I recently purchased a used truck at Handy's Chevrolet and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Having been to local dealership earlier in the week I was under the impression selling a used vehicle was not a priority. Fortunately, this was not the case at Handy's. I was connected with Seth Fletcher in sales and was immediately impressed by his approachable nature and attentiveness. We were given space to make our own decisions and when the time came, he was direct and helpful to address our concerns. While I am sure used sales are not the most lucrative you wouldn't know it by the demeanor of the crew at Handy's. I was driving through the dealership (both Chevy and Toyota) and was approached by a well groomed young man who immediately shook my hand and made it a point to shake my wife's. Before that I had two young men walk right by me. One was smoking and the other had his sleeves rolled up and his shirt half untucked. neither seemed to want to greet us. I explained that I was just looking and he told me he understood. He answered all of my questions and did not pressure either of us. I respect that. I could tell immediately that he was military. Though I have decided to purchase a Dodge it was not because of this gentleman. It was convenience for our commute. Anyone interested in a GM needs to come see this young man.

I recently purchased a used truck from Handy Chevrolet. I am from northern NY and I searched a TON of websites. Not only did Handy have one of the best selections of trucks in the price/year/mileage range I was looking for, their site was the most comprehensive one I saw; the vehicle I bought had 99 photos, so I felt like I knew it before I ever went to their dealership! Once I went there, Matt Artus helped me through the transaction seamlessly, along with Jim Lash helping with the financing details. The truck was in great shape, detailed immaculately, and they gave me a fair price on my trade in. The only thing wrong with the truck was a broken spring in the fuel door, and Matt had the entire fuel door replaced, even coming in early to make sure it got taken care of before I arrived to pick up the truck. Then he personally helped take the cap off the truck I was trading and put it on the truck I was buying. He definitely went the extra mile. I would say it was a very good experience and would recommend shopping there!

My Toyota lease is up in a few months so I asked Matt a few questions about what I should do. He didn't pressure me at all and we are super grateful that he was the salesman that helped us. My experience with a couple of local dealers recently has been frustrating at best with their fast talk, canned one-liners, and gimmicks, but when I walked into Handy's in St. Albans...WOW...I was quickly test driving the car I was interested in that I had seen online while the vehicle I wanted to trade in was evaluated. The salesman, Steve Honahan, was completely knowledgeable about the SUV, that model's options, operations, and history, and was a real pleasure to chat with. Shortly after the test drive offers were made, negotiations were listened to and well respected, and we quickly came to an honest and reasonable agreement with no pressure felt by me. Jim Lash, the sales manger, was also very knowledgeable, super friendly, and explained all the final options and details available to me in a very comprehensive manner using layman's terms and real life, easy to understand examples. I am super happy with my purchase, with the people at Handy's, and with the whole experience overall. I will strongly recommend them for anybody I know looking to buy a new or used vehicle.

PLEASE EVERONE WATCH OUT BUYING USED!!!I purchased a 2008 Ford F-250 with 66,000 Miles and a 4 year warrenty. on my way home the truck was breaking down so the next day I brought the truck back to have it looked at where they kept it for 12 days doing the time and chains. when I picked it up I didn't even make it out of st albans before it was doing it all over again.so I drove it home to see if it would stop which it didn't so I brought it back the next day cause it was shaking and banging and xxxxxx very loud. when I got there they told me that the motor was blowing up but nothing would be done until I fully blew the motor up. so I took the truck home and drove it for 3 days where I was driving to work when I was driving up a hill and the motor blew up. the truck was then towed to the dealership where I got told that the truck had to sit for another 10 days before anything could be done cause Handys wanted to wait for the warrenty to kick in because handys was responsible for the first 30 days but they didn't want to have to take responsibility for the truck so they asked me to wait and please keep quiet. after the 10 days I got told thy were putting a salvaged motor in it where I said no that I would pay the difference for a new motor to be put in. which ended up being $1900. when it was finished I went to pick the truck up and leave with it and the cab was scratched up and the clutch stuck right to the floor board and the brake pedal didn't even want to work so I turned around and pulled back in to tell the mechanic where they all told me that it was in my head and I needed to just drive it cause they worked on it enough. so I ran it for the 1000 miles where they were supposed to do a check up but everytime I called I got ignored. I noticed the truck kept leaking oil. so I went to get it looked at where I got told that they put the oil pan so tight to the transmission it cracked so I had to have handys put a new oil pan in where I had to go rent a truck for work so they could fix it cause they refused to give me a rental truck to use even though its in my contract which cost me $1200 cause they had my truck for 10 days where over half of them the truck sat out in the parking lot. I kept asking them to check the clutch and brakes where they told me that I needed brake pads and a slave cylinder for the clutch but they wanted to charge me over $3000 for something I didn't have an issue with before they did the motor. so I brought it to a registered for mechanic where they told me the brakes weren't working cause the lines were full of air and the clutch was broke cause you could see where the transmission got slammed so hard together with the clutch when the motor was done that it bent the forks on the transmission and it broke the clutch apart cause it wasn't installed properly and the pressure plated was worpped and also the throw out bearing was tweaked. I tried telling handys what was done but they wouldn't listen and said that it was my fault so it would be my issue and they weren't taking responsibility. so I had my mechanics put a new clutch, pressure plate, slave cylinder, brake pads, rotors, fix the bent forks on the transmission plus there was lots of labor which all cost me $2900. Now that I had real mechanics work on it the truck has run the best it ever has. so I will not be letting handys work on any vehicle again. WARNING for people to watch what you do when your dealing with HANDYS CHEVROLET!!

