Very happy with my purchase at J&M dealership. Salesperson I dealt with was Ray Demers which was very nice and helpful. Just purchased a 2010 Chevy Hhr which I love and happy with. This dealership is very friendly and everyone makes you feel very comfortable and works with you to get you a great car that you can afford. Honestly i came to J&M because it was the closest reputable dealership and my previous car wouldn't be able to make it much further. My family was sold a used car here. Within 20 miles of the dealership, multiple faults became apparent and things started breaking down. It's a shame that despite persistent and constant contact with the dealership since, they are unresponsive, unhelpful...pretty much uncaring. 'Sold as seen' seems to be their catchphrase.What should have been a positive experience turned out to be a $17,500 disappointment within minutes. It's going to cost us a lot to fix mistakes inherited from this used car lot.I would personally advise being really careful when buying from Brad Baumhor specifically or this dealer in general if our experience is anything to go by. Don't buy.I'm happy to provide evidence of communication or lack of.

Ray,the sales person that worked with us, was very attentive to our needs. There was no "salesman pressure". He let us explore the car we were interested in and then when we needed him to assist us, he was right there on the spot! He was very informative answered each and every question. Very helpful as this auto was purchased by a person that lives in the UK and the USA. Very easy to work with and the whole purchasing/pick-up of vehicle was effortless and very smooth. It's an impressive dealership with a huge inventory.Our salesman, Mike Matos, was very welcoming, polite, professional and knowledgeable about the vehicle we were interested in without being the least bit pushy. We took our time with the test drive with Mike pointing out a few issues that he noticed in addition to answering all our many questions. I have purchased many cars over the years (twice from J & M) and they never leave me disappointed. I hadon't been to another local, well-known dealership and was treated like a number, like I didn't even exist. I walked into J & M and was greeted with a friendly smile and hello. Although it still has to go to a VW dealership to get fixed they did all the legwork for me. Still very happy and content with my first car buying experience!

My dream car was a Mercedes. I visited J & M Automotive. As soon as I opened the door I was greeted by Seth Brown. Whom I have to say was the nicest, most pleasant salesperson to deal with. He answered ALL of my questions with no hesitation. He pulled the Mercedes up, and we went for a ride. Within 15 minutes I knew I was sold on this car. He made sure that he stayed in contact with me from the day I left the deposit until the day I picked up the car. The vehicle was fully detailed and there was plenty of gas in the car. Seth's main concerned was to make sure that I was happy. I met him next door where I did the financing and was greeted by a very nice receptionist and the rest of the staff. Steve in finance was great. He explained everything to me and said if I ever had any questions to please let him know. Seth put my plates on the car when the paperwork was done. He went over the car and into the clouds I went. If you are looking to purchase a pre-owned car. THERE IS NO BETTER PLACE TO GO THEN J& M AUTOMOTIVE. The reputation is amazing and I could see why. Once I came home my son looked over the entire car and couldn't believe the price I got the car for and how clean it was for 10 years old. Make sure when you go to J & M you ask for Seth. He will be with you from start to finish...

I went to J &M after I saw a car (Infiniti G35) online that I wanted to test drive. I test drove the vehicle, liked it and placed a deposit on it. I intended to trade in my car and left a small deposit. Initially the salesperson Seth was friendly and willing to work with me in terms of financing. I told them that I intended to use my own credit union to finance said vehicle. Everything was fine. or so i thought.The first problem was with the amount they would offer for my car. They were only willing to offer $100 for my car. Ok, my car is old (16 years) and a little beat but I know it's worth more than $ 100. They didn't even bother to drive or even look in at it outside of where I parked it. Seth's excuse was that the car was too old and they couldn't sell it. I took a look at the blue book value for the car and found that the value for it was worth much more they wouldn't budge at all. not even another $100Problem #2 when my credit union runs the number for the car they were only willing to offer me less than the offering price. Not a lot, a few hundred dollars. Again when i asked Seth about the price his attitude was that they were selling it at cost. Right. By now his attitude has changed. He was a lot more curt and straight to the point. It was either take it or leave it. It was as if they were angry with me for not paying their price. They could have easily helped themselves by either lowering the price a bit or offering more for my trade, they did neither.Meanwhile I found another newer car that was for sale there for the same price which I probably would've gotten the full financing for. Seth i guess ready to move on to the next buyer offers to send me back my deposit with out even asking if there was any other vehicles i was interested in. When i brought up the other newer vehicle he then says, Oh really. Do you want that one? At that point i gave up on Seth and J&M . I shouldn't have to sell myself a car. They or perhaps Seth was too concerned with getting the fattest commission he could on an overpriced. Overall i was disappointing at how inflexible J&M were and how quickly that were willing to write me off as a customer. BTW I found a newer car at another dealership. They offered me over 5times the amount for my trade what J&M offered and guess what they were flexible.The lesson J&M . Don't be like the dog who see's his reflection in the water and loses his bone because of his greed.

