Best dealership to buy a car from! This was my first time buying from a dealership let alone from out of state and everything went seamlessly from start to finish. Lindale and Patrick in sales were very kind and accommodating helping with all of my requests/questions and advising me how everything worked. Tom in finance was very easy to work with and was very helpful answering all of my questions or concerns I had. Everyone was very patient and great to work with! They took me in last minute when my vehicle wouldn't start. AAA came to give me a jump. Had I turned my engine off, I would have been stuck. I called Hall Ford and they said they would fit me in. My first Ford was a 1964-1/2 Mustang when I was stationed at Pearl Harbor, HI. In 2011 I bought a Ford Focus in Memphis which ended up being my daughter’s high school car in Camden, NC. I bought another 2018 Focus with eco-boost and the oil pump went out in 2019 and Hall Ford took care of it too include a new turbo. A year later June 2020 the 2018 Focus was a total loss in a bad accident. I didn’t have GAP and had to make up the difference owed. At this time my daughter was in the navy, but I still had the old 2011 Focus with 187K miles on it. I told my wife I would drive it until it started having problems. I drive 64 miles one way to work. The 2011 “Old Faithful” got me to work and home for the next 15 months without any problems. August 11, 2021 with 216K miles going home the serpentine belt broke 30 miles from home. I had the car towed to Hall Ford and all was good with a morning appointment at 07:30 to replace the belt. I took a taxi home and let my supervisor know I would be out 8/12 with my car in the shop. Later I got called by Hall Ford Service that the belt was not in stock, but was ordered and arrive around 10 am and 1/2 hour labor car would be ready. I was good with that. Here is where And why I give a 1 ⭐️ for the service at Hall Ford of Elizabeth City. Expecting a call to come pick up my car no later than noon, but never got the call. I tried calling service and could only get voicemail. I called sales to be transferred and got through, but told no updates because mechanic was on an extended lunch break. At this point I was frustrated and instead of waiting for an update, decided to buy a 2021 Rogue. I called the competition up the road and explained my situation. I truly was going to buy a Ford Escape when the car reached end of life, but the terrible service deterred me and Nissan picked me up in a Rogue they thought I would like. I test drove it back to their dealership and drove home with it that evening. If Ford Service was better, I would have drove home with an Escape. I still like Ford, but if local service is poor I will not buy a Ford.

I had inquired (via email) about a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. Johnnie Oneal responded and answered my question. This vehicle did not have a sunroof (which I really want). Instead of dismissing me, Johnnie searched all of their dealerships to see if they had what I was looking for within my price range. So far, there is not a vehicle with the specifics I am looking for in my price range, but I really appreciated Johnnie going the extra mile to look for me. He also said he would keep an eye out and let me know if one comes up that matches my search criteria. I would be willing to drive the hour it would take me to get to this dealership because of Johnnie!

Purchasing my new car with the Hall team was seamless. The team stayed late for me to make it from Kill Devil Hills to Elizabeth City after work, and everyone pitched in to get me on the road with my new car as quickly as possible. My sales consultant, Lindale, was wonderful and I never felt pressured or rushed despite the late hour. He and the finance manager, Toney worked quickly and efficiently, answering any questions I had throughout the process. All of the other team members I spoke with, as well as the manager, Nick, were very kind and helpful. Purchasing a new car can be a painful process but these guys made it as enjoyable as possible.

Hall Ford's staff is incredible. I actually bought my used vehicle sight unseen because Hall Ford's price was the best in the nation. My salesman Mike White went above the call of duty in every way that he can to make my unusual car buying experience a positive one. Mike had a very positive attitude and met all of my requests. He even met the driver of the carrier truck that was picking up my vehicle on a day that the dealership was closed. The vehicle I received was in as great condition as Mike described it. My finance manager Toney Smith made the final step of purchasing the vehicle a breeze. We had an issue with my loan from my credit union and Toney worked very hard to resolve the issue. My sales manager Stewart Straus was also very accommodating. I was very nervous about buying a vehicle sight unseen, but the staff at Hall Ford put my worries at ease with their incredible service.

