Kind of unbelievably good. My car got totaled and I needed a quick replacement before heading out for vacation. We were in and out of the dealership in 1 hour and 8 minutes with a newly leased Chevy Bolt for a great price. Tom was just a nice down to earth guy and the whole process was efficient. The place has a nice local vibe.

By far, the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Lie after lie after lie after lie. Whatever it took to keep the financing in-house. Bill Lockmeyer, pre-owned salesman, took us for fools - claiming our bank, Chase, failed to deliver the financing paperwork (nonsense); that our balance check bounced (there's enough money there to buy the car outright, twice over); the Finance Director saying he knows nothing about the situation (which I find very difficult to believe); and the list goes on. We wasted 4.5 hrs at the dealership for the purchase, which should have been a 30 minute transaction. I then had to take another day off work to settle the nonsense and get my plates and registration.Don't waste your time. There are other cars and better people who sell them.

I brought my 2008 Silverado in for several issues. My tire sensor was replaced, the O2 sensor was replaced, and a new air bag sensor was ordered. The error codes were cleared. I had an appointment for 8:00 A.M., it took until after 2:00 P.M. to get the truck back. The following Saturday I went back for the air bag sensor and to replace yet another part that caused the engine light to come back on. I had an appointment for 8:00 A.M., and I sat waiting for 4 hours. After spending two Saturdays, and over $2,000, I thought the truck was finally fixed. But, now, my engine light is on once again after only 200 miles! Now, I will have to take an unpaid day off from my job for a third visit in less than 3 weeks. This was my first new car purchase ever. I have had persistent engine light problems over the last 8 years beginning almost immediately after I paid over $23,000 cash for this truck. I am disgusted.

We had a scheduled appt at Hawthorne Chevrolet got 4:00 but we came early. The person my husband spoke to the night before he told him my credit score was a little low the person - Greg - told him NO PROBLEM... So we went there waited and waited no one asked us if we needed help I went to the main desk and told them it still took quite a while till Gary came to my husband and told us he was with other customers and it would be a little wait. Well an hr later he comes to us again I explain what I want - Chey Cruze in blue. He still makes us wait again till we ask that my info be taken before working the #s for the car - again we wait. Total time at dealership was 3 hours!!!!! They said the would call me back Monday to see if they could work with another bank. It's now 2:30 pm Monday and NO PHONE CALL!!! We wasted more than 3 hrs - when they could have had another salesman take my info and send us on our way saying they would call me Monday!!!!

The wait was a little long, but that was partly my fault for waiting until the last second to make an appointment. The Service Advisor did explain to me the better days to make an appointment when there is more than one technician on duty at the time I can make it. Overall, though it wasn't bad. I had to wait 4 hours for them to diagnose and replace my known bad battery under warranty. 90 minutes for diag with their system was fair but the extra 2.5 hours to swap it was unreal and they charged me for labor because I have a breaker and cable on the battery which they never even removed. Then I got it back with the wiring messy! The sales team here is great but service sucks. I always have to wait at least 4 hours for even the simplest things.

Used car salesman John D. was trustworthy, not pushy, and upfront about the used car I was looking for and found on cars.com. Only thing that I didn't like was that car badly needed front tires and dealership was not willing to put them on as part of the listed sales price. If I would have agreed to the tires they would have charged me extra for them. The car shouldn't have been on the lot with that badly worn tires. In any event I left a hold and the dealership returned my hold as promised when I replied that I was no longer interested in the car mainly due to the tire issue.

The first visit was to get oil change and 15,000 service with a recall and noise in the rear. Unfortunately, the noise in the rear required a follow up service appointment and two days of a rental which was not a SUV (Tahoe) that I wanted to drive. But the noise was gone after the 2nd visit.

Truck wasn't ready by 4 and had to wait for an additional hour, truck was there all day. Personal paperwork left on my back seat was all over the rear floor when I went to pick up truck. Your service rep claimed that my cell phone was to blame for not being able to connect to bluetooth, when I got the truck back bluetooth worked and I did nothing to my phone, seems like there was a problem you would not admit to.

