I dealt with the Service Department at Cortese. They were able to give me an appointment at short notice and they were so concerned about my waiting time that the mechanic worked through lunch to have me out by mid-afternoon. My 10-year-old car sounds nearly brand new which is much appreciated and the staff are just excellent.

If you receive this please don’t fall for it. They will give you a low low KBB and does not match when you do it yourself. Then they complain they cannot give you that 5k over because they will lose money. All it is false advertising at it’s finest. I know there are lawyers that love cases like this and I hope you will do something because I am tired of dealers who pull this off. Good luck will not recommend this dealer to my enemies.

My experience was the best service experience I have ever had in any dealership. I was having a problem with my power lift gate on my 2014 Ford Escape. Dave was amazing! He assisted us with the purchase of a pre-owned Ford Focus for our 17 year old daughter. He went above and beyond to make sure she was taken care of. He even assisted her with setting up her blue tooth service for her phone and explained everything on the dash, including the 911 emergency call button. After being in a bad car accident with a totalled car I needed to quickly get a new car.I went to Cortese to test drive a Fusion. I told the salesman that I had chronic back pain and could not walk far. He took me out to the car lot to find a Fusion I could sit in to see if it was comfortable. He made me walk around the lot as he tried to find a car with an unlocked door. After trying at least 7 cars to see if they were unlocked, I told him that I couldn't walk any further. After he continued to walk all over the lot trying to find an open car, he found one. I am tall and my knee was hitting the steering wheel. I asked him to show me how to adjust the wheel. He could not figure out he to do it. Then I did the test drive even though my knees continued to hit the wheel. When I started the car a warning went on saying it was almost out of fuel. When I told the salesman he said we could just drive around the parking lot. After my short drive he told me to back it up back into the tight spot. I told him I was not used to a car this big and was uncomfortable backing it up. He told me that it was easy and I could do it. I felt like I was on a driver's test. I went to several dealerships in my search. All drove the car up to the front door and yes the steering wheel is easily adjustable. Going to Cortese was a huge waste of time.

I visited Cortese Ford on April 20, 2016 to view an F-150 I had seen on their website and was interested in buying. The salesperson came out to greet me as I was looking the vehicle over. The truck's appearance was great except for the aluminum wheels which needed repair. The salesperson said that it would be no problem to swap them out with a set of wheels from another F-150 on their lot. I subsequently agreed to purchase the vehicle on the strength of the salesperson's assurance that the wheels would be replaced. The salesperson drew up all the required paperwork as I sat waiting in his office and then took it all to his manager for approval. Upon his return from the manager's office I asked once again if the wheel issue was resolved and he said he hadn't brought it up yet with his manager. He did however make it a point to explain to me that they had put approximately $1,700 into repairing the vehicle to prepare it for sale. I asked the salesperson to inform his manager about the wheels and to get back to me later that day. The salesperson contacted me sometime later and said that manager was unwilling to repair the wheels because they had already invested $1,700 into the vehicle and their profit margin was too tight to incur any additional expense. I responded that any investment they made into the vehicle repairs was their cost of doing business and they should not hold it as leverage against me. I insisted that they should repair the wheels as the salesperson promised. They countered by offering to pay for half the repairs so long as I paid the other half. I declined that offer at which point they said they'd repair the wheels at their cost on the condition that I finance the vehicle purchase through the dealership so they could recoup some of their losses. Again I declined on principle since their salesperson had promised at the beginning to swap the wheels out with another set. At that point I cancelled the deal. Additionally, I felt they were pressuring me to accept less than they promised at every turn in the buying process. I will not under any circumstances return to Cortese Ford.

We had the defective dual clutch assy. replaced in our'14 Focus that another Ford dealer(a new ford dealership that is based in the Buffalo area) said there was nothing wrong with it. Cortese's service department diagnosed it right the first time and repaired it.

Being that my car was not worth fixing, I was referred to a sales consultant (Bill Clifford). Bill made me feel very comfortable about the decision and was very helpful. When picking up my car I was not given a full tank of gas. They did not have the keys to my car for me and I have to go pick up the second set at a later time. They did not give me the owners manual. It seemed disorganized and inefficent.