When asked for a quote for a certified vehicle I saw online I was given a quote for a non-certified but wasn't told that until I arrived at the dealership after a 2.5 hour drive. One of the team (Sigs) came out to meet me at the vehicle I was looking at, a 2016 Ford F250, he didn't go all crazy with questions and all he asked was, "Would you like to take it for a test drive?". I was quoted $109.95 on my first oil change, tire rotation package over the phone, although I was told it was much higher after arriving at the service department. The lady (sorry, I can't remember her name) who I spoke with about the discrepancy did honor the $109.95 after-all. I really do appreciate her keeping to the phone quote despite me not having actual proof. I did have one issue - after paying for the service, I noticed that the DEF fluid was still calculating as under half full on the onboard computer. Apparently one of the techs forgot to fill the fluid, but he did end up filling it right away in the parking lot. I did really like the online scheduling on the website, it was very easy. This is my first experience with Hall Ford, and I am pleased to say, I will be returning. Thank you!

It was a great experience, though I wish there was a way to make it quicker. 3 hours is long, but nice that they have shuttle service. We had the same salesperson, Lindale .He, again, listened to our needs and desires in new vehicle and got us the truck we were looking for, a 2016 Ford F150. The staff is always helpful,and courteous. They were able to include an ESP plan with Ford which we preferred to the other one being offered. The service department has always been accommodating and courteous allowing us to make appointments that are convenient including rental cars while we wait for service to complete their job. We live over 60 miles from Hall Ford but know that the service and assistance we receive there makes the trip worth the time.

I brought my truck in Saturday after calling and making an appointment for first thing on Monday. As I went into the dealership once again we were assured that first thing Monday it would be on the hoist and we would have a call first thing Monday to let us know of any extra servicing because we needed the truck back by Monday evening. Katie was the rudest person I have ever met, as we walked out of the service area I told my husband how uncomfortable it was and he agreed. We almost took my truck back to bring to VA instead, but we agreed that it was already there, other Ford dealerships have always been great to us (not this place).Monday morning turns into noon, I called and am on hold and being transferred for a solid 15 minutes and Katie picks up the phone and the call is dropped. I call back because they didn't bother to call back and get transferred to Katie right away? I asked about the truck and she said they haven't done the work because their Internet was down, and she tried to hang up, so I quickly ask was there any other work, she said she doesn't know the mechanic is on lunch. This is noon...she tries to hang up all the time giving me the snarkiest attitude. Next I ask what work is getting done today and she rudely answers, whatever you were quoted and hangs up! I am so miffed and ready to go grab my truck! So I call the manager who tells me we made the appointment later in the day, I call out her lie right away. Next she tells me lie after lie about my truck, that they were working on it for an hour and a half already, and that as we were speaking he was draining the oil. She tried running me around on my ford truck..a farm girl who comes from a family that exclusively owns fords and a dad who is a mechanic with his own shop. On top of that I am a forester from the Canadian Rockies and they tried telling me I needed to change my brand new expensive mountian rugged tires because they are cut up...wow trying to steal my tired too!!! There are many more things I won't even get into on here, but I know trucks and this place obviously does not and heavily lacks any civility, courtesy or respect.

Amanda has gone out of her way to answer and to accommodate for any service needed. Including explaining services needed in future to keep vehicle in good shape. Amanda has taken the time to learn whose vehicle belong to whom since I have another vehicle. Amanda has taken time to assist my aged roommate who get confuse sometime with services needed has explained information on paper so I could go over service needed with my roommate. The appointments were conducted as scheduled, and they coordinated with the driver of my rental company for transportation to their location. I found the car I wanted online with all the right qualifications. The main thing that brought me to this dealership was the CPO Warrenty advertised on the vehicle. The advertisement made the car appeal to have the CPO already attached, but that wasn't the case. I was unhappy to learn that it was an additional option. I drove an hour and a half to find out the price of the vehicle was not what was advertised. Other than that issue, everything else ran smoothly. I was approved for a loan and everyone I spoke with was wonderful. They helped me trough the process quickly.

