I just purchased my third car from Ewalds Hartford Ford salesman, Joseph Schellinger. I first met Joseph 2 years ago when I helped my Dad purchase his new Escape. Joseph was professional, honest and never applied sales pressure. He took the time to listen and was always very helpful. Ive even had Joseph chase down cars for me only to pass on them because I found non-Fords I liked better. Well this time Joseph put me in an awesome 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium and I couldnt be happier with Joseph and Ewalds Hartford Ford. Need a new Ford, see Joseph and the crew at Ewalds Hartford Ford. I waited a few weeks to settle down before writing this review. It was not a pleasant experience at all and we were not dealt with very professionally. Going in reverse order: We came to get our truck and do the paperwork. Come to find out, the salesman told us a interest rate much less than they actually wanted to charge us for financing. Then he lied and said he never told us anything about the interest rate. He said give back a $500.00 rebate and they would drop the percent which was insulting. Suddenly, without having to give up a rebate the interest dropped by 2%. Tell me how honest they were being about the original interest rate? The lady in the financing department was very nice but used the wrong paperwork and it had to be redone several days later. We had discussed putting $2000.00 on a credit card which our salesperson said we could. When it came time to put the deposit down we were told they didn't accept American Express and did nothing to make it right like throw in a oil change . Shouldn't the staff mention this during negotiations? It is a big deal to us but Al made us feel stupid for being upset. We had asked the question and felt like he was always holding back info we wanted. Another example, was that Al had the sticker from the truck window but refused to tell us where the truck was coming from always telling us he didn't know. Then he kept bragging about how he would have the truck spotless when we picked it up. It was washed but certainly not detailed. The truck bed was filthy and the inside dusty. As you can tell it was many things and I could go on and on.

I knew I wanted a new vehicle, but had just incurred some unexpected bills that caused me to spend my "car money". With a good trade, but no money in hand, I went on to the Ford website "just to look". My "look" was forwarded to 2 local Ford Dealerships. Doug at Ewald Hartford Ford responded almost immediately (the other dealership took almost a full week). I set up an appointment to see how far off a monthly payment was from my goal. Doug showed me my dream vehicle, talked about wanted equipment and finances. To my surprise, I got more than I expected for my trade-in, great financing terms and walked out with the vehicle I wanted. This was a deal done My Way!

Took my 2008 Ford Fusion in for warranty service since it was about to expire, there was an issue with the company that issued the warranty due to an error on how the mileage was entered when I purchased it.They said the warranty was expired and they could do nothing about it but without hesitation, Ewald's said they were going to cover all the repairs anyway and I was not charged a dime.It is this kind of customer service that will definitely get my repeat business in the future.I will definitely be looking to Ewald's Hartford Ford for my next Vehicle purchase...THANKS AGAIN GUY'S!!

When I came to Ewald's to purchase my first car, Al immediately made me feel very comfortable when I came to discuss with him about purchasing a car. He was extremely blunt about good deals and car types overall. When we negotiated about my preferences of cars; he was understanding and openminded about my opinion. He showed care about the purchase of my car and appeared very supportive in general and I really appreciated his help during this process. My wife and I purchased a 2014 Ford Escape, AWD. The price of the car, tax and an extended warranty totaled around $24,000. We finalized the deal on a Saturday afternoon in early September, 2015. The dealership didn't appear to be super busy. Yet, were we worth 10 seconds of Jay Ewald's time to just come over to us and say thank you? No we were not. He walked right by us several times but evidently, my purchase was not worth his effort of saying thank you. I didn't expect royal service but a simple personal 'thank you' from Jay Ewald would have made the difference to me recommending Ewald or returning as a customer. I don't recommend Ewald as there are many Ford dealers in the area. Some of my phone calls weren't returned and I didn't appreciate the bluster that another manager Brian, gave me over an ealier offer I had made. My wife really liked the Escape and we really needed a vehicle at that moment. I should have waited and gone somewhere else but didn't. I won't make that mistake again. Years ago, my wife and I were going to buy a far cheaper used vehicle from Ernie Von Schledorn. At least Ernie had the manners to shake our hands and thank us for shopping at his venue even though we didn't buy a thing. I can't remember what we were going to buy from Ernie but I sure remember his graciousness.

