There were many difficulties to buy a used car for me. I am international student and I moved in here about for 4 weeks ago. My English ability is not perfect. I've never bought a car when I was in home country, and actually I have had no interest in a car as female. However, fortunately, I met great dealer, Robert Andrus in Lafotaine Ford. He introduced me about ford certified system for used car in an excellent condition. This system allowed me, an amateur driver, to buy a used car without any suspicious thought. And Robert taught me how to check the status of a used car such as engine oil, wheel, and etc. Other people in Lafotaine Ford are all kind to me. Whenever I have difficulties to understand their words, they tried to explain them more easily. It was great experience to buy a certified 2013 ford focus in here.

I have never looked at or bought a car from Lafontaine, but I have used their service department. It was an excellent experience from start to finish, Andy in the service department kept me informed every step of the way and my car was repaired very quickly. The price for the fix wasn't great but when they got it done quickly and informed me of a recall on my Fiesta that I didn't know of, they took care of the recall on the transmission and my car is driving 100x's better which is worth paying a little more than expected on the repair. Thank you Lafontaine :)

Everything was done well, but, I was promised a call to give the final price I would pay for all the services done that day but ended up not getting the called as promised. Also, I would in the future like a call to update and give me an estimated time I would need to pick up my vehicle.Other than that, the service manager was well versed, very knowledgeable, and was really good at explaining processes that Ford Motor Company adheres to for maintenance and repairs.

Ill start by saying I have bad credit. I made the mistake of starting my shopping for a vehicle at those guaranteed financing dealers like RPM , Paradise Motors ETC... DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! They offer junk cars at well over KBB or NADA value and your leasing , not buying the vehicle. Now , go see Robert Andrus at LaFontine Ford of Lansing. He has Amazing service. He is respectful curteous and makes sure you are in the vehicle you are comfortable, with payments that fit your needs. Dealership advertised a vehicle with power running boards and remote start. We drove over an hour and a half to see the vehicle. During our test drive felt a vibration in the front of the vehicle. When returning to the dearlership I inspected the vehicle and noticed the front drive shaft seal was leaking. Also noticed the vehicle had no power running boards, in fact it had no running boards. I.asked them to put the vehicle up so could inspect it more and during that inspection I tested.the front tires suspecting a wheel bearing was bad and it was. After all these issues I then tested the remote start and it really did not surprise me that it did not work. I would not.recommend this dealership cause not only did they misrepresent what options where on the vehicle they let me drive 80 plus miles and waste a day looking at something that was not close to what was advertised.

No sales gimmicks. Chad was happy to sell me a truck and the process was quick and easy. The truck box was installed off to one side at the factory. Dealership service adjusted the bumper. I will have to center the box and realign the bumper. Very suprised this problem was overlooked at the factory.

Took 2013 Escape in for 75k mile scheduled maintenance & oil change. Told them radiator fluid low. After picking up car realized fluid not filled. At next oil change w/ competitor, air filter very dirty (obviously not changed) and in-car air filter (3 years old) was completely black. They did charge us for fuel cleaner & injection cleaners. At inspection, also told us front rotors needed to be turned. A break shop told us they they were fine. They have lost credibility & our trust.

My experience went very great with this dealership! I was looking for a particular truck with certain specs and the last one in the U.S. Was here. They worked with me very thoroughly even though I lived 4 hours away. My sales guy I worked with Jeremy Herbik was very nice and knowledgable and was very flexible withMe. I needed to sell my old truck and they put a hold on the truck for me until I sold it which was about 2 weeks. Then jeremy went the extra mile and drove the truck 4 hours with less than 24 hour notice down to me and showed the truck to me and let me test drive it and even paid to have it washed after he arrived before I signed the papers. The manager Steve pengelly was also very helpful and went the extra mile by arranging having a scratch touched up here where I live the next day after they delivered the truck. If you want great customer service and a team that is willing to go the extra mile and take their time with you I recommend you go see Jeremy and Steve at Lafontaine Ford of Lansing

