I’ve been looking for a car for over 2 months and have gone to countless dealerships so by the time I got to Honda I was tired and just wanted a straightforward experience. My salesperson was Steve and he was great. We were able to negotiate a fantastic lease with him and his manager and they even helped me get insurance for my new car that same day. I love my new HR-V and get so many compliments on it. I’m from NYC and it was the perfect size for street parking. The best experience ever. Danny Patel was the best salesman. No pressure, took us out of a terrible lease from another dealer and put us in a brand new Honda Passport. Efficient, fast and caring. I was away and after only a little over a year, had a dead battery in my Honda Fit. Had it towed to Honda Universe on a Saturday, but it couldnt be looked at till Monday morning. Got a call early enough, battery was replaced. Bob in Service was very helpful.

Jasmin Leming / Aimee Herbert made an offer via email to me and promised me a 'too good to be true' ad n promised a remote start. They just want foot traffic to come in. But when u get there u will not get the ad they promised. I had a competitor offer and wanted to see if Honda universe could beat it. They said they could and invited me to come in. I took personal time off work and traveled over an hour to this dealership.'met w Kyle. He seemed to be too smart and intelligent to be working at this sleazy place.'he was smug and laughed at me as I became upset that my competitors ad was not legitimate. His manager came over to tell me that a competitors ad was false. It wasn't. The competitor honored my ad and I sitting in my beautiful new Honda CRV that I bought from their competior. Kyle smugly said , oh yes, customers are so apt to write bad reviews so freely... By the way, buddy, I have a glowing review to the salesman with 5 stars that dealt w me at a South Jersey dealership :)

After negotiating a purchase price, the salesperson presented me with different payment options based on different down payments, interest rates and terms. I selected a payment of $233 at 2.9%. I was then turned over to the finance manager, who had good news (or so I thought) - a lower interest rate, and a coupon for free "Total Protection Plus." Interestingly enough, the payment was still $233 - a mathematical impossibility. Of course, $233 was not an accurate payment based on the true purchase price. This is a practice known as "packing the payment." You think you're getting something for free, but YOU ARE PAYING FOR EVERY BIT OF IT. Watch out for pre-printed contracts where the printer types in the blank spaces; it may not be lined up, and the important print is being lightly typed over the bolder pre-printed verbiage - very easy to miss.My paperwork was amended the next business day, when I made a complaint in person. Caveat emptor - Let the buyer beware!

I'd dropped the key ring and broken the back of the remote key, and went to see Scott at Parts Dept. He tried everything possible to see what could be done without me having to buy another complete back/key. Zau happened to come along, and he looked at it, and was able to use a screwdriver to attach the back; the problem was fixed. Really appreciate all the help Scott and Zau gave us.We've purchased at least three Hondas from Honda Universe, and have loved all of them. On June 9, 2016 I went to this dealership to turn in my lease on a 2013 CRV for a new model. My salesman, George Ebinger, was wonderful. He showed me 3 models he had in the lot, two of which I did not like. The 3rd was an upgrade Touring model. I loved it. We went back to the showroom to make up some numbers. I loved the car and they knew that. so they the manager and financial people did their things (let's see how we can screw this senior woman--and they did. They asked how much of a downpayment I wanted to give. I replied $2,500. OK they said. How much did I want my monthly lease payment to be. I told them below $400. The manager came out and told me that my downpayment would be $2500 and my monthly payment would be $400, all INCLUSIVE. I had only wanted to go to the most $375, but I agreed. I told Honda that I wanted a 3-year lease with 12,000 miles a year. The paperwork and detailing took hours. When they gave me the paperwork to sign I distinctly checked the lease agreement to check the mileage per year. It read 12,000 per year. I signed all the papers. After another 45 minutes someone from finance came out to say I needed to sign a new lease agreement as the one I signed said it was a trade-in. Wasn't it? They said no. I traded in my 2013 CRV. Another 30-40 minutes goes by and they give me yet another lease agreement to sign as now I could not have the 12,000 miles a year, only 10,000. I told them that wasn't right. I wanted to speak with the manager, but he conveniently had left. I should have said I wouldn't sign it. I travel frequently from the Jersey shore to northern NJ for doctor visits. This is not going to work for me with only 10,000 miles a year. Then the financial person comes out again and tells me that the downpayment is now $3,017, instead of $2500. Well you know taxes and stuff the financial person said (the manager told me $2500 and $389 inclusive). YIPES! I was livid. I was there for 6 hours and was tired. Now someone else tells me that "you know you really need the tire and wheels coverage because they are very expensive. OK so now my monthly payment is now $429.89. And after another little while someone comes to tell me that if I really wanted the 12,000 miles per month, that would be another $20. I couldn't afford another $20.00 per month.If I was rich I would hire a lawyer. It is disgraceful how I was treated and conned. I WOLD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP TO MY WORST ENEMY!Does this survey only go to Honda Universe. I hope not. I want it to go to the "powers that be".SHAME ON YOU! please avoid this dealership. They do not care about their customers. Whatever price they give over phone , they clearly denies that when you there. On top of that they tell you on face that they just gave that price to get you in. They add 10% dealer commission on top of price displayed. Plus add 1000$ for car preparation. In my case I was given a negotiable price of $28000 out of the door (including NJ state tax + document fee + dmv) Which they declined and gave me new price of $30500. I drove 150 miles to visit them. AND they know that. It is total waste of time if you go thete.

My mom always has a problem when it comes to buying a new car, but Karlos made us feel like we knew him for years, he was very honest and told me mom that he wouldn't put her in a car that she did not like! He was very knowledgeable and honest even very funny! I will tell others about my experience with Karlos and recommend that they stop in and see him when they are looking for a new car!! Billy in Fianace I believe his name was was also very helpful and told us that if we ever needed anything to let him know the same thing with Karlos as well. There was another younger gentlemen who was very funny and made us laugh and talked to us as well wish i got his name but we had a great experience.

I had a very good experience at Honda Lakewood. I worked with cant put name in web site will not accept who was accommodating and very knowledgeable. I feel that I got a better deal here than another dealer I went to gave me a better model - Civic EX - than I was offered at another dealer for the same money. Work with him. I had a great experience at the Honda Universe on route 88 when I bought my 2014 Honda Accord. From the very start I was greeted by Karlos who was a great salesman. He immediately approached my father and I and asked us what we were looking for and actually listened! Being a first time buyer I let him know I was unsure of a lot of the terminology and processes of buying a car but that did not seem to hinder my experience, in fact Karlos took him time explaining a lot of the financial information and really gave me a good inspection of the car I was looking at. Not once did I feel pressured to buy a car. Great place.

I decided to buy a new car. I received a notice from toyota rt 37 Tom's River nj. About an 7 day employee pricing . I had a Carolla in mind. I drove it and didn't find it to be all that. Then I sat down with salesman and again showed him the letter about employee pricing I received from them . He went in the back and came out with a price that was higher then I got on line under a different name. I got up and walked out. Before I got in my car they came outside and dropped the price 500 in the parking lot. I still left.I drove to Honda Universe in Lakewood on rt 88. I met with anibal and told him I was interested in the Honda civic EX. He brought one out and I drove 2 blocks and I could tell the huge difference between the Civic and Carolla . It was clear the Civic was my car. We went back inside and came to an agreement on the price. My credit was not so good . I had a bankruptcy 2 years ago. Honda was offering 1.9 financing. The finance manager came out and spoke to me before sending my application to Honda . He asked me a few questions about why I did the bankruptcy and what my financial status is now. After our conversation he put my application in and about a half hour later I was approved. I was very excited. I could not believe how professional and personal they were with me and the entire process of selling me a car. Now I am a happy owner of a new Honda Civic. Thank You Honda For believing in meThank You to the financial manager Who got to know me and my status. To get me approved. Thank you to Anibal who follow the entire process through and got the price I was happy with.

I made a deal over the phone for one of their used vehicles. It was priced at 22,300... I said I would purchase it for 21,000... I came in and they were not going less then 22,600. Not trust worthy. Terrible management trying to knife every person buying a used car! (IVE HEARD THIS IS THEIR REPUATION FROM MY FRIENDS IN THE BUISNIESS!) Do not take their word for anything, and avoid this dealership. Best of luck...Greg Levine was great, very friendly! Management has ZERO class,.....

Anibal greeted me at the door and made this car buying experience one of the easiest I've ever had. I walked in initially without my husband, and was a little concerned that I would be faced with a high pressure situation. However, Anibal never once made me feel under pressure. I was completely satisfied with all aspects of this experience and would have given the dealership a 5 star rating except I was very disappointed when it came time to make the final finance arrangements. I gave them all my information ahead of my final visit and it still took 3 hours of waiting before I could walk out with my new car.

Lies, Lies , Lies - BEWARE! Looked at a used car. Noticed check engine light was on. Was told "no problem, we'll have our guys take care of it". I said, "ok, but I'm not signing anything until it's fixed". Near the end of negotiations I asked my sales rep to check on the engine light. She came back and told me it was just a battery low voltage issue, that they charged the battery and it was all clear. The moment the paperwork was signed the light mysteriously returned and now it was an exhaust issue. Was told they would get it fixed by Chrysler since its still under warranty. They set an appointment and told me to drop it off and they would give me a loaner car. Showed up to drop off car and was then told they could not give me a loaner because I needed to be 25.. Im 21, they knew that when I bought the car yet I was told several times by several people that they would provide the loaner. I even called to verify that fact prior to showing up to drop the car off. They also said Chrysler wanted too much money to fix it so they would try and repair it themselves what happened to the warranty?Lies throughout the process Absolutely highlights the negative used car salesman stereotype I have to believe that any positive reviews are written by the people that work there - that's another TRICK OF THE TRADE

I went in to get a new Honda Accord. I dealt with Eric Casale and Jerome Hofmann. I told Jerome Hofmann what I wanted, and he immediately got me exactly what I was looking for. I was new to Honda, and was very impressed with both the standard features in the Accord compared to other makes, as well as Jerome's knowledge, friendliness, and comfortable vibe to deal with. Eric Casale made the numbers fit my budget, and I felt more like an old friend than a customer. Joe "The Pope of Credit Village" Mattina handled my paperwork, and everything was exactly done as promised and went smoothly, something some places don't always accomplish. Honda Universe wasn't the closest dealership to my house, but was absolutely worth the trip. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes to be treated fairly and have pleasant interactions with all of the staff.