I found all the employees at the service department to be very nice and accommodating. My car was dropped off the night before and I was acknowledged immediately upon driving into the service bay. I got my text when the car was done and I went to pick it up after work. My only complaint would be that the car wasn't washed and sparkling when I picked it up. Not sure if since it's a free maintenance visit if it's just not done - and the car wasn't overly dirty but it's the point of it. Maybe a complimentary wash isn't something included or even done. But it should be. My Equinox should have been as bright and shiny as when I first drove it off the lot last October. Just food for thought. Thx for listening.

I took my 2009 Equinox in for an oil change (I've used Hawthorne Chevrolet since I bought it in 2009). I knew I had just a few payments left so I walked over to the showroom and found Tom Verhheek and asked him if he could check to see what kind of a deal I could get if I traded in my Equinox. My mom went because of water on her floor when she used her air conditioner. They said after checking it was repaired and was just a clogged drain line. A few weeks later she used her air conditioner water on the floor again. She returned now they say it was a different problem gave her another bill and let her know that they did a full inspection and the car was good including her brakes. 2 days later her brake line broke at a red line causing to go through the intersection with on coming traffic. When I called the service department I got a full run around with all of the excuses. THEY STILL TOOK HER MONEY, & DID NOTHING FOR THEIR INCOMPOTENCE TO SERVICE A VEHICLE COORECTLY!!

If I had not questioned my bill - which was too late! your system should be updated telling the associate when you're entitled to "free" oil changes...also asking if I had any coupons?! as you know you always provide coupons - specials. That wasn't asked if that was the case then I would have had a free tire rotation and my oil change would have been free. I had asked the young lady to make a notation on my file that my next oil change should not be charged! Things like that make the customer happy and lets them know you are looking out for them not the opposite.

I'd lost my "B" on the trip meter. It had not been found when I got in the car to go home. I brought it to the manager's attention. I had told him when I dropped the car off. He tried to locate it, a salesman tried, another mechanic checked it out. Finally a younger mechanic found it almost immediately. Thank goodness for the younger generation. I don't know about the computer part of this car, the B is gone again. I got in to take a trip to south Jersey and it wasn't there. I'll be back.

I went to the dealership just to "look" at the new Silverado trucks and told them that upon my arrival. JR did a great job of answering all my questions and was never "pushy". I've walked out of dealerships when I was ready to buy just because they were so pushy about the deal. After all was said, JR made me an offer on the truck and told me to think about it. I did, and the next day I called to come in and get the truck. I made a few changes to what I originally wanted and JR was extremely helpful the entire way. I never planned to buy until the fall but JR made it so easy and gave me what I felt was a great deal. I will go back for my next Chevy and send all my family/friends to JR and Hawthorne if they're ever in the market.

Our Sales Associate, Thomas Verheeck worked with my husband and I patiently through a 8 month deal. We originally placed and order in Aug. 2013 for a 2014 Surburban, and then decided to wait for a 2015 restyled model, which was slated to come out early in 2014. Tom kept in touch, and did everything he could to assure us that he would contact us soon as he received notice that arrival was imminent. He did exactly that, we have it for a week now and love it. He was very fair, patient, and honest. Based on our experience with Tom we would recommend Hawthorne Chevrolet to our friends and family.

I was early for my appointment and they took my Tahoe right away. All the intended work was explained and I also asked if they could check tires & coolant and they willingly did. Everything was done sooner than I expected and completely explained what was done. The Service Attendant/Mgr and the Cashier were all very nice. The waiting room was renovated with new, comfy chairs and very relaxing to wait.

After contacting the dealer I originally purchased the car from for service on the sudden loss of use of the control panel their remark was we can't give you a appointment until next week your service dept gave me an appointment right away and even offered a loaner until the part came in. This was during a snow storm and with no working defrosters or hazard lights this had the potential to be deadly. Kudos to the staff & service department they are the best!!

WORST DEALERSHIP EVER... From the beginning nothing but problems with this dealership. Twice now when our new vehicle was brought in for service the employees damaged the vehicle. This last experience was having them install fog lights which I paid for and they scratched & chipped the paint during the install and on the bumper. I spoke with Mr. Tim Mckens who promised me the damage would be repaired. When I went to pick up the car nothing was done, his response was " what can I do for you?". He should be saying "This is what I'm going to do for you". The service manager Joseph De Cangi just walked away not wanting to deal with his shrew up. Mr. Mckens recommended replacing both the front and rear bumpers on my new car. This would make a new car not so new any more and would inconvenience me once again for a long time. I decided not to have their service department touch the car again and left. It has been more then 3 weeks since this incident and no one from the dealership has made an attempt to contact me. Sham on you Hawthorne Chevrolet.