2 days after we traded a vehicle for a certified model, we received an email from Steve about a Traverse that was available that could replace our 2006 Envoy. We made an appointment for the next day. We took a test drive and decided that we really liked it and wanted to start the process to trade and purchase. My boyfriend is a farmer who works for family and doesn't get paid much and I just started back to work from maternity leave and am working minimal hours until we can start daycare. My boyfriend has no credit. I have credit, but limited experience with a car loan, so it was quite a task getting us financed for anything. We also will be looking to get another vehicle in the next year or two and by getting us into a reasonably priced lease now, that may be possible. We are very happy with all the hard work they put in to get us financed. So if you have a tight budget or bad/no credit, don't give your hopes up, pay them a visit and see what they can do for you cuz they just might be able to find something. We will definitely be going back to them for our next vehicle.

Right from the start I loved their approach. After I spotted a certified pre-owned Volt online, I sent Handy Chevrolet an e-mail and they got back to me right away via email. Then, just a few minutes later, I've received a link to a freshly made YouTube video made by salesperson Sam, giving me a tour of the vehicle inside out. This was really awesome! From there, I made an appointment with Sam for a test drive and although I showed up early, she gracefully met with me immediately. Her youthfulness and enthusiasm for her her job never impeded on her professional, no pressure approach. She had very good knowledge of the vehicle and when in doubt never hesitated to check with a colleague. This was my first test drive of an EV/hybrid, but I was conquered right away. From there, the trade-in of my current vehicle, the negotiation and financing were a breeze thanks to Sam, Ken and Jim. They took care of everything including contacting my insurance company, transferring my registration, preparing my Volt, and a few hours later, I hit the road: all electric! I was also introduced to Amanda and David in the Service Department, who although very busy on this Friday afternoon were very nice to me. All in all, a VERY positive experience and if you want a great salesperson, I definitely recommend Sam to your attention.

I recently purchased a motorcycle that someone had traded in at Handy Chevy. The bike was very reasonably priced and a hard to find model so I thought it would be worth the 2-hour drive to give it a test drive and, if I liked it, buy it. After carefully looking it over, I asked if I could drive it, so Randy took a photocopy of my license and went to put a plate on. Shortly after, he came to me and informed me that Handy's insurance didn't cover the bike off their property so my "ride" was restricted to the parking lot! I clearly informed them before I got there that I'd need to ride it before pulling the trigger!After my mini-ride, I decided to purchase the bike, so despite having brought cash, I had to spend time, with the finance manager; a fairly pompous individual that didn't even shake my hand when he met me. After first miscounting my cash (he eventually got the count right), he then whacked me with a $250 documentation that he proceeded to lie about and claimed that the State of Vermont required the fee! Apparently, a car dealer can't assign a 30-day plate to a motorcycle (or so I was told) but they can require you to sign a "Receipt of Temporary Registration" form. Again, the finance manger blamed VT for this. So I had to sign a paper saying I received a temporary registration, when in fact, I did not. So, overall, not the best experience I ever had at a a car dealer. Randy, the sales guy, was a decent sort and was helpful with making a video of the bike to review before I drove up. The finance guy, not so helpful. I can honestly say that if I had to deal with him again, I'd go to a different dealer.

