Excellent overall purchase experience. The least stressful vehicle purchase ever! I saw the vehicle I wanted online, called to schedule appointment. Vehicle was as described online. Some minor issues uncovered during test drive were resolved by dealership. Overall excellent customer service. Highly recommend...

My 16 year old son was looking to buy his first used car and had been searching for months as he had a very specific list of criteria. When I told him he could start looking "out of the state" he found the perfect car listed at Horning Auto Sales located in Schenectady, NY. We are from MN. That's a long way to go for a car and it was totally worth it! Dave and Ann were both terrific and made the whole experience quite fantastic! We were able to conduct the entire car buying process via phone which went extremely well. I was able to arrange for the local BMW dealership to inspect the car before we purchased it and Dave took care of transporting it back and forth so I could get a full inspection done on the car by a third party. We were able to secure a fair price and Dave was super straight forward and reasonable. He provided lots of info. and perspective on the car which was very helpful. After agreeing on the purchase, my son and I flew to Albany NY to pick up the car. They even arranged for us to be picked up at the airport and driven straight to Horning Auto by a friendly competent driver who treated us to a pleasant ride in his convertible. Earlier that day Ann and team had secured the delivery plates from the DMV so we could drive the car back to MN. Ann even worked out details with our insurance company while we were flying so all the paperwork was ready when we arrived. Overall, it was a truly epic experience. My son got his dream car at a fair price and the process was enjoyable and stress free. We had a blast driving his new car back home. I highly recommend Horning Auto Sales!!

This is an excellent used auto sales place to purchase an auto the way they treat you and make your experience is number one. I told them the vehicle I was purchasing needed a new battery in it and they did it without any problems .If your looking for a trusting place to buy your next car this surely is number one.

I've owned over 30 vehicles in my life. New, used, foreign, and domestic. I purchased the cars through private sellers as well as dealers. But buying my last car from David and Ann Horning, was by far the VERY BEST car buying experience I have ever had. I drove to the Horning Auto from Ithaca NY - a three hour drive. They had a 2008 Scion that I wanted to look at. This was after spending about thirty minutes on the phone with David. It was apparent from the phone conversation that David knew used cars as well as the used car business very well indeed. Upon my arrival, David was busy, but Ann threw a set of Dealer Tags on the car and handed me the keys. No prescribed route. No salesman yammering away about what a great car I was driving. No one in the car but me. Ann told me to take the car for as long as I needed to get a feel for it. Upon returning from the test drive, I told David that I liked the car, but wanted to have an engine noise investigated, and that the car was missing floor mats. David had his mechanic check the noise (it was a water pump). David ordered the water pump and the OEM floor mats from Toyota. Not after market mats, OEM. The next day, the car was ready to go. As promised.While I was in their showroom, former customers were stopping by just to say hello. They weren't there to shop for cars, they were just driving by and popped in to visit with Ann and David. I mention this because I've never been in an auto dealership where past customers just stop by to say hi. Speaking with some of their past customers, I learned that they all had nothing but kind words for David and Ann.This is indeed a family run operation. The owners want to sell you a car, but they have a reputation to uphold and won't sell you a car that you won't be happy with. The physical building is nothing to write home about. Not fancy. But you don't need a showy building to buy a used car. Did I mention that there were no shenanigans when it came time for the paperwork? The price agreed on was what I paid. No hidden "dealer prep" "advertising" or ADP (Additional Dealer Profit) fees. Very refreshing.As to the car, I've had it for 6 months now. No problems. Couldn't be happier. Thank you Ann and David!

This was my first used vehicle purchase after leasing three new vehicles in a row. I couldn't be happier with my new to me used vehicle; and my decision to purchase it from Horning Auto Sales. Dave and Ann run a very honest car dealership. I had been looking for this specific vehicle for a while. I live in Syracuse NY and although its a trip, decided to go to Schenectady after talking to Ann and Dave. I found a great vehicle at a very good price. The process was painless and efficient. I have dealt with alot of dealerships over the years and they were a breath of fresh air. I am so glad I took that drive. This was my best car buying experience.

My family recently decided it was time to look for a replacement vehicle for our family SUV. We still believed an SUV was what we wanted and needed but with so many different makes and models, we needed help. We, of course, wanted to rely on an experienced and honest dealer to help us. Horning Auto Sales provided what we were in need of and much more. We listed what we thought we wanted in a replacement SUV and Dave and Ann searched for just the right vehicle for us and provided many choices with a wide variety of features to choose from. A few years ago I was looking for a Pathfinder.I saw one on their website.Checked it out and liked it, although the tires were iffy.No problem,Dave put on 4 new ones!!! Just this past September,went back to them as I needed a bigger vehicle.Came away with a gorgeous 2006 Sequioa.The reason I went back? Simple-Anne and Dave make you feel like a friend, not just a customer.There approach is not in your face.Family owned and run,there needs to be more people like them.I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a vehicle.