This dealership refused to sell us a truck because I told them that I was not happy with their customer service. Jeffery Mays is a rude person, he should not be the sales manager. He has no customer service skills at all. We did schedule an appointment with the finance person on the day when we finally could pick up the truck, after a week of wait. We arrived 15 minutes early and they still let 2 other people walk into the finance office who didn't even have appointments. I am currently pregnant and I told the sales person at the time when I scheduled the appointment that I won't be able wait around for a long time. They couldn't care less. We wanted to have our deposit money back after they refused to sell the truck to us, but they didn't write us a check on the same day.So they kept our deposit and didn't sell us the truck. I would recommend not to go even close to this dealership.

Bad Experience.... Bought a new car and after picking it up it had a stain from bird droppings, I brought it back and they were able to compound it out. However a careless worker scratched the door frame. I spoke with General Manager Mr. Thomas Pasquazi and made arrangements to bring the car back to them. The option was to use touch up paint, I hoped it would work. The employee who worked on the car apparent used old paint which turned black in color on a gray car. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the General Manager and he agreed it was not acceptable and told me he would correct the mistake and order a new can of touch-up paint, he offered I keep the can afterwards which didn't happen. Once the paint arrived I returned to Hawthorne dealership again. It was a mission to speak with the right person to get the work started. It took longer then I was advised and when I went to pick up the car I found that the employee who worked on the car only touched up one of the four damaged areas and the one area he did paint was not compounded to make it look smooth. I attempted to reach General Manager Thomas Pasquazi but he was no where to be found. I had to leave for an appointment and left messages for Thomas Pasquazi to call me back. The next day and I'm still waiting to get this matter resolved, I've recieved no phone calls back from Hawthorne Chevrolet.

My sales experience was beyond excellent once again. When I purchased my 2010 Equinox back in October 2009 I had the pleasure of being assisted by JR Gray. He was excellent and I knew that I would try to work with him again when it was time to purchase another car. The timing lined up well as the 2010 Equinox needed repairs and I then received a trade offer for it shortly after. I telephoned JR and explained the situation to him. When I walked into the dealership the next day, he already had a brand-new 2013 Equinox waiting for me with all the specifications I requested. Plus, he had already worked out all the numbers for the trade-in, allowing me to simply sign and drive without raising my monthly finance payment. JR also handled everything with my old car from the warranty-covered repairs to the rental car I had to drive for a week. He was honest and straight-forward throughout the buying process.

We needed a vehicle that could tow a boat, has 4 wheel drive for skiing in VT, cargo space to carry all our ski gear (replacing a mini-van). We had our research in hand from Consumer Reports on the 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche and the Traverse. Both vehicles had the capacity, both rated high on consumers and relatively equal in price. The Avalanche would perform better at our core requirements and it had a more spacious interior. However, the 2nd row seats in the Avalanche did not recline and the ultimately influenced our decision to go with the Traverse. Tom Brown was patient with us in the 3 week process we took to decide which vehicle to purchase. Tom answered all questions and was respectful to our concerns about visiting the dealer with our school age children, work and life interruptions. He responded to email, voice mails and phone calls with questions that could not be answered from our internet queries. After we decided on the Traverse, Tom had found one in the area so we did not need to order our preferred build. The car was prep'd and ready for pickup in less than 48 hours from the time we placed our order. Tom even offered to deliver the vehicle if we could not pick it up. We were very pleased with the purchase process. This was a huge ticket item to us and the folks at Hawthorne Chevrolet respected our need to make sure we got the vehicle that was right for us.

Wow....I went to see Steve to discuss my interest in possibly getting a new Tahoe. Steve and Tom Brown handled my deal and I have to tell everyone that this is NOT your typical car dealership. These guys breath customer service. No pressure on me ever to buy. It was straight forward, honest, and probably one of the best car buying experiences I've had in 30 years. The delivery was everything you want the day you pick up your vehicle. My 2013 thane was immaculate! Detailed and sitting there inside waiting for me. Tom Brown educated me on every single system the fully loaded truck had to offer. Tom was so good and just a regular guy who I could tell lives and breathes Hawthorne Chevy. I took my Tahoe home today but I made 3 new friends over there. What a great buying experience from start to Finnish. And a great deal too!