We were not considering leasing but, Matt made it very easy to understand every aspect of leasing. Seen this ad thru cars.com, the price was very fair. So I inquired about the vehicle to have a prompt response on how I wanted to see the truck. I told them about my trade, they said "No problem" (I was worried with an older/higher mileage SUV-05'Santa Fe 147K miles) but they worked with me and got me more than I anticipated from a dealer. The truck was just like the pictures on the internet, no hidden blemishes or unforseen rust. I came from 12914 which is 2hr drive to St. Albans, but was well worth the trip. I recommend this dealer. I came in and sat down with Frank Marshall, a salesman, and he immediately helped me pick out the truck I thought I wanted (a new Colorado). Jason Rodriguez, the sales manager who handles trades, gave me a fair price on my car and we worked out a very good deal. I did decide to think about it and call around to see if another dealer might be able to beat their price - and nobody in Vermont or upstate New York could. Plus, when I called these other dealers, they acted like I was bothering them by calling and inquiring. So, I went back to Handy's to see Frank and Jason, and was fully prepared to order a Colorado. Out of curiosity, I asked them to run numbers on a Silverado (my dream car) and was shocked when the payments on the exact Silverado I wanted came back to be less than the Colorado. Today I'm closing on my dream car, with the help of Frank, Jason and finance manager Jim Lash. These guys are pros, and they'll make you happier than you ever thought a new car could make you. Highly recommend these guys, especially Frank Marshall.

We took delivery of a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire for Valentine Day and so far so good. Mr. Randy Stanley was extremely patient with us, because we have asked tons of questions, that he nicely answered. He really made the long decisional process feel like a great pleasure, which is very important when you buy this kind of car, because you do not buy this type of car very frequently in a life time. This past weekend we went up to Handys Chevrolet with the INTENTIONS of just looking at quality used trucks. We were paired up with Randy who went out of his way to dig through the snowy lot and find the truck we were looking at online. We test drove the truck, then went back inside and looked at another. Randy then went back out and trudged through the snow to find the other one. We test drove that one as well. We decided on what truck we wanted with NO haggling from the salesman. We went up the next day after Randy had called us back to sign off on the new truck and pick it up. Handy Chevrolet was great to deal with but Randy made us feel like we were not just there to buy a vehicle. Excellent sevice!!!

This review was offered to the owner of Handy Chevrolet in St Albans Vermont (Dan Handy) before it was posted. I know Dan is very busy, but he chose to not respond to this review before I posted it. ------ This was my 6th attempt to buy from Handy's since 1988 (4 GM attempts 1997, 2003, 2007, and 2014- 1 dodge attempt 1988 and 1 Toyota attempt 1992 ). I usually ask them to give me their best price and walk away with it and can beat it handily by many hundreds of dollars. This time, I made the mistake of letting them know that their price wasn't competitive and I've had to pass on their offers many times over the last few decades. Over the next several days they actually gave me a very competitive price. I accepted and agreed to drive the 25 miles from my home to the dealership to sign the purchase agreement to lock in the vehicle at the agreed upon price. After going through most of the paperwork, we had a bit of a glitch and they said they couldn't honor our original agreement. They blamed GM for the rules that GM dictate. I walked away in disgust.. My research suggests that Handy Chevrolet may have learned about this detail that ended our deal at the last minute and that this wasn't a premeditated ploy on their part. . But I think it is their job too know what they are agreeing to - I felt very strongly that I should not have been sitting in that chair being told that this car was going to cost me $600 more than we agreed to, after driving an hour to sign their paperwork to lock in the deal as they requested.