We got a good deal to lease the Pilot. We went in with a budget and an idea of what we wanted to go home with. Although the process was long we walked out feeling good about staying close to what we wanted to spend and feeling like we could trust the staff at Honda Universe. We had our 2 children there and although we were overwhelmed the staff were always engaging our 1 and 7 year old. Thanks John, Anthony and Pat! We will be back for sure, would only but a car from John. He was very personable and knowledgeable!

This was my third time looking for a car in a dealership and it seems to have be an intimidating process in the past. This time I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome of dealing with my sales rep John McGraw. I enjoyed the personal conversation and how he listened to my wants and needs for what I was looking for. I knew I still had to go home and discuss the decision with my husband and I felt no pressure from John to make the deal at the time of the proposal. He followed up and even remembered details that we spoke about. I am extremely happy and can't wait to drive off in my new Honda Pilot! bought a car on 3/28/15 temp plate expired on the 16 th of April. and still no registration. so now I have a new car I cant drive. they said that they would pay the ticket. do you know how many tickets I could get in queens and Brooklyn if I would put the car in the street. stay away from these people. watch out for the tire warranty they slip in at the end it coast 3 times more then what they tell you. Also look at the thing they call Etching it's not necessary so watch what you sign.

Attempted to return a leased car to them. After confirming with Honda usa that all dealers are required to accept back leases the manager anthony was combative and refused to provide a service I recived at another Honda dealer that took 5 min. Would NEVER go here any suggestion they are customer friendly or value people is a lie. Will never go again and would suggest they realize how yelp reviews them as a 0 star dealer in nj. I hope prospective purchasers avoid Honda universe and shop at the other available dealerships where customer service is valued

We are from Middletown, NY and could not get a good deal in the Honda by us. My Husband contacted Honda Universe and spoke to John, he was able to get us the exact car that we wanted, and was able to keep us in the budget we desired. John was very friendly and ver customer oriented. We drove 2 1/2 hours to get the car but it was worth it. In the years that we've purchased cars through dealerships we've never encountered such fast and delightful customer service.

When our 3 yr lease was up with Honda Universe, we looked no further than John McGraw to help us with our options. We had the best car buying experience yesterday that we have had in over four decades thanks to Honda Universes sales person, Karlos Merrick. We were so lucky that we met him upon walking in and he really transformed the experience for us. He took so much time with us and showed us all the amazing features of the Honda CRV. Karlos was excellent, he listened to our needs, wants, concerns and budget and with his knowledge, expertise and professionalism found us the perfect car at a price that fit within our budget. I always felt that the salesperson you deal with is as important as the product they represent. Happily we found perfection in both. He knew what he was talking about and he talked with confidence. He could easily make small talk, and it made the entire process seem that much quicker. He even managed to know which car color I would like the most and even had it prettied up before we left! It's not often that someone can tell what color car you want that quickly. The car itself is great, too, having a lot of nifty features that I'll take advantage of. It was a great experience, despite the fact that I was dreading it for a long, long while. Wow! What horrifyingly atrocious service! I did not use this group to purchase my last Honda but was considering leasing my next one by them. It started when I attempted to return a leased vehicle that was due back to Honda Universe in Lakewood, NJ as I was instructed by Honda Financial. I was asked to see Jerome Hofmann and leave the vehicle with him. I showed up first thing in the morning to return the car but Jerome Hofmann was not in yet so I left the keys with the service department as they assured me that they would give him the keys. I followed up about 2 hours later and was just sent to Jerome Hofmann's voicemail. I repeated this about 4 or 5 times that day but he didn't call me back until mid afternoon of the following day. I told him that I just wanted to confirm that he received the vehicle and thank him for his services. He became very nasty and asked if I had purchased the vehicle at Honda Universe. When I responded that I did not, he yelled at me that they are not required to accept any lease returns without any appointment and Honda Financial does not dictate which vehicles they are required to accept back. I did not know this so I apologized all the while still very polite and calm. He told me that the car was returned to my home the previous day. When I told him that I did not see it that morning or the night before, he replied in a very nasty tone "well, that is your fault and I hope you have insurance!" Well, after some time and effort I did locate the vehicle at a friends home sitting on his driveway with the keys in ignition. That was the address that I ordered the final lease inspection to so i guess they were able to find that address through the system. All in all, if that is the way they treat their customers in today's era, I would sooner take my business elsewhere even if its further.

Leased our first honda a couple of years ago from John. We were not big Honda fans at the time but decided to give the CRV a try after John educated us on all the safety features. We loved the car and now have become Honda loyalists. Ok price. but the promised car was not in stock. When I asked about a loaner for the time frame until promised vehicle was delivered I was greeted with a crooked smile and a pause from the sales rep who said "NO" "my manager can not approve that" I sould have left then but I purchased because car because I was tired of the shell game my family was getting ansy and I just wanted to get the deal done. I had intentions on purchasing a second vehicle but I think it will be at a different dealership. This short sighted sales rep blinded by this one sales was so focused on getting the most out of me this day did not focus on the fact that I stated I would be purchasing a second vehicle in two weeks. I would have thought a dealership that knew 2 vehicles were a potential that they would have made my overall experience a bit better. I would have offered at least a loaner that day.

My daughter went there today for a vehicle that they were advertising online for 9700 (2008 Kia Sportage). When she tried to negotiate for a closer to book value price, they called the sales manager. The sales manager tried to talk her into paying 12000 (out the door price) and wanted her to finance that. When she told him that she had the cash, he questioned why she wanted to pay all at once. He told her he would only do 12000 out the door or he wouldn't make any money. Schisters. The book value is 8500 on that car. Don't trust these people.

Having done my due diligence online ,emailing online pre approval and speaking directly with Honda Universe I was assured that getting the vehicle I wanted would take "2 or 3 days" I just needed to come in give a deposit (a 50 minute drive for me) and they would do the rest. WRONG WRONG WRONG, no call backs I left many messages and after 8 days was informed they could not get vehicle, fact is I could have driven to the other dealer in Maryland in 2.5 hrs and purchased the car. Lesson learned If they dont have it in stock dont waste your time, false promises basically everything you hear that's bad with car salesmen

I went to another local dealership that had the same vehicle on the lot - and drove out the next day with my new car. I left phone messages and still no call back from them. I have had 3 bad experiences in the past with buying cars, but when I walked into Honda Universe salesman Sean Jones made sure my experience was easy and as stress free as possible. He did not pressure me into buying my car he went over every part of the car I was interested from top to bottom. He was very patient with me when I wasn't sure I wanted to buy the car. I can't thank Sean enough for making my experience at Honda Universe the most easiest and stress free experience overall.

I gave this review a great score because the salespeople were nice and honest. They didn't just tell me what I wanted to hear and change it afterwards. I wrote this review for the salesperson's that were helping me. I would say the service department customer service sucks. They don't know how to schedule work in a efficient manner. I had to yell and fight to get the accessories that were owed to me installed in a timely manner with a loaner car.

I went in just to look and get some information about getting a new car and met my sales assoc. Greg Levine. He was very informative and made the whole buying process so easy and explained everything about the car and talked me through the process. After having a NOT so great Honda experience at another dealership, my fiance and I were hesitant to walk into Honda Universe. Despite our hesitation, we were very happy with the service Rahsaan and John had given us. I had talked to Rahsaan a few weeks leading up to this experience and I believe that definitely helped with the overall experience. Because he knew what we wanted to do, he was able to convey that to John. Sometimes car salesmen get bad reputations for being too pushy or overbearing, but we did not feel that way at all with Rahsaan and John. Very pleased with the car, the price, and the ultimate experience. Thank you both to Rahsaan and John for making me love Honda once again.

I called Honda Universe about the recalls on my 08' Honda Civic Coupe. The receptionist told me I could bring my car in to the service center anytime. When i arrived there i asked for the service manager and told him about my paint problems and stated that i had received recalls for the paint, engine block and visor. He replied with ...Yeaah we stopped doing the recalls but if u wanna pay for a paint job we know a place that can give you a "Great Deal." I thought he must have been joking... but no he was dead serious. So how does a service center tell me they don't honor recalls but if u want to pay for it we will. I was never dealt with in such a brute rude way before leasing any car. I came in to get pricing for a Honda odyssey. Not only were they not upfront about the cost, they tried to hustle me and make me feel uncomfortable for trying to price out the car. They tried to get info on what i was paying for my current lease and overprice me for the new lease instead of just being upfront. Stay away from these guys. If they were any good they would sell more minivans in Lakewood where there is a huge market for these cars. Thats why no one in town buys from them.

Everyone that I encountered was very helpful and friendly. My sales person, John McGraw, was extremely helpful. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. It was a long day and I had my children with me. Everyone was nice to them, offering them popcorn. There were computers that they were able to use to play their games, which kept them quite occupied while I could concentrate on the business at hand. I found this to be a very smart concept. Somebody was thinking.I hate buying cars but all in all this was a rather pleasant experience. I would recommend this dealership and to John McGraw.

