We bought a Lexus RX300 with a little over 200,000 miles for our 16 year old. Two months in, the transmission is shot. I called and spoke to our salesman, and while he was very nice, there wasn't really anything he could or would do. Ultimately, making the decision to purchase a car with such high mileage was risky, and a decision we made - however, we were under the impression the car had been inspected bumper to bumper, which was evidently not the case. We were told the car was priced accordingly with the market, at a premium - due to lack of used cars on the market. Considering we paid that premium, I was hoping they'd be willing to help us out, but that was not the case. Our experience was pleasant, but I think it's important to let prospective buyers know that once the car is yours, they don't take responsibility for what very likely was a pre-existing condition with the car.