We went to see Frank Marshall because we bought our 2005 Chevy Silverado Truck from him and he was great back then. He greeted us on Saturday the 8th of November outside the front door with hand shakes. We talked about what we wanted, test drove a few vehicles and decided we wanted the 2015 Chevy Traverse. We decided to lease it. Frank got all the paperwork together and on Monday he called to tell us we were all set. Tuesday we drove off the lot with our new Chevy Traverse. I have MS, and when it no longer was easy for me to get in and out of my SUV, I knew I had to look for something more practical. I am someone that always bought new vehicles every 2-3 years (back in Florida), and had a great relationship with my dealer there. With medical issues and the costs involved, I knew I needed a reliable, but modestly priced used vehicle. Not knowing any dealers here, I first looked at local dealers and only found very worn out, high mileage vehicles, discouraged, I looked to the Internet, and that's when I found Handycars.com! They had a link marked cars under $12K, so of course I looked! I found two immediately, and clicked the link asking for more information. The very next day Randy Stanley, from Handy Chevrolet sent me an email with a video tape of one of the vehicles! I was more than impressed, and since they were almost two hours away from me, this video tape helped me see inside and out, and get a great narrative of the car, by Randy. This not only saved $ on gas, but it saved me a four hour round trip, which at the time, I couldn't make due to my health. Because of the video, I determined that specific car wasn't what I was looking for, so I called and spoke with Randy, and asked if he could make me another video on a minivan they had. He was so nice, and more than happy to make one, and get the answers to all of my questions. That same day I was watching the new video, and knew immediately, that this minivan would be perfect for my needs, and for my two large dogs. Now here's where Randy and Jim Lash went above and beyond for me. Because of an MS flare, I couldn't drive, I knew I wanted the van, and knew I had to act fast before someone else grabbed it (This van was spotless, no rust, garaged kept, 1 owner, a clean CarFax which Handy Cars provide free for every car, and it had less than 58K miles on it for a 10 year old vehicle!). Randy Stanley provided me with such great information, pictures and a thorough video, which allowed me to feel confident in making this purchase sight unseen! Yes, sight unseen! Once we agreed on everything, Jim Lash, the Finance Manager, made it so easy for me to get the information together that they needed, along with my payment for the van, and when all was received, Jim overnighted me the paperwork to sign, and a day later arrangements were made to have the van picked up. A day later, Randy greeted the guys who came to pick up the van, went over the van, the paperwork, and even made sure it was gas'd up for the two hour drive back! I couldn't be more thrilled at the quality of this van, but what made this long distance, sight unseen purchase so effortless and seamless, was the professionalism and the kind demeanor of Randy Stanley, and Jim Lash! Without all of their emails, phone calls, and the answering of all my many questions, I felt comfortable knowing I was getting exactly what they assured me I would, and that's a beautiful, almost like new, 10 year old minivan. I admit that a minivan is not something I ever imagined myself driving, but when life threw me a curve and MS limited my mobility, I had no choice but to adapt. I'm confident that this van will be perfect for me and the dogs, for my disability, and it gives me peace of mind, knowing it's a quality vehicle that won't leave me stranded on the side of the road. You made buying a used vehicle less scary, and buying something sight unseen, a breeze! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Randy Stanley & Jim Lash...You guys are the best! Anyone on the fence about buying a used car, don't be...these guys and this dealership will have your back! Plus, they're really NICE guys! There was some miscommunication regarding financing as Jim Lash was out of the office for a few days, but once that hiccup was cleared up, I was able to take delivery of my vehicle within 24 hours. I came to Handy Chevrolet in a but of a bind. I didn't have to wait at all since a salesperson was available right away. While the process took longer than I would have liked, since my wife and I had our 4 kids with us, we were grateful for the large waiting area with a TV for the kids to watch. The staff was also very understanding of how tired and crabby our kids were getting since we had been travelling. We also appreciated the fact that Carmen and Jim stayed at least 2 hours after closing, on a Saturday no less, to make sure the deal got done. We live an hour away from Handy and it wasn't feasible for us to come back the next week.

I was really pleased with the initial contact. My sales associate emailed me a YouTube of the car and thought it was very clever. I did a test drive and liked the vehicle, although the numbers didn't work for my family. After some figuring, I was able to make it work. That is when the service went south. I had to call them 2 consecutive days to make this happen..just didn't seem like they wanted to go the extra mile. This included both the sales team and the finance folks. If I didn't want this vehicle so bad, I would have walked.

I had been browsing online for two months for vehicles in my area of VT and surrounding areas and when I found my 2005 Honda CRV Of choice online I emailed Handy Chevy and instantly received a response from Jackie who answered my questions timely and very accurately, she then put me in touch with Jason R and we set up a time to see the car that met my schedule and he answered any question I asked and if he didn't know it he researched it and got me the answer. I ended up buying the car the same day and being over an hour from Handy thay met my needs by doing this all in one day, they used my local Credit Union of choice for financing and Jim L was not pushy in trying to sell me anything I did not want, as other dealers have in the past! After buying the car there were a few minor things we overlooked the day of purchase and I called Jason to let him know and he gave me the number to call service and I spoke with Steve in Toyota service and he instantly supported me and we set up a time for me to come in that met my schedule. When I arrived there they have the overhead doors entrance where you drive right in for service and in VT that is great. I met Pat in Service, he also met my needs and also fixed one of the issues right there in the drive thru area and also gave me the stuff I came to pick up to fix myself. I will tell everyone to go to Handy's for a great experience and am glad I found the car I was looking for at Handy's and I plan to give this car to my daughter in a few years so was a win win for me and for Handy's to make a new customer not just a sale. Fantastic! I have not bought a car locally in 15 years because local dealers wouldn't bend on prices or didn't seem to care what I wanted as much as what they wanted to sell me. Frank and Jim at Handy's were outstanding, no pressure at all, they laid out my different options and told me what was in stock. Back in June of 2013 I purchased a new Chevrolet Sonic and had a very pleasant experience in choosing the vehicle and with my salesman. But after the winter this year and where I live I realized I needed something bigger and all wheel drive. So I went back this month and traded it in for a Chev CTV and went with the same salesman from the first purchase. I had Randy Stanley as a salesman and couldn't ask for anyone better. We met with Jason Rodriguez just before dinner on Friday night, to discuss our trade-in, our financial options, and what we were looking for in a vehicle. After some very respectful and good-natured back and forth, we decided on terms and a vehicle and headed out for the night. With Monday being a holiday, we thought we wouldn't hear back from the dealer until Tuesday. What a surprise it was to hear from Jason first thing Saturday morning that Jim Lash had pulled it all together and would be ready to deliver our vehicle at 3pm. When we arrived Jim was still with another customer, but Jason kept us company with his great personality until Jim was ready. Well, it was worth the few minutes as Jim had not only gotten us what we were looking for, but at a lower payment than what we had asked of him. While we took care of business with Jim, Jason got our new car prepared, plates and all. We were in and out of there in no time, and Jason sat in the car with us to ensure we knew what we were doing with Onstar, as well as the other controls that we needed to know about in our new vehicle. As an internet used car customer trying to judge a car from afar and looking for a specific color and equipment combo I required more info than just the regular ad photos. Jason Rodriguez took the time to send me detailed photos of the cosmetics and description of the areas of my concern. However, after leaving the parking lot we noticed the dust on the dash, the dirt on the inside windshield, including glue from a sticker on the inside drivers side, which led us to believe the service dept. did not do a great job in prepping the car for us to take delivery. The inside windshield is very dirty, to be a new car out of the show room.

