I have enjoyed my visit. Sales person was nice and helpful. I will give it 3 stars because they tricked me with online price. Monthly payment was promoted as 600 but ended up with 800. I could accept 10% error but not 30%. Although car I liked the car and experience I don’t think it’s fair. If you display the price online you should match it! I will give you five stars as soon as I get that vehicle for that price.

Every time I emailed it took days to get an answer back so by the time I got closer to buying a car they sold it to someone else it should have only taken days but I was trying to get this done and it took weeks with little progress the only good thing they had the car but they need to get their act together

This is the fourth or fifth VW Jetta I've leased or bought from Luther Westside. Selection is good, the leasing process fun (never high-pressure), and the service is superb. I've been going to Luther for seventeen years, and the service is consistently good. Drop-in service is quick and cheerful, and maintenance visits are done efficiently and in accord with my schedule. I can't recommend Luther too highly!

This was my first experience with Luther Westside Volkswagen. My Jetta needed an oil change, that was it, but the service was far from just handing over the keys to some guy who pulled it into the bay and vacuumed out the inside. The valet was respectful, the preservice conversation was thorough and informative. During my wait, there was a fresh newspaper to browse and 2x during the wait a conversation was had about the status of the service. Those conversations informed me of a recall on my car that I was unaware of and full of information for me to make decisions. I felt no pressure from the technician, with the old "you need to have this done right now" that I've had from other shops. The car was washed and I was on my way. Thanks LWVW!

A bad experience at my local VW brought me to driving the 160 miles to Westside and then needing a new battery two weeks later brought me to the dealer in Duluth. After a short talk with Rick in service at Westside everything was good. I will always go to them for everything! The drive for me is well worth it

My recent experience at Luther Westside VW was excellent! I had my engine go out on my Passat in early May 2016 and had it towed to Luther Westside for service. Rick Tedesco was my Service Advisor. Rick informed me of all pertinent information and told me they would run some diagnostics on the vehicle and get back to me. The next day Rick called me back with some bad news that my engine would either need replacement or require a fairly substantial "rebuild." At this point, Rick contacted my third party extended warranty company (Royal Administration Services) to submit a claim. After the claim was submitted, the process became a test of Rick's patience - the warranty process included 2 different on-site inspections, dozens of calls back & forth, and discrepancies on parts & labor estimates. Rick did a great job handling this highly unprofessional organization. The process took over a month and still resulted in the warranty company denying a portion of my claim, which caused me to have to pay a substantial portion of the bill on my own. Knowing this, Rick worked hard to try and get the cost of the repair down as low as he could. I truly appreciate Rick's compassion, knowledge, and positive attitude throughout this process. He turned an extremely unpleasant process into a tolerable one. When I had questions, Rick was there to answer them to help me understand some of the more complicated mechanical issues going on inside my car's engine. ALL IN ALL - working with Rick Tedesco and Luther Westside WV was a highly positive and memorable experience. I will be bringing all future repairs on my automobiles to them. (Side note: do your research before buying a third party warrant - check reviews, BBB, consumer watch websites, etc....and be sure to stay away from Royal Administration Services - 51 Mill St, Hanover, MA 02339 )

I recently purchased a 2015 VW Jetta from Luther Westside VW and over the Christmas break drove 1200 miles to Texas to visit friends. On the way back from Texas, my check engine light went on, and Westside immediately accommodated me without an appointment. After less than an hour, I learned that the light came on because I had driven through deep snow in Iowa, and there was a big plug of snow lodged under my front bumper, interfering with the function of the ventilation system. The car was fixed at no charge, and was washed and returned to me with advice on how bust to prevent a recurrence. Thank you Westside for once again exceeding my expectations!

I bought my Jetta at this dealership and just went in for my first oil change, tire rotation and inspection. I bought two license plate covers for $30.00 each and they never fit right as the screws were too short. Eventually I lost two of the screws and the fancy screw covers. The dealership stood behind their product and fixed the covers at no charge to me. I would highly recommend this dealership for all of your VW needs - from buying to maintenance.

Helton helped me order a 2016 GTI Performance Package with very specific delivery instructions: No drilling for the front license plate, and absolutely no dealer cleaning/prep. This was a risk for the dealer as they were delivering me a car that wasn't up to their standards of cleanliness, but Helton made sure it wasn't touched. On top of this he responded to every email extremely quickly and continually updated me on build times and delivery. Great experience overall; and I'm loving the car!

All communications were honest, the salesman knew the car inside and out and the dealer sold me the car at a fair value (no markup) considering other dealers were marking the car up. Initially I was nervous about purchasing a car out of state (sight unseen) but after speaking with Helton I felt more and more comfortable. He answered all of my questions and was never pushy. He even answered questions I didn't think to ask. I was most impressed during one phone conversation when he told me he had gone out to sit in the car to see if it's prior owner had been a smoker. I would have never thought to ask this but it would have made a huge difference in our satisfaction if this had been overlooked. Brain Hahs walked me through all of the paperwork and quickly responded to any questions I had. They handled setting up shipping and it was easy and smooth. We even got our car ahead of schedule!! We have received the car and could not be more pleased. It is exactly as described and is in amazing condition. Even though we are several states away I would definitely trust this team with any future car purchases.

My husband and I drove a total of 8 hours to get a great deal from a very professional salesperson, Helton Cerqueira. We arrived during rush hour late on a Friday afternoon. Helton knew what car we were looking for and he knew we were serious about purchasing. He had the car we were interested in cleaned up inside and out, filled with gas and ready to go in the event we would purchase it when we arrived. The entire experience took about 2 hours which included trading in our old vehicle. Helton's personal touch, professionalism, and knowledge of the product was extremely refreshing. Every phone call and email was returned in prompt fashion. We felt like we could go out for dinner and maybe for a bike ride with him one day if we lived closer - just an awesome guy who does his job extremely well. We recently bought a new 2015 Jetta SE at your dealership. Our salesperson was Maura Broucek and she was extremely helpful and pleasant. You know how once in a great while you have one of the most amazing customer service experiences imaginable? Well, yeah - I just had one of those. I won't go into detail (it's a long story), but Westside Volkswagon has really come through for me. Especially the General Manager, Steve. He took the time to listen to me, put himself in my shoes, and made a commitment to "right" an unfortunate situation - an unfortunate situation that was of no fault of the dealership or anyone working there. Steve pulled together a team of equally awesome individuals (Tami, Helton, Brian and Craig) to turn my very unfortunate situation into an exciting one. Each one of these employees displayed qualities of integrity, compassion and fairness. At no point in time did I feel like I was "on the other side of the table". Bought a used 2012 Tiguan from this dealership. I am completely new to the car buying process but Helton made the process as easy as picking up groceries. After asking a few questions, he listed all the vehicles available in the inventory that suits my needs and went through the pros and cons of getting them. There was no sales pressure at all on getting a more expensive car or closing the deal immediately. In fact he even suggested that getting a Golf would be more than adequate for me although Tiguan with AWD handles Minnesota snow better. Eventually I decided on a certified pre-owned Tiguan because I do not have much confidence in my driving and the price of the car was even lower than used Tiguans with lower specs and more miles from other dealerships. On the day of purchase, I took an hour to bike to the dealership (took a lot of detours) but forgot to bring my check book. Helton was nice enough to have someone drive me home in an SUV with my bike and took me back to the dealership to complete the purchase. Then he carefully went over the controls and tips for driving, which gave a new driver like me a lot of confidence to drive it home. Helton was very honest and thoughtful. I am very happy with the car and I would strongly recommend talking to Helton if you need to find a good deal on a car that suit your needs.

I was worried that the price would change when I arrived to pick it up but everything was on the up and up. Bobby was great to work with and the trip for St. Louis to get this terrific car was well worth the effort. After having looked at Luther Westside Volkswagen used inventory; I knew my heart was either going to be set on a Prius or a Jeep. Quite the extremes in miles per gallon. After a quick test drive, in the 2011 Jeep Liberty (Jet Edition)-that had only come in from a purchase 10 days prior; I knew I had to have it (I love Jeeps what can I say). This one was fully loaded and the price just couldn't be better. My salesman Bobby Scala couldn't have been more helpful, patient, and accommodating. The only thing I'm waiting on is the duplicate key to arrive from the previous owner. Other than that things went very quick and slick, and I didn't feel pressured into anything I wasn't comfortable with by any of the staff.

I worked with Helton a year ago and he was very responsive and fair throughout the entire buying process. I initially purchased a Mazda 3 however after taking it home decided it wasn't the right car. I utilized the return policy and got a Passat 1.8T. I have loved this car and the deanship made the exchange flawlessly. Recently purchased a Mazda CX5 from this dealership. I personally hate car shopping because most sales people are just working to get their commission, this experience was very different. Helton wanted to make sure the car would work for me. He was very understanding with my silly questions and gave me a great "dad" speech about not loosing or laundering my new keys (I've never had keyless entry before) that didn't make me feel like he was talking down to me, instead it simply felt like he cared and wanted to ensure I had a good experience. He stayed late to help me finish my sale and even helped set up my phone into the cars system! I almost hate recommending him to others, because then he might be busy the next time I go to buy a car, but you truly should stop by to see what they have to offer and work with this great employee! Elton was referred to us by a family member while we were visiting in Minneapolis.. We talked first by phone and he immediately sent an email with links to those vehicles that met our needs. We did a test drive that afternoon, reached an agreement on Friday, and picked up our vehicle Saturday morning.Not only was Elton very attentive to us during this process; but, he continued to be following the sale as we had to leave for home, with a couple of items that still needed to be addressed. The entire sale has now been concluded to our complete satisfaction.In the future, if we are going to purchase another VW, we would travel to Minneapolis to work with Elton again.

My radio stopped working and my windshield had some hail damage. A replacement radio was ordered as soon as they verified that that was the issue and arrived on time. I was connected with an auto glass company at the same appointment and was able to set up an appointment to have it replaced. It was very easy to work with the service department and I will gladly continue bringing my Jetta into Luther Westside!

Had a issue with the used car I bought. It was 4 days after the 30 day warranty had expired, but Bobby authorized the service dept to take care of the repair free of charge, saving me possibly thousands of dollars. Would buy from again!

I took my 70yr old father in law in to buy a truck as a celebration of his 1yr anniversary for his triple bypass heart surgery. We test drove a truck late on Monday night. Noted the few issues with the truck, and then called back on Tuesday to work out a deal. The truck needed a new side molding, emblem on the front, and has seeping from the transmission lines (which a is known issue for the Chevy Avalanche we were looking at).I spoke with Bobby told him we needed those three things fixed and we would purchase the car at their asking price. He told me he needed to make sure he could do all of that and needed to check with his manager. He called me back 3 hours later and said he could do all three. He said he would get the truck to service right away so they could start working on the transmission lines. I told him I would appreciate it if they could replace the transmission lines before we take possession later that day and he said there were a few other car in line already, but he would do his best to get it in right away.I let him know we have a deal and I would pick up my father in law and bring him to come fill out paperwork. I left work early and picked up my father in law. When we got there we had to wait a few minutes and as we waited I saw the truck (with Bobby driving) come blasting out of the service garage and pull around the building. Bobby came in and in typical sleezeball salesman deceptive language said "great news! the transmission line are just fine so we don't need to fix them", as if we would just say "oh great news thanks for letting us know"----I told him they were seeping and that is know issue with that truck and HE HAD ALREADY AGREED TO FIX THEM.....he kept trying to give excuses about why they wouldn't and how they are fine and that there was just a little leak but they wiped it up and now its perfect.......after an unbelievable round and round and his COMPLETE refusal to acknowledge that he had agreed to fix the problem and was now re-nigging on the deal, he said he would grab his manager....***please note ***replacing the transmission lines costs about $300 and I had already said it was a necessary part of the deal and he had agreed to that....he is now trying to argue why there is no reason to replace the lines yet because they didn't consider them to be "failed" even though the "level" of severity on the problem was never discussed by them as a factor in whether they would or would not replace them.......He got his manager who was a stereotypical used car salesman who suggested we put the truck on a hoist to look at the transmission lines, I told him they just told me they wiped them down and cleaned them so of coarse we wouldn't see anything........again- avoid the FACT that they promised they would replace them as a part of the deal we agreed to.......after a few minutes of going back and forth with this idiot he said "how about I take $100 off the price"----which clearly he was to much of a xxxxxxx to understand that offering me 1/3 of what his salesperson PROMISED me originally was actually insulting. I left at that point because I could not deal with the classless people there.I called to speak with the GM Steve thinking he would care about the bait and switch sales tactics at his dealership. Explained the situation to him. Explained that OUT OF PRINCIPLE I would not buy the car because I had been lied to and jerked around over what would have cost them $150....so IF there was anyway that I would possibly still consider buying the car from them they would need to MORE than make up for all the anguish they had put me through and time they had wasted.Steve called me back and said they would take $300 off the price of the Truck---we are now back to even on what they originally promised----what a JOKE!I let him know that was not even in the ballpark.I had one other experience a few years ago where my wife bought an Audi there...we drove it one day and there was an issue with the gas sensor...we brought it back and they gave a bunch of excuses about why it would be ok and we should just give it a few days (THEY HAVE A 5 DAY RETURN POLICY). They wanted us to go past the return policy and then we would have been stuck. We returned that car.This dealership sells cars that are in poor mechanical condition and they do not stand behind what they offer. They are kings of excuses as to why they don't honor what they originally tell you. BEWARE anyone who thinks of buying a car from these clowns.

Bobby was a great sales guy. I am younger and he treated me with respect and fairly. He was never rude, very understanding, and did whatever he could for me/ my car without hesitation. They want to make sure you leave the dealership happy. And bobby did that. I would recommend him in a heart beat.

Delivery of message is important, for I have been in the service industry managing for 28 years. Instead of saying "we are NOT going to fix your car because the bearing is 70 percent". it could have been said like this "Jackie your bearings are still good and have 70 percent left on them, so at this time it is not necessary to fix and it is very safe, that's the thump noise you hear. I was disappointed being that I've driven by Luther thousands of times and never thought about to stop thinking that it was a high end dealership. The main reason I did come in there was because of a friend referring me to look for used cars there.and I decided to take a chance. Also, I was not greeted immediately or at all and I had to go up to a gentleman and speak to him first and tell him I have a service appointment. But the young lady that took me home and picked me up and the cashiers were very friendly. I hope this is considered and thank you for fixing my headrest. I will put "YES" to recommending this service center because I'm hoping this was a hiccup.P.S. Jim Southwell is awesome!

She possesses just the right combination knowledge, experience, and friendliness to make a car buying experience a positive one. Originally I went to the dealership because my boyfriend was looking for a car, at the time I absolutely hated my car that I had just bought a few months prior (Chevrolet Malibu), I saw the Tiguans and so we looked at them and the sales lady he was working with (Gervona Lynn) let us test drive any one that we wanted. We test drove 6 Tiguans before I decided which trim level I wanted. Super nice and no pressure customer service. I will purchase all of my next vehicles from this dealer. Gervona is an amazing person!

We spotted a car online that we thought would meet our needs and budget. We walked through the door for a test drive at 1:45 and walked out with the keys at 4. Rich was helpful and didn't try to talk us into buying new or buying more car than we needed. He made sure our phones were connected and we knew how to use all the bells and whistles before we left.

Wow, I'm amazed to see this many good reviews on here. I wanted to buy a used car from Luther, but apparently they do business in a place and time when the internet does not exist? They're using sales tactics that should have been shown the door close to 10-15 years ago. Everything is, "let me check with the manager" style of buying a car and it just wears you down. I was there for over 2 hours before I had my trade-in looked at, and once they looked at it I was completely low-balled. At which point I pulled out my trusty print outs of my car's value from KBB.com, and said, "this is my number" when pointing at them. Which they claimed they could not meet after having several "manager" conversations and told me I was reading the KBB print out wrong. So I left and went to another dealership and was in and out in about an hour and a half with a new car and the full KBB value of my trade.My advice would be to avoid their antiquated buying process and save yourself a little time by going somewhere else.

