To the owner & staff at Matthews Chevrolet, Vestal, NY, Your company has lost me as a loyal, financially responsible and frequent car customer. Because I feel as if I have been lied to by your service department and not just once either. Upon going to Matthews Auto Group in Vestal, NY, for a routine yearly inspection, I was told by the service department manager on May 31 2017 at approximately 9: 30 AM (not posting his name), that my lower control arm bushings were torn on both right and left front sides on my 2008 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid. Also the trans cooler lines was also noted as 'leaking'. This was going to cost me a grand total of $1860.00 with parts, labor and taxes. Oh and again my windshield wipers were replaced or it wouldn't pass inspection apparently, costing me $32.00 which is a hardship for me! I have only done gentle driving with my car and approximately 600 miles in one full year (check my mileage). I felt that this car diagnosis was incorrect and bogus so I took my car to another GM certified dealership and without mentioning what Matthews had found asked them to do a total diagnostic on my car. That dealership, which has an excellent reputation and has been in business for over 35 years DID NOT find ANY thing wrong with the lower control arm bushings! In fact I had a third mechanic take a look at the spot that the Matthews mechanic had pointed out to me and the 25 year master mechanic did not find any problems with the lower control arms. You tell me how you would feel! To date I am undecided as to what legal action or public path I will take on this. I have considered going to the news station to report Matthews as a place of business that 'Pads' its pockets with unknowledgeable, unsuspecting, loyal and possibly more times than not, woman customers. I think it is time for a change in this world and honesty with companies like Matthews Auto Group should be the policy not thievery. Ruth Riley

After recently visiting Matthews Auto, I purchased a 2011 Chevy Equinox LT from them. I was first greeted by Peter F, who was very helpful with the whole buying experience. He kept in contact with me through the entire process, and was able to answer any questions I had. Tammi the finance manager was also very helpful in explaining all of the different payment options available to me, and was able to get me a low interest rate loan through Visions Federal Credit Union. The vehicle looked great on delivery, and the one price approach saved me time and effort trying to bargain for a lower price. Compared to other dealers in the area with similar vehicles, this vehicle came at a good price.

I purchased a used car off of the salesman Peter at Mathews Chevy even though he said he was new he was still very helpful just like he had been there for years. He was excellent and made my buying experience very easy. I would recommend anyone that is looking for a new/used car to shop at Mathews because they are an excellent dealer. I purchased a 2012 Buick verano and love the car and the service they gave me before I took it off the lot, they even put new brake pads on the car! Excellent dealer and someone I would buy from again.

It's not very often that you stop and thank your parts guy unless it is -8 and your car starts right up. I was recently in the Matthew vestal location because my car wasn't starting...turns out I just needed a new battery. Shopped all area Chevy Dealers and Matthews Chevy was the lowest price and offered more after the sale with there awards program. Been buy trucks from our local dealer fot 25yrs and Matthews was still a better fit for us and price was way better. Salesman Frank Vallely is the best. Frank Vallely is an outstanding salesman. We actually left our last dealership to follow Frank to Matthews. We feel that we can trust him explicitly. David Reyes is a perfect car salesperson. With the non-commisson program I assume that makes it a little easier for him but for the customer, it is a great thing. Never feel pressure for the sale, always feel a good deal is being offered. Purchased several cars from this dealership and will never buy anywhere else. Recommended many people over the years and always been a positive result. Great product, sorry to see the Saturn go away, but okay with Chevrolet, but by far David is the best. Honest, always follows through, never hesitates to help solve issues.

I would like to thank David Reyes and Tammy Evaninski for their hard work and dedication to me and making this process work for me. The people at Matthews are efficient and knowledgeable. They diagnosed the issue with my car quickly and fixed the problem in very little time. Scheduling the appointment was easy to do. They were able to fit me in at my convenience and offered to provide me a ride if I needed to get anywhere. The people in the garage and in the reception area are friendly and easy to work with. I will continue to go there for years to come.
