This is my 4th new Subaru and second Outback from the same dealer. Wasn't really happy with my experience before, so did not plan to buy anything from Colonial, just to stop by to look at the car, because this dealership is closest to me. Christer Cambriello had a car I wanted, was very professional, knowlegeble and nice, no sales pressure, but some good advice. Spent very little time in dealership, get a fair price and financing. Everyone was very helpful and professional. Great team work, very nice new facility too! Love my week old new Outback and big thank you to Christer Cambriello, Nick Forese and Ryan Jowdy. Will definetely recommend Colonial now, so far the best and the most pleasant car buying from the dealer!

After weeks of exhaustive searching and visiting dealers across the state I had decided on the car I wanted. My journey started with 3 cars; Ford Focus, Mazda3 and the Subaru Crosstrek. I teetered between used and new, leasing and financing. I learned on the way; dealers will talk your ear off while letting you test drive distracting you so it is better to shake them if you can. I had dealers who did not listen well to me and I eventually learned you stand up and walk out. I learned owning a new with a lower APR versus a used with a higher will eventually pan out to be the same so it's best to go with new. After one unsuccessful day a friend let me drive his Subaru Impreza. I mentioned I was looking into the Crosstrek but my mind was quickly changed when I drove his 2016 Sport Premium. It is the same body with a lower suspension. The sport premium came at an additional price than the premium; it includes roof rails and fog lights. I quickly narrowed my search to a 2016 Impreza Sport Premium in Blue Quartz Pearl. I found only one in the whole state of Connecticut. It was in Danbury, an hour and a half away from me. There was no price listed and said to ask for a quote, knowing that dealers were asking for $22,500+ on average I decided to go with $22k. To my surprise I got a friendly response from April saying that they would meet me at my price. I immediately thought; what's the catch? But there did not seem to be any hidden strings.April was very patient with me, this was my first time buying a car and it proved to be stressful on me. She kept her smile on and cheery personality during my intense indecision days. It all worked out and I've been driving my new car for 2 weeks, loving it! It definitely helped that I knew what I wanted going into the dealer and that they did not pressure me into buying the car. Huge plus is that they don't slap on a dealer sticker on the back! It was worth the 70 mile drive across the state for this vehicle.

My salesman Christer Cambriello was very helpful. I did most of my correspondence through email and text hand he mad sure everything was ready to go when it came time for me to pick up the vehicle. I have never spent less time in a dealership purchasing a vehicle. Overall I was extremely pleased. Had a great experience with Chris Cambriello and Colonial Subaru. I was looking for a low mileage Pre-Owned Forester. Dealer maintained one owner and a clean Carfax.Chris responded to my emails and after a quick conversation we set up my appointment.Chris made the process nice and easy. Joe D'ercole was my salesperson then and I found him very sincere, friendly, and professional. When it came time to trade in my car 4 years later and look for something new I was hoping that I would find Joe there again. I was very happy to discoverer that he indeed was in that day. Again it was a great and positive experience. Joe remains sincere, friendly, and professional and is very good with communicating as well. He patiently listened to me and answered all of my questions. Cell phone communication was excellent. Joe answered all of my calls and called me to keep me apprised of the steps along the way. Joe understood my needs and encouraged me to decide on a car that would fit my needs and one that I would be happy with. I was debating between 2 models. Joe presented clear and objective information on both models. He suggested an option which had just what I was looking for, the Impreza Sport model. Once I had decided on this choice Joe went out of his way to find this particular model for me in my 1st choice color. Even the most dreaded part of a car buying transaction, the meeting with the financial manager, was pleasant! Jim Meehan was the best I had ever dealt with. He was also very friendly, explained everything very clearly, step by step, and was not at all pushy. I am confident that if any issues arise with my new car that both of them will be responsive and helpful. They don't forget about you once the sale is made! I'm sure this car will give me many years of good service, but I will definitely come back to find Joe D'ercole and Jim Meehan next time.

I went to Colonial Subaru based on a few friends reviews. One in particular sold me on visiting to find my new car. I asked for Joe D'Ercole by name, and from introduction until closing he composed himself with nothing but the utmost care and professionalism. This is my 4th new car, first Subaru, and it certainly will not be my last... thanks to Joe. He made what has ALWAYS been the awkward and not so fun part about buying a car (negotiating a price) completely smooth and effortless. It was quick and painless as I wish all of my previous buying experiences were. We talked, test drove some cars and sat down to talk numbers. Joe came back with unbelievable prices for all the models I was looking at. I settled on a 2017 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium package. Words cannot express how thankful I am to Joe for his courteous, and friendly attitude throughout what is always a dreadful process. My boyfriend spoke to Joe as we were leaving about a car that peaked his interest, and is heading back to work out a price and make his new car purchase!

I started out at Colonial Subaru for convenience, but having now dealt with them I would honestly go out of my way if necessary to work with this dealership again. Everyone was helpful and understanding, and working with Joe Jowdy was a pleasure. A more authentic, down-to-earth guy you'd be hard-pressed to find! It was like buying from a neighbor. We got a rock-solid good price, and there was never a push for extras -- some we took; some we didn't. Ryan, the delivery specialist, spent considerable time with us. It's my first experience with so many electronics, and he was patient and thorough. He did a lot of the setting up for me, too. I was used to a 'here are the keys, here is the starter, here are your signals, here are the wipers, here is the way out' kind of explanation -- Ryan's qualifies as an in-service! He also gave me his cell number for on-the-spot questions and made clear implicitly and explicitly that I could stop in at any time if need be. We're a family that holds on to its cars for a long time, so it was a bit sad after twelve years to say good-bye to "Annabelle." Joe could see that. I promise, he said, you will feel the same way about your Forester. He was right. I already love "Mavourneen."