I called about a truck that was listed online and spoke to Jordan Wilson. The truck was used and wasn't even at the dealership yet. Jordan was on top of it from my first phone call to him. We wanted the truck as long as it checked out once it arrived. It arrived late in the day so that would have meant 2 trips to Lansing from Grass Lake. Jordan offered to have the truck delivered to me after it passed inspection and was sent to be detailed. I was shocked a dealership would do this since we lived a hour away! Nate was also very quick and helpful getting us in and out of the dealership for our paperwork. My truck was delivered as promised and I couldn't be happier. Every question, call, text, or email I had for Jordan was answered within minutes! I like how this guy works. This is the best experience we have ever had by far purchasing a vehicle. My son has had his car (Ford Contour) regularly serviced at this dealership. They supposedly fixed his leaking oil problem last year. When the engine died after a horrible noise, he had it towed to their service department. They thought is was the battery (batteries don't make a horrible noise) and mentioned his ball joints needed replacing. They replaced the battery and ball joints and took it for a test drive, but the engine shut down again. They then determined he needed a new engine because it had been running without oil. Later it was discovered that none of the indicator lights came on to alert anyone to the problem. Originally I was upset with them for what I felt was a drastic error on their part. However, they are trying very hard to correct the situation. They located another engine and are in the process of installing it with the promise to check the working condition of the indicators to assure this doesn't happen again. I must say that they are turning this previously disappointed customer to a satisfied one.

We had a pretty complicated situation not to mention the fact that we live and work in Jackson about 45 minutes away from Lansing so we couldn't just go over to the dealership. Sam emailed me pics of the vehicle were interested in and even suggested a different vehicle that worked better for us (which we ultimately ended up buying), and he had the deal all approved and put together before we ever even came out. Seriously. Sam Darish drove 300 miles to pick up my new Explorer in OHIO and then drove it TO MY HOUSE and did the paperwork at my kitchen table. I received a phone call from Cari Gonzalez after she attained my name when I tried to get a car from a competitor dealership (they gave out my name). I'm actually glad they did because I had never been to this dealership before. She was extremely friendly and courteous... making sure she knew my circumstances so she could help me. Because of it being hard for me to make it in there and it was late in the weekend... she sent me an application to my e-mail... along with a link to their website. I found their website to be very user friendly. I completed the form and sent it on Sunday March 29, 2015... Monday Ron Wagner called me asked a couple of questions and said he was pretty sure they could help me out and would get back with me. Today Ron called said they could indeed help me and arranged for someone to come pick me up. I had originally went to the dealership for a 2012 ford fusion but after the test drive, wanted a newer model with less wear and tear and Robert did an excellent job showing me a newer fully loaded fusion in which i fell in love with the moment i sat in the car. His willingness to fully explain all the features of the car and allow me to test drive it was great. He really seemed interested in selling the vehicle and making sure I liked it. I wound up buying the vehicle and he went above and beyond by even coming by my house to help me set up the car and helped set up my sync and all the fun features. I could not have made a better decision than to have sat down with Niel Granning for a few minutes of time after mistakenly ending up at the wrong dealership looking for a friend of mine also in car sales. He, and the financial officer, listened to every word and question I had the first time and went even further to help me find a new truck that fit what I was looking for and my budget.I did not go in looking for a new truck or a Ford, my object of desire happened to be a Dodge Ram and I had not seen one on their lot but given a few moments Mr Granning had a truck similar to one I had test driven at another dealership found at another of their dealerships and told me it would be there Monday for a test drive. In the meantime their financial officer had me approved in advance. The entire experience took a bit under 1 hr 15 minutes I think maybe less. My case could not have been easy after being at a dealership earlier in the day and patiently waiting 2 1/2 hrs for an approval on what I had thought was my dream truck. I don't have bad credit but I do not have an extensive credit history seemed to be the problem there, nevermind that it was a Saturday afternoon . I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get his/herself a new or used truck to give the folks here 1 hr of their time to see for themselves. You won't regret it.. It could not have been more fortuitous that I had stopped in on accident..