We needed to buy an inexpensive reliable and safe car for our kids to use. We had been to three dealers before we came to J & M. There was no comparison. All the staff were inviting, helpful and a pleasure to work with, but in my opinion, Ray Demers was friendly and solicitous, like all excellent salespeople. Where Ray really stood out was that he quickly anticipated our personal automotive needs and priorities and took us to the best selections based upon those needs and our desires. We had our car picked out inside two hours - thanks to Ray's professional and nuanced salesmanship. I arrived at the office and met Seth. We sat down. And within about 10 minutes I was test driving the vehicle I ended up buying. Seth beat my credit union's finance rate and I drove home in the vehicle that I'd have described to you if you had asked me what my dream car was....Seth picked me up for the delivery and even drove BACK to my house to pick up my registration to transfer my plates as I left it in my old car. My experience with Steve and the rest of their staff was great when I went to J and M on a recommendation from a sales person from a local dealership in my town. I was looking for a used car with low mileage that fit my personal references. After explaining to sales person what I was looking for, he told me that what I wanted wasn't going to be found easily at a new car dealership. To my surprise he then reffered me to the J and M website, since that ment he would be losing a buyer to another dealer. I was immediately impressed by the invintory they had in stock. They have something for everyone with cars in very many price ranges. Even though I was happy with what I saw I still didn't want to limit myself to the first place I came across. I continued to search all kinds of used car sites and went to different dealership which turned out to be a huge waste of time. Most of them didn't have what I was looking for at a fair price and a few places which I won't name were extremely rude. When I went to J and M I was immediately excited to see that the cars on the lot matched all the photos I had reviewed. I was able to browes around the lot without being hasseled before I went inside. I feel lucky to have had Steve M come and ask if I needed any help. He listened to my requests and then we narrowed it down to a couple of cars. He was very patient with me, answering every question that I had, which were quite a lot. Having knowledge about cars after attending school for automotive tech, I was very impressed with the condition of the cars that I got to test drive. The first car I drove brought out the young kid in me and was very fun to drive It would have definitely been an impulse purchace lol. After driving the VW GTI I was very happy on its performance, Steve helped me make the right discision for what I wanted. Again, I can't stress on how good their customer service was. When we were ready to finish the paper work it was very hassel free. Because they knew how excited I was to get in and drive. Even their driver Anna was very friendly. They understand how to make you feel like family when you are there and I'm happy to be a new member of the J and M family.

Just purchased a "new to me" 2011 Subaru Legacy from Ray at J&M Auto. Amazing place for used vehicles. I'd never heard of or dealt with them before, but i can tell you i CERTAINLY will if I ever need to again. They're my "go to" guys. The experience was easy and seamless. Went in on a Sunday near closing time (sorry Ray), and Ray was kind enough to take the time to help me way past the 2 PM mark, without making me feel ruched in any way. I felt very taken care of with J&M, and they offer a f%*$#^& fantastic aftermarket warranty....CHEAP! ask about it. I got covered for and additional 4 yrs/60K for a nominal addition charge on my monthly payment. And even though "legally" they weren't able to tell me it was a bumper to bumper policy, I could see for myself it was pretty damned near close..HIGHLY recommend Ray and his colleagues at J&M for your next used vehiclke purchase.

