Had been looking for a clean SUV for almost 2 months. Planned on buying from private owner. Started to look at dealers and then went on cars.com site. Saw a 2008 Mariner on Jim Douglas dealership website. Of course I checked out the reviews which were all great! Their dealership was only 20 minutes away from me so me and my husband drove out there after speaking to Adam on the phone to ask a few questions about the car first. Got there and the car was as described. Beautiful! My husband took it for a test drive, looked over every inch of the car. We wanted a few minor things done to the car, which Adam was more than happy to do for us. The car is now sitting proudly in our driveway. Adam and his dad are incredibly nice. They are the opposite of what dealerships are usually known to be. We are now looking for a car for our daughter and my husband has Adam on the hunt. DO NOT hesitate to buy from there!!

My wife and I were looking to buy an 07 Buick Rendevous with 3rd row seat for a second home. I searched the internet, found one at Jim Douglas Auto Sales, and sent an online inquiry. The next morning, we found a response from Adam and made an appointment. With 88,000 miles, the car looked new. Beautiful condition and the test drive validated this was an exceptional vehicle. My wife negotiated the deal and we picked the car up at a the appointed time. Everything was as promised and on time. We are very satisfied and will definitely check out Jim Douglas next time we are looking for a vehicle.

ALL I CAN SAY IS WONDERFUL!!! We bought an Envoy 2 yrs. ago from Jim Douglas Auto Sales and had such GREAT SERVICE that they are the only ones who came to mind when we needed to get my daughter another vehicle when she graduated. We were there several times looking at cars and test driving them and they were nothing but HONEST with us about everything and they were very patient with my daughter and all the questions she asked. I have previously bought several cars from jdas (in the 80's and 90's) and had excellent experience each time. My nephew came to me asking about trading his Durango in for another car. I recommended jdas, but I wanted to make sure it was as good now as before. Sounds by the reviews nothing has changed. Just as good as it was years ago as it is now. Glad to see somethings never change. Would highly recommend to anyone to make your first stop here. You won't go anywhere else!!!

I purchased my vehicle from Jim Douglas Auto Sales 5 months ago and it's still running great, no issues after putting 10,000 miles on it. Jim Douglas Sales is a family business (at least 2 generations that I could see from my visit). Looking at the stock on their lot as well as my purchase, they make a good faith effort to only offer quality used cars and give an honest disclosure about the car's history. When I first looked at the vehicle I purchased, I noticed an issue with removing the ignition key (sticking). They were expeditious in repairing the issue (diagnosing and replacing a switch in the automatic trans gear select). Noting the tires didn't have a lot of mileage left, they gave me a $200 break on what was already a very reasonable price. They conduct their business like they want to be there for the long-run. After spending the previous day looking at cars for sale by owner, only to be disappointed, I was very pleased to do business at Jim Douglas Auto. Adam and his father were polite, helpful and didn't pressure me to make a sale. When I found a car I was interested in, Adam encouraged me to take it for a test drive. He also shared the Carfax with me and took time to answer all of my questions. We negotiated a fair price and I was really happy that he could help me take care of all the paperwork, from proof of insurance to all the secretary of state requirements so that I could take possession of my new "used" car that same day. I've had the car for almost a month and enjoy driving it every day.

Not only did I sell my vehicle to Art and Adam, I decided to purchase my next car from them as well!!! I had decided to sell my 2008 Dodge ram 1500 to them because they offered me a fair cash up front price with no hassle. I needed a new car that had better gas mileage than my truck of course, so I went shopping with my new check in hand. After driving as far a Dearborn to view cars with misleading ads I finally came right back to where I sold my Truck! Not only do they care about the cars they sell their ads for the cars are legit!!! I took a big chance and basically bought a 2005 Cadillac SRX over the phone based on the dealers ad and the carfax report. I was extremely anxious during the 5 hour drive from Indianapolis to Pontiac. But as soon as I pulled into the lot, the car was clean and ready for a test drive.. And the car was everything advertised and more! Adam was an excellent host as soon as I arrived, pulling the car up and asking if I needed some direction since I wasn't from the area. Adam was also very willing to negotiate price. After test driving the vehicle, they pulled it into the garage to allow me to get a better look at the car. The only immediate issue I noticed were that the rear brake rotors and pads needed replaced sooner than later (a repair I did the next day) and Adam negotiated the price to cover the cost of rotors with no hassle. I absolutely will be contacting Adam later this year to buy another vehicle.. Definitely worth the drive!!!

We purchased our Honda Odyssey a couple of months ago. When my wife and I asked our mechanic about which place I should go to purchase a used vehicle, without hesitation he recommended Jim Douglass. At first, I was a little hesitant and skeptical. My auto mechanic said any vehicles that he has worked on from people who have purchased from Jim Douglass, mechanically, speaking have always been in good working condition. So, we decided to investigate ( after all, mechanics have their dealerships they recommend and dealerships have their mechanics they recommend). When we arrived, we asked about the car we were interested in buying. We were able to take it to our mechanic and get it inspected, get all the car fax info we wanted about it and were able to negotiate a reasonable price. The gentlemen were not trying to hide anything and weren't shady in their business dealings. I was pleased with their honesty displayed and was pretty impressed with how impeccable the cars were for being a used car lot. Thank you for your help and good information. Thank you for your integrity!

