This is a wonderful dealership. The sales people are friendly and the financial Lady (Barbara) is outstanding. All of them worked with me to get me the best deal I could get. Especially with the financing. The service department is also friendly and attentive. I got my 20k service and was nicely surprised in that it was done quickly, and that included fixing a broken light I did not even know was broken. They also have coffee, and clean bathrooms. :) Overall a nice place to go.

Went to buy a Jetta GLS years ago. Salesman at Curran (don't remember his name, some older guy) tried to offer me 8.9% financing for 60 months. Wouldn't accept the possibility that there were better rates available. My credit was sterling then, as it is now. So I left Curran, took a train to NJ and bought it from a different dealer at a reasonable interest rate.Fast-forward a few years, and I am using Curran for my service. (Which there was plenty of, since the car was unreliable; erratic warning lights, bad O2 sensors, new catalytic converters, sunroof drains that plug and flood the interior. Most of which was not under warranty.)I go in for an oil change early on a Saturday morning, and I wait while the work is being done. Because, its just an oil change, right? Why leave the car overnight for an oil change?Well, apparently that's not the way the service staff viewed people who wait. When I go up to get the bill after the work is done, they hand me the receipt to sign, green paper that's still hot from the printer. I glance at the itemized charges: 6.x quarts of such and such oil, sure. Oil filter, ok. Then it said the seven-letter A-word, in all caps. 1 hour labor...Huh? What was that last one? That's right: the A-word, printed right on the bill (not handwritten).I ask the girl behind the counter about a problem with my charges, and let her read it. She freaks a little and tries to take the bill, but I hang onto it. I tell her to call the manager and not tell him why I'm asking for him. He reads it and also freaks a little bit. My oil change is free, not surprisingly. And I was in a good mood otherwise, so I didn't press the issue.But I never went back to Curran (because they actively discouraged my business, and don't respect their customers), and I sold that car and won't buy another VW.

They employees at Curran were extremely friendly and helpful. More then that they were not pushy. Nothing is worse then going to look for a car and someone expecting you do buy a car without going home and thinking it through.Barbara was a delight to work with. She went above and beyond to help us get the financing and we didn't need to go back and forth to the dealer. Once we made the decision to purchase a used 2011 Tiquan we did a lot of dealing on the phone which was great for busy people with full time jobs.Marco took us for the test drive and also gave us the final rundown on the car. He was professional and thorough, giving us the abbreviated version of owners manual without having to read it. Again a great way to buy a car without being at the dealership for hours.Overall it could not have been a more pleasant experience.

My Passat was in for its 50,000 mile service, plus a couple of other small things. Sean called in the morning to ask about a noise I had reported, telling me that they had taken the car for a drive and had not heard it (it's very sporadic). He called later to tell me that my rear brakes were going to need new pads very soon. I asked him to have that done while the car was there. And he called mid-afternoon to tell me that my car was ready. He was friendly, efficient and courteous, making my experience with Curran very positive.

I previously owned a 2003 Passat and was always very happy with the team in the Service Dept. When I decided to purchase a new car I knew Curran was the place to buy from. Sean in Sales worked with me for several months always updating me on special deals. He is very knowledgeable, patient and answered all my questions. The Service Dept did an outstanding job of servicing my 2003 Passat, always informing me of their findings, the cost and allowing me to make the decision on the repairs that may have been needed as well as explaining the problem. I just went in for my Courtsey New Car Inspection and was pleasantly surprised to see that they "Washed" my car. Curran definitely gives outstanding Service in all their Dept's with well trained and couteous employeesworking for them.

Walked in a few minutes after 8 and was greeted by a friendly technician who explained what they were going to do to the car (10k mile service) and how long it would be. He gave me an update near the end and then I got my car within the expected time. Car is cleaning and running well. Nice job Curran!

Brought my 2013 VW Passat TDI sel premium in for a problem. Dealt with service representative Danny Baio.He brought my car in right away for diagnosis. As soon as the problem was known,he got me in to a loaner car,and explained the problem,and that everything was on warranty. When the vehicle was repaired,Danny called me to let me know my car was ready. My car was washed,waxed and completely detailed inside and out to showroom condition. It doesn't get better than that !! Danny is a top notch service representative and an asset to Curran Volkswagen and a pleasure to deal with. Very highly recommended!