My husband and I have been looking for a new truck for a long time... I mean a looooong time, on and off again for two years. We went to all the dealers around the lansing area and we looked online through craigslist and even dealers outside of the lansing area. Now mind you I am a wife whom is happily married to an annoyingly indecisive man who claims he needs a truck that can haul all his toys. But come on, two years of searching for a truck? That's ridiculous! So needless to say that when I walked into LaFontaine Ford in Lansing I was a bit skeptical of the outcome of the trip. Jerry met us with a smile, let us test drive all the trucks we wanted, then he gave us each a cup of coffee to warm up with. Oh, did I mention that it was the coldest day in Michigan in years??? Man, I am one patient wife. Anyways, the wishy washy mind of my husband had its eye set on a blue ford truck of some sorts. Jerry, sitting at his desk, asked "What would it take for you to buy this truck today?" I let out a rather loud laugh and Jerry looked at me like I was crazed, which I was. Two freaking years of truck hunting will do that to a woman. He calmly looked at me and asked, "What?" I decided to be brutally honest and state my thoughts, "Well, fifteen years I have been with this man and he has never been one to make a decision on a wim. If he walked out of here today with buying that truck, well, I wouldn't even know who I was married to anymore." My husband's response, you might ask? He stated, "She's right." And I then sat there like the proud wife I am because I'm married to a husband that knows how important it is to tell the wife she is right whenever possible. Now as I write this review I am left to wonder, who did I marry ten years ago? Who is this man driving a blue ford truck? No, it can't be my husband. And how is it that I find the time to write a review when I have never wrote a review before? Could it really be that after two years of searching high and low for a freaking truck that our search is truly over and I have extra time on my hands to twiddle my thumbs? I now can say in my crazed laughter filled voice "Yes I do! The search is finally over! Thank you Jerry!" And thank you to all the staff at LaFontaine Ford for the great service and for washing my vehicle too before I left my hubby behind to drive his new vehicle home.

The incredible thing is when I settled on options, cab size, and paint they had two identical trucks in stock. I have read some negative reviews and my experience was the opposite. I have historically been very disappointed with the Lincoln/Ford dealer service departments in the greater Lansing area. I took our Lincoln, which was not purchased at La Fontaine, in for service. Some was warranty work and some was out of pocket for me (for maintenance items). I found the staff, including Andrew Burgett, to be attentive, helpful, and always courteous. I was kept updated on the progress of my vehicle and the bill was detailed and fair. I am generally a very picky customer, but could find no flaws in the work performed or the condition of my vehicle when it was returned to me. I also had a very specific technical question about my AWD PTU (Power Transfer Unit). I decided to just try to reach the service manager, Keith Slaught, directly. I called the main line at the dealership and asked for Keith, expecting to get voice mail or redirected to a service adviser. To my surprise and delight, Keith answered the phone (this would be unheard of at the other dealerships I had dealt with before LaFontaine). Keith spent, literally, 20 minutes of the phone with me answering my questions, explaining the component, and making recommendations to me. I never felt rushed by him and he never pressured me to perform unnecessary service. I would recommend the LaFontaine service department to my family and friends, which is a testament to my confidence in their work, honesty, and customer service. I would not let some of the negative reviews here dissuade you from trying LaFontaine. There is usually much more to the story than presented. Nobody likes paying for repairs. And, if you are not knowledgeable with respect to car care, it can be scary and you can feel taken advantage of, even if that is not really the case. LaFontaine has earned a customer in me through their exemplary service. I would recommend that if you are reading this and are looking for a reliable and fair Ford service department, that you simply visit the LaFontaine service department and speak with the service manager before passing judgment based on some online negative reviews. I am confident that LaFontaine will win your trust if given the opportunity!

Long story short...the "other" Ford dealership was not responsive whatsoever. We them made the great decision to meet with Robert Andrus at Lafontaine-Lansing. He met with us on short notice...within 3 hours we rolled away with 2 new Escapes, Robert was absolutely wonderful and thorough...Nate Harutunion did a great job with the financing and explaining the details to first time new car owners! GREAT experience...definitely my #1 Ford dealership!!

$640 to replace 2 spark plugs, 2 coils, BG fuel maintenance, and an oil change. I will not be going back to this dealership for service. I will post in every forum about this place. DONOT TAKE YOUR TRUCK HERE FOR SERVICE!

I bought a 2011 Ford Taurus a month ago. I came in with credit issues due to the recent death of my spouse. I worked with Sam Darish who was awesome. I love my car. It's great on gas, is newer than my last vehicle, has a more affordable payment and has half the miles as my last vehicle. Sam has followed up with me even after the purchase. I took my 2013 Explorer to the dealership on a Monday because the service engine light popped on. I was told that the light appeared because there was dirt on the fuel door. The door was supposedly cleaned and the problem resolved. The very next week, the light reappeared. This time I was told that they had to tear the car apart to find the problem. I believe I was blown off during the first visit and the problem was never diagnosed. It takes forever to repair a car at this place! As soon as this vehicle is fixed, it is going to go up for sale and I'm buying GM products. Crippen has great, accurate and fast service.

