Van Lewis was a great help in educating me on the 2016 C-Max Energi. He spent time with me to answer any questions I had on the car and was very knowledgeable on the plug in hybrid. I ended up purchasing at a different dealer closer to home but thanks to Koons Ford of Silver Spring for their assistance in pointing out a great Ford product. I will consider Koons Ford whenever I shop a new Ford in the future.

Sales team is very professional. They are trying to sell you their product, but are not as pushy as your typical car dealer.Salesman I dealt with was professional, though oddly did not seem in a great hurry to make a sale.The buying process itself was relatively easy, though very disorganized. They don't have a very streamlined process. Finance rep was competent, and pleasant. A little push trying to sell various warranties, but otherwise good.So far very happy with the car I purchased. I bought a certified pre-owned vehicle, and have had no issues as of yet.

Upon scheduling an appointment for my cars first complimentary servicing. Once I arrived at the dealership I was directed to Chris Austin who did an outstanding job with getting my car serviced according to the time scheduled to include the car being cleaned. Compliments to the overall team in their effort expeditious efforts and promptly notifying me via email with invoice and car reports once the car was complete. Everyone in the dealership were very professional and willing to help each customer regardless of how busy the business was at the time. Car needed to back in. Felix Rosa went out of his way to apologize and then make sure it was corrected. Period. It is a high mileage vehicle and was having a suspension issue. He was respectful that I did not want to put unlimited $$$ into the vehicle and worked to get it fixed properly with out unnecessary parts.

I am from "out of state" and was visiting my son who attends the University of Maryland. His car was in need of some major repairs. As a person who has purchased Ford products since the early 70s and have worked with several dealerships over the years, I was fortunate to get Felix Rosa (service advisor) when I called. Given that I needed to have the vehicle towed from my son's apartment to the dealership, we agreed to a 10:00 a.m appointment the next day. Within 2 hours, Felix was back in contact with me with an estimate, recommendations, etc. We agreed to complete an "extensive" repair job. I told him that I needed to get back on the road the next day but wanted to ensure that this did not turn into a "multi-day" repair. At 8:00 a.m. the next morning all the repairs were completed. Upon delivery, I expressed a concern about one little "minor squeak" I heard. Felix asked if I had an additional 15 minutes and he will have one of the technicians evaluate this. Again, Felix delivered on his promised and the issue was corrected with great satisfaction with 15 minutes. As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, I am not from the area. But if I did live in the area, Koon's Ford would be my dealer of choice because of the outstanding service and repairs that were provided for my son 's vehicle.

Date: 18 Jan 2016, I am writing a new review. I want to personally thank all the staff at Koons Ford in Silver Spring, MD. I purchased my 2015 Ford Escape on 26 December 2014. It has all the bells and whistles. I also purchased the extended warranty, again with all the bells and whistles. The staff in sales were amazing. I had no issues with the finance department. They have been very supportive even today. So far I have only had 1 recall and regular service 2 more times. All my experiences with the service department were on point. I made an appointment and they exceeded my expectations. I want to personally thank Stan Palczewski. He has been there for me. It warms my heart to know that I will be taken care of in an exceptional manner. I have been dealing with an ill family member for over 9 months. The care I receive at the service department allows me to concentrate on what is really important. I know it is time consuming to write a review but they are amazing people that work at Koons. 18 Jan 2016: I am so glad I purchased my 2015 Ford Escape (with all the bells and whistles) from Koons Ford of Silver Spring. I purchased it on 26 Dec 2014. I also invested in the extended warranty as well. It has been the best investment of my life. I was impressed with the sales department but that is the easy part. The service department does all the real work!!!! I have found every visit to be amazing. The work they do is most important. I understand that and they do too! So far I have only had 1 recall and several oil changes. I was very pleased by all who helped me. My special "thank you" goes out to Stan Palczewski, service advisor. His exceptional service warms my heart each and every time I need something. I call to make an appointment and he makes certain all my needs are taken care of in an exceptional manner. Everyone we encountered from our initial after hours chat room rep to the business manager completing our final paperwork were the friendliest, most genuine sales team I've encountered. The managing partner,(the owner) even personally engaged in our deal. Our sales rep was a new hire and was a little green, but the support systems exhibited by the complete staff made our sales transaction seamless. We selected a vehicle thru their online inventory. An end of the week call to try and squeak in an oil change and tire rotation was the hope; the service team was supportive and facilitated an early morning drop off on Saturday morning and had the service done as well as answering the question on the squeaking brakes. Felix Rosa as our service manager helped us get the work doe on time, below budget (thanks to cost savings he could identify). When I cam to pick up the Explorer, I asked about the key fob and battery and they changed it on the spot and tested it so my wife doesn't have any "parking lot" fret...... Thanks team Koons!