Overall, I was pleased with my experience at J&M. I walked in knowing which vehicle I wanted to purchase, having browsed a lot of online listings and looked at an almost identical vehicle at another dealership. I am very happy with the vehicle I purchased and think I got a great deal, so I would definitely recommend J&M.Our salesman was Ray Demers, who was very helpful in explaining that J&M's vehicles come straight from the auction, so they haven't yet undergone a safety service check. That can take 3-5 days, so don't expect to take the vehicle home the same day you walk on the lot. For us, that process took 3 business days, and they did a great job of making a few necessary repairs. During that time, Ray also asked me to email him the new insurance cards and photos of my trade-in's title, driver's license, etc., so the trade-in, sale, and registration paperwork was all ready for us to sign when we arrived to pick up the carno hassle there.Less than 48 hours after I picked up the vehicle, I was driving down the highway and a small panel flew off the body of the car. I immediately emailed Ray with some photos, and he very quickly wrote back to say that Eric in the service department would order the part right away. When it arrived, they offered to mail it to me or install it themselves. I was very impressed with this level of customer service.Two caveats:The first is really a matter of common sensealways make sure to do the math and check your paperwork carefully, no matter which dealer you go to. I walked in with an online quote that included $498 in dealer fees, and that total amount was initially entered as the basis of the base price, so I was essentially charged the dealer fees twice. Once I pointed this out to Ray, he quickly corrected it. I paid $300 when I negotiated the sale and then brought in a cashier's check for the balance when I picked up the vehicle. There was a discrepancy between the balance Ray had told me in my first visit and what the paperwork said at pickup, so my cashier's check wasn't enough to cover it. Karen looked over the paperwork and realized that a $200 VIN etch had been added in, a service I had never accepted or even been offered. She redid the paperwork and the rest went smoothly. I didn't get the sense that there was anything dishonest about these mistakes, and they were quickly resolved, but $700 isn't nothing and with such a large purchase it's worth taking a few minutes to really check your paperwork.The second is that while I was at the dealership I observed two separate male salesmen calling two separate female receptionists by names ("sweetie" and "my love") that at least are unprofessional and at worst may constitute sexual harassment. I have no way to know how prevalent these kinds of comments and attitudes are at J&M, so I leave it to you to draw your own conclusions and decide whether to factor this in to your decision to visit the dealership.

I've had very good experience at J&M , I've stopped at a few dealerships beforehand, and was at the point where I was losing my enthusiasm , because I haven't found a vehicle I was satisfied with! That changed when I pulled into J&M's lot! I saw the vehicle I liked immediately! Sue was kind and very welcoming to my wife and I ! She let me basically inspect the vehicle, look under the hood , start it up , test drive etc. she explained that the Vehicle just Arrived and if I like it now, wait till they service the vehicle! And boy she was correct! I eventually I chose that car for sure being the finicky buyer I am! And when picked up the car I noticed new brake drums & pads, new windshield, new run flat tires, the front spoiler had some small damage that was repaired, and the interior was beautiful!! I was very impressed! I was also happy with there customer service and the over all comfortable environment they provide! And Sue is just Wonderful, I have already recommended them to a few friends! best dealership I've been too!!!!!!

I was very stressed and inexperienced when it comes to buying a car. This past purchase at J&M and the help of Steve Magura made everything a seamless process from finding the car I wanted, and the whole process of purchasing, to driving away a few days later. Right off the bat I asked him if he would mind running communications/questions through not only me but my father who was helping me make the purchase and he did without question. I had an issue with my registration and Steve diligently checked multiple times a day to see if the issue had been resolved. I showed up with financing already, however they offered to run my credit check anyways at other banks/lenders to get me a better deal on my insurance rate in the end. I was very impressed with how much care was given to not only me (the customer) but also to the car and my schedule. Everything was ready when they said it would be and I was able to show up right as the doors opened today and left shortly after keys in hand. This was by far the best car-buying experience we've had. Ray was our salesman and was honest and knowledgable. I shopped around quite a bit and J&M had by far the best prices. We had never been to J&M before - their selection is huge with 2 large lots full of quality cars to chose from. We test drove several cars and we couldn't believe how clean they all were. Our salesman, Ray Demers, was excellent. Really couldn't ask for more from him. He was patient, knowledgeable, and straight-forward. Ray was really one the Best salesmen I've dealt with and with my history that's a lot. Most either come on to strong, some seem disinterested. Ray was great he was confident and friendly. He made it extremely simple for my father and I to choose a car, test drive the car and ensured that all our requirements were met. When we came back a few days later to test drive the car a second time, it had been detailed and all issues we asked to be addressed had been solved. Ray ensured that I was kept up to date in the entire process, texting me and letting me know what was going on and giving me an honest time frame each day. We visited j&m on a Sunday to view a 2012 Honda Pilot we had found online, so we went in with a specific car in mind. Only 2 salesmen were in that building so we waited about a half hour then test drove the car with Paul. We were offered a reasonable amount for the car we traded in, and the car sold to us was priced about $1000 under Kelley blue book value, which was great. On this same day, We were told we could pick up the car Wednesday or Thursday, and to contact the insurance company. On Monday when I called to check in, we were told Wednesday would be the pickup day so I contacted the insurance company on Tuesday, when I called j&m to let them know the insurance was all set for tomorrow, I was told they were not sure when it would be ready and to cancel the insurance. On Wednesday, the day of supposed pick up, we were told maybe Saturday it would be ready. Finally on Friday I got a call the car was ready for Saturday morning pickup. I called the insurance and got it ready, then Friday evening I was called saying there was a problem with the car and it would not be ready and they would look into it. The car was repaired Monday morning and we were finally able to pick it up Monday evening. J&m gave us a free one year warranty in case an issue popped up with the engine they fixed. The only other concern with the car was that the previous owner had hit something with the front tire and the rim was messed up and gouged the tire, we had mentioned this concern the first day and were assured the car would go through safety testing before purchase and anything unsafe would be repaired, the tire was the same when we picked up the car, again they assured us that it is safe to drive and that if there was a problem with it, it would be covered under the warranty. During this lengthy process I had spoken to Danielle several times and she was very helpful and informative. Financing was easy through Steve and we used our preferred lender, SCFU.The pick up process wasn't very smooth, I just wish we were given a more reliable estimated pickup date to avoid the 5+ phone calls changing our insurance policy back and forth.In the end, we got a great car for a great price, that we hope will not have future problems, but were given a free 1 year warranty.