Went to 3 Subaru Dealers in Fairfield County, CT since I live in Stamford to get some insight on purchasing a WRX. Went to Colonial Subaru and they were the only dealership out of the 3 that gave me the keys to test drive a WRX. I am so glad that Drew was my salesman, He has personally owned a WRX and knows of every aspect of the new FA20 engine and has given me so much insight why GEARHEADS want this new engine, I did purchase the Simoniz Glass Coat to protect my new WRX so when I resell it to a GEARHEAD that wants to mod it out I will get the most resell value. The WRX is a True World Rally Cross Car and I look forward driving it each day. If you are in a market for a WRX you must go to Colonial Subaru and ask for Drew and test drive a WRX

In a world that is moving ever faster into the digital age where transparency is the watchword, my experience in trying to lease an Impreza 5-door still had 'old world' qualities of "come on in and we'll talk".Once we settled on the make and model, my wife and I shopped for price. Colonial made a terrific offer (we thought) based on the terms we required, but some of the language in our email exchanges suggested they were either not paying attention, or they were preserving the right to 'change the deal' by using a slightly different interpretation. (We wanted a 'drive off' price, given a fixed amount of cash brought to the dealer; they kept recharacterizing the offer as a 'downpayment'. There's a big difference, as taxes and fees come after/outside any money paid as a downpayment.)Their quote held... until it didn't. April's sales manager wrote back claiming there was 'just a mistake, plain and simple', and that we were nowhere near an actual offer (to suggest this was a bait and switch). Funny, didn't feel that way to me.In contrast, Subaru of Stamford was straight up: you bring in this amount, you drive away with the car and this is your monthly.I won't pretend to know where the responsibility for this "plain and simple' mistake lies; but after multiple email exchanges, I can't help but think it should have stopped earlier.

After being with the same Subaru salesman in Brewster for 17 years, I found myself without him as he had left the dealership. Then when promises to step-up and help me here with someone new didn't come to fruition, I decided to try Colonial Subaru. I must say that it was an enlightening experience making me realize that leaving my old dealership was perhaps meant to be. I spent a lot of time with the manager(George Samaha), before finally getting a new lease from Drew Furtado. Both continued to make feel like I had made the right decision to get my 5th Subaru from Colonial, with each of them making sure that I got just what I was looking for and making the whole process and easy and pleasant experience.

Stopped by Danbury Subaru Saturday to look at the 2016 Forester Models. Met Dan and told him we wanted to think about it. On the way home we decided that we wanted to purchase the floor model so we called Dan and put a down payment over the phone. Went back Sunday and Dan explained everything so thoroughly. Took all the necessary information and we were told we could pick up our new Subaru the next day - Monday!!! Still can't believe how smooth the transaction was. Colonial Subaru created a low pressure, helpful environment for our Outback purchase. During my first visit which was a walk-around and a look at the Outback, Forester and CrossTrek, I was never followed by a sales person. Finally, Ms. Harrsch saw me looking extensively at the Outback and opening the rear tailgate and asked if she could answer any questions. From that moment in March to late April, when my wife came to look at the Outback, we were not contacted or pressured in any way. Angie was very patient with my wife, this is her car, and her many questions. We test-drove the 3.6R Limited and the 2.5i Limited to gauge the horsepower difference between the two cars. Angie was always available to answer any questions or be available for another visit to the dealership. We had a relatively smooth negotiation over the price of the vehicle with its few add-ons. The deal was concluded in mid-May, about 3 weeks after my wife's initial look at and test drive. When we "picked up" the car, Ryan was superbly helpful in explaining, very patiently, about every button, dial, and setting in the Starlink system. He would look at us and realize that we had a puzzled look on our faces; so, he would back up and review what he had said and then ask if we were OK to move on. He was willing to take as much time as we wanted to be comfortable with the operational details of the car and also the electronic details. He is not a part of the sales team but is available to the sales team to help a buyer with the new car. What a fabulous resource for Colonial Subaru to have to educate the new owners about their car.

This was my first buying experience with Subaru. My research led me to the Subaru Legacy as my ideal car and I tried a few different places while looking for the right one. The last place I visited was Colonial Subaru. They were the last because my search ended with me buying from them!Dan Holuba was the salesman who helped my wife and I pick the right car for us. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. I felt like Dan wasn't trying to sell me a car, but helping me find the car that I already knew I wanted. Some of the advice that Dan gave us ultimately led to us picking the car we did. I love the car and hope to keep it for years to come.I've had some bad experiences in the past buying used cars, but this time it was easy and fun! The facilities are well maintained and beautiful, and all the employees there were great. I'd recommend Colonial to anyone. My only complaint is that this gem of a dealership isn't closer to home. But it was worth the drive!

I first touched base with Colonial Subaru salesperson April Zanotti over the phone, after I flagged/identified four used cars that I was potentially interested in during an online search. She was very pleasant on the phone and had especially encouraging follow-up information on some of the cars, in particular a 2007 Toyota RAV 4 Limited (AWD) with only 62,400 miles on it. April did call out positive points on the other cards, all Subarus, but she didn't hesitate to say that she had personally brought the Toyota via a trade/sale with an older woman from a nearby town. She said the car was not only clean, but in excellent shape for a 9-year-old vehicle, with religious maintenance at nearby Greentree Toyota dealership. The very next day, I went to the Colonial dealership on Route 6 and April calmly and expertly walked me through everything, and was particularly helpful in using e-mail to secure the needed insurance card for the Toyota. The finance guy, whose name escapes me, was equally expert and friendly, and better yet got me a good rate on a loan. He also took my cue that I had bitterly regretted purchasing a prior warranty on a used car and so didn't push hard on costly warranties; I did, however, purchase the powertrain/tranny warranty as a hedge against worst-case experience; it was affordable and does not cover all the extra crap I have no interest in. April was bright, demonstrated her expertise without rushing through things, and she was NOT cheesy-quick-aggressive, like too many car salespeople -- transparent they want to shove you into an expensive transaction, rather than what you made it clear you are looking for. Brava April and Colonial Subaru!