Without doubt the best car shopping experience in my life: from calling for quotes to driving my desired Traverse SUV away, it only took about half a day to get the deal done. I visited Hawthorne Chevy in an attempt to purchase a new Corvette. This dealership did not have the Corvette that I wanted. However, I found James Perkowski at Hawthorne Chevy to be very helpful. He attempted to locate a Corvette with all the options I wanted by doing a five hundred mile search. He found one Corvette matching all my criteria, but a trade could not be worked out. Even thought I did not purchase a vehicle from James Perkowski, I was very impressed by him. He was more than willing to let me take a Corvette to my home to see if the Corvette would fit in my garage. James took the time to answer all my questions, never attempted to pressure me to compromise on exactly what I wanted, and did all he could to get the Corvette that I wanted. I would feel very comfortable seeking Jim out for my next vehicle purchase.

I went into dealer with my 82 year old mother to lease a new Chevy Cruze. Bill was very professional and extreemly respectful of my mom. He showed us the car and made possible suggestions on other modles as well explaining the pros and cons of each as far as performace options and price. His patience was almost saint-like as he explained the cars systems to a women who was not savvy of the latest in technology. He definitely went the extra mile to make her feel comfortable and specifically told her that if she needed anything she should call him first and he would take care of whatever she needed including service and even violuteered to put the new plates on her car at her house when they arrrived at the dealer. My mom had bought a car 1999 Chevy Lumina from the dealer years ago and returning to the dealer was a pleasant experince for both her and myself. When I first stopped by Hawthorne Chevrolet a few weeks ago, I was very hesitant to purchase a vehicle due the current economy. I might also add, not the easiest customer to please at that time. I needed to be 100% sure I was getting the best all around deal possible including financing and affordable monthly payments. I was first met by Tom Brown(salesman)who showed me around and explained the options and different packages. After a week or so of talking with Tom and deciding whether this was the right truck for me or not, we agreed on a deal. When I went back to the dealership I wasn't completly satisfied with the options on the truck, which Tom Brown along with his General Manager, Tom Pasquazi, quickly worked out all my concerns with the truck.(2012 colorado crew cab). When I drove out of the dealership with my new truck, I was 110% pleased. I believe I could not have gotten a better deal anywhere else. When I returned to pick up my plates and have my accessories installed I was met by Tom Pasquazi who wanted to be sure I was completely satisfied.Then Tom Brown took me to service where my accessories were promptly installed. Tom Brown, Tom Pasquazi, the service dept. and Hawthorne Chevrolet are all Top Class Professionals. I will recommend anyone looking for a Chevrolet to go Hawthorne Chevrolet and see Tom Brown. I initially contacted this dealer by requesting a quote through the internet. Carey Lutz responded with a very informational email on the car I requested with their price of the car. The other dealers that I contacted seemed more interested in playing games and not giving me up front information or pricing, so I decided to visit Hawthorne to see the car. It was a pleasure to work with Bill Fellbaum to test drive and decide which options I wanted on my Camaro. The whole sales process was quick and efficient, yet thorough. There were no last minute add-on prices or gimmicks like ones that I have experienced with other dealers. The price we agreed to was the price I paid. I was in and out of the finance office in 15 minutes. Bill took the time to acquaint me with my new Camaro and he followed up with me a week later to make sure that I was completely satisfied.

Fantastic.I contacted Carey Lutz in the internet sales dept who could not do enough to help me. He put me in contact with Arnie Ziem who together got me the camaro convertible I wanted for my wife's surprise anniversary gift and at a great price as well. Al in service gets a thumbs up as well. He took care of something I forgot to mention to Arnie that I needed added to my car when I went to pick it up. Al took care of it at 4:30 on a Friday evening so I would not have to come back. After a less-than-spectacular experience at a different dealership, I came to Hawthorne feeling fairly fed up with the car-buying experience. That quickly changed. The staff at Hawthorne were friendly and informative. Unlike other dealerships I had visited, Hawthorne's staff actually gave the impression that they wanted to satisfy the customer. My salesman was Andre Yulfo and he was a pleasure to work with (so was GM Thomas Pasquazi). All in all, my Hawthorne Chevrolet experience was a thoroughly satisfying one. I won't hesitate to return when I'm ready to make another purchase.