THE LAST 2 CARS I BOUGHT THEIR, I CALLED AND TOLD THEM WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR AND WITHIN 1 WEEK THEY CALLED BACK AND HAD 1 FOR ME TO LOOK AT. THEIR PRICE IS ALWAYS FAIR. I went there to purchase a used vehicle. Once they negotiated the price with my financing source and submitted the purchase order to her, the payment was still a bit high for my budget. My wife and I, at this point scraped together a small amount of cash to move the payment into my budget. Once they knew that we came up with the cash THEY RAISED THE PRICE OF THE VEHICLE. Their reasoning was "If you can come up with cash we can raise the price". "We were at our bottom line when you were not putting cash down". We deserve to make a profit". WOW! That's exactly why Used Car Salesman have a bad reputation. They earn it. Sorry Adam. What you did was wrong. That's not how you retain customers.

I decided on a car late in the day after driving around to many car lots, so things were a bit rushed to conclude the sale & get back to work the next day. My banker (staying late to process my loan) said Adam was one of the most helpful dealers she had spoken to. I called ahead to tell Adam that I was on my way from the bank and he also stayed a bit late so I could take the car home that night.

This is the 4th vehicle our family has purchased from Jim Douglas Auto Sales. In fact, I live in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and have still gone downstate to JDAS which is a good 4 1/2 to 5 hours away. When you can trust someone it is worth the drive.

Our experience buying a used vehicle from Jim Douglas Auto Sales was fantastic. From start to finish the salesmen went above the call of duty to make sure that we did not feel pressured and worked with us to make sure we were satisfied with the vehicle we purchased. This was my first time buying from an actual dealership and everything went great! Called on a specific vehicle, by the time I had gotten there after a two and a half hour drive they had everything ready for me. Definitely worth the trip! I worked with Adam during the multiple test drives and buying process over 4 days. Adam was really nice and easy to do business with. No pressure and he wanted to make sure I was satisfied with the purchase. I have sold Art Douglas several cars over the years. This is the first car I have ever purchased from them. Art asked what I was going to drive when I sold him my vehicle. I told him what I was looking to purchase. He had the vehicle I wanted, but his wife was driving it. Within 3 hours he had it on location and we made a deal at a very fair price. Family owned business that appreciates your business. Adam offered a great price on a great car. I have already put 3000 miles on my car within the first month and it is great. These guys know how to buy cars so you get a quality car. When I picked up the car everything was ready and delivery was quick. When I drove off I noticed they added a half a tank of gas from when I test drove it. I expected the first thing I would have to do was head to the gas station and at $4 a gallon it was a nice little extra surprise. Thanks guys! R. Martin

When looking for a good used car we came across the kind of vehicle we were looking for online at Jim Douglas Auto Sales. We drove down to see the vehicle from Lapeer. We talked to Adam Douglas and he was friendly and did not push. We decided the next day we wanted the vehicle and called and asked if it was still there. Everything went very smooth from then on. I was at my last rope in locating a dealer that actually cared about selling a used car to me untill I found Art and Adam at Jim Douglas Auto Sales. They were not pushy into selling me something I couldn't afford. They were professional and courteous in meeting my needs for a vehicle. I saw the car I wanted and I took it for a test drive and within minutes I knew it was the car for me. The car a 2003 Chevy Impala was mint inside and out. It did have high mileage but it was a one owner car and was taken care of. I would definitely recommend Jim Douglas Auto Sales to anyone looking for a solid used car. I will be buying future cars from them. I give them 10 out of 10 stars. The purchase process was flawless, was able to call my insurance from there and get everything done in 1 visit. Mr. Art Douglas and his son, Adam made the shopping experience very easy and efficient. My family and I were able to test dri e the vehicle, the contract terms were very negotiable, and overall great customer service. I know with purchasing any used vehicle, there may be some unforeseen repairs, but JMAS was willing to do the repairs at a reasonable rate; especially considering I just purchased the car. Purchasing a used vehicle can be tricky, but the father and son team at Jim Douglas were wonderful! They were very helpful and personable. They worked with us with holding the vehicle and even went the extra mile with some repairs to the vehicle before we took it off the lot. Even some that we hadn't noticed! They were very honest and fair and I would highly recommend anyone searching for a quality used vechicle to check here first!

This father and son couple was very personable. They were very attentive to our needs. Their customer service was GREAT! I would buy another car from them for sure.

This is second time I had an experience purchasing a vehicle with Jim Douglas auto sales. Both times they were very friendly, efficient, and I must say kid friendly, seeing I had my grandkids with me, they gave my grandson a couple matchbox cars. They have very clean cars and I would purchase from them again.
