My 20 year old daughter wanted, had to have a VW and wanted to do it all on her own. I called and called and got no help from more than a few dealers IE: 25% down, 15% interest as she had never had credit but has good job) after talking on the phone for an extended time explaining our dilemma the gentleman tells me he not only works there but owns it. Sent me to see a local Langan dealer (Capitol City Cars, great people). My daughter is now driving her VW Jetta and loves it...they got her in a car 4.5 % and just what she wanted down. I would recommend any of the Langan stores to all, i have been in customer service 15 years and the Langan folks know how to do it right. Thank you very much for everything!!!

From the first time I visited Langan in Meriden, I was received with respect and courtesy. I leased an EOS at that time (2011) and today I picked up my third EOS from Langan VW. I cannot express how pleased my experience has been with this wonderful, professional organization. Dave Julian gave me excellent information on the 2014 EOS and Jessie Santana completed the transaction and made it as easy and flawless as possible. I have purchased at least twelve VWs in my lifetime but nothing compared to the professionalism and service I received from Langan and especially from Mr. Santana. I have recommended in the past Langan VW and will continue to do so and recommend specifically Mr. Santana.

I have never gone to a car dealership before and was not sure whether I wanted used or new, or what kind of car. I only knew what I liked about my old car and what I needed going forward. I enjoyed hearing about the different types of cars from someone who clearly has a passion for the vehicles he is selling. Once I selected a model of vehicle, I needed to hear all about it, the trunk, the engine, the locks, the maintenance schedule, the seat, the radio, just everything.....again from someone excited about cars and excited about Volkswagen. I am now excited to own a Volkswagen and feel comfortable to call or stop by the dealership with any questions I may have. Cars are a large investment, and customers should be treated well in every way. I saved my money for a car, and I am happy to have chosen Volkswagen when the time was right.

Both Al and Dave went out of their way to make the deals as we acquired a Jetta TDi and an EOS. They gave us a great bottom line price, explained our options in purchase vs. lease. Upon pick up of the vehicles a few days later the cars were detailed, the car features were explained thoroughly and patiently.This is a great dealership

We went to Langan after searching for our 2011 Jetta 2.5 SE. We couldn't have been more pleased with the whole experience. They really care, want the customer to be completely satisfied, and are very low-pressure when it comes to making decisions. Al Gibson was also very helpful with the whole process, and very genuine. I recently spoke with some friends who specialize in fixing Volkswagens and Audis, and when I mentioned to them that I bought the car from Langan, they said they are some of the best to buy from. My high marks for Langan Volkswagon are due largely to my dealings with Albert Gibson. During my shopping and ultimate purchase of a Volkswagon, not once did I feel that Albert was trying to "sell me a car." It felt more like Albert was my personal shopper, educating me about cars in general, and Volkswagons inparticular. Even after a minor issue arose, after my purchase, Albert was there with service and support. Recommendation for Car Shoppers: Shop at Langan Volkswagon with Albert Gibson. NB: All of Langan's staff, including Alexio Cardona, made for a very satisfying car-shopping experience.

I needed quite a few things for my 96 Jetta that I recently picked up used from a friend. Unfortunately, that friend did not take care of the car in the least, so my list of replacement parts was quite extensive. I spoke with Mark Nellis over the phone to verify that I was still able to get what I needed new. He was extremely friendly and informative, and an even greater help when I came down to Langan in Meriden in person. Anything that he didn't have on hand or couldn't get in a reasonable time frame was able to be located nearby. The quality of service was excellent and I'm definitely going through him in the future.

Love this dealership!! I purchased a Volkswagen there before and had excellent service. I was always taken care of well and treated professionally and courteously. Dave Demerchant in service is always very knowledgeable and accommodating. That is why returning here for my next purchase was obvious. I highly recommend Langon VW! David Julian and his staff are fabulous! If I lived local I would buy my next VW for Langon VW and this is why.....My husband and I were traveling thru CT on a recent road trip. After spending the night in Meriden my Jetta TDI would not start. There we were hundreds of miles away from home and my car will not start. Feeling completely helpless I pulled out the VW owner travel companion and realized we were only three miles from Langon VW. Since it was a Saturday the service dept could not work me in. But David Julian the manager of the dealership came to the rescue. While we arranged a tow to the dealership David was arranging a rental car for us. He also sent one of his salesman to pick one of us up so we could complete paperwork before the rental place closed. Once the salesman(Al) arrived my husband asked him if he wanted to listen to the sound my TDI was making. When my husband turned the key my car started but then quickly shut off. He tried it again and it fired and stayed running. We then followed Al to the dealership. Once there David cheeked a few things out on my car and said he didn't see any reason why we needed to stay until Monday morning to have the car cheeked out. He was right we have not had any trouble since. He said we most likely had water in the diesel since we had driven thru two days on monsoon rains. He suggested we buy some fuel treatment. David could have told us that he needed to keep our car and make a few bucks but he didn't! He was straight up and honest with us!

