I hate to do this because I thought I had a great experience. The salesman who got me approved was awesome, but past that it’s been terrible. The car that I was sold has had problems since about a day and a half after I left with it. Mind you, it is a used car.. but I completely believe check engine lights were simply reset before being sold. The check engine light popped up right about a day and a half after I brought it home. Had the code read.. was told it was likely a faulty gas cap. Replaced that. Issue remained. Called the dealership because I was sold a warranty which was rolled into my purchase price.. only to be told I would have to pay over $100 just to have it looked at. So I had the other piece replaced that could have possibly been the culprit. Check engine light went off for a couple days and then came back on. Shortly after I found out the water pump was faulty. Again was told it would be $100 just to have it looked at. So what was the point of this warranty if I can’t even use it?! Since then it has been one problem after another. Also, the day I got it home we realized there were issues with two of the tires they claimed to be brand new. One had a knot, and the other had a decent size chunk missing from the side of it.

My last experience with a car dealership was not a pleasant one, so I was leary about this, but my experience at Don Wood was everything the last one wasn't. I was acknowledged quickly and the salesperson, Jeff, was friendly and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and thoroughly explained the buying process as we went through it. The woman who did the financial paperwork seemed as excited about my purchase as I was. She explained all my options and let me make the decision that was best for me. Definitely a pleasant experience. Very impressed.

I purchased a used car here and had a very good experience. I found Don Wood online because of their large online listing inventory with many photos and good prices. I drove 2 hours from Charleston, WV to deal with them because their listing prices were generally 10-15% below local listings for similar cars. Drove away with a great car at below blue book value. I have some credit issues, and with a decent down payment they were able to find me financing at the low-end of my expected interest rate bracket. They sell a decent number of cars to West Virginians, so they even handle WV tax and tags themselves like they would for an Ohio resident.I already had an idea what I wanted due to their online listings, so in about 3 hours I looked at cars, took a test drive, had (problematic) financing secured, signed papers and was driving away in a very good condition, low mileage, few year old car. Overall, a great car buying experience. I would recommend to friends or anyone.

Tried to order parts for an old Toyota door assembly. Gave sales person the VIN number and description of product that was needed. Upon receipt the product did not fit the door assembly. In fact, there was no product even similar to the part that was shipped in our door assembly. We tried to contact someone for a return but only had 5 days per the receipt to return the item. After mailing off the item they called back and said it was not returnable even though it was a stock item and did not fit our vehicle. I informed them we had already sent it back to be in the five day window and their answer was too bad. I guess we are out the $86.00. I would not recommend buying parts from this dealer as they are very difficult to deal with if you receive the wrong part (even when the sales person looked up the asked for part).

Mike was an honest, upfront guy and I was a very happy customer when I left. Buying a used car is one of those activities that stresses me out to no end. I hate the games and haggling and there was a little bit of that and I was afraid I was going to be unhappy either way -- give in and feel cheated, or leave without the car I had fallen in love with. In the end it turned out well because Mike's honesty about a few faults in the vehicle and his willingness to take the price down because of them was the deciding factor for me.I have all ready told several people about the great experience and I will comfortable going there again when I need another vehicle.

Cody Bail made my car-shopping experiences a great one. Right off the bat he was kind, professional, and helpful. He helped me pick out the perfect car to fit my needs without being impatient or greedy at all. He was honest with me, and explained to me that the original car I wanted wouldn't be good for my needs long-term, even though he could've just made an easy sale. Instead, he went above and beyond to help me get the perfect car, even providing a temporary car for me while I was unable to drive throughout the process, repairing the things on it that I wanted fixed before selling it to me, contacting me after the sale was made just to make sure I was satisfied with the car still, and he even DROVE to my workplace to hand-deliver me an extra set of keys he found in his office. In conclusion, cody is an intensely customer-oriented salesman who knows his job inside and out, and made me (and many other friends of mine) leave the lot smiling and satisfied. Chris is another dedicated professional, always putting the customer first from my experiences with them both. Within the first week we bought the car, we realized there had been a My Auto setting on the car which limited speed and volume. If you're a woman, you've probably been to a dealership and felt like salesman are looking through you to your husband or significant other when buying a car because let's face it they're the "man" and therefore they make all the decisions right? Wrong! Cody Bail treated me like I was the customer even though my husband was with me. He looked me in the eye and talked to me as I was the one buying the car and not my husband. What a great feeling! Cody's not the type to pressure you into making a purchase and will work with you to get you a great deal as well as helping you to make a smart purchase. I was on the fence about leasing a car and Cody walked me through the process and answered every question I had with ease. I've never walked away from a car purchase knowing that I'd be back to work with same salesman until I worked with Cody. He's personable and really puts the customer first even though selling you a car is the goal, he doesn't make you feel like a potential sale. I would recommend Cody to friends and family and that says so much about the type of experience I had working with him.