I was able to schedule a same day service appointment for routine maintenance on my 2013 Focus, and the work was completed while I waited, with only about 15-20 min longer wait than the time estimate. The free WiFi was a bit sluggish at first, but much better after the noon hour.

I called about a vehicle that was on their website and spoke to John Allen. He was helpful in getting the information I was interested in. We were not going to be in the area of the dealership until the end of the week due to work schedules and the fact the dealership was over 130 miles away. I was updated daily about the status of the vehicle. John and his sales manager Russ Blummer were eager to take my call when other questions came up. We arrived and were greeted by friendly and pleasant people. We were not pressured,drove the vehicle (in the rain), made the deal, and by the time the paperwork was finished the rain had stopped and the vehicle had been cleaned again and ready to go. We had a small issue and called. Russ Blummer was very pleasant and understanding due to the distance we traveled from. I called him the night before we were to come back and he said to see him and he would have the issue (key programming and remote start) taken care of quickly and he would follow it through. He was true to his word. We were impressed with the way we were treated. The dealership was very busy but we were taken care of quickly. We have already recommended people to go see John and Russ. Great people, Great experience. We will deal with them again. Thanks to everyone at Koons for making these out of towners feel welcome

From online inquiry, to fast email response, courteous phone calls, less pressure sales pitches up to the time that financing options were handed, their company manage to be reasonable and answered as much of the questions we gave them. They did try to work on our budget at the same time we did not feel much of the pressure to do the sales, they gave us ample time to discuss before doing the final sale. We came from Texas and from another line of cars, so I guess the only drawback that we are actually looking for is the 1 year car wash, better customer waiting/sales area where there are better refreshments, snacks and tv while waiting or a special gift for every purchase that we do. (I am sorry but all those I mentioned are being given, not to mention one dealer even have a complimentary massage when we had our car serviced for maintenance, the other gave us a calendar with our family picture & the purchased car, the other gave a small giftbox). I guess east coast do not do such practice! Anyway, I am hoping that one time, we can still have to talk to a technical specialist to show us more of the car's special features because after the long negotiations and we need to leave to prevent traffic, we need to leave earlier than we are suppose to be. Overall, well managed business etiquette!

Although I gave the facility a 2 out of 5 stars (its bland and boring) I could care less about that! Gustavo made me forget about the dealership appearance even though it is what you see at first! His service along with the manager Patrick and some help from his floor partner Daniel. I know that I got a great deal and didn't get the run around from Gus, he was very transparent and made sure I understood the process! I was recently in an auto accident that totaled my vehicle :'( However I am happy now that i got my new Mazda 3 from Gustavo over at Koons Mazda. I am in my mid 20's and a female and this is my first vehicle that i am financing! I was expecting a salesperson that would try to take advantage of me and my ignorance. Gustavo did really well in explaining the process which does take a long time i've come to find but he made it fun and not awkward! I asked him what I should look into purchasing and he directed me to a Mazda 3 he said he recently sold his mother a CX5 which is nice but a bit to pricey for me right now, I thought he was just saying that to get me to buy at first but his mom actually showed up that day to pick it up and I was surprised about how honest he was and that made me feel as ease with the buying experience. The facility is a little outdated but his office was nice and warm and he even had some chocolate sweets and coffee to offer. Overall I would recommend anyone and everyone here to Koons Mazda and to ask for Gustavo!

My partner and I arrived at the Koons Mazda dealership in Oct. 2014, just to check out the different cars and see what's available. Lee was our sales representative, and provided us with a walk-through of the various Mazda models. Since I had my eyes on the 2015 Mazda3, Lee said we should take it for a test-drive, so that I can see what it's like. He provided an overview of the car, and we proceeded to take the vehicle on a 15 minutes test-drive. Afterwards, as with any dealership, we went back to look at the finances. We finally had an offer both parties can agree on, and I am happy to say that I'm very happy with the car I purchased. I want to note that during the whole process, not once did I feel pressured to buy a car--they just made the offers and we negotiated back and forth until the offer was too good for me to let go. The overall experience was much more pleasant compared to other dealerships that I've been to. Given how smoothly everything went at this dealership, I will gladly come back for future car purchases, with Lee as the sale representative!