Of the several dealerships worked with, this was the ONLY one that wasn't selling hard, and actually wanted to find the specific car I was looking for. Every other dealership tried very hard to get me in with "almost" cars, that in fact were missing things that had been specified as required, and pushed hard to change my mind about what i wanted. In contrast, JoeyG worked hard to do the work for me, to search and find the car that precisely fit my specs.The only things that are not perfect with the car are my fault for not understanding better how to describe what i wanted: I wanted a trailer hitch, and didn't realize i needed to also specify having a ball; I wanted a nav system, and got the onstar but didn't realize i needed to be specific that i wanted the GM nav system with the map etc. But they have bent over backwards to correct these, and have been a total pleasure to deal with.

I came in yesterday after my steering column totally went out while I was driving my kids to school. I was assigned to Norman. I had onstar call on my way in and I spoke to a woman who said a loaner car was available. After explaining the situation to Norm, I told him how dangerous it was to lose steering capacity and I asked him if this is a "typical" issue with such a young car. He was very "matter of fact" and responded with a comment that machines break, what can you do. After asking him to let me know how long it would be, I waited an hour. When called into his office he indicated that my front tires needed replacement along with my front brakes. But in any case, the steering column needed to be replaced. While waiting for my husband to call me back, I asked for a loaner car to get home (because I knew the steering column would take 2-21/2 hours). He told me there was no loaner car and that her could possibly get me a rental car and If I ended up getting the brakes and tires, he could waive the rental fee. Miraculously, a loaner became available and I left. at 4;45 I called to find out the status of my repair. He told me it was done, but I couldn't pick up until the next day because it needed to bleed. I asked him why he didn't tell me this eariler( because I had to leave very early the next day for the airport) and his response was, "because I just found out myself." When I asked him what time I could pick up the car in the morning, he said 7am...The car was ready, but on my way in I had a message from a technician who told me I couldn't pick my car up until 830 or 845! Norm did not bring the car to me or even step out to speak with me. I am disgusted with the way I was treated and will go to another dealership when my lease is up.

We saw a Suburban at Hawthorne Chevrolet in cars.com, we called them to make sure car was still available. They said yes, and they told us they are open until 5:30 pm on Saturday (12/3/11). We went there at 4 pm to check cars condition. Sales person named Jeff tried to find the car in the lot but he couldn't, then checked the list in his office. It was listed in their sales sheet. He asked us to wait for couple minutes while he checks it in their new car sales office across the street with manager. He never came back. After waiting in the cold around 20 minutes we saw him staring at us from the new car sale office. It looked like he was waiting for us to leave, he did not come out, we have left. I think we were too 'diversified' for Jeff at Hawthorne Chevrolet.

