they helped me select accessories that will really come in handy. Patrick was very helpful when it came to deciding how to structure my finance package. Overall, I have to say that this was the best car buying experience I have ever had. Thanks to Will, Dave and Patrick, I left Clay Subaru with an awesome car that I can afford! An added incentive to shop here: they offer amazing fresh baked cookies to customers!!!

I was searching for a vehicle online. I wanted a SUV but wasn't really sure what I really wanted. I worked with Dave, and he was very helpful with helping me figure out what car was reasonable, as far as gas mileage, space, and vehicle options (equipment). I test drove several different makes and models, and liked the Subaru the best. I knew nothing about Subaru. Every question I had about the vehicle, he could answer for me in great detail, it made me feel like I was really picking the right make and model. He wasn't pushy at all, he didn't try to make me buy something I didn't want.I met with Will after choosing my new vehicle. He is the finance manager. He helped me with a service plan, that I was very happy with and other additions I was interested in for the car. I have 2 kids and a black lab, and the luxcare protection was something I never heard about, but was happy I was offered it, so it would protect my new vehicle from dirt and other stuff my kids or dog will get on the interior. Rich the GM was great, and made the buying experience very pleasurable. Overall, my experience was good and I would recommend Clay Subaru to my friends and family.

Nothing special about this dealership. Went in for a 7500 mile checkup and inspection and they got me in and out in a few hours (I left it there, they could've done it sooner). Nothing special really, weren't exceptionally nice, just an easy drop off and pick up. Could do with a little more friendliness and making their customers feel welcome, but no specific complaints.

I had an awesome experience at clay subaru purchasing my new outback. My budget was really tight but somehow they found a way to make it work for me. I shopped two other Subaru dealerships before clay and found that Clay was the only one willing to bend and work with me on my budget. The Finance Manager Joey was wise beyond his years and really impressed me with his overall knowledge and savvy. very pleased!

We recently sold our car, and were looking for a used Subaru Impreza. My husband found one with mileage he liked and a reasonable price at Clay Subaru. We live in NH, about an hour and 40 minutes away from Norwood MA, so we called and spoke to Daynna about the vehicle. Out of the blue, with no communication from Daynna, we started receiving emails, phone calls, and text messages from Will Smith about the car. He wanted us to fill out the credit application, send pictures of our licenses, and put down a deposit on the car right away. We liked the car, and wanted to hold it, so we had no problem doing this even though we had not seen the car yet. We communicated with Will about our budget for the monthly payment. Will said, in an email, that they would work to make it happen. We gave Will information that he would lose, and we'd have to give it to him again and again. Our first impression, before meeting him, was that he was extremely disorganized, and we were not looking forward to dealing with him at the dealership. There was no communication between coworkers at all. We allegedly set up a time with Will to be at the dealership at 9am. On our way down, we received an email saying they were expecting us at 12:45pm. This was a problem since we do not live close, at all. When we arrived, nobody helped us right away. We thought Daynna would be helping us, but we immediately got passed on to Will from Patrick. According to Patrick, Will Smith is his one of best sales managers-yeah right! Dave L. showed us the car briefly and we took a short test drive. We wished we had more time with the car. Dave seemed like a decent human being. Will, on the other hand, continued to unimpress us. After the test drive, we had to wait to meet with Will. Dave came out to get a down payment from us, and we had not even negotiated the price at all. When we finally met with Will, he refused to go down on the price and refused to look at the material that we had brought showing that the price was inflated. He was pushy, rude, disorganized, and a bully. He would give us paperwork to sign, then take it away before we could read it. I am convinced that half of the our copies of the paperwork were put in his folder. He refused to give us a copy of the warranty plan information sheet that he basically forced us to purchase with the car. He quoted us a monthly payment that kept changing. Who even knows what our payment will be?! We felt very uncomfortable and dirty in dealing with him. It was rushed with him slamming keys on his keyboard and pretending to listen to us. We could not even take the car when we left since we live in NH and they have to send a runner, which is a separate fee of $150. He supposedly called some manager to ask if we could take the car without plates and said "I wish they had brought the plates." I said "I wish someone had told us to bring the plates." We will never buy from here again or take our car for service. We don't trust them, at all. STEER CLEAR OF CLAY SUBARU-NORWOOD. Horrible service.

I bought my car a couple weeks ago and have been traumatized ever since, I don't even want to Drive it. My salesperson was wonderful he was very knowledgeable knew everything about the vehicle and took me on an excellent test drive which made me fall in love with my new Forester. The problem came when I went into the office and met with Will Smith. He talked down to me and forced me to sign up for over $4,000 in insurances that I refused to buy but every time I said no he told me my interest rate would be higher even though I have perfect credit. I started to cry which only seem to embolden him. I literally had no more fight left in me so I just signed the stupid paperwork so I could get my car. When I was leaving he refused to give me copies of my paperwork saying that I would get them in the mail which I never got. It's been weeks and the knot in my stomach still hasn't gone away and now I have this car in my driveway that makes me sick to my stomach each time I see it. I am going to be taking this yo attorney general but I am terrified that this thug has my personal information and what he could possibly do with it.