Contacted them to look at a specific vehicle. I had expressed the things crucial to my vehicle selection would be gas efficiency, the ability to fit all 4 of my dogs in the bed, and to stay under a price point as this was going to be a vehicle to transport my dogs in. At one point of the browsing process the sales representative asked me if "I could live with it" about a vehicle. I laughed and thought to myself that I could live with my current vehicle, I was just looking for something better. Living in a city with so many used car dealerships I found it amazing that they were so asking of me to bend on my wants to fit into their inventory.

I recently bought a 2011 Jeep from Chad and it was a very easy/pleasant experience. No pressure and I was in and out of there with the car in roughly 2 hours. It was a fair price for a very nice used vehicle. He has checked in a few times to make sure I was enjoying the vehicle and when I had a small issue with the tire he went way out of his way to get me into the service center.

Robert and Nate, were incredible to work with. I was running out of hope that anyone could help get me out of the awful vehicle I was in, but one stop into LaFontain, met with them and I drove off the lot with my 2010 fusion! Working in customer service myself, I have a high expectation of how people in that position should be, but Nate and Robert set the bar very high for anyone working in this industry. I had never owned a Ford before but because of them I will most definitely only buy here! Thank you so much for everything you did and I look forward to working with you both in the future!

I bought a used 2005 ford F-350 from Chad Woodard at LaFontaine ford of Lansing. The day after my purchase I was getting into my truck when the running board drop 4 inches. I fell to the ground, I qas in shock over what just happen. I slid under the truck and seen that 3 of 4 brackets for the running board are broken and have been ghetto rig back together. I contact Chad, he told me that he can't order new brackets. That I will need to buy new running board's. After weeks of dealing with Chad. The manager calls me up and says he didn't know about any of this they will install new running boards just drop the truck off so they can order the right running board's . I drop the truck off, and I pick it up the next day. They wielded the old broken running boards to my trucks frame without permission. I have tried contacting them countless times they don't return my messages. I don't believe the truck was ever inspected. I think I bought someone's problems and all LaFontaine did was put it on their lot. The truck has a coolant leak found that out when I added coolant to the empty reservoir. A wobble when your on the highway. They say they did a full inspection so either their service department sucks or they are lieng. Either way I lose, don't let this be you stay away from LaFontaine.

Overall a bad experience! I was looking at a specific vehicle and they told me I don't want that and that I would t like the payment....even though I could easily afford it. Very pushy and fake acting towards me. I will not be returning to this dealership.

My wife and I live in the Jackson area. After searching for a used f150 led us nowhere locally, we were forced to work our way north. we stumbled upon Lafontaine and found the truck we had been looking for. a 2011 extended cab with 67000 miles with a body so clean you could eat off of it. 1 week after we purchased the truck, a steady vibration started to occur. I took the truck back up and was told by our salesman to wait after the new year holiday because the service shop was busy until then, and that the problem could be no more than an unbalanced tire. I took it back after the requested time, and the truck was diagnosed with an unbalanced tire and ice on the drive shaft. They had 3 people drive it after the tire was rebalanced and the ice was melted off the shaft and according to them the truck was fixed. I picked it up and got 2 blocks down the road to test it, only to discover the truck was the same as when I took it in. I called to speak to the service advisor about my discovery, and of course was not available. I left a message to have him call me back and told the gentleman who picked up the phone why I was calling. I could not take the truck back right away, because I picked it up on my lunch break. I received no phone call back that day. I called the next day- same lie about needing to speak to the advisor who wrote the work order up and of course he was not in at that time. I called for a third time! this was Saturday and service is closed. I spoke to the secretary and explained my situation. I was assured that I would get a phone call back on Monday. I told her great, and if I didn't I would have to take the truck elsewhere to be repaired. I didn't receive a phone call, so I made good with my promise and took the truck to Seymour Ford since the truck was under warranty. While at Seymour Ford, I called Lafontaine and explained to them what was going on with the truck. I asked for my money back. All they claimed they could do for me was take it back in on "fair trade." "I would only loose 4 to 5 thousand dollars on trading it back but they would hook me up with a great deal on a new vehicle." that was the conversation I had with used general sales manager. I then asked, what would they do with the truck since it obviously had some undiagnosed problem with it. the response was " I don't know, I would have my guys look at it, then it would go back on the lot." That's right, they were going to put something they knew that had a problem back out on the lot for the next suckers. While at Seymour Ford, it took them only a couple of days to discover this truck had a serious issue. (something that Lafontaine Ford could have discovered too if they would have spent more than 1 hour with it!). It was immediately referred to Ford's Technical Department. It was finally diagnosed with a bad cylinder (not an unbalanced tire and ice on the drive shaft) and the short block had to be replaced (thank you Ford for my new motor). If you want to work with patient, and hard working group of people, take it to Seymour Ford. If you want to deal with complete xxxx xxxxx willing to throw a junky truck back on the lot for someone else to own, go to Lafontaine. I hope someone at Ford Motor Company reads this review some day, and realizes what a disgusting black eye Lafontaine is on there name. People read all the reviews on this site, there are some similarities with what I and others are saying, especially with the service department. Lafontaine- you also disgust me to death, I will never be back! I have successfully deterred 8 people to date from walking into your doors, all of whom bought Ford vehicles from somewhere else. This is something I will continue to do until my dying day too! I have had my 02 Explorer in for service numerous times. Every time I seem to get ripped off more and more. Recently I needed a parking brake cable replaced and did not want to do it myself without a lift and in the snow. The part can be bought online for ~$30 and only needs to be routed and clamped in place at the ends. They charged me $310. I drove the car back to school and tried applying my parking brake...and it didn't work. Not only that but the ABS went out...ironic. Furthermore, I asked them to look at the wheel housing since I had noticed some unusual noises and actions lately...they said they checked it out and everything looked fine. Later I jacked my truck up, took the wheel off, and inspected it myself...the upper ball joints were shot. This Dealer goes out of their way to try to take advantage of you and does sub-par work. I will never take another vehicle there and strongly recommend you don't either.

