Had my power steering die on my Escape, so I went in to have it diagnosed. They charged $350 for the diagnostics alone and the fix was going to be anywhere from $1500 to $5000 more, so I decided to look for a new car. I looked at cars similar to the Escape, including the newest model of the Escape. The salesman at Ford, Chris Jr.(who is also the son of the manager, by the way), was cordial and friendly while we were there, but we ultimately went with a Honda. A few days later he called to see if we'd be interested in coming in to talk about pricing on a new Escape, so I told him we went with a Honda. He said nothing for about ten seconds, and then said "Oh really?" and hung up on me. That's pretty representative of their customer service. They just want to get your money through pushy tactics, not earn your business through good and fair service. The service center was insanely expensive. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because John at the service center was completely honest and responsive to my questions. Otherwise you're better off avoiding this place.

Second and last time bringing our vehicle for service to JH. After scheduling an appointment on their "convenient" online scheduler, including a detail list of issues and service request the car was dropped off on Friday before 9AM. When I dropped it off, 2 gentleman came out and greeted me, told me my "rep" was with another customer, took my name and number and my list. Later that afternoon, I called and waited on hold for almost 15 minutes to finally talk to my rep, Tony. He was not even aware my car was there as it was entered under the fleet company. Needless to say the car was not ready. Tony called the next morning explained that my car would be ready a little later. After 2 on Saturday, I go to get my car and well, we have to order a part. It is now Saturday close to 4PM and the car was returned with some of the issues resolved. We have to reschedule to come back (Not here) to get the rest of the services completed. One of the last and simplest request was to get the vehicle washed and cleaned which JH failed to accomplished. Tony, our service rep. was extremely apologetic and as helpful as he could be, but there seemed to be a lack of communication between the online system and the service reps. I am very busy and it seemed like I had to remember the "list" several times and repeat it. Only to leave with the main purpose (my 50K service) not completed. I have noticed the lack of survey after the service, but perhaps that would increase the attention to detail.Misc: $14.16Parts: $24.98Tax: $2.74LABOR: $166.43TIME WASTED: Priceless!"Experience it TWICE and you will definitely NEVER FORGET IT"

A really great experience. I submitted an online inquiry and Jason Seaberg, the internet sales manager immediately got in touch with me. He understood we were burned out on the car buying process and made things extremely easy. He knew about rebates long before other Ford dealerships in the area did.When we got to the dealership I let him know we were interested in two cars. He had them already pulled up for us and went through the differences in each. With the prices already worked out ahead of time it saved us on negotiating and we were able to get finished up as quickly as possible at a car dealership.We'll go back to Jim Hudson Ford when we need another car for sure.

Walked into the dealership. Approached the sales area and met up with Jackson, Sales Representative. Went thru the model (Edge) and features.Please note that I was thoroughly knowledgeable of the options available.Explained my trade-in. Jackson went to work on the pricing and trade-in value. In 15 minutes they asked a few questions and we agreed on the deal.From start to finish, 40 minutes and the deal was done. no hassle--no bait and switch--no lets see if we can do better. Straight forward-fair and honest. Best price of 3 other Ford dealerships.Picked up the car the next afternoon. Explained all the technology. Never rushed. I have purchased new cars for over 40 yrs and never had a better experience. Jackson was terrific. The dealership is the ABSOLUTE BEST Ihave ever dealt with. The service department was a huge disappoint, the service person Elizabeth that was suppose to b helping me failed at doing her job correctly! I dropped my car off Thursday 18th, she said 2 days, she failed to give me accurate information when it was going to b done, she didn't return my calls until I called her twice on Monday 22nd that's when she said it might b done sometime this week! I currently have a job need a car to get there but who cares, right! I don't recommend the service person Elizabeth or this dealership to no one it's been a lot of headache!!

I had a bad experience with the service department the person that was suppose to be helping me(Elizabeth) she did not return my calls or explain anything to me, when I did call her about my car she got a very bad attitude with me because she failed to do her job n explain to me about how long they were going to keep my car,I turned it n Thursday 18th to get it fixed she said 2 days!! People that can't work with the public like her needs to b doing a different career, I do not recommend this service person or dealership to anyone I still haven't gonen my car back yet it might b sometime this week very disappointed I will not return to this dealership for anything more less buy another ford.