I was NOT looking foward to turning in my lease and going through the process of getting another car. Much to my surprise John made the experience fun! It was stress free and he had me laughing the whole time. Somehow he even managed to get me in my car without a co- signer! My fiance and I went to Honda to lease a civic, the salesman Rahsaan (Sean) was very knowledgeable and had great customer service. However, we sat there for 8 hours, and from the time we walked in the door we were under the impression we had already been approved for a lease since we did a lot of the paperwork over the phone to alleviate time at the dealership. Obviously, that didn't work out as planned. By the end of the night which was past closing time and hours of sitting there, we were told that we were never approved for the lease but approved for financing and since the bank closed before the info was submitted they just "assumed" it would be approved by the bank on Monday morning. They said they would NEVER allow a car to leave the dealership unless they were POSITIVE it would be approved and assured us that numerous people looked over the deal and with there experience and knowledge that it would not be a problem. We were confident that all was well and the car was ours. That was a mistake! It took them TWO WEEKS to call us back and say that the lease was never approved and the options were return the car or finance it for a higher amount. When we agreed to finance it, we showed an e-mail they had sent us about 2 years of free oil changes with the purchase of a vehicle.. They then had the audacity to say the e-mail had to be shown at the date of purchase and they could not honor it. This was after the finance manager said he would love to give it to us as long as he saw the email and would love to use it in a sales pitch. All in all I would have to say that it wasn't a good experience and that it was more of an inconvenience then anything else. I had higher standards for Honda and they did not reach my expectations.

Although I was not able to get a car at the time. John McGraw told me not to give up and he would do what he could do to help. He thoroughly explained everything I needed to do to be able to get a new car. I left feeling better about what was needed to be done to get a new car. A few days later he called and left a message reminding me not to give up and to come see him again when I am ready to get a new car, and he would do what he could to help.

So when I went to buy my 2014 Accord, I asked for Glenn. No surprise, Glenn was now a manager and referred us to another great salesman in John McGraw. I saw a 2010 Honda Pilot with 15K for $29,996 miles on the dealership website. This brought me to the dealership. I had previously visited Coast Honda several times, but did not engage in business with the sales people there. Honda Universe had much more selection of Certified Used Honda Pilots than Coast, which is why I kept checking the website. When I arrived at the dealership, there was a window sticker listing the car at $35,000, and negotiation was required to get the internet price, which I thought was misleading. My salesperson was excellent. John McGraw went out of his way to answer all of my questions and get me the information I needed to make my decision and close the deal. He had the service team clean the vehicle twice, since he thought it could use an additional cleaning. He scheduled me promptly for service when we learned that the DVD remote was not working for some reason and he came through on the promise to provide me with a second key, which the dealership cut for me. John was very friendly and helpful and promptly returned phone calls. Honda Universe has some work to do with standardizing the certified car package. The Certified Used vehicle package is stated clearly on the website, regarding what is included and what is expected. Yet several elements were not offered up front and needed extensive follow-up to obtain. These were: floor mats, owners manual, certified used warranty manual, and a copy of 150 point inspection checklist.I would recommend this dealership, but know what you're entitled to when you decide to buy!

The reason I went to Honda Universe was because a friend of mine had such a positive experience with her salesperson that she said I should go and talk to him. I was not planning on buying a Honda CRV, as I did not have a great experience at another Honda dealership. She called to make sure he was working before we went. My experience with John as a salesperson was very enjoyable and extremely informative. I was not sold on a Honda until he showed me all the features the CRV had that I was unaware of. I was given a price and came back with my husband to purchase the vehicle. However, there was a discrepancy in the price which the salesperson disclosed to me before going into the finance department which caused me to not purchase the car. I was extremely satisfied with the way I was treated as far as my experience with my salesperson, just unfortunately not happy with the way the deal went. Would definitely recommend John McGraw as a salesperson.

I was in a difficult financial position and needed to get out of my previous vehicle ASAP. Greg Levine was an absolute Godsend. He worked tirelessly to make the deal work for my nearly impossible financial situation and was able to put me in the vehicle I truly loved. He stayed well past his scheduled quitting time to make sure I had no problems and to make me completely happy. He stated that this was the start of me being his customer with the purchase of my Civic Si, not the end. That he would be available to me if I ever needed anything. He was true to his word. I had a question and needed to come in to see him. He got right back to me and made himself available at my convenience. Lindsey Mulrain was equally as easy and wonderful to work with in the financial office. I found her to be extremely caring towards her customers needs when it came to all aspects of the purchase. Again, she also reassured me that if I needed anything at all ever she would be there to help out. Because of the late hour, we were waiting for the final ok on the financial end for the next morning. She took the time to get in touch with me to let me know all was in place. Above and beyond doesn't begin to cover how far this dealership and these employees will go to please the customer. Greg and Lindsey helped me more than words can express and I am truly grateful. I can't say enough.

Dealership claims customer service is number one! Not for me! Traded in 2012 Chrysler 300 with 8300 miles to get 25k from dealer. Leased 2013 CRV. Signed paperwork on Monday morning after leaving my car and taking new car saturday. Thursday was called back because manager signed lease paperwok wrong. Went back again Thursday signed new paperwork, cal my home 1 hr later they gave me wrong paperwork to sign! Send employee to my home to again sign correct paperwork. Still no check and Greg Levine salesman tells me on Monday waiting for paperwork to get to lease co before my check can be cut for my car they had for over a week. I called manager Mr. Frederick who i explained the problem and he told me i will have to just wait for my check and then proceeded to insult me and my workplace until i just hung up! Go to any other Honda Dealer!

The entire process working with Honda Universe was first class. I don't think I've worked with a more professional caring salesperson in 25 years of purchasing vehicles than Greg Levine. He truly cares about his customers and takes the time to understand each customers needs. Ialso must add that I got a great deal. Kudos also to Brian D'Zio in finance. Brian explained every detail in the contract and made certain all questions were answered to my complete understanding. If you are in the market for a new Honda, do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Greg at Honda Universe. I think you will be happy you did.

I must say that Greg Levine is a pure joy to work with.I have bought 3 or 4 cars from him and I would HIGHLY recommend him to everyone! Worst experience ever took my car in on several recalls refused two then said cant do the third because we don't have the tools . Told them if they cant fix the ignition key problem don't take the key out, of coarse didn't fix and took key out and no one took responsibility to fix it just got run around car completely disabled

I actually switched from a loyal Toyota customer to a Honda advocate after dealing with this dealership. Krystle is to be commended on her insight in dealing with clients. Moreover, she is smart, articulate and is keenly aware of the customer/s needs. I would highly recommend this dealership. The worst dealer I have ever been to. I purchased a new cr-v and paid cash and that process lasted over 5 hours. Had the first service there and they did not include tire rotation which I had to pay for. There was a recall on the cr-v so I called the dealer to make a appointment. When I got to the dealership I had asked how long would it take to do the recall. The person at the counter stated about 1/2 to 3/4 of a hour. It took them over 45 minutes just to put the car in the bay and when they were finished I was there over 2 hours. When I was called a few days later about my how my service was I gave them a poor rating. A week later I received a call from the service manager to find out why I rated them so low. After telling him about what had happen he offered me my next service for free oil change and tire rotation and said he would e- mail those coupons. I am still waiting, and will be going to a different dealer for my service moving forwardDo not use this dealer for anything.

From the moment I spoke with John McGraw he made me feel welcome. I have had a checkered financial past but he encouraged me to allow them to help me and they did. They got me financing without ever being condescending. T was a long day but John stayed with me offering refreshments and stories while we waited. Honda universe has an outstanding employee in John and the other members of his team. I will now consider Honda universe before going anywhere else and will recommend them highly. Will buy there again.When I ready to take car I noticed what I thought were scratches, John had the detailer come out and they just wiped off they, were only smudges. John called me the next day to see if everything was ok and if I had any issues I should give him a call.

Scott Wendling was a very patient salesman as it took me two hours to just make a decision to purchase. He was courteous and very informative which made making a tough financial decision in this scary economy easier. Honda is a long lasting product with great reviews and taking on a long term loan knowing the car will still be running is a great feeling plus the extended warranty I purchased made sense to purchase. I was leasing a 2011 Honda Civic that I got from Hamilton Honda.My father was leasing the car for me, because my credit was just not good enough. The car was in his name, but I was the one driving the vehicle. My lease was up in February 2013 (a 2 year lease). I went to Honda Universe to either buy the 2011 Honda Civic or lease a new Honda whichever was the best deal money wise. I did not return to Hamilton Honda, because they did not want to lease me a car, but Honda Universe said that they would lease me a car. This meant I didn't have to have my dad involved in the deal which is a win win for everybody....Or so we thought. Tony Caruso was my salesman and we weighed the options. It was beneficial to me to lease a new Honda Accord. My husband wanted to see me in a bigger, safer car.My father and I signed a paper saying that they would pay the miles that were over on the Honda Civic. I put $2,000 down on the new Honda Accord and my payment is $325.00 a month. Not too bad right.......However my father just got a letter in the mail stating that he owes approx $2,500 for the miles that were over in the Honda Civic. Why is it that this is allowed to happen after Tony Caruso and Honda Universe said that they would eat those miles. That was the reason I was buying the new Honda Accord and not buying the car I was already driving the Honda Civic. I was perfectly happy with that car. Honda Universe said they made a mistake.....they thought the Honda Civic was a three year lease and not a two year lease. That is not my fault that Tony Caruso and the manager who makes the decisiones made this mistake. I don't even want the Honda Accord anymore. I feel like I have been taken advantage of because of someone elses mistake. This is bad business and not a way to treat a customer. I will never buy another car from Honda Universe as long as I live. Honda Universe and Tony Caruso made a mistake...or so they say and now My dad and I are stuck paying for it. Unfortunately if my dad does not give them the money it will go on his credit. Honda Universe did take off $500 but who cares it's still not the way you do business. I am very unhappy and very mad. Me and my father were taken advantage of and I don't like it one bit. I will never refer anyone to your business and if anyone asks me I will tell them of the horrible ordeal that took place. I came into Honda Universe not really knowing what to expect or if I'd even be able to get a loan with my bad credit and my husband's lack of credit. John McGraw met us outside and offered to help us. Boy did he help us. He got us into an amazing 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse with payments within my price range. He wasn't like any other salesman I've ever worked with before. He wasn't pushy or forceful. He was very helpful and so willing to help us. Made the experience fun and pain free. I definitely will come back for future car purchases and I will recommend Honda Universe to any friends or family who are in need of a new or used vehicle.

