I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Drove home and picked up my husband and brother in law on our way to Musikfest. The oil light went on. My husband is asking me why the light is on...didn't I just have this changed. Yes, here is the paperwork. The men get out of the car and check the oil...... hmmm NO OIL! There is nothing in there. The car was towed back to Ertle with all 4 of us in the cab of the tow truck. When we get there, the man that changed the oil took the car in, filled it and told me I could just take it now. No apology, not even an excuse. Obviously, we refused and were given a rental as they did a check on the car. Did they really check it? Who knows. But again, whenI picked up the car the next day, the girls says, "No Charge". Really? No sorry for the inconvenience, nothing. I will not go there again.

Classic try and screw women over service center! Unless you need to go to them for a recall, stay far away from them! Lied saying I needed $1,000 worth of brakes, which I already knew I didn't. I took the car to another garage and another car expert and it was confirmed, i didn't need them. They still charged me the inspection fee. This place is a real rip off and women should def stay away. I'll be sure to spread the word on how they try and take advantage of women. STAY FAR AWAY!!

I purchased my first Subaru from Ertle many years ago. I know Ertle's poor reputation, the only reason I purchased from Ertle was a friend of the family was a salesman there. A few years later, I needed a minor repair that was covered under warranty, so I reluctantly took it to Ertle (the only dealership within a half hr of stroudsburg). After picking up my car, I was only a few miles away when my wheel nearly came off. Something was not connected properly(forgive me, I'm not a mechanic), causing my wheel to come out from the car and hang on at about a 45 degree angle from the road, rather than perpendicular. Also, the wheel was completely rolled back in the wheel well, causing minor body damage to my car. I quickly called the dealership (which I had left only minutes ago), and told them I needed a tow back to the dealership. The lady at the service desk had the nerve to ask me if I had AAA or another way to find a tow. Eventually I spoke to the service manager and he sent a tow truck. The next day, when I went to pick up my car (for the second time), they handed me a bill. They actually tried to charge me for the tow and the repairs due to the damage their poor initial repair had caused. Things actually got a bit heated between me and the service manager, to the point where Jim Ertle intervened. He told me to take my car at no charge, and he would speak to his service manager and get back to me if I owed something. An hour later he called me and was very apologetic, but I'll never deal with them again.I'm in the market for a new Subaru again, and I stopped into Ertle just to get some questions answered. The saleslady I spoke with promised to send me an email answering my questions, but it's been weeks now with no response.I have no idea how this place is still in business. Avoid.

I own a 2010 Forester which has had multiple problems with the a/c. I have been to Ertle 5 times to get this repaired and once again they failed to identify and repair the problem. I am taking the vehicle to a different Subaru dealership for repair. I will NEVER have any work done by this "service" department again.standing and I On the brighter side, Tom Nottle in the sales department at Ertle is outstanding and a total pleasure to work with. I will definitely buy my next Subaru from him.Richard Adamshc67atptd.net

Called to request information on a head gasket repair. Spoke to James who was very helpful so I scheduled the service. While car was in James called about additional work that was needed (which I expected from a dealership) but no pressure to have it done. The work took a day longer than they said it would and I was given a discount to compensate for the extra time. I probably won't take my car there for routine maintenance because of the distance, but I would definitely use them for bigger repairs.

Honest pricing, quick service, plenty of amenities while you wait; They have everything! I did not buy my Subaru here, but being that it is so close to my house, it's my go-to spot when i need any maintenance done.

I brought my Subaru into Ertle for an oil change and battery replacement. The repair bill came back with recommended repair of Left head gasket leaking coolant--coolant odor. I thought it was strange wording it like that, leaking coolant--coolant odor. Hey if you see a leak, there is no reason for coolant odor. They wanted big bucks to replace head gasket. I went to my mechanic, very honest, and he said coolant is leaking from water pump, not from head gasket. Well. I saved lots of money for one thing. I called Ertle and spoke with Kathy Amer and told her what my mechanic said. She said a service manager would call me back, so far that hasn't happened. Anyway, I would never buy a car from them because I don't trust their mechanics.