We drove 2+ hours to look at trucks knowing that Handy had 4-5 used ones on the lot. We knew we wanted a Tundra with a 5.7L engine and double cab. 4WD goes without saying here in Vermont but they are hard to find at a reasonable price. We drove one that was more than we wanted then came across another that was right in every way. Jason Rodriguez took us for a test drive and we loved the truck. He made the purchasing process painless he even got in touch with our insurance company to get the vehicle added to our policy! Randy was wonderful! He actually listened to what my husband and I needed in a vehicle and followed up with several good suggestions. When we went into the dealership to look at the cars, Randy met us with a warm smile and lots of factual information. His salesmanship was honest and caring-this made it easy to choose the Toyota and close the deal in one afternoon. There was no harsh pressure, we weren't dragged around the lot or shown vehicles we weren't interested in. My daughter, my husband, and I all test drove the Rav4 and Randy listened to our comments and let us make up our own minds. The price was a bit higher than we had planned on spending but Randy explained the market value of the Rav4 and the value. His approach made this purchase happen seamlessly. My husband and I had looked for a vehicle at dealerships on Shelburne Road in So. Burlington and the salespeople felt like vultures attacking us. The pressure and lack of information they demonstrated made this feel like a nightmare! My son-in-law told us to call Handy's and we did. Randy went above and beyond our hopes and really delivered. He was extremely respectful, an active listener, researched what we needed and found options that worked. Randy made this process flow so smoothly that it felt like we were just having coffee with an old friend. I was car shopping after receiving a pre-approved car loan through RoadLoans.com and had test driven many cars at various dealerships. I went to Handy's on a whim just to look and was met by Jason Rodriguez to whom was very warm, welcoming and just an overly nice guy. Upon choosing the car that fit me and had every option I was looking for and could afford I informed Jason of my unique financing to which he a little hesitant but also told me not to worry that he would do WHATEVER it took to get me in my new car. I met with finance who told me to rest easy they were going to take care of me. Not only did they take care of me and get me into my beautiful car, they got me traditional financing through GM. I was beyond THRILLED!!!!! I have purchased many vehicles and never have I had the buying experience that I had through Jason and Handys. This was the first time I had made a large purchase and I was extremely nervous. I had questions to ask and told my self to be confident but I was a deer in the headlights. I had an overall positive experience with Handy Chevrolet (even though I actually bought a Toyota). I love the car (it's a 2006 Prius), though I did feel a little underwhelmed with the trade-in value I was given for my pickup truck. Jason was great, however, to work with, and took good care of me as far as showing me the intricacies of such a techie new car (the truck I traded in still had a cassette deck, manual transmission, and manual crank windows), hooking me up with some touch up paint at cost for a few little dings here and there, and being willing to work around my schedule in order to meet to see the cars I was interested in. Reg was also quite helpful on the paperwork end.

I worked with Carmen Guttilla at Handy Chev to purchase a used 2002 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer. Carmen was a delight to work with. The Explorer needed 4 new tires to pass inspection which the dealership did as part of the deal. What impressed me was that when they did the inspection they also discovered that it needed new springs and did this too (at the same price). The Explorer is fully loaded with all the bells and whistles ; no rust and is the nices 'used' vehicle i've driven (my wife drives our new Honda Accord Ex. She's a bit jealous of the ride. My daughter did tease me by telling me that the Explorer used to have the Nickname , the Exploder; refering to engine issues and i've read many consumer reviews about transmission issues.... i'm hoping that the V8 eng in this one is a gem and that the 2001 redesign eliminated the transmission issues. So far, so good!