My rating of excellent is due to my salesmen Greg Levine.I went in for one specific car only. Some times salespeople try to talk you into another car..Not Greg. He said "Fran if this is the car you want I will try everything for you to drive it off the lot tonight. It was late and the banks were closing to get approval. So I left and 5 minutes later Greg called me from his cell phone and said the approval came in!!! I went in the morning and drove my dream car home. There was a titanium warranty package I had the option to buy and I wasn't going to. However, Greg (not being pushy) explained for only 2 dollars a day(60 a month) I could have this total coverage. He explained in detail what was covered. It made so much sense to me then and I got it.I am thrilled with my car. Greg Levine of Honda Universe made it possible without the heavy handed sales pitch. I bought a Honda accord Ex-l v6 from them 1 yr back and decided to go for wheel alignment check and tire rotations (april 2012). I called the service guy and told him I'd a quotation from Fire & Stone and I stay far away from your place, nearly 45 min drive, And if you either check this free or offer better price, I'll come over there and he asked me to come the next day promising a better price.Once I go there, he says he can't do free and secondly he says nod body can beat his price. When I showed the fire stone quote, he got taken back and refused to offer me better price. I told him, since I came all this long, at least match the price, I'll do it here itself instead of going back to FS but he refused. I was shocked that this guy can play with me like this promising me to come down from a long distance.he fooled me.This is the 2nd time Honda Universe has given false promise like bait and switch.I never went to them again for service.

I am willing to pay for a 36 month lease was "Not Unreasonable" and I should "Come In". We agreed on price by email and phone once each more. agreed and confirmed an appointment because it was about a 40 minute drive. when i walked in Erin, the internet salesperson, handed me off to a great salesperson who never saw the communication until I walked in. he took it to a sales manager who gave him a rate that was $100/mo more than agreed.

While I am reacting to a single incident, realize it was over the span of a week and ended with some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I brought back my vehicle for promised repair after the purchase. I also experienced a piece of the vehicle fall off while driving and asked that they repair that as well. After several days, I was told the original repair was completed and I could pick up the vehicle. I asked about the additional repair and was told it was not repaired as they "didn't know how to fix it." I advised them of the extended warranty I purchased and was told I would be called right back after the tech spoke with purchasing department. That was a Friday. I didn't get a call all weekend and ended up calling the dealership on Tuesday the week following. I was told they didn't fix the secondary issue as it was not covered in the warranty and they even looked at it but didn't know how to fix it.I went on Wednesday to get the vehicle and voiced my displeasure about not being called back. I was told "well, I don't work on Saturdays." Upon inspection of the original repair, I was displeased to learn that the "brand new part" was scratched, had glue on it and was below my expectations and satisfaction. I eventually was directed to Sales manager who, rather than listen to what my complaint was, would rather tell me how much he paid for his car and I got a good deal. He told me several times his only obligation, as per the contract I signed, was that the car would pass inspection and his job was done. At this point, I still hadn't told him what my complaint was regarding the shoddy workmanship.Mike brought up the secondary repair and regarding the incident where the part came off stated "I don't want to call you a liar but, if something DID break, it isn't our problem." At this point, I became angry enough to walk away and end the conversation. That was not good enough for Mike. He continued to banter me about what it was I wanted. I said forget it. He said No, tell me what you think we are responsible for after you buy your car. I ignored him and he followed me around the entire building to where my car was. He has to be one of the most self centered, ignorant people I have ever dealt with. Customer service from Honda Universe ended the minute I paid for my vehicle. I will not go there unless I have warranty work unless I can find a reciprocal dealer/service shop.Not only would I NOT recommend this dealership, I would encourage all to stay away from this one.

I feel out of all the dealerships we visited, Honda Universe was the the only one who strived to make us happy and make sure we drove home in the car we absolutely loved!! Causeway Honda treated us like we were stupid., trying to sell us a van with a bent frame and then after that they tried switching the vehicle we were signing for with a lower end model. At least at Honda Universe I am confident in the purchase and feel they will continue to ensure our happiness with our vehicle! Integrity is an important and rare quality in forging a relationship with a car dealership!!!

Our experience at Honda Universe was a pleasurable on from the very beginning. We were in the market for a new minivan and called around to get information about costs and availability of the vehicles. Meredith was up front and straightforward with all the information we asked for and explained every cost, and let us know what vans were available on the lot and offsite. She disclosed every step of the cost process and left nothing out. That was very important to us because no one wants to walk into a dealership with a price that works for you and find out that there were "hidden" costs that weren't mentioned. That is deceitful. Everyone was very nice and personable. We even ran into an old neighborhood friend of my husband's from their childhood and he is a sales associate at this dealership! I had a Honda Accord several years ago and loved it very much. We were very excited to be Honda owners once again. The van rides so nice and is a very comfortable vehicle to drive. I absolutely love it! My mother-in-law will be looking for a new car soon and we will definitely be bringing her to this dealership to check out the Honda cars.Overall, we had a great experience from beginning to end at Honda Universe!

First truck i bought in 2004. This truck i bought recently, lets just say brakes squeek, ac works sometimes, rear door lock nit working, battery died, car revs dangerously in gear, electrical problem which cause interferance with speakers, i found rust on the bottom if the rear door and lower control arms damaged rust. So my experience is horrible. I wrote a good review initially until 3 days later the truck started showing its dark side. John Mcgraw nice guy but not too educated on his product he is selling. The 100 and whatever safety point inspection is a joke and the service and sales department speak to different languages apparently horrible communication issue. Lets just say i wont be purchasing my third vehicle from here nor will the people closest to me. I got suckered into this truck now since i bought a full warrany i only have to pay the $100 deductable for each item repair, its gonna add up. Thanks John for calling me back, yea right. Honda Universe went downhill since 2004. Dont be a sucker buy elsewhere.

I have to say, we were very satisfied with my experience with Honda Universe. We worked with a salesman named John McGraw. He was very knowledgeable, pleasant, friendly, and was not pushy. This means quite a bit, as we have been to several dealerships and dealt with salespeople who made us feel we had to make a decision now, which always leads us to leave. John was different and it was refreshing. Hopefully he is a reflection on the dealership as a whole.

When I first walked into Honda Universe I wasn't really sure what to expect. John walked up to me, shook my hand and got right down to business. He was kind, knowledgeable, honest, and up front about everything. He worked with me so patiently and anwsered all my questions in a professional manner and was completly honest about everything. He is very professional but can still make you laugh. I give him five stars for all five. If you go into Honda Universe ask for John McGraw and you won't regret it, he will make you car buying experience all the better. I recommend John and Honda Universe for any one looking for a car.

I went to Honda Universe to buy a Honda Fit.The experience buying the car the initial night was great. However, once they got me out the door.... This is another experience. I asked for 2 things, which they agreed to:-Send an Owners Manual.-Send my License plates.They completely ignored me, after having to call 6 times.I finally got the license plates, after the temporary tags had expired. I had to risk driving around, horrible feeling.I am still waiting on Greg Levine to send me the owners manual.I know he has no intentions on sending me the manual, just makes me so disappointed with him.

When we walked into The Honda Universe on Route 88 in Lakewood, NJ, we were immediately greeted by a sales consultant; Scott Wendling. My father and I both told him our situation in looking for a used car to purchase with low mileage and within a price range of 5k-7.5k. Like any average car salesman, Scott took us to the dealer's used Honda's and informed us on their year, model, mileage and price and their price. All we came across though, as a father and son, were out of range, higher-priced cars that we would never imagine buying. (The lower end Hondas in the lot were selling for about 12k-17k: Much higher than we wanted to pay.) But....unlike an average sales consultant (i.e. the men and women at Pine Belt Chevy and Pine Belt Subaru), Scott did not turn us away and did not give us empty promises when a car within our price range would appear. Instead, he went above and beyond to sit us down and discuss with us a price drop, payment planning, and a car fitting of our standards: a 2009 Honda Civic Lx Sedan. Scott persuaded us to invest in a reputable car we would never imagine riding home in (With reasonable payment and financing) and made the whole process of obtaining the car very smooth, easy, funny, and very much worth our time. Scott and the rest of the amiable team at Honda Universe turned our negative thoughts on car shopping/purchasing inside-out and gave us a whole new perspective. If my father, myself, or anyone we know needs a new or used car, we would not think twice of going anywhere else but Honda Universe to resume business with Scott Wendling and his advanced team. Greg made the whole car searching/questioning/leasing experience a pleasure. The total time in the dealership was 2 hours.... Right away he went to work with our expectations, and delivered. He was considerate, polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. I feel anxiety when first getting there due to a previous experience the night before at another dealership but upon leaving felt confident in the decision and relieved the whole process was painless.... While the salesman was excellent, the guy who closed and financed the deal Pierre, was completely incompetent. My wife and I are from different states but we were both moving to NY. They didnt tell us we'd have to pay taxes in both states. They also sold us the car without an inspection sticker. We called them as soon as we got home about the inspection sticker and they told us it would come in the mail along with our plates. Of course, they sit for about 10 days and then call to tell us about the tax issue. My wife hustles and gets a NY drivers licence and only then does this dealership process our paperwork and apply for licence plates. They also tell us that they don't have an inspection sticker and we'd have to pay to get it inspected. Now, our temporary tags have expired, they have no idea when the plates will come; and I'm unable to legally drive my car, park on the street; and my apt complex requires a licence plate in order to park in the lots or garage. Honda Universe has royally screwed me over in every which way. On top of all this, the car makes a grinding noise whenever we're driving around 30 mph, likely a transmission problem which I don't believe anyone noticed during our test-drive. Yet another thing this car dealership conveniently failed to mention.In short, I was initially very happy to get what I thought was a fantastic deal on a fantastic car from a friendly and knowledgable dealer. I was going to recommend them highly to friends and family and planned on buying future cars from them. It has turned to a complete nightmare and I can only pray that I come out of it with minimal financial losses.

