1st off I want to start by saying that I didn’t buy a Honda or Toyota. I bought a $70,000 VOLVO. I expected a different level of service. My vehicle just rolled 5800 miles, and it was due for the 1st service. When I arrived to the dealership I entered the service drive. I had my 2 month old child in the car with me. I waited and waited an yet no one approached me. Eventually I got tired of sitting around so I left my child in the car and walked into the service department. Finally after about 5 minutes I was noticed. My vehicle was in for regular maintenance. They told me it would take a couple hours. I asked for a loaner an they told me they have none available at the moment. Which I find hard to believe because I have spent many years working at dealership. I will definitely not be retuning to this dealership, an am very disappointed with Volvo’s service. If my second service is the same, maybe I’ll look into trading the Volvo in for a Audi or Mercedes. They deliver a loaner to your house even for JUST AN OIL CHANGE.

Fields Volvo is a dishonest company. They tried to charge me $7,200 dollars for work that I did not need. I went to an honest local Volvo shop and got it fixed for $400. Ask around, their service writers are compensated to just sell more unnecessary work. That is how they make their money - in fact one of their service personnel told me that. I called the owner to tell him my story and he said there was nothing he could do to help. Dan Fields, the owner, was extremely unfriendly on the phone and was very arrogant. Stay away from this place unless you have a lot of extra money to waste. Honesty means nothing to Fields Volvo.

I recently purchased my first Volvo from Fields Volvo, I owned a Fields Infiniti for many years so I was familiar with Fields. This was the best experience for a female purchasing a car. Matt in finance was so easy going and nice he made me feel comfortable when I sat down in is office. I purchased my car from Mike K, a very enthusiastic and friendly person. I also spoke with other sales people I think their names were Zor, Roger and Mike P, I even got to meet the General Manager and a Sales Manager Mark. Everyone made me feel so comfortable especially when it can be stressful for a female to purchase a car! I highly recommend this Volvo dealership.

The service was completed and the vehicle was inspected thoroughly. They did a good job in washing the car. I wish they could vacuum and wipe the interior as well. I have a loaner so I can go straight to work after dropping the car off. The fuel tank was only 3/8 full and it dropped down to 1/4 immediately after I drove out of the dealership. It would be good if they can filled it up to begin with.

Just took delivery on a new XC90, which was pre-ordered this summer. Not much negotiation to be had and Fields did the right thing in honoring original price even with an increase in the sticker price. Zoar Avni was my sales guy. Very knowledge, attentive and a quirky sense of humor, to boot. Great to work with and highly recommended. Oh - and LOVE the XC90!!

The word "Family" comes to mind to describe my experience at Fields Volvo ! As I entered the dealership, I was pleasantly greeted by Zoar. He answered all my questions about the Volvo XC 60, and we took a test drive of the vehicle. I was very impressed with this SUV, and he was great to work with! My headlight went out Sunday night on my Volvo and brought it in early Monday morning without an appointment. i live quite a distance from my Field's Volvo dealership and could have transferred my car's service closer to home, but it's worth the drive to be treated so well. The sales and service staff are great. And relaxing in the lounge area with TV, internet and work corrals, as well as great snacks while waiting for the car to be serviced is the best! Well worth the drive! Dealerships close to my home don't compare. I will buy my next car at Field's and travel the distance when needed to continue to be part of the Field's family.

I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a certified used car from Fields Volvo of Northfield. Before buying the car, I did my due diligence and I went to various local dealers searching for a slightly used vehicle that would fit my needs. Most visits left me with a decidedly icky feeling. I was told that this or that noise was perfectly normal. And surely, I was just imagining things? Although, in many cases, I have owned and cared for a car longer than the sales person has been able to drive! Or even worse, I would go back after they had told me they had "fixed" the problem and find the issue unresolved. Not at Fields, my feedback on two minor issues were addressed with immediate concern, I was introduced to the mechanic who assured me that the issues would be resolved to my satisfaction. The salesperson kept me updated on the cars status and verified that all was taken care of prior to my purchase. No pressure gimmicks, I truly felt like they wanted to be sure all my concerns were addressed and that I would be truly happy with my purchase. I had read the great reviews on the dealer ship on this web site and am glad to report that they are true.