The Legacy I bought from Colonial Subaru was my first car purchase ever, and I wasn't entirely sure how the whole process worked. A neighbor of mine is on her 3rd Subaru and said Colonial is an excellent dealership. So far she is correct. The entire purchase process was easy & no surprises. This is a beautiful car which my wife really loves. This is my second visit to Colonial Subaru in Danbury. Both visits I was in the market for a new car and both visits I ended up going with another manufacturer because of the poor experiences at Colonial. This latest time, my lease was up on my Mitsubishi Lancer AWD and wanted to test drive a Legacy as it was the first one on my list. Let me stop here actually and preface this by saying I am 26, Poduct Manager with excellent credit. I bring this up (even though I shouldn't have to) because for some reason I think the salesman knowing that would have helped my situation. Anyway, a salesman comes up to me asking what it was that I was looking for. When I mentioned a Legacy he immediately shot me down saying that car was too expensive for me, and it wasn't a young person's car. I proceeded to tell him that I've done a lot of research and its the number one car on my list. Legacy's are very affordable, it's not like they're some super high end luxury car. He continued to refuse to let me even talk about a legacy because the Impreza just made that much more sense for a person like me. He was very rude the whole time and constantly seemed like I was wasting his time. I explained to him that I'm not worried about the payment of the Legacy and to please let me see it and hopefully test drive one. He never did. I then leveled with him just to see ANYTHING, I asked about Subaru's on the Premium Packages and whatnot and of course he seemed really confused. It was like I was teaching him. I mean come on, these days salesman should really know their stuff, everything is on the internet, they really should not be outsmarted by customers!Overall, rude customer service, pushy for all the wrong reasons, judgmental and unprofessional.BTW, I drive an AWD lancer now because I had a similar experience 3 years ago with the older Legacy. Needless to say, this time I got a Ford Fusion AWD for a much better Deal. Young professionals beware!

I had gone through the internet to locate a dealer. Chris was the first person to respond to my email. He asked about the features I was looking for so to provide an accurate price and encouraged me to come by the dealership to test drive the cars I was interested in.First, the dealership is great. Nice waiting area - big and clean. The service center looked brand new with a lot of activity. I even visited the parts department to see how the service was. Too bad I live too far away to take advantage of Colonial's service and facilities. Chris provided just the facts on the cars and what the price would, He was not pushy or tried to talk me into getting unneeded options. Chris was friendly and had great follow up ... he did what he said he would do to order the car and kept me informed at each milestone of the delivery process. Chris also knew a lot about the cars that I was interested in (I could not decide between a Forester or an Outback at first). He told me what he liked about each and what he did not like ....It was just like getting to a car review from a third party. One thing for sure, Chris is excited about Subaru vehicles!Thanks for making car purchase an enjoyable experience.

I visited this dealership after a bad experience at another dealer closer to my house. Dean Demott was kind, professional, and courteous. The car I wanted was in stock and I picked it up two days later. Dean gave me a fair deal on my trade in and purchase price without painful haggling. I love my new Subaru and this dealership. I also received a great deal on extended warranty which I probably will not need since I bought a Subaru. This was so much better than other experiences at European luxury car dealerships. Ryan Jowdy spent about an hour going over all the features in the automobile and even gave me his cell phone so I can call if I have questions. He also offered to give me a second lesson on the electronics in the car. Nick Forese accomplished the financial transaction part of the deal in lightening speed. Don't hesitate...if you think you want a Subaru, go to Colonial in Danbury first.

Being my first time Subaru experience, Joe was highly recommended to me from a family friend. As soon as I walked in the dealership I felt that it was a well-run establishment. It was clean, professional, and packed with customers! (A good sign). Even though Joe was busy with another customer, he still greeted me and set me at ease from start to finish. Right away he asked the right questions, while answering mine at the same time. He was trusting enough to let me and my mom (who was with me) take a test drive alone. While I was a little hesitant about the car's brakes I was interested in - he not only had it addressed immediately with the service team, but held the car when he could of easily sold it to 5 different people throughout the day! I've got to say the experience at colonial Subaru was a very good one. Our Salesperson Joe was super honest, direct and very accommodating. The majority of the deal we handled over the phone and I was fretful that there would be surprises once we came in to pick up the vehicle. We traveled a great distance. No surprises, no games The deal was exactly as we discussed. The car was presented as advertised prepped and ready to go. Our dealing with the business manager Irwin was cordial and accommodating . When a very minor discrepancy in the deal arose, and he immediately remedied it to our favor. I had already researched and test-driven a 2016 Subaru Outback at another dealer, but wasn't satisfied with the price they had offered for my current Honda, which still had several months remaining on the lease. Once we had that resolved, Jason walked through all the options on the Outback and helped me pick a car that I absolutely love! I spoke with Drew Furtado and I got a good vibe instantly. I came in and he had the car ready to be test driven. He is very knowledgeable with Subaru, I learned a lot of about safety features and the heated strip under windshield that no one ever told me about! Well, after the test drive we talked about pricing and my different options with financing. I am a realistic person. I understand they are a business, but I just wanted to make sure I was treated fairly. I believe I was with Drew and Colonial. I got the car I wanted at the price I expected. I was looking for a used car, and as a first time buyer I was very nervous. I searched and went to multiple dealerships, and had nothing but bad vibes and experiences. When I walked into Colonial Subaru, I knew I was in the right place. I had made an inquiry online for a 2010 VW jetta TDI. Christer Cambriello called me with all of the details. We made an appointment to test drive, and sure enough the car was there waiting for me. I loved the car- it was in mint condition being a used car. My father was a mechanic and taught me all the tricks. This dealership is nothing but professional- no tricks involved. I couldn't take the car that day, but I wanted to come back the next week to pick it up. I jokingly asked if someone could pick me up from the metro north train station to take me to my new car. Christer without blinking said it was no problem at all. Such service!With living in NJ I thought the registration/insurance process would be a hassle, but the dealership handled everything for me. When my wife wanted to upgrade her 2005 Subaru Forester to a new one, there was little doubt what she'd chose next. I came into Subaru Danbury with my mother, not really knowing if I wanted to buy a new or used car. Drew, immediately made my decision easy -- and I am now a brand new car owner of a 2015 Subaru Impreza. I came into Colonial Subaru on a Tuesday evening, around 530PM after work. We had an appointment with Drew, and he immediately showed me options of a used car purchases in their lot. It became difficult for me to decide, because I knew I wanted an AWD, low mileage, and a reasonable priced vehicle - and that's when Drew suggested his offer of a brand new Subaru Impreza. I came back to Colonial Subaru the following day, and test drove the car -- I loved it! The Colonial Subaru team knew that I wanted this car by the end of the week, and they made that happen for me. The next day (Thursday), I got a call from Erwin saying that I got approved for the car, and by 5PM that day, I was driving it home. Drew even came in on his day off to congratulate me, but also to thoroughly go over the car's functions and detail. I have just been so impressed with Colonial Suburu -- with their great teamwork, respect to customers, and attentiveness to our needs. George Samaha was also excellent, having wonderful spirits and being so reassuring as I am a first time car buyer. I have had my car for over a week now, and I still have the biggest smile when I turn that engine on every time. Thank you Drew for making my experience easy. I was interested in the outback 3.6 back in April. I was fortunate to have Drew as my sales rep. He was courteous and knowledgeable about the vehicles as well as setting my expectations when I asked about delivery time frame. We test drove a sedan as there were no outbacks available to drive at the time. He understood that I did not want a "dog and pony" show nor did I want to haggle over price. Drew was very honest with me and suggested I choose color combinations in order of preference (interior/exterior) and he would inform me when a vehicle was allocated. We touched based a couple of time to update the delivery date. By July, the car came was at the dealership. He also facilitated a trade-in transaction. On pick-up day, Drew was thorough and efficient in reviewing the car (as I was pressed for time). He called again to check up and inform me that plates were being sent out. Overall, a stress-free event. I usually dread shopping for a new car, but Drew made it easy for me. :-)