My experience with John McGraw as a person and a man in car sales business was a positive one. We hit some bumps in the road literally regarding some issues outside of John's control and John was always quick to respond, adjust, and adapt to these problems we encountered. John also responded to all my requests regarding numbers up front, the type of car, and not wanting to have to deal with more than himself during the sale which I find offensive. I was turned off only by the dealership as a result of the finance manager and another salesman there that came over ignoring John's forwarded request from me to not deal with multiple agents and feel overwhelmed and/or hear things that I had already known about regarding knowing my credit score beforehand. If everyone at Honda Universe was like John McGraw, not only would the deal with me have gone through; but so would many more if they treat other potential customers the same way there. Thanks John for being real with me and doing your best to land a deal. In all fairness to the dealership, the one positive experience was the quick refunded check after the test-driven vehicle I had purchased originally was test-driven with no gas and did not find out about a shaking steering wheel due to confined driving time as a result of the dealer before John that never notified John about the fuel tank being empty. After realizing the car I had purchased had an issue and probably never went through the honda pre-certified point inspection test, John did his best to get me into another car and I decided to hold off. When I am ready, I hope to go through John McGraw to complete a successful purchase as long as his co-workers take what he says seriously regarding not wanting to be ganged up on. Thanks John for all of your help and the processing of the quick refund on my original purchase that went sour, trying to find me the vehicle I wanted, and doing your best by asking your co-workers to stay away despite their own agendas which you had no control over.

the service provided by michael weeden and christine raccinelli was exemplary. michael's work was excellent and timely. my wife and i were in and out in 1 hour and he went out of his way to find the color car my wife requested with the appropriate options. the lease agreement took another hour or so and we expierienced about 2 hours in total as oppossed to 5 plus hours with our prior lease. christina handled a few calls relative to the overall deal and helped to dramatically set up the overall deal framework so that we did not waste time going over deal parameters. additionally both a requested pinstripe and our new plates were provided very quickly. the overall expeirience was a pleasure according to my wife and believe me having been married to her for 42 years that kind of praise should not be taken lightly!

My husband and I went into Honda Universe to get a new lease on an Accord. When asked what price we were willing to pay per month, we simply said, "Get us the lowest price you can." John came back with a great price that was right in line with what we wanted spend. He found the color and model we wanted and we drove away in our brand new Accord that same day. I usually loathe dealing with car salesmen, because of all the haggling and phony nonsense. However, every time I come to Honda Universe for a car, I deal solely with Greg Levine. When I left the dealership today after leasing a new Civic, I said to Greg, "Usually, buying a new car is a nightmare, but every time I deal with you, it's an absolute pleasure." And I meant that from the bottom of my heart. He's friendly without being phony. He has a wonderful sense of humor and a way about him that puts one at ease. He knows every aspect of every car he shows. I would recommend him to anyone thinking of buying a new or used car.

As soon as I went in Jerome was there answering questions for me. He was patient and didn't cut the test drives short at all (some dealers take you 1/8 of a mile down the road and then make you come back). Also when it came time that I was ready to buy he has several leasing and financing options and helped me to pick the one that best worked for me. Also, for once I feel like I actually got what my trade in was worth!

My husband and I drove down from Monmouth County to check out what Honda Universe had to offer. We heard that John McGraw was "the" guy to see since friends of ours said he was so great and helpful with them a few weeks ago. Everything we heard about the dealership and the inventory surpassed our expectation and John was always 10 steps ahead of us showing us what options there are for the Pilot. We have a toddler so our list of "musts" we're pretty annoying.. But we always felt like John had our best interests in mind. We had to rush out that afternoon, but we'll be back! I pulled into the car lot at honda universe just to look at a bmw that had caught my eye a few days prior. Pulled in just To look at the interior, after getting pleasantly greeted by rahsaan jones in a non pressuring and hasseling way and having brief conversation with him about the bmw I went into his office and ended up leaving with a 3 new cars! A honda crv, a nissan altima and a hyundai sante fe! Mr jones was friendly, down to earth and extremely honest and helpful! Definately will come purchase from Honda Universe again!

No words can explain how awesome of a dealer Scott is! We have dealt with Scott multiple times and each time he is always sooooo helpful and friendly. Buying a car usually gets boring, but not with Scott. He will keep you smiling the whole time. He does his absolute best to make sure your getting the best deal possible. I was extremely pleased with the professional salesmanship and service provided by John McGraw and Dennis Luber when I started my search for a new vehicle. John was very knowledgeable of the Honda Product line and was very personable and easy to work with. His personality, knowledge and no-pressure sales approach was what made me stick with the purchase of a Honda Accord from Honda Universe. I went to this dealership knowing exactly what I wanted. While other dealerships chose to try and sell me something else when they didn't have my car in stock, the employees at Honda Universe did not. They assured me they can find me the car I wanted and though I had waited a bit in the beginning, once the car was found, the process was swift and I had the car within the week. The salesman I was dealing with drove all the way to Deleware to get me my car and for that I am appreciative. Because I did wait an unexpected amount of time, though it was no fault of their own, I was credited. My experience was unlike any other dealership. I was never "hounded," never felt pressured, and everyone treated me with kindness and answered every one of questions clearly. I love my car and I intend on continuing my service at Honda Universe for service as well as any future purchases!

My wife were out shopping the new car market. We stopped by Honda Universe and was greeted by this gentleman named John. Not pushy like some places we have been. Very attentitive to our questions. Even though we did not purchase at this time, when we do return we hope John will be there to help us once again. Of all the dealerships we visited Honda Universe was the most friendly. No high pressure sales.

From the very beginning (a phone conversation with Christina R., the night before) we felt that the people at Honda Universe were friendly and would be good to work with ...Scott (and Anthony Maffucci ) made our sales buying experience POSSIBLE and enjoyable. At first, we were looking at a Honda Pilot and ended up switching gears and looking at a Honda Odyssey...which we purchased. We LOVE the car and were able to agree upon a price that is doable for us. Phil was friendly, responsive, patient, understanding and outgoing.The only hiccup occured once the deal was made. I waited 90 minutes for the sole finance person to finish with another customer and then prepare my paperwork.I was surprised the gas tank wasn't filled and that the 'oil life remaining' read 50% on the dashboard.I was also surprised that even with very good credit, the interest rate offered was over 5%.

John is their top salesman, in my view. He's the friendliest, most knowledgeable, and hardest working man on the floor. I bought a new Pilot from him this past September and there was not one glitch in the whole process. It went smoothly and quickly. I had no complaints. It was perfect. With the winter coming, I thought it would be best to switch from my 2002 Buick Century to a more reliable car. My mother and I went to Honda Universe to look at their CRVs and other cars, John was very friendly, honest, and a great help. When I test drove a 2009 CRV it felt just like a car, and I was very comfortable in it. We made the purchase and I'm very satisfied, I recommend John to anyone who is switching to a Honda vehicle

I had never owned a Honda before but I had my heart set on a Civic Coupe. I was particular in that it also had to be an EX model preferably in rallye red. John McGraw spent four weeks tracking down the vehicle, calling in favors and he even picked the car up himself just to make me happy. Mission accomplished! I love my new car and it suits me perfectly. John was great! If he said he would call, he called and he never tried to sway me from exactly what I wanted. We settled on a price in our initial negotiation but I didn't have anything in writing to verify that amount so I was a bit worried that something would change. When the car became available, there was no price drama or dispute when I actually signed the papers. It's nerve racking buying a car but John made it much easier. I would highly recommend Honda Univere and John McGraw.

I came in as a first time buyer and was scared and weary about making such a huge purchase but Fred made it easy and an amazing experience. He made me feel that for once that not all car salesmen were schemers and crooks who would do anything to get me for all that I'm worth. Fred is the complete opposite of that. An overall great and honest person, who treated me like a person not dollar signs. Fred took the time to explain every little detail even if it was self explanatory which was greatly appreciated. What an excellent experience I had. I have been leasing cars for many years, this is the 1st time I went to Honda Universe and would recomend them to everyone. friendly people with good prices. do not try to force things on you and let you look at the inventory and let you try more then one vehicle. you are not pressured into any one vehicle. after i bought the vehicle they gave me a honda car care gift pkg. when i came to pivk up the plates the gem james came over to me and the salesman john and said i am giving you a remote starter for free, i could not believe haw nice this place is.even service fixes with out hassle any problems .

This was my first time in a Honda dealership and I must say I was extremely impressed with the sales, finance and management staff at Honda Universe. I leased a brand new 2012 Honda Accord SE, my kids and I absolutely love the car! I was planning on buying/leasing a Honda because of it's reputation for dependability and fuel efficiency but I was not expecting such attentive service, relaxed atmosphere and wonderful buying experience. I will, without hesitation, recommend Honda Universe to all my family and friends. I may have to turn in my Honda Accord in 3 years but I have a dealership for a lifetime.

This is the 3rd car I have purchased from this dealership and the 2nd car in which Scott was my salesman. I found Scott to be very professional and quite accommodating. For the most part I despise car salesmen. They are always pushy and most times sketchy, but because of Scott I will continue to purchase any future Hondas from this dealership.

I saw a car there that I liked, got a price and went home to think about it. I called later and made a lower offer. They accepted. When I went there to leave the deposit, they reneged. Later I called the owner's office and told the person who answered what happened. She said someone would call me. No one ever did.