Had been looking at cars for several hours. Cody approached us on the lot and we told him what we were looking for. He showed us two models, both of which we drove. We really like the Dodge Journey and decided we wanted to buy it. I didn't intend to finance outside my own credit union... have purchased a number of cars through them, but Cody found us a much better deal and he worked with us to make it an easy process and helped us to get the things we needed.... There was no owners manual in the car, but he sent us a pdf of the same and that has been helpful. I recommend him to anyone looking. The finance girl was fun to work with also... and the process went quickly. No pressure was appreciated. This is my second purchase from Don Wood. The previous deal was not so comfortable and when I came to see my salesmen a week or so later he didn't know who I was and didn't remember some of the things he told me. Cody was a fine salesman and was very prompt and attentive. The finance lady was very nice as well. I will not go back to the dealership though as I was told that they would not come down even one dollar on the asking price for a 1998 4Runner that they had fortunately acquired. Also, I drove 230 miles one way to look at it and it was questionable that they would even give us enough gas to get home. (They finally did). Even though service washed and detailed the car, it was obvious when I got home that they REALLY didn't check it out mechanically while they had it. The air pressures were all wrong, it was low on oil, the air filter was old and needed replacing. It was in great condition when they got it, so I think they just assumed it was ok?? The NADA book in great condition was about $700 less than what they were asking so it was inflated as they knew that they could get it so they would not come off of the price. Will not buy there again. Sorry! No reflection on the salesman though!

Walked in just to look. Test drove one vehicle that I ended up not wanting. Cody was very understanding and wasn't pressuring into selling the vehicle i didn't want. I actually Found my truck that I ended up buying at the ford dealership. We purchased a 2013 Rav4 in 8/2013 and had such a good experience dealing with Cody that when my elderly mother needed a car we contacted Cody to help us with her purchase. Cody could not have been more helpful and patient with our search for Mom's car. He helped us look through the used stock available and made sure all our questions and concerns were answered ahead of actually bringing Mom to the dealership. Cody bail at don wood was the only salesman out of the 10+ other dealerships I visited that actually even noticed our existence. He was very friendly and more helpful then I think he realizes. I had no idea what vehicle I was interested in and Cody allowed us to test drive all the vehicles that we showed interest in all to make sure that we got the right vehicle. After it was all said and done we are the proud owners of a 2012 ford focus with every option we could ever need at the best price I could find anywhere. My wife is due for a new vehicle in the next few years and we will definitely return to don wood toyota. It may even be sooner then we planned. We walked in 5 minutes before closing, not realizing it, on a Friday night and Cody was more than happy to show me the car I was interested in and let me take it for a test drive. He worked with me on financing and stayed late while I did the paperwork to buy the car and take it home. I LOVE my new car. Cody treated us great.

I am looking for a unique used Toyota Tundra or a brand new SR 4x4, I contacted via email about a interesting truck and basically got an email back saying they still had truck, But essentially they were out of town or unavailable to do anything at the moment. Something to that effect. I did receive a couple weak emails after that didn't really answer my questions. Then once I read the carfax and saw a disabling accident had occurred to the truck I lost interest in working with so little communication etc. Also the pictures were somewhat vague and the drivers door appeared damaged by the ash tray/cubby like a smoker owned the truck. I didn't see anything listed if smoked in or not.

My husband and I have been looking for a "new" family-and-winter-friendly car for about a year. He did the online searches and came up with some used Subarus on Don Wood's website. He emailed and spoke with Cody Bail and we set up an appointment to look at them on Saturday morning. Both vehicles were very clean and reasonably priced. I test drove both and went with my gut...the one that I liked the best online (2010 Subaru Impreza Hatchback) was the one I liked the best in person! We were able to take care of everything in one swoop: the test drive, the financing, the paperwork...and we were able to drive away with our new car the same day! The whole visit took about four hours, which I don't think was a bad amount of time at all! Cody was wonderful to work with! He was polite, personable, and very knowledgeable. I'd recommend him and this dealership to anyone!

