My first contact with the business, I discovered that the sales person had put in a higher price. The contract had to be redone. Then the vehicle that I was assured was safe had brake problems, power steering problems and issues occurring one after the other. The dealership knew about the brake light and tried to pass it off as just a simple reset issue while knowing that the car was unsafe.

I needed to purchase a used car and didn't have alot to spend. Carlos put me in to a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser that I admired. There was a small snafu with the car a few days later but they made sure to make it right and took care of any small issues I wanted addressed at the same time. Just want to start with my car buying weekend it started in stuart and ended up in Ft. pierce at Commuter Cars, now i stopped at bunch of dealerships and met a lot of salesman that were rude and acted like they didn't want to be there.Then we pulled in to Commuter Cars and thought here we go again right! but not the case I was shown what i wanted and not what they wanted to sell me and i was treated like a human.My wife and i needed a truck so we test drove this really nice Dodge 2500 that was clean and actually had nice tires not like the others we seen that day needless to say that truck is sitting in my driveway and we love it.Thanks again Commuter Cars of Ft. pierce or a great deal on a really nice truck!

I bought my first car in 1968. Over the years I have dealt with many car dealers new and used. Commuter Cars is a step above any car dealer I dealt with. I recommend this dealer, Bobby Dopson and Mark Lamunion.. They go the extra mile to make the deal. The 2002 Ford F150 that I bought on Sat. 10/10/15 needed some minor repair. They said it would be taken care of Monday, it was and I took delivery of the truck Monday afternoon. They were up front with everything no hidden fees. If I ever need to buy another vehicle my first stop is Commuter Cars. They make buying a vehicle a very comfortable experience.

We just purchased a 2007 Dodge Ram from Commuter Cars. I started looking about 6 months ago with no luck finding the right truck for us. I went to Commuter Cars then, and almost purchased a Ford, but the deal just didn't feel right. We wanted a Dodge. Over the last 6 months our salesperson Austin, called us every few weeks to inform us about latest trucks they had available, until 2 weeks ago when he call us about our new Dodge Ram. Austin was the only salesman out of several new car and used car dealerships that followed up with us over the entire 6 months. He never gave up on finding us our perfect truck. We went to a lot of different car lots looking for a good used car before going to Commuter Cars in North Port St. Lucie, Fl & our experiences at the other lots were horrible!! Commuter Cars was very helpful & the people that work there are wonderful!! We purchased a Rav4 first & it did give us problems in less than 24 hours, but when we called up to let Mark know about the problem he got everything worked out immediately for us to bring it into the shop the next day. Come to find out the 2002 Rav4 that we purchased is known for transmission problems, so they had us go look at another car in place of the Rav4 with NO problems. We found another SUV that was a little more than the Rav4, but Mark worked with us, made some phone calls & was able to get us the vehicle at the same price!! WE COULD NOT BELIEVE THE DEAL HE GOT FOR US!! I would not go anywhere else to purchase a vehicle!! I'm just amazed at how honest Commuter Cars is, how they worked with us & gave us such an EXCELLENT deal!! Also while waiting at the dealership when they were looking at the Rav4 there were 2 other people that we spoke with & they had nothing but wonderful things to say about Commuter Cars as well. One guy even told us that he's already bought 5 cars from them & he wouldn't go anywhere else to purchase a vehicle.

I went to check out a vehicle that Commuter Cars had listed on Craigslist. When I got there the vehicle "was JUST sold" so I looked around and they showed me several other vehicles that they had on the lot. Some of the looked nice and good on the outside, on the inside.....totally different story, nail/screw holes through out, missing pieces of interior, glued on flooring (probably due to replacing molded/rusted flooring), things broken that "they didnt know about" and rust....lots and lots of rust, on the INSIDE of the vehicles! I started asking about all the rust, I wasnt even given the chance of bringing up the floods in Louisiana and they totally pulled it from my mind before I could even say anything about the possibility, which worried me right there. They "spiffy" up their cars in hopes that you wont look deep, check under the seats for rust, check all the lights on the insides, check the speakers (a few were missing in the vehicles!), look under the dash boards, check the radios.....CHECK THE VEHICLES! They are hoping that you wont notice these "small things" in hopes of making a quick sale on a vehicle that probably wouldnt sell otherwise. They do what they can to cover things up, after reading all these reviews I am happy that I trusted my gut. Something just didnt feel right and that's because it wasnt.