I drove an hour up to Honda Universe to check a used Honda Fit that I saw on the Internet. When I called, they said the car was still available and quoted me a good price. I took the car for a test drive, and liked it. When I asked Jerome if it was a Honda Certified Used Vehicle, he gave me a vague answer. I asked him to make it clearer, and he said it was "qualified" to be a Honda Certified Used Vehicle, but wasn't yet. They showed me the Carfax for the car, which said it was Honda Certified. I agreed to buy the car, and when we sat down for the paperwork, the fun started. First, there was a "mandatory" $198 charge for window etching, which Jerome said I had to take and would get me a discount on my auto insurance. When I went to the business manager Cory Bean, he told me it would be an additional $875 to "certify" the car and get the warranty associated with a Certified Used Honda. I declined that and signed, and agreed to pick up the car a few days later. The next morning, I called the state Division of Consumer Affairs, and they said window etching is definitely an option, not mandatory. My insurance company said I would get no discount for it, because it already had an alarm system. When I called Jerome back to complain, he said the etching has been mandatory in THAT dealership since 1992, and if they let me back out of it, everyone who bought a car from them since 1992 could sue for their money back. He said I would have gotten an insurance discount for it if the car didn't have an alarm system. But that was moot, because the car DID have an alarm system. I said they should have tacked the extra $200 on to the price instead of quoting me a lower price to get me in there and then padding the bill. He said he'd talk to the manager, and called back to say the manager decided to cancel the deal. That was fine with me, but I spent four hours (plus two hours travel time) in the dealership in a process that should have been two hours at most. I later found out from two separate Honda dealers (one of whom eventually sold me a new Fit for $2,000 more than the used one) that Honda Certified Used Vehicles come with the company warranty, and the charge for that is included in the price. When I told them Honda Universe wanted to tack on an additional $875 for the Certified Used Honda warranty, the other dealers said it was BS. A Toyota dealer also told me that a Certified Used Toyota comes that way and there is no extra charge for the warranty. Unless you just hit the lottery or otherwise have tons of money to throw around, I suggest staying far away from Honda Universe.

First you have to know that I HATE CAR SALESMEN. When I walked into this dealership right from the start I was happy because NO ONE jumped all over you. Everyone was pleasant and NOT NAGGING!! The salesmen (Brian D'Zio) was very hospitable and very sensitive to our needs. I would highly recommend this car dealership to ALL of my friends.

When i walked into the dealer ship i was approached right away and was taken to sit down and discuss things i explained to these gentlemen exactly what i wanted and they got me just that. i absolutely love my new car it is an amazing veichle and i am so happy that i choose honda universe. i got an amazing deal right in my budget and i have these men to thank for that. i tell every person who says they want a new car to go to honda universe and deal with these three gentlemen they are absolutely amazing.

Very unprofessional, I called to make a service appointment and when I brought the car there, they didnt even have the part!!! And apparently they dont even make appointments, all you have to do is show up and just wait in line. Service "technician" was also nice enough to speed through the parking lot and slam on my brakes while I have Progressive monitoring how I drive. I love Hondas, but I will never bring my car there ever again. Thank you for a terrible experience.

After visiting two other dealerships on Saturday afternoon (a VW dealer and then a Kia dealer) with my sister, 4 month old son and my 3 year old nephew and not even so much as getting a hello from a sales person, I decided to call Honda Universe and make an appointment, as I had seen an ad in the Auto Shopper advertising some cars I was interested in. After the cruddy reception I had received elsewhere, I went in cautiously but optimistic about the service I would receive. I'm young but made some credit mistakes in college and because of that my credit score is less than perfect and I'm often a challenge to find an approval for being that I'm still in graduate school. I knew going in I might be there a while due to my credit history, but within 30 minutes they had two preliminary approvals: to purchase a 2007 Accord or to lease a 2012 Civic. I wanted the Accord due to its size and great ratings, but in the end it was the Civic that did it for me! Tony was very knowledgable, friendly and answered all of my questions - even the silly ones! On top of that, the process was soo quick - I went in at 2:30 and left by 5pm! I can't say enough good things about this dealership! I've only had the Civic for 6 hours and I love it already. My next car will be a Honda as well and I'll be sure to go back to Honda Universe to see Tony and the rest of the staff there that made my experience so great. Thank you!!

First off the place is not very clean or organized. The salesman had no business card.He also had no extension. To speak with him required two operators. The manager misqouted Honda's apr offer by a full percent (in his favor). In addition orignial price quote was over a thousand dollars higher than Freehold Honda. I did buy a Honda but not from these guys. Too bad too because they are close to home.

This was my first time looking for a brand new car. I went to Honda Universe and was very pleased with every one. All the sales men were friendly, helpful and able to answer all my questions. I wasnt sure how to go about getting the car, deciding between lease or finance, new or used. Kevin Depiano assisted me with every thing I needed to know. I wanted to know more information about a lease, so I came back the next day and Sal Cuomo was able to break it down and explain it to me in detail so I had no worries. I then had a few questions about payments and how to trade in my old car. Anthony Maffucci was a huge help! After the weekend I went back on Monday, Kevin finished my deal and I left with a 2012 Civic EX lease. The 3 gentlemen were so nice and made me feel like a valued customer. They worked hard to find the best decision for me. I would absolutly recommend this dealership, as well as any of the 3 employees that helped me! They were wonderful!

I went to Honda Universe and spoke with Alicia Alonzo about purchasing a new vehicle and explained that I am always nervous about buying a car because I have been bullied and taken advantage of, in the past, with dealerships that I have dealt with. Ms. Alonzo made me feel at ease with that and she took my concern into consideration, she was very polite and understanding, not only of my situations in the past, but also of my financial situation. She helped me to find an affordable and safe vehicle that I could find comfort in. When I did not understand some of the things that she had mentioned, she took the time to explain them to me. Not only did she take the time to help me with all of my concerns, but she made herself available to help me with any other questions that I had on different days thereafter.I believe that when any customer leaves a place feeling good about their purchase, without buyers remorse, that is great customer service and Alicia Alonzo made me feel that way about her sales service. If only there could be more sales people in the world that are caring, helpful, patient, and considerate, just as Ms Alonzo was with me, this world would be a nicer place. I appreciate that she has helped me to find a good, dependable, and safe vehicle for my daughter and I to ride in each day. I was shopping the Pilot and requested some information from several local Honda dealers. Alicia Alonso from Honda Universe responded and returned prompt, professional answers to all of my questions. She was the most responsive and helpful person I had dealt with in a long time while shopping for a car. She was the main reason I went to this specific dealership. I am glad I did. The entire experience was a great one. It also helped that they had the most competitive prices around. I already recommended them to others looking for a Honda.

I was looking into trading in my 2007 civic for something of a smaller payment if possible. I am about forty five minutes drive and everything was done over the phone. They understood that I didnt want to take that drive if nothing was going to be accomplished. They were professtional and got the figures done for me as quickly as possible. Within a day I was signing my papers and picking up my brand new 2011 honda accord. I have never been so happy that have already sent a friend to purchase a vehicle and she has been driving a brand new 2011 civic. I will defiantly be sending any friends to this dealership , where they have a team efforts to go above and beyond for the customers happiness.

I have been looking to purchase a car for awhile, but have been patiently awaiting the right used car to become available. I visited Honda Universe this past week and within a few hours I found the perfect car the price was great but the experience was even better. My salesman Brian DZio was a complete pleasure to work with. He was professional and knowledgeable, providing me all I needed to make an informed decision. My husband and I came into Honda Universe after spending the entire day looking at cars. Scott met us in the parking lot and we immediately became interested in a 2008 Accord Sedan. I was just really looking and had no intentions to really buy a car that day. After spending more than 3 hours at the dealership I ended up with a really good deal on the car. Scott was very informative but it was Jesus that kept us entertained with his stories. His personally is really bigger than life. He was determined that I would leave with the car and made me the best deal that he could. He met my price range and after a short set back in the last paper signing stage made the deal happen. He is definitely a good sales manager. Persitent but not to the point of obnoxious. I had walked away earlier from a car that I was all set to buy at another dealership due to the obnoxious pressure of the sales manager. I wanted the car but was so annoyed at the pressure that I left. Believe it or not, not all consumers fell off the turnip truck. We know when we are being handed a bunch of bull. Kudos to Jesus for staying on the right side on the line and still getting his job done.

They were absolutely wonderful! This was my first time buying a car and I was extremely stressed out. I had my 1 year old daughter with me and they were so kind and patient with both me and my daughter. They made a stressful time enjoyable! I would recommend this dealership.

I visited Honda universe on April 11th 2011. I didn't go in with the intentions of getting a brand new car i was just looking for a car to get me from point A to point B. Jesus and Brian helped me out so much they got me into a brand new 2011 Honda civic. The service with them was excellent. Usually when you buy a new car you have to wait for everything to process and get the car ready but these men had me out is less then an hour. the reason why i am writing this review is because the service i had at Honda universe with Jesus and Brian was the best service i have had i was never left unattended and they tried there hardest to get me a price in my price range. I leased my car for Honda universe and i will be returning there to get my next car and will be recommending people that i know to buy a car from them.

I went to Honda Universe in search of a white hybrid honda civic for my birthday. At first I was informed that the only one available was going to be in silver. Althought I was disappointed, I still wanted the car. I waited a couple of days for them to get the car from a different dealer to Lakewood, and in the meantime Honda Universe found me not only my white hybrid, but PEARL white. I am the happiest girl in the world with my car and it's all thanks to Jerry and Brian!

Do not deal with spent hours a dealership day before to work out numbers as I was trading in a carAfter working out all the details the sales manager told me not to worry about a deposit cause he knew I was coming back The next day. The next day I received a phone call from the salesman that my car had been sold ??? I wouldve left a deposit and passed on two other cars that are now sold. People were very friendly and you felt comfortable there. Our Salesman was very nice polite. The sales manager James was very concerned about our experience. I also spoke to the service Manager (service for your Car) who was very interested in what I had to say about having our car serviced there. We have owned Honda's for the last 12 years and never had any problems with the cars. Great Car.