I went to hawthorne to get a remote start put in my truck. I had a problem after I brought it home. They called the installer and he came to my house and fixed the problem. (awesome) Then I emailed Cheri to ask her a few questions about the Onstar. She always emailed me back in a timely manner and was great each and every time I emailed her a question. I would highly recommend this dealership. They (Emilio our salesman and the gentleman from finance who's name escapes me right now) went above and beyond to help us when we leased our truck. !!!!!! BUYER BEWARE of Hawthorne Chevrolet !!!!!!A few weeks ago on Saturday 7/16/11 I went with my 89 year old father and long time resident of Hawthorne (50+years) to HAWTHORNE CHEVROLET to lease him a new Chevy Cruze. I myself had purchased two vehicles from them, last one in the early 90s, at that time I was happy with the outcome so we went down to give them another try. When first investigating the car for my parents my father did all the ground work himself and was firm on buying an AMERICAN car as he always has done for the past 60+ years. During our dealings for a new Cruze with the salesman Arnold (Arni) Ziem my father mentioned as part of the conversation how he had been friends with Gene Meyers for many many years who had been the owner and ran Hawthorne Chevy for 30+ years until he passed away, several years back one of his stepsons Steve Barna took over. Mr. Barna saw my father there at the dealership and told Arni that he(my father) was a V.I.P. in his dealership and was to be treated that way. As we progressed along with the process of trying to lease the Cruze it became quite clear to me that they were not treating my father fairly on the lease price for the car, continued to make the pricing high and difficult to understand. During our negotiations I asked Arni about one of the fees, lease termination, and was advised the fee would be $250.00. After 2 hours of going back and forth with Arni and the Sales Manager Jeff Mays we finally agreed on a good price for my father who is on a very limited income. Then during the final stages of the deal we were advised that the lease termination fee was actually $400.00, even though I was told earlier it was $250.00. I could not believe Arni and Jeff were doing this after all the time we had spent and asked them to remove the extra $150.00 they just added in. Jeff Mays the sales manager refused, so I asked to see Mr. Barna (remember the man who said my father was a VIP), after 45 minutes of waiting still no Mr. Barna, finally the General Manager (Tom Pasquazi) came down and agreed to only take $100.00 off. By that time 3 hrs my father and I were so tired of the whole process we accepted his compromise. The contract was written up and signed by all parties with one stipulation, that I co-sign for my father which I did but could not understand as he has no debt and has nothing negative in his past. A $500.00 deposit was asked for and given by my father (by check) to the dealership and they said they would have the car in a couple of days as it was not on the lot. We left at about 2:30pm - tired - but my father was happy with the car and the contracted price of the lease payments. About 4:30pm (same day) I received a call from my father telling me HAWTHORNE CHEVY had just called and told him they could not sell him the car at the agreed upon down payment and lease payment of 199.50 but would have to raise the monthly payment to $220.00 per month or the deal would be cancelled. I could hear on the phone how upset he was, since we had spent so much time there and he had finally thought everything was done. He called HAWTHORNE Chevy back and told them he could not pay the inflated price due to financial limitations and advised them that he would be down shortly to pick up his deposit check. When he arrived at the dealership at 5:15pm (it was closing at 6:00pm) Arni the salesman told my father that he could not give him his check back, it was locked in the vault and no-one could get it out before Monday. My father (not the type to get angry or distrust people) told me he advised Arni he would be back first thing Monday to get his check. On Monday morning my father returned to the dealership 15 minutes before it opened, again speaking to Arni , this time he was told that the finance group of the dealership had already taken his check an hour ago and it had been cashed, he would have to wait several days 7 to 10 until the dealership could cut him a replacement check. When my father told me that night what they had done to him I could not believe it. They HAWTHORNE CHEVY were the one who cancelled his contracted deal and then they had the ruthlessness to hold his check, not return it to him when he came to pick it up on two occasions and then even worse they cashed it on a deal that no longer existed. How do you treat an 89 year old man, a WWII veteran, who is a long time resident of the town your business is in who wanted to buy an AMERICAN car from your dealership, spent 3+ hours to get a signed contract, then try to raise the price and finally treat him like a piece of meat keeping his deposit money after your dealership cancelled his deal. HAWTHORNE CHEVROLET and STEVE BARNA you should be ASHAMED of yourself, what kind of people are you. In my opinion I believe what they did was probably illegal, at the very least it was UNETHICAL BUISNESS PRACTICES. The following day I called Chevrolet corporate offices with GM and logged in a complaint against HAWTHORNE CHEVROLET relating to their business practices. I also contacted the dealership and asked for Mr. Barna to try to get my fathers money back quickly, I was advised he was in a meeting and would get back to me, he never did even after several calls and messages. Finally after two days of repeated attempts I was able to speak with the General Manager Tom Pasquazi who after a supposed meeting with his staff advised he would cut my father a refund check of his deposit only after my father produced a document from his bank saying his check had cleared. Again forcing my 89 year old father to make another special trip to try and get his money back. It appears by HAWTHORNE CHEVROLET standards it was ok to use unethical business practices to cash a check on a cancelled deal and quickly take the money into their accounts but made an 89 year old man jump thru hoops to try and get it back, which we were finally able to do only with the cleared check document from his bank. No apology was made by anyone at the dealership to my father. Now the happy ending, because of the way my father felt after he had been treated so poorly at Hawthorne Chevrolet he did something totally amazing to me, he finally agreed to go look at foreign cars after over 60 years of buying American. It was HONDA (DCH Honda in Paramus) that got his business (only after he read that the Accord he was buying was actually built in an American plant by US labor). He could not believe that he was able to lease a new Accord a more upscale car, better equipped, that list priced out for $3000.00 dollars more than the Cruzes list price for an overall total contracted leasing agreement price that saved him $150.00 less than the original contract deal pricing from Hawthorne Chevy before they cancelled his deal. In addition DCH Honda did not require that I co-sign the lease contract and did not have a lease termination fee. On top of that we were in and out of the negotiations in about 1.5 hrs and he picked the car up the next day.Based on what happened to my father, the grief and aggravation he was forced to endure and the total UNPROFESSIONAL nature of the way HAWTHORNE CHEVROLET treated us and conducted their business practices. I would definitely NOT recommend them as a dealer to do business with.