Our experience was changed by by one person, Joseph. We inquired about 2 used vehicles through the dealership's instant messenger on their website. After "verifying" the person on IM notified us that both cars were there and available, so we drove an hour to see them. After being in the showroom for 5 to 10 minutes and not being noticed by various employees who were chatting amongst themselves, Joseph, a salesman, asked if we'd been helped yet. Joseph already had customers at his desk. After some searching, Joseph helped us learn that neither car was there!! One had left the night before and the other car a manager had taken about 5 hours earlier to another Ewald dealership! When Joseph called the next afternoon to let us know that the car the manager took had just returned 10 minutes prior, well, we we not too excited to drive yet another hour "hoping" that the car would be there. Joseph made a difference. He showed that he actually cared about people and not just a sale. We did return, test drove the car, made a tentative deal because the car needed some additional work. In the end we did buy the car at a fair price having a good experience, mostly due one person who cared. If you go to Ewald Ford in Hartford WI, my wife and I recommend you ask for Joseph.

Good experience exchanging emails related to vehicle questions, conditions and finally offer negotiations. Working with the sale rep was good, we worked out sales and financing details. I have had an excellent experience in buying my Ford Edge. The car itself is easy to drive and has great acceleration. The seats are very comfortable and the right height for me. The backseat is so roomy and has lots of room for grandkids and adults. I love the panoramic moon roof which helps to cool the interior of the car very quickly and gives a wonderful view. Everyone in the family loves it. The people in the dealership have been very helpful, especially with the computer elements which are new to me. All in all, I have loved this buying experience and my beautiful new car.

Went in for oil change, all went fine. Less than a week later, the check engine light came on. When my wife arrived, the first thing she was told was that it has nothing to do with the oil change and she would be charged $100+ just for the diagnostics test. It seems like a bold statement less than a week after an oil change to rule out the possibility that was the cause even before running diagnostics. Almost instantly, he came back to her and said the oil cap was loose, no charge, you're good to go.A week later, the check engine light came back on. Went back in. I told the service manager about the last visit and the first thing he said is a loose oil cap would not cause the check engine light to turn on. Basically admitting they didn't know what they were doing last time and didn't even run a diagnostics test. The verdict after the diagnostics this time: vapor recovery system. $500 repair. Well, at least it's fixed. However...A week or so later, the check engine light came back on. Going to a different place this time.

My first experience at Ewald Ford in Hartford was excellent from making the appointment to the time I drove off the lot. I was able to make an appointment with time options on the day I wanted to take the car in. I went in for an oil change and good look-over as I prepared to store my Mustang convertible for the season. Even though I did not have the advertised coupon I was given the coupon rate for the service I requested without even asking. I walked the facility instead of just sitting in the customer lounge. I was greeted by Kathleen Gould Ewald's Customer Relations Manager. She was very engaging and anxious to learn what brought me to Ewald. What a pleasant surprise after having a number of less than pleasant encounters with some the Milwaukee area dealerships. The work on my car was finished in less than an hour with a full report of the car's condition and what I could expect in the future in terms of tire life, brake life and fluid levels. The facilities are clean, the staff is professional and personable. I asked to see the person in charge and I met Tony Decristoforo (Sales Manager). I wanted to compliment him and the dealership on an impressive first visit to the facility. As we talked Tony let me know they can handle tires for all vehicles and will match any legitimate competitors quote on the same tire, even internet quotes. I checked the Mustang's oil before leaving (as I have had a couple bad experiences with other dealers over or under filling oil) and it was exactly where it needed to be. Overall a great experience and strongly recommend giving Ewald Ford service a try.