Worked with Jeff, Jerry, and Will. All very friendly and they were not pressuring in any way. They were all very knowledgeable, and everything they had to say about the vehicles was very helpful. They all made the experience relatively painless and understood that a car is a big purchase. Would definitely recommend going here and working with these guys.

Upon arrival at the dealership I met the salesperson Bruce who greeted me promptly & professionally. He seemed to only care about making me happy in my purchase and little about anything else. I am a single woman so it made me very comfortable when he drove me in three different vehicles and only seemed interested in satisfying all of my check marks which was a nice surprise as the other salespeople I met that day (at other dealerships) were pushy & played all the stereotypical games. The problem arose later when we were at the negotiating table. Bruce went to to present my offer to "his boss" Patrick, who seemed to denigrate & speak down upon Bruce every step of the way. It wasn't long before the sexual connotations were used to describe the negotiation process with me and I quote Patrick as saying "what the F*** do you want me to do?? Drop my F****** drawers for this B****??". Only my two children were not as lucky as anyone reading this as they were within earshot along with the rest of the showroom and did not get the edited version of what he said. I didn't make a big deal of it at the time as I was in such shock after hearing this & I truly enjoyed my salesman. It has been a few months now & am thinking of getting a smaller vehicle as I have a longer commute. I know I won't be visiting Clay Subaru & this certainly wasn't a freak occurrence after reading all the reviews with his name mentioned specifically. Looking back on this, I guess buying a vehicle there is a real mixed bag.

Thanx Joooooeeeeyyyy!!! oh yeah and my payment is actually in budget(wasn't expecting it to be)

I have to start out by saying I would give Clay a 5 star review for overall experience and customer care that was taken when my mom (83) went to buy her 2nd Subaru from Clay. We delt with Patrick and Will. Got a great price for the New and Trade-In. I was so Impressed with the first experience my mom had and went to Patrick myself and also purchased a WRX.... Again, my mom insisted to go back and buy a new Subaru just this week because of the customer care that she experienced buying her first Subaru with Patrick. Now the Sales Manager, Will stepped right up to the plate and also took exceptional care with my mom.... He answered every question with knowlege and complete explanation and took his time with her making sure she understood all the bells and whistles and how to use all features. The finance guy, Joey was great, knowlegeable and also took time with complete explanation the options that were offered. I have nothing but good things to say about Clayand not sure why people have had such a negative experience dealing with Clay. It was simple with no bull for us.

Couldn't have found better people to work with... Never once was I pressured.. it was all my decision. They allowed personal space while I spoke with my husband on phone and after asking me which car I wanted they made it work and now I'm in my brand new car!! Couldnt more pleased. The GM is an amazing person, can tell by his dedication and commitment to customer service. Plan to be bacn when I'm due for an upgrade. :)

We stopped by the dealership in August and test drove a few vehicles (liked them) but weren't ready to make a decision. Jerry was so knowledgeable and our first visit so pleasant that we went back 3 months later and the new Crosstrek was out front. We loved the look and drive. The whole experience was great. We will be back for our next vehicle.JJ

Went to have mud guard repaired and paid in advance for "special order parts." Was led to believe this was entire charge for repair. When I returned later, was given another bill for labor. When I questioned the new charge,I was screamed at by service manager, verbally bullied. He is definitely not customer friendly in my view as I saw him do the same thing to another customer.

I went into Clay to consider trading in my 2012 Subaru Impreza on Dec. 30th. I had previously had a Forester for 7.5 years and thought I'd switch to the sedan, made a mistake in May--2012 because I really missed the features and size of the Forester. From the point I entered Clay Subaru, I received straightforward information on the options and pricing. Joe Mancuso was knowledgeable and did not get defensive through "friendly negotiating". He was focused on getting me what I wanted. He worked hard to find the exact car I was looking for and the all-important, right color and tracked one down the next day (new year's eve/day)from another dealership. He went the extra mile and I didn't have to endure some of the condescending, patronizing, slick talk that I had experienced at other dealerships in May when I was shopping for the last one!It is rare that you can enjoy buying a car because so many (3 other experiences)exposed to me that car sales people at other places are selling the way they sold in 1975. I am a sales trainer so I may be particularly sensitive to and intolerant of horrible sales tactics. I was impressed twice in this past year with Clay Subaru. Call Joe Mancuso if you want to avoid the stereotypical experience. He's really the best! Now, financing--worked twice with Joey Allain at Clay. He's smart, personable and works doggedly hard to get you the best financing. He got me an even better rate than I had in May! He was working well into New Year's Eve to get the paperwork done so I could get my new car on the road. When you think about buying a car--financing is part of it for most of us. Again, Joey is not like the the robots I have dealt with in previous experiences. Great guy--you'll want to work with him also. I highly recommend visiting Clay and ask for the combo of Joe and Joey.

Jerry was very friendly, thourough, and attendtive to our needs and yet not pushy. He did his best on describing new features on the car and provided extra materials to make sure we have everything we need to get accustomed to the new car. We were treated very nicely throughout the whole purchasing process, it was very pleasant. I would recommend this dealership to anyone interested in purchasing a Subaru.