I purchased a 2009 malibu lt brand new from this dealership. (My sixth vehicle purchased from them) The vehicle has 15k miles and i have been dealing with COUNTLESS rattles squeaks, and noises. I have had it back numerous times, I have gone on countless road tests with the service manager, technicians, and service advisors each and every time having them acknowledge the concerns. With no results and numerous parts replaced. I feel like they lately they have had my vehicle longer then I have. Multiple items have been replaced to no resolution. Despite being ignored by the owner(Steven Barna) who after leaving numerous messages I finally cornered in the showroom. Show NO care or concern Laughing stated "what do you expect it has 15k miles its not a brand new vehicle anymore"... I think his attitude is extremely poor and due to the fact he Inherited the dealership,He really has no knowledge or skills of how to run it. Its a shame that such a well known name as Hawthorne Chevy Is so poorly run from the top of the ladder right down. I DEFINITELY would never recommend this dealership to anyone even my worst enemy.

My wife and I bought a gently used '09 Chevy TrailBlazer (fully loaded) that we found on AutoTrader.com. Ray worked with us on the test drives and the paperwork process while Darric was the sales manager who pulled no punches and was brutally honest with the pricing (we made a deal pretty quickly). Cheri, as the Internet sales manager, was excellent establishing the first lines of communication and actually brought us into the dealership after facilitating an appointment to see this vehicle and one other. Keith quickly processed the financing paperwork and got us out the door. These guys are all about solutions. The vehicle was missing a navidation CD - solved. The manual was missing - also solved. Car was detailed on the spot and were driving to lunch less than three hours after stepping through the door. A fantastic experience and we will probably return for our next Chevy even though they're over an hour's drive from where we live!

I was never given the chance to tell the dealership I didn't want the extended warranty I got stuck paying for,which I did't and still don't.It was the first dealship I ever bought a car for where they didn't ask if I wanted anything like that before going ahead and doing a loan approval.When I called about it they said that that's how the loan was structured.No shit because I was never even given the option to say no.Now I'm stuck with it for 6yrs instead of 5years like I would of rather had also.

I've always been a bit apprehensive about new car shopping. Salespeople seem to come after you like bees to honey. This was not the case at Hawthorne Chevrolet. My salesman, Robert DeSimone, gave me all the room I needed while I examined the cars. He was not pushy, nor did he try and sell me something I didn't want. He listened to all of my concerns, including my budget and needs. This was the first time I can say that my whole experience at a new car dealership was pleasant and pain free, from shopping to financing, etc. When my car required service, Robert saw that my appointment with the service dept. was made at my convenience. My car was finished when promised, and returned to me clean (and without the radio station changed!) The showroom is clean and modern, and the employees friendly. I have since referred my daughter to this dealer. She was extremely happy with her purchase and the professionalism that Robert displayed. When I am ready for my next new car, Hawthorne Chevrolet and Robert DeSimone will be my first stop.

This is the 3rd dealer which I have brought my car to for service on my 2008 Chevy Malibu LTZ. The car which was named Car of the Year for 2008 and 2009 has very serious engine/trans., steering problems which are being ignored by both GM and the 3 dealers I have visited. They are Paramus Chevrolet, Grand Prize Chevrolet and lastly and most recently Hawthorne Chevrolet.For almost 3 years now, I have been fighting a losing battle to receive the appropriate level of assistance with a very serious lag/hesitation with my engine and transmission; my steering which goes on intermittent lapses of very loose, too firm and then just plain erratic. I have complained to anyone who would listen upto and including the GM Executive Team which has also being a smoke screen in disguise of a solution and usless to date.I advise anyone shopping for a new or used car, stay away for the Chevy Mailbu LTZ 4 cylinder Spring Edition Engine.PERIOD...

I don't recommend. You may find a car but you will be nickle and dimed and will end your experience with a bad taste in your mouth that will linger for weeks. The car i bought failed inspection. just wipers but they refused to reimburse me.Most people don't enjoy purchasing a car because of dealing with the dealers and the inevitable feelings of being ripped off, But if you do enjoy that experience, Hawthorne Chevy won't let you down.They include nonsense charges in your sale bill, one or two they may drop to give you the illusion that they are cutting you a deal. Ultimately my experience with them ended in a screaming match over the phone with them telling me essentially that i was cheap and stupid.