this a car dealer review!!! if this is inappropriate im sorry but i thought id give a review of how horribly i was treated today by COMMUTER CARS IN PORT SAINT LUCIE ! guy agrees to purchase my truck then he xxxxx up writes check for 3k more then he was suppose to i do the right thing and correct him he goes out to the truck and then renegs on the whole purchase meanwhile me selling the car to him ment i was already out $1500 because i put that as a hold for the car i wanted to purchase so there fore my deal was going to fall threw and money would be lost when i did the right thing and they completly went back on the agreement and then had the xxxxx to offer me 2500 less for then the agreed upon price after i saved him from a 3k mistake! never deal with commuter cars. ever the gmc dealer gave me top dollar for my truck actually 500 more then i was going to get need less to say these guys are crooked!

I'm not giving them a 1-star review because I don't know very much about the company. However, I contacted them to ask about the title and condition of a certain car. The man told me "clean carfax, nothing wrong with it." I did my own carfax check on the same vehicle to find a rebuilt title...So, he either lied to me or didn't take the time to look it up before he told me...In either case, I don't expect to buy from them now.

Was very impressed. Jason was our salesperson and he was very eager to help and was very nice. It was a Sunday and they were normally closed, but they opened since business had been good to see if anyone wanted to buy a car. Yep. We sure did. Doug was the manager, and he was very down to earth and very trustworthy. I am normally very skeptical, but after checking Carfax and having my mechanic look over the car, everything was in order. I HIGHLY SUGGEST THIS COMPANY. They seem to be the real deal. Buildings are not much to look at - but who cares! I am not there to buy the building anyway.

I came from out of state. The truck is leaking oil and antifreeze. They took a deposit and locked me in on a price then came back and told me the seats had cracks in them. They also quoted me 30k miles less then what was actually on it. After all that they couldn't even handle the paperwork right and I had to repay tax, title, and tag fees. Bottom line...do not buy from these guys out of state.

I have had problem after problem with the jeep I bought from them. The transmission went out after 3 weeks, the ac compressor is going bad, it doesn't always start the first time (they had it running when I arrived to see it), a bent rim, a horrible re-paint job (I drove 2 1/2 hours to see this jeep and when I arrived it was dark), the list goes on and on... Then, they forgot to send my tag out before it expired, then messed up overnighting it to me. Then, they didn't do something right filing with my insurance and had no problem blowing up my phone for weeks. After everything, I could've cared less about talking to them. (They would've only gotten all choice words building up from a month of owning the vehicle!!!)I am a 23 year old working student and this was my first time buying a vehicle on my own; and they knew that. I've felt taken advantage of in my entire experience with commuter cars. I could never recommend them to anyone.

I'm only 16 years old. I saved up for 3 summers mowing lawns to buy my first truck about three months ago. My dream was a 4x4 Ford Bronco. I went to four or five dealers, and everyone told me that i had to "come back with my mom and dad" if they were going to show me any cars. I was really getting down cause my mom and dad told me to go find the truck i liked, and that they would come back to help me buy it as soon as i found one. So on the the way home from school my bus passed by commuter cars. I notices a big green 4x4 Bronco out front with huge tires already on it! I knew i had to go check it out! I jumped off the bus, jumped on my bike, and race back to Commuter Cars as fast as i could. When I got there, Rob came out to ask if he could help me. I told him yes, I'd like to check out the Bronco. He said, " hold on a second while i go grab the keys. He came back, let me start it up, and rev it up! I fell in love with this Bronco! I told him i had a drivers permit, and that i wanted to drive it. He would not let me take on the road, but he did let me take it in the back field behind the store and try it out off road!! The 4wheel drive worked sweet!! He even let me rip it thru a mud hole! It was soooo cool. I told him id be back with my parents to work a deal out. I came back that nite with my dad. I was $600 short on being able to buy it. Rob told me that if I promised to send him a few more customers the he would discount the Bronco another $600 bucks for me! Ive sent 4 of my friends to him so far! I love my new Bronco. I drive it to school everyday now. My mom told me the best way for me to thank Rob Bernal was to write him a thank you letter, and a good review on line. Ive now done both. Thanks Again Rob! Hope i buy another truck from you in the future!Cole.