I had a pleasant experience working with Jerry. I went to other dealerships prior to Clay Subaru and he was by far the best salesman I had. He did a very thorough test drive which lead me to fall in love with the car. Then he did all he could to get me the best deal and work it into my budget. After dealing with Jerry I was sent to see Joey and figure out my financing. He was very thorough as well. He explained thoroughly all my add on options and gave me the best possible deals. He was very nice, friendly and it was a great experience working with him. After the deal was made, Jerry finished through with the deal very well. He kept in great contact with me while my car was getting ready for me and the automatic remote starter was being placed in. My only complaint is that it took them much longer to give me the car than expected, originally they said the next night I would have it but I did not get it to til the following Monday night (about 5 days after the purchase). Even still I was very happy with Jerry he kept in touch with me all weekend and was very sympathetic and sorry that he could not get me the car sooner. Once he gave me the car he stayed after hours to thoroughly go through all the great things my new car could do! He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the car, I'm so happy he was my salesman! He did a great job and I could not be happier with my purchase!!

I couldn't be happier with my new car or the experience I had working with the entire crew at Clay Norwood. Scott reached out to me right after my inquiry and stayed with me during the entire process. I was able to work with Matt in Sales who really laid out all the information for me, in a completely relaxed, un-pressured manner, and gave me the confidence to make this purchase and KNOW it was the right choice. Joey in financing was great and explained everything to me, and as a recent retiree he knew it was important to get great financing,...which he did! I don't buy cars that often, so this was a big purchase for me, and an important one. I was given such great care, felt so comfortable with all the details and pricing, that there wasn't even a tinge of anxiety in this experience. I would go to this team again in a heartbeat!!!

We had a bad experience at this dealership. We signed an agreement and were given the keys to a new Impreza. They told us we could take the car home that night but we decided to come Sat afternoon. The next morning I received a frantic call from a salesman saying the car had been ordered for another customer and when could we bring the keys back. Instead of calling our lawyer we brought back the keys. There was no apology from Management and we have not received our deposit back. They are a very unprofessional and poorly managed dealership.I have never had such a poor experience buying a car.

I stopped in for a new car. I needed something with a little more room. I was a honda civc owner with an expanding family. I was greeted by the staff upon walking into the showroom. I worked with Patrick, I told him what I was interested in and he took me on a test drive of the Legacy. It drove smooth and had a lot of trunk space and a roomy backseat. Other dealer tried to push me into SUV's but those are a bit much for me. I hate sitting high up. Anyway patrick was very patient with me and all of my 2100 questions, I ended going with the Legacy and it has been the best decision. I loved how he was honest about everything and i didn't feel like a idiot after signing the paperwork.Happy with my purchase!

I found a car I liked on claycars.com most places I shopped the cars online where never really on the lots. That was not the fact when i went to Clay Subaru. I was greeted by Paul and offered Coffee or Tea or "FRESH BAKED COOKIES" as soon as I stepped in the building. Which I really appreciated. Car shopping isn't easy, but Paul & Patrick made things simple for me and my family. I love my new SAAB 97x it is fun to drive but sucks on gas.

My purchase thru Clay Subaru was one of the best that I have experienced. Everyone that I dealt with was friendly and helpful. There was no arm twisting involved, and they worked very hard to get me the car that I wanted. My salesman was very knowledgeable about the car and spent a great deal of time going ovet the car and explaining how everything worked. That was very impressive to me, and definitly made transitioning to a new car easier and less confusing. I walked out of Planet Subaru, and after owning a few Quirk cars and experiencing their hard sell, I didn't even walk thru their doors. The extra drive to Norwood was well worth it!

We were immediately greeted at the door and the positive experience started from there. Mr.Cohen led us through the entire process and was very accommodating. He was also very knowledgeable about the product, the Subaru Outback. We ended up with a vehicle that we wanted at the price we wanted. We did not feel that he was trying to up sell us. Mr. Cohen was very helpful in coordinating the installation of our additional accessories and advised us on a couple of accessories to by in the future. We love our car so far and appreciate the courteous sales and customer service. Thank you.

This is a very bad dealership and they often have prices listed online that are very different from what they list on the lot. If you are going to buy anything from them first go to their website print out some prices and then compare them to the prices on the car. Trust me you will see what I am saying I reported this to the BBB they did nothing.

We have shopped for cars at many dealerships - struck deals at some and walked out of others. However, in none of them have we received as bad a treatment as in Clay Subaru! A dealership may beat a competitor's price or not. Whatever they choose to do, they cannot treat their customers with utter disrespect. That is exactly what happened at Clay Subaru! It was our misfortune to be stuck with an extremely rude salesperson named Chris. While we had better offers for a 2013 outback from other dealerships, the color of the vehicle here appealed to us and hence we went in for a test drive. However, right from the moment Chris heard our offer (which was based upon other competing offers), his rudeness knew no bounds. He walked out right in the middle of our conversation for the reason that we hadn't brought the competing offers as e-mail printouts! He would repeatedly interrupt our conversation and behave as if he is paying us to buy the car when it was the other way around! It was a hellish experience that day! There are several good Subaru dealerships in the Mass/RI area that treat their customers well and are also competitive in pricing - so, please avoid Clay Subaru at all costs!

I can't believe this so called manager is even employed. I was going to write a long, drawn out reason for my dissatisfaction but just read the other reviews about him and you will see why I am so upset as well. He swore at me, treated me like a nuisance, and was the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. STAY AWAY FROM CLAY!