This was the best car buying experience I have ever had. Everyone I spoke with and met with were great. They took their time with me to make sure I got the vehicle I was looking for. The whole process was easy because they asked me questions about how I was going to be using the truck I purchased so it would do all of the things I neded to do with it. The truck is gorgeous and that is because they know so much more about them than me. My original color choices and trim levels was nowhere near what they selected and I have to say they hit this one out of the park. I love my new truck and I am not sure that I would have liked what I picked originally. I would without question purchase another vehicle from this dealership. I drove 300 miles to buy a truck from this store and I would do it again. They were honest, fair and just nice people. I did not get that impression dealing with the people I spoke with in Maryland where I live.

Terrible business, no customer loyalty, i bought a new car from them in june of 2013 that they tried to sell to me at 39k (sticker price) and after spending 5 hours there i finally got the car for 34k, a year later i go just to look at some other cars and they asked me if i wanted an appraisal, i said sure, they came back told me 22.5k is what my car was worth, in one year a car that was worth 39k to them is now worth 22...xxx...no way, my cars private sale value is 31k right now... theres a sucker born every minute, if your one of the,m then this place is for you, dont buy from here you can cant a far better deal in VA.

This dealership and service is a joke. They are rude, unprofessional and do not know what they are doing. We have had nothing but problems with this dealership and will never go back. They didn't want to honor our warranty on our 2010 Hyundai Elantra when it was a defective transmission. We had to drive to Virginia to get it fixed. The customer service rep Amanda should be fired. She is very argumentative and rude. Then they used masking take to fix an electrical problem on our vehicle and had the nerve to blame it on another body shop. This place is a joke.

She was patient as we drove at least 6-7 cars - very knowledgeable and professional and graciously answered all of my questions. As it looked like the 2014 Escape was what we wanted - she went above and beyond, coordinating the various packages and equipment that we wanted. We were not necessarily looking forward to the process of buying a car - but Emily, Stewart and the rest of the Hall Ford Team worked really hard to make it a wonderful experience! was on vacation in the Outerbanks and had a problem with my Ford Expedition that was not fixed after 3 visits to my home dealer in MD. contacted Hall and was put in touch with Tara Perkins in service. she just grabbed the issue and worked thru all prior issues with my home dealer, and quickly got me in for repairs. She was remarkably patient (i was not happy....) and just plain handled things. Jay Nixon, the tech, explained everything to me and corrected the problem - knowledgable and patient. Hall got me a free loaner ( a cool jeep) for the period they had my car. David Camper, head of sales, even offered to shuttle the car back after repair to my vacation location...just terrific top to bottom.!!! Never been to a dealer anywhere near as good from a customer service perspective.

Tyler McDonald immediately helped me out. I told him what I was looking for in a vehicle and he matched me with the perfect car on the lot. He was very patient and willing to work with me. Even though the car I was looking at was actually underpriced, I wasn't sure we would be able to meet on our numbers. I was returning home from Nags Head on a Saturday when my check engine light began flashing. Took the truck to the nearest garage which happened to be the Chevy dealership in Kitty Hawk. They told me it would be best to take the car to a Ford dealership as it appeared the problem would be an expensive warranty repair and they recommended Hall in EC. Though it appeared they had a full service bay, they took me right away and put their lead mechanic on my truck. The entire staff made me feel my issue was their own, going above and beyond to keep me informed every 15 minutes as to what was going on. I felt that if there was any way they could have put my truck back on the road that day, they would have made it happen. Unfortunately, they had to order parts which meant the truck would have to stay for awhile and there was no way I could drive it home. They then spent a significant portion of their day trying to get me home as there were no rental cars left locally. As it was Saturday on Memorial Day weekend we finally found a car in Virginia Beach. Needless to say, I left the dealership telling my wife that this Service Department should be used as the example as how customer service should be done! As I make the trek to the Outer Banks several times a year, I will make it a point to bring my truck in for routine maintenance whenever the opportunity becomes available. Kudos to the GM for having such a competent and pleasant staff in the service department.

Service department is POOR. We have a 2010 Hyundai Elantra with only 58,000 miles with a automatic transmission that was starting to run rough. When stopped it would race into gears or slip. We took it in to the service department and they said to get a coolant flush and transmission flush. We did and the problem didn't go away. Then they told us that Firestone didn't put in the correct transmission flush which is a load of BS. It all comes down to they didn't' want to fix the problem and guarantee our warranty. We then took it to Priority Hyundai in Chesapeake Va. They helped us right away. Put in a new transmission and gave us a loaner car. I will never take my car or truck to Hall Ford Hyundai again. They are rude to their customers and do not know what they are doing. They could have easily fixed this problem.