The first day our family came to look for an Avalon to fit our 6'3" & 5'10" teenage boys,Jason was gracious and accommodating as our taller son was not with us, Jason, being 6'5" "sat" in for him in the back seat to test for leg room. Jason was low key and was willing to work at our pace. Two weeks later I came down with our trade to talk prices and made the deal happen. my husband was not able to be there as he was at work in Newport and would not be able to make it out to St Albans for 4 weeks due to prior commitments. First time customer at Handy Chevy / Toyota in St. Albans, VT. We looked throughout Burlington - St .Albans, VT and test drove a variety of cars, trucks, and SUVs. It was a discouraging process, until we went to Handy Chevy / Toyota.. We were looking around in the parking lot. Then a professional / cheerful salesman came over and LISTENED to what we were looking for. Jason R asked us questions after listening to us. He did not force us into anything but just showed us vehicles and explained they types of options available and what they had. We went for a few test drives, Handy's had a huge selection of vehicles there and it made the choices hard. We discussed the pricing, the types of warrantees, and trade in value of my current truck. Jason was very straightforward and clear through this process. The process was smooth. A lot less stressful than other dealers that we have been involved with in the past. Jason R was able to talk to us from the beginning and then make the sale without going in and out of another office to get special permission for prices or trade ins. He even went of his way to help us get a hitch put on the vehicle and then took time to show us what a lot of the features of the vehicle are. We ended up choosing a 2011 Toyota Highlander.. it is perfect for our family. It seats 7, has a back up camera, and amazing quality inside and out... it has everything we were looking for. I would recommend going to Handy's Chevy & Toyota and asking for Jason R if you are looking for a new or used vehicle. He will be upfront, honest and very easy to work with. Jason R. was a pleasure to work with. He was friendly and seemed genuine, honest and helpful. When we found an area of the car left uncleaned upon purchase/pick up, he was quick to have it taken care of. Unfortunately, we did feel rushed and pressured to buy since we were told the car would go to auction if we didn't commit to buy it within 48 hours. That felt gimicky and suspicious, but hopefully the car will turn out to be a reliable one. If it does, it seems we got a good price for it, but as other buyers have noted, we got less for our trade in than expected. Reg also fit us into his busy day and was thorough, but not obnoxiously so, with his explanation of paperwork and extended service contracts. I know several friends who have reported having had good experiences with Handy's, so we are hoping this car works out well for us (with no mechanical surprises) since the cars here are not certified.

Excellent customer service!! Not an unfriendly employee in the place. I respect the honesty, straightforwardness and knowledge of my SP - Jason R. The pricing and quality of the used vehicles on Handy's lot was quite amazing. Don't be offended if you don't get what you think your trade in is worth - you are getting a better deal on the new used vehicle. All you have to do is compare to Heritage (who wont stop calling me...), 802 Toyota, etc. Hands down Handy's has the goods. They were very patient with my situation as well - which involved a 5 day marathon trying to get My Title Support to send me the title for my trade in. The only thing I can say I wasn't too enthused about would be having another loan through Citizens Bank (that is why only 3 stars for buying process). The process was fine - but I'm not a fan of Citizen's.

Handy's prices were very good compared to other dealerships, and having they have such a large selection it made choosing the right vehicle easier. My sales representative was Jason Rodriguez who made the experience very good. He was went over each vehicle I was interested in, answered every question that I had, didn't push the buying process, and he was able to negotiation a better trade in value. He worked with me for a few days where we were able to compromise and make a well suited deal. However, one piece of advise to those reading this, keep in mind that if you plan to pay your loan off early, it may be better to finance through a bank rather than a dealer because the dealer's interest is a fixed value, meaning that if you pay the loan off early you're not saving any money, whereas with a bank loan you can save some money by paying it off earlier.

Awful experience. After deciding not to purchase the original truck was looking at, the salesman drove a comparable truck to my house less than 30 minutes later to sell to me. While put on the spot, I decided I would look into it, and in the end decided to buy it after some research and a later test drive.During the week of getting things together (insurance, trade in, etc) I was interrupted numerous times at work by Handy's trying to speed the sale up. Very aggravating.Shortly after purchase I raised some general concerns about the vehicle which were never responded to until literally the day after my 30 day limited warranty expired. Even more-so, I was contacted via text (extremely unprofessional) asking how I liked the vehicle and hoping things were well.I had them check the alignment on the original truck I was looking at which turned out to be out of spec (pulled to the right dangerously down the road which is why I didn't buy it). The truck I purchased ended up being far out of alignment as well which makes me question the integrity and thoroughness of Handy's used car inspections prior to sale.During the sales process, Handy's seemed to jumble numbers and prices inconsistently. For example, they offered me a certain price for my trade in when I was looking at truck A, but offered me $3000 less for my trade in when I decided to buy truck B.As of today (10 weeks later), I've tried to contact service manager Joe Luneau with Handy Toyota regarding the same issues I've had with the vehicle's integrity and safety. Handy's have provided no answers, no resolutions, and showed no motivation to help. After numerous voicemails, e-mails, as well as contact with other service department employees, I have heard nothing back from Mr. Luneau. Overall Handy's seemed more interested in making a sale rather than helping me purchase a vehicle. I certainly will not be buying anything else from Handy Chevrolet or Handy Toyota in the future.