Fields Volvo is the best dealership I have ever done business with. All of the salespeople we met and observed were very courteous and professional. Our sales rep was Don who was a real treat to work with. I don't think I have ever actually enjoyed dealing with a car salesman, but Don great. The facilities are also modern, clean, and overall welcoming. They have a snack bar stocked with drinks and snacks, almost like what you would find in an airport gift shop. There is also a nice play room for the kids. We really loved the facility. Overall, the best experience I have ever had at a car dealership.

I was looking to purchase a specific car and Bill came highly recommended so I took a chance and drove out of my way to the Northfield Volvo dealership, I met with bill and told him exactly which car I was looking to purchase and I left him my phone number, after a few days past by I received a call from bill who informed me that he found a 2011 Infinity EX35 with 20,000 miles and that the vehicle's cost was below the budget I told him I was able to afford. The next day I immediately drove to the dealership with my husband and fell in love with the car, it looked as if it was just driven out of the assembly line. I immediately put a deposit on the vehicle and called my state farm office in order to get the funding, when my husband and I returned to the dealership we informed bill that we had the funding approved by state farm and that we needed the vehicles V.I.N in order to complete the transaction with state farm. Bill not only helped me find the exact car that I was looking for but he also saved us money, bill went and spoke with mike, bill informed mike that we had gotten a very good interest rate thru state farm, however he asked mike to check and see if he could find us an even lower interest rate. Mike at which time started making phone calls and did not stop until he found us a better rate (almost 1% less!!) my husband and I were so surprised and satisfied that we had mike print out all the proper paperwork so that we could drive our new car home. For me to take the time to grope through websites to say what a pleasure it was doing business with Fields Volvo in Northfield, IL speaks volumes in itself. I got a fair to good deal at Fields and the gentlemen I worked with were low pleasure, knowledgeable guys. If all Field stores/brands have this culture, I would be hard pressed not to buy my next cars there as well.In my search for a used Lincoln MKZ I visited several dealerships and CarMax. The other dealerships could not come close to the service and deal I got at Filed Volvo from Mike and Bill, and CarMax is CarMax. Negotiating with the Sales Mark was not the stress one would expect.As a matter of fact, there was a Park Ridge Lincoln dealership that actually brought arrogants and rudness to a new level. I',m alking about the Sales Manger, not the whipped and abused salesmen, but I digress.Fields is a class act in every respect.BartPS: The other review I've written in my life was for a well driller in Northern Wisconsin. Roger is The Man in the sales dept. For one "honest car salesman" would normally be an oxymoron but not with Roger. I bought my first used car from him and waited months until he found the perfect car for me. After purchase Roger continues to go to bat for me with servicing the car and giving advice. His background is as a technician so he really knows his stuff from literally " under the hood." Before meeting Roger I have had a string of bad car buying experiences. Bought a used 08 Chevy Malibu and was not expecting to leave the lot with the car that day, but the people who worked at the dealership helped us out financially to get the car, and we drove the car home that very day. It was our first purchase in 5 years of a vehicle and the staff helped out very well. I love the car a lot and it's gas mileage it gives me. Rude and arrogant.I stopped in to look at a new vehicle, and after showing interest in one, was approached by the Sale Manager.Not only was he rude and arrogant,but, he would not stop talking!!I thought he would get the hint when I looked at my watch several times, but that didnt work.I nearly fell asleep listening to him rant on and on about how good there reputation was, their competitive prices, and how well they treated their customers.REALLY??!!!When he finally stopped talking (zzzzzzzzzzzz) .....I finally made an offer on the vehicle, he told me it would be hard to find this car for that price,told me I should continue to look elswhere, and walked away.SO, I DIDFunny thing is, I was able to find the same vehicle for a much better price at another dealership.Apparently he doesnt like to do business as much as other dealers,because of the "HIGH VOLUME OF RETURN CUSTOMERS WE HAVE" (his own words)NEWS ALERT!!!It might be a good idea to not talk so much, and spend more time listening to your customers,instead of yourself.