THEY CLAIMED THEY SOLD THE CAR THEY WE AGREED TO; THEN TRIED TO SWITCH TO A "DEMO"; THEN SAID I HAD TO PAY EXTRA FOR THE CAR I ORIGINALLY WANTED. THEY ARE DECEITFUL LIARS. THEY RUIN THE HONDA NAME, WHICH IS A SHAME BECAUSE I ALREADY OWN ONE HONDA, WHICH WE'VE BEEN PLEASLED WITH. I MAY VERY WELL NOT BUY ANOTHER HONDA BECAUSE OF THEM. STAY AWAY FROM HONDA UNIVERSE!!!!!!!!!!!I was shopping around for 2011 Pilot Touring, and I went through Truecar.com to get the best quotes and Honda Universe was on the top of the list with best price in tri -state. I gave a call and spoke with Kimberly and she was very nice and said they definitely will honor the price quote that i have, so i scheduled an appointment and drove all the way to the dealership (about 1.5 hr drive). the sales person that I was assigned to is Jerome Hofmann, he was friendly and confirmed that they would absolutely honor the quote that I have. so far so good. and unfortunately they didn't have the color(s) of my choice so Jerome asked me to put down a deposit of $500 and said that it would take 8 to 12 weeks to get it directly form Honda also said they will let me know if they can locate the car in tri-state area in which case I should have my car with in 1 to 2 weeks and when I was hesitant to put down the deposit, he offered me 10 days time to decide.Came back and did some research on-line and found out that there were 3 other dealers that had the color of my choice, I called up all the three dealers and nobody was able to match the price with Honda Universe and one of them even said that " Honda Universe is promising you that price because they don't have it in stock and once you put down the deposit they will change the numbers" after a week I called Jerome and agreed to put down the deposit and he again assured me that he will get my car as soon as possible and asked me to come down to the deposit. again I drove all the way and when the time came to fill in the paper work.... SURPRISEEEEEEEEEE ... the numbers changed ( $700 more than the initial quote) when asked about it he said destination charges were not included in the initial quote blah blah blah....... when I showed him that the initial quote clearly states including destination charges, he tried to convince me with typical sales man BS which I was not buying into. after 30 mins back and forth, finally sales manager shows up and introduces him self and said "we can't offer you the initial quote because we are no longer in business with Truecar.com and I can't do anything about it" to which I replied then why didn't you or your sales man say that when I called up before arriving here? and what would have happened if I had put down the deposit during my first visit???no apologies what so ever from the Manager.I just walked out.one week later, I came across another dealership who not only had my color of choice but also beat the Honda Universe initial quote by $400.I gave one star because, there was no option for Zero stars.but I again I thank Honda Universe for saving me $400, and not to mention the whole deal at the other dealership(I don't want to mention the name here) completed in 4 hours and I was driving my Brand New Pilot 2011 Touring.

I had only stopped by Honda Universe to look at cars because I was interested in buying a Civic or an Accord in the next few months but the employees were so helpful and nice that I ended up purchasing one that day. Jo Ann was unlike any car salesperson that I had ever met. She was so sweet and patient which made me feel very comfortable while considering the otherwise stressful decision of making such a large purchase. I HIGHLY recommend working with her. Jesus was also extremely helpful as well as James who worked with me to get a price that I could afford. Although I did not work with Sigmond directly, he was a comforting presence during the sale process. I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a car!

Had a great exchange with internet salesperson, came in to see about a 2011 Honda Odyssey, preapproved and with a substantial downpayment. Manager would not budge off list, no only unreasonable, rude and pompous. Would not even talk with us. He blurted out, well if you dont buy it someone else will, he then said I know 5 dealers that are selling these cars for $2000 over msrp. I dont think he or Honda realizes the state of the economy. A buyer in the hand is worth having all those cars sitting on their lot????

I received a settlement from a car that was totaled and wanted to pay cash for a new Honda Accord. I live in NY but got a supposed good deal with Honda Universe by phone. They couldnt tell me the exact price so I couldnt get a bank check. They assured me if my credit was good they would accept a personal check or they would actually deliver the car to me in Long Island as long as I came in to pick out the car and sign the paperwork. Once there, they told me I could finance the car and just pay it off when I got the bill and I wouldnt be charged any interest. Three different people there assured me I "would not be charged one cent in interest." I stupidly believed them and took the car home. A month later, I got my bill from Honda Financing, paid it in full, and was charged $156 in interest. Apparently, interest is charged from the day you sign the finance form. They knew very well Id be charged but lied to me to make the sale. But after some negotiation with their customer service, they have refunded my interest. So I am very happy about that.

I went to the dealership originally just to test drive the new cr-z. I test drove it and liked it but knew it was out of my price range. When Ed and I got back to the dealership he worked the numbers and it turned out to be out of my price range. Ed then looked around to see what cars I could afford. Turns out he found this cute little honda civic, brand new 2010 so we took that for a test drive and i loved it! Ed was very patient with me and followed all my guidlines that i had and did NOT try to pressure me into putting more money out or putting me in something I didnt like. Then when it came time for the loan approval, george (dont know his last name but he sits behind the desk with all the computers, i think in finance) he was able to get my rate VERY resonable and low. I was shocked!! and VERY happy!! I recommend this dealer to ANYONE who wants to buy a new or used honda!!

My wife and I were looking for a new or used vehicle if the price was right. We came in at closing time and Joe went the extra effort to help us find a car for the right price (a 2007 hybrid Honda Accord). He was very professional, helpful, friendly, and very courteous! His supervisor (Brian) was also very professional explaining the financial aspect and warranties. He too was very friendly, clear and concise and laid out all of our options. Lastly, while Joe was preparing the documents and before we needed to speak with Brian, we happened to speak with another salesman (Raoul) there since the dealership was now open over an hour longer because of us. Raoul was also very kind, courteous and professional. As it turned out, by the dealership staying open to cater to us, another family came in and while we were with Brian closing up our sale, Joe made another sale! That family overheard how friendly Joe was with us and knew they wanted to wait around and speak with him too. All in all, my wife and I felt we made friends as opposed to just a business deal! Yesterday was one of those days were a trip to several dealerships was like a bad visit to a dentist, then I came to Honda Universe quite by accident. I had gone to a nearby Chevy dealership to look at a small suv but while their price was not too bad, that old familiar sales pressure was there, as well as a very negative feeling that I got when they were reluctant to give me back the keys of my car (trade-in) until we had closure on the deal. Nevertheless I was almost ready to reluctantly buy when I noticed the Honda dealership sign literally across the road. So, I half heartily though one more place to try, then I'd go back and probably get the Chevy. Was I ever in for a surprise, the young woman who greeted me at the door of the Honda dealership was pleasant, low keyed and extremely knowledgeable about the vehicles that they sold. The entire staff from the manager, sales managers, service crew and of course my salesperson, Lexah, were more than helpful, they were all extraordinary. The truth of the matter was that I was made to feel like a beloved member of the family at Thanksgiving. And all of this came with a great deal. In all of may years of buying cars: Dodge, Ford, Chevy, Cadillac and Honda, this is perhaps the first time that I feel that not only did I get the best vehicle, but I got it for the very best price possible.

I was in a tough situation, I already had a brand new car in which I hated (was not a Honda). I was shopping online through the internet and came across Honda Universe. I submitted my information and within 3 minutes Alicia gave me a call. She listened to my situation and assured me that Honda Universe would do anything possible to get me out of the car I hated and into a new car. She was phenomenal. I did submit my information to other dealers but she is the one I felt most comfortable with. She took the time to answer all my questions unlike other dealers that I was working in. She is the reason I choose Honda Universe. I came into the showroom and was greeted and treated great. Ken was great; he was patient with me and helped make this deal happen. Everyone was so friendly. We even got the opportunity to meet the General Manager. Great dealership, awesome experience. I would recommend Honda Universe to anyone.

Bought a used Pontiac Vibe here for a good price. Sales staff are not too pushy and are willing to negotiate. The salesman let me check that everything in the car worked, without hovering over my every move, and offered to take my car back ~50 miles since I came in a rental (this actually requires 3 cars since I have to drive the rental back, he drives the car I bought, and someone else drives the car the salesman comes back in). Overall a positive experience.

I went into this dealership very doubtful because car searching was getting tiring and stressful, before I even walked into the door Sherry welcomed me in and seemed very excited to help me find what I needed. I explained to sherry that Ive been car searching and I felt that other dealerships were very pushy and rude. As we were talking Je'sus came over and got to understanding my situation and made me feel very comfortable. They worked very hard to get me a loan which was hard having no car history and the next day they called and said I have been approved and want me to come back to check out some cars. The nexy day the results weren't what I expected so Trevor gave me different options, finally they put me into a car that was in my price range and the payments that fit my budge and I drove home the same night with my new car, Honda Universe is very efficent, comfortable, and accomadating, I would recommend this dealership to everyone.

We called about a 2009 Kia we saw on the internet. We contacted them via email and got Michelle Anwar. She was extremely helpful and answered all our questions in a speedy and knowledgeable manner. When we went up to see the vehicle she introduced us to Ed, sorry didn't get his last name. He took us to test drive the vehicle and did the paperwork for us. Again, he was very nice. We than had to wait to have the financing approved and because of two vehicles we signed for, one for our son and one for our daughter, our credit score was very low because we found out they didn't pay on time as they should have. James Frederick helped us with that. It took him awhile to get us approved but he did and at the payment we wanted to stay at. We were very happy with the whole experience and I will gladly recommend them.

Totally enjoyed the experience we have had at honda universe. The staff is very professional as well as a lot of fun to be around!! They should be proud of how they run their business and we have be very pleased with how we were treated and still treated the same way after we purchased our honda pilot. They took care of us and we feel like family when we are there. We felt very welcomed everytime we were there and you can tell that they enjoy their jobs and like being there. We will be sure to tell others about them and how we were treated. Everyone I worked with was so friendly. I have been to the dealership in the past, but this was my best experience yet. I got a great deal, was treated amazing, and even sat with the general manager. The general manager was extremely friendly and polite. I have been to dozens of dealerships and never met or even seen the general manager. Definitely my best car buying experience!!!

Bought a '10 Demo Pilot with about 5600 miles on it. Had a couple of hiccups with the windshield and service light. The problems were taken care of without any charges being incurred and without any arguments from the dealership. The problem that I had was the downtime (2 days) and inconvenience caused by a "new" vehicle that cost over $30,000. After I had the problems resolved, I addressed the issues with Mr. Cubano, the General Manager. Mr. Cubano took the time to listen and care what I had to say. He provided me with 2 years of free oil changes for my troubles. A nice token for "minor" issues. I suggest if anyone has a problem with this dealership to see him as he was very professional and understanding.