I found the whole car buying process at J&M to be rather seamless. There was a slight issue with the tires when I went to pick up my car, but they were quick to resolve the issue to guarantee I was completely satisfied before leaving the lot. I sent out various inquires to various dealers in the area via internet and this dealership was the only one who was quick to respond. We filled out a credit application online at 9:00pm and we were approved the next morning by 10:30am. We received a response email back from sales in an hr which was 10:00pm. I found myself needing a vehicle in a very short amount of time after having totaled my everyday driver. I was met by Paul in the parking lot and explained my situation to him. I spent 2 months going from car search site to car search site looking for an exact model of suv. When J&M popped up on a larger site because they had a '11 Chevy traverse ltz, again I want you to know I literally searched from coast to coast for the right one, priced right. After sitting on it because of a past experience with a dealer much closer to me I decided to call J&M and see if it was still in there large inventory. After reading other reviews from customers I decided I wanted to do business with Sue Janelli, best decision I've made in a long time. I called and found they still had it, I put a deposit on it so no one would buy it, my family and I took the 1.5hr drive the next day. We arrived to a VERY busy dealership, not realizing they had two lots Sue and our test drive was at the other one just up the street. We got there and there it was right out front waiting like she said it would be. After a stress free test drive and nice honest conversation with Sue we got back and addressed minor issues we had with the car, she got them taken care of immediately. We asked if we could take it home same day, she checked on it once again immediately and after a check in the shop she said no problem. So now came the numbers, honestly this was the busiest dealership I've ever been to, we waited to get to Ken Nelson because of the amount of people buying cars. A stress free visit in his office, an extended warranty and 20 signatures later, and of course a call to the insurance company we were leaving with our new (used) car! I honestly went here because of the reviews I read on there site, and they weren't all good so that's why I trusted them. Everything I read was true, stress free, family environment, lots of selection, no B.S.! Sue was great and I'd recommend her to anyone, the dealership renewed my faith in car buying. A word to the wise if you see a car you like don't wait, the other two I had picked out online were already sold when we got there. Thanks Sue and Ken for the great experience and our great SUV!

Going into trying to find a newer car is always kind of nerve racking especially a used car when used car dealers don't exactly have the best rep and you never know exactly what you're going to get. I looked online and saw a few cars at j&m that i liked so i figured I'd check them out. I walked in and was promptly greeted but the front desk girl and within minutes i was speaking to a sales associate. Vinny really took the time to figure out what i was looking for and within my budget. I drove 1 car and then the car i ended up buying. He didn't push me into anything or try to get me in a car that was more expensive just to make a buck. He really made sure i was getting in to a car a really liked. The whe process was fast and painless, i was driving my new car the next day. Steve in finance really made sure to explain everything and all my payment options. I would definitely recommend j&m to everyone and i would definitely go back to purchase another vehicle. Also, I wanna say the cars they have are probably the cleanest used cars I've seen.