Walked into Colonial Subaru knowing exactly what I wanted, as long as the numbers met my expectations.. A pleasant welcome from the receptionist, led me to working with Chris Townsend. Not only does Chris work for Subaru, he also owns one, and shares a high level of enthusiasm about the Subaru brand. After describing what I wanted(it happened to be on the showroom floor, clean, spotless, without a blemish), Chris went over several different payment options, and was able to meet me with a deal I was comfortable with. During the interim of my original visit, and delivery of the car, Chris kept in contact, updating me as well as reminding me of the simonize option. He was efficient, friendly and answered all of my questions. Nick Forese in the Finance Department was also very helpful. Everyone was professional including the young lady at the front desk. I walked in and was greeted in a very respectful manner and was taken care of immediately. What a great team they make. This was the easiest purchase I have had yet!!! I had my 6 year old daughter with me and both of them had her smiling. Drew knows his Subarus from top to bottom. We took a 2008 Impreza out for a test drive, and came back two days later to purchase the vehicle. Our salesperson, Christer Cambriello, was super helpful. We stopped by on a Sunday, when they were closed just to look. He was there and took the time to come out and help us anyway. My daughter was buying her first pre-owned car and he was great with her. They even took out a bunch of dings at no charge. The car looked brand new when she picked it up. I registered on a few car buying websites inquiring about a new WRX. I did a fair amount of research and I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted and what was willing to pay. James Ascone, Internet sales, responded to the inquiry very quickly and he quoted me a very fair price for the vehicle. Actually, from the more than 10 dealerships which responded to my internet inquiry, James Ascone quoted me the best price. We spoke on the phone and he was extremely friendly and helpful. I decided to purchase the vehicle from him. After meeting him at the dealership, I knew I would be happy with my decision. His co-worker Valon also helped me while at the dealership. Valon was also very friendly and accommodating. My purchase experience ended with Erwin in finance. He also was friendly, patient with questions and he did not engage in any pushy tactics, (Which I've experienced elsewhere). Based upon my experience with the three employees listed here, I could not have asked for a better car buying experience. If you're thinking of getting a Subaru, you should give James or Valon the opportunity to earn your business. They earned mine.

Buying my certified, pre-owned car through Colonial Subaru (and the Costco Auto Program) a very enjoyable experience. My Sales Person, Glen Gehrkens was very easy to work with, well informed on the Subaru product and purchasing certified pre-owned vehicles and always available to answer my questions.An upholstery repair that had to be made was handled by Colonial's service department which was an easy and quick process. Waiting area is comfortable and well equipped with beverages and snacks and waiting time was minimal.

I needed a new car and decided to look on the Internet for pre-owned Subarus. I looked all over the Tri-State area as I live in Cold Spring, NY. I wanted a Subaru Forester or Outback that was $10,000 or less with a very good history. I found many dealerships with newer cars and much heftier prices until I found Colonial. I found quite a few cars in my price range. I found a couple that I wanted to see in person. I contacted the dealership via the Internet link and via E-mail corresponded with Christer.I work in NYC and i really wanted to see a car as soon as possible but had to arrange for a friend to take me to Danbury after work. Christer waited for us to arrive even though we arrived after closing. He was very helpful, friendly and upbeat even though we were keeping him from an appointment. I test drove 2 cars and he asked if I wanted to see any more. I liked the 2005 Subaru Outback very much as it fit within my budget, had all the extras I wanted and some and was low mileage and had an impeccable history. I decided to buy the car and put down a deposit. Christer then said it would go in for service and told me they would be replacing the timing belt, water pump, brake lines, and much more that I don't remember. I was totally impressed. When it came for me to pick up the car Christer arranged for me to be picked up at the Southeast Metro North train station. I was met by a very nice young man who was very professional and engaging. The transactions all went very smoothly and i was on my way in my new car that feels like a brand new car because it was prepped and serviced by Colonial so very well.I have already encouraged anyone who might want to buy a Subaru in the future to please check out Colonial Subaru and ask for Christer as he is my hero.Thank you for letting me praise all the persons at Colonial that I met.