I am not a person who gives good reviews easily, in order for me to even bother to take time out of my busy day to go to a website and write one I need to be EXTREMELY satisfied. And this is exactly how I feel with Amy and Dave and Horning, many people advised me against buying a car in Schenectady due to horror stories about them, well let me tell you this was exactly the contrary. The modest establishment I walked into made me feel like not knowing what to expect, after being swarmed by shark car dealers trying to enslave me with 25% or higher interest rates made me wary of any dealer. Amy was super helpful and I received a call the next morning with what I feel like it was a sincere joy from Dave Horning the next morning giving me the good news that Amy was able to get me a loan almost 1/3 less APR than any of the other ruthless dealers. I literally drove the vehicle off. Amy took care of plates, registration, etc. Quick anecdote, I had a rental car when I went to pick up the car, and before dropping off the rental I just remembered I had used all my cash for the down payment, and I had no way to fill up the rental car's gas before returning it, Dave took $20 out of the cash I gave them and said "don't worry about it"... I haven't forgotten Dave ive just been busy! lol Thank you guys both for the experience and I wish you both the best of luck with your business. Live long and prosper!!

After test driving several vehicles at larger dealerships I was really disgusted by the lack of car knowledge and pushy sales techniques. I went to Horning and asked Ann and David to think about their inventory and my needs and see if we could find a good fit. When I test drove the car David suggested (which I would never have thought of on my own) I knew I had found the perfect vehicle for me! Ann and David are great to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone. I love my car and the price I paid for it.

This is my first dealer bought car. Going into the whole journey I was not excited to deal with the usual car salesmen that I witnessed when my parents have bought cars in the past. Walking in to this dealership I was prepared to be bombarded and pressured. This visit was the complete opposite of what I expected. As we walked into the dealership Ann was sitting in her desk ready to help with anything that we needed. We asked if we could test drive a certain car and she was happy to help us. We test drove the car with no problem at all. After the test drive we realized that car was perfect. Trying to keep a stone face we walked in and made an offer. The offer was lower than the asking price and they didn't even argue with us. They didn't haggle at all it was great. Dave was amazing and the best used car dealer I have ever dealt with. If I am ever in the market for a used car again I would come back to Horning every time! If I could give them 10 stars I would!

These guys are great when it comes to customer service...Davis, Ann, David Jr. and Ann's Dad are very blessed and humble people to do business with...I bought a beautiful and sharp looking 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS from them and my brother in law bought a 2011 Subaru Impreza the very same week as well...They have clean cars and will do their best to make you happy...so if u are in the market for a used vehicle go see them...I highly recommend them...

What a great experience in buying a car. Very relax, no pressure, fair trade in, good prices on their cars, and they work with you. None of that "what's it going to take to get you in this car" that you get at a dealer I can't say enough about them; stand up people. Recently, I was in need of a new car because my old car wouldn't get me very far. As a senior of advancing age, I asked my son to give me some direction. "I have just the dealer you should speak with" was his suggestion, Horning Auto Sales was his advice. They are honest and won't lead you astray. You'll find a car that meets your needs and you'll be on your way. Ann listened to what I wanted and said, "I have just what you need." I drove off the lot feeling happy indeed! I didn't feel pushed-I was given time to think. I say to you-stop by and see the service you are given. You'll be happy-you'll say "I'm glad to be livin!"

I had been having repeated issues with my car, necessitating multiple trips to my mechanic without resolution of the underlying issue. Although I did not purchase my car from Horning Auto Sales, Ann and David graciously offered to have my car looked at by their mechanic, Jimmy. I am so grateful for this, and for Jimmy! He took the time to do research and investigation as to why my car was having this specific issue, and came up with a solution that completely resolved it! I am happy (and relieved) to say that my car has been running wonderfully since! I am thankful to Ann, David, and Jimmy for their great care of me and my car!

From the initial contact through the whole buying process, Horning Auto Sales could not have been more accommodating and professional. They were genuinely interested in providing me the vehicle I was looking at, and went above and beyond in their efforts to make time for me to work out the financing with my bank. Coming from 30 miles northwest of Philadelphia, PA, we tried several dates to complete the transaction. Ann, David Sr., and David Jr. we're extremely patient and considerate as conflicts forced me to cancel the first two dates we had set. I wish I lived near to them so I could refer my friends and family to their dealership. Excellent people running an excellent business!

I asked my sales associate to locate a particular type of car and was very specific about my choice and the condition of it. She located exactly what I wanted. The vehicle was inspected, serviced and delivered on time as promised. It was detailed perfectly and she took care of all DMV paperwork for me. I arrived at the dealer at scheduled time. But the car was getting detailed. So it was a waiting process. Then after that I drove to a inspection station for inspection. Out side these two delays,I found the girl that handled all the paper work to be on the ball. The car was as described but I missed looking at the wheels. They were not in the shape as the rest of the car. I have since replaced them. Hope people can use this report in buying from Horning Auto Sales. Give them a try,I did.

Although the car is six years old, the exterior and interior are like brand new. The car rides solid and I expect to have many years of dependable use. Let's not overlook the fact that the price was amazing. I truly enjoyed the business relationship that was established with Ann, David Senior and David Junior. What a great family business. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone in search of a used vehicle.

I've used Horning Auto to purchase two cars. I've been so satisfied that not only will I always use them in the future, but I'm constantly referring them to my friends. Their knowledgeable staff approach the sales process from a relaxed, up-front perspective. I've found Dave and his staff to be completely trustworthy over the years, which is my number one priority when it comes to sales. Dave's customer service is also way above average. When I purchased my first car he delivered the car and paperwork to my office since I couldn't make it to him. I've taken both cars back to him for minor follow-up repairs, and Dave's staff was great about taking care of us quickly and inexpensively. I have several other friends who buy from Horning Auto as well, and we'll keep using them for all our future auto purchases.