I am very surprised to see how many people had a good experience here. Maybe they just didn't deal with the person that I dealt with. I feel bad because the salesperson was very kind & did a good job. I had made an offer to purchase the vehicle the next day at a price that both myself & the salesperson felt was fair ($500 over invoice). I asked that I could just leave a deposit & come back the next day to do paperwork as I had to pick up my children from school. When the salesman approached the sales manager to present my offer he yelled at the salesman & started swearing at him because he "interrupted his conversation about the Miami Heat". He then came over & rudely introduced himself as Patrick. He told me that "Only "strokers" leave deposits & I'm not just going to give you a number to go shop with!" He yelled at me "People like you do this all the time!". I was offended & asked him for my car keys to the vehicle I was going to trade in & then he said "Take your keys back & get out of MY dealership!". I was so offended I drove all the way to Quincy the next day & actually got the car for under invoice at Quirk. They treated me fairly & I got a great price there. I just feel bad for the salesman & what they obviously have to put up with. I couldn't believe Patrick's tone of voice & obscenities he shouted across the showroom for even me to hear. I will never go back.

My wife and I stopped into Clay Subaru late one Sunday afternoon to see the Forrester & Outback. William Krasinski met us, listened to our needs, gave us a tutorial & test drive, thoroughly answered all of our questions, and was completely mindful of our time; Every minute spent with William was beneficial and not a minute was wasted. I would definitely recommend Clay Subaru and William Krasinski. Thanks again Will.

I came to Clay on my way to another dealership.(Honda). I had encountered such poor treatment at another Subaru dealership that I had begun the search for other options.I had pulled into Clay only to do a quick comparison of two models. My husband and I were addressed professionally and promptly by Jerry Cohen. I had done our research thoroughly and also have a history with a Subaru. We have no intention of letting our 1996 Outback go. Mr.Cohen addressed every single mechanical and design question we had. He did a fantastic job comparing every model type and option package with us. We test drove two vastly different models, and this from a salesman I had told that "we were only eliminating certain models,we don't want to waste your time today." We admired 4 cylinders then 6. I felt I was in my element and really appreciated that. We examined roof racks and cargo space. He discussed maintenance schedules and understood how well I stay on top of that. Joey in the finance dept.offered congrats and asked if we completely satisfied. I always want a better price for every thing and told him so. We did get the best rate and now have another credit union offering the same rate but a longer term. I had scheduled delivery a few days after purchase. My car was detailed perfectly and Mr. Cohen went over every aspect of the car with me. Thank you for such a positive experience.

My wife and I just purchased a new Subaru Outback from Clay Subaru. We cannot emphasize enough what a relaxed experience it was, primarily due to a most friendly and knowledgeable salesman, Jerry Cohen. Based on other DealerRater reviews for Jerry, we called Clay and requested to meet with him. Although it was his day off, Jerry came in and spent the better part of the afternoon with us. We never felt that we were dealing with a car salesman - he was more like a personal guide, reviewing Outback features and answering our many questions (this was our first Subaru purchase). After an extensive test drive, we walked through their lot and found a model with features and a color we wanted. When it came time to discuss pricing, he offered a deep discount off the MSRP as a starting point! After a few counter offers, we reached an agreed price (close to Edmunds TMV). Throughout the whole process, we never felt any pressure from Jerry to buy that day. Our Outback was prepped and ready by that evening. As further evidence of his commitment to us as valued customers, Jerry waited for us to pick it up (remember this was his day off). Even though the Dealership had closed, he went over the car with us again to ensure we understood all the essentials. If youre in the market for a Subaru, we cannot overstate that Jerry is the sales person you want to seek out! We also want to thank the manager, Patrick, and finance consultant, Joey, for their hassle-free assistance in this transaction.

I came into Clay Subaru after visiting a few other dealerships and was expecting the same old "what do I have to do to get you in this car today" that I had been getting, but my salesperson Robert Johnson only focused on what my perfect car should be and after explaining everything to him that I needed he showed me my new Impreza! I am very impressed with my new car but more with my salesperson and everyone else at Clay. I felt welcome without being hounded and was treated with patience and respect.

With my lease coming to its end in May I visited the dealership this past week to talk about my options. I decided that I wanted to purchase my lease. While trying to figure out some numbers for monthly payments they took my spare keys to appraise my lease. I ended up leaving unsatisfied with the numbers they were giving me. After getting home that night I realized I did not get my spare keys back. I had to call THREE times and I was told it was my MY FAULT that I never asked for the keys back and oh they were not sure where my keys actually were. The next day I got a call stating they found my keys. I went back on Sunday hoping to talk to the finance dept and told a salesman about my keys and his response was oh your the girl with the keys, ya they have them and you will get them before you leave. After an hour and a half I went up the manager and asked if I could just have my keys so I could leave and come back another day. He immediatly got defensive and kept giving me his cocky attitude. I tried to explain I wanted my keys and he kept saying "ugh your not even listening to me you are just talking over me and I dont know where your keys are" After about 5 minutes of him ranting my boyfriend had to say something and he finally got up and led me to the salesman's desk where my keys were right in the draw!!! How can you keep my spare keys( about 100$ each key) hostage and tell me you know nothing when you knew right where they were? This place is nothing but a joke. If you can't talk to the manager at a dealership who can you talk to?? Patrick is so unprofessional and if you take a minute to look at the negative comments on this website you will realize most of them have his name labeled right on them. Stay far away from this dealership and the manager here!