Our finance person was able to get us a low interest rate which was appreciated; but our first meeting was so rushed we hated him. When we picked up the car, he was more personable but still spoke so quick it was hard to understand what he was saying. We priced our new 2015 Outback with several dealers over the internet and in person with several dealers here in Westchester. Many said we would have to wait 6-8 weeks for a car. The ones we received prices from were not as good as the one we received from Valon. He was great to deal with. It all went smooth. They had cars in stock and we were able to secure the car we wanted at a great price. This was our first time we have dealt with Colonial, and we highly recommend Valon and the dealership. As someone who tends to be uncomfortable with car dealerships, sales people, and anything that feels corporate, I was stressed and tentative about approaching this experience. I waited for about five minutes in the dealership, which was open, naturally and brightly lit, and surprisingly calm- feeling. I then met Christer (Internet Sales Manager and the person who handled my lease), whom I liked immediately. He handled the business aspect of the interaction with expertise and integrity, and the human aspect with warmth and patience. I felt like a complicated process was well-managed, and I came away from it impressed, and feeling grateful for good people in unexpected contexts. Christer also handled follow-up questions and paper work promptly and effectively. Also, the car's pretty great.

After making internet inquiries of about 6 Subaru dealers in the general area, only 2 answered our questions directly each and every time, including Christer at Colonial Subaru. Christer distinguished himself as a no-nonsense matter of fact salesman, yet always gracious and helpful. He didn't try to sell or push us toward what we didn't need or ask for - he simply showed us options and guided us through the selection process. He made himself available when we needed and yet modestly engaged the help of Erwin and others on the Colonial team where the process required. Both Christer and Erwin were very patient and clear, and followed through on everything they stated or promised. Having spent the day across three dealers hunting for a vehicle for my son who is in college, I started South on Route 7 and worked my way North. My son wanted a Jeep Wrangler so i asked him to do some research on Gas Mileage, Maintenance, Insurance, Resale Value, etc.--- Sort of his first foray into Total Cost of OWNERSHIP... He did his Due Diligence and we set out on a course to hunt for year end deals and looks at 2014 closeouts across Jeep, GM, Nissan offerings and landed at our last stop nearly accidentally at Colonial Subaru to see what they had as well. When we arrived we were both tired and cold, but the welcome of the dealership and the open and personal touch and professionality offered by Joe Oliveri and Bobby Chien were amazing. We spent 15 minutes looking into makes and models suitable and ran a comparables with the other manufacturers' offerings we were contemplating and within minutes sat in and test drove a few of the finest Subarus on the lot. We were interested in an Impreza with color and options and then Joe and Bobby combed the NE dealer inventory and found exactly what we wanted at a fair value point. We discussed the deal and were well into the process, when I asked what the car was in the lobby and Joe said it was a Cross Trek and it offered much of the same of what Impreza had but a bit higher off the ground and a few other bells and whistles that we came to value. We identified a 2014 on the lot Alpine White Cross Trek and within 15 minutes had the deal done. There was no walking to and from Joe and Bobby's offices with this that and the other. Bobby came to Joe's desk and we pounded out an amazing total package deal with a trade that was truly a win-win-results for me and my son and Colonial Subaru. When we came back the next day to pick up the car, Joe spent an hour with us going over all the new car orientation with a reassurance that any, and he meant any questions or follow up items we needed were just a phone call away and to this day a month later he has lived up to that commitment and then some. We also were offered extended warranty option and total vehicle protection and we picked and chose the right configuration for us with the help of Jim Meehan, the friendliest financing ops leader. We did not buy every option offered and were again assured and reassured that the sensible things were tended to and no detail was overlooked! Would have to say that HELPFULNESS goes a long way. Will be in the market soon as our third turns 16 in a short few months and I will start and end with Colonial Subaru as I am confident in the "team" and what they can do for the customer!

This is my second time purchased a car from a dealer. When I purchased my first car, the dealer added a $3000 warranty to my car without telling me. I found out the warranty when I checked the price list. I asked the dealer what that was, the dealer confused me by telling me how useful and wonderful was the warranty. At the end I realized that package was very useless. When I purchased my second car at Colonial Subaru, they listed all the price very clearly and simple. They did not add any warranty without telling me. They worked fast and very friendly. I believe they tried their best to help me. Highly recommend this dealer place. I don't remember the finance person who helped me but he was very nice and helpful too.

Funny story: I tried to buy a used car from the guys and I will tell you if there is a way to muck up a deal, these knuckleheads will find it. They were asking about $11,000 for a car. I would have paid 10, cash, perhaps more. A couple days after a short test drive, I called the salesman Pete and gave a low offer to start. This being the internet age and all and email being the most efficient and direct means of communication that I know and being a busy person, I asked that we employ this state of the art device to proceed. He agreed, took my contact info and said he would get back me. Fair enough. I figured a few emails back and forth and we would hit an agreement pretty darn quickly. Long story short: two weeks of phone calls, phone tag, phone calls to say nothing had changed and elusive promises of emails, my eyes were bugging with frustration. These guys were calling me at work, at home, while I was Christmas shopping. Pete said I could have the car for $9800. I hung in the wings. He called two days later, more phone tag and he got the manager Gary on the phone. Gary said 10 and cursed (literally) at his employees for telling me 98. Getting a weird vibe about the place and in a state of melodic meltdown, I put out a 30 minute, take it or leave it offer of 95, dealer fees included. If a no go then lets just move on. No go it was. Monday morning: Email (I nearly fell out of my chair) from Pete. $9300 fees included. WHOA! No go maybe not! A good enough offer to chance getting back into the circus tent with these guys. Email back: Done. Next day: Phone call ?. They made a mistake. The price is really $9500. Now, do you think they were playing with me? I declined. Two days later: I munched on my pride and emailed back that I will take it at 95. I wanted to drive it one more time to check a wind noise they had worked on. Pete emailed to come on down. We were there in an hour and took it for a long test drive and with checkbook in hand said we would take it. At that point Gary said someone else (may) be interested in it and it was no longer available at that price. Seriously? My wife said she would gladly pay a thousand or two more not to have to work with this pair. So, if anyone has a tasty little Miata for sale.