Just purchased a Mazda from Rick Sanchez at Koons of Silver Spring. I went to other dealerships to include others in the Koons company but none compared to Koons in Silver Spring. Rick was very easy going and patient with me. He explained the car buying process to me so I did not feel lost or overwhelmed at any point. I visited Koons to purchase a car but it had not arrived. Since I was there anyway, I decided to look at the rest of their inventory. I approached Rick Sanchez and let him know what I was looking for. He was able to find a car that was much better than the one that I went there for. Rick never tried to pressure me or sell me something that I was not interested in. I was very cautious because I was told to never trust car salespeople but Rick was the complete opposite of what I was expecting. I am glad that I went to Koons because I love my car. Totally changed my mind about how I perceive car salespeople.

I submitted my credit info online 12/31/14 and visited Koons of Silver Spring 1/1/15 to look at the Ford Escape and see if I could obtain financing on my own. Upon entering the building I was greeted by Billy. He introduced himself. Asked my needs in the new car I was searching for today and showed me that he had three different colors at their location to choose from. I like gray so I asked to see the gray one. Billy pulled up the Escape and offered to test drive it. I owned a 2001 Escape that has high miles so I know what they are all about. Billy insisted that there have been alot of changes since 2001 in the Escape that I should drive it. I did take the test drive and was very impressed with the advances in the Escape but all I really wanted to know was could I get financed without someone helping me. We then went inside and I was asked by Billy if he could get me acceptable terms to purchase that Escape would I, and I said yes. He got everything ready while I waited to speak with someone from the finance department. They got me financed with Ford and now I am enjoying my new 2015 Ford Escape! Overall my experience was great and I am very happy! Thanks Billy for all your assistance in my purchase.

I wrote a review on my sales experience there now I must say they have a great service department as well. Being a women I hate visiting service departments because I always feel like they personally try to take advantage of me because they think I don't know what is going on or understand automobiles. I grew up around cars, my grandfather did engine repairs all the time with me around learning how they work. I bought my new car from Billy Mensh and mentioned I had an older car that needed some work and that I did not trust service departments of dealerships. He assured me that his service department was one of the best in the area and they would treat me right to bring my vehicle in and give them a chance. I did and I am so sorry but do not remember the name of the service guy who checked my car in. I thought my car may need extensive work but they recommended fluid flushes because my car had been sitting for a while, checked all my hoses and rotated my tires. Just the normal things required and did not try to tell or push me for things it truly did not need to get done. Thanks for selling me a new car and introducing me to your service department Billy!

I came in to buy a new Ford Mustang. Met Billy Mensh who greeted me promptly and offered to let me test drive the Mustang. I first drove the V6 model which I liked very much but it's not made with the options I wanted in my new car. He then let me drive the Ecoboost fully loaded, I liked that car's set up but not impressed but the motor so Billy offered the GT which gave me the V8 motor. After driving the V8 I knew that's what I wanted. He then located one that was inbound to another location and worked out to get that car for me. I wanted patiently for my new Mustang to arrive and Billy called me right away when it came in. I now have a beautiful red Mustang that I love to drive. Thanks to Billy and his professionalism to take care of my dream car search for me.

The remodeling and changes in staffing was accomplished in a very timely manner. I found a used car I was very interested in after a lot of searching. I contacted the dealership and tried to set up a time to test drive the car. First, the salesman they assigned me didn't even answer me for two days to set up an appointment. Then I made sure to ask him several times if they still had the car because I was coming from far away. I set up an appointment and drove all the way to the dealership. When I got there, the salesman assigned to me was nowhere to be found and I was pushed off on an assistant salesman. We walked into his cubicle and he had no idea why I was there or what I was interested in. I told him which car I wanted to test drive and he said, "That car was sold already." He kindly double checked the computer, and it was indeed gone. I had just made this appointment the day before, so the salesman knew the car I wanted was gone and lied to me. I was so mad I just got up and left. Assistant salesman didn't even try to stop me. Then the next day I got an email from one of the many managers saying she was sorry I couldn't make it out the day before. I answered her saying I did come out and didn't appreciate being lied to and being pushed off on someone else when I got there. Then said never to let that jerk contact me again and that I couldn't go into any more detail without using curse words. Dealing with a car salesman is never a pleasant experience, and this just proved why. I want to know where the customer service was that other reviews mention.