When I was trying to find a lease I called 7 dealerships to give myself options. I explained to every dealer that I am just graduating college and I have never had a car loan. Almost all of these dealerships disregarded my interest and would not take me seriously. Then I called Luther Westside Volkswagen and I spoke with Brad. He was willing to help walk me through every step from deciding what accessories I wanted to explaining every feature of the car. He also helped explain how I could get pre-approved on their website, helped me price out monthly payments with different cash down payment amounts, helped me understand what I was going to need in order to leave the dealership with a car. Literally helped me with everything! I would definitely encourage anyone looking to lease or purchase for the first time to go to Brad at Luther Westside Volkswagen.The one thing that stuck out the most to me through my leasing process was that Brad never pushed me into getting something I didn't want or couldn't afford, but instead he worked with me to find me exactly what I wanted, not just what was the best business. He still has continued to answer my questions as they have came up after I already have my car and followed up with me to make sure I loved my purchase!

Our relationship with Westside started in 2005, my wife was looking for an AudiTT. They had the best price on a great used one, best in town. Buying experience was great. We still have the AudiTT and have bought two Jeeps, two CLK's, from them over the years. Still have one Jeep and yesterday bought a very nice Audi S5 controvertible. The point is that over the years they have always been there with any problems to be fixed, and have good price points on their cars. Gervona Lynn was just a super nice sales person this last time, not just with the paper work but setting up the Bluetooth etc. in the car. When you have such nice service over so many years, it's not by accident, it's how they run their shop. I tell anyone they are the place to go.

We went to other dealerships and looked at other cars to make sure we chose the right one, but Luther Westside was by far the most helpful and nicest. I recently decided it was time to get something different. After reading every review I could find and quite literally memorizing the sales brochure, I knew that Volkswagen's new GTI was going to be my next car. I purchased a car from Westside VW in the past and had such a great experience it only seemed natural to go back. Upon arrival, I was greeted promptly by someone at the front desk and introduced to a sales person without delay. I knew that I didn't just want any GTI but rather a very specific combination of color and options. Unfortunately the exact car wasn't available at Westside. There was one on the lot that came close but it had some issues after being used as a display vehicle at a recent event. While it was temping to compromise and close the deal, I decided I wanted the car to be exactly right. I asked my salesperson to investigate the possibility of having a car brought in from another dealership.The sales person left the room and reappeared a few minutes later. When he returned I was given the bad news: there weren't any cars like I wanted in the entire region. I accepted the fact my exact car was not possible and chose to compromise a little on exterior color. The sales person left again and reappeared with more bad news: there was a car that fit the new criteria but it was far away and not a realistic possibility. Our conversation seemed to keep finding its way back to the car on Westside's lot which I maintained I did not want. At this point I thought it best to table the conversation so I could take some time to think the situation over. The following morning I decided investigate whether or not certain variations of the GTI are as rare as was portrayed at Westside the night before. Within minutes on Cars.com I found a matching car listed under a different dealership. I could hardly believe it! I called that dealership immediately and they confirmed that the car was on their lot. I later found another example at another local dealership. Needless to say I did get the car I wanted but it was not purchased at Westside. As I called around I asked why these cars were not showing up in Volkswagen's inventory system. Multiple people reported that because the GTI is such a hot seller, dealerships just aren't willing to give them up in a trade with another dealership. Rather than risk a lost sale, some sales people simply tell their customers the cars don't exist. I confirmed both cars mentioned above as well as a third matching, locally-available GTI were visible in the system at the time of my visit to Westside. To anyone at Westside reading this review:How unfortunate that your dealership go from doing such an impressive job with my past purchase only to be caught in such dishonesty today. I recognize that losing a sale is not good for a business driven to some extent by sales. Think about this though: had the sales person been up-front with me with the whole 'GTI trade embargo' I would have more than likely bought the car elsewhere but would have been happy to have made Westside my go-to for maintenance, repairs, and accessories. I went and bought my car else where anyway but since your sales person was not honest with me, I will not be bringing my new GTI to Westside for service nor will I be purchasing any accessories there. That business is now going to the dealership that was honest and respectful of my wishes.

I had a great experience at Luther Westside. This was my very first purchase of a car in the US, and even though I was very confused at first, Helton made it easy for me. He was very patient and kind, and showed me several cars. Also, he went through all the options and help me made a decision that was best for me. It was a fantastic experience.

I hadn't bought a car in years and was a little anxious. I had let the salesman, Brian Sommer, know I was coming in Friday to purchase the Tiguan I had test driven. Not only did he have car detailed and gassed up, he also made sure it had all its keys and manual. I showed up and he already has my paperwork started. I traded in a car and the value was very fair and on the money for what Kelley Blue book had it at. The business manager, Angela, was very friendly, professional and didn't try to sell me something I didn't want or need. Brian spent a good twenty minutes completely walking me through the car and how everything worked. He even set up my Bluetooth for me! I will be recommending Westside VW and Brian to all my family and friends. It was such a wonderful experience!

I walked up to the dealership and was immediately greeted by Helton. He informed me the car I was looking for had sold, but was more than willing to help me find another option. He came up with a handful all while being incredibly friendly. I also dealt with the used car sales manager, Chris Palmer. Both were extreme gentlemen, polite, friendly, and I could not have been happier with my car buying experience. Every other dealer was stressful, Westside was a dream. A+ I will come here first every time I need a new car now.

Jim Southwell is the sales guy to see. I was selling my 3 Series 2 door sports car BMW that wasn't gonna fit my recent marriage. Needed a 4 door practical fun car. Jim helped me try out a fully loaded CPO GTI he had an I almost immediately fell in love. We spent a lot of the time talking cars, and exchanged hobbies etc. All around good guy. When my wife showed up later to see it, he then washed her car for her as well! Small thing, but really nice. I have visited multiple times, one for service, another to test drive and once just to say hi and show him the current upgrades I had done. I plan to buy my next car from him. Also, my recent service appointment was nice as well. No complaints.

I contracted Vince via the cars.com web site. I got a reply in the morning. I sent in pics of my trade and the vin off my trade. The response was really fast. I contacted 5 other dealers in the same day. Very few responded as fast. These guys were fast and the cost was perfect. They gave me what I wanted on the trade and the deal was closed quickly and efficiently. My hat is off to Vince the sales guy and the whole team. Fair price, fair trade value, fast service = happy client!

My most recent visit (2/17/15) left me wondering - once again - why do I ever bother to take my Passat to this dealership. I've been going to Luther on and off for 7 years and this will be the last time. Simply put, the overall culture of this dealership has always been one of that we 'owe' them the business and they are doing us a favor. This last time, I needed a bulb replacement for a break light. I had my two small children with me on their day off from school (and my day off from work) - and so I had asked to wait and they said it would be about an hour. At 2hrs 45 minutes I finally heard an announcement and when I approached the counter they woman said "oh, I'm glad we finally found you" ... as if they had been paging me for ages. I had not left the showroom for one minute - not even to the bathroom - so please don't suggest otherwise. Then that woman was too busy, so she handed me off to another woman who could do nothing but ask for my money. No "how was your experience', no 'was everything to your satisfaction' ... in fact, they were also supposed to check a code on a check engine light so when I asked what the result was her only response was "oh, no one spoke with you?". So she then actually took the time to look at the paperwork and saw that my 'representative' was no longer in the building and went and got another service rep. Then HE came out, look at the paperwork and said; "so, what have they told you about the engine light?". Good lord, is this a well choreographed joke? And after all this - they charged me $50 for a lightbulb replacement. My wife had similar work done on her Hyundai last month at a Jiffy Lube for $16. So once again, I ask myself - why did I ever bother going here in the first place? I only blame myself ...

Helton treated me with respect, but was in no way patronizing. He was very up-front and honest, explaining exactly how Westside's pricing and sales process works. I have bought many cars, new and used, in the last 30 years, from dealers and individuals, and Helton provided me with by far my best car-buying experience. We had a very calm, laid back, easy experience at Luther Westside VW. Working with Maura was such a pleasure. Helton was very attentive and I appreciated how observant he was. I like when representatives are observant and remember what you had told them in your earlier conversations. This shows they are striving to provide excellent service and make the process more personable. I love my new car and am completely satisfied with the purchase. The only thing I wish Westside would do is offer a maintenance package for purchase. The limited warranty is nice but a coworker bought a Ford Escape and for $800, all his maintenance is covered completely for the length of his loan. It is an investment I would rather make than extending the limited warranty for 8 years. The Passat is fantastic value for the price. I hope the service department will be this good too.

This was my first service. It was easy to make an appointment online and convenient times were available. I waited for the car. The service was performed promptly. The waiting area was the largest, cleanest and most equipped of any I have seen. When the car was ready, the technician brought me the paperwork, explained what was done and answered questions. I do not know the full name of the technician that performed this excellent service but his first name is Rob. I was extremely happy with the service I received.

I met the staff and Jim Southwell (Sales Associate) - ask for Jim, he's top-quality and works hard to ensure a comfortable and honest buying experience - and I purchased a vehicle in 2007 and returned in 2009 and again purchased another in 2014 - asked for Jim each time, and had flawless transactions. Luther Westside carries above-average, clean, used vehicles at competitive prices, but so do other places...what persuaded me to buy from Luther Westside was: 1. Jim's calm, informational approach to the sale, and only promising what could be delivered.2. This is a great dealer. Great experience. Love the car. I visited 4 other dealers before finding this dealership on recommendation from a co-worker. Glad I found it as I got a fair deal on my trade-in and a great vehicle with a super warranty. First time in a no-haggle environment, kind of a strange experience, but takes a lot of the pressure out of buying a car. I feel the price was decent for what I received. Would recommend this shop to anyone. Prompt email returns from Jim Southwell, what a great employee. I would probably give this guy a raise ;)Also an honorable mention to Tom Daly. This is a great, honest, fair guy here. He is their used car manager and know his stuff. They were extremely helpful and in my corner when it came to pricing for the repair I brought my car in for.. They also went out of their way to fix things that I didn't even bring the car in for. I had issues with opening my drivers side door, but never told them about it. They never mentioned it but when I got my car back the drivers door opened smoothly. They went out of their way to fix things, without charging me or mentioning it.

I just purchased a Jetta from LutherVW this past weekend. Brian my car guy was fabulous, he let me talk through what I wanted and never pressured me or made me uncomfortable. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and family. The only quirky thing I didn't care for as much was the finance guy, he was a bit odd and rushed me through the paperwork. I wish he would have taken a few extra minutes to review the details. Overall that would not deter me from referring anyone to VW. ? and thanks!

I love my new Jetta! I worked with Michele Pogue who is a fantastic person and sales person. She found the car I was wanting and was very thorough explaining everything about the car and was able to give me the best deal I was looking for. I have dealt with Westside several times in the past, this purchase was to upgrade my 2004 jetta, which has over 200,000 miles that I also purchased at Westside. It ran so well, never any problems, they are essentially rust free with the two coats of nickel on the bottom. People could not believe it was an 04' and has that many miles. I am a dedicated volkswagon driver and look forward to sharing my story regarding my personal experience with this dealership, Michele, and the vehicles that are awesome! Love my new white jetta!! When I got into my accident a little over a month ago (in a car that wasn't a VW) I never thought I would be at a Volkswagen Beetle dealership. I just went to look at Beetles Rich met me in the parking lot and showed me the HERBIE Beetle on the lot. It was a Tuesday evening and planned to visit a couple more dealerships the next day. When I went to test drive other vehicles I told my wife that if I found something that made me as giddy as the VW Beetle did I would purchase it.... Well I didn't find anything. We went back to VW and I test drove the HERBIE Beetle again, I was in LOVE with it. It fit me and my personality and Rich was great with us and making sure it was all that I wanted. I have wanted one of these since the late 70's (my mom was very happy that I got the car of my childhood) and now I have one Thank you Rich.

I bought a vehicle from this dealership couple of weeks back and worked with Doug Karnuth. I was told the vehicle has been serviced and good to go. There were few issues that I identified and Doug agreed to take care of those. The driver side view mirror was broken and he replaced it. After driving the vehicle home, I noticed the driver side mirror was shaking while driving. I told Doug and he asked me to talk to Service. When I took the vehicle to service they ordered the part and it took almost 2 weeks to just get the mirror. In this mean time I called Doug and he refused to answer my call that he is very busy with sales and cant talk to me. It even got to a point where he was shouting that dont ask me about the part and talk to Parts department. And the Parts department kept asking me to talk to your sales person. This was horrible experience. All he needed to do was just follow up on the part and get the service scheduled. I appreciate Rick from service stepping in and taking care of what Doug was supposed to do. Bottom line, I will never buy from this dealership EVER AGAIN!!

I had been waiting for the 2015 new models to arrive, replacing a 2000 TDi that treated us very well. When the date was announced I put down a deposit for the new car. That car was taking a long time to arrive so when a similar car became available (correct color, manual, next level options) Jim worked with us to move into that one instead of waiting it out for the one on order. We knew what we wanted and final got it. Everyone we worked with was fantastic. We never even saw the car until the day we arrived to pick it up, ready to go after a short period of paperwork. Jim was very responsive to my impatience and helped every step of the way. Looking forward to another 15 years with the new car.

Kader, was a cool, no pressure salesman who programmed my iPhone into the computer/radio while I was driving him back to the dealership. Love the CC(used '12) and when I came in for my first service Craig was very informative about a few things I didn't know(especially the importance of letting my CC idle for a few minutes after use). This is the best I've ever been treated in a car store.

Came in to check out the selection of Jetta's and on my second visit we bought a 2012 VW Jetta at a fair value price. Really like the large selection of certified cars to choose from. Worked with both Vince McDonald and Richard Larch and we couldn't be happier with the customer service we got from both of them. They were both super friendly and didn't pressure us into a sale. They were open to answering any questions we had and helped walk us through buying a used car. Highly recommend these two sales consultants!

I came in for my no cost 10,000 mile service and was told it would be 1 1/2 to 2 hours. At 2 hours, after the service people kept coming in to get other customers, I started to wonder if there was something wrong with the car. At 2:45, I went up to the counter to inquire and she said "Oh, it is done" They never came to tell me that it was finished. I was miffed at the waste of my time. When I got into my car to leave, it was very warm from the sun, I just wonder how long it was out there, finished and no one came to get me!

I went into Luther Westside just to see what they had for a good deal and two weeks later, I left with a VW Jetta that I am absolutely crazy about. My experience of buying from Luther Westside was positive from beginning to end. The sales personnel and finance personnel made the process both uncomplicated and swift. I received a short, very helpful training session on how to use my new vehicle and I was out of there. I have been completely satisfied with my purchase during this, my first week of traveling with my new car.

I brought my car to Luther Westside Volkswagen, they solved a coolant leak and also they changed the oil. Right after I took my car I realized one front light was not working (the light had been replaced less than 2 month ago). I asked them if they could replace without labor hand included, since I assume some degree of responsibility they must have on that. The response: No, we cannot assume that problem was originated here. I was not expecting such response, more even considering the overpriced that they charge.

A friend had suggested we check out Westside VW for a used Lexus. So we did. Although the car we were looking for wasn't on the lot, Jim Southwell did his own search of what was in the Luther inventory for the Twin Cities and found us several possibilities. Full disclosure of the car's condition, as much as can be known of a used car, was available and minor flaws were addressed without question. I was at the end of my lease with my 2012 VW Jetta. I stopped into the used car lot to see if they would buy it outright from VWCredit as opposed to me just turning it in and paying the fees associated. Earlier in the evening I stopped down at a different establishment and was appalled at the number they gave me. Their level of service was definitely sub-par. With that, I immediately drove up to Westside and when I got to the lot I walked in and was greeted by Bobby Scala. Very professional and courteous, he sat me down and we discussed what I wanted to do. Once he understood the situation he went to his sales mgr and they talked for a bit. Not more than three minutes later and he came back and stated "we will buy it outright for you today." My jaw literally hit the floor...I couldn't believe what I was hearing. What really stood out to me was one thing Bobby said to me, "...sometimes you just need to do what is right." The way Bobby handled the whole situation was done in a very professional manner. He was great to talk with and ultimately made me feel at ease. I appreciate everything that he and his sales mgr did for me that evening. You guys are really a class act. Thank you again, you made a customer for life.