I came in to purchase a new car and was browsing through various places to find the best deal and the right car. I had a great experience at this dealership, and went through the entire process with ease. This dealership needs new management. Knowing they had little room to negotiate with a new Impreza, they valued my trade more than $2000 less than what other dealerships appraised it.Also, the sales manager's desk is about 20 feet away while your negotiating and its weird because he low-balls you with the price and never makes eye-contact. He send the salesman over to give you the news. The experience was so bad that I called Subaru headquarters. We went to another Subaru dealership and paid much less.

I made an apt 24 hours in advance...it would seem reasonable to receive a price for the car I was considering buying. Also the trade in value of the car I drove down there for them to examine. They kept me for an hour with no forth coming information. They only wanted to know what I had heard from other dealerships. I did not have this information as they were the first apt. The salesman, Mike was nice enough, but the sales manager was rude. There was no comparison to the professionalism with which I was treated at 2 other dealerships -- both knowing that I was comparing prices. I bought elsewhere the next day. I would not trust this dealership if this is how they treat a prospective buyer.

It was a pleasure to meet and work with the sales manager Luke Lundburg. He was pleasant, easy going and good fun. No hard sales tactics, gimmicks or tricks. He was focused on making sure I found my perfect vehicle rather than just making a quick sales. I will be taking my new car to him for all my servicing needs during my three year lease.

I traded in my car for a used Subaru and felt that Bruce Ingram was patient, detailed, friendly & accomodating. I was happy with the deal I got and had a good experience throughout the process, including in the Finance office. I have since returned to have maintenance performed on my car and again had a great experience with the service, right from the person who took my call for an appt. to right through picking up my keys at the front desk when my car was ready. It was a very friendly atmosphere. I will continue to have my car serviced there and will return to see Bruce Ingram for my next Subaru purchase. You leave with the feeling that these people really want to make sure that your satified.

Stay FAR Away from this dealership. They are HUGE liars. I wasted a Sunday afternoon trying to buy a car that I was told checked out just fine, but when I took an Amtrak to get up there (3 and a half hours) the tires were totally bald and you could see the threads on them! Also I was INTIMIDATED into buying the car. They then lied to me some more about paperwork which never came, and lied some more. I was able to get my money back (supposedly) but I am still waiting for my CC refund and my license plates to be sent back (I live in NY and they were going to transfer the plates over) I would NEVER buy anything from these guys EVER, and I advise EVERYONE to stay far away. I am going to be filing a huge complaint with Subaru of America once I get my money and my plates back.

No, no do not go to Clay Subaru stay far far away. This has got to be the absolutely lowest and worst dealership on route 1 in Norwood. Yes worse than Boch. This is what happened to me and I am warning you don't even consider Clay when making a purchase. The first thing they did wrong was to sell me my car at a price that was one thousand dollars over what they were asking online. I did not know this was the case initially as I went there to see a different car saw the one I bought and liked it a lot. Second thing they did wrong was show me the wrong CarFax. I got home looked up the car on their website and volia different CarFax. Went in the next day to get my trade back and leave and they were like we will give you the listed price sir. I demanded my car back and they kept on going down on the car I purchased and wouldn't give me my Honda back. They told me that there was still a bumper to bumper factory warranty they told me that the CarFax for the car was incorrect and they would call CarFax and have it fixed. Eventually they wore me down and I kept the car at a lower price. Boy what a mistake found out from CarFax that nothing they told me was the truth. They simply made a ton on my trade so they manipulated the situation to make a boat load. Well again never ever go there you will be happier not to believe me. I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Was thinking about buying out my lease due to the excellent buyout price vs. the market value. I contacted the finance department and connected with Joey who was very sharp and seasoned to this proccess. I felt he was very up front with disclosing all aspects of the transaction as well as what my options were. His detail oriented approach took all the guess work out of my next 5 years of transportation needs. I'm very happy with clay subaru and will return as well as refer friends and family.

I recently visited this dealership to have my car reviewed for a brake inspection. Although I was informed I had an extra 3K miles of pad life upon them I wanted to upgrade them from basic pads to ceramic pads. My suggestion was Extremely Frowned upon by the Customer Service Repair technicians. I then had to seak the upgrade elsewhere of my Brake pads and rotors from another chain i.e. (N.T.B.) National Tire and Battery. I would recommend this dealership for basic repairs BUT Not for Future Upgrade installations.

I have been going to Clay Subaru for over three years and have never taken the time to tell them what a great job they do. Richard the Service Manager and John Malloch the Service Advisor always greets me an upbeat attitude. They take me on time and then shuttle me to work. They call me when the car is ready and let me know if they have found anything unusual that I should be aware of. In a day were service is long gone and everything goes to voice mail; these guys give you a double dose of excellent service. Respectful, honest, great integrity. Never once have I felt I overpaid for any work. I have owned many cars over the years but never have I experienced service like Clay Subaru offers. When it is time to buy a new car I will get it from Clay because the service department is so fantastic.