We went into the dealership thinking that we were going to buy a legacy because we weren't able to afford a Forester for our growing family, but in fact, Jim gave us a price for the forester that was in our budget (which no other dealership was able to do) and we signed the papers immediately. My Sales Rep, Jason Walker, has the patience of a saint -- in fact, it seems to be the philosophy at Colonial Subaru. Here's why I say that.... I went in to look at the Subaru Outback, and had looked at a few when I spotted the Forrester in the showroom. While it wasn't the color I wanted, I thought it looked like a better choice for me. Knowing that white was really what I had on my mind, Jason looked at their inventory and found a white Forrester. Unfortunately, it wasn't the Limited (which is what I was looking at) as I really wanted leather seats. He suggested they could swap out the seats and recover in leather. I was all over it. Three days later I came in and signed all the paperwork courtesy of Erwin only to decide I wasn't delighted with the way the leather looked. It didn't seem to fit right. Jason assured me he spoke with the installer who stated it would take a few days (up to a week) for it to fit as I expected. I later read its because the seats are put through so much during the install that the foam time to get back to original shape (go figure). I also realized that the car didn't have the spoiler and a few other options -- completely my fault. It was a long day and I wasn't as on top of it as I should have been. Bottom line, taking into consideration the combination of things, I wasn't delighted with my purchase. I wanted to return it for the Limited. Knowing I had to act quickly, I called the dealership first thing in the morning and got Jason's voice mail. I decided to call the GM, George, who listened to my story. No dealership wants to take a car back, but he did -- and he did it with a smile. I returned the car and selected another car that I picked up a few days later. I LOVE my new Forrester Limited. Thanks to Jason, George and Erwin for all you did to make my buying experience such a good one.

I really love the new 2015 Forester it's a smooth ride and handles really well. I haven't encountered snow yet, but based off of yearly reviews it's always top rated. I just purchased my first Subaru, a pre owned certified 2014 Subaru Legacy. The experience was great. After finding the car online I made an appointment with Valon who was extremely professional and polite. He let me test drive the car by myself, eliminating the constant nagging of sales people you get from other dealerships. I was very impressed and after a friendly pain free negotiation we came to an agreement and the deal was done. The day before I picked up the car I called him up and asked if they could install a remote starter. No problem at all. I would definitely recommend Colonial and especially Valon again.

I used the online pricing tool on the Colonial website when purchasing my Forester. My sales representative Christer, was responsive and responded to my e-mails immediately. There was no haggling. The first price given was what I found on the Kelly Blue book site as the fair market price. The amount given for my trade-in was fair as well. There was no need to go crazy shopping around. After finding a car through Colonial's online portal, their internet salesman Valon was nice enough to stay past store hours to show us the vehicle. After our test drive, we were ready to buy, however there were some parts of the vehicle that we felt needed to be improved in order to solidify this sale. We spoke with Gary to negotiate. After some back and forth, we left with a signed agreement that our requests would be taken care of. Although they are quite firm with their prices, Colonial's bottom-line is to ensure each customer leaves happy - and we did. When we came back to pick up the vehicle, it looked better than we had hoped! The paperwork was painless and we were quickly out on the road. I will definitely recommend Colonial Subaru.

This is the second Subaru i have purchased through Valon. The experience at this dealership is better than any other one i have ever been to. Mr. Gehrkens was extremely clear in answering my questions, which were many, and was very patient and good-natured during our transaction. There was a lot of work to do to get my insurance transferred from New York coverage to cover a car in CT, since I hadrecently moved to CT, and Mr. Gehrkens didn't let it get in the way of getting the new car to me quickly. He also volunteered to do asmuch of the work for me as he could, and suggested short-cuts in getting the new insurance squared away. I ended up with exactly the car I wanted (2015 metallic green Subaru Forester), which was in stock, and the whole process was much easier than I had expected it would be. My dogs like the new car too.

Some months back we were looking for a new car. The dealers really didn't seem interested in selling us a car so we pursued a car from another Subaru dealership instead. Fast forward to today, needed to get the car serviced and this was the closest dealership. The service center was rude and implying that we didn't try to fix the problem on our own first, didn't have any record of the loaner we specifically requested, and actually seemed to be bothered by the fact we didn't take it back to the dealership we bought the car from. Fine then guy, we will take it back there from now on and give them our business.

I was shopping for my next car and was fixated on the 2015 WRX CVT. Saw all the Youtube videos etc. and did my due diligence truecar, edmunds, kbb, etc. Colonial had the lowest quote and they had a 2015 WRX CVT Limited on the lot. Called Valon and setup a test drive that Saturday. When we arrived, met Valon and and he gave us the keys to the car and told us some general directions for a test drive and we were off. I had a 2011 GTI for a trade-in and they evaluated the car while I was on my test drive. Loved the car and went back home to check on prices. Ramsey Subaru through a ClubWRX.net buying program had the lowest price but they didn't offer what I thought the trade-in was worth. Long story short, Valon gave me the best price on the trade-in and slightly lowered his quote and he had the best deal, the $1200 difference for the trade-in which Ramsey did not want to meet made all the difference. Spoke to Valon and told him we had a deal. Did all the paperwork by email and text message and picked up the car the following Saturday. Noticed on Sunday there was a very slight scratch on the hood. Brought it back Monday, they took the car, buffed it out and brought it back. The process was seamless and very simpatico. Valon was a pleasure to deal with, no pressure, no hard sell and great price. I would highly recommend him.