I'm writing this review largely because I recently had a terrible experience at a different car dealership and it made me appreciate Luther so much more. I was initially taken aback by the no-negotiation price scheme, but in the end, I think it makes for a better experience for both the salesperson and the buyer, even if the dealership is able to take a bigger profit. Helton did a great job addressing my concerns and taking a look at the car before I came (I was coming from out of town), was open and honest about a problem he found and agreed to fix it before I arrived. Likewise, when a small part failed, soon after getting the car home, he arranged to have a new part mailed to me. It was a good experience and much better than so many other places.

She was excited, knowledgable, & very accommodating to make sure we knew everything before deciding on a car to purchase. This is the 4th VW Jetta I have purchased. I know what I love! I purchased number 3 in 2009 at Westside and my daughter was dying to buy it from me when I left for Germany for 18 months. When I returned home I knew I couldn't buy anything but another VW. After test driving another option I knew the Jetta sports wagon was still number 1 in my hands and heart. Although there were a few choices where to go I knew I had to go back to Luther Westside because I trusted them and they have been so friendly and have great customer service. Vince McDonald, my salesman, did a wonderful job of showing, test driving and selling a truck I had seen online. He was very helpful and provide all the documents I requested(carfax, service logs, inspection report). He worked with me on the price without being pushy. A nice positive attitude. After I got home, I discovered there was no instruction manual which is really necessary. Vince sent me one in a few days! I was a little disappointed that they wouldn't come down on the price of the car and wouldn't come up on the offer for my trade in, but we did like our salesperson Bobby Scala and would ask for him again if we ever need another vehicle. He did all the things he said he would do, and went a little above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience in the end. Very helpful in explaining all the ins and outs of the vehicle since we weren't familiar with it.

I am so pleased with the service I received at this dealership from all the staff and specifically Helton. He is very knowledgeable of the inventory at LWV and autos in general, yet personable and patient to listen to what your needs are and what vehicle would fit your needs. I was not completely satisfied with my first vehicle and when I vocalized this to Helton, he came in to the dealership on his day off to arrange for me to test drive and eventually exchange the purchased vehicle for one that I love. He was patient and considerate and did not make me feel uncomfortable or as if I was an inconvenience for wanting to exchange my car. Angie in the finance department was supportive of this decision as well and they helped me recognize I am a valued customer whether I am buying a $130,000 car or $10,000, it made no difference to them as long as I was a satisfied customer. On a recent Saturday, my wife and I stopped by Luther Westside VW to explore the possibility of trading in our 2005 Passat on something with lower miles. We were a little apprehensive on whether or not the 'numbers' would come together and fit within our budget, but figured we wouldn't know until we tried. Having worked with Michele Pogue in the past, I asked if she could help us. Even though Michele was already assisting two other customers, and I wouldn't have blamed her for turning us over to another salesperson, she graciously found a way to add us to her nearly full dance card. By the time we left the Business Office with financing arranged on the purchase of a used 2013 Jetta we had spent nearly three hours at the dealership! But during that time we test drove numerous vehicles, drank the free coffee and were, otherwise, treated like royalty (OK, that's may be a bit of a stretch). Honestly, the entire experience exceeded my expectations and I couldn't recommend Westside VW more highly than I did with all 'fives'. If you're in the market for a new or used Volkswagen, you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't visit Michele at Westside VW. You won't regret it!

From the moment I arrived on the lot, everyone was friendly, quickly willing to help and not pushy. Every employee was clean and very presentable. The salesman Helton demonstrated caring and followup without ever pushing. They were very accommodating for me to take the car to be checked by my own mechanic. The price was a bit high according to book but they had already updated the work which was needed. I am definitely pleased with my experience and my purchase.

I came into this dealership to purchase a used VW Golf. I test drove a manual Golf priced at under $13,000 and an automatic Golf priced at around $14,500. The manual was a 2010 and the automatic was a 2011. The dealer who helped me was Helton Cerqueira. He approached me when no other salesperson did, and they knew I was looking for help. He took the time to let me test drive both vehicles, even though they were closing at 6pm, and sit down at his desk and take some more time to think. He was not pushy at all. He helped me decide that the 2010 was a better choice for me because I very much prefer the feel of a manual. The only thing that I was hesitant about with the 2010 was that it was silver and I really wanted white, which is what the 2011 was. I ended up getting the 2010 Golf, which was certified, for under $13,000 before taxes. I am pleased to say that I am VERY happy with my purchase and the process in which to purchase. I was accepted for a reasonable loan with only a credit score of around 650. This dealership does NOT haggle with price. But I honestly could care less about that because the price I paid for this vehicle for the year, amount of miles, and certification was well under KBB value. I think this vehicle might have been on the lot for longer but I don't really care. I HIGHLY recommend Helton! My finance guy, Craig Erickson, was very nice as well but I did find him a bit pushy. He kept asking questions as to why I didn't want to go with the extended warranty on top of the 2-year certification warranty. That's the only issue I had with the process. I have already recommended this dealership to a few of my co-workers looking for vehicles. I am VERY pleased with the whole experience!

I worked with Steve Evans at Westside VW. Steve was very knowledgable and able to answer my technical questions. He was personable, gave great service and was open to answering all of my questions. I appreciated that Steve was not the typical pressure sales person but rather was more concerned about giving me the information I needed to make my own choice. I would recommend Steve and the people at Westside. My overall experience was excellent.

I had decided I wanted a certified used car. VW is one fo the best with a 24 month/2 year bumper to bumper and I already have had four Volkswagens in my life, so it seemed a natural fit. For those of you in #MSP, I went to Volkswagen of Inver Grove and was treated with respect, but was told the price on the car was what it was and there was no leeway. There were none that fell within my budget and were just out by $500 or so. The salesperson, Ali, continued to show me things that were not within budget or what I wanted. It's rare that I have ever felt there was nothing I could do for a customer but, it is what it is and I respect that.With that being said, I went to Luther Westside Volkswagen and had my sights on a car, but they sold it. Bobby Scala (<--great guy), the sales person, was apologetic and after a superficial search of the inventory, we both knew there was not a car available within my parameters. He then went one step further and searched inventory that was just coming in and sure enough, found a vehicle that had not been processed to be advertised but was in the inventory. I told them my budget and they adjusted the price of the car to allow for the significant cost of tax, fees and registration. There are times that doing what is right for the customer is a good thing for a company and brand and said dealer recognizes this. If you find yourself in the market for an auto, go see the team at Luther Westside Auto. They'll accommodate your needs and go the extra steps to secure a great experience for you. I have been in customer service orientated jobs for 20 plus years and they nail it.

My wife and I stopped by your used car building yesterday in hopes of test driving two Touareg's. Specifically, I saw two (09 TDI and a 12) online that I wanted to see if they would fit what we are looking for. Bobby' met us at the door and offered to help. In conversing with him, I told him what I wanted to look at. He questioned why I would want a TDI. I again told him that we are looking at a bunch of cars and wanted to compare the VW to the others. Well he got the keys to a 10 (not sure why he picked that year) and led us out to the lot to look at it. We sat in it, no offer to take it for a drive was given. I asked about the 11's, two were park right next to it. I said I would like to drive one. He seemed a bit miffed with that request, but took my license and went in search of keys. After standing outside in the cold for a few minutes, my wife and I wondered where he was, talked about his general attitude and decided it was time to leave. So we went in in search of my DL. I found Bobby in a heated argument/debate with two other sales people, my license was on the womens desk (one of the sales people in the argument/debate). So I reached in front of him to grab my DL, not one of the three sales people acknowledge me. So I walked out the door, leaving them to whatever discussion was more important than selling us a car. Bobby is a shining example of why people look down at used car sales people and I would expect more for a dealership such as Luther. I guess we need to take our cash elsewhere and scratch VW off the list of potential candidates of replacement vehicle.

My sister and I had visited a few car dealerships looking for a used vehicle after I had totaled my other vehicle in an accident, before visiting Luther Westside in February. Helton Cerqueira at Luther Westside in St. Louis Park was the ONLY salesperson that I felt went above and beyond for me. Earlier is my buying process, I experienced pushy salespeople who ultimately made me feel pressured and very uncomfortable. Helton was the complete opposite! His laid-back yet professional demeanor was a breath of fresh air. He was exactly what I wanted in a salesperson genuine, honest, and knowledgeable. He happily had me test drive over 5 vehicles, stayed within my price range, and made me feel like he wasnt there just to make a sale. Even when I told Helton that I had to think everything through and come back tomorrow, he remained laid-back and non-aggressive. Obviously, I came back the next day and purchased my VW Jetta from Helton - I love it! I waited a few months to write this review because I wanted to include my follow-up experience. Helton held his word! He has followed-up with everything he had promised, helped schedule my service appointment for a few months out (oil change), and checked-in to make sure I was enjoying my vehicle. Truth be told If I ever buy another car, Im buying it from Helton.

I walked in to buy a car that I found on their website and I was amazed with the service. I was treated great; my sales person asked me what I was looking for and then tried to find a car to fit my needs. It ended up that there were 3 different cars that were exactly what I was looking for. I live 2 hours away and the drive was well worth the effort. My locale VW dealer didn't even have one car that was close to what I wanted, and VW Westside had 4. That is great service with the amazing inventory to select form.

I was interested in a used passat but i wasnt sure what year after visiting Luther Westside and meeting Steve Evans all my questions were answered, I normaly dont like the process of buying a car but steve and the team at luther made it very quick and painless. The finance team helped me find the best deal that worked with me and was very patient with my indecision on a few items. Fast and simple service. I saw the car I wanted and was able to test drive it and buy it according to my schedule. Bobby was very flexible, willing to help, answered all of my questions and was so friendly! The only negative part about my time at the dealership was with the business manager, Craig Erickson... He came off kind of short with me. I went in to get my vehicle later at night since I had to go after work so it was towards closing time. This was the first car I ever purchased so I was new to the process and the extra warranties and coverage options, etc. He explained them all to me very clearly but after I declined he seemed angry and confused as to why I wouldn't purchase one since it was such a good deal. I didn't find it necessary but he kept pushing it until the very end. Just kind of made everything awkward and I felt uncomfortable. I know he is doing his job giving me the options that are available to me but it was pushed a little too much in my opinion! Other than that, I had a great experience and would recommend others to the dealership!

Traded in 2 cars on a brand new GTI w/Autobahn package. Left my tools in one of my trade-ins. After contacting my salesperson and New Car Manager and notifying them, neither one of them could even be bothered to return my phone call. The tools disappeared and nobody even acted as if they cared! Pretty irritating after you spend over $30,000 on a car! I would not recommend this dealer to ANYONE, they made zero attempts to remedy the situation..

I have been here twice for service and will NEVER go back again!! Brought my 2013 VW here to get the heater fixed that died on a -20 day, it was a Saturday and was told it would be hours before they could look at it. Told them they needed to give me a car to drive since the car was only 4 months old. They did but the car had been driven by someone else and never cleaned. Got a call later that day that they needed to order a part and would be fixed on Monday. Tuesday I called to see when my car would be done and magically it was when I called. Told them I would be by after work to pick it up. It was sitting outside in the freezing cold, all the windows were frosted over inside and out. I was so angry that they would give me my car back at 6:00 at night and not even drivable. Spoke with the supposed service mgr on duty. He was like a dumb lost puppy. Offered then to take into the garage. Too Late pal!!

The service I received from Luther Westside VW was great, although he did not initially introduce himself to my father and I, Kader was a great sales professional. He was very knowledgeable on the different vehicles available for purchase, and was also helpful in getting the car I purchased to meet the standards that we came for in including ensuring that minor dents were repaired and the car was cleaned prior to delivery at my home. I would definitely recommend Luther Westside VW to anyone looking for a new or used VW!

Never felt any pressure from Kurt, answered all questions we had and some we hadn't thought of. We got fair value for or 15 year old Beetle and a great price on our new one. I was planning to buy a new Audi A6 and while researching the vehicle and its availability on the internet I noticed that Westside VW had a number of late model low mileage cars at very attractive pricing. The vehicle I was interested in was only one year old, with low mileage and looked like new. The sales associate my wife and I dealt with, Jim Southwell, was very knowledgeable about the features of the vehicle, persuasive in his explanation of the benefits of buying a used low mileage vehicle versus a new one, paid close attention to my wife and her questions, and was a friendly likeable person. I had a preconceived notion that buying a used car would have a high pressure sales process, but it was not like that. Our buying experience was low pressure; they gave their best price first, which was in line with what I expected to pay; and the value of my trade in was fair. As a result of my experience, I would recommend Westside VW as a good place to go for a wide selection of new and used vehicles, a knowledgeable sales staff who are low pressure, and very competitive pricing.

Was concerned when a part hadn't been changed when we were told it was, but I brought it back and they fixed it at no cost and also provided me with a free rental to drive while the work was being done. I came in on 02/11/14 for a blower fan malfunction in my 2012 cc VW ..my vehicle was at the 30,000 miles. So the informed me I was eligible for 30,000 mile service at no charge. I was give a ride to my gym which is about .5 mile away and also picked up at conclusion of performed service. All staff was friendly and entire experience was awesome. Thanks!!!!!!

I bought a certified used Passat three days ago. When I went to set up the XM radio, an error code of Antenna: A problem has occurred showed up. I took it to Westside VW to get the antenna fixed. Two and a half hours later, they told me it was fixed and I was good to go. I got in the car and the same error message appeared. I'm not sure what they actually did for 2.5 hours? The gentleman told me they would have to order a new XM radio module, and I would have to make another appointment once the part is in. I don't know when the part will be in or when my appointment will be. It is a little frustrating that I just bought a certified used vehicle and I have to return to the dealership at least twice in the first week of owning.

My experience was wonderful. Right after Christmas, my car was totaled after a drunk driver hit my car while it was parked. I live in Iowa and my car is my everything. So when this happened, I was stuck trying to find a car. I had a 2001 Volks Jetta that was very basic so anything better than my old car would be great. I started looking online and I found Luther West side since It was by my moms work and she said they have a great selection. I live in Stillwater so the trip was a little bit long but when I drove in, I was impressed with the layout of the cars and how the dealership was. My mom and I went online to see what they had for cars and I did find a few that I liked. In my head, I was just looking what is out their. Rick was the first one to come up to me and he was very helpful and patient. I printed out cars that I liked and we went around and showed me. I printed out a car that was on the lot that even he didn't know he had it on inventory. It took me a week to say 'yes' to that car but when I called to tell him the news...it was sold. The next day my mom called and it was back on the lot. I was so excited that I knew it was the car for me. One thing that I didn't really like was the day I went in the dealership to purchase the car, they were very quick and fast. They seemed like they wanted to do the paperwork then say goodbye then grab another person. Seemed they just wanted money and you to sign the car away. Other than that, until that last 20 minutes, it was great. It was easy and smooth from the beginning until the end.

Extremely negative experience working with Rich. Poor communication for a deal that spanned multiple days and he has a very poor attitude. He can be snide, condescending and short with customers. When an issue arose after the sale his flat response was "there's nothing I can do" and that was it. Extremely terrible experience with him.

I was looking for a rare bird: A Passat Wagon with a manual transmission. Turns out West Side had one. I was referred to Steve Broucek by Steve Kahn at Burnsville. I had purchased vehicles from Steve Kahn in the past so I knew the experience with Steve Broucek would be good. The car has high mileage but is nearly spotless and running great. The service department had done $1500 worth of work on it to make it ready for sale - nothing major but new brakes all around and everything else gone over. Steve B was really good to work with - very responsive and accommodating. I have no problem with referring friends or being a return customer.

We drove 15plus hours to purchase a used fiat 500c from Luther. The car was spotless and the price was right. Without asking they gave us free rubber floor mats, a tank full of gas and they washed our car that brought us there. We had a great experience working with them, and would recommend purchasing a vehicle from them to anyone. They had offered to deliver the car for a very reasonable price, but we choose for the road trip instead. It was nice to meet the nice people of Luther Volkswagen. Keep up the good work folks...