Steve Farshi was courteous, knowledgeable and a great listener. My husband and I met him over a month ago, and he did not have a Volvo XC60 with navigation to show us. However, he promised to keep looking for us, and called this week when Fields Volvo received a trade in matching our wishes. He never tried to push us into any other car over that period of time. Steve is a true professional. He dealt with me fairly and in a very straight-forward manner. Steve has an MBA and is close to receiving a 2nd masters degree in accounting. I bought a used car from Fields Volvo and wouldn't hesitate to buy my next car there. Everyone was very upfront with me and I knew what I was buying. After the purchase I had some concerns about the car and everyone was more than happy to help. They actually did some extra work on the car at zero expense to me, which surprised me. They didn't have to, due to me already purchasing the car, but they did. They even gave me the coolest loaner car while I waited, a Volvo C30. I think that will be the next car I buy from them. Found the vehicle I was interested in on Cars.com - made an appt with dealership to see the car. Arrived that morning at dealership-contact person was not there. Another salesperson showed the car-took a test drive... Also drove some other cars salesperson recommended. Agreed to purchase original car-was given rock bottom on my trade-in. Paperwork took mist of the day. Was finally sent on my way only to find that I had to fill up before even got home!! Two weeks later they sent me a new sticker because they'd made an error on my registration.

From my service advisor David Cederquist to the technician Dominic are both very helpful. They are always friendly and will answer every and all questions that you have. When you walk into the sevice dept all the advisors are very friendly and treat you like family. From a woman's perspective you are never made to feel stupid about what they are telling you whether the service advisor or tech are explaining the service repairs on your car. They treat you with common courtesy and respect at all times.

Ashvin Shah was an exceptional salesman. Not only is he incredibly helpful and willing to go the extra mile to get you what you want and an excellent deal but he is such a great guy to work with. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. We really wanted a black car with dark interior and there was only one available in the country. He was able to get it and kept us informed every step of the way. He was also able to get us a really good deal on the cost of the car as well. I had my Volvo S60 serviced at Feilds Volvo of Highland Park several months ago. The service costed me $6,500.00. When we took the car home it was not any better then when we took it in. I'm sorry I'll take that back, the car had 4 new tires. When we took the car back, they wanted to charge us another $2,000.00 to fix the same problem with the car. Wow, they were nice enough and lowered the price to $1,600.00 NOW REMEMBER FOR THE SAME ISSUE THAT THEY ALREADY CHARGED US $6,500.00. After paying additional $1,600.00, on the way home we noticed the car had the same issue AGAIN. Now we are $8,100.00 in the hole for a car that is worth only $8,500.00 per Kelly the blue book. By now we were steaming... Immediately from the car on the way home from the service department, I called the bank and put a stop payment on the check. Now Feilds Volvo of Highland Park is threatening us with a law suit for putting stop payment on the check. As I said it has been several months and they have not done anything. In the mean time we took the car to another Volvo dealership for service. They finally fixed the car. However this service costed us another $2,700.00. GUESS WHAT, NOW I'LL BE TAKING FEILDS VOLVO TO COURT!!!! Yes $10,800.00 later the car finally is fixed. I'm sorry I could not have gone through the details of the repairs because of the lawsuit.... O by the way, the car was purchased and always servised by Feilds Volvo. Those records will be reviewed also

I was introduced to this dealership via the Costco Auto Purchase Program, which is a great way to purchase a new vehicle (another discussion). From the first in-person encounter after the initial email contact, I was pleasantly greeted by the general manager, Pat Hubert, sales manager, Rene Chavez, and salesperson, Zoar Avni. I came prepared with questions and car seats in order to test out the fit for my 3 children, and Zoar was utterly fantastic, patient, and knowledgeable. Despite having a 1.5 year-old and 3 year-old along with us evaluating the vehicles, Zoar was incredibly helpful with the children. My wife and I were even able to test-drive an XC90 R-Design during a snow storm, and it was perfect. Although we were testing other vehicles that day, they were not pushy about completing the sale, and encouraged my wife and I to return for a second and third look.We had a specific configuration in mind, and Pat was able to quickly locate the exact model we wanted. We were able to discuss other options and accessories over the course of a few days, and Zoar was very prompt in answering our questions and coordinating our requests over the phone and via email. They were able to give competitive pricing on financing and extended warranties. We received our 2011 XC90 a few weeks later, and the entire staff was very helpful in prepping and demonstrating the vehicle in an efficient manner, including a meeting with the future mechanic that will be performing service.Zoar and Rene have followed up with us after the sale, and Zoar has remained very accessible to our needs. In fact, the XC90 was recently in an accident (within 3 weeks of purchase) and I contacted Zoar for a reference on a repair shop and replacement parts. His first concern was to make sure that my family was well, but he was also able to obtain the information I needed immediately. Zoar is the real deal - he does not procrastinate and makes sure that all your needs are met. Without hesitation.I look forward to the new location, as it is closer to my home and looks great. I would not hesitate to refer any of my friends or colleagues to Fields Volvo.