Used dealer website to request information on truck - couldn't get an answer to simple question as to rust on vehicle unless I come in - used their website to make an offer - they would not accept or deny the offer unless I came in - all I get is auto reply that vehicle is in stock and when would I like to come in for a test drive

I purchased a 2013 Legacy in 2013. Recently I brought the car in for routine service (oil change). To my surprise the service receptionist comes to me with an estimate saying I need 4 new tires. The car has only 7200 miles on it. It is 2 years old and I am told the sidewalls on my tires have dry rot. She gave me an estimate of 2 lower quality tire models and then priced the Bridgestone tires (Original tires from Subaru) at $249.00 each. I did not go for it. I called several days later asking to speak to Jim Ertle (he assisted the salesman with the sale). He wasn't there so I left a message with his receptionist explaining my dilemma. About 1/2 hour later the service manager called. Once again I explained the problem. He remembered me and told me there was nothing he could do because there is no warranty on the tires. It appeared as if he didn't seem to care.Four tires 7200 miles on the Legacy and it is unsafe to drive with four dry rotted (sidewall) tires.I called Subaru customer service and the representative also said there is no warranty. I proceeded to tell him I would trade it in for a different brand car. The representative from Subaru was very concerned about me leaving "the product" so he contacted Bridgestone and told me to bring the car to a local dealer. That is the Firestone Auto Center in Stroudsburg. To my surprise the manager was very understanding and he pro-rated the tires (even though there is no warranty on them) and sold me 60,00 mile tires at $225.00 for all four.Ertle is horrible. No attempt to help me. They just kept saying "low mileage causes dry rot". Sure it does, but in PA?Bottom line is Subaru stepped up to the plate, Bridgestone stepped up to the plate. ERTLE LEFT ME STRANDED!!!! They will never see me nor the vehicle again. The dealer stinks and I wouldn't buy another Subaru because it seems the original tires that come with the vehicle are low grade if not basic garbage.

I walked in Saturday 4/18 around 4pm and was not greeted by the 2 people on the floor. Went to the reception desk and had to interrupt someone in order to get a welcome. When I expressed I was interested I a test drive and buying a vehicle I was told they would check to see if anyone was available. After 10 minutes of browsing the floor went back to the same person who told me "oh I don't think anyone is available". Meanwhile there were at least 2 workers on the floor. Again no welcome, no how may I help you or even a goodbye as I left. Everyone seemed to be at a computer or walking around. What a way to sell cars. Oh well, some other dealership will be happy to take my money.

I purchased a 2015 Forester and had a great experience dealing with Yanni Korovesis. I went in there with the notion that I would meet the typical car salesman but to my surprise Yanni was so helpful, that my choice was easy.. He was honest, friendly and quite knowledgeable in all aspects of each model. I got a great price on my trade in and I feel a good price on the new car. I don't feel I was taken at all. I know that in purchasing my next car - it's going to be a Subaru and Yanni will be my sales guy of choice. Thanks Ertle for the great experience.

I bought a crosstrek xv at Ertle Subaru from Yanni Korovesis who was not only honest with me, but helpful and not pushy like other dealers can be. I was also quite surprised how knowledgeable he was. I am sure the owner and manager are both proud to have him on their staff. I also had a very pleasant experience with Bill from service and manager Chuck from service. I had numerous accessories installed on my car and it was done well without a hitch.

To Whom It May Concern:I was there Monday, August 19th looking at possibilities. We were greeted by a salesman by the name of, Joe. We looked at several cars in the lot. We asked to look inside of one of the cars with no success. We then asked if we could test drive a vehicle his response was, there is too much traffic on 611 by the mall. Odd, because we went to two other dealers and we went for a test drive with both salesmen. Disappointed and a bit insulted. We will try another Sabaru dealer either in Bethlehem or New Jersey.Regards,Annette De La Torre570-236-9637

I started to have issues with my clutch slip, but my mileage is WAY too low for something like this. I purchased the car from a different dealership, but went to Ertle because after several hours of googling the symptoms it lead to a warranty issue. I dropped the vehicle off and went on my merry way. I get a call from them telling me I abused the clutch and it is not covered under warranty. After I explained that I have only had the car for around 2500 miles he felt bad because it turns out the previous owner rode the clutch something fierce. They wanted 1500 dollars to replace the clutch. That is RIDICULOUS. It is double everywhere else. So I told them just give me my car back and I'll get it done elsewhere. Now I am being told I have to be 450 dollars in labor for them to diagnose that it wasn't a warranty issue. They worked with me down to 1250 but its still ridiculous. I'm still currently fighting with them to get my vehicle out of their maintenance bay.