I love Volkswagens because of their good looks, their reliability and their safety. They are just very well designed cars. The question is, where to buy? I have been buying from Westside Volkswagen and specifically Carol Jean Anderson for 10 years because she is super friendly, very knowledgeable, and she always gives me the straight story on a car model. She has also given me a very good price on all new cars I have purchased from her (two Jetta's, a Beatle and a Passat) and basically, I just flat out trust her. If you want a good price on a new car from someone you can trust, and maybe make a new friend in the process, call Carol Jean Anderson from Westside.

Great experience. I arranged a test drive with Kurt Bublitz by phone for a Golf TDI I was interested in. Kurt greeted me at the door when I arrived. He was friendly and relaxed, answered all my detailed questions (I had many) before and during the test drive, and was very knowledgeable. This review is for the purchase of a used vehicle, I researched for about 6 weeks before deciding on a Fiesta hatchback in SES trim and looked online for available vehicles. Most of the vehicles I found advertised ranged in the $12,500 to $15,000 range depending on the trim level and I was able to find 3 contenders in a 150 mile radius from my home. I contacted a couple of dealers through their online interfaces to find out if the cars were still available. Helton Cerqueira from Luther contacted me and we set up a time for a test drive. I arrived at the dealership and was immediately greeted by a Luther associate and since Helton was busy with a walk in client he excused himself came to me and introduced himself and let me know he would be with me shortly. The Luther team stepped up and another associate took over working with the other customer and Helton showed me the car which we took for a test drive. Throughout the time with Helton there wasn't any hard sales pitch he genuinely was more interested in making sure the car was right for me and that I would be happy with it then trying to push me to buy it. I was satisfied with the test drive and liked the car but wasn't ready to buy without seeing other vehicles. One thing that actually worried me a bit was the price as it seemed too low compared to the other similarly equipped vehicles. Looking at the information online the Carfax was clean and the information Helton Shared with me about the previous owners along with the fact that the dealership had had this vehicle on their lot for a couple of months already help to allieviate that concern. I discussed the purchase with my Wife and decided to contact Helton to make sure it was still available which it was. Helton took a down payment over the phone to hold the vehicle for me and as it turned out the price of the vehicle was reduced overnight another $400.00 which made the deal even better. I already had financing so we just needed to make the final purchase. Luther worked directly with my Credit Union and the transaction went smoothly, I picked up the vehicle over the weekend. All in all the experience was great, no pressure to buy, interested in what I wanted and not what they had to sell, offered financing, took care of all the details, great pricing ($2400 less than the next closest) , super sales person in Helton and I would definitely use them again for a purchase.

Helton goes above and beyond for his customers! My dad brought an Audi A3 from him a couple of months ago and when I decided to buy a car I was on the lookout for a Rabbit. My dad emailed Helton to let him know and a couple of weeks later he emailed us with exactly what we were looking for. I took it for a test drive and Helton was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I decided to buy the car and had an overall excellent experience from start to finish. I also want to mention that in the process of buying the Rabbit, I was driving my dad's Audi and got into a minor accident in a parking lot. I felt so terrible and wasn't sure where to take the car for repairs. I decided to call Helton for some advice and he called me back right away - later on a Sunday night! The next day he provided me with some names and numbers and called to check-in. I don't know what I would've done without his assistance. I will continue to work with Helton for as long as he is around and will refer all my friends as well. I am really appreciative for all that he has done.

I first met our sales guy, Bobby, a few months ago when I was tire-kicking and went to look at an older Honda Odyssey they had on the lot for cheap. I didn't like it, but I really liked Bobby's personality. So when I went back to check out the Routans, I was glad to see that Bobby was there and ready to help. The no-haggle, no pressure model is such a pleasure and the whole staff were courteous and sweet to me and my family. My toddler and 1-year-old were free to sit in the used cars pretending to drive, or hang out and watch TV and play with toys while we got the paperwork in order and everyone was very sweet to them. The Used Car side could use a few more toys to entertain kids during the car-buying process, but at least they try to get you through it as quickly as possible. And the Service Dept. has many more amenities if we need to spend time there (we haven't yet, but their great reputation has us feeling confident that we'll be treated well).Now a quick review of the vehicle and why we're glad we bought it at Luther WestSide:When we were ready to get serious about buying a minivan, I did a ton of research and we test drove a few. The Town & Country had the most amenities but had poor handling. The Odyssey drives great and has some nice features but the used ones are still extremely expensive. I wasn't too optimistic about driving a Routan because it's built on a Town & Country platform and some reviews I read said that it was basically the same but with a "slightly firmer" suspension. I totally disagree - I found the Routan to be worlds better to drive than the Town & Country. It's stiff and European and feels like a million bucks. It is actually fun to drive - and my other vehicle is a BMW, so I love performance and handling. And with it's few little body tweaks and VW interior styling, it looks way nicer than the Town & Country as well. As for bang for the buck, it's really nicely appointed and we were able to get last year's model with under 20k miles for 4 grand less than a comparable Odyssey that was a year older and had about 40k miles. As for reliability, because it was a newer car and a Certified Used vehicle, we were basically covered bumper-to-bumper for another 4 years. We added a very affordable comprehensive plan so now we're covered for the next 8 years or up to 100k miles for about 20 bucks. That negates any possible concerns about reliability - right down to the Nav system, the DVD entertainment system, etc. - it's all covered. End of story. We feel like we got a no-worries, brand new vehicle for half price.

My car hit an object on the freeway that required major mechanical repair including replacement of the transmission. The dealer got me into their service department promptly to assess the damage. Kale Anderson was a pleasure to work with, giving me regular updates on my car's progress. Upon receiving my car back after the repairs I found it in perfect condition. I couldn't be more pleased. Steve Hendricks, the general manager, offered me a loaner car when the car was towed into the dealership. I paid extra to have the car towed to Westside VW and am so glad I did. I will continue to do my automotive business at Westside VW.

I purchased a 2013 VW Jetta Hybrid from Westside. I had problems with my new car with less than 300 miles on it. When I went back to Carol Jean she owned my problem and did everything to make it right. While I am still unhappy with my car I am very happy with the service I received and the staff's eagerness to help. I would for sure go back if I am ever in the market for a VW.

I spent a month trying to find used car that will fit needs of our family. I came here to look at used SUV but then I've found out that they have couple of VW Passat's in great condition and for affordable price. I drove the previous generation of Passat and know I this car. Mikhail helped us to choose one that we need. Also he took each car and drove it to the dealership's front door because it was slightly raining - and my wife and out little daughter came with me. We really appreciate it. We spent the rest of the day preparing car insurance and other paperwork. Also these guys stayed after 5pm (on Saturday) to finish the deal - so we didn't have to return on Monday. I'm enjoying the car - we have 5 days (500 miles) to return it - and this is awesome! Also we have 2yrs (24k miles) extended warranty - that makes me feel comfortable and happy with new buy.Thank you again!

I came to this dealership a month ago with the intention of "just looking" at SUV's. I was met on the lot by Brian Trevino whom was friendly, funny, and extremely knowledgable about all the cars on the lot and helped me to make a decision to buy a car in under two hours! I have grown up around cars my whole life, my parents own a mechanic shop, and I was astonished with the knowledge this sales associate had. I am a first time volkswagen owner, and to say I'm happy with my new vehicle is an understatement. Brian helped me make the right decision and found an SUV that was the exact right fit for me. When we told him there was one at another dealership he called a friend there and gave us his name. That car had been held by a deposit earlier that day so we went back to Steve 2days later to talk about a new one. He told us his friend had called and the other deal fell through so the car we wanted was available at the other dealership. He was very gracious and we would have bought a car from him.

My husband got the type of truck he had been wanting at a great price. The Salesman Steve was easy to talk to and had an answer for every question i had or found the answer within minutes. He had a great personality and took good care of us while waiting for all the financing to take place. The sales manager Tami was very friendly and kept checking on us to make sure we were being taken care of. They were not aggressive in their approach, allowing me to test drive several cars over a 5 day period before I finally committed.This is the second time I have bought though Luther and both times have been a great experience. I would suggest that you get there early in the morning as the sales experience is a lot calmer. Later in the day it tends to get busy.

I could not be happier with my buying experience. I was a little nervous about buying a car sight unseen, long distance, but Helton Cerqueira assured me that Luther Westside Volkswagen does this all the time. He took care of the sale from start to finish, lining me up with a loan officer, sending instructions on how to wire the downpayment, arranging shipment of the car, registering the car in Maryland, and so on. I had an excellent experience with Gervona who helped us choosing a used vehicle. We came to Westside to look specifically at one vehicle which ended up to be too 'used' for me to consider. I asked Gervona to show us used Tiguans and told her how I expected to use the small SUV in a non-winter climate. Gervona listened and only showed us the FWD Tiguans, as there was no need to look at the higher end AWD. We ended up buying the FWD Tiguan.Gervona was also very knowledgable about VWs. This is very important to me, as I will not give the time of day to a salesperson who does not know the products ey are selling.

Buying a new car is usually a somewhat scary, albeit exciting, experience. Maura made us feel comfortable and was able to provide all of the information we needed as well as test driving exactly the vehicle we were interested in. The purchasing process, the scariest part, was everything we could have hoped for. The price for the car, the trade-in, financing and delivery were all what we were would have wished. I wouldn't hesitate to do this again if we need another car in the future.

I just leased a vehicle at Westside and had a great experience. Our sales rep, Rich Meredyk, helped us evaluate which vehicle would best fit our needs and let us take the vehicles out on multiple test drives to make sure we were comfortable with our final decision. I really appreciated the timeliness in which Rich responded to questions I would email, how personable he was, etc. We plan on leasing our next vehicle through him as well. Rich was great. My Wife and I went to check out cars at Luther Westside VW. I forgot that Rich Meredyk worked there as he and I go way back (high school) but hadn't seen each other in many years. I told Rich repeatedly throughout the experience that his professionalism was unmatched as we had dealt with several sales people from multiple dealerships (AND this was not just because I knew him and considered him a friend). **Update. After all errors described in this review I went to pick up my vehicle. I was told a runner had "scuffed" the rear bumper in the lot. In fact the car was in an accident, and only when I demanded to see the "scuff" did I find the rear bumper patched, primed, and taped to be painted - all without informing me or getting authorization! Obviously they were not going to tell me the car was damaged - EXTREMELY shady, and downright sad for a car-lover***I should start by stating that I purchase or lease a new vehicle every two years. I have had a lot of dealings with new car dealerships, and was impressed with the low pressure buying atmosphere at Luther Westside. Having done business at other Luther group locations, I had high expectations and was not disappointed with the sales process. After leasing a 2013 Jetta, I decided to have a spoiler installed at the same time as 30-60 day "check-up" service. I was told the car would be in and out on the same day, and given a loaner to use during the service. All good so far, but then the interesting things started to happen. I was contacted later that day and was told the wrong part was ordered and they did not have the spoiler on hand (the part was pre-ordered by the sales department 1 week prior to the appointment), and to stay in the dealer car for another day. The next day I was again contacted by sales and informed that the spoiler was not received overnight like they planned and to stay in the loaner for another day... this occured for several days, with the excuses changing only slightly. After six days in the loaner I informed the service rep that I was going out of town on a road trip and would be in later in the day to get my car and if the spoiler was not on to just cancel the service order and I would just go elsewhere when I returned home. Only then was I told that the spoiler was on, but was put on incorrectly and needed to be reinstalled. Shocked that a week later the car was still not done, I picked it up, went on my trip, and it was picked up by the dealership on the following Monday to be fixed properly. I was again provided a loaner, and told the car would be back later in the day or the next. 3 days later I was contacted and told the work was done perfectly this time and inspected/approved by a service manager. In fact the spoiler was not reinstalled - they just tried to add more adhesive to hold down the unattached portion. The same errors were still visible but now accompanied by excess glue along the edges. The work was sloppy, not what I would expect of an established dealership, and certainly would not pass any sort of quality inspection - which a manager obviously never completed. Finally having enough, I told the service rep that had been communicating with me that the spoiler needed to be removed and I would go elsewhere for the work. Of course he tried to let me have them install it a 3rd time, which I declined. The removal took 3 additional days, and when I finally went to pick up the car and get a refund I was told that they could not refund the credit card I paid with, that would instead mail me a check. I refused to take my car back until I get the check; if I have learned anything through this ordeal it is not to trust the word of Westside service. What sort of business today cannot process a refund and must cut you a check? I suspect that the refund issue has to do with the service statistics for dealership ratings, but it still not acceptable. Luther Westside is less than a quarter mile away from my home, but given the difficulty they had with a simple spoiler install I will not be trusting them to service my car in the future. In short, save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

Luther Westside is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure working with.I bought a 2012 Routan and 3 days after I noticed the CD player was not functioning correctly. I returned to the dealership to have it examined and they also found the CD player to be defective. They replaced the CD player with the same model and the exact same problem was happening. At this point, they started ignoring me. My calls were ignored and even an extra visit to speak with a manager was a waste of time. I was promised a phone call the next day with a solution, never heard back.Turns out, ALL of the CD players of that model are defective. (they cut out the beginning of tracks) Luther Westside was ignoring me because they didnt want to admit they were all garbage. I visited Burnsville Luther and they ALSO found it to be defective. I filed a complaint with VW of America and after they sent a case manager to investigate, Westside Luther told them that is was MY fault because I was listening to illegally burned CDs. THAT IS A LIE! The service advisor and the mechanic BOTH watched me use legal CDs (which I purchased off Amazon) to demonstrate the defect. After they told VW of America those lies, I was branded as a liar trying to take advantage of them.So after 2 VW dealerships found it to be defective, they STILL would not replace the CD player they sold me. After 6 MONTHS of arguing with this terrible company, I had no choice but to file a lawsuit.STAY AWAY FROM LUTHER WESTSIDE! TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!

I absolutely recommend this dealership. I have given this dealership a high rating because Carole Jean Anderson is fantastic! She has assisted me with my last three vehicles and I loved all of them. What I really enjoy about Carole is that she is so friendly. You feel like you are spending the day with your friend--a friend who is extremely knowledgeable about her product and who is really looking out for your best interest. I just leased my third Jetta. I had scheduled an appointment with Brian, but got to the dealership early. Another gentleman( forgotten his name) helped me and took me out for a test drive and when we returned he turned me over to Brian with a smile and handshake - customer service was great. I was very pleasently surprised with an additional discount to my vehicle because of the holiday sale - BONUS :) And I had gone to the dealership thinking the price on the car was fair to start with. While I waited for my car to be readied for me to drive home the staff there chatted with me others who were busy walked by with smiles - very friendly staff. My overall experience was was a positive outcome. We hadn't bought a car in over 15 years and it hadn't been a fun experience in the past. However with that said, Brian was wonderful to work with. We found the car on-line and called him to see if we could look at it. He made it soooo easy and comfortable for us. My husband is deaf and we've had the experience of dealers not wanting to make an effort to deal with us. Not with Brian; I found Brian and David (my husband) laughing and everything before I was able to join them in looking at the car. He was wonderful; explained everything to David (with me interpreting). Spoke directly to him instead of at me. He took very good care of us. He even went out of his way to direct us to eating locations to celebrate getting the car. That is way beyond. Brian's personality fits with what he does. Much has changed since the purchase of my last car 12 years ago - both in terms of technology in the cars as well as the methods available to 'shop' for a car. Having had an Audi, I knew I wanted German engineering again, so I began my search on the internet. I already knew I wanted either a lightly used (loved) Passat TDI or a CC and Luther Westside had the best selections on their website, so I wrote down the VIN numbers of my top 4. My son and I drove through the car lot and got out and looked at 3 of those 4 there. Proceeding to the showroom we were looking at the cars inside the used car showroom and Bobby Scala asked us if we had been helped. (Note - I was thankful that we had not been stalked through the car lot and made to feel like some kind of prey as has happened in the past!) I had 2 questions for Bobby - first, how long had he worked there (12 yrs) and, second, does he drive a VW (yes). It is important to me that someone trying to sell me a brand believe in it enough to own it. There in the showroom was the last car that I had written down on my list - which was actually the first one I had written down on my list from home. Bobby explained all the features on the CC's and helped me decide to eliminate the TDI - as it wouldn't have fit my needs as well as the CC. I test drove one of the CC's from the parking lot and liked it, but I wanted to drive the one in the showroom, so Bobby arranged to get it out of (of course) the middle of the showroom. My son and I went to get some lunch and when we returned my car was ready to test drive. I LOVED IT! Bobby arranged for the rest of the transaction and I was out of there with my new (previously loved) car! I never felt any pressure from the sales team (okay - maybe a little from Craig in the business office, but that's his job.) I would definitely recommend Luther Westside and Bobby Scala for anyone's car needs. Bobby was very thorough in instructing me on all the features in my car before I left - I was a little overwhelmed by all of the technology (my last car had a TAPE DECK for goodness sake!) Now I just have to learn to keep close to the speed limit in my new awesome car...