Steve is a very friendly and honest guy. He is very patient and always willing to help. The weather was horrible the day we went to the dealership but he accompanied us to see different models/colors in the parking lot without hesitation despite the strong wind and heavy rains. When we weren't able to complete the financial part of the process and take the new car out the first time because of a title issue, everyone was so discouraged but Steve continues to stay positive and was very professional and courteous to us. He even helped us to move our stuffs from the new car back to our own car and put back our license plate to our existing car (again under horrible weather) and promised to deliver a resolution to our title issue which he did the following business day.

Negotiating a price went smoothly and amenable to both parties. Being able to speak to one of the senior mechanics gave me confidence in their service department. Last week on recommendation of my grown son we visited Field's Volvo in Highland Park. It was quite a trek for us as we live almost 50 miles southwest of Highland Park. We had been in search of a good, reliable mid-size car. With the help of the staff at Field's Volvo we did make a purchase of a 2003 Honda Accord. I can't say enough about the attentiveness of all we came in contact with. Had such a positive experience, we deemed it very worth the miles we covered roundtrip. All the staff were extremely helpful and seemed genuinely interested in helping fit the right car to our needs. We enjoyed the smooth ride as we drove it over the weekend. I took special note of the listening skills of those we worked with. Excellent experience!

I have bought 4 cars from the Fields Auto Group .. 1 Infiniti and 3 Volvos. Since my first purchase at Fields Volvo more than 10 years ago, I have never even considered going to any other dealer. I know from my dealings with Fields Volvo that they stand behind their cars and their service. They are an honest and reputable partner with which to do business. They always deliver on time and do what they have promised. I wish more companies were like them.My most recent experience was the purchase of my new XC60 from Fields Volvo, with Roger Martinez as my sales consultant. Roger is the perfect sales person for me -- he is extremely knowledgeable, honest and patient. He answered all of my numerous questions and he explained things about the 3 models that I was considering very well. He never pressured me. I have come in numerous times to have my new car hand washed and Roger always comes over to see how I am and to see if I have any questions about the car. He has patiently explained the GPS and phone system to me (a few times!) and he always wants to be sure that I am thrilled with my car (I am!!) Roger epitomizes what it means to be Customer Focused. A little side story -- Shortly after I bought my XC60, I was looking for a (much less expensive) car for my daughter. I called Roger for his opinion and he again was extremely helpful and his wealth of knowledge helped us make the right decision for my daughter's car. Even though he was not going to benefit from that purchase, he spent a lot of time with me and I felt as though a good friend was giving me great advice. I truly appreciate all of the help Roger has given me both with my car purchase and my daughters. I have recommended Roger and Fields Volvo to many of my friends. I can't imagine buying a car from anyone except Roger.

This is our second certified Volvo purchase; the first from Fields Volvo. We reviewed prices and availability for a number of weeks from all the Chicago-land Volvo dealers and Fields had the best selection and pricing for the XC70's. Although we live nearly 60 miles away, it was worth the drive. As we had already done research ahead of time, we were fairly knowledgeable of what we were looking for and what we expected to spend. The car was clean and appears in good condition. Steve and Maria were both accommodating during the sales process.We were slightly disappointed after less than a week when our low tire pressure indicator came on. After filling up the tire and having the indicator come on again after a day, we realized there was obviously a problem with the tire. Rene Chavez (Sales Manager) happened to call me that night to ask about our sales experience, so I mentioned the tire issue (as well as an intermittent lock issue and a missing bulb). He had the service department call me that night and with Rene's help, they went out of their way to make sure my schedule was accommodated for a service appointment. The service staff, including Chris O'Toole, were very helpful and professional. I was provided a loaner car and the work was completed the same day. Rene also made a point to meet with me to make sure everything was taken care of. Everyone truly seemed to go out of their way to turn what could have been a frustrating situation (being that it was a new car for us) into a positive one.

