I test drove a CX-5 and loved it. I was torn between the two blue colors that are offered. Yes. I am a woman. Color matters to me. I went home with the Blue Reflex Mica with black leather interior. I brought the car back 2 days later to get accessories added and saw the Deep Crystal Blue Mica with Parchment leather interior. I fell in love with it. When my husband came up later that day to pick up the car, he remarked about the Deep Crystal Blue Mica and said," This isn't the other color blue we were looking at, is it? It's beautiful!" At this point I was devastated! I sheepishly asked our salesperson, Nikki, if there was any way we could swap cars. She did not look at me like I was crazy. She simply said, " I'll go ask my manager." Well, long story short, They let me me do a straight exchange! I was floored! And they were so kind about it. Independence Mazda has me for life now!

My wife and I were walk-ins/no appointment. We were initially met by Tommy Anderson who greeted us and showed us a couple of models on the lot but apologized that he had to hand us off to a colleague due to a previous appointment. Mark Williams then helped us with looking at the different trim levels, features, and availability of the 2016 CX5 and test drives. Mark was very helpful. No pressuredidnt rush usvery knowledgeable of the product, Mazda history, and the dealership. Once we got to talking numbers and trade, Mark was very patient and again no pressure about us making a decision. They actually fed us lunch while we were there! We met the sales manager - Angelo Libman as we got closer to the bottom line number; againno pressure...just trying to get to an agreeable trade and purchase price. A little back/forth and the deal was done. We feel like we got a very nice vehicle, at a fair price, and fair value for our trade-in. Mark then introduced us to several of the financial folks (General Washington what a hoot that guy is! As well as Joe Williams). Also met the service manager Bill Shepard. All very nice and genuine people at first meeting. Seemed truly concerned about our satisfaction and future relationship with their organization. This dealership is a smaller, less up-to-date one (we understand there are some updates coming) but if the CX5 turns out to be anything like the people we met on Saturdayhands-down the best and easiest new car purchase in quite some time. We look forward to enjoying our first new Mazda in almost 25 years. So far, we love it. Drives greatno comparison to the Honda HRV we were looking at. Well worth the extra $$. Time will tell on performance, reliability, and overall satisfaction. Hope itll be a long lasting, great relationship with the car and the dealership.

My first review didn't get posted. So hear goes it again. My experience with independence mazda was unlike any other dealers that I've ever dealt with. Let me begin with Mike my salesman.,right away I liked him. I believe being a salesman you need to be liked. Some people try to fake being nice. This guy didn't have to try it came naturally. He has a personality that is uncommon at car dealerships. There was no pressure bot sell me the car.Mike didn't give me any false promises. He also knows mazda . The other dealers didn't know all the answers. Mike on the other hand,knew his product. Feeling comfortable is important to me and definitely left the building feeling that way. I give the highest rating possible to independence mazda. Also when I need service on my miata I can without hesitation knowing where to bring it. What else can I say had a really great experience. My 2004 Mazda 3 was totaled in an accident and I needed to find a replacement car ASAP. I spent several days looking for used vehicles located within 500 miles of Columbia, SC, and I had some disturbing experiences. I now have a great deal of empathy for people who can't afford to spend a lot of money on a car. Their options are limited. Independence Mazda was one of the last places on my list. I had almost given up for the day when I stopped there. I was delighted when I saw the condition of the car, which was exactly as advertised. The car was beautiful, everything worked, the CarFax report was clean, and the price was extremely reasonable. I bought the car on the spot. My friend and I knew what a great deal the car was because we had spent the day looking at my other options. David Sparling was the salesman. He did not apply any pressure on me to buy the car. I think he could see how rattled I was by the wreck so he went out of his way to help me navigate some pitfalls, like getting my SC tag transferred, contacting my insurance company, etc. I'll always have fond memories of David and the folks at Independence Mada--they were there for me when I really needed them, unlike some of the sales people at other lots who attempted to take advantage of a single woman who wasn't thinking as clearly as she normally would. Don't be like me. Save yourself a lot of time and heartache and go to Independence Mazda first!

After a long day of driving, looking, and searching for a car (and with one terrible experience at Keffer Mazda)....my son and I arrived at Independence Mazda and found the car he was looking for. Nick (the salesman) was "old school"...he was laid back and made the experience about us. Eric (the sales manager) was right on task and worked hard at the things we asked for help with on the vehicle. Mark (finance) tried everything in his power to get us within the parameters of where we needed to be with payments and got us an incredible rate. Mike (another salesman) wasn't even involved with the sale and assisted us in a number of ways....the staff was friendly, accommodating, and didn't mind dealing with a "somewhat" educated consumer. Looks like they are really putting their best foot forward in this new buyout from Montgomery Mazda.