This was my first involvement with Langan VW and, quite frankly, it was the most professional car buying experience I've been through. Albert Gibson was the lead salesman and I found his approach to be honest, sincere, direct and engaging. I never felt pressured by Al and he was very helpful in narrowing down the right car for me. During the final walkthrough, Albert was extremely thorough and I felt well-informed when I left. An email was sent to the office and an immediate response came through in the morning. We were very happy with the simplicity of no haggling and financing went through nicely. The Jetta Hybrid we wanted to buy was highly rated on Edmunds and Consumer Reports. We went to the dealer with a price in mind. They beat it. STAY AWAY from this dealer at all costs. Purchased their "Deal of the week", which because it was more than seven years old was sold "as-is," meaning we have no recourse through the state attorney general for repair costs however major they might be. Because it was a VW dealership, I wrongly assumed they would not sell us a car that needed immediate major repairs. Well, I wrong, to the tune of more than $3,000, of which they absolutely couldn't care less, from the sales manager to the GM. Again, stay away from Langan.

We have serviced several cars at Langan for years. We were in the market for a quality used car or new car. During a routine service, my husband saw a used TDI Jetta that was just traded in. We stopped by to see the car while in the neighborhood. It was early Saturday morning and the sales floor was not yet open. Albert Gibson was there early and greated us. He provided excellent advice and did not push us in any direction; rather, he was an excellent source of information. He gave well informed answers about comparable cars other dealerships could not. He even came to pick me upon the day of purchase because I had no ride to the dealership. The overall experience was pleasant. I would recommend Langan and Albert Gibson to family and friends. We are thrilled with the car and I am looking forward to driving 600 to 700 miles between fill ups!

Both Al and Dave ended up going on test drives with me and demonstrated good knowledge of the vehicles. Two months after purchasing a new 2013 VW Jetta from Langan VW Meriden the battery in the key died, which caused the vehicle not to start for me. I called the dealership and spoke with the service dept, which suggested to call VW Roadside Assistance and have my vehcile towed to the dealership. It was towed from my work in Hartford to this dealership and afterwards I had learned that their shuttle does not go to Hartford - and the where the shuttle does go to it only runs until 3pm - huge inconvenience!

I contacted this dealer (Al Gibson) and after a few emails back and forth,because he was unreachable by phone, he got nasty. After his nastiness, he then stated that perhaps I should contact a different dealer. I was really turned off by his (written attitude) and snarkiness. I won't be using this dealer again. If I could give him a zero, I would.

My wife and I just bought a Jetta wagon - TDi.We told them what we wanted prior to visiting and they found the style and color and had it on the lot when we visited -- the first time! Dave Julian didn't know if we were kicking tires or what but he took us seriously from the start with out being pushy which can happen at a dealership.During the visit Al Gibson and Dave were informative, patient ---- to answer all the questions and ready for a test drive. Since we were trading in a '97 Jetta TDi sedan we knew the old car and were pleased with the updated version which was sooooo quiet for a diesel. VW has made great improvements.Price discussions, a second visit and then the pick up all went smoothly and on time. The service person we spoke with, business manager and phone receptionist were great. I even got a call back from the receptionist about paper work I had faxed over in just a few minutes.Since I had shopped around I knew the price was OK and other dealers didn't have the model or color we wanted. Dave and Albert went out of their way to make sure we got what we wanted - when we wanted at an acceptable price.Visiting with David and Albert will be our first stop when looking for our next new car.Bob and Cindy