From start to finish this could not have been easier. Valon is a "can do" guy, found me vehicle that was "nowhere" on the coast according to everyone else and did most of the work on the sale before I even got to the dealership. I got a good deal on my trade, was out in an hour and love my new Crosstrek! He called me on his day off and sent me pics of my vehicle as soon as it was on the lot. Most of all I never felt like anyone at Colonial Subaru was trying to "manage" me or pressure me. At every turn, Valon suggested something that made the deal easier. For instance I had an outside loan and he asked why I didn't just use Subaru so I didn't have to wait for the paperwork back and forth and the check to be over nighted. I said if they could match my interest rate then I'd go with them. In a few hours it was done and I was able to pick up my vehicle three days sooner than if I had stayed with the outside company. This was, of course, after all the numbers had been agreed upon for the price of the Crosstrek and the trade in on my truck (which I made money on). They made an offer on my truck before asking the payoff amount. I dealt with two Subaru dealerships before traveling an hour to Danbury to deal with Colonial. I found Valon by a stroke of luck when I was dissatisfied with the service I was getting at another dealer in New Jersey who were trying to push me into a vehicle I didn't want (and hard). Overall, I was told by three other dealers that to get the vehicle I wanted in the color I wanted with a manual transmission would be 12 weeks and I was in a time sensitive situation with my truck and had to get out of it before I had to spend a lot of money on brakes including calipers and rotors. From the time I contacted Colonial I was in my new Crosstrek within a week in the color I wanted. I emailed Valon today with a question about something on the car and he called me back within a few hours to help me. I have already recommended this dealership to three friends and assured them that it's worth the hour drive up to CT to deal with stand up people. Thank you Colonial Subaru and especially to Valon who is as interesting and genuine a person as he is resourceful and motivated.

I searched a very large area to find the exact model of Forester that I had settled on. By chance, I came upon Colonial Subaru who had the exact car I was looking for - actually they had 4, so I had to choose the color. Staff was so friendly, purchase was so easy, there was no pressure, and the price was the best I found ANYWHERE! A total package. Unfortunately, they are an hour away from me so I might get service closer to home when it's needed. The only glitch was the car was delivered with tire pressure that was about 20 pounds too high in all 4 tires and it took me a few days to get this fixed. Obviously, someone in prep overlooked the tires so you might want to watch for that. But I'm now a happy Subaru owner!

I had been looking for an Infinity G25X after having 5 Subaru's , I had driven the Infinity and was wowed by its comfort. The dealer I at which I did a test drive was not flexible at all on the price( by the way , was a thousand more than Joe was able to make a deal). So, I kept searching for a fair price. Joe's Company was a little reluctant at first to give me the bottom line taxes reg and all, but Joe did what he said and called me back within minutes.We agreed on the price and that I would come with a deposit and do a test drive. Joe was terrific and told me to go for a ride. After giving him a deposit, I called him on Sunday and he was not working and called me back. I told him we had both our cars sold and needed the Infinity as soon as I could get it. I said I was going to rent a car to get me by for a couple day and Joe very graciously offered me a loaner to save me some cash. He called me Monday and worked within our schedules to make this happen even up until 7:00 PM!Needless to say we are looking for another vehicle for my wife and Joe is tops on our list. Went to Colonial Subaru to check into the Forrester and Outback. We were checking to see which type of vehicle from which manufacturer best suited us. Through test drives and communication with various salesmen, we found the perfect vehicle for us. We ended up working with Joe Jowdy and ordering a 2014 Subaru Outback. We made a wonderful decision in working with Joe as he was very helpful in all aspects of the purchase process, from test drive through vehicle explanation upon delivery. Overall, this was a pretty painless process. We knew the car we wanted to buy and test drove two options. We negotiated and came to an agreed upon price. We were promised a full tank of gas but only got 3/4 tank. That was the only disappointment.

I walked in with my mother ready to buy a Forester in cash & although there were two salesmen at the entrance having a conversation & 11 employees in the showroom, NOT ONE of them greeted us. When I slowly walked through the front door & made eye contact with the two gentlemen & they didn't say a word, I assumed to continue walking. I then approached an employee to ask where I could find the sales dept., he pointed behind me & said,"Right behind you. You walked passed them." After going up to one of the salesmen to ask for help, our salesman was completely unorganized although claiming to have 25 years experience in the industry. He didn't have the keys to test drive the car although he took us outside in the cold to point at the cars he had. Maybe he didn't think we looked like we could buy a car? Well...I don't know. Anyway, after test driving three cars & sitting down, he fed us a few lines that made me realize, "this man really is full of it & does have experience in not respecting a woman's intelligence." With that we decided to think about it & left. AGAIN...no one saying,"bye/ anything". AMAZING! We checkout another dealership & had an extraordinary experience from beginning to end. Then I recv'd a call from Don, the salesman & when I shared my disappointment in the customer service experience, he became combative instead of apologetic. I hung up on him because I didn't need further disrespect from this establishment.

I was very unhappy with my experience at Colonial Subaru. I test drove a 2014 Crosstrek which I was very pleased with. After the drive, I sat down with Jon to talk numbers. I explained my situation to him that I was shopping around for the best deal. In which he then interrupted me asking me if I live in the area. I told him that I lived in the Danbury area, to which he justified his interrupting question by telling me "well we are the only dealer in the area. Unless you want to drive quite a distance to go to another Subaru dealership..." This right away started me off feeling uncomfortable. He asked me if I had received any other quotes from other dealerships, which I had, but I told him that I would prefer not to share them just yet and asked for him to make me an offer of what his best price would be. He then responded to me quite bluntly saying "I don't make offers." I found this quite unsettling and ridiculous. From that moment on I knew that this dealership was not getting my money. However, since they are a very high volume dealership, I wanted to see how their prices would match up against the offers that I already had. To be honest, Jon ended up giving me an estimated quote that was pretty fair, $200 above his invoice (so I was told, I'm not sure how valid the number he gave me for his invoice actually was). After he finally even gave me a price, I attempted to negotiate a bit to see if he could match the current offer I had, to which he said no, quite rudely I might add. All in all, I walked into Colonial Subaru wanting to spend money, but a very poor experience from Jon Jowdy caused me to walk out. Ultimately I ended up purchasing a 2014 crosstrek from a different dealership where I received EXCELLENT service and a significantly better deal than what Colonial offered me. I am not the type of person to write reviews about companies in which I have poor experiences at, but this one left me so infuriated that I felt the need to do so. I will be sure to tell all of my friends who are looking to buy a Subaru about my poor experience as well.