I found the vehicle I wanted to purchase on autotrader. I called and wanted to know if it was still available. Cody Bail answered and thank goodness he did. The vehicle I wanted he thought had been sold but it was still on the lot. He said he would dig a little further on it and get right back with me. Ten minutes later he called and guess what it wasn't sold! Great new for me. When I arrived at the car lot Cody was the first person to greet us. He had the Equinox I was interested in already warmed up and running for us. Thank goodness because it was only 10 degrees that day! After the test drive we started the dreaded negotiations. We went back and forth a little bit but Cody always seemed to be on our side. Very pleasant car buying experience.

I recently bought a 2006 Toyota Solara here and the process was easy. I was shopping around for a place that would take a motorcycle in on trade because it was getting cold out and i needed a car. I stopped there to look around while on the way farther north while a buddy was looking for a car, ended up test driving the solar and checking with my credit union when i got back to Parkersburg, went back with the motorcycle the next day and drove off the lot, I've had the car for about 2 months now and i love it, definitely would go back and i will and have referred friends and coworkers to the dealer. ignore the bad reviews and check them out for yourself. Cody was great to work with and made the process easy.

I waited until the last minute to buy a car because I usually detest the experience. I decided to try Don Wood since I work with so many satisfied customers of their Athens store. I was so happy that Cody made the experience painless! The best part was how patient he was. I think I left and came back at least three or four times before settling on a car I love. No one ever true to push me to make a decision, and there wasn't too much of that "Let me check with my manager" business. Cody stayed in touch with me without being pushy, and he has followed up at least twice since I bought the car to make sure everything was going smoothly. I would definitely consider buying a car there I the future. I usually scour CraigsList and Autotrader, but buying local turned out to be a whe lot easier!

I had about a month long back and forth email with a Toyota salesman, Cody Bail, who turned out to be wonderful in his patience, knowledge and helpfulness. I picked out three cars online, and when I went in to finally test drive last weekend, Cody knew where they were and I test drove two of them. No need to drive the third. Turned out my second choice (online) was my first choice, and Cody was very helpful in getting the sale done. My husband and I went in on a Saturday, got to take the car home and are now waiting to finalize the title. I love the car, the salesman was great, and I have nothing but good things to say about Don Wood. I was very impressed with my salesperson, who really went above and beyond in trying to put me in the car I wanted. As far as their facilities, it's a car dealership, so nothing fancy was expected. However, if I could give Cody Bail 10 stars, I'd do it. There was one minor repair that needed done that was taken care of immediately. I love the car, it was a grueling (as buying a car always is) experience, but it turned out to be a great one. I'd buy at Don Wood again. And thanks, Cody, for your patience and assistance.

Chris Sims was very helpful, answered every question I had regarding the vehicle and was very thorough when explaining the gadgets inside. Unlike everyone else on here i have nothing good to say for your lot, I was interested in a vehicle and had the money to pay full price on the spot. I was told the vehicle was sold, it then was removed from the website and sat in the same place for a week, another week goes by the vehicle is listed online again but for 1500$ more than the orginal price, then im told the vehicle cannot be sold because it isn't able to be driven dude to needing tire's and a front end part, but they would call me back as soon as they found out if it could be sold as is or if i had to wait until repairs were done. So today i wait on a call back from your lot in regard's to the vehicle and im told it is sold once again? now come on. That's impossible considering the fact that saturday im told it can't be sold now on a monday at 9:30am it's sold? Not only did i wait around 2 week's for answer's this happened to me with another truck a dealer said a guy in the garage was purchasing. Now that truck is also re-listed on the website and the price was also changed. I requested to speak to jeff about the problem because a dealer told me that was who i should go to, But instead im directed to a woman who would continuously cut me off in the middle of talking and avoid my question of talking to jeff about the problem. I was under the assumption you guy's were a " fast, fun, stress-free, no hassle shopping experience" seeing's how that is jeff's slogan for the car lot. I hate to stoop to this level and bash your lot to the public but there is no reason to be treated the way i was, nor lied to by your salesmen. I will say one thing i appreciate Jay blake, has been the only one at your lot to try and help me out with the problem since Jeff could not take a call from a customer, with this being said never again will i consider spending my money with your lot, and i will take into consideration of sending a story into the newspaper about how you truly treat your customers.