Needed a nice used car to get back and forth from work. A friend of mine that purchased a car from Jake 4 years ago recommended we go see him at commuter cars. What a great place to buy a nice commuter car. They had hundreds of cars to choose from. I ended up purchasing a 2003 Honda Civic LX with 120k miles. I saved over $2600 from what another dealer wanted for the same car. I told Jake Id like my mechanic to check it out first before we completed the paperwork. Not only did Jake tell me "No Problem", but he actually took the car to my mechanic for me, with no xtra charges!! My Mechanic recommended a few things be done, but nothing out of line for a 10year old car. So I purchased the car, and have put 9000 trouble free miles on it since. Nice people, No Dealer Fees, Nice cars, and lots of em! Thanks again Jake! I hope other people read my review, and come see you for their next car.

After purchasing a vehicle from Commuter Cars for $2250, it broke down 6 days later. My mechanic said the engine was shot and needed to be replaced. He quoted it at another $2200. Not only did it take over 30 days for Commuter Cars to give me my title and tag but they refused to give me my tag because they underestimated my tag and title fees. I currently owe them another $21.40. I filed with the Better Business Bureau against then and they informed me they received the letter but were not going to take ANY action in helping me in my situation. I filed the claim after I had contacted the dealership and tried to work out some sort of deal which they made blatantly clear that they could do absolutely nothing to help me out. When I received a phone call saying I had to come pay my fee and pick up my tag or they would return my tag to the DMV which would ultimately suspend my license (which it won't unless I default on my insurance which I haven't), I asked to speak to the owner. The owner called me back promptly to inform me that because I had filed with the BBB and apparently called the Sheriff's Department on the company (which I didn't but I will now), that they don't help "those kind of people". Needless to say, I hope they all rot in hell and if you have a chance to go anywhere else...hell, even if you don't have a chance to go anywhere else....GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I wouldn't even consider the employees or owners human.

I was just shopping but then I ran in to Rob Bernal.Mr.Bernal was so professional and respectful and cared about my needs, I'm a single mom of six and didn't have much money but he worked with me and talked to me about the down payment challenged program.All of there cars are sold as is which was clearly shown on my paper work but I never had a problem plus you do get what you pay for and I understand that.Commuter Cars has the best bargains on the treasure coast especialy for someone in a bind like I was.I would highly recommend Mr. Bernal and Commuter Cars to anyone I speak to and for my next purchase. I called Commuter Cars of Port St. Lucie, Florida, to inquire about a 1987 Toyota Land Cruiser they had advertised as being in "very good condition and very clean. . .and runs and drives very solid". The salesperson I spoke with, Jake Montgomery, personally vouched as having extensive knowledge of the vehicle. I specifically asked if there were any drivetrain leaks, was it in need of a tune-up, and had it been in an accident previously. Mr. Montgomery told me that there were no leaks, the engine ran like a top, it had not been in an accident and moreover, the body only had a few small surface rust spots. Based on Commuter Cars ad and Mr. Montgomery's description, I agreed to purchase the vehicle and have it shipped to me.When the vehicle arrived, the first thing I noticed was the interior was in shambles. The carpet was trashed, the tailgate cosmetic panel was missing, trash in the rear compartment area, and the interior quarter panels were half-on. After signing for the vehicle, I started it up and went to pull out into traffic. The vehicle stalled and I was almost broad-sided by oncoming traffic. I made it to the emergency lane. Gas tank was empty. Started it again and made it two blacks to the gas station. After filling the tank, I attempted to drive it home only to have it stall about 12 times in the 2.5 mile drive to my house.The next morning, I brought it to my automotive shop behind my house (it stalled two additional times in the 1 block drive) for inspection. After a few days, the owner of the shop called. He said he wanted to inform me first that he would not accept the vehicle for repair because the body was so badly rusted. Specifically, he said the vehicle was rusted from the inside out and beyond repair. He found holes in the rear floor panel, previous signs of repair, door jams and seals rusted, roof seals rusted, fender wells rusted, subframe rusted, tailgate rusted, etc.; he also couldn't get the engine to run properly and moreover, found leaks in both the transfer case and rear engine main seal. I also learned that the vehicle had been in two previous accidents.I called Commuter Cars of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and informed Mr. Montgomery of my findings. I asked for a refund and even offered to absorb the shipping costs. Mr. Montgomery informed me that because I bought the vehicle "As Is" that the vehicle is mine now and when I told him I would pursue legal action, Mr. Montgomery said, "Ha, good luck with that. Florida protects its dealers".I'm in the process of bring legal action against Commuter Cars of Port St. Lucie, Florida for misrepresentation & fraud, and it looks like it will be a lengthly process. My hope, in the meantime, is to warn potential buyers of the unprofessional and unethical practices used by Commuter Cars of Port St. Lucie and moreover, Mr. Jake Montgomery. Shane A. Schruff