We originally started searching for vehicles on-line and found what we were looking for on Handy's website. After doing a "drive-by" after hours to confirm the car was still on the lot my wife and I went to go test drive the vehicle the next day.When we got to the lot the vehicle was in front of the Handy Toyota building and we went in there first. However we were mistaken and sent over to Handy Chevrolet's building. I would like to see some sort of sign or parking lot divider that lets you know what building you should go into.After going into Handy Chevrolet's building we were greeted kindly and introduced to Scott Colan. He is very approachable and knowledgeable. He was able to answer all of our questions about the vehicle, financing, warranty ect. And after we decided to buy, he was fully proficient in handling the purchase.After our paperwork was given to Reg Howard, we sat for a short while with Scott just talking about work, TV shows, and our families and places where we have lived. It was a good conversation with lots of laughing.Reg Howard was extremely good at the financing and the warranty side of things. We gave him a number that we were willing to work with and he did everything in his power to give us the most for what we were able to pay.Over all we would buy from here again and suggest this dealership to others.

Email Handys on Sunday, got a response on Monday and made arrangements to check out and test drive the vehicle on Tuesday evening. Uponarriving to Handys we were introducted to Allen Austin. My purchase of a 2011 Toyota 4Runner began as an impulse shopping roam while waiting for my 2005 Corolla to be serviced. I looked at the new 4Runner and like it. After picking up my Corolla I went next door to the used car section and looked at three 4Runners. Allen was very helpful and help me through the slightly longer process of trading in two cars toward the purchase of the 2011 4Runner. I feel that Allen and Joe gave me a fair trade in price for both vehicles and the process went very smoothly, although Reg's attempt to sell a financing option took longer than necessary. Jason was great & professional, he guided us through the whole process of buying our car via email, and made sure to come over and introduce himself to us while we were working with Mario. Mario was very nice and professional. It was nice to have such a caring salesman! Reg was also very nice and professional. The employees were very friendly, informative and professional. The whole overall experience was relaxed and made us feel comfortable and confident, we never felt pushed, or that we were wasting their time. Lori and the Service Manager, I can't remember his name, went over and above normal service expectations. The problem I was experiencing with the alarm system in my Hummer H2 was not an easy fix. The Service Manager did research on his own time to understand the operation of the "After Market" system and the effect it was having on the electrical system. I would not hesitate to tell my friends of my positive experience with the Handy dealership.

My husband and I were very happy with the customer service given us by Allen. He was very friendly and courteous. We were rather disappointed in how we were treated by Reg Howard when we went over our financing. We felt as though we were bullied into the extended warranty. That aside we would recommend Handys and Allen's services to anyone we know how is looking for a car. We are very happy with our purchase, just felt a little harassed about the warranty.

We had talked with Frank on the telephone stating we wold come over on Sat. We had told him we were looking for a new car and were interested in the new Cruze.Frank had seen us drive in,and came out to greet us. We bought a former leased Toyota Seinna from Handy Chevrolet. We drove out from South Burlington (past all the other dealerships we'd been to) to view Handy's stock. This dealership beat out all others in price, hands down. Our van was newer, with better mileage, maintenance and specs than the others we'd test driven and the interior was brilliant. Justin Matis was great to work with: we called him before we took the time to drive all the way out and told him our needs. He called us back when he had something that met us perfectly, didn't string us along and worked out a good deal with us. He's a guy who respects his cutsomers and works with them to get them what they need. When I took the van in for it's first service, my mechanic look at the service records Handy's gave us and told me the dealership had carried out the first major service after the car was traded in - another BIG savings! We will be buying from Handy's again. They're in a small enough community where reputations are earned and kept by service and integrity and they're an awesome dealership. I'm glad I listened to my neighbors and drove an hour out to give them a try. Give Justin Matis a call - you wont be disappointed.

Frank was very helpful and willing to do what was needed to get the deal done. I would definetly go back again. Frank gave me what i wanted for my trade in and was very willing to work on the price of my new car. We lived an hour away from the dealership and he had everything ready when we got there.