When I went to Ewald's Hartford Ford on 10/25/13 for service on my 2010 Edge, I did not plan on going home in a new 2013 Edge. I was asked how I would rate the service performed on my car and their dealership's overall performance. During the conversation, I was told that my car was on a list of used vehicles that was in demand and what i would think about trading up to a 2013 Edge with equal or better accessories at the same payment that I currently had. I figured why not.I was introduced to Rich Hadden and was shown the 2013. I liked what I saw so we sat down to talk numbers. The sales team applied what I had just paid to have my car serviced as a down payment on the 2013 which put the new monthly payment very close to my current payment. When I talked to the finance officer he offered several options to get extended coverage on the car and still keep my monthly payments down.Rich did not try to pressure me into making a sale. He was up front in answering my questions and I was impressed with knowledge of the Edge. Rich and Gary (sales manager) new I wasn't feeling well and went out of their way to make me as comfortable as possible. I would not hesitate to come back to Ewald's when it is time to trade my wife's car in.Every salesman wants to make sales and won't always be on the up and up to make the sale. This isn't how Rich works. I was approached in a professional maner and treated with respect.

overall experience was what i expected because i have purchased here before. the biggest complaint i have, was that the vehicle was not detailed to what i would consider acceptable. i detail cars(mine and for friends)and would never turn over a car at this level.the trunk was filthy! having said that;still the overall deal was quite satisfying. john was very helpful and the rest of the staff were friendly. grade -a minus

I dropped by this place just to browse a bit and was courteously approached by a salesman (Ryan Kohnke I think it was) and asked a few simple questions which were quickly answered with calm, friendly responses. I explained that I wasn't really ready to buy at this point and rather than just walking away... He continued to let me browse at my own pace without being pushy, or trying to force me into something I wasn't ready for. When the time comes... I am definitely going back to that guy! And I'm sharing this with all my friends because I HATE being pushed into something, or made to feel like I don't know what's best for me and my situation. He gave me some options and offered to send me updates on their sales rather than calling and hounding me about when I'm ready to buy! Best experience I've ever had at any dealership EVER!!! The salesperson my husband & I worked with, Joseph Schillinger, greeted us when we arrived. We had set up an appointment to see him and did not have to ask for or seek him out. We were prepared to purchase that day but we did not get the feeling of being pressured into buying. The finance depart. was clear and concise on the options open to us. Once again we felt comfortable. The tour of the dealership was also a great final way to complete our purchase. It is great to know what the dealership has to offer the buyer in order to get the most out of the Ford product that was just purchased.

My Review Of Ewald's Hartford Ford : I brought my truck in running like a top and just wanted a tune-up and oil change so I would be good to go for winter. From the moment I picked the truck up it was all down hill from there my heat stopped blowing hot air, then I needed new head gaskets, power steering pump, new radiator, $4900.00 and some odd dollars later and six trips back, my motor is leaking oil like a sive and the AC is scewed up. Im am soooo dissatisfied with your service department. I could bring it back again but im afraid something else would be screwed up. Will i ever bring a vehicle to you again NO! Would i ever recommend you to anyone NO! Some where Tim got the idea that customers are sucker's ripe for the plucking. Absolutely the worst service and most infuriating experience of my life.

Eric Enders was wonderful to work with. He went out of his way to get a vehicle back and help us get the best price on it. He took great care of us!!! He called when he said he was going to call with any information and kept us in the loop while reviewing and purchasing our new SUV. So far, my husband is in love with it! I needed to replace a recently totaled vehicle, let's say I wasn't really in a shopping mood.I had been looking on line and I found a truck I thought would be exactly what I had in mind. I drove out Hartford on a snowy Valentine's Day, just to take a look. Rich was wonderful, he put me at ease right away. We went for a test drive, he answered all my questions. When I asked how long I'd have to wait to take it home, should I decide to buy, he said I could take it that night. Well let me tell you, that sold me right there. I had been driving a rental for a week, and I really wanted to be done with that. This was my first big purchase since losing my husband, and these two gentleman made me feel so comfortable and so at ease, I can't thank them enough. I am very pleased with my visit and purchase from Ewald's Hartford. When I entered the lot and was looking around, I wasn't swamped by salespersons. I really appreciate this. At other lots, I have had them coming out of the woodwork. With this, I observed a salesperson in the lot when I had a question regarding a couple of vehicles, the salesperson was able to pickup on it and then came over. Jason was very polite and knowledgable. Jason sought what in a vehicle I was seeking. Jason showed me several options of vehicles in the same class and style without any attempt to move me from the class I was originally seeking. (I came to the lot looking for and Escape or Explorer type vehicle, had only one Escape on the lot but it was a higher end one with a moonroof and leather seating that I'm not interested in, so he showed me the various Explorers). Jason did let me know that Ewald has many lots and that an Escape could be bought to Hartford if I had requested. Working through the process was comfortable and smooth. There was again, no pressure or undue influence. Jason explained the whole process went well.Financing is always where anxiety tends to build. Brian was very easy to work with. Brian is very personable, efficient and knowledgable. I was very relaxed working with both Brian and Jason. After purchasing my 2006 Explorer, I had a couple of questions. The service manager (I appologize that I have forgotten his name), was very informative and attentive to my concerns. He was also able to enlighten me that I was correct, there was no dipstick for the transmission. But, instead of it missing in error, Ford has a sealed system instead. (one less thing for me to check).I would also like to complement the overall appeal of Hartford Ford. No matter what time I am in the area, I can access your lot and look at the vehicles. Many lots are closing them off after hours. They layout is user friendly. The only negative is that on your website, in the upper right corner where you have your phone numbers listed, perhaps a different color should be used. Blue on blue isn't working well.Keep up the excellent work.