My husband and I talked with Jim Southwell about desiring a newer, used vehicle. We considered a Passat and a Tiguan.Jim helped us by allowing me to test drive both models. He answered our questions about the functionality of both typesof cars, what their unique features were, etc. We also visited the auto show in the Twin Cities, which helped us finalizeour decision to purchase a Tiguan. We returned to Westside and asked Jim to keep an eye open for a newer, used Tiguanwith specific colors and interior in mind. Jim called us approx. 2 - 2 1/2 weeks later letting us know that the exact car we requested was coming in. He also said he would call us as soon as it did. When it arrived, we checked it over, took it fora test drive, and decided to purchase it. Jim was very professional throughout the entire process. We felt comfortable and confident with our decision. Jim also went through many of the special features of the car, while we sat in it with him. He also made a follow-up call to us, asking if driving the car was going well and letting us know that we can call him anytime to ask questions about the car. Excellent service!!

I bought my Passat from Chris Smith 10 years ago & have absolutely LOVED it! Prior to that I also owned a Jetta which I enjoyed as well. After 10 years, and a problem free car, it was getting to the point that little things here & there were needing some replacement. I called Chris before dropping my car at the service department to be looked over, knowing it was probably time for a new car. She met me when I arrived at the check-in & helped walk me through the service with Braden. They both were awesome. I was able to talk about options regarding possible repairs & leasing/ buying a new car depending on my repair issues. I would rate the overall service and repair as good, but the initial contact person (woman) I spoke to as poor to fair. She seemed to enter my comments for repair okay, but she then seemed to REJECT my thoughts about the problem saying we can only accept what our mechanic finds and concludes. It think it would be much better to at least accept that the customer could be correct and add that only the mechanics findings and conclusions will determine whether the work would be warranty work.My wife also felt her contact with the initial service desk person seemed harsh. She also felt the the woman seemed to REJECT the things she mentioned and thinks she could have been treated more kindly.

Rich Meredyk, greeted me at the door, when I came in. I had test driven every hybrid, in the Twin Cities, which was available, over a two year period. I was ready to buy one, when I discovered that Volkswagen had come out with a hybrid, recently. Just for fun, I thought I would check it out. Rich showed me, why I should put the 2013 Jetta Hybrid, at the top of the list, pointing out safety features, etc. Rich then went out of his way to see, that I obtained my first choice color's inside and out, and ran interference, for me, when I questioned something. He very thoroughly, went over all the electronics. If my past week's driving is any indication, this is going to be my favorite car, of all time. Volkswagen has converted me, because of Rich. He also has been checking up on me, to make sure everything is to my satisfaction.My last salesman, at another dealership, (not Luther's) sent me a nice plant, and then I never heard from him again. I would and will recommend Rich, to anyone interested, in buying a new car.

My family has dealt with Volkswagen Westside for a couple of years now and not without reason. Bobby was very helpful in finding a used VW that would come up to what I wanted. He proved to be patient and explained very well. The overall very positive experience was a little clouded by the extremely long wait and complicated paperwork, which was not Bobby's fault though.

I highly recommend Helton Cerqueira! I just bought my second car from him last week. Since purchasing my Passat from Helton a few years ago, I have had my eye on an VW Eos. When one popped up online within my price range at Westside VW, I emailed Helton to see if he wanted my Passat for the Eos. Within minutes of receiving the email, he called me and we had an appointment the next day. During my appointment, we found a different Eos that was a lease return with low miles that I bought that night! I was just over halfway through my loan with the Passat and did not know much about trading it in before its paid off, but Helton and Craig Erickson explained how it worked and the transaction was seamless. My loan interest rate was better, my car payment lower and my car insurance even went down. Helton is an exceptional member of the Westside VW Team who genuinely cares about finding you the perfect car! I appreciate his no hassle nor pressure sales approach and his perfect follow-up and communication. He truly went above and beyond with service and details to make sure my car was perfect upon delivery. I love it!!! Now, I just wish this MN Winter would turn to Spring so that I can drive with the top down on my VW Eos! :)

November 2012I am very happy with my experience with David Hartman in connection to leasing a Jetta. Since September I had been in the process of looking for a Nissan Versa S (manual) and the process was unbelievable. None of the local dealers were able to get the product despite some making promises in order to get me into a showroom. For the past two weeks I had been talking to dealers in Chicago, and I put a deposit down on two different cars with two different dealers, but each deal fell through either because the dealer lost or damaged the car or the dealer changed their pricing at the last minute. On Friday of last week I found a third black manual Versa S in Chicago, but the dealership was so difficult to work with that I eventually gave up on the idea of flying down to Chicago to pick it up. Despite having loan approvals from four different banks, I couldnt buy a Versa.When I called David, things became a lot easier. He had the exact model I was looking for and the sales process could not have been smoother.Thank you David.Ben

I had a wonderful experience. The sales staff was extremely friendly and helpful, even staying a few minutes late so I could test drive the vehicle I was interested in. They were very transparent, encouraging me to take the vehicle to an independent mechanic when I asked about that possibility. The mechanic I took the car to was so impressed with the condition of the car and all the recent improvements that had been made, he wanted to know what dealership I was working with. The whole experience was very pleasant and such a welcomed relief after a somewhat intimidating experience of looking for a used car. I feel so good about my purchase and would start at this dealership if ever I needed a used car again. A top-notch group!!!

Each time I come to this dealership, whether I walk in the front door or drive into the service garage, I am always acknowledged by one of the staff within a few seconds. The staff are always professional and friendly. This is the 3rd vehicle that I leased with this dealership and each time I have worked with David Hartman. He is a great salesman, he asks questions to see what my "needs are this time". He explains all the features and benefits of owning a VW compared to other brand vehicles of the same style that I have been looking at (ie: Tiguan, Escape, CRV etc.) David explains all of the buying, leasing options, advantages and disadvantages, he sits in the car with you and explains all of the features and how they work. He treats you as you are part of his family. David is not a pushy salesman, he lets you contemplate, think and he checks back to see if you have other questions to help you make a decision. Flew all the way from MI to purchase a 2007 BMW 328i coupe with the sport package. The car was exactly as they said it was, and Bobby even picked us up from the airport! When I got there they had all the paperwork ready, and made the process go as smoothly as possible. I was impressed that they had even applied for new plates and transferred the title over to my name, so I had nothing left to worry about. From the very start, Nick Reynolds immediately made me comfortable he was smart without being pushy...he simply pointed out the differences in the VW models and he was knowledgable about other cars as well, which came in handy as I had already been to BMW, Lexus, Toyota and Honda. I had initially come in to test drive a few different models. Nick was quick to point out the different features and showed me how to use the technology available on the cars. I really had no intention of buying a Passat TDI, then I drove it, and loved all the features, especially the gas mileage and low emmissions-my other choice was a Prius. No doubt I made the right decision in buying the Passat, there is no comparison. I love it! Nick has followed through by calling me to see how I am doing, and he again, was able to answer every silly question that I have had so far. Very good salesman and dealership. Would highly recommend Nick and the team over at Westside.

I purchased a new Jetta about 3 months ago and just brought it in for a courtesy service appointment. The process was SO easy! I just drove right into the service dock and they took care of the rest. The waiting area is very comfortable with great amenities to make your time their as enjoyable as possible. The employees servicing my car were very professional and courteous. Before I knew it, my car was done and they even washed it for me!

I had my last car for 14 years and was not looking forward to the process of purchasing a new vehicle. But Luther Westside made my purchasing experience easy and pleasant. My salesperson was knowledgeable, friendly, and not pushy at all. They let me take the vehicle for 3 test drives. I wanted a manual transmission and they did not have the color I wanted in stock, but they did give me a bit of a discount for taking a vehicle off the lot instead of ordering one. The purchase process was smooth and not stressful. The finance department went over everything in detail with me. I received a few follow-up phone calls to make sure I was happy with my purchase and if any questions had arisen. I purchased a Jetta Sportwagen and I feel that I got a lot of car for my money. I love everything about the vehicle and the finishing work and attention to detail is excellent. I brought my car in for the courtesy check and was pleased by the service department as well. They did a walk around of the car with me and explained in detail what they would do and answered my questions. Everyone I had contact with at this dealer has been wonderful to work with, they are all pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this dealer!

I was looking around the internet for a used Golf TDI, and I found this nice 2012 Golf at Luther Westside VW. I gave the dealership a call, and Steve Evans walked me through the vehicle over the phone. He then introduced me to Brian Hahs in Finance, to arrange the financial details. Brian gave me a call 30 minutes later to let me know I was approved, and I placed a deposit on the car. I also purchased a plane ticket to Minnesota for Saturday, to pick up the vehicle. Steve picked me up at noon at the airport, and gave me a ride to the dealership. The car was in great condition as described, and introduced me personally to Brian. To make the story short, by 2 PM I was driving my new Golf back to Houston, TX. At 61 years of age, this was one of my best experiences in buying a car up to this day. Everything went very smoothly and quickly, with no surprises. I would like to thank Steve Evans and Brian Hahs again for a great job.

After a routine maintenance visit to Westside VW, we decided to have the value of our R32 determined. The used car receptionist referred us to Helton. Helton quickly arranged for the car R32 to be evaluated. While waiting for outcome, Helton asked why we were interested in the evaluation. We told him about an Audi roadster advertised on the internet. He suggested that the general manager could check into bringing the Audi into the dealership for examination. The next day we were able to take the Audi for a test drive and decided to buy it. Helton handled the transaction and other details very efficiently. That afternoon we drove home a beautiful red Audi TTS Roadster. Helton's knowledge and friendliness made the experience simple and enjoyable. We definitely will recommend him and the dealership to our friends.

I was lucking nearly 1/2 year for a car. The market was full of everything but not really " THO ONE". 2 month ago I finally decided it will be a Mercedes ML350. In my opinion, I already had the best car I was ever going to get - a 2003 VW Golf. Unfortunately, I lost it a few weeks ago due to the icy roads of Minneapolis. It took me a few days to get over the shock and start looking for another car. I knew right away that I wanted to stick with Volkswagen. I checked out all the dealerships and private sellers within a 100 mile radius of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Luther Westside ended up being the obvious choice. They had the best selection of cars and many of them were within the price range I was looking for. I called thier location and talked to Helton Cerqueira. He was very informative about the specific cars I was interested in. Because of my no-car situation, it took me a few days be able to set up a test drive. Until then, Helton kept in touch to let me know the car was still available and ready when I was. When I finally made it there, he took the test drive with me and ran through the specs of each vehicle. Helton was very easy to talk with and never made me feel pressured to make a purchase or spend more money than I was comfortable with. The whole experience went swimmingly, I feel satisfied, Helton was great, AND I drove away in another VW Golf!

I purchased a used car I'd found listed online. When I first phoned in to enquire, Helton was helpful and ready to set up a test drive on short notice; he had the vehicle ready to go when I came by an hour later. Test driving went smoothly, and Helton was prepared with any information I wantedwe discovered only one minor issue, with the sound system, and he arranged to have that fixed once I decided I wanted to buy. Financing and the final purchase went off without a hitchall in all, I was very happy with the experience.

I needed a new "company car" and went into Car.com to find one. After a couple days I decided between 2, one of which was a Kia Sorento at Luther Westside Volkswagen. The two vehicles were almost identical in all aspects, yet Luther's was advertising theirs $1,500.00 less. I called the dealership and spoke with Jim Southwell who was very professional and willing to work with me and my schedule. Jim exceeded my expectations and I am very satisfied with my Kia and the service I received. I grabbed a couple of Jim's cards to pass along to my friends.

I found this dealer online. I live 360 miles away. Working with Bobby S. I was able to work out a very satisfactory deal on a 2012 CPO Touareg TDI. Bobby made the deal work. As we were working on the deal I asked and was told that the Touareg had no dents. I was very surprised when I got there that there was one somewhat large ding on the roof near the rear tailgate. Something heavy had hit the roof. The damage went through the paint. I was told they hadn't seen the dent or it would have been fixed! After negotiations with a gentleman I believed to be a Sales Mgr I was finally offerd $150 to cover the cost of my taking the vehicle to a paintless dent removal guy myself when I got home. I didn't think $150 would fix it and it didn't. The dent could not be totally removed by a local technician with 15 years experience. The only way to fix it is to repair and paint the roof and $150 would not cover the cost.I lowered the overall rating because of the dent issue and how upper management handled it.

Overall experience was fantastic. I felt more comfortable than other dealership transactions I have experienced in the past. Only goof up was a slight mis-lable of the vehicle due to a 3rd party company they use to post used vehicles on thier website. Overall I give a strong recommendation to Gervona

He was very knowledgeable about cars in general, and VW's in particular. I also appreciated the time he took to review key things about the car. I was completely terrified to make such a big purchase for the first time on my own, but Steve walked me through the process in the best way possible, calming all of my fears. In fact, he made it a fun experience! I never understood people who claimed to "love" their cars. And then I drove away in my Jetta! We had been searching for a Tiguan in our area since October without any luck. In December we broadened our search to a 500 mile radius using the CarGurus website. That led us to Luther Westside Volkswagen, where we found the vehicle that met all of our criteria at the right price - except it wasn't a Tiguan, but a Touareg! I called the dealership and spoke with Helton Cerqueria. Helton walked me through the process of buying an out of state vehicle over the internet. He was very friendly and answered all of my questions, which made me more confidentin getting a deal done. A week later my wife and I made the almost 300 mile trip (one way) to Luther for a meeting with Helton. What struck me when we pulled into the lot was the sight of our Touareg, parked right in front and freshly detailed - it was an awesome sight. Helton was so easy to work with - very knowledgeable, professional, and laid back. He made the process easy and it was a pleasant experience. But there were three things in particular he did that made an impression on us: 1) We arrived almost an hour early, he changed his schedule to meet with us right away. 2) At one point in the negotiations, he didn't hesitate to meet an important request. 3) We arrived with one vehicle and were leaving with two - he drove his vehicle ahead to lead us back onto the proper freeway heading home, which put our minds at ease (even with a navigation system). Those three acts spoke volumes about Helton, the person and his servant-like attitude, and the quality of people at Luther Westside Volkswagen. We now know where to look first for our next vehicle.

We were referred to Michele by a customer who have bought more than 2 VW from her. My husband contacted Michele wanting to test drive a used Golf in inventory. When we got there, we found out that the car was just sold. She arranged for us to test drive a Jetta and a Golf and while we were doing that, she found another option for us. We came back after our test drive and were told that there's a used 2013 Golf coming in the following week and would we be interested. The price quoted to us was so good, we had to put a downpayment to hold it for us. Anxiously we waited. Michele kept us posted on the status of the car and sent us pictures and information about the car as soon as it arrived. The whole process took a week and we love our new purchase. I was looking for a Volkswagen Golf R and I had some very specific requirements as far a preferred equipment and colour. Luther WestSide Volkswagen had the model in the colour and equiped just the way I wanted. I was bringing this car back to Canada and Jim knew exactly what paperwork I would need to get an export stamp on the title when I crossed the border. Everyone was friendly and ready to answer all sorts of specific questions. The dealership is easy to find and easy to get to from the North but if you are coming from the South you may want to call and get directions so you don't miss the exit. The added bonus to calling ahead is they will get a vehicle ready for you when get there; if you know what you are looking for this can save a lot of time and really get the ball rolling.

