My wife and I went to Doug Henry Chevrolet to purchase a 2015 Suburban. I called first and was given a better route to get there by one of the salesman since the area was flooded. On arriving I was pleasantly greeted and started checking on the vehicle I wanted. Lamar greeted me since Jared was with someone else and helped assist me with the process of getting familiar with the vehicle I wanted. Lamar also assisted with the test drive. After returning Jared was free and helped with the purchasing process and assisted me through the purchase of the vehicle. I was impressed with the attention we were given. Everyone was very nice and cordial and Jared did a very good job. Thanks for the help of getting the vehicle I wanted.

I have been searching for a Silverado for a few months now and have called and visited a few other dealerships advertising those specific trucks. Two dealerships that I went to were ok but just didn't have what i expected. One dealership that I called about a truck they were advertising on autotrader caused me to drive 40 min only to be closed when they said they were open and I will never purchase a truck from them, (Hendrick Chevrolet of Cary), not only because of that but several other reasons... they were a real let down. So I called Doug Henry and spoke to Loren Hamlin and told him that I was tired of driving out of town several times only to be let down and asked him if he thought they could get me into the truck I was looking for, for a certain payment and he did some research and said they could. I drove almost 2 hours to their dealership but it was worth the drive. They did what they said they would do on the phone and I got the truck I wanted for cheaper than anywhere else I have looked. The finance lady Elizabeth Jones went out of her way to help me get the lowest possible payment with an extended warranty! Lamar Blakeney also helped me when I arrived since Loren wasn't able to be there and he was very helpful. I didn't feel pressured, nor was I haggled, it honestly was one of the best car buying experiences I had and I hate the process of buying a car. So even if you have to drive a couple of hours to get there I would recommend it for the price and the customer service.

Jared was great. Two of my sisters had gotten a car with him so I have it a shot and I'm glad that I did. I went in and test drove a 2016 Cruze. Didn't like it as much as I thought I would so Jared let me try a 2016 Chevy Trax. Honestly, at first I thought he was crazy but I test drove it and fell in LOVE with it. Everyone else was awesome too. As soon as we got there they opened the door for us and catered to my 3 year old daughter. I'm very happy with the atmosphere, service, and vehicle!

I have always dreaded buying a vehicle. I do not like to deal with the typical pushy car sales person. I knew I wanted to surprise my husband with a Chevrolet Silverado and wanted to handle the pricing and car shipping on line. Very few car dealers were willing to do this. Most of the dealerships would not give me information on-line. They insisted that I come into the dealership and talk with them before they would give me any information. However, my experience with Doug Henry Chevrolet in Tarboro was nothing like my previous car buying experiences. My sales person, Jared Price, was very pleasant and spent a lot of time e-mailing me all the information I requested. He and I agreed to the pricing on all of the trucks I was interested in before I ever visited the dealership. Even when I visited the dealership Jared did not try to pressure me to buy a vehicle. Everyone that I talked with at Doug Henry Chevrolet treated me the same way. I also sold one of my vehicles to Doug Henry Chevrolet a few day after I bought the truck. That experience was pleasant also. No pressure and they gave me a fair price. I highly recommend that anyone looking for a used or new vehicle visit Doug Henry Chevrolet. Make sure you ask for Jared Price. He is a good guy and will do whatever he can to make sure you are satisfied!!

We recently purchased a 2015 used Chev Silverado from Doug Henry. Our salesperson, Phyllis Boyette went above and beyond to make sure we were getting what we wanted. It was a different experience than what we were used to dealing with. There was no pressure to purchase, and the "No Haggle" policy they have is great although it was hard to believe that we didn't have to go back and forth several times before reaching an agreement! The truck was a great deal compared to others we had looked at and in very good condition. I found a used truck like I wanted on a search site and made the drive to Tarboro from Kill Devil Hills to check it out. I was pleased to find this truck, but didn't expect to get an acceptable trade in offer. My sales associate, Phyllis, was very patient with me and explained their process very thoroughly. I was invited to ride with the gentleman who appraised my trade in. That gave me the opportunity to be a part of the process and to point out some important features with my trade. I went in knowing that they would stick to this "one simple price" theme but I did not consider my car (trade in) to be part of this ridiculous theme. I was shot way low on the value of my car. Now I know this is common for dealerships to do, but most will work with it and the offered price is merely the starting point for negotiations. I understand that this is a business to make the most money they can but with mark up and what I know they can sell my car for it was not a good deal for me by a long shot. I would definitely explore my options for other dealerships prior to visiting this establishment as I am sure you can get a better price with a business that will actually deal and negotiate with you.