I had my ideal car in mind, and searched for weeks on Cars.com. Finally, it came up. Pre-2011 Blue Grand Touring Mazda CX-9... I go to the dealer who shall not be named, and instant disappointment. I despair that I will never find it again. One week later, another pops up! Another Grand Touring Mazda CX-9 in blue! And it's under 100k miles! I don't get too excited, because of my disappointment with the first dealer. Quick Service. Called up Louis to set up test drives on numerous vehicles. He had them ready and set for me to drive one after the other. After the test drives he gave me numbers for payment and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Painless and right to the point. My wife and I were looking for a used Honda Ridgeline. Not an easy task! After much searching and researching, we found several in central Ct.(btw... We live east of the river, in Ellington). So we made plans to test drive all three a few weeks back. Number one was not a great vehicle... We passed. Went to J&M next, we were greeted in a friendly manner and assisted by Vinny Petta. Went for a nice test drive. Vehicle performed well with no problems. Vinny, having previous experience with Honda vehicles, was very informative and answered all our questions. Long story short, the third Ridgeline was not as nice, so back to J&M we went. Worked out the details with no problems, and picked it up the following Saturday. The only issue was the CD player required repair and did not return on time for delivery. This was through no fault of J&M ( so far as I can tell). We returned this past weekend and it was reinstalled and we were on our way in less than an hour. We really couldn't be more pleased with the whole process. Thanks Vinny. And thanks J&M!

I had narrowed my search down to two different 2006 Subaru Impreza's, one being from a Subaru dealership. I had an excellent experience with J and M. I bought a used car for my son. I am not from Naugutuck, but I found out from people who lived in the area they have a very good reputation. One person told me she bought her own child's car there. The salesman himself printed out the Carfax report. The car had 70K miles. The price was fair(it was "no haggle" which I did not know). I commented when I drove it, it needed new brakes. When I got the car inspected prior to purchase, the mechanic told me that now brakes were new and they put on new tires as well(not exactly Pirelli's but new nonetheless) They also fixed everything recommended by the mechanic. They also hooked me up with a very good used car loan rate. My experience there was the opposite of what one classically thinks dealing with used car salesmen.

I was basically broke and i was able to leave in a 2012 chevy cruze for almost nothing down. They helped through the whole process and was very patient as i got my financial issue situated. Over all great people, great service, highly recommendable.

Helped the brother-in-law look for a safe, reliable used SUV for his daughter. Our search brought us to J&M to look at a late model Hyundai Santa Fe. During the test drive a few things were notice. One that it needed new tires as they made a loud humming. Second was a clanking in the front end which I attributed to sway bar end links. The salesman promised all matching new tires (AWD) and to fix the racket in the front end. My bil made the deal and was happy. Two weeks later when the SUV was ready, I noticed different tires, but they were not new, but used ones. I pointed this out because this is not what he was promised. Being that he's not one to put up a fuss, not sure what he did. I will however point out they tried to pull a fast one on him. I hope they addressed the end links too, I have yet to drive it.

I'll try to keep this short. They over price cars with mileage that's up there. Bigger dealerships have way better prices for the quality your getting and longevity of the car. The salesmen lie in order to make sales on said crappy vehicles. It's a fake and hostile environment. They don't care about there customers only the money. I wrote a terrible review showing my unhappiness with everything j&m did to me. They got so upset and refuses to fix my car even after buying an absurd amount of a warranty that covers nothing. I bet VW is going to give me trouble accepting I'll get back to you. The worst part is the service department guy lost his temper with me and hung up on me twice. While I was just trying to grasp why they were doing this. No I'm not satisfied with anything about J&M. Please think again.

I have been looking for a quality used car for about a month. Every place I went to tried to sell me cars that they said they have not gone over yet. How can you sell something that you haven't inspected? When I pointed out some concerns I had, I was told those noises were normal for that car. Really! I went into J & M with 3 cars to look at. The selection of quality cars there is enormous. I test drove the cars I came to see and ended up purchasing one. The salesroom was beautiful and checked out. Everyone who worked there was helpful, pleasant, sincere and there to make the entire process very easy. I didn't feel pressured at all. I felt like i got a fair deal, the financing was done in 20 minutes. I would tell anyone looking for a quality used car at a fair price and honest people to go here. You won't be disappointed!

The inventory was not only vast in quantity but the quality was there as well. They made the financing easy and even though registering was out of state everything went well. After an accident, I needed to replace my wagon with a similar make and model and found 2 listed in Naugatuck. I bought the one at J & M because of the overall quality of the dealership. Vinny Petta was quick, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. The man who arranged the financing was equally good to work with. I bought a used car with high mileage, but it runs great and was totally clean when I picked it up. The coffee machine is quite nice too.