The vehicle I went to test drive was being serviced, but Rich didn't pressure me into buying any vehicle. He was willing to let my wife and I drive any vehicle to compare the ride. The vehicle we purchased had just been taken in on a trade and wasn't even on the lot. The dealer was willing to make some repairs for us to close the sale.

Tim promised a set price over the phone, and an additional online discount. Once I arrived, I was told the quoted price still was good, as well as the discount and that I could also have a free rental car since the bill would be over $200. Once the car was serviced, all of this changed. When I was called that the car was done the price was inflated $60 over promised, and I was told I couldn't get the discount because I took the free rental. We argued at length, and then we compromised to a figure still well above what I'd been promised and he immediately hung up the phone on me before I could ask another question of him. Upon arriving to pick up my car, the work order had a price higher than what we had agreed upon the 2nd time. I ended up having to pay the extra amount since I could not afford to miss work to stay longer and demand the price we had agreed upon. I'm 50 years old, and it was the worst customer service I have ever experienced in having any of my vehicles repaired.

I appreciated being able to get rapid responses from Gary to my many emails & Q's as I spent 3 months researching different dealers & websites narrowing down to exactly the vehicle & options I wanted. Knew I wanted a 2012 Ford Flex, but SEL or Limited? AWD or FWD? Two-tone roof color or monochrome? Black or dark blue? Then, when I saw Ewald Hartford's internet price was over $6,200 under MSRP, I was real happy. I ended up going with the 0% financing vs. the $1,500.00 customer cash, but it was still over $4,700 under MSRP, so again, a great price on an amazing dark blue Flex Limited! Also, Ewald's a very accommodating dealership as our 4 mostly well-behaved pre-teens / teens killed the time by salivating over the stunning Shelby Cobra & Taurus SHO in the showroom. And the popcorn.

Not what I expected from a dealership. Took hours to purchase my car. Refused to add more gas to make it home. Had to buy gas on my way home. When purch car beware they gave me only 5 options all w/insurance included. 2/28th sent fax to cancel additional insurance was told over phone would be taken care of. As of 4/4th still not done.

Ewald's Hartford Ford has a wide selection of cars like a large dealership but with the personal experience of a small town dealership. I needed something to pull my boat and Greg helped me find the perfect pre-owned Jeep. They really listened to my needs and kept everything in my budget. I didn't feel pressured and they even followed up with me afterward to make sure I was happy. I am completely satisfied with my entire experience and I highly recommend working with this dealership!!

While on the computer tonight, I was reminded of your Dealership/Service dept. The smell of Gasoline lofting through the air in my house and garage is so strong from my wife's minivan. I cant park it in the garage any more because Im afraid my house is going to blow up, and Im not exaggerating it smells like someone dumped a gallon of gas on the floor! I had it towed to you guys because it stalled on the road. days later i had to call you because of no response,then after 600 plus dollars worth of fuel pump repairs you call us to come get our vehicle. We get in the vehicle and the blower is not working, so you repair that, then the engine light comes on. you make that go off. but guess what, that is on again! Im am soooo dissatisfied with your service department. I could bring it back again but im afraid something else would be screwed up. Will i ever bring a vehicle to you again NO! Would i ever recommend you to anyone NO! Much like many other company's today, how quick can we get the job done, and how much profit can we make. And i speak from experience because i work for people like that. get in get paid and get out.