I asked for an appointment and got a call the next day and they set me up for a test drive. Test drive was a great experience and I knew that I wanted the truck. I had a great experience with this group. I bought as a first time buyer with Billy Whitley, and he was awesome. Mind you this was two years ago.....Here I am two years later and the car was totaled by insurance when a man ran a red light AND I moved from NC to Arkansas. How does a dealership not have an Internet Sales Person in 2014? They refused to negotiate via email, insisting that I needed to come into the dealership. Their loss, I was prepared to walk in with a check for the settled upon price but instead they're still stuck in the time where you wasted your entire day in a dealership with slimy, dishonest sales people. Despite my frustrations, I gave them one final opportunity. The response I got was an email that from the sales manager that might as well have been written by my five year old. Will never recommend this dealership to anyone and will continue to share my experience.

This was my first major life purchase, and although there were a few hiccups the overall experience wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I came upon the dealership by happenstance through CraigsList. When I browsed their used inventory I was shocked to find they had the exact car I wanted (Chrystler 200) and a major bonus was it was the exact color I wanted as well, all at a great price. I dealt with Jared Price, and I must say he is an awesome guy! He is not only attentive and courteous, he makes you feel as though he is there to help you sincerely as well. My only gripe (and is probably partly due to this being new to me) is that it took FOREVER! Some of this again, due to my circumstance. I traveled to Tarboro twice in 2dys. The first day I spent almost 5hrs, toward the end while waiting for approval from the bank, all the active managers (necessary for this process) were called ino a meeting by the GM. I thought this was bad business on his part since we were trying to spend money at his establishment, but don't blame the staff. Bottom line: although I had to put down more than I initially planned, they fought and won to get me financed and a monthly payment in my range! So far, I am extremely pleased. Oh, and just a side note: do not try and use a debit card for downpayment. Take cash, REAL credit card or check.

I was trying to buy a new vehicle for the longest time and all companies would turn me down, with this I did had a small problem since the money I was giving down was only 2000 it would not got me the vehicle that I desired which was a 2014 chevy malibu, but after I double the amount I got approved for a 2013 chevy malibu with payments lower than what my limits where, overall they fought a battle for me to get me on the car that I wanted, now I am a owner of a 2013 chevy malibu and I love it and wouldn't have it any other way no matter what, as for the dealer I only have to say that the service is excellent, people here would see you like a person not a customer, I am more than satisfied with Doug Henry Chevrolet Tarboro and in a near by future I am really looking forward to comeback for another vehicle since I already now that I am being taking care of by some of the best in this business. My husband and I went to Doug Henry Ford in Tarboro, NC one week ago to look at a 2011 Ford Explorer. The sales team at that time came up with a number that we were not willing to pay. They were unwilling to negotiate and said this is the best price we can give. My husband and I left the dealership. The following Monday we received a call from the used car sales manager stating he wanted our business. My husband proceeded to talk to this man throughout the week, at least 4 times. Friday they came to a price, which both parties agreed on. My husband told them Friday morning that we were coming to get the car, and to have it cleaned and ready to go. We both had to work everyday and were unable to drive an hour to get to the dealership to sign the papers before Saturday morning. The manager my husband talked to said he would have everything ready to go on Saturday morning when we got there. Friday night when we got home from work there was a message on the answering machine saying the car was sold that night. On top of selling the car out from under us, I received an email this morning confirming our 9 am appointment. This is bad business. I do not recommend this dealership to anyone.

After hunting, searching and talking to dealer after dealer I decided to take a 2.5 hr drive to Tarboro to purchase my new truck instead of in my own backyard...this is why. After a short phone conversation I felt they really wanted to sell me a truck, the sales person understood exactly what I wanted (key words - 'what I wanted') and said he would call me back in 10 min and he did, we agreed on an out the door price without haggling and he said he could have the truck on his lot the next day and he did. When I picked up my truck I met all the fine folks, the truck was exactly as expected and I would recommend Dough Henry Chevrolet Tarboro to anyone and I would buy there again.

My experience was very seamless. John Lynch kept his guarantee that he will get me in a car. Mrs. Jones made sure she was able to work out the best deal possible with my fianancer, even with my credit status. She even help me exchanged to a different car that I wanted. I drove from Raleigh to Doug Henry Chevrolet and it was a easy commute. I was looking at the Chevrolet Volt and the sales person John Lynch made the whole process very easy for me. He had good knowledge of the vehicle and made sure I was comfortable and not pressured through the whole process. They got me a great deal and even went and filled up the gas tank for me. He has emailed and called several times after the sale to make sure I was still happy with the vehicle and to see if i had any further questions. The finance group did not pressure me either and made the process go as quick as possible. I highly recommend John Lynch and Doug Henry Chevrolet.

Purchased an auto from the dealership in tarboro and got a great deal on the car. When purchasing auto the dealer pushed to get an extended warranty once in the finance office and against my better judgement did so. Sold the car a few months later and was told by the dealership that if I sold the car I could get a refund on the warranty.Contacted the warranty company after selling the car and they stated that I could receive a refund. Then contacted the dealership and they stated that also but there refund was way under what the company stated that I would receive. After calling back to the dealership it was confirmed that the amount would be what the warrenty company stated. I have been waiting on my refund for 40 days and when I try and contact the dealership by email they will not contact me back or when they do they just try and put you off. Called one time and they were very rude and hung up on me.