My husband and I have been all around Lansing looking for cars and this is one of the last places I would recommend. We were there in the winter and prepared for the cold....Jerry was not. He rushed us around from car to car (some of the cars were not even for sale and were employee cars!!). We were able to look outside for maybe 10mins and then we were brought inside. We felt rushed and shoe-horned into a certain car. The finance guy we talked to was much better and had we delt with him the whole time we probably would have purchased a car. Jerry seemed more interested in making his sale than making sure we were happy and felt comfortable with this investment. I also can't forget to mention that after we brought the car back from our test drive and we said it wasnt for us, Jerry cornered my husband between two cars and wouldn't let him leave. A customer's explanation of "its just not the right fit for us" should be a good enough aanswer. Would not recommend this office based off of our experience today.... maybe if we had a patient and willing sales person my answer would be different.

Poor customer service, quoted different prices, told it wasn't the alt. then was the alt. picked it up parts 2x3 piece of metal believe a skid plate left on floor board had to bring it back now making a clunking noise asked to have service manager call me still haven't heard from him disappointed in this service. mechanic Jim said it would have been done right but he felt rushed. Now my vehicle is making a clunking noise that never did before.

I can not say enough good things about this dealership and the three gentlemen I listed above! Mark Grinell was my salesman...talk about a class act! He was very kind, patient and above all, genuine....Something I had never experienced before when buying a new car. I like him so much I plan to keep in in touch with him! I had to call them each day to find out what was going on with my car. They did finally offer an Enterprise rental car. Now Enterprise service was exceptional! They had my car for 2 and a half days. When I received my bill they charged me a $50 deductible which was not supposed to be the case. So now I have to call Ford and straighten this out and Discover and unauthorize payment. I got into my car to drive home and it was a muddy mess! My clock was off, the radio had to be reprogrammed and my sunglasses were tossed in the passenger seat with a bunch of crumbs under them. I keep my car immaculate which is how it was when I went in for service and expected it to be returned the same way. (This has always been respected and the normal experience I received from Courtesy Ford and Shaheen Chevrolet when I took my car to both places in the past for service.) Both front mats had dirt and muddy footprints on them. The mat behind the driver's seat was turned upside down. I have no idea why except that when I turned it over it also had muddy footprints on it. Made me wonder if 3 people got in and took it to lunch??? I called Chad to let him know about all this and said here's a tip: when a customer's car comes in the shop clean, it should leave that way. He didn't offer any apology nor did he say bring it in and we'll clean it up for you or give you a discount of some sort. Is this really any way to keep a customer's business? I wouldn't dream of treating anyone this way.