I could not get my local VW dealer to give me any sort of deal, so I expanded my search. Luther Westside VW is 4 hours from my home, but they had the car I wanted (VW CC 4MOTION), and at a price that blew away my local dealer. I was able to take care of almost everything through emails and phone calls - including the valuation of my trade - and once I got to Luther, finalizing the paperwork took about an hour.The deal could not have gone more smoothly, and Doug Karnuth at Luther was a pleasure to work with. Buying a car long-distance is not something most people would consider. But based on my experience at Luther, I would not hesitate to do it again, and would recommend Luther to anyone.

During my inital visit to this dealership, I was greeted with what i would call "normal" interaction from my salesman. His intent was to get to know me a little and not just "make a sale". I understand sales and sales tactics as i own a large landscape company in the twin cities. I have purchsed over 60 vehicles in the past 15 years and my experience with David Hartman has been the best by far. On returning with my wife to drive the vehicle and make a decision, there was still a good feeling about it rather than the anxiety one typiclaly feels when in a car dealership. Rather than ringing the bell and letting us wait alone in a room as the paperwork was being completed, David spent nearly 45 minuets going through every detail of the vehicle with my wife. There are things that she now knows about her car that she may have never known which makes her feel more comfortable in it right from the start. I would absolutely push anyone I know in the makrket for a vehicle in the direction of Luther Westside VW and David Hartman.

Nice. Friendly. Patient. Terry and Scott (mechanic) were thorough and patient explaining what needed repairs and then prioritized them for me so I could choose what repairs were the most dire. The loby area was very comfortable with snack, lots of bottled refreshments, a sectioned area for business folks to work in, and clean bathrooms. The amenities makes a difference. I would go back because I felt these two guys cared about getting my car fixed right and they took a lot of time to explain the various types of repairs my car needed.

I just took delivery of my brand new Tiguan and my overall experience with Westside VW was outstanding. It was a totally hassle free process. Westside presented their best offer right up front, of which conformed to my research to what my trade in value was of my old car. Maura was extremely knowledgeable and helpful on the VW products, and was able to answer all my questions related to the two different VW's I was inquiring on. Maura also followed up on arranging to get me some new snow tires after the sale. I really appreciated all her efforts in the transition to my new car. When it came time to write the check, the financial process was a breeze. All preliminary financial work was completed prior to my visit, so all we had to do was review the final numbers and sign the documents. It was very quick and easy. I was also most impressed with the entire VW product model lineup. I test drove several different makes and models, and I found VW to have the best overall craftsmanship for fit and finish, plus the materials are of a higher quality for a very pleasing look and feel. This is my first VW and it's a 2008 Touareg. I bought it used from another non-VW dealer, but I figured I would bring it to someone who knows their product. Deanna Baily made me feel welcomed and important from the first moment we spoke on the phone and has continued to do so. Losing your job is never easy and having a large lease payment can really stress you out. But Brad Davidson made it very easy to turn in my 2011 Tiguan and get me into a 2013 Passat for a significant savings. He told me that I would learn to love this vehicle as much or more than I loved my 2011 Tiguan. Then two days after taking possession, Minneapolis got hit with a 12"+ snowstorm. There were over 900 accidents state-wide. The Passat didn't slip and I am becoming a believer -- fast! Thank you, Brad, for your help in making me a loyal VW customer!!!! This is our family's 6th VW purchase/lease, and I am sure it will not be the last either!!

Bobby and Jim were great, suggest you double their salaries. Luther typically has the best cost on premium used vechicles and the best trade-in values. Also, receptive on paying for the little things and makes the buying experience easy. Example, we had a tire with wall damage, you purchased and installed a new tire. Car only came with only one key, you purchased another key and mailed to us. And all with no hassel. Think they are focused on sending the right message that in the future, will make us check Luther first, on our next purchase. Overall, good experience.

From my first phone call inquiring about the vehicle to the afternoon I drove off the lot, Gervona guided me through the entire process. I had heard from friends that Helton was someone I could trust and that he had excellent attention to detail. Although I liked some of them, I didn't love any one of them. Helton didn't pressure me to settle. THAT was refreshing!!! I like two of them very much. Again, Helton was patient with me as I tried to decide which car was best. I decided on a car, bought it, and have been very happy with it. Shopping for cars had never been something that I particularly wanted to do, or enjoyed doing, however, we have now purchased our last three cars with Helton and each time has been a very good experience. The service he provided to us was excellent. He is very knowledgeable about different makes and models and very competently answers whatever questions we have. Helton was very helpful in finding the right cars for us. He cared about what mattered to us and never pressured us to buy. I don't have any reason to consider buying from anyone else and will definitely call on him the next time we need or want a car.

Michele was excellent! Going in to VW I was looking to purchase my first car. I was nervous but knew I loved my first Jetta and wanted a second but wanted to see all my options. Michele was patient showing me multiple cars and letting me test drive them. We were literally there ALL day and she never pressured a sale. I brought my dad along to help with the process since I am green to the experience and I was very pleased that she addressed me though out the process. I have walked out of other dealerships because they address my father only, yet I'm the one signing the check. Michele was fantastic getting me into the exact car I wanted by exhausting all my options. She even scheduled my next day appointment to have my spoiler put on. I was more than pleased when I went to drive off the lot in my brand new car and I had a full tank of gas and a bag of goodies Michele had provided. Great experience all around!

Vad, my pre-owned sales rep was friendly and informative. I bought a used 2006 Mazda 6 Sport. When after a test drive noticed a light out on the headlight array Vad said they would fix it and they did. If your going there to "haggle" a lower price good luck, prices don't appear to be open for negotiations. I did get the tank filled though free of charge, which was nice. Overall a very pleasant experience and would highly recommend Luther Westside Volkswagen. Thanks Vad. Oh yeah, I like my car very very much. Randy.

I have purchased from Westside VW in the past. They have consistently had great Sales staff and service, so I decided to try them again this time around. This time was no exception! Once again I had a GREAT buying experience at the dealership when we came in to purchase our VW Routan. The Management and Sales Associates are so helpful and friendly, low pressure, and they really know their stuff. Steve Hendricks is always so much fun to talk to and work with and Jim Southwell is a 5 star Sales Associate! We loved working with Jim will send more business his way when we have a chance. He was so easy to talk to, he knows and loves german engineering, (like I do) and it seems clear to me that he does this job because he truly loves these cars! Buying a car is nerve wracking and to have an experience like ours really took the pain out of buying this car. Thank you so much for making our purchase so enjoyable! We love the Routan! They will see us again when we are in the market for another vehicle!

My 2012 Golf is the 4th VW I have leased from Luther Westside Volkswagen since 2001. The dealership has always been great to work with and the service dept. very good too. My last dealing with Michele Pogue was awesome and came together over the phone since I had driven the Golf back in July. This is the second time we have worked together and probably won't be the last. Considering I keep coming back for 10 years now says alot about the service and staff. I love my Golf and VW.

I had an appointment to check out a newer Passat with high mileage, but great looks and power. When I told Bobby that it wouldn't be the best for me because of price and potential problems, he knew his inventory and brought out a 2004 with low mileage and a better price. He worked with my trade and got me a great price and super loan so it could drive it home. The whole experience took less than two hours and everybody was terrific. I am sending friends and family to find the cars they need from Westside and Bobby Scala.

Nothing too terrible to say about my experience, however I guess I expect more from a dealer when I'm about to drop $20,000+ cash on a vehicle. My sales guy had no personality, gave me very generic answers to my questions and wasn't friendly at all. I think he knew right away that I was going to purchase the vehicle I had been looking at for a while so he probably figured he didn't have to put forth any effort in the transaction. He actually snickered at me when I asked if there are any buyer incentives for paying cash instead of financing the vehicle. What do I know...? I haven't purchased a new car in 10+ years. He did, however, go out of his way to help me install my car seat in the new car as I was struggling big time. The last thing I have to say is that I was appalled when I got home and realized my tank of gas was almost empty! Had I noticed this at the dealership I would have demanded they provide me with a full tank.The business guy, Keith, was very nice and friendly but rushed through all the paperwork. They appeared perplexed that I wanted to know what I was signing. All in all I'm thrilled with my car but not with the dealership.

Excellent sales experience working with Carole Jean. Went out of her way to ensure I could pick the car up that day. The price was good, but there is little room for negotiation. I would recommend them to friends and family, especially Carole Jean. Finance officer was professional and low pressure to purchase extras.

We originally purchased a VW TDI brand new in 2001 from Westside Volkswagen. That experience was a great experience and we were happy with the car. We moved to Duluth, Minnesota and thought we could get the same friendly experience from the new VW dealer in town- but it was incredibly different. After almost being soured by the whole experience and possibly not buying a VW, my husband spoke over the phone with a saleswoman, Carole Jean, at Westside Volkswagen. She reassured us that our experience would be good with her, and the price was far below the price Duluth VW was asking for the same car. So, we decided to take the four hour drive from our home north of Duluth and meet Carole Jean in person. She was very pleasant and easy to work with. She took her time explaining all the new features of the VW TDI and was enjoyable to be with. The finance manager, Charlie, was also pleasant to work with and helped us out with no issues or hard sales. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a car- even if you have to drive four hours to get there.

I had an overall excellent experience with Westside VW. Gervona quickly called me about an internet inquiry and was very friendly and helpful with all my questions. They had one of the best selections of used Touareg's I could find and all had resonable prices. Gervona continued with excellent customer service when I arrived in person late on a Saturday and helped arrange multiple test drives before I eventually found the vehicle I wanted. Both her and the staff did a fantastic job getting the deal done quickly and even stayed after closing hours to get it all finalized. I will come back again!

Started off on the wrong foot when the car I was promised as certified, wasn't certified. Then they wanted $500 more for another vehicle that was identical but certified. I gave up and went back to looking at GM vehicles. My husband did some more research, and found another vehicle on their website. It had everything we wanted. Reluctantly, I called our salesman, and made the agreement to purchase this one. He was not available the night we were ready to purchase, so he politely passed us off to another salesman. He took care of us with kid-gloves. Every question was answered to my satisfaction. The car was delivered that evening. I understand that it is his job, but it seemed like we had a lot of extras from the finance dept shoved down our throat during the process. He was polite about it...but there was a lot of up-selling going on. All in all, I am very happy with my vehicle. Still don't have tabs yet, and haven't had to go to servce, so we'll see what happens next...

I had a wonderful experience shopping for a used VW Touareg. Helton was very informative and knowledgable about the different features and model years. He helped us evaluate what was best for us and helped us think about different purchase decisions. I did not feel any pressure to make a decision and had plenty of opportunities to test drive and look at the vehicles I was interested. We enjoyed getting to know Helton and wish we hadn't found the car we wanted so quickly so we could have worked with him more.

Chris is one of the best people you will ever deal with in the car biz...extremely knowledgeable about all types of cars and just wants to find the right car that makes the most sense for the buyer. Came in looking for an Audi or BMW but was pleasantly surprised at the "lot of car for the money" quotient on the VW CC.

I purchased a used Jetta from Westside VW over Labor Day. Vad, the salesman, was very helpful. When I told him my price range, he honored my request. He did ensure I knew what I would get at the next price level up, then helped my find a great fit in my stated range.He helped compare models and competitor's and I felt he was fair and trustworthy. At the end of the transaction I purchased the Jetta he recommended, and am very happy with the purchase.I give high ratings to the other people who helped me at Westside; the "banker" who secured a loan from VW at my target rate, and the lady who handled the final paperwork. They were very friendly, upbeat, and knowledgable. I felt like I was helped though the process, and not pressured.I am impressed with the Used Certified programs offered by VW (and Toyota). This was my first purchase of a used car from a dealership, and it was a huge help. I know I could barter a few more dollars off of price from an individual buyer, but the savings of interest rate Westside VW got me more than offset that (half a point under my CU).

I was looking to lease a new 2012 Jetta SE with a manual transmission and Luther VW had just what I was looking for. I worked with Maura and she let me test drive the 2012 manual Jetta SE w/ convenience and sunroof package multiple times until I was comfortable with making the decision. I was unsure at first but after a few days of thought and one more test drive, I knew this was the perfect vehicle for me. I was also worried about financing due to the fact that I do not have much for credit history but luckily Maura helped me out big with getting me into a program made just for recent grads. It got me "A" tier financing and also covered my first months payment! I was super happy about my experience there and I will definitely be a return customer in the future.I have never had a car dealership do so much to make sure that all of my needs were met and that I was comfortable with all of terms and the vehicle before I signed the papers. Westside VW provided a very unique car buying environment compared to other dealers I had visited. They were truly focused on selling cars and not playing silly games. They provided a "fair" quote (significantly less than any other dealer) on their initial response to my internet request.They handled all my out-of-state paperwork saving me the time of waiting in line at my county offices.In summary, I saved money and I was treated very well. Westside VW will be the first place I shop (and most likely last) for my next VW.

For me dealing with this company was a hassle free dealership. Fair and competitive price was given. Test drive was arranged with no wait and with the actual vehicle that I wanted to purchase. Salesman was knowledgable, polite and accommodating. No surprises at signing the papers and no need for negotiation.

Went in to look at a used VW but it had sold the previous day. Decided to look at a few new models and deliberate about the 0% financing deals.Maura was very helpful and patient, explaining the subtle differences in the vehicles and options packages - highlighting key things I told her were important: stereo, transmission, mileage, performance.We drove several models that would have worked out very well. They made a strong offer on my trade-in to get the deal going.I ended up with a '12 GTI 4dr with the DSG transmission and am VERY happy with the car.Throughout the process, I didn't feel pressured, annoyed or ignored. It did take a long time to drive/decide - but most of that time was due to my own indecisiveness about model/options. Maura even had two different cars pulled from storage lots into the main lot so I could evaluate them.This is exactly the way a customer wants to be treated! Thanks Maura and Westside for keeping it classy.

This was the second time i bought a vehicle from Westside and as the first time I am very happy with my purchase. It's nice to know that Westside shows you vehicles that fit your needs and budget, not ones that they would like to get rid off like many other dealers do. I drove from the Valley City ND area to buy this car. I was there for a total of three hours, before I could drive off of the lot. I stressed the importance of needing to get on the road before rush hour since I had a 5 hour drive ahead. They just didn't seem very organized. I already had financing through my bank(made that clear) and they still ran my credit and tried to offer me financing through another lender. I was never given the Luther gas discount card. If I would have known it was going to take this long, waiting around...I would have paid an extra $1000 and just bought it from Valley Imports of Fargo.

If anything, I'm not super satisified with this review process. Brad was fantastic, and super patient with me while I waffled on what I wanted over a period of three weeks. Car salesmen have the worst reputation, and Brad definitely defied it all.Not only did I leave with a cute new car with awesome features, but I had some peeps, a new snazzy keychain and two reuseable bags.

Terrible experience... Was very interested in buying a pre-owned (non-certified) vehicle from VW Westside. They do not negotiate on price so if you're like me and like to negotiate a good deal, don't come here. I am OK dealing with no-negotiation/no-haggle dealerships that offer competitive pricing... unfortunately VW Westside isn't one of them. They claim that they routinely compare their prices to maintain competitiveness... might be true if they're only monitoring the Twin Cities market, which is completely useless if there are only 1-2 other major dealerships. Start expanding your search outside of MN to other dealerships across the country, and you'll quickly find that VW Westside pricing isn't competitive at all. They don't seem to realize that buyers are more sophisticated now and it's easier than ever now to reliably purchase a vehicle over the Internet. I ended up buying a pre-owned "certified" vehicle from an east cost dealership and saved big time. If you're interested in overspending and dealing with arrogant salespeople shop at VW Westside... If you're like me and like to get a good deal, go elsewhere.