It was time to upgrade to a new car. When dealing with a car dealership, its important to keep things simple. Otherwise they mix the new cars price with the old cars trade-in and with the loan/lease terms so that you have no idea how much the car really cost. So I sold my old car on eBay for a very good price, then went shopping for the new one.The next important thing is to know the pricing, so you know what youre talking about. You start by deciding exactly what car you want. I spent $14.00 buying the new cars pricing report from Consumers Report. The report indicates (amongst other things) the rock bottom price. So I sent a short email to all my neighborhood (radius of 50-75 miles) Subaru dealers indicating Im shopping for this specific model and that Im offering the CR rock-bottom price. The only straightforward and business-like response came from Clay Subarus Gary Walker. He responded with a slightly higher price quote saying that it was the best he could do. Moreover, Gary expressed a very welcome sales philosophy, and I quote:[Gary said] With similar discounts on all available inventories, we'd like to make it easy. So you don't have to go back and forth from dealer to dealer I'd like to offer you my one-stop shop Philosophy of getting a new Subaru . Our fees are straight forward: 6.25% State Tax, $349 Documentation Fee, $29 Inspection Sticker, $125 New Plates or $100 Transferred Plates. [End Quote]For this friendly sales attitude, Gary and the Clay Subaru dealership merit a solid 5-star rating from me.

Bought a 2011 Limited Forester. We feel we got a good deal. Norman, Patrick, and Peter were extremely helpful. They did not put any pressure on us and went out of their way to get a different vehicle at the same price. The transaction with Joe, in finance, was smooth. we were in and out with the new car in less than 3 hours.

I brought my car in for service 9/19/2011 and left completely dissatisfied. My service engine light was on and I needed an oil change, I had been bringing my car there for over a year for oil changes so I thought I would have them diagnose it and more then likely service it. The total for an oxygen sensor and oil change was $ 476.03 which to tell you the truth sounded awfully high. Does it take over 2 hours to change an oxygen sensor? I don't think so. I had someone go over the charges with me before I left. I turned out of there and within a few minutes noticed that my steering wheel had been torn up on the lower left portion. I turned back and went back figuring if I'm going to pay 476.03 they should be able to fix my car without tearing up my steering wheel. I showed it to the service manager who promptly felt it and told me it felt like it wasn't "fresh"??? I honestly know for a fact that wasn't there when I dropped the car off, and truly I wouldn't have gone back to be confrontational. He than said "There's no was I'm putting a new steering wheel on" It's funny the bottom of the invoice says "If you are not completely satisfied call me" What a crock! Don't go here, and I'm certainly voting for the "right to repair" next time around. This dealership is not different than all the other bad ones!! Don't go here! And I'm for real and will tell anyone my story and show them the tears

I would never buy a car from this place. We were quoted a payment on a car a week before my girl friend and I showed up to make the purchase. The person that quoted the price was the sales manager who I spoke with over the tephone with and agreed on a payment which was $310 but could not remember the number only that we did speak over the phone, great job Mr Patrick Francillon, second response was perhaps I made a mistake. This was a $50 dollar a month mistake. When trying to reason with him he was rude and unprofessional. Ended up trading out of the Subaru into a different make but if this is how Subaru allows their dealers to treat customers, we have made a very wise desicion. It is a joke that on their website they claim customer service is very important to them!!

I invested many hours researching Subaru models and dealerships before deciding that I wished to purchase a pre-owned Legacy Limited, 2009 or 2010. I visited a couple of highly rated local dealerships who did not have the particular vehicle I wanted and although they said that they would check with other dealerships and work with me, they did not(in particular Quirk Subaru in Braintree who wasted my time). I initially disregarded Clay Subaru in Norwood because of unfavorable reviews that I had read on this site but happened to be passing by it a week ago Sunday and decided to stop by. I had the very good fortune to meet Bruce Ingram. His knowledge, patience and personal touch went a long way toward convincing me to work with this dealership. He did a great job comparing/contrasting the various pre-owned models that they had in inventory. He answered questions thoughtfully and I never felt that he was fast-talking through any questions that I had. Phone calls and questons were responded to promptly and professionally. I purchased a car which was ready as scheduled. Management personnel with whom I engaged, were professional. I had the very clear sense, which began with Bruce, that this dealership was serious about upgrading its rating. I am very satisfied with the transaction and would recommend this dealer. Do ask for Bruce Ingram.

This dealership was absolutely the worst! I had such an awful experience trying to buy a car from them. I was trying to buy a 2010 or 2011 Outback. So I received quotes from different dealerships. Their price was the highest at the first place. But they are the closest. They said they could talk about the price and somehow cheated me into it. After the test drive, they didn't want to negotiate the price at all. The price of their 2010 is even higher than 2011 when compared with all other dealership! I have wasted a lot of my weekend time for awful experience. So stay away from them! Especially for those who live close, it's worth driving to any other dealership.