This is the most unfriendly, untimely dealership I have ever dealt with. The salesman that I emailed when I found the vehicle I wanted didn't respond to me for 4 days. So my husband and I took the trip to Athens to look at the car and no one even came out on the lot to see if we needed any help! Then when we entered their business, the salesman that had originally received my email said he had just got it....but he had responded automatically to my request twice! To top it all off, the offered me $10,000 for my car....it black books at $17,450!! The salesman didn't even try to negotiate with us or his manager. Don't even bother going...the other salesman were either playing on their phones or on the Internet!

Brent, the manager, dealt with us directly. He found us rebates we didn't even know we're available and gave us more than we expected for our trade in. Great dealership! Great people! Went in to just look while doing some shopping in the Athens area. The first thing I seen that I liked was of course the smiling faces of both staff members and the customers. The staff welcomed me with a warm greeting and asked if I needed any help. Of course just being there to look I didn't need any help. They didn't push me into trying their latest greatest "toy" that I couldn't afford. Once I found what I wanted to get more information about a salesman by the name of Cody Davidson helped me to his best ability. He gave me the keys for what I thought was just going to be a quick test drive but turned out to be a weekend test drive. After falling in love with the vehicle we did some figuring on the monthly payments and I was not liking it but after he did some talking with supervisors he got the payments to where I was happy. I got all the questions answered that I had And in the end I was extremely satisfied with the overall sale.

I have recently purchased a vehicle from don wood Toyota and I have to say that overall my entire experience with this dealership was great! I came in with the feeling that I was going to be faced with every other experience I have ever dealt with in a dealership, and I was surprised! I was never forced into anything when I was at the dealership! They let me have the test drive for the evening since it was very close to closing when I showed up! When I came back in the following morning, the consultant really had his ducks in a row for me! He had all the information he could possibly dig up on the vehicle. I showed them my trade and they gave me a very reasonable trade for my vehicle and helped me out in the best way possible! Once I decided on buying, my time with the dealership was quick, efficient but thorough! When I left the dealership that afternoon, I was 100% satisfied with what I bought! So all in all, I would without a doubt recommend anyone to visit this dealership! Don Wood Automotive is a prime example of friendly, caring service! I will definitely buy all of my vehicles from them from here on out!!

While in the market to buy a new car I found one I thought I would like after talking with the nice salesman about my old car and what I was looking at he assured me I would like the one that caught my eye. I have always been told not to get the first car I looked at but he handed me the keys and told me to take the car for the weekend. Once the three days were up I took back the car and told them I fell in love with it but the price was just too high for monthly payments. After a couple minutes of talking with the staff we got the payments right where I wanted them. I now own a wonderful reliable vehicle after an effortless experience. My questions were answered and if the staff was unsure of how to answer or wasn't 100% sure they did some research to give me a 100% correct answer and I respect that very much. I would recommend this dealership to anyone I know. And I thank them for the experience I had

I just bought a used truck from this dealer. I felt as if they would tell me anything just to sell the truck. I found the story that the fed me was not true. I was told that the vehicle had been detailed, it had not. I was told that the vehicle was a "non-smokers", it was. I found ashes all over and it smelled of smoke. I was told that the tires were good. When I showed up I found them to be at the legal limit and dry rotted with sidewall damage. I was told that the truck had never been in an accident, per the Carfax report it had been. I was told that this truck was in perfect running order. It did not make the trip home before it broke down and left me stranded. The trans started skipping after 100 miles or so. It did drive well on the test drive though? I bought the truck, because it is what I was looking for and I feel as though I had the real story before I asked most of my questions. I was disappointed with the dealer?s answers! I will not use this dealer in the future. This is a shame; I still would have bought this truck if they had told the truth.

Since the day financing was secured I have had nothing but trouble. They have terminated my financing (according to the loan company) sent me letters telling me to return my vehicle. So i was upset about that but when i called the local guy he said no everything is OK I'm taking care of it. After 30 days i didn't have a title i was told to go to BMV and purchase another one so i did. a couple weeks later i was told i need to stop by and pay my first payment to them, so i did. Then I realize my second 30 day tag is about to run out, so i stop at dealership again. Guy there called the don wood title people they did not know the deal was ever done, so i didn't have tags for 2 days on my vehicle. Today i received a letter saying they have not received my check for my first payment (that cleared over a week and half ago) and that it needs to be made by the 10th of this month or it will collect interest. Bad thing is the letter is dated the 12th so if i didn't already pay, it would be at least 3 days late.