The issue at hand has been the quality of the vehicle to start with. 04 Touareg. VW rushed this to get it out to the public. It should have been delayed at least by one year maybe two. Many Many issues which seem to have me at the Dealer Service Dept on a regular basis. I feel somewhat sorry for the "Service Advisers". They are doing what they are instructed to do. Follow VW standards and direction given from the manufacture. I will also say that VW America might be one of the worst groups I've ever dealt with. They pick and choose what they will cover with no rhyme or reason. My horn has gone out 5 times. 5 TIMES! They have replaced it at no charge to me at all but the last time they informed me that they would no longer cover the repair if it goes out again. Give me a break please. You cannot fix it right so let's put it back on the owner of the vehicle. The have been good about repairing some internal rust around the front door drive window. It now is happening to the passenger side. We'll see if they stand behind it this time I believe there is a 10 year corrosion warranty? How about when the entire electrical system, it has caused so many issues sense that they just wont admit to the cause. Brakes $800.00+ per axel every 6 months or so. It took three sets of tires to find one that would last longer than 20k miles,Goodyear Fortera.$900.00 x 5 changes(3 Fortera) I'm pretty sure I have spent no less than $12K on repairs not including tires. I now have 182000 miles on the vehicle and hope to be able to drive it two more years. Looks new in and out but I need to drive it that long without any further major expenses to get my money out of it. Wish me luck.I feel somewhat lucky to have worked with a "Service Advisor" Gene K. He totally understood what I have gone Thur and has been in my corner when fighting VWA. Thanks Gene!I blame myself for purchasing a vehicle on it's first year out on the market. My bad on that. Never again. Would I purchase another VW? Yes we already did. 2011 Tiguan. So Love it. If you look at service records of VW compared to BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Land Rover. VW does come out ahead the others but not by much. Bottom line is know what your getting before you by it.

Excellent purchasing experience with honest, informative dealings. I decided to purchase an Audi S6 as the price was fair and I really liked it. We had an understanding some paint touch up, a door ding and other minor work would be completed after the sale. After a small light arrived a couple of weeks later, we scheduled the work and I brought my list of small repairs to be completed. When I picked the car up, it was followed to the T. The car is beautiful! Thanks for the great experience.

Horrible service. Not enough loaner vehicles, had to schedule appointment 2 weeks or more in advance multiple times.I've had my car in for rattling noises twice now and it still was never fixed. They said it was last time but it wasn't. I have given up on this particular problem and just have been dealing with it and possibly finding a solution on my own.They rarely answer their service department phone because of "too many calls at this time" and I have to leave a message in general service mailbox. When I do that I never get called back and I do leave my name and number.

Purchased a Certified 2010 VW GTI in late March 2011 because it was the color I wanted and came close on equipment and mileage. Decent but not great deal from a seasoned sales person. Worst part of the deal was "Charlie" the "F&I" guy who tried every heavy-handed trick in the book to try to pressure me into needless paint and fabric protection, and extended warranties. Knowing that it was a Certified car I drove it home the night I made the deal. Fast forward three weeks and I am pulled over by the St. Louis Park Police and given a fix-it ticket for an expired 21-day temporary permit. Went to the dealer the next day and found my plates lying at the receptionist desk, a shame that I did not receive a call. Took my new plates across the street to the service department to get them mounted. Turns out in the Certification process they forgot to put a front plate bracket on the car. Service writer explained that they did not have time to mount the plate bracket and I would have to make an appointment to come back. Made an appointment for a few days later, and you guessed it, another fix-it ticket for no front plate. Took the car in to get the front plate bracket and I thought I was set for my inspection at St. Louis Park City Hall. That is until the Service Writer broke the news to me that my front tires were worn out. I explained that that was impossible because it is a Certified car that I purchased a month earlier. I also explained that I did not have the car independently inspected prior to purchase because it was a Certified used car. After several compliants to the service manager, he insisted that my front tires measured 5/32 of tread compared to a Volkswagen Certified program minumum of 4/32. The Service Manager also would not rotate the tires at no charge even though they had obvously not been rotated in the car's life. Neither did he offer me a discount on a new set of tires. I provided negative feedback on the service survey and got excuses from the Customer Service Manager. It would be fun to see these two guys in a room together to try to out-excuse each other. A few weeks later I was back in the service department reporting sporadic AM reception and a metallic rattle in the exhause system. Response to exhaust issue was that they checked another 2010 GTI and it made the same noise. Also suggested that I listen to FM radio staions only. A few weeks later I noticed that the light in the driver's side visor did not work, which was missed in the Certification process. Trip one to the service department to get a new bulb, but it was not the bulb. Trip two diagnosed the condition as a bad visor which was ordered. Trip three replaced the visor but the lilght still did not work. Diagnosed the condition as a shorted wiring harness in the headliner which was ordered. Trip four installed the new wiring harness in the headliner. After service visit four noticed that the seat belt height adjusters were jammed. Service trip five repaired the seal belt height adjustor on the drivers side only. Will call tomorrow to schedule a sixth service visit to repair the damage stemming from the sloppy replacement of the headliner wiring harness.

Our second car purchase from Westside. Overall, a completely satisfactory experience both times. We bought a premium product, in high demand, so a price cut was not in the cards. Overall, Mr. Baldwin was very prompt and helpful, true to his word and got us a better deal than we expected going in.

I had a great experience with Helton. He was very knowledgable and took time with us. I never felt any pressure from him and he answered all of our questions and some we didn't know we had! He even came in on his day off to get us the car a day earlier since it was more convenient for us. I appreciate his ability to make the not fun process of buying a car almost pleasant!

Generally a vehicle purchase experience can be an uncomfortable experience. This was not the case. The sales person, James Baldwin, and the rest of the team at Luther Volkswagen were very accomodating and worked with me to understand various options between purchasing and leasing to maximize my value.

I spoke with Mr. Boucek via telephone and met with him following Saturday as planned. Having told him specifically of the vehicle I wanted, he was very prepared for my visit and had the specific vehicle at ready for my inspection. Mr. Boucek was very knowledgeable, and possesses a gracious personality and professional demeanor that made me feel comfortable in purchasing a vehicle from Luther Volkswagen.The only down-side was having to wait two plus hours to complete 10 minutes worth of paperwork. However, it was a Saturday and the sales floor was busy.

First of all, i brought my car in for a routine recall notice. My appointment was for 930am, and I was told over the phone it would take no more than an hour. When I checked-in, I was told that the appointments for the recall were taking around an hour and a half. Alan came over to tell me, with a smile, that the appointments have been taking two hours dye to the computer updates controlling the appointment. It would have been great if they were HONEST up front. I am now writing this at the two and a half hour mark. I guess I should be used to this, as previous appointments have NEVER been on time. One more thing, I overheard a woman on the phone upset about her routine oil change going over three hours.

We had a good experience with our purchase. We were at the dealership 3 times. Both used and new sides. We were met right away by a sales associate. We drove 4 different models before choosing. We felt confident with our decision and the financing portion went smoothly. We did receive a great demonstration of all the cars features as well before we drove away.

I was a price-oriented buyer on a 2011 Jetta. They met the price I found at a dealer elsewhere. They also helped finalize the purchase paperwork quickly and did much of this online. I appreciated that since I was busy last week. Definitely less of a hassle factor at Luther in terms of the paper work. Bravo!

Came in late in the day, looked at the car I wanted and was not pressured into looking at other cars. They answered every question I asked with a knowable response. The car I chose was not on the lot, they went and retrieved it that same night, so I could take it with me. Closing was 9:00pm they stayed until 10:0 to make sure I left with the car I wanted.

Steve Broucek is very likeable and was helpful to us and I appreciated his following up with us within a few days after purchase to make sure things were in order. This is the 2nd car we've bought from him. We did find it difficult to get to the appropriate price, making multiple calls. I have a sense this was more about the manager than about Steve. I have had very good experience with the people in the service department over the years and it's the closest dealership to my home, so I prefer to go there all things being equal, but it was a lot of work to get them in line with other dealers on price.

I have purchased a number of cars from Westside Volkswagon over the years, and have never had a bad experience ever - either in sales or service. I bought a car from Jim Casey when he was at Maplewood Audi, and followed him over to Westside. He put me in touch with Maura Brocek in new cars, and she is really good. She does not push, and is very straightforward in her approach. I am always very much respected, which means a lot to me, since I am in my 60's. Many years ago, if you were a single woman, that was most often not the case. I will continue to use Westside and specifically Maura and Jim for my purchases.

I recently purchased a new 2011 GTI from Westside VW. I made an internet request for the GTI after having almost purchased a GTI from another dealer that was just down the road from where I live. I got a great price from the "other dealer", but I felt like they were trying to recoup the great price by low balling the trade in. I also wanted 17 inch tires and wanted to keep the snow tires in exchange for the set of summer tires I had on another set of wheels that I used in the summer for the car I was trading in. The "other dealer" wouldn't even entertain switching the wheels and tires (even though they would come out ahead as I was trading brand new oem GTI 18 inch wheels and performance tires for 17 inch wheels and used snow tires. David Hartman contacted me the next day and I went to see him over my lunch break. I explained what I needed to happen for me to purchase the GTI. He not only gave me a better deal, but he and Westside were very willing to do the wheel/tire swap. It was a very good experience (probably one of the best car buying experiences i have had), and they have earned my business in the future (hello Golf R). I would not hesitate to recommend Westside to family and friends (and since I am the resident car guy at work - I already have recommended them).

I have been a VW car owner for 30 years. For me, there is no other car that compares, from the body design, the engine, the interior design, & the trunk space. Also in the last 30 years I have owned various other cars for work. Nothing compares to the lasting quality of the VW. As for Westside, I have found their integrity, honesty, availability, helpfulness to be the best in the Twin Cities.

Overall, far more "good" experiences than other. The last may have been one of the better ones: after a significant service expense plus R&R of a wheel bearing, they helped cover the significant cost of a different repair and new parts order under warranty coverage. Thank you for turning an anticipated $1200 cost into $800 in total charges.

What a great buying experience. Had trouble with my trade in (blown engine) and was worried that I would be left to deal with my problem on my own. Had a conversation with the General Manager who assured me Luther Westside VW was on my side. Not only did they help me with my disabled VW I purchased a new Jetta for a great price. I totally recommend buying a car from any of the Luther Dearlerships. They will go to bat for you if ever you need them.

Everything was great. I was greeted at the door and everything was wonderful from that moment on. I was allowed to take a test drive without the sales person, which I appreciated. The workings of the car were explained thoroughly, not to mention nice to have the car washed. No complaints whatsoever. I will recommend this dealership to others.

Overall had a great experience and love me new jetta! Brian, the salesman did a great job, he wasn't pushy and after purchasing my vehicle he went over everything and every feature of my car so I knew how to operate it. The only bad experience I had was with the buisness manager, after we decieded we didn't want to purchase the extra packages and extended waranty he was very rude and short with us. I just found it very rude that he was so short and snotty with us because we didn't purchase the extras that he would have made commission on.

He took the time to properly diagnose my vehicle's issue, with the kind of care someone who understands the value of a dollar would. Because he was thorough and careful in how my appointment and repairs were handled, he may have saved lots of energy for his own maintenance staff and hundreds of dollars for me, at a time when every penny counts. Thank you Jacob for being there that day and taking such good care of my vehicle and me as a customer. When it's time for bonuses and raises, you deserve a giant one. I've been servicing/buying new/used cars from Westside VW for over 30 years. Last bought used from Tom a year ago; I always go to Tom. He is so much more than my sales guy......he is a 10+ when it comes to HELP!!! What do I do now. Sat. noon couldn't get key in column.....Tom arranged for a rental thru dealership before I had a tow arranged...(he gave me the warranty tow # )...he's got my back and ALWAYS accessible. Honest, thorough, great listener. Brett, Toby, and ?John Olson, Reinhart have been great on the service side. I'm senior, live alone, spend a lot of time in my car........I need consistent service and I get it. It is so great to be dealing with the same people over time. In the end it's all about trust and relationships, respect. Oh, I never feel like I get treated differently/badly because I'm a woman/older.

We are on our 3rd VW from Westside and have had more often than not have had great experiences. Brad Davidson has been our Sales person and Brett Baird is the Service guy I always go to and would highly recommend both. Working with Brad has been a pleasant experience. He's very easy going and we never felt pressured to make a purchase or get us a vehicle or options we didn't want. He was also very accomodating to specific things we were looking for. Brett returns phone calls/messages/emails in a timely manner and is always very thorough in taking notes and listening to me as well as explaining fixes and other recommendations for work needing to be done. Both of them have always followed through with what they've told me they would do and I feel like a valued customer to them. I sill suggest that anyone buying a Volkswagon, seriously look into purchasing an extended warranty as the ones we've got have more than paid for themselves several times over and have made our owning experience MUCH better. They're fantastic vehicles and I enjoy driving mine everytime I get behind the wheel!

My wife and I just recently purchased a vehicle from Jim Stack at Westside VW. Jim was very easy to work with, and helpful to any questions that I had. Both him and the finance manager Charlie provided the input I needed, and were not pushy in how they went through the sales processed with us. Most importantly the seemed to listen to what we wanted, which was appreciated. I would recommend this dealership, and will consider going back to them down the road again when a new vehicle is needed.

I have had a few repairs done on my 2003 VW Beetle and the service was always up front about costs and need of repairs. They called me a few times to update me on the status of the repair and asked if I wanted to take care of it before doing the repair. Also, they offered me a ride to and from work and even a complimentary vehicle during my service. I was suprised to find that they were even cheaper than the car repairman my family usually goes to. I think they are pretty competitive with most repair shops in the Twin Cities.When I purchased the used car, the convertible top was coming unsewn and one of the tires bulged after driving it for a week. They fixed both free of charge and said that my future business was more important than a few hundred dollars. I would recommend this dealer to anyone.

Scheduled a 7am appointment online and dropped my vehicle off before they opened. I called at 8am to verify that they have started work on my van (this is because they have forgotten to check they key drop box before) and was told that it was checked in but they haven't started to work on it. I asked why and they said that when you schedule an "appointment" it doesn't mean that your car will be worked on at that time. They said that it only means that they will check you in at that time and they didn't know when they would start work on my car. I later found out that they didn't get to my car until later in the day because they were so backed up on repairs due to snow storm over the weekend and people had their cars towed there to be fixed. This tells me that they put other people without appointments in front of my scheduled appointment.If they had any understanding of what customer service was they would have contacted me to tell me that they wouldn't get to my vehicle until later in the day. Instead they left me in the dark and at their mercy.I have decided that I will never use this dealership again or recommend them to anyone that I know. I would rather pay someone to do the scheduled maintenance instead of taking my vehicle to Westside for the free scheduled maintenance.

Now that my car is out of warranty I will no longer have it serviced at Luther and will not buy another Volkswagen. It took them several days to diagnose a problem that, in my opinion, should have been covered under the powertrain warranty. Yet I was charged almost $400 for this diagnosis and a tranmission fluid change, which was not part of the recommended maintenance. I understand that you pay a premium to have your car serviced at a dealer, but $30 for a quart of transmission fluid that retails for $14, plus $100 to diagnose and $200 to change the fluid are outrageous. The other parts/services were similarly overpriced. Brett is well versed in the "us-versus-them" game of dealer customer service. He was professional, but unsympathetic and made no effort toward service recovery to me even after I politely expressed my dissatisfaction. I like my car, but it is a Volkswagen, not a Bentley. They should keep this in mind when setting prices for parts and labor and dealing with customers.