On Saturday we went back and confirmed that I wanted to purchase the preowned-car I selected. The car was ready for "delivery" on Monday and I drove it home that evening. Everyone, especially Donna Spofford, sales consultant, was friendly and factual. There were absolutely no gimmicks, there was no misimformation or trickery, etc. It was clear-cut, and they worked WITH my budget. I had to stay within a VERY tight budget, since I'm currently paying my way through my graduate degree. She and the finance people worked to get me a great deal, with awesome financing and a low APR. It was well worth the hour plus ride from Lackawanna NY. I found the F250 with the exact options I needed through a web search of various window stickers of vehicles. It wasn't the most expensive vehicle but Chris Whaling and the rest of the Cortese staff treated me as if it was.They not only went an extra mile, they went many extra miles in many ways. Professional, courteous, etc. Buying a new or used vehicle is a big ticket, big event for people. They want to feel good and have satisfaction when completed. I worked for 28 years for Eastman Kodak. Prior to retirement I founded the 501(c)(3)nonprofit Electric Grand Prix Corp. to promote EV technology and this lead to my founding both the New York State Electric Automobile Association and also the Genesee Region Clean Cities Coalition, one of the NYS coalitions within the US DOE's Clean Cities program. In addition to working to promote hybrid electric vehicles I am going to work through Dan to recruit Cortese as a new member of the local Clean Cities coalition. When I was shopping for a truck I tried all my local Syracuse dealerships, I knew what I wanted, how much I could afford, and I knew I did not have a whole lot to trade in coupled with poor credit. The Syracuse dealerships would not even entertain a conversation. Update to the recall issue with the fuel injector Cortese damaged during ecoboost recall. A few months back before my fiance and I turned in the fleet vehicle the Escape stalled out with no power. Brought it to aanother Ford dealership, and we found out the fuel injector they messed up during recall was bent. Luckily it was a fleet vehicle, for we the car finally failed at 50k, so it was out of warranty. Thus, the fleet company paid for the repair. This shouldn't have happened. Thank God we have a new fleet Escape that will never touch Cortese's proper along with my personally owned Fords/Lincolns!!

I can't even explain with words how grateful we are; James (our salesman) should get an award for being the best customer service/sales person in NYS. This person was always there to answer any questions about our now new car (and when I say "always" I really mean it, we got his cellphone number and he was answering questions even after hours!!!), when we got to the dealer he was extremely helpful and patient. OMG what a wonderful experience.

I went looking to update my car, cortese caught my eye so i stopped in. Not surprised to being accosted at the front door, sat down they took my information, took a test drive and it went bad from there. The sales man would not budge on the advertised price, not one penny, but kept insisting i bring him a offer when i told him 3 times what my offer was!! i was so confused on there tactics when i just left, I'am going to stay away. NO sale over $1200.cash difference.

Brought my 2013 Escape 1.6 eco boost for recall. First, waited 2 hours for rental, when I had an appointment (this is my work car, and I was late on calls due to this). Second, when I got car back it started to missfire and check engine light came on (it was fine before I brought it there). Cortese said they forgot to put a fuel injector back on (recall was a computer issue). I don't know what they did to my escape, for now it keeps missfiring, but no check engine light. I'm glad this is a work vehicle and in 8 months it will be someone elses's problem. Stay away!

If you buy any new car from any Cortese dealership, you are charged an additional $499 for a weather-proofing clear-coat that is temporary. Below is part of a message from John Cortese himself regarding this charge. They did not tell me about this during the purchase of my vehicle and the sticker stating this was not present. "It has been our policy since the mid 90s to apply paint protection to all of our new vehicle inventory in order to protect the paint and finish from acid rain, bird droppings and tree sap. We have no idea as to how long a car will sit on the lot before purchase so we have viewed this as a viable solution. Due to costs related to the application we add an addendum sticker of $499 to the factory window sticker. This then changes the dealer list price by that same amount." -John Cortese

They tried to hike the price by $1800 on an 2011 F150 which I ordered with a $500 deposit & signed contract. Did purchase the vehicle at the correct price however, was stressed out on the day of purchase. Never again.