I purchased a used Jetta for my son at another dealer. One of the keys was not programmed to the car and shut down the engine. It was the responsibility of our dealer to advise Curran that we were coming in to have this repair handled. When I got to the service dept, the dealer we bought the car from had not contacted them to advise we were coming in. Curran fixed the car and still did not charge me. They advised that they would work it out with the dealer. I was pleasantly surprised at the trust that was given to me - especially since they had never met or worked with me. I would definitely recommend Curran to anyone that was interested in purchasing a Jetta.

This dealership is slightly above-average the sales department is either hit or miss like all dealership sales departments depending upon the sales person you work with the service department on the other hand is excellent. Their parts department and repair customer service has always bin a above my expectations. My car is serviced properly and quickly. I purchased and serviced my Routan at Montessi for two years without ever having a single good experience. My company relocated to Shelton so I switched to Curran. My daughter and I were pleasantly surprised during our shopping trip for a car at Curran Volkswagen. No sooner did we walk into the showroom, Eric, a salesperson greeted us. From the start, he was a likable guy. He presented as honest, sincere and an all around great guy. He understood exactly what we wanted and the terms in which we were interested. At no time were we made to feel out of place or uncomfortable because my daughter and I were shopping without the benefit of having a man with us. Eric was more than thorough and his knowledge of the various cars was very impressive. First of all we have a very good history with Volkswagons. Your dealership is close to where we live so we opted to try Curran for this purchase. Marshall Hart was a great salesman. He worked with us, answered EVERY question we threw at him and also was patient as our first visit to the dealership was last September. Along the way, he always let us know about promotions and sent us a monthly email check up to see where we were in the process. We appreciated the calls made on his behalf from Jim Curran when Marshall was out sick. I usually only read bad reviews regarding car dealerships but having just purchased a used Jetta from Curran VW I can easily state that this is a car dealership that was honest and straightforward during the entire process. Brought my 2012 Eos in for 10,000 mile service. Dropped it off 6am which was very convenient for me. Got a text message when it was finished. Also convenient !! When I went to pick my car up the services that were done were explained to me as were the problems I had asked to have addressed. Best thing was everything was included and it cost me nothing!!!

It took over a year to finalize a new car purchase. During this time I worked with two reps at Curran (unfortunately one moved on part way through the process) who were most helpful. I needed a car that offered excellent gas mileage with space to handle my kids and their gear. Mike was most patient while I worked out in my own mind what would be the best option for me finally settling on the Jetta Sportwagon.

I came in with the intentions of purchasing a new vehicle. When it turned out that leasing was a better match for me, I became extremly nervous having never leased a vehicle before. Chris was more than helpful in explaining every minor detail and answering all of my questions very thoroughly. He made the whole process very comfortable and I left with nothing unanswered. His professionalism extended through every step of the process, down to showing me every tiny detail of my new car (although it was a lot to take in and I put the user guides to good use after I got home). Barbara was also absolutely wonderful to work with. I've been bum rushed through financing paperwork in the past, and even though she had a full schedule of pick-ups that day she took the time to explain everything to me and make sure I fully understood all of the documents.I will definitely be returning and have already recommended your dealership to a couple of friend.

What started out as a typical scheduled maintenance grew to an opportunity to have the foggy glazed headlights cleared up.Saw the advertisement card in the service lobby that headlight lenses could be restored and asked to have it done at the same time as the next schedule.Clear, clear bright lenses on a 2004 passat. My 2002 Passat was being serviced to replace the right cv joint and an oil change. Frank in service was very professional, experienced, prompt and processed my car during arrival quickly, all the while explaining what he was doing. He checked for recalls on my car first and confirmed no recalls, then went further to process paperwork for the service. I asked if my car could be ready for 3pm, he said yes, and it was ready at 2:20! I picked up my car and was very happy with the way it drove. The clattering noise from the right cv joint was gone and the whole front end felt really solid and good! Oil change as well. All is good and I'm very happy! Everyone in service at Curran VW is very professional and friendly!! Never had a problem with servicing my Passat there! Very happy!