I took my 650 in for three problems. A vibration at 60 - 65 . A noise from the front suspension . The turning signals stop working . The first time I took it to them they had it for 4 weeks. The service manger would not answer the phone or call and give me updates. Finally he called me and told me the mechanic had26 hrs labor and I owed them 3000.00. They had not fixed any thing and said that was to find the problem. He said that my tires was out of round. They could not find a problem with the turning signals or the suspension . I picked my truck up from them and went straight to the tire store and had 4 tires put on it. It did not fix the problem!! So I called ford and got a case open to see if they could help. I had to take it back to jim hudson because they are the only certified truck store in Columbia . I was told they was going to get right on it by the ford rep and they had a plan of action for the repairs. Needless to say the service manger called me back and said they would need it a additional 2 weeks or longer for repairs and they had no plan of action. At this point I am so up set I called Jim Hudson him self . He was the most unfriendly man I have ever talk to! He told me if I did not like it take my truck some where else. Jim Hudson commercial say "that you want ever for get the experience "!!!!!!! That is so so true I will never buy a ford again or recommend Jim Hudson . So thank you Jim Hudson for showing me how little you do care about your customer!!! P.S. Congrats ford I just canceled my order for 2 new 650 . So ford you can thank Jim Hudson for losing you 220,000.00 dollar sell!!!!!!!

I had my 650 truck in the for 6 weeks to fix 3 things. The turning signals , a noise in the front end, and a vibration between 60-65. After 4 weeks they told me it was the rear tires for the vibration . So I called ford and got a case open on my truck. I called mr hudson to report the problems I had with his service dept. He told me if I did not like the way I was being treated to take my truck to another dealer. What customer service Mr Hudson. Your commercial is so so true "I will never forget my experience with dealing with you and your ford dealership"!!!!!! It is so sad that you treat customers this way. With this experience I will never by another ford product again . Thanks to Mr Hudson!!!!!

I was on a budget and looking for a used car. I went into the dealership wanting to test drive a used car I had seen online. Matt was extremely helpful. I have a 2005 mustang GT that had an Idle problem.Took it to dealer and was informed PCM and throttle body were bad.They said a new one was not available(PCM) and they would have the old one re-built.Waited over 2 wks for PCM. Installed PCM and Throttle body.The idle was better but the reverse lights came on and the cruise would not work.Never had that problem before.Took it back the same day.I was told the problem was a smart junction box (another $500.00)They changed the box but the problem with reverse lights and inoperative cruise was still there.Over a week went by and I called for status and was informed PCM was bad again.This is a PCM that had just been rebuilt by "Car Care"After almost 2 mos of down time they propose to send PCM back (again) for repairs.I really don't know who/what to believe.If the PCM was bad a second time then why the smart junction box?To say I am disapointed is an understatement.

Since moving back to the Columbia area a year and a half ago, we've had both of our pickups serviced by Ford at the Jim Hudson Lexington location. We had no intentions on trading at this particular date & time, but upon meeting and visiting with Jake while waiting for an oil change, we test drove the new Ford Explorer. Jake recommended the Explorer after our visit where we stated that IF we were to consider a trade, the new vehicle would have to be equal (or better) in the quality of the "RIDE" in comparison to our 2010 F-150. Jake was correct with his evaluation/recommendation of the new Explorer. The ride is as described/desired; the two extra seats are an added benefit; the cargo space is more than adequate for our needs; the towing capability will be fantastic; and what really sold us on trading are all the up-graded SAFETY features on the newer vehicle. Thanks Jake!!

I then dealt with the used car manager, Jesse and the new car manager, Randy. Both of the managers did not call me back when they said they would. I found Randy to be extremely hard to get a hold of on the phone, and when I showed up person to talk to him, he had no clue who I was, or what he was trying to find for me. I told him in person that I was appalled by the customer service, and it still has not improved. I even left a message for the general manager, Joe, and still have not heard back from him. Not only was the communication extremely lacking, but during the week I gave them to work on finding me a car, they managed to run my credit 14 times!!!

He either answered or went and got someone who could answer question(s) for me. I made numerous visits before I bought the truck and each time he greeted me with professionlism one would appreciate. I worked with David Silvey to get into a low mileage used van or SUV. David went over a above the usual standard and found me a great low mileage van, great color (for a guy), all the bells and whistles and a great price. He also had to work with me long distance from Irmo as my time is very limited. He brought the van over to my work at lunch, let me test drive it. I took my wife over to the dealership one evening to look at it (and a couple of other vehicles while we were there) and I pretty much decided on the van. I then worked with the finance guy over the phone... the next day David delivered the van to me. Fantastic experience. If you would like a low pressure, good deal on some nice vehicles... call David. He is TOP NOTCH!