I went to Langan VW one week ago, shopping for a Beetle. Little did I know that, 6 hours later, Alex Cardona would have me driving out in my New Beetle Fender Edition with a smile on my face as big as the customer service that Alex gave me. From the minute Alex greeted me with his friendly, unassuming yet knowledgeable manner, I felt as if I was his only concern that day. He navigated me through what seemed like a million different options for my purchase: leftover 2012 or 2013? Turbo or not? Buy or lease? Is adding a decorative fin on the back of a non-turbo a possibility? And finally, what did the Fender Edition offer that a regular turbo did not? With each new scenario, Alex re-priced out options as we put together a deal that worked for me. Alex's passion for Volkswagens, and cars in general, made the purchase a thoroughly pleasurable experience. In addition, he is one of the best LISTENERS I have ever met. I can honestly say that I did the majority of the talking, and he responded with all the information I needed. Once we agreed on a lease that resulted in surprisingly low payments, Alex made it possible for me to take the car that day. He actually cleaned and prepped the car himself! If you are considering a VW purchase, I highly recommend a visit to Alex Cardona. He will not disappoint!

My experience with Langan started positively from the start, upon meeting Al. He was courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. He worked with me on several options, and the end result was my entering a lease agreement on a new 2013 Jetta SE for a price I found to be very reasonable. Dave J. was extremely helpful and attentive to my needs to find a practical car but with the features I wanted and within my budget. This dealership is ridiculous. I started car shopping on a Monday and the salesman, Albert told me everything that I wanted to hear. I was interested in a jetta se with convenience. They didn't "have any" so I test drove a jetta se with convenience with the sunroof. It had an awesome touchscreen radio in the car which I repeatedly asked "is this radio in the car that I want." Albert said numerous times, "oh yes the only difference is the sunroof." I purchased the car on a Wednesday and returned it before I left the dealership. He mislead me on the whole thing and then when I confronted him he lied again. The sales manager, Dave, was very apologetic but that didn't make up for it. He said he could give me the car I wanted but I'd have to wait 90 days.... And he wouldn't put it in writing, I had to take his word for it. BS BS BSI was beyond appalled at everything that went on in the langan dealership. I don't know how any company could treat there customers the way they treated me. I would never ever do any business with that dealership name.

I have purchased for Volkswagens dealership in Meriden. I have dealt mostly with Dave Jillian. Dave has always look out for my best interest. I recentl dealt with big Al and he was a quality guy as well. Their service dpt is always accommodating. I would highly recommend Langan Volkswagen to all my friends. to to excellence......Mark K

The new car buying experience was great. Attentive and friendly, David and Albert did a great job walking my wife through all of her options until she was certain that the EOS Lux was the perfect choice. When we sat down to discuss finances they were open and straightforward about the pricing, trade-in options, warranties, etc.We had a great time; we learned a lot; we left with a great deal.If only all major purchases could go this swimmingly!

Went to the dealership to look at new and used Tiguans. Came out with a great price for a new 2012 with 0% APR. Albert was amazing at getting a great price and believe me I have shopped around. Albert also got me the color I wanted which was hard to get at other dealerships in CT. I drove from Fairfield County to Meriden just because Langan is a great dealership. Thank you Albert for all your help. I really appreciate it. You made buying a car worry and hassle free.

My wife and I visited the dealership with intent only of looking. We met Al Gibson soon as we walked in. Al remembered talking to me the day before when I explained what I was looking for in a vehicle. Actually he knew better than I what I needed. Al was courteous, helpful and very informative and understanding what we needed.I was looking at a different model but soon realized was not what I wanted. Al was not pushy and directed us to the 2012 Beetle which we immediately realized was our perfect car. I was concerned with cargo space and surprisingly found the Beetle just right for our needs. Was not even necessary to take the traditional test drive we knew it was right. Al answered all our questions and was super helpful. We love driving the new Beetle and are delighted with it. Ive bought a lot of cars in my lifetime and this is the best experience and easiest experience Ive ever had in buying a car. I decided on Volkswagen because family members have had them and have found Volkswagen to be the most dependable. I received wonderful service from everyone involved in this sale. I admit I do get a little nervous making such decisions but because of the knowledgeable sales team I felt right at ease from the moment I started this transaction. I cant say enough good things about Langan Volkswagen in Meriden, Ct. I will definitely deal with them in the future.

Engaging sales approach without being aggressive or pushy. All numbers were disclosed up front and discussed honestly. Staff was diligent in providing a competitive price and met our cost expectations on both the new car price and the trade in value. Our sales associate Al Gibson was personable and professional and I will be back at Langan when it's time for our next car. We visited 3 VW dealers in the area and Langan exceeded all others in terms of helpfulness, honesty and negotiating flexibility.