I brought my '07 Impreza wagon here for a check engine light. I spoke with the service dept. manager over the phone before stopping by. When I got there, he was pretty accommodating of the numerous questions I asked and very professional. He agreed to have a technician come out and speak to me when I requested. The performed work that was under warranty and the problem has not resurfaced since then (two months ago) -- additionally the work was done very quickly (about an hour to diagnose and replace the catalytic converter). They also told me that there was a problem with the valve-timing, which I researched online and found is a common problem with this model, but I did not feel comfortable enough with these people to spend $600 fixing something I can't see with my own eyes. In the two months since, whatever it was with the valve-timing hasn't set off any check engine lights.Overall I would give the service department here an "A". It's strange because I used to work at a Toyota dealership, where the service department was pretty grimey, run-down and unpleasant to look at, but the service team was full of really top-notch people who did excellent work. It's difficult to fork over money for some service that you can't see in front of you or immediately judge the quality of with your eyeballs. I highly recommend Prime dealerships if you are considering a non-Subaru vehicle, by the way. I had a first hand behind-the-scenes glimpse of their operation as a salesperson and can vouch for the fact that they won't screw you (I no longer work for them or for any dealership).

We purchased a new 09 outback in April 09 thru Joe Mancuso for my wife. He was honest, and straight forward. This month when I went to buy a a 2010 Forester for myself I also dealt with Joe. I test drove a 2010 Forester Limited and a 2010 Forester Limited XT. I loved how both of them handled, and really like the look of the XT. I decided the bottom line price they'd give me with the accessories I wanted would determine which one I purchased. Unfortunately, at that point the sales-manager got involved- He was, in my opinion, so uncooperative before we even started that he blew the deal. I ended up purchasing a 2010 Forester XT, which is a cheaper model, at a different dealer. I really like and trust Joe, and hope to be able to purchase Subaru's ( used )for my son and daughter with-in the next 15 months or so thru Joe, however, I pray I won't have to deal with that particular sales-manager. I liked Clay Subaru, Things were ready when promised ( our 09 Outback), they were friendly, and knowledgeable ( except for the one individual) and I would of preferred to have bought my 2010 Forester from them.Philip.Anastasiaatgmail

I leased a 2010 Subaru Outback, had a fast, smooth transaction with Mike Shtalman (the Russian guy as he was called by an earlier reviewer). Mike looks to be a very knowledgeable, patient, and friendly guy. He doesn't mislead and doesn't insult buyer's intelligence. The car wasn't available right away as it was just the start for this model, but I got regular updates from Mike until the car arrived. The finance manager (don't recall his name)wasn't all that good (he tried to sell us gap insurance which was included in the lease for free, but apologized when I pointed that out to him). I noticed there is a new finance guy when I brought the car for the service. All in all, a very good transaction.

My experience at this dealership was terrible. My wife and I were looking for a new Outback so we decided to go to this dealership because it was the closest Subaru dealership to our house. We took a test drive but weren't sure if we actually wanted to ink a deal that day. The salesperson was pretty pushy after the test drive so we sat down at the table to discuss next steps. We threw around some numbers but he agreeded to show me the invoice that showed the dealership paid $200 less than sticker. I figured it was a bogus invoice. I made an offer well below invoice knowing that the dealership got a $700 rebate from Subaru for each car they sold. He went to his sales manager and came back and offered to split the difference. I agreed and we shook hands. He said he just needed to know about our trade in and how much we were putting down so that his finance guy could get the paperwork started. I told him that we didn't have a trade in and we were putting 40% down in cash. It took him 10 mins to come to tell us that the sales manager vetoed the deal and we needed to pay full sticker. I left in disgust. I wasn't sure if the sales guy was incompenent or the sales manager was shady. Given the lack of trade in I am guessing they figured they couldn't rip me off on the deal to make the transaction profitable enough. The salesperson called me 30mins later to say he could do the deal at the price we agreed on. Needless to say I didn't return the call.

Having read the reviews on here prior to going to Clay Subaru I had made my mind up this was going to be a test drive only experience and then go else where to buy. We went there and were greeted by Mike S (Russian guy). He was very relaxed, non pushy and basically easy to get along with. We test drove an Impreza which was nice but I was also interested in the Impreza WRX wagon (Hatch). They didn't have any new wagons on site but the Sales Manager (another Mike) was driving a 2009 Impreza WRX sedan and said take this for a drive and see what you think, he even said we could take it for the night if we wanted and bring it back the next day! So we (my wife and I) were debating the options as she was also keen on the Subaru Tribeca (we were trading a Ford Explorer and I have a Audi TT, so a Tribeca would be the obvious choice, even if the WRX was distracting me...). Both Mike's were very relaxed and not pushy at all. We didn't know what to do so Mike suggested we come back Monday and he would have a 2008 Premium Tribeca that had just been traded ready for us to look at and would get a 2009 WRX Hatch delivered too so we could look at both. We went back monday and sure enough both cars were there ready for us to look at and drive. By this point we had a good feeling about who we were working with and I had done a lot of research on pricing for both (KBB + an extensive search of inventory in a 100 mile radius) so it was now a case of which one we wanted and negotiate the price. We chose the Tribeca, which was priced right where we expected and was fair based on the research I'd done. We did though mange to get $1500 off that price which I'd like to think was based on the amount of effort they had put in (i.e. they really wanted/needed to close a sale based on the time invested) and the relationship we had built up with them over the last few days. The other key was that the amount we got for the trade was what I asked for and most importantly was agreed on when we were looking to buy brand new. This figure didn't change when we switched to the one year old Tribeca. The other very refreshing thing was after the deal was done they were very proactive and took the lead to get everything done within two days (registered, plates, sticker, etc) so it was ready for the day we asked to pick to up. We got a fully loaded one year old Tribeca for 2200 less than I had seen listed anywhere in Metro Boston and we got $500 more for our trade than KBB list (and $1500 more than we were offered when looking at the (very poor and basically rude) Mazda Gallery dealer just up the road from Clay Subaru. So in summary I think it probably comes down to who you are dealing with, when you go in and I think having an open mind helps! We were very lucky and i can say without doubt this was the best experience we have had with any dealer.... Hope this isn't a one off and others have positive experiences too (that they would like to share)