He has greated me warmly every time he has seen me in Don Wood. Before I stepped foot onto the Don Wood Toyota Dealership, I was avoided and mistreated when I was on another lot down the street. Erik took great care of my concerns from the beginning. He was pleasant, honest, and knowledgable. He still answers my questions when I come in. I am a college student without much income or knowledge of the car business. I was more than a little nervous when I went to the dealership. When I got there I was met by the nicest salesman who answered all of my questions and even suggested some things that I hadn't thought of. The only thing I knew for sure when I got there was that my car had just died. The salesman helped me figure out a way for me to get into a car for my internships, and I also have a car that is under warranty for the entire time that I am paying for it. Scion gave me $1,000 toward my downpayment because I'm in Grad School. I got into a new Scion xD lease for a payment that even my father approved of. My father has always been the one to get our cars for the family.) Even better, the xD came with 2 years of free maintenance. I went into the dealership expecting to leave empty handed, or with a used car that my dad would have to co sign for. I left with the greatest gift ever. I stopped there twice, once to look at a new Scion tc that was sitting outside. No one came out of the dealership, but I was okay with that in that I was just looking. A week or two laterI decided to make the buy, and went to the dealership on a cold, snowy day, stood in the dealership for 15 minutes, looked at literature on the scion, looked at the colors available, went to the bathroom, etc, and but none of the salesman left their cubicles. Maybe they were so engrossed in their computers they did not see me, but I drove up out front in my 2005 tc, and was in the "sales area" the whole time. Later in the day I sent them an email expressing my frustration at not getting any assistance, but said I wanted to talk about the new tc parked out front, although I had reservations about working with such a lazy bunch. I guess that scared them because I never heard from anyone. Anyway, I left and went to Columbus to Scion West, where I had a great experience with Craig Wadding. My conclusion was that if they were not interested enough at Don Wood to sell me a car, they would not be interested in helping me after the sale, if I should need help.

They both said " no it runs fine and their shop checks everything out before they sell atvs "I received atv and it did not work from the minute I received it off the shipping pallet. There is not 1 mile more on the odometer than as shown on the ebay listing from seller Don Wood because I could not use it.There was 3 problems one it would not idle and would stall and two it had no speed over 18 mph and no take off power ( would not spin the tires on gravel even) I contacted seller and he said take it to a shop. The shop fix problem one and it was the carburetor. The next was a bad camshaft The last is burnt out headlightsThe second problem ( undetermined yet ) the seller said " You bought as is but we can give you a extra $100 dollars to end this" . I said no as I do not know if it will cost more than $100 to fix. He stated "thats all we are going to pay and thats it."My local repair shop here then traced the second problem. It was a camshaft that was very badly worn out . My local repair shop said " there was extensive long term wear on the camshaft and that there was now way any dealer would not have known it had problems as it was backfiring thought the carburetor and the the lifters were making a bad engine sound because the camshaft was worn out" . My repair center said it is obvious they new it was a bad atv and just unloaded it on you.I told Don Wood I do not expect a 6 month warranty but do expect it to run fine as he stated on the ebay listing and his word.When I first bought the atv I paid by Visa and sent them my ID ( drivers license and social insurance number ) and they registered it in my name. Then Don Wood phoned and said " we can not ship it to you being paid by Visa we have to have a certified check so you can not dispute the Visa charge because then they would be out the money " I thought this was odd but I just agreed and then I got them to let me pay by paypal and they credited my visa back and I paid by paypal .Now I know why they did not want to let me pay by Visa because it would have been easy for me to dispute the charge and Don Wood knew the atv was damage so they wanted to make sure I could not go back on them.I think its a shame a Dealer would scam people like this because they have a repair shop with train mechanics they obviously knew there was something wrong with this atv. I talked to another person who bought a atv from them on ebay and he caught them in a lie by checking his atv warranty repair history and Don Wood put some parts on it trying to fix the problem but they sold it broke to another ebay buyer.I have all emails as most of the conversation was through email. What I am claiming is for is the amount it will cost so the atv will run $1123.80