I purchased a Nissan Altima last year. I travel 1 hr. To the dealer. The salesman was great however the TPS light for the tire pressure was on when we test the car. I was told it was going to be repair, that it was something minor. After I pick up the car I had to go back two times (1hr each way) because the light keeps coming on. They were able to turn the light off until the warranty run out. One year later the light still on. The dealer wants to charge me to program the system so the TPS light will stay off. If you but a car, make sure you check everything and if something isn't right don't bother buying that car.

I recently went to this dealership, I actually shopped here about 5 years ago when i was looking for a used car i like the inventory back then. so i returned again hoping to find another car for myself, overall i can say that the facility and the inventory was great. although i was disappointed when i looked at a car that had some issue with a sensor and some exterior issues. with that said it was nothing that i wasnt expecting but for the price they wanted it was to much. they have a policy that they do not negotiate any lower then represented. the cost to replace the parts that need to be done would average about another 1500-2000 dollars on top of the price. also i gave the salesman an idea of what i was willing to pay for a car in hopes that he would know of other cars on the lot that may suite me better. i only was shown one car and drove a good distance to see the one car and to find out when i get home there was other cars that i would have been willing to see and possibly purchased. Although i was a little discourage by the fact the salesman is low pressure to the point that he was only going to show one car; the dealership is a good place for used cars and i am actually still planning going back out to shop there again. I'd recommend the dealership to others but would advise you to do your own research and go with a list of cars to look at so you don't drive out to be shown only one car.

Bought 3 autos in last 4 years from J&M Auto. The 2004 Nissan Frontier was in a major accident previously and J&M did not let us know. My son had what should have been a fender bender but will now cost me 2000.00 extra dollars in damage repair to repair what was damged not not fixed correctly previously. The Radiator support was not repaired but banged out. This is suppose to be replaced by law. It is shimmed. The roof was torn off and a new one was welded on. The hood looks like it flipped over the roof at one time and tore the metal casing. This vehicle was a mess but damage was well hidden. I talked to the dealer and they refuse to help and still say they knew nothing about the accident even though I gave them the insurance company that had the accident info. Beware J&M does not negotiate price but it seems like they should have negotiated some type of customer service. I have sent many people to them and was planning on buying a CRV in3 eeks from them. That will all change.

They have a lot of cars to choose from but they are not in tip top shape. I guess with that many its hard to fine tune all of them. The owner runs around at car auctions buying anything he sees so be careful and he pays a lot hence you will pay a lot. Definitely shop around !!