I went to purchase a new or used vehicle from this company and was extremly disappointed. I test drove a few cars that I liked and when we sat and talked numbers they could not get their numbers straight. They kept coming back with higher numbers and playing games. Their management team in sales is horrible. This place looks like it would close any minute and it should. They had me drive back and forth to their store to talk numbers and options and knowing what I wanted they kept steering further and further away from it. Within days of having a child they wanted me to drive back and check out their options again and once again was a waste of time. Unless you have tons of money in gas to keep driving back and forth for nothing ( coming from OBX ) and want service that is the worse I have ever seen, go to this dealership. They love games.

On July 23rd I made an appointment to get 4 new tires and have a sensor checked. Appointment was for July 26th at 8:30 a.m. I got there at 8:15. I waited as the process should have been only a few hours to replace 4 in stock tires and check a sensor. It took 7 hours and one sensor had to be ordered. The car sat there almost all day with no wheels on it and each time I checked on it there was no mechanic around the car. The service dept. could be more efficient.

Stephen was a pleasure to work with as his knowledge of the vehicle and not pressuring me allowed us to relax and make a decision. He went out of his way to give me the best deal I could find. When the preliminary paperwork was completed I was introduced to Steve and Toney from the F&I department. Once again, they went above and beyond to get us the best finance rate and were not pushy. Furthermore, they all brought to our attention additonal incentives that were available to us that we were unaware of. After a brief presentation and explanation of the extended service plan and paint protection products it was time to sign the dotted line. When I specifed that we weren't interested in the extra services, they valued my decision and we sealed the deal.

Why a "Five"?? Because they EARNED it! I am not an easy sale. My 2008 F-150 was/is a great truck, so "browsing" for a new truck, buying was not a priority. However, Ford's commitment to improvement, the fact that I was considering a 4X4, and knowing about the new designed engine platforms, I decided to have a look. Jamie and Todd had to WORK to get me to purchase. Giving up a 50K miles, 20+mpg around town truck was not going to be easy. So both of these people met my demands. They searched out and found what I was looking for. Had it delivered, and made the changes--I hate "bling" so they removed the chrome "trinkets"--accepted my conditions, and remained pleasant throughout the event. I am now the pleased, proud owner of a 2011 F-150 STX, 4X4, with the twin overhead cam, 5.0 engine. With the dealer added Tonneau cover, on my recent trip to Montebello, Va. and then on to Boone NC. and back to Hertford, NC. I averaged 20+ mpg. And that includes some of the four wheel drive dirt mountain roads I drove while hunting in Virginia. I did the speed limit on the highway, 55, 60 and 70 with absolutely no trouble.Bottom line: Fantastic Truck, tremendous people at the dealership, and averall, a completely wonderful experience. We almost did not go to Hall Ford because of the bad reviews we saw on the website, but we decided to give them a chance an it was worth it. They had a very friendly sales staff (jack hardy) and when we ran into a problem instead of brushing us off the General Manager (Nick Vendt) steped in and found a solution. We were all very pleased and very impressed by everyone in the store including the financial department. We were in and out of there before we knew it. Stan was very helpful from the moment I walked into the dealership. Obviously financing and money down is important to close the deal, but that wasn't Stan first concern. His first concern was what I was looking for and what I could and couldn't live with. After we test drove a couple of vehicles, I made my selection. Stan then went to work to get it financed for me, which was not going to be an east task. When it looked as if I might not be able to get the exact car I wanted, Stan discussed with me other vehicles which had the equipment and options I was looking for but in a model they knew I could get financed in. When it became apparent I would go witht he other vehicle, but out of reluctance he stopped me. Expressing my happiness with the vehicle I chose was the most important thing and I shouldn't settle. The Hall Team got together and were sucessful in getting me into the original vehicle I wanted. I could not be happier. They Hall Team did a GREAT job!