Let me say first that Hawthorne Chevy is a reputable dealer, has been in business for a long time, has an above average inventory, provided a competitive price (But not the best) and they know how to get people to buy cars. The last item I mentioned is the main reason I did not lease my Traverse there. The showroom experience was the prototypical, playbook, high-pressure, double-teaming, don't-let-the-customer-leave type of experience that most people have come to dread when car shopping. I walked in to simply get a price for a lease. After a short test drive, I spent more than 90 minutes... First with a salesman. Then he brought in a sales manager to do some double-teaming, (I guess) when he felt he was not getting me to collapse. There were all the standard sales ploys, from wanting to "package" a deal with the lease and my trade-in (instead of treating them as two separate transactions as is always recommended), to asking me how much I can afford per month instead of giving me a price for the vehicle I was interested in, to the old "let's disappear for 15 - 20 minutes and let the customer sit alone wondering whats going on" ploy. They threw every car salesman's pressure tactic in the book at me, including the last ditch effort as I left. I was told that leasing deals would be changing in two days, so I may not be able to get the same deal if I come back beyond that time. In the end, the price was competitive, but as I said, not the best. The pressure tactics and obfuscation they used to wear me down was a total turn off. As for the trade in, I did my homework and knew it was not worth much, however they offered me 30% less than I wound up getting without quibbling at another dealership.In short, if you don't mind salesmen's attempts at wearing you down and trying to confuse you to get you to buy a car, you might enjoy the "experience" at Hawthorne Chevrolet. As for me, I leased from a dealer with no pressure, no text book sales tactics, and a better price.

Overall I am a happy camper. I met JR (sales) and he walked me through the entire process. I received a price quote over the internet and they not only honored the quote, but saved me a little more than I thought. There were some hurdles to overcome and Rob Z (SM), quickly resolved those issues. I was ok with everything else and I was able to take my new car home that day! I will be back for service gentleman. Myself and my husband will go back to Hawthorne Chevy.

I purchased an 2008 HHU - new three years ago- from Hawthorne Chevy. Went back August 2009 - almost at the end of the warranty period. Told the "service team" that my radio wasn't able to pick up WCBS News 88- AM. The station would become difficult to listen to. Was advised after three service visits that: "Its a weak station" and the "service technicians at Chevy said there's no fix available". They gave me a rental car - another chevy - that looked terrible, smelled of smoke, and the back seat had the remains of vomit on the seat - but - CBS Newsradio 88 came in loud and clear - when traveling the same roads. Was told that - no fix available - basically - tough luck. I found the fix--------traded it in on a new Toyota RAV 4- 2010, now the radio works just fine!!!!!!!!!!Will never buy another Chevy - never buy a car from this dealership!!!!!!!!!!

Dealer is totally incompetant. took 2 trips to dealership to pick the car up when was promised first time. Issues with new car were not attended to even tho they had 10 days to do so. Car was not prepped correctly, mal alighned headlamps/foglamps, scratches. Person sleeping in car when I wnet to look at it and to top it all off, plates didnt arrive before temp expired, even though after I contacted them 2 days before the temp expired the dealer confirmed plates were in upstairs. Dealer's response:We dropped the ball?!?!?!?!?

i purchased a new truck in 2002 with no problems.went back recently because they called me to tell me i could get out of my lease early.i explained that the truck had a decent amount of dents and scratches,they told me to come in any way.went to the dealership and met dennis johnson(salesman).told him what i was interseted in and we started talking prices.then he asked what i was trading in.i told him the mileage and that there was damage on the truck.he said i would have to pay for the milage but NOT TO WORRY ABOUT THE DAMAGE.so i didn't.to make a long storry short i bought the truck and two weeks later i get a bill from the lease comp. looking for 2,800$ for the damage on the truck.i called DENNIS JOHNSON and he said that i was responsible for the damage and there was nothig he could do about.when i talked to the manager JEFF DIBIASI he didn't want to hear about it.i know that salesman do what they have to do to get you to buy but there is a line.when you have to decieve people to get to buy i feel that is crossing the line.