This was one of the worst car buying experiences of my life.My wife and I are loyal volvo customers and in fact bought our current volvo from this dealership when in was know as Highland Park Volvo. Due to this we were excited to return for the purchase of another vehicle. My wife and I wasted two hours waiting to speak to the finance manager about purchasing a new xc60. Once she was finished talking to a previous customer for over two hours while knowing we were waiting with our child she was exceptionally dismissive We were told that we were trying buy a car that she thought was too expensive for us after telling us we technically COULD afford the car. Our credit score is in the mid 600's and we have an annual salary over $200,000.The only incentive we were given was customer loyalty of $500 after taxes (because it is a popular car: we were told), and told to look at purchasing a less expensive car. The finance manager was extrememly condescending at times saying "I'm just asking for more of a down payment, its not like I'm personally going to spend that money." When we said ok, we will then defer and wait to purchase she asked "What are you waiting for/" and then suggested we just get a less expensive car for 2 years and then trade it in 2-3 years from now for what we want. I believe it is common knowledge that trading in a used car for a new car especially if the care has not been paid off can be a risky proposition.We contacted another dealership in Schamburg after leaving and were astounded!!! We were given the information we needed, were told about the customer loyalty incentive from the beginning which happen to be $1000 not $500, and generally were treated with greater respect and consideration.While we understand that everyone has bad days, we have never been treated in such a blatantly disrespectful manner. We do want to be fair and mention that our sales associate was excellent. The floor manager was excellent and appropriate. Our dissatisfaction does not lie with them or the facilities.

i bought my 2008 volvo xc70 from grossinger, who currently does not have volvo any more. ever since buying this car it has been in service every 2 to 3 months for a computer problem usually starting with the locks and then spreading to the tire pressure sensor. no one, even volvo usa, could fix the problem totally. i called volvo usa about the problem. i have owned 6 previous volvos without any major problems. volvo usa quickly contacted fields volvo where i currently service this car and they verified the problem. roger martinez made me a deal i could not refuse and i bought a 2010 volvo xc60. roger understood my problem and worked with me to resolve it. he did a great job along with others at fields volvo to get me a great deal on a reliable new car. the service department at fields also did a great job checking out the problem and discussing the cars history with volvo usa. thanks so much for everyones kind consideration in this matter. brad alexander,md

We were coming from years of owning another hi-line European car and we were not sure about the "fit" for us. The new XC 60 was "the car for us" said the GM Pat Hubert. She urged us to take a test drive and she was right....it exceeded our expectations in every way. After a month of ownership we are sold on Volvo and glad to be back with them after our departure in the mid-eighties.The sales experience was flawless in every way. I own a Volvo S-40 and I am a tough and hard to please customer. I would not take my car anywhere but only to Field's Volvo of Highland. I have been to "other" Volvo dealers/service centers in the area, but no one has the integrity and strong work ethic as always shown by Field's. I am a retired airline pilot and I know that at Field's my Volvo receives an impeccable service and attention just as my aircrafts used to get in the hangers by FAA certified mechanics. So if you have tried the rest, it is high time you try the best. Pleasant Experience on All FrontsOn October 17, my wife and I (age: in our fortees) ventured out to Fields Volvo in Highland Park. In our search for a pre-driven, very low-mileage, appealing 2009 or 2008 European-style small/mid-sized car, we had visited other dealerships (Volkswagen, Audi, Volvo) in the Chicago area, but were rather dissatisfied with the mediocre quality of the encountered sales assistance and inventory. At Fields, however, we encountered no less than four 2009 S40 cars that fit the bill, including two demo specials. What caught our eye most was a like-new, hard-to-find, feature-rich 2009 S40 T5 AWD R-Design model sporting under 10,000 miles and competitively priced. Knowing that we needn't look further in principle to circle in on a purchase, we nevertheless found the low-pressured sales approach and pleasant, knowledgeable personalities and respectful, accommodating service orientation of Fields Volvo sales staff and management (Roger Martinez and Rene Chavez) essential. We felt at ease through the entire sales and negotiating process, including two test rides, handling and pricing of our trade-in, and purchase financing at a competitive rate. What is more, after having sealed the deal already, Fields Volvo's commitment to client service instantly surfaced when we requested that scuffled edges on two wheels be resurfaced. Roger and Rene said they were going to take care of it and lived up to it.