On my annual visit to OBX with my family my CPO Ford Explorer will not come off park gear lever neither would the AC work. I called the Ford roadside assistance and I was told the closest dealership will be Halls Ford, Elizabeth City, NC.I made an appointment for the next day and drove 60 miles to the dealership. I was greeted warmly by Shannon who walked me through the process and said she will have the tech take a look at the truck first thing in the morning. Around 10:00 AM I receive a call from Shannon stating that the tech was unable to detect the cause for the fault and would need to charge me a second hr of labor which equals to $120. I authorized it since I was out of town and had no other means. I received another call from Shannon close to 12:30 p.m and said that they where still unable to diagnose the problem and the estimate would be around $1023 without any guarantees that they would be able to fix it. At that point I told her to just return the car as is. When I went to the dealership there was a total of $390.00 waiting for me. There was a charge of $45 for shop supplies. I questioned that and she took it off. The other charges was $120/hr for 2 hours labor and AC check. The revised bill was $329.77 and the car was not fixed. I would agree a dealership charging a flat diagnostic fee, but what irritates me is that they are charging me for each hour they spend on my car due to their lack of ability to fix my car. For minor oil changes this might be a place to go but I would stay from this place if you have anything major. IF you are out of towner forget about it. I believe the advisor was nice, but there is nothing much she can do if her mechanics are inept

He was friendly and let me know about the different options I could get with the vehicle and even offered to drive my wife to work if she needed to drop the vehicle off for service. I was in need of a vehicle after having back surgery, doc recommended an SUV. I shopped the internet, compared prices and vehicle specs. I didn't have to buy new this time. So I found the Ford Escape on line. It had an internet discount. Went this moring and saw Stan Wilkins, he made this experience the most pleasant I have ever had buying from a dealership. Friendly and courtious, most positive in the sale and financing. Went over the vehicle with me and explained all of the different changes since my last SUV, a 2003 Ford Explorer. The transactionn only took 2 hours, yeah 2 hours. I have purchased Lincoln Mercury and Ford products in the past and did not receive the quality of customer service that I received today. The F&I guy Steve worked me a remarkable deal with the extended warranty and the different paint and interior protections. This dealership has recently changed ownership, I will say that it is for the better. I have found a dealership that I call call mine. I will only buy from Hall Ford of Elizaabeth City. Kudos to the entire team.

My overall experience was very good. John is a great salesman and an asset to your business. He greeted me as soon as I arrived on the property, asked questions, showed me what was there and even asked the sales manager if he knew of anything. The sales manager said he "just the truck for me" and he had been driving it since it arrived on the lot.The truck had high milage but the price was right! I picked the truck up the next day after it was inspected and cleaned. The only problem I had is when I picked it up and drove off the lot, I realized there was no gas in the tank. I barely made it to the gas station. My suggestion would be to at least give your customers a little gas in the car/truck they've purchased whether it is new or used.So far I've been very pleased with my truck and would recommend John O'Conner and Hall's automative to anyone looking to purchase a new or used vehicle.

I purchased a used 2008 Ford Escape from Hall Ford yesterday, March 25, 2011. I did my research prior to visiting the showroom and had visited other Ford dealers and CarMax as well. I knew the numbers and knew the value of the trade-in. The salesman, Sales Manager, General Manager and the Finance manager were all great to work and were creative in getting to the numbers I wanted. I left with having had a pleasurable experience, a new (used) vehicle and a deal that I was extremely pleased with. I highly recommend Hall Ford and specifically this team to any potential buyers. I might also add, that I have never before felt this way about any group of car salesmen or dealerships before.

Reading about and driving, seeing in person are very different things. I couldn't make up my mind. Rick was very patient. He answered my questions, let me test drive MANY cars, understood when I went to other dealerships to compare. Tolerated my occasional impulsiveness,then reluctance until we found the perfect little Escape, in the color I wanted with the features I wanted and at a nice end of year, great financing price. Ford diesel truck was using coolant on a trip from Texas. Major problem diagnosed and repaired- bad head gasket, plugged oil cooler. Kept me informed, mechanic (Charles) took time to show me the vehicles problems, and why it was a major repair. Everything is working correctly now. Even though it was a major job (cab had to be lifted off frame!) everything was put back together correctly.We are very pleased. We had never been to Elizabeth City or this dealership before. Thanks