Found the car I was looking for online. It was an 03 is300 with higher mileage just like I wanted. Pictures looked great so I emailed about availability. The car was still available and so I asked multiple times for them to confirm the condition of the vehicle. Jennifer was the Internet sales manager I was dealing with. She assured me the car was in good shape and needed nothing. We came to an agreement on price and I put a deposit on it. I then drove 5 hours to pick it up from Erie pa. Upon arrival I find that it was nothing like was promised. The tires may have had 50% tread. The front bumper was scraped all around the fog light. Both front fenders had rust and large paint chips. Rear bumper and 1/4 had a large scrape and was starting to form a bubbling rust. 3 of the 4 wheels were corroded and best yet the car had been bottomed out and had some damage underneath. It was evident by the side skirts huge crease in it. Their story goes, the Internet manager had never even gone to look at the car! Instead she asked her assistant to take pictures for me and she so kindly avoided all the areas I would have been concerned about. How does a dealership try to sell a car without ever looking at it? I do not recommend this dealership, and I feel as if I was someone they were trying I take advantage of. During my visit there the sales manager refused to come and talk to me and said there was nothing he could do. Wouldn't even pay for gas. Needless to say I didn't buy the car, nor will I ever return.

I had a great experience buying a new Subaru at this dealer. They gave me the best price on my trade and the lowest price on the new car of any Subaru dealer within 50 miles. The sales, service and finance staff were all a pleasure to deal with. There was no pressure at all and things moved along very smoothly. I've dealt with other dealers in the area and this is by far the best. I would recommend them to anyone.

I located a late model used Ford the dealership was advertising on cars.com. I wrote asking of availability, along with an offer subject to test drive. The salesperson contacted me within a couple of hours of my inquiry accepting the offer. The sales process was painless, courteous and professional. The dealership offered to pick me up so I could take delivery the following day even though I lived about 50 minutes away. Overall, they are great people to do business with.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. I brought my Subaru in and told them that I think I needed new brake pads and brake fluid. All I wanted was an estimate for the work. They ended up doing a full diagnostic check and had a list of all that was wrong. The estimate for brakes and fluid was $700!!!! I told them I would need another estimate. When I went to pick up the car they charged me $100 just to tell me what I told them from the start. They told me if I did the work with them they would not charge me the money but it was too late because they already put the tires on my car. If I wanted to do the work with them they would have charged another $100. I took my car and went to Sears at the Stroud mall. New brake pads and brake fluid cost me $330. These people are Ertle are such a scam. Please all beward and do not fall into their trap. From what I heard all of the decent workers at this place are now working at Sears because they management was so incredibly bad. Don't get take for your money like me. Be smart and go elsewhere!

After my '99 Subaru was totaled, I needed to find another Subaru quickly. Ertle had a late model used Legacy for (what I thought was) a good price (at the time), so I traveled to PA to check it out. I was told that the car was used by one of the owners over the past year and the price had been dropped recently in an effort to move the car out. Within a few days of purchasing the car the check engine light came on. The code suggested that it could be the gas cap so we tried that first. No, that wasn't it. As my local dealership looked further to diagnose the problem, they found many issues of tampering, most notably a spacer inserted in front of the converter. They were puzzled but thought it was an attempt to thin the emissions entering the catalytic converter, to hide the fact that it needed one. When the weather warmed up and I turned on the air conditioner, I ended up with a swimming pool in my front passenger floor area. Again my local dealership found signs of tampering and parts of the air conditioning assembly were missing or disconnected. Most recently, the check engine light came on again when the car shuttered. This time my local dealership found the car running on 3 cylinders. FINAL NOTE: On the day that I bought the car, there were several other people interested in it. Some had sent emails asking if the car was still available, while others stopped in. Looking back, I feel Ertle Subaru channeled their attention on me buying the car and kept the other interested parties at bay because I lived the farthest away. Hey, the farther away the better to assure the car does not return to bite them.

Yesterday i went in for a routine oil change and inspection only to find out my 2009 Subaru Legacy failed due to a "crushed" oil pan that was "leaking" and the need for 4 new tires. Previous to my vist, i had a screw in my tire and had to get it plugged as well as using fix a flat which was holding air in the tire perfectly fine. When i went out to my car after the information about my 4 "failed" tires, i noticed my tire with the plug in it was almost completely flat. I brought my car home and tested the tread of my 4 tires, only to find out they were still in practically brand new condition, and should not have failed under any circumstances. The tire will now not hold air at all, i have to use my spare, and i now have to dish out the money for a new tire that would have held up fine if it had not obviously been tampered with. As for my "leaking" oil pan that i had to see as soon as i got home to see just how "crushed" it was, was not leaking what so ever and it had barely a dent. I will NEVER return to that dealership ever again and i'm considering selling the car just so i never have to deal with them again.