We were to turn in our current lease for a new one and was given a great deal at non-honda dealership. However, we liked Honda and went to see if they would offer us the same deal. We went down to Honda Universe and was told that of course we would be offered same deal since this would be our 3rd Honda (2nd with Honda Universe). I also brought the offer in writting to Honda Universe. There was a dent on the side door and the other dealship said they would take care of any fees. Honda told us that it was not a problem since there is a $1500 credit for damage so we had "nothing to worry about"--"you won't owe anything." Two weeks later we get a bill in the mail from Honda Financial. Thinking it was an error, I called them and they said that Honda Universe gave us the inncorrect information. Called Honda Universe, they didn't understand why it wasn't applied (I had to explain the $1500 credit policy to them). Phone calls for 3 weeks (I had to keep calling, because they never returned my phone calls). Needless to say we are stuck with the bill. The new GM at Honda Universe said "it's not in writting so we don't have to do anything". He was nasty and EXTREMELY rude. Great way to treat a Honda Customer. We were lied to and now stuck with a bill we were promised we would not have. NEVER AGAIN will I buy a Honda or deal with Honda Universe. I could have been just as happy driving another SUV, without the bill. If you are going to purchase a Honda, stay away from Honda Universe and Bob Reyes!

10 years, 3rd Honda and counting....Honda Universe continues to impress me with their professionalism. Carlos (creisathondauniverse.com) is clearly passionate about Honda and truly believes in the product he sells. What is remarkable about Carlos is that he does not believe in the hard core sales approach. He is knowledgeable and genuine and was much more interested in listening to what I wanted in my new car vs. what he wanted to sell me. Carlos responded very quickly to my email and was more than willing to work around my busy schedule. He clearly cares about his customers and it shows. I cannot imagine buying a car anywhere else.

I hate buying cars but Nelson and Carlos made my experience painless and worked me out a great deal on a great Pilot. Went in to check out a car we've been eying. Eric was standing outside willing to help us immediately. Took us for a test drive then went back to talk numbers. He was very good in not pushing us away, and tried his hardest to give us the deal we were looking for. He brought over his manager Mike who finally after several tries got us the deal we were looking for. They really worked hard to get us the car we wanted for the price we wanted it for. They went above and beyond, and even stayed an hour and a half past closing to help us out. I just got back from getting the car serviced with a cleaning, and Eric immediately ran out to me to get the car done. He went to check on it every few minutes and had me out of there in no time. Highly recommend dealing with them and will absolutely deal with them again when the lease of our next car is up.

From the moment I walked in to Honda Universe, I was greeted with a warm welcome from Eric I. He was very friendly and informative and by no means a 'pushy' salesman! When I decided on the vehicle of choice, it was time for negotions. Carlos was the man!! He truly was a pleasure as well, followed by Bob and Trevor. I also received a phone recording from the sales manager for my business. It really is a happy family at Honda Universe in Lakewood, NJ!

This was the fourth dealership I went to looking to lease an accord coupe. I visited the dealership on a Saturday, when I received a price quote that I was happy with. I left a $1150 deposit on a vehicle that I was told MUST be picked up by the end of the following work week. I was told I would be called on Monday when the car I wanted arrived at the dealership. I called several times Monday and Tuesday to see if the car had arrived and never received any information from Nelson, my salesman. Wednesday evening I received a call stating that my SILVER car was located and that it'd be at the dealership Thursday. I was given a vin # and was told the car should arrive at the dealership Thursday morning. I was not contacted on Thursday and could not receive an answer from Nelson as to whether or not the car arrived. I asked to speak to a manager and was given to Carlos. He told me had not heard anything about me coming to pick up the car and he said the car had not yet been located. I told him I was given a vin # and he said that was impossible because the car was not found. I could not pick up the car Thursday evening as I planned because it was not there. Friday evening I received a call stating that my SILVER car had been found and I could pick it up. I was not able to do so until the following Monday. I called Carlos Monday morning to make sure he was aware of me coming to pick up the car. He gave me the correct vin # and the fax number to fax the insurance card to the dealership. He assured me that my SILVER car was ready and waiting and that he would be there when I arrived. I arrived at the dealership Monday night (after dropping my fiance off at the airport to be deployed to Iraq) only to find out the car was not silver. Nelson could not located my faxed insurance card and Carlos was nowhere to be found. I spent over two hours waiting for "finance." When I asked if I would be able to fill out a customer survey I stated that it would not be a good one. Nelson got up and went to the GM Greg who immediately told Nelson to REFUND me my deposit. Greg said he could not receive negative feedback about the dealership. I explained that I did not want a refund, seeing as I had already wasted over two hours waitng to sign the papers. Greg said I had no choice in the matter. We got into a heated discussion until Greg started yelling over the counter at me. I was handed a receipt for a refund in the amount of $1150 and then ignored. I asked for the folder of paperwork that had all of my personal information in it and was denied and laughed out. I walked out without a car. Never have I been treated so unprofessionally by a "manager." This was the most inefficient and disrespectful car experience I have ever had. Save yourself the time & energy and go somewhere else.

If you are looking for an out of this world car buying experience, then head on down to Honda Universe in Lakewood where you will be treated with respect, respect, and respect. First, their showroom is state of the art, quite roomy unlike the others we visited and you were greeted with personable people when you enter. Brian Lipman was our sales person and he was the most pleasant sales person you will encounter. He was very knowledgeable, patient and best of all was not your typical high pressure sales person trying to sell you A to Z. I think it is safe to say that the tires in their lot are the only ones with pressure. :-) When Brian could not find us the van we were looking for, Michael stepped in and explained to us that they will go above and beyond to get us the van we wanted - which they ultimately did - way to go Mike! Jerry finalized the sale and Eric Pastva went out of his way to personally deliver our van back in Edison. Damn you guys are awesome! Now my family could not be happier with our new purchase. And oh yeah, Positive feedback goes Alicia for the super fast introductory call and to their parts department who got me the part I needed very quickly and at the right price to boot. Lastly and more importantly, post sale experience has been very good as well. Grossly overestimated the work required on my car. Claimed I needed a water pump, timing belt, oil pan gasket, drive belts, radiator hoses, spark plugs, ignition wires and a few other assorted items. They misstated the service interval on the timing belt, saying it was 60,000 miles. The owners manual told me 105,000. Another competetent Honda dealer told me I needed NOTHING right now except an oil change.STAY AWAY FROM THESE BULLS#!+ ARTISTS !!!

I went online and was called quickly by Andrew who is one of the managers at the store. It made me feel good to have a manager contact me personally. He went over all my questions about the car and then when I came in made sure I had the gold treatment. Once I get there I was give a full demo of the car and explanation of all its features. I then was shown the entire dealership and even had a chance to meet the guys in service and parts. Once we got back to the showroom I expected the warm feeling I was having about this place to go away. Instead I told them where my budget was and they had me there with no hassle or games. Even the dealing with the finance guy was enjoyable and he gave me what I felt was truely honest advice. I will reccomend this dealership to everyone I know!

I have been doing my shopping going from dealer to dealer and was very surprised in how professional and courteous the employees at Honda Universe were. They were very knowledgeable and made my car shopping experience an enjoybale one which is rare these days. I got a great deal and will continue doing business with them for years to come.

Best treatment I have ever had. From start to finish Jerome listen to my needs and helped me find the right car that fit my family needs. Trevor the Finance guy was awsome helped me obtain my 1.9% rate even know my credit scores where lower then program tier. The best period.

My attempted purchase involved 4 trips to the dealership and empty promises. Every time I returned, the monthly payment increased. I am in the customer service business and would never treat customers they way I was treated. They jerked me around so much, I wound up walking out of the showroom and will NEVER go to any of Honda Universe's dealerships for a purchase again. I will also relay my bad experience to ALL my friends. I am a loyal Honda customer; this would have been my fourth Honda purchase but they just would not let that happen. Worst experience was with manager, Trevor. He should be fired!

We were shopping around for a lease on a new Honda Accord LX. We had previously gone to two Honda dealers in Central Jersey with hopes of getting a good price, especially the second dealer that was offering a $275 per month, $0 down offer on new LX Honda Accord Sedans. We went to this dealer and found that the 0 down refers to nothing out of your pocket except for the bank fees, inception fees, motor vehicle fees, etc. All in all, 0 down turned out to be about $1400 down.We called Honda Universe on a recommendation from a relative that had a great experience. We dealt with Manny on the phone; he quoted us a price that was what we were looking for. We dorve down, fully expecting to get hit with additional fees when we got there- nope. Nothing extra. We left extremely satisfied, Manny and EJ were great to work with.Overall, an excellent, no pressure experience, we would HIGHLY recommend visiting this dealer.

Hello, I had visited honda universe looking for a brand new pilot. The price that was given to me seemed fair, then the sales people changed their mines when it came time to sign the papers. They kept me waiting for 3 hours. then i found out that the loan rates were not what i was told, and then the price was jacked up. It was a waste of my time, all of this just to keep me their and try to get my sale. this dealership is very unprofessional and if I could give them all zeros I would have done that. giving them ones is high. Do not bother to go to this dealer, I will take my business elsewhere, maybe to another honda dealer maybe to toyota.

we went to this honda dealer and was quoted a price for the trade in and new car. when we called back the following day to say we were coming in to buy the car, we asked if the price was set, the sales person said yes of course. we brought the car to be traded in along with the title and had a check with us. the manager came over looked at the prices for an hour then the head manager of the whole dealership told us the "right" price. it was a difference of $6000 more than we were quoted. my husband responeded , "is this a bait and switch game?" the manager started screaming at us that this is not a contract and we should have taken the "deal" the day before. he made up a story. we would have been happy with an apology, for wasting our time. three other people told me this dealer was "shady" we were treated like dirt. the manager was acting like this was a used car dealership. We never experienced this before. we ended up buying our car from a very good dealership, dch honda.

From start to finish the customer service has been exceptional at this dealership. For an out-of-state buyer, trust is key, and Greg proved early on that he would be completely honest about the condition of the vehicle and all fees associated with the transaction. And in a true rarity in this day and age, the dealership would actually call me back...and quickly. I wasn't forced to chase them down for details.Bottom line: When I'm in the market for another vehicle, this dealership will be on my very short list of locations to shop at.