My experience was amazing, from my first phone call, through the sale, and even after the sale. David and Ernesto truly cared about ensuring that our needs were met. They never pressured us into a sale, and patiently assisted us in finding the right vehicle. This process took over 3 days, and they even let us take a vehicle home for the evening. In past I would purchase a new vehicle annually from Dick Smith in Lugoff, but they shut down. I never thought I would find a dealership that could meet my needs as well as they did. After my experience with Jim Hudson Ford and Mr. Silvey, I found those expectations were not only met, but exceeded! I called David Silvey, advised him of what I wanted in a vehicle and it was like he read my mind. He picked out the perfect vehicle and I was sold. Mr. Silvey advised me of all the items I needed to bring and the financing was smooth. There were no surprises. The price, terms and payment were dead on what I was looking for and they didn't change once I was in the finance office. I was treated with respect and honesty. I have told many people about my POSITIVE experience with Jim Hudson Ford and their team members. We will be purchasing another car with in the next 6 months and there is only one place in South Carolina for my business, and that is David Silvey at Jim Hudson Ford. I was looking for a Chevy Trailblazer for my step-son. Jim Hudson had just posted one. I emailed them and was immediately contacted about it. I went over to check out the vehicle. Matt McKnight was the sales preson I dealt with. He was very courtious. We took the vehicle out for a test drive and had a very good time. We found one problem but he sataed that they would get it fixed before it hit the road again. It was a very enjoyable experience. My step-son decided to buy another vehicle I had went to look at before though. I have always had good experiences with the Jim Hudson family. I have bought 2 vehicles prior to this time. I will go back to them when it time to buy again.

My husband and I visited Jim Hudson Ford in Lexington looking for a quality used car for my daughter when we was approached by Jackson. Jackson kept us in mind and called a few days later saying he may have the perfect car for our daughter. Me an my daughter went back to dealership to look at the vehicle Jackson had found. Searching online for a used car to meet our needs, we went to the lexington dealership. They had the car transferred to us from another store.After test driving the car we decided to purchase.after purchase we had a couple issues with the vehicle and even though the purchase was AS IS. They took care of everything for us and fixed everything. When I made the decision to visit Jim Hudson Ford it was because of an excellent experience I had with this dealership on Greystone Blvd. 15 years ago. My situation was much different this time. JR Honeycutt was an excellent sales representative of this company. He listened to my needs and went right to work trying to make it happen with honesty and integrity. I am not a Ford person, but I felt the character of the people behind the name Jim Hudson would be honest, dependable and trustworthy. I chose a used vehicle (GM product). The treatment I received from all the staff including Jeff Joseph and Jason Crapps showed they wanted to provide the perfect client experience. In the future, I will not look anywhere else when shoping for a vehicle. Kudos to this team!

Wife went to dealership to get service work while I was temporarily out-of-town. She knows nothing about cars & authorized the repair. Was charged a ridiculous labor charge on a very quick repair. Feel like they totally took advantage of her lack of knowledge. I own two Fords, live 3 miles away & will never return.

I deeply regretted trading in my 2006 GT on a Ford Escape last year, so I decided to start shopping around. I found a killer deal here on a 2012 V6 that both out-performs my old GT AND gets better fuel economy, not that anyone should buy a mustang for the gas mileage! It was thousands less than anywhere else I could find a similarly equipped V6. So my payments went up $30, but I hardly had to put anything down at all. Jackson Nettles is the man! I'll definitely be coming back in a few years for a GT.

Great experience. I have bought 7 cars from a dealer (this was the first used car I have ever bought and didnt expect very much from 'used car people') and have never had what I would call a good experience. I always leave feeling like I just fought someone. Not at Jim Hudson. Jake was very professional and a pleasure to work with. Jeff (cant remember his last name) in the Finance office also worked hard to make sure that the payments were in my comfort zone. Overall it was a truly great experience and Jake went well above and beyond to make the experience not only memorable, but repeatable. I will be calling him when I need another car.