I brought my car in at 7:30am on Thursday and I worked with Danny. He was very pleasant and helpful. My Jetta 2011 was in for 20,000 mile checkup. I asked him if I could have the car back by noon and he said no problem. He called me at 11:15am and the car was ready to be picked up. He explained what was done and when I have to come back for the next service. He got my car and drove it to the door for me. I had a couple of questions on how to use some of the instruments in the car. It was a real pleasure working with him. He is a real asset to your service department. I would definitely deal with him the next time. Thanks for a good experience.

So I went to get my recalled catalytic converter fix. They said they could not fix it because there were other issues with the heating exhaust sensor and two spark plugs. They wanted $400 dollars for changing the sensor and $150 to change the two spark plugs. Now i do not know anything about the sensor, but $150 for spark plugs? I asked and Sean my service person continued to insult my intelligence by telling me "yes these are VW spark plugs we are putting in and they run & $70 dollars a spark plug. Yeah I am that stupid!So I asked him to then fix the catalytic converter without the fixing the other stuff, just so that I could pass my emissions test. He said no problem it would run you about $950. Well how can they justify that when the Catalytic C. runs $250 everywhere else. So I made their dream come true and I said "how about a certified used car and you take my old Jetta. This way you fix it and make some money and I can take a newer car. So Sean thought that was a great idea and sent me to his brother. His brother worked out some numbers for me. He said he would have me drive away on a 2007 Jetta for 14,000.00 and he would give me 2500 for my 2002 Jetta. Well how in the world those that makes sense?!!!!!! My car is 10 years old, and is falling apart like most Jettas after 10 years. The new Jetta compatible to what I have runs about 18,000.00. How stupid do they think I am. I am going to walk away with a 5 year old Jetta at 3000 less than what the new one costs. PLEASE! Last time I buy a VW.

I got a price I was happy with, got the car I ordered. It actually came earlier than predicted. I was happy with the whole process.

Jim Curran and his team are outstanding, caring and very reasonable salespeople. My wife and I arrived at 2:30 Pm on Saturday to buy a CC and were given an amazing top to bottom orientation to the car, a nice test drive by Jeff. Jim Curran personally gave us a full review of reasonable financing options. I live in Westport CT and Jim Curran has a great reputation in our town. After leaving the dealership, we picked up some wine from a local merchant and mentioned Curran VW and he RAVED about the great service. Jim Curran would personally pick up his car and drive it the 20 minutes to the dealer and back for the repair. Jim offered us the same service. This is a great dealership and I believe many of these reviews are unfair and bias. Go to Curran VW and smile... you are in good hands with highly skilled people.

Visited dealer at 7:30PM when advertised(internet/on the door) hours were until 8:00PM. Given the bum's rush by on duty manager saying there was no time for test drive nor could he give me pricing. Completely arrogant and dismissive behavior was uncalled for and unprofessional. He had no regard for the time our family had invested in coming back to his dealership. I had all the paperwork with me to purchase a vehicle on the spot. But if this is how they treat customers before you buy a car, I can't imagine how badly I would be treated once they had my cash in hand.I will say the original saleman, Lou Bove, was a pleasure to work with and the reason I went back. Too bad Lou didn't marry into the family instead of Tom.

The estimate they gave me is NOT what they charged. I approved $250, they charged $900. When I questioned the bill, they refused to accept responsibilty. They put a lien onthe car & locked it up. I had two options, pay for it in full (in cash) or they would take the new part out and I would STILL be responsible for $600 of labor. I paid under duress because I needed my car back, but I was forced into a repair under false pretenses. I tried to negotiate #450 because I walked away with a repaired car, but it was a repair I would have NEVER approved. But they refused. Beware if you use them for servicing. Get it all in writing so you do not get scammed.

Curran Volkswagen has horrible service. They had my car for 5 days and could not figure out what the problem was. They tried to charge me $500 to diagnose the issue because the mechanic staff could not figure it out. They didn't recall my bringing the car in two weeks previous, to get the problem diagnosed. They had to dig through my glove compartment for them to recall that event. They will rip you off. Do not get your car serviced here unless you like giving your money away. I was told by Dennis, the customer rep., that he has other cars there, and mine is NOT the only one there. I should have taken my car right after that statement was made. Horrible service and incomptetent staff of mechanics. I will never go there again!