I was very upset with the entire process of even setting an appointment to get my oil changed. I also went in after about 45 days of owning my brand new TDI Cup Edition and they came to a conclusion that they had to order some weather stripping for me and would call me when it came in. A month and 2 weeks had gone by and I found out they got the weather stripping 1 month ago and I never received a call or anything, meanwhile I was having to put up with a very annoying wind noise coming from my driver side door/ window with a brand NEW car!! Had my oil changed there two days ago and drove into the garage stall and got out of my car no one had said hello or even acknowledge me being there. Walked in to talk to a service advisor and there was only one, when he finally freed up after I had been standing there for 5-10 minutes he asked me "did you need help tonight" and I said I have an appointment for a simple oil change. "okay" he said "are the keys in the car?" I replied yes and he mentioned they would get it in right away. While I was sitting in the "VW Lounge" multiple people walked by and would make eye contact and not even say hello. Also while I was looking through their magazine selection all of the sudden I noticed there were at least 3 more service advisors and they were being very loud and obnoxious and unprofessional. Wish I could still receive the great service that I did at Carousel Audi in Golden Valley, MN especially with VW being the mother company of a lot of other great car manufactures you would figure it would start with them no matter weather their cars were thousands of dollars cheaper! Who knows maybe it will change, hopefully it does because I have a lot of upcoming services to do being that I drive about 3,500 miles a month.

I bought a Jetta from this dealer ship 10 years back but the experience is regretted to till this date. It took almost 6 months for this dealer to get the Car I asked for. I asked for Jetta GLS VR6. It was not in stock and the sales person kept pushing me to take one from the lot and that too for higher price. The sales person too $500 in booking fee and would never follow up that I had to call to find the status. I booked the Car on June 2000 and took delivery on November 2000. On the final day of delivery I paid even more because the sales person said there was a steering audio control feature that came with it. My most recent visit to this dealer was on Oct 2010 for diagnosing and fixing a noise from the front of the car. The dealer fixed the wrong thing and charged almost $400. Driving out of the dealer I could hear the noise and I went back the next Morning and I could see from their face they screwed it up but won't agree or work on a deal to fix the issue. They play all kinds of gimmicks. Clever Service and Sales people they are. I would never again goto any Luther in twin cities.

Purchased a 2007 Audi A4 convertible with only 4,000 miles over the internet as we live 200 miles away. We had a trade and came together on a price sight unseen. We worked with Joe as a sales person he is the best we have ever worked with, and we have bought and sold a bunch of vehicles. This dealer ship is one of the best they go out of their way to make sure when you leave you are satisfied.

We had a great experience at VW Westside. I bought a used Passat Komfort. I had two trades and they gave me a very fair trade in price. Jim Stack was second to none in customer service. Buying a vehicle is a long process with lots of paperwork - and surprisingly, we didn't get impatient. Don't know why - maybe it was just the friendly atmosphere and confidence that things were moving along as quickly as humanly possible. Thanks to the folks at VW Westside - you did a great job.

I purchased a Certified 2010 Volkswagen Passat Komfort with DSG last Friday and I love it! It is awesome! Helton Cerqueira is an excellent and personable sales person. There was no pressure to buy. I actually came in to look at a silver Passat I found online, but found a recertified black one that ended up to be a better deal. I truly enjoyed working with Helton. He followed up with me a few days after I picked up the vehicle to see how everything was going and encouraged me to call if I needed anything. I know that he personally took great care to ensure the vehicle was perfect upon delivery.Charlie Guptill in finance was also great to work with. He worked hard to secure the best interest rate he could find and worked up the numbers with every possible scenario so that I could make an informed decision. He is personable and easy to deal with and provided prompt responses via e-mail.

Maura asked me a lot of questions about what I was thinking about and was looking for. After driving several 2011 cars she asked me what I thought about the Jetta Diesel. She told me about the pricing and finance options available on the 2010 TDI. In the end because of that suggestion I purchased a 2010 TDI and I just love it.

I purchased a vehicle from West Side 3 years ago and was lied to about the promises made with the purchase. They promise a full tank, discount gas & in this case free washes and oil changes for life. When I picked up the car they had to take it back to fill it up only at my request. The discount gas card and other discount service coupons were never provided & the oil changes / car washes were ignored. When I called to complain, that sales person was no longer with the company and they would no honor what he promised even though it was in writing.Recently, I brought the car in for warranty service and told them that the CV joints were clicking. To my disappointment, they only replaced the BOOTS and told me that the joints were fine even though you could hear the clicking around corners with all doors and windows closed. The deductible was $100. When I drove the car off the lot, it was still clicking. I brought it home thinking that perhaps the new grease would fix it, but it did not. i returned the car to them and told them that they needed to fix it because I had told them what the issue was the first time. Their tech drove the car and told me that he couldn't hear any clicking. I told him that the clicking is there and they need to drive it again. The second technician then said it had a bad joint. They refused to fix it again without me paying the deductible. I will never return. This review is being posted on any site I can find. It isn't the $100 that bothers me, it's the lack of respect for customers, lack of integrity & lack of honesty that bothers me most.

The service was excellent. I had an idea of which car I thought I wanted, and emailed this info to the salesguy. We were greeted promptly and with friendliness upon arrival at the dealership.I decided to test drive several cars, each of which David, our salesman, gave me a run down on the specifics. After each test drive, the next car was ready and waiting for me to drive, no waiting or fumbling to find the specific car on the salesguy's part. It was a very efficient process, and he was very knowledgeable about each of the cars provided. When I ultimately decided on the 2011 red EOS, the service staff took the car off the showroom floor, cleaned it up beautifully, and had it ready and waiting by the time we finished with the paperwork. The finance guy, Craig, was very pleasant and efficient as well.I was contacted after a day and a half of owning my new car, making sure everything was up to par. The overall experience was fabulous, and I would certainly recommend them to my friends and family.

We recently bought a new passat and are very happy with the car. The buying experience was excellent. David was never pushy but was always able to answer our questions. He was very knowlegeable about the vehicles we test drove and when it came to decision time, he laid out two options for us so we could make the decision that best fit our criteria. David was great to work with.

I wanted to inform you how well I was treated at your dealership with Maura Broucek. I came in to test drive a 2010 Jetta and wanted to get some pricing on the vehicle. Maura worked with us after our test drive and was able to present the price for the vehicle right away. Maura also viewed the vehicle I currently owned and was able to give us a value the same day. I felt Maura was very profession and cared about what our needs were. Maura answered all of our questions on the Jetta and I was very pleased with her service. I ended up purchasing the Jetta a few days after our first visit and I do have to say that I bought my Jetta from Maura Broucek at your dealership because of how she treated us.

Bobby was very friendly and helpful from the start. I called him about a vehicle I saw on the website but it was already sold so we ended up walking around the dealership and found another vehicle that was nearly identical that had not yet been put on the lot. We knew what we wanted before we ever showed up and we intended to do business that day so Bobby got papers ready while we got our trade-ins ready. The pricing was very fair and the values they gave for our trade-ins were close to what we were expecting. Both Bobby, his manager, and the finance guy stayed until past close to work with us and Bobby even got the plates off of one of our cars to keep as a souvenir. I would definitely recommend this dealership for their professionalism and fairness.

I just drove off with a brand-new 2011 Jetta (the first one sold from this dealer!).... This was one of those magical car-buying experiences where absolutely everything fell into place all at once, from trade-in value to my interest rate and monthly payment to the EXACT trim level, color, etc I was looking for. I worked with James Baldwin Jr and he was the perfect sales person I wanted - no pressure, respected my time, helped me get everything I needed. I am surprised and spooked by the service comments on here - this is a really convenient dealer for me so I would hate to truck it across the metro to to another place! So far every person I have interfaced with has been great though. We'll see how it goes but so far I couldn't be happier.

The sales staff were very friendly. We enjoyed working with Carole as she was very informative, went through all the details we needed to know about our new Jetta. After buying our new car, she took us back to the service area where the staff was very helpful in giving us information about hitches for our new car. At no time was Carole pushy, demanding, or rude which we appreciated very much. She is an excellent representative of Luther Westside Volkswagen. She also called us the day after we bought our car to make sure we were enjoying our purchase. We will recommend Luther Westside (and especially Carole)to our friends.

Really like the car I found to replace my old car at Westside. I found this car on the internet and it took me about a week to get the deal made. They also would not commit to what I wanted for my car and I was upset by that. I did make the 100 mile drive on a week night and found it very frustrating experience. I was made to wait at least 30 minutes at a desk with no one coming back to see or talk to me. They also gave me $1,000 less money for my trade then what they promised on the phone and $1,500 less then what I wanted on the phone. They accused me of the car being repainted and bent steering wheel that probably happened at the same time. NO! I have a teenage son who drove the car most of the time and I am sure the bent steering wheel came from the constant pounding on it when he listen to his loud music on the radio! Due to this I had to take $1,000 less and I am sure they will touch up the car and replace the steering for way less hen $1,000 and sell the car at a profit yet. I arrived at the lot at 7:30 and did not leave until after work hours due to waiting around and them telling me about damage that was not true. I ended up buying the car due to all of the time and effort and distance I put into finding the car. The car looks great and I am hoping it will be fine. It is a 2010 Kia Sportage with 11K on it. At least it is under warranty for 60K and I have a very nice dealership in my home town in Wisconsin where I have been servicing my cars the past 7 years, so I won't have to deal with Westside for service as the ratings I have read on line sound very poor and scarey! I hate buying a car and I hate dealers. I guess I am used to it now after all of these years and cars I have bought. I feel the price was good on the new car I bought, but really feel ripped off on the trade in price that they will also make some more money off of me still! My car was a auction car and they already dropped it $2,700 from their first price back in July. So I probaly really did them a favor with both my trade car and my new car. I won't go back again to Westside.

I just purchased my 3rd Volkswagen. My first two were purchased at Burnsville (Steve H. - I actually worked with you on my first one when I was 22 as a referral from Carolyn Svendsen). Since moving north, I have been using Westside for the service on my Passat. I have not had good experiences. Also, we looked at replacing the vehicle 2 times over the course of the past 4 years and we were extremely frustrated with our experiences. The right car for us was on the lot at Westside (I purchased a 2009 w/7K), otherwise we would have taken our business to Burnsville even though we live in Plymouth. That being said - we had a good experiece working with Steve Broucek. He was knowledgable about the vehciles I drove (one was a Honda) and understood where I was with my shopping process during my first visit. He put me at ease by not pushing a sale as I was still doing my research. He answered all the questions I had over email (warranty, etc. and that was my preferred communication versus trying be pushy by calling). When we decided to move forward, he did was respectable during the negotiations process. I hope we have a better experience with this car than we did with the last (from service and reliability) so I can continue to be a life-long long VW driver!

Once we made a decision on a car to purchase, the buying process went well, and we were able to drive away with the vehicle in a matter of a few hours.

Once I had made my decision on the Jetta TDI, he was able to give me several models to choose from. I appreciated his quick response and professional approach.

I just bought a 2010 Lincoln MKX with 21,000 miles. I thought the price was fair and I was treated professionally by Jim Stack the sales person. Overall it was a pleasant buying experience. Jim also researched having a roof rack installed. He obtained prompt answers to my questions and was on top of all aspects of the sale.

Sold me a lemon that they said all problems fixed. Not so in the least. Car used 2 qts of oil in a month, bad shocks (which they said were checked and fine) brakes squeak etc. Walking on the lot no one greated me for a quite awhile. Took me for a test drive of several cars and acted like I wasn't a buyer. Boy was sales person surprised when I called HIM to buy it. I guess they don't think women actually buy their own cars or something! They offered to buyback my lemon but hid lower priced models from me and tried to sell me a car $7000 more than my lemon. Than a week later they actually had a car more in my budget and told me to hurry on in to look at it cuz it just got off the truck tonight. What a surprise when carfax showed they bought it 3 weeks ago. Wow weren't they doing me a favor. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place since I had to buy a car from them or they wouldn't give me my money back for the bad car.I can tell on Google reviews they had a large number of bad reviews which they had false good reviews made up to cover. Please don't ever go to this dealership. This had been my 3rd car from them and they treated me so poorly and unfair I will NEVER step a foot on their lot again. Also VWs very unreliable cars. If you buy one make friends with your service advisor. I know my advisors phone # by heart.

Having just purchased a car over the internet sight unseen I can tell you that the folks at Luther West Side Volkswagen did a great job of dealing with me as a customer. Last Saturday I emailed them a reply off of their web site for a car they had listed as a VW CPO qualified car (extended factory warranty). They responded within an hour and within two hours we agreed to a trade value on my car and had made a deal. I live in Kansas City so i'm 450 miles away. Yes, I did use their Car Fax link and found that to also be very helpful in deciding to buy the car. I had a lot of concern that the transaction would have problems or that the car was not as represented. But infact they car was as represented on their web site. They did everything they could to get me in and out in a timely manner and never at any time did they try to up sell or push anything that I didn't need. They sold their vehicle to me for the agreed trade price and they accepted my vehicle for trade. Mike Tode followed up with me several times and in my view is a consumate sales professional.

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU CONSIDER HAVING WORK DONE WITH LUTHER WESTSIDE VW. I have been to Luther Westside several times to service my 2001 Passat and always felt like the repairs were a little pricey. This past time (which will be my last), I brought my car in because the engine light was on. According to them, I needed a new alternator, some timing belt, and a cap for something that needed to be replaced. Estimate: $1,345...$695 for just the alternator to be repaired! I picked up the car, brought it to a smaller shop and they took care of EVERYTHING (keep in mind they had the work order from Luther, so they made the same repairs) for $645. THAT'S HALF THE PRICE...and less than Luther was going to charge me for just the alternator. Take your car to the Volkswagen Man in north Minneapolis (www.vwman.org) unless you have money to burn on those Luther idiots.

Eighteen months ago, I had warranty work done because I noticed that after driving on the highway for extended periods, my rear wheels were getting super hot & had the smell of burning steel. They replaced the calipers and had to adjust the parking brakes. No one told me what condition the rotors and pads were and I assumed everything was fine. Well, here we are at the 30k service, and I already need new rear brakes; as expected, the front brakes are doing just fine. Not surprisingly, the rear brakes that need replacing are the same ones that had the warranty work done.When I explained this to their customer service manager, I got nothing but excuses from his "excuse bag". First he blamed it on the fact that I only put 5000-6000 miles annually ... "you don't drive often enough so the rotors start to rust and this creates more friction". A complete fabrication since it's not like my car sits unused for 2 weeks at a stretch. Or, it's normal for rear brakes to wear out before the front ... another lie. Then he tried to tell me that it's normal for the wheels to be hot after driving on the highway for 1-2hrs. And so it went.Then they wanted to charge me $500 for the brake job. I was referred to another VW specialist, and it's going to cost me $270.Good ridance!

(I am honestly am not hard to please)I cant tell you how disgusted I was as the salesperson talked down to me their perspective customer. Recently my wife and I decided to buy new cars. She got an Acura RL. For me I thought it would be appropriate to consider a used vehicle. Thats when I met Kip (sp?). After battling traffic and going out of my way to visit West Side VW, I was immediately asked to make a decision whether I was going to buy or not - on the spot. At this point the opportunity to open the drivers door hadnt presented itself hence I hadnt even seen the interior of the car. I went out of my way to see a used Phaeton priced around $48,xxx, my landscaping cost more than that. Someone needs to pull their head out of their asphalt and understand why theyve been asked to stand around and assist customers. Salespeople should be allowed any opportunity to redeem themselves after a stupid comment but the sales-less individual allowed me to walk right off the lot with no further consult. My shopping experience was absolutely disappointing.I thought it would be appropriate for readers like you to know the kind of sales attitude I encountered at West Side VW. There is obviously a sales perception at this facility that a certain number of customers visit for a joy ride, although many dont. Specifically because of this Ill never be back. After reading the other reviews associated with mine I realize Kip did me a favor! THANKS KIP!!

Went in for a motor mount rattling, I was told by the service writer that it's just mud hitting the muffler. Right. When it was still there after they cleaned the mud off the rear torsion beam they told me that it was just the timing being retarded because the knock sensor or o2 sensor were sensing bad gas, the only problem with that pack of lies is my car is a turbo diesel which doesn't have an o2 sensor, or a knock sensor. I don't like being told stories, I decided to replace the failed mount myself even though the car is under warranty. Turning my car that I rely upon for daily transportation over to those story tellers just doesn't sit well with me.