Handy Chevrolet and Justin Matis treated me very well and sold me a vehicle that I am very satisfied with. Justin did not pressure either me or my wife and in a very short time we found the truck that suited our needs. They were very patient with me since I didn't pick my truck up for more than a week, but I was not pestered in any way. I would gladly recommend Handy Chevrolet to any of my friends. I went in looking for a used equinox and ended up leaving with a new one for around the same monthly payment. Frank and the rest of the staff worked with me and helped to make sure and get me something that ii could afford. The staff was very accomidating in making sure that my mother and I were comfortable while we waited. I would and will go back as will my fiance.

We were met at the door by a customer sales rep. He pointed us to Justin, the salesrep that I had spoken with on the phone. He was with another customer, but took the time to show us to the customer waiting area, offered us drinks and showed us were the rest rooms were located. Within a few minutes he bought our the car we were interested in and we were able to look it over while he finished with his other customers. When we came back in we were once again greeted by another sales rep who again offered us drinks and showed us to the waiting area. Justin came in shortly after and we took the car for a test drive. Once we had settled on a price, they worked very hard to make sure that we were able to leave with our car that afternoon. We were very please with everyone that we had contact with. This was our fisrt visit here and will not be our last when we are in need of another vehicle, we will go to Handy first.

THere was an ample selection of late model used cars. It was convenient to look at information on them online before going to see them. I researched prices online and Handy's cars were priced very competitively. Also, the cars we wanted to see were available. When I called, I was immediately connected with Justin. When I told him the cars I was interested in, he said he would gas them up and have them waiting for me, which he did. He was knowledgeable, friendly, courteous and stayed past closing to be sure we were all set and that OnStar was activated. Overall, a smooth purchase and good experience.

Gave Mike Bushey a call to see what Handys had for the Chevy Equinox, as it was time to get an AWD vehicle. Told Mike what I wanted in the Equinox as far as payment and so on.Didn't tell him the color I wanted, interior or anything else. I totally put my trust in Mike. On the day I went to sign the papers and see the vehicle for the first time I was pleasantly surprised. Mike had choose the Black Equinox(he remembered this was my choice of color)the interior was a two tone (again a favorite). Lets just say, it is beautiful !!! He had taken care of the transfer of the Insurance,the setup of On Star and a lot more. The only thing I had to do was drive the car !I just want to say Thank you to Mike Bushey without you and your kindness Handy Chevrolet would not be the same. You are an asset to Handy and doing business there would not be the same without you.When you walk in to Handy Chevrolet you are treated like family and that is a great feeling. My experience at handy chevrolet was awesome with my salesman Justin. The deal was very quick and easy. Me and my father drove 5.5 hours and was at the dealership maybe 30 at most and drove right back home. Justin was very pleasant on the phone and even more in person. Service with a smile. I live close to NYC so in order to get my car to me they were very accommodating with meeting me halfway. When I am ready for an SS camaro I'll be seeing them again.

I have been purchasing or leasing a new car about every three years for the past 18 years. I will have to say that with Handy Chevrolet it was the best expierience with a new car purchase that I have had. I did a lot of reseach on the internet before the purchase/lease and sent emails to several dealers. Handy got back to me quickly and when it came time for a price on a specific vehicle they gave me their best price up front. It was a better price than other dealers and without all the annoying haggling. Our salesman was polite, proffessional, and knew what he was talking about. The vehicle was delivered as promised and the whole process was very quick.Everyone we dealt with at Handy was outstanding!

My husband was looking for a specific car and called to see what Handy had available and prices. He had also been working with another dealership. Since he was trading in a vehicle he visited Handy's. A tentative deal was negotiated. My husband left to wait for information from the other dealer. There were multiple calls to and from both dealers. Each time the Handy salesman was contacted he was available, courteous, helpful and did not pressure my husband. When we finally accepted Handy's deal the closing was completed in a very satisfactory manner.

Just dropped the car I bought from Handy Chevrolet off for the 5th major repair since I bought it two months ago. I would not trust anyone associated with this dealership. I have driven less than a thousand miles and already had to put a couple thousand dollars into the vehicle. They said the owner (or possibly the manager) had been using the car before I purchased it, which means they had to have been aware of at least some of the problems (like the broken fuel gauge). True it was a used car but they assured me it was in great shape. I expect to put some money into a used car, but not this much this quickly on a car with only 60K miles. The fuel gauge was stuck on full at the time I purchased it, which of course I did not notice until I had driven the vehicle for a few days. When I went to get that repaired I found out one of the ball joints was shot, even though Handy Chevrolet had passed the vehicle for a safety inspection just before I purchased it. A month and a half later the muffler fell off and a few days after I got that repaired the car wouldnt start because of a problem with the alternator. The lever to recline the passenger seat also broke off which sounds like a minor problem but costs a lot to repair. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HANDY CHEVROLET