I recently bought my new/used 2007, BMW 328xi from J&M Automotive and I couldn't be happier. I waited a long time to purchase a car of this caliber and I was not disappointed. From the very first day when my wife and I walked into the dealership, we were treated with kindness, professionalism and respect. There was no pressure to buy; just excellent customer service from our sales person, Bruce, and from the no pressure financial details to acquire the vehicle from Steve. We were treated as if we were friends and had known each other for years. Even the receptionist offered us coffee and Kyle, their web information specialist and mechanics who walked by greeted us with kind words and smiles. The day that my wife and I picked up the car, Bruce and Steve had everything already for us; including the new plates so we wouldn't have to go to DMV! They asked for my contact information just in case another AWD Safari came available.That same Safari became available later that day and they called me. Even though I was located 170 miles away in Philadelphia, PA . They had the integrity to keep their word and call me next even though after my phone call they had interested parties locally. I don't even know where to begin....I was very leery as I have been to many used dealerships who said I was approved and then on arrival they would ask for more $$ down etc....but I was looking for a specific car with low mileage and they had it. Kyle was key for getting me in that door! He reassured me that he had an approval for me and answered every one of my questions in a manner that impressed me (I don't impress easy)! Kyle is the icing on the cake because when I walked in that dealership I felt like I was with family! Dave DeCarlo, my salesman was just awesome, not pushy at all and laughed at all my jokes! Kudos.. The finance guys were just shocking to me I was expecting fast talking wheelers and dealers but instead I felt like I was making a deal with a good friend/family member. I had some issues with DMV from 10 yrs ago and it was a mess....every employee that was able to help get it straightened so we could register the car did so, even the owners mom!!! I recently bought 2 cars here and my experience was fantastic! I first made contact via the internet with Kyle who was extremely helpful and patient with my questions. I then worked with Bruce whom was a delightful fellow and went over both cars in great detail with me. We worked on the numbers and we reached an agreement that was mutually acceptable. Then I was off to see Ken the finance wizard who put everything together, explained all my options and warranties available in explicit detail. I should also mention that Bruce and I agreed on a few details with each car that I wanted either repaired, replaced or at least looked into, this is important, they never hesitated, everything was made right no questions asked, no fight no argument. This is the way every Car dealer should operate! I would recommend them to anyone and I most certainly will be back for my next vehicle! Hats off to J&M! This was my 8th car buying experience. I tend to do a lot of internet shopping to find a reasonably priced car with a fair price and pay in cash (6 of 8 cars have been purchased outright). J and M Automotive has an abundance of vehicles and a good internet presence. I contacted them via email through cars.com and was happy with their quick response. I planned to pay cash for the vehicle, and to drive 2.5 hours away to get the car from them after a quick look at the car to verify that it had all of the things that I saw on the internet. I called in the morning prior to my departure to make sure that the vehicle was still in their inventory. They said it was. I asked if they'd be willing to hold it. They said that they did not hold cars. I asked if they'd hold it with a deposit from me, feeling fairly confident that it was the car I wanted (after having shopped extensively on the internet to verify that decision). The representative told me that he'd hold the keys in his office and give me a call if someone else was interested. Upon arrival at the dealership after 2.5 hours of driving with a wife and four kids in the car (a circumstance that I had described to their representative in the aforementioned paragraph), he acted surprised that I'd arrived so quickly despite the face that I'd arrived almost exactly when I said I would. I also asked them (prior to arrival via email) if they would accept a personal check. They would not. I asked for a reference to a local bank that would be able to take a check and give me the cashier's check that they required. The bank that I was referred to, was not willing to take a check. I had actually planned to finance the car with the dealership and pay it off completely at the first monthly payment if I needed to, or to see if they would allow me to pay with a debit card, but it didn't get to that point. He looked for the keys on his desk, and could not locate them. He then discovered that they were in one of his associate's offices. Apparently, one of the other sales reps had shown the vehicle to another customer who was buying the car. In fairness, they told me that they would not hold the vehicle and I'm sure that they have had people say they'd be right over who did not arrive. Also, they were generally kind agents who I believe were generally remorseful of the situation. They do not offer to make second keys if they do not have two. They do not offer to provide, or pay for, car mats if the vehicle didn't have them. They offer a half tank of gas upon purchasing one of their vehicles. Their facility is nice. Their waiting area is nice. Of note: I went to Watertown Honda (15 minutes from J and M) who was advertising a similar vehicle for a slightly higher price which had previously been my second choice. They held the vehicle for an hour and a half while my family ate pizza nearby prior to arrival. Interestingly, we were seated one booth over from the person who had purchased the vehicle that I drove 2.5 hours to buy. In addition to holding the vehicle for me, they: Provide a second key if they don't already have one. Provide car mats if needed. Accept personal checks. Have an equally nice waiting room. Have similarly large selection. And sold me a really nice car. After it was all said and done, I feel that I was blessed to have had a car not held for me by J and M Automotive.

Trust is a funny thing. Some individuals give it openly, while others are more hesitant to dole it out. I (regretably) happen to be a person that trusts others freely and gives them the benefit of the doubt. To my own demise, I gave J&M Automotive more trust than they have proven to deserve. I purchased my 2002 Mini Cooper from the company in April or May. That gave me about a 7 month window of time to enjoy the fruits of my labor. After spending around ten thousand dollars on what seemed to be a quality car, I was soon shown otherwise. On the drive home, the airbag light lit up. I soon brought the car back within the 30 day warranty period. They assured me the issue was fixed, so I drove home. Not even half way to my destination, the light turned back on. J&M did not fix the problem. At two hours each direction, I found it silly to bother with another warranty trip. That light is still on, the system disengaged, and my life is endangered daily because of these people that "claim" to fix cars. That is not even the beginning. About one month later, the front tires were worn to the wire and had to be replaced. The car alignment was so far off that the service provided laughed. The technician did not even want to touch the car. He told me that the control arm bushings were discovered to be worn almost to the point of nonexistence. I paid hundreds of dollars and went on my way. One month after that, the power steering in the vehicle completely halted. It is nearly impossible to drive the car now. The cherry on top of it all came yesterday. During a routine drive home, the spark plug in the second cylinder blew out, causing all threads to be lost. I am now faced with the task of having the head removed and replaced. This bill will be about $3,000 at a repair shop. Now, in just over half of a year, function of the air bags has become nonexistent, the power steering system has 100% failed, the tires were worn to the wire due to an extreme misalignment not corrected or addressed before sale, and my engine is useless. Paying ten thousand dollars for a Mini Cooper in excellent condition is a perfectly acceptable concept. Paying ten thousand dollars for a piece of horse xxxx that is falling apart at the seams is a tad absurd. I am extremely dissatisfied with this company and all that it stands for. I have been scammed and taken advantage of and I hope that others will realize how horrible your company is as well as the product you sell. Only a dealership of brainless employees would instal aftermarket spark plugs into this type of vehicle. I am not told that the threads slowly loosen, destroying others around them, until the plug blows out, leaving nothing behind. Good job J&M. You sure know how to sell a quality product. Keep up the excellent work.