I read all the bad reviews for this place..geeze maybe I should not have bought there, but when I went to Subuaru in Norwood I already knew what car I wanted, went and picked out the car for the salesman and took it for a ride. The price was no problem and got 100K warranty for car. Bought a 2005 Subaru Forester LL Bean Edition with huge roof and leather. Still own it and bring it in for service there for specific things that my neighborhood guy cant do.

Went in to trade my domestic car for a new 2009 Impreza Wrx.Seen I really wanted a new Wrx, I seemed too eager and that was the end of my chances of getting a good price (my fault really...). The salesman, Joe C., was a quite likeable guy, even though I had in mind that he was a bit on the sleazy side.Problems started right after the purchase and there were several of them:- they failed to call me to follow up to see if I was satisfied of my purchase and later on said they actually tried calling me, which was completely false.- because I had to take my car rather in a hurry and had not time to had the state inspection sticker done, the salesman told me they would simply mail me a check for $29 to reimburse me of that expense. It took me at least 10 or more phone calls before they finally did it. It took some 2 months for them to do this.- when I purchased my new Wrx, I had them install a gps based theft recovery system. In order for its premium features to be activated, the dealership had to send the theft recovery sys. company an email providing them with my info and my car's info. Needless to say that it took almost 2 months for that to happen. And it happened only because I had to call them many more times before someone actually sent that darn email.- while these problems (the failure to reimburse the state sticker cost and them not sending the email to activate my theft recovery system's premium features) were still not satisfactorily solved by the dealership, I was called by their cust. service manager (I don't remember his name now...) and quite rudely being asked why I had filled out a Subaru survey complaining about these issues...All in all, while I would give them a passing grade while purchasing a car with them, I must admit that if they after sale service is what it is, they should be in business. I will NOT buy any car from them again and I suggest no one does.

They are a bunch of crooks. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. I bought a new STi and paid an additional $600 for the bluetooth connectivity. Well, they installed an aftermarket bluetooth that was junk rather than the Subaru official OEM bluetooth. After numerous telephone calls to the dealer, they eventually "manned up" and admitted that they installed an aftermarket bluetooth. They eventually agreed to swap it out with the factory bluetooth, but the salesman said that they didn't have to make the swap because the paperwork didn't specify what kind of bluetooth they had to install!!! He then told me that the aftermarket bluetooth was more expensive. So of course, if it was more expensive, I asked for a refund on the difference. He told me that they lost enough money on this car. They also installed the front license plate crooked, and the fix required an extra hole in my front bumper. They were also extremely rude. This is what you get when you spend $42,000 for a new car. This is the worst dealership I have ever been to, and I buy new cars every 3-4 years. If they were the last dealership on earth, I'd rather bike to work than buy anything from them.

This dealership was the worst! We went here to buy a 2009 forester. We had such an awful experience. They took us for a test drive and then sat us down to talk about prices. We told them we were not going to buy that day, but it was like they were not listening. I had quotes from other dealers and had a good idea of what I could get the car for. They asked what I wanted for my trade-in and I asked for $1000 more than it was worth. They came back and said they could do it without even seeing my car. They were not willing to negotiate on the sticker price of the new car. When I told them I had lower estimates they started to wheel and deal with the finance options and offer lower monthly payments. They were not at all specific about what they were doing other than the final cost to me. They wanted a deposit without seeing my car or running a credit check. It was all so sketchy. Once we said we needed time to think the pressure started. Finally, I had enough and we left while they followed us out. This was such a stressful environment to but a car! DON'T GO HERE!!!

Went in with my father to look at a used Camry. Took the car out for a drive, came back, and went inside to negotiate a price. I asked the sales person what they were willing to sell the car for, he said, "Just give me an offer, and I'll give it to my sales manager, and we'll go from there." I said ok, how about $7500. I knew very well that I was not gonna buy the car for that price, and that they were not going to sell it for that price. But I figured, here's a number, and we'll negotiate. I had absolutely no problem spending up to $9500 on the car (they were asking $10,900). He took the price to his sales manager, who looks at us and with a fairly loud voice says, "What?! Get the hell out of my dealership! Thats an insult." So my father and I got up, I politely asked the manager, "Do you guys not negotiate on prices at all." and he responds, "No! in my 15 years I've never had to negotiate a price with someone. Now just get out, that's an insult."If that's the way they treat customers who want to buy a car, I can't even imagine what service is like. The sales manager (Mike Q) was the most disrespectful person I have ever met. I will never set foot in that dealership again, even if they were giving away cars. I am shocked at how pathetic he is, and how he can expect to sell cars that way.If you wanted to be treated with respect, stay away from this dealership.