I bought my VW Passat there 9 years ago and have been going back to them for almost all my service needs. Great service, very friendly, helpful (e.g shuttle service) and reasonably priced. I brought my car there for the 80.000 miles service a few months ago and afterwards one of the o-rings that was replaced as part of the service suddenly leaked. Maybe coincidence, maybe mistake by mechanic. They fixed it for free (warranty on service work) I'll keep coming back and recommending them. And hope to buy another car from them in a few years.

To go back that many times proves how much I think of this establishment.They are always extremely courteous & helpful. They know there cars very well & have always taken the time to explain the cars features thoroughly before I leave the lot. A completely satisfying car buying experience each time, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

This VW dealership is Outstanding!I cannot say enough good things about the sales & service team at this location.I live 45 mins away but travel here to have my cars maintained & for any service needs.They go above & beyond the call of service. Wayne, Paulo, Dave & Sean are the BEST in Service. I would never bring my car anywhere else because of them.They should be rewarded for their excellent service.

Terrible experience. Saw a car I was interested in and went to go talk to them about it. The first night I showed up I waited quite a while when Dave was supposed to be driving my current car and assessing it for trade. He never got around to driving it, so I provided them with my info and said I would talk to them tomorrow. In the meantime, they would see if I could get approved for a loan and what the APR would be and they would tell me what I could get for my trade (the one that was never even looked at). I tell them to please contact me after 5 as I am working. They called several times prior despite my advisement. Rather than call back, I decided to go over in person, as they are right down the street from my work. I was offered the exact amount that I owed for my current vehicle, which was waaaaaay under market value and a very convenient number, seeing as how I had decided to be honest, and tell them what I owed (big mistake). So how very coincidental that the number that comes back for my trade is exactly what I owe on it. I point this out and explain how that number is rather insulting, and that I could not accept it. Instead of counter-offering or explaining where that number came from, the manager Dave speaks to me rather abraisively and tells me that I need to stop reading guides online as to what to say and not to say at car dealerships. Tells me he does not want my car and that it isnt worth anything to him. He tells me I don't know what I am talking about and to sell it elsewhere. Please bear in mind my car is a 2010 in near perfect condition. Next I talk to Candy in the credit department (who was awesome btw) and she pulls out "my offer." Funny thing is, I had never actually made an offer on the car. I simply wanted to know what my rate would be for a loan and what the number was on my trade in. Dave had took $199 off the asking price and submitted an offer for me. Really? A dealer makes an offer on his own car without asking me, talking to me, consenting... Nothing. Who does this??? I am absolutely disgusted with the way this dealership handled its customers and its business. I will NEVER recommend them to ANYONE. I was ready to put cash down, seal the deal and drive out the next day. No negotiations were offered... Let alone conversation. Thanks for the $199 off. Thanks for not counter-offering my trade... Perhaps a compromise or meeting in the middle for numbers. Thanks for telling me that the only thing I know about buying a car as a single, little, female, I MUST have read online. I only wanted $500 off sticker and that is apparently WAY too much. I hope you get stuck with the car and eat the price. Completely unprofessional in every way. Customer has NO value at Langan VW of Meriden.

about 2 years ago I took my 2002 passat to Langen of Meriden for a problem with the elgin oil. I paid for a very expensive repair. when i got the car back there was a grinding noise at engine idle. I took the car back and was told that I had to replace the oil cooler. Another $ 1,000.00 repair. I found it odd that the service dept just repaired some engine oil issues and now a part in the same system is broken. When I inquired Paolo told me (before the car was looked at ) that there was no way it was Langens fault. Te conversation did not go well. I was not happy with the way this was handled. Paolo was completely out of line. I will never go back there. I noticed that within a 3 month period very close to the date of this review there were 5 positive reviews. I hope they improved since my visit.

This was simply the best experience I have ever had in buying a car. Only the Langan dealership in Glastonbury comes close. Everyone, including the owner, worked really hard to get my deal closed in a short period of time on a Friday afternoon. In my opinion they all went way beyond what I would expect from a dealership. They were all friendly, knowledgeable and diligent. It was a real pleasure working with such professionals.

The entire crew was great. First time I visited Ron provided great details on the car. Jeff was great to work with as well as Dave. They gave me a great price and accomondated my needs and requests. Candy made the paper process seem easy.