As a pediatric dentist who runs a large group practice, i know customer satisfaction, not only price is the name of the game.Mr. Ferris not only offered me the best price of any dealership in a fifty mile radius, but went above and beyond for my special order XT that was taking longer than anticipated. We were looking to replace my 10 yr old Forester with a car that gets better mileage. I knew I wanted to stay with a Subaru because I've had such good luck driving my 3 previous models. I contacted Reid through the Costo buying site email. He got back to me quickly and arranged test drives for the models I was interested in. No fuss, no muss & no pressure to buy. Reid emailed more info to me & a few weeks later we came back ready to buy an Impreza Limited. We talked a little more about what I wanted in the car. Talked price & trade in. I was ready to get my Impreza when Reid suggested the Crosstrek since it had all the things I wanted plus better ground clearance than the Impreza. Price was more than the Impreza but Reid got the price down to an acceptable difference. We ended up test driving & then buying the Crosstrek. The best part of the process was that he didn't have to go back & forth with a manager for approval of the deal. We were done in around an hour.Our experience with Colonial has been great all around from the service department to sales. The service dept has always made me feel welcome. They answer questions about what they did. They don't rush you into big ticket repairs. I've never felt like they recommended something I didn't need.This was my first sales experience at Colonial & I am very happy with it. Price was better than I expected for the Crosstrek. Test driving was easily arranged. Reid worked at getting me the car I needed not what he was trying to sell.Great dealership!

Reid cut to the chase and gave me a great deal on a great car. His follow-up was appropriate and not overly persistent (it is a major turnoff when a salesperson is constantly calling). He found the car with the specifications that I wanted, and the price was very competitive. The processing of the paperwork was expedited (on a Saturday, that is hard to do) so that the total time we spent at the dealership was just over one hour. I would purchase another car in the future from Reid Ferris at Colonial Subaru.

This whole experience was refreshing. Jason responded in a timely manner when we asked if the car was still available. Arrangements were made to come down for a test drive that weekend. We were greeted by a fellow coworker as Jason was running behind to meet with us. The coworker got everything going so we could take the car for the test drive. Upon our return we met with Jason and in what I feel was a short time frame he had an offer for us that we accepted. We picked up the car 3 days later and everything ran smoothly and we were out of there in less than an hour. They additional people we worked with brought to our attention things that we could do on the side as options and when we declined they did not push.

We purchased a new CrossTrek and traded in a very low milage car. Joe was able to nearly meet my price expectation and came forward with an offer that I could accept. This was all accomplished in less than an hour. We had already test drove their demo and they had a car in stock. My guess was htat the had enough inventory to nealry match anyone's request.From the time we agreed ot make the purchase all went as smooth as silk. Joe conpleted all the necessary paperwork and gave us a list of things that needed to happen between then and when we picked the car up. Title, payment, registration, etc. We left feeling very positive about the esperience.On the day of the pick up, Joe met us quickly and brought us out ot see the car for our final approval. From there it was off to complete the paperwork. There was no push for getting us to consider any additional items. From there Joe went to the car and went through the features. Even taking time to link up my phone with the car.At the end of the purchasing experience I will tell you that it was positve. I requested a bottom line price for a specific make and model via email from internet sales people at several dealerships located in my shopping area. I was looking to trade in my 2007 Subaru Outback for a new XV Crosstrek. I looked online at Colonial's website and they had the exact car I was looking for on their lot. I sent in a request for a price quote and received one quickly. I came in the next day for a test drive, and met with Reid Ferris. He was leaving for the day, as I arrived close to 7 PM. Reid was nice enough to stay so that I can test drive the car. I emailed Reid early the next morning and told him that I was going to bring in my Outback to be appraised, and that I wanted to move forward and purchase the 2013 Crosstrek. The purchase of this car was seamless. It was rather enjoyable. The staff that I met was very courteous, and willing to help and answer any questions that I had. Upon picking up my new car, Reid gave me the grand tour of the place, introducing me to the service department, and members of the parts department. This time around with Reid, he worrked very hard to make a deal wtih me, and when we reached an agreement, the deal was what he said it would be. He was there, professional, and had me out in no time at all. All deals should be done this way. I would go back to Reid for any future purchases from Subaru.

This was my third Subaru, all from Jim. The Outback seemed a good choice. If my rating was based on my experience with Jim., my salesperson, all the numbers would have been 5's. He was very helpful, letting me road test 2 vehicles, and very helpful in explaining the various features. I would highly recommend Jim as salesperson. My reason for 4's instead of 5's overall, was because of the pressure I felt to purchase an extended warranty after I declined at the start.

I bought a used Outback from Colonial Mazda and was very impressed with their openness about the car and the deal. No high pressure sales pitches, just plain old truth. I asked to have the car inspected before I test drove it, and not only did the dealership bring the car over to the service center for me, they took care of all of the adjustments that the service center recommended. ALL OF THEM. No double-talk or nonsense. My test drive was just that, A DRIVE. Patrick didn't talk my ear off about how the deal was going to work, or whether we had a deal at all.In the end, the price was very fair. At no point did I feel as though I was being taken advantage of or left without information. I am very satisfied with my experience and would suggest you take a look at Colonial Mazda/Subaru if you are in the market for a used car.