My purchase at Jim Hudson was my 1st purchase of a car ever. I was very excited and ended up purchasing a 2006 Ford Escape from them in May 2011. Within the first 2 weeks of my purchase my vehicle began stalling out whenever I would stop. I took it in the shop and they had it for hours and then finally called saying there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. I had to pick the car up since it is my only transportation hoping the problem would not happen again. Well, it did. I took it to their service center multiple times and they would keep my car for days and then tell me there was nothing wrong. I told them it might be the idle valve (after talking to a friend) and so they just fixed it. The issue was still ongoing and after taking it in for service one time after the "fix" and them keeping it for almost a week and doing NOTHING I gave up. I just dealt with the issue of my car cutting off at stop lights and stops signs and then hoping my car would not cut off one time and a car hit me. Well, 2 weeks ago the problem began getting even worse. After the car would cut off and I tried to shift into drive or reverse it would just cut right off again. I would have to put the car in nuetral and slam on the brake and drive for it to start up. My father contacted Jim Hudson and they told us to come in and they would talk to us. Well, the day I went to speak with them my transmission failed. How convenient. I was stranded on the side of the interstate for almost 2 hours. We were hoping Jim Hudson would help us and work something out. Maybe fix the car, since they didn't from the beginning, and they sold me a lemon. Or let me trade the car in for another one. But they did NOTHING! Do not buy a vehicle from this dealer because they will sell you lemons and then say sorry you bought it, figure it out on your own. I have no idea what I am going to do now, but I will never buy a Ford or car from this dealer again. I am terrified to purchase any vehicle again. Thank you for the terrible experience Jim Hudson.

purchased mercedes clk. had to have car towed twice in first two wks of ownership. changed batt. twice. could not diagnose problem. dlrship did not stand behind car, was not treated fairly on trade of mercedes. purchased new ford rngr from dlrship. had rebate money to offset negative equity. veh did not live up to standard. received phone call from hyundai dlr (mgr.henry adams)_after answering survey. he wanted to helped solve problem w/o me talking to Mr. Hudson. he promised that I would be satisfied with solution. he said he would call back, never did. i called him, no return ph. call. typical car salesman bs. Jim Hudson is all about max profit on every deal. they cant help themselves. sales people (paul laruso) does not know product. Had to inform him of veh incentives. dlrship puts these people on the flr w/o proper training. would be very surprised if i receive ph. call from Mr. Hudson.

I am a Ford man. My last five purchases have been Ford trucks or cars all from different dealerships. My experiences with all of them have been like going to the dentist for a root canal - very unpleasant and somewhat painful. When I knew I was going to purchase a truck I decided to give Jim Hudson Ford a try. My wife and I had tried this dealership when it was Ben Satcher Ford with no success. Needless to say, we were not looking forward to the experience. However,we did want to buy local so we gave it a shot. Jake Gonzales was our salesman. He was very helpful in finding a truck in my price range with the features that I wanted. He was helpful without being pushy which is one thing I really appreciated.Jeff Joseph was equally helpful in explaining the extended warranty and the importance of it. We don't usually purchase the extended warranty. This time we're grateful that we did.I would rate my overall experience as excellent. I really appreciate all the work that JR and the rest of the Ford team had to put into selling me the car I wanted at a price that I could live with. This isn't my first car buying experience so I had a pretty good idea of how it would go. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how easy this time around went. JR went above and beyond the call of duty for me. He took time out of his schedule to ride with me(and endure the trip with my kids) to take the paper work to my wife for her fill out while she was at work. At one point, I even changed the deal with my trade-in and they were able to work things out so that we could keep our old family car (I found that I was having a lot of trouble parting with the old girl). Jesse was very up front with the pricing, and he bent over backwards to make sure I would be happy with what I was getting for my money. There were no games going back and forth with the sales manager over numbers; no flip flopping with offers and counter offers; and, like I said, they never grumbled when I told them I wanted to keep our old car half way through the process. It was all very smooth, very relaxed, and very open. We have been very happy with the deal and the car that got from start to finish.And when I got into the financing office with Chris, it was like running into an old buddy. He didn't waste my time going through different options and terms. He was able to zero in on all the things I was looking for and disregard all the other mumbo jumbo that I wasn't interested in. It was more like a visit with friend from a long time ago, than like going to the bank for a loan.JR and his team put me at ease and hooked me up with a deal that I can afford. No pressure; no pushing us from one vehicle to another; no one looking over our shoulder and hounding us with questions. They simply let us find what we wanted at our own pace and then helped us find a way to purchase it.

He was very honest and up front and went out of his way to make everything go smoothly for me. Chris Baker handled the finances and he really went above and beyond as well. He answered my (hundreds) of questions and laid out all of the details for me to make sure I understood the process. Our salesperson, Jake Gonzales, was exremely patient with us during our purchase, and treated us with the utmost respect. I tend to analyze large purchases such as autos very carefully and Jake helped us to weigh out all the options. Often at car dealerships you get bombarded with several different sales managers dropping in to try to pressure you into closing a deal, but this was not the case at Jim Hudson Ford. Both Jake and his manager Jesse were very understanding of our need to have some space to decide on the right vehicle for us. In the end, we made the decision to buy a new Ford Edge, and both Jake and the business manager, Chris, stayed well past closing time to complete all of the paperwork with us. Thanks again guys!