I had a great experience leasing a Mazda6 from Koons Mazda and John Speake in Silver Spring. I did my research on what a basis cost for the lease should be and they were right on the money! John calculated my lease cost several different ways (depending on what I did with my current car) and showed me the best option. John had my car ready and waiting for me and expedited the closing process. And I love the car! Howard

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. I was treated well, and overall communication was good. Jarrett and Billy Mitch were very good, courteous, thoughtful. However, I thought my trade in value could have been more. I'm not sure why it was so low. Despite this, love the car I'm in. I was really surprised at the quality of the car, and all the perks. Mr. Mitch took time to show me what the car could do, which was nice. I was asked to go out on a limb and trust them, and I did. I would refer others to them. I found staff to be overall, very professional, and helpful. I am looking forward to a long and happy relationship with my car and Koons!

Saw 2013 Prius V on Cars.com at Koons Ford of Silver Spring. Price was good. Made 1 1/2 hr. drive to see & drive car. Our salesperson, Linda, was very helpful. The car was just what we were looking for and the deal was good. We had the usual negotiations for our trade-in and ended with a fair price. They cleaned the car up and had it shining for our drive back to Pa.

Communication was excellent, however the car Koons advertised on cars.com was not a vehicle the dealership had possession of. The dealership advertised it on the pretext that they already had a buyer and ultimately, that buyer recanted his purchase. As a remote shopper (over 400 miles to dealership) I need solid confirmation of the car's integrity ad history before I burn a weekend to travel for one test drive. After the fallout of this sale, the dealership elected not to take the car into inventory and thus, there was no way I could get a PPI (pre purchase inspection) unless I wanted to make a deposit. No granted, said deposit is refundable if I chose not to buy the car but this was the first time I was required to put money down on a vehicle which was not on the showroom floor. Furthermore, I'd say to any consumer that providing your secure credit card information in a transaction like this invites too many security risks. In summary, excellent communication by the salesman. He was honest and prompt. I wish the salesmen in the Boston Metro-Area were more like him. As for the Internet Marketing Division of Koons Silver Spring Ford Lincoln, it's not in the cars.com members' best interests. Its mission to get buyers into the showroom, not to sell cars. Unless you intend to work with the dealership in person, I would not recommend Koons for your online purchase. Respectfully submitted, K. Kaltenborn

Maybe I was just lucky, but I had an exceptional new car buying experience here. The salesman was low key but extremely knowledgeable, helpful and sociable. Cars have become so complex and it really makes a difference when the salesman knows his stuff without overwhelming you with detail you aren't interested in. After a test drive we asked for a quote, but made it clear up front that we were ready to buy but wouldn't be making a decision that day. In his words, the salesman "threw a crazy number at us" just to see if that would get us to decide right then. It was for a color they didn't have in stock so would have to secure from another dealer. I had done my homework and knew it was a surprisingly great price, but we didn't take the deal right then. The next day I went to another dealer who did have the exact car in stock. They couldn't come within $1000 of the deal I was offered at Koons and were clearly skeptical I could go back and actually get that price. I went back to Koons later that day, put down a deposit, they got the car the next day and I got my great deal and a smooth experience. While signing paperwork with Finance, I was offered the usual extended warranties, service packages, etc. but just said no and that was it. No pressure or hassle.

I have been to a Koons dealership before (in Manassas) and had a good experience. My family and I traveled a good distance to personally inspect a pre-owned vehicle that we were interested in. One of the sales persons, Rick, greeted me and referred to one of his colleague, Mike. Our experience went down hill from that point. The vehicle was not ready as it was being cleaned. We were not even allowed to take a quick peak at the vehicle. Mike did not seem to care about our needs but was rather focusing on other customers and chatting with his other colleagues. Rick walked by us several times, did not bother to ask us if we were being helped, and feigned to not see us. We ended leaving the dealership as no one seemed to care about us. We wasted our time traveling to this dealership and spending the time there. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. They will not earn my business and we will not recommend anyone to them.

Purchased a car through this dealership and it was very pleasant. Salesperson Sam Lee was very helpful and polite. The dealership gave me a fair price for my trade and also did some touch up work on my new car without hesitation. They also didn't do the extreme hardsell in trying to sell warrenties and other packages - sure they offer to sell them to you and explain why, but respect your decision if you decline. Would not hesitate about buying another vehicle here and definitely recommend this dealership to others.

I went in for a F250 I saw on Cars.com and took a definite notice to the attention they paid to literally all my needs as a buyer. This dealership could conduct training on how it SHOULD be done--every single employee at this dealership was polite, attentive, friendly, service-oriented, and generally perfect. We ended up at this dealership due to a shortage of the hybrid we were seeking, and it's almost an hour away so we pass numerous Ford dealerships on the way.