I had a great car buying experience here. There were a couple bumps along the road. The first day we went to look at a car, we got there at 5:30pm (they close at 6) and there was only one sales person left! Everyone else left at 5! We had a great experience with Brad who stayed late on multiple occasions to help us find the perfect car and get our payments down as low as possible. The only other issue was when my car battery died 3 days after buying the car! They did offer to fix it but it wasn't worth the drive out there for us, they are reimbursing us for the cost of the battery they would have paid (only half of what I paid). Overall I would definitely reccomend this dealership, and ask for Brad!

Some of these reviews haven't put into consideration that this is a USED CAR DEALERSHIP. As soon as you walk in, they have complimentary coffee, a nice lounge, and private offices to personally talk to your dealer. My mother and I came here to purchase a car. Although this car dealership may not have the CHEAPEST deals, it still has quality service and professional attitude. I'm seventeen and heading off for college soon so we purchased a practical 2010 Honda Civic with only 20,000 miles. We took it for a test drive and the engine sounded amazing. Unlike other car dealerships, these people give you the carfax for the vin number right there on the spot. If you're looking to pay $3000 for a car, don't go here. Don't waste your time because J&M has good quality used cars. You can't expect to buy a cheap, great quality, low milage, and new car from almost ...well anywhere really. Even though these prices may not be as low, they're still a bargain. Please DO NOT go to A Better Way Wholesale. They charge $800 for service fee, but they do absolutely nothing! My mom bought a hybrid there, and they said they checked everything but there was a huge crack in the window when we took it home. Compared to other used car dealerships, this place is actually really nice.

Bought a 2005 Kia sedan 14 months ago for 6k and finance it for 5 years. Hoping this car will at least give me 3-4 good years. Fast forward a year later, transmission problem and the JM guys told "its a used car you bought", thanks for that reassuring word. I am stuck with this crap car and still have 4 years to pay. I don't recommend buying a used car from this dealership. If buying a car from this dealership, have some with you that knows about car or a mechanic. Don't take their word and that freaking sticker they pun on the windshield. Stay away!!!!

I thought that they were very professional from the beginning. I already knew what car I wanted, so there was no selling involved. I just took the 2005 Acura TL for a test drive, and when I returned, the salesman asked what I thought. I proceeded to sit down with him to get the paper work started after checking over the car. It was not too long before I was on my way. When I came back to pick up the car, everything was ready for me. I just had to sign some papers. The car looked new, and was in perfect condition. The dealership was outstanding. Great furniture, and showroom. They even had a rock wall on the side. Very clean and welcoming.

Bought a car from them (Toyota MR2) the car didn't even make the drive home. They did patch job repairs so it would run for 30 days to make it out of warranty. The car was burning a quart of oil every 200 miles, would never buy here again even if the prices seem good. BUYER BEWARE.

I emailed to find out why they wont give a free Carfax report like most other dealerships and they said because we're free to go buy one ourselves. I asked about one of the cars and how the preview from Carfax said it had dozens of records and the guy said obviously it wasn't the car I was looking for and asked if it was worth typing all that. I recommend going anywhere else. They obviously have something to hide and don't care about selling cars.

Drove about 10 miles to see 2 specific cars. Once there, I realized one of the cars was on one lot and the other on the main lot. SO MANY CARS! They had a huge selection, most with reasonable sticker prices. Had absolutely no problem getting one the the cars for a test drive and the other just getting inside. Very nice, casual atmosphere in the upscale lobby. Didn't buy a car, but will consider them for the future
