I was driving up from Portland and had an appointment, but got to the dealership way earlier than expected. David was super accommodating. He was also awesome to work with. He was not pushy in the slightest and great to work with, he actually connects with you on a human level and didn’t treat me like a dollar figure. If you want a Mercedes you have to go see David. Great customer experience! Had a service appointment and Bill was extremely helpful explaining me what needs to be done and a cost estimate upfront. I had a similar issue resolved less than two years ago and they have fixed the issue at no cost after all. I did not have all the documents with me but they have accepted a scan over email so I did not have to make another trip. Car was ready to be picked up the same day, after thoroughly being washed. Also got a brand new loaner to use while my car was being fixed. Definitely premium experience!!!

I've been to all local MB dealers in the Puget Sound area and purchased cars from all of them, we decided to try out the new Seattle Dealership and were more welcomed than we ever have been. The dealership itself is a show place, state of the art in every aspect and what a way to show off the beautiful Mercedes Benz automobiles. When we picked ours up, it was presented in mint condition, the detailing was spectacular and in an area where we could spend all the time we wanted going over the entire car with our salesman, learning about all the new MB features - it was quite a day, but better yet it was quite the car to drive home in!

I dealt with Teddy Lim in my recent purchase of a new car, and chose this DealerShip due to its reputation in customer service and professionalism.. Teddy showed and emit professionalism from start to finish.. From QUICK AND PROMPT communication, negotiation and delivery of the vehicle.. And aside from that, he was also able to work around my schedule and buying processes.. My buying process was all purely online (conveyed that to him early on), i dont like to deal with the hassel of buying in-person and be told what to do and what I should look at here and there.. Not at any point Teddy was a salesy sales person (professionalism in my book).. I was able to shop at my own sweet time and selecting the vehicle that I like and be left alone.. Whenever I would have a question and would like to get to know more about a particular feature, I would simply text him.. This is where his promptness shine for me.. it was unimaginably quick and creative.. I have dealt with many sales associates in purchasing a vehicle and majority of the time I would get hours of delayed responses or they would simply forget about you.. With Teddy it was quick and simple... He would also inform me whenever he has a guest in the middle of our conversation so my expectation of his replies would not be immediate.. In fact, he would sometimes reply back to me way after his business hours due to my schedule.. I never at any point in the process felt forgotten.. After I have found the car that I liked, I moved on to make an offer to Teddy and the DealerShip.. Bare in mind that majority of the dealership in USA would only entertain an in-person offer, which I completely understands considering many shoppers would shop the price that they get.. I have been in sales my entire life so I respect them and their requests.. It was the case here as well.. I told Teddy that I was solely buying from him (no shopping) due to the ease he has given me and would like a good deal.. It was completely smooth as silk.. I told him the price I wanted (being reasonable, and keeping in mind of Teddy's services) especially with all the information you can find online, and boom, I was able to pick up the car the next day.. In all, Teddy delivered period.. If you are considering Professional Services, this is the place and Teddy is the person to go to.. Make sure as a customers that you do what you say are going to do and not shop around if you would like to be taken seriously..

I have bought a lot of cars in my life and I admit to being a bit jaded through those past experiences. I am used to getting pushed for extended warranties and other options at closing. I expect the dealer sales rep to try and get me into a more expensive car than what I have told him I am looking for. Therefore I was pleasantly surprised when Phil Smart of Seattle exceeded my expectations on my purchase of an ML 350 recently. I told the sales rep, Phil Petty, that I wanted a late model lightly used SUV and he stayed in that genre during the entire sales process. He recommended the car I ended up buying over another more expensive ML that they had on the lot because it suited my needs and my budget. The financing was easy and straight forward. They sold me what I wanted and I love the result. I got a great car at a fair price without hassles. Thus far the service department has been more than accommodating getting me in for a couple of minor adjustments and following up to make sure the repairs were satisfactory.

Had a recent regular service with another Mercedes dealer and was given a very long list of need repairs. I was not convinced that everything really needed immediate attention. I took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who I trusted with another car, and he confirmed most of the needed repairs, as well as several others which had not been identified by the other dealer. I met with Service Advisor Bill Bellecourt and scheduled the repairs. The repairs and service took two days, and I used the courtesy service to get to and from home. Net result: Cost of repairs came in below the estimates, and the dashboard caution lights are all out now. Thanks for the great service experience.Dominic Maricich

I found myself in the unfortunate situation of needing to purchase a car after multiple years without a car payment and previously purchasing pre-owned Mercedes that I knew the life of. I am pretty loyal to Mercedes (should I say spoiled?) and owned a 1999 E320 which is currently close to 200,000 miles and in the care of a dear friend. My current Mercedes is a 2002 E320 and the current repair/replace of the transmission was basically a down-payment on a new car. This was not an easy decision for me as the idea of taking on a new car seemed a bit daunting. Then in steps John Creseto of MB Seattle. A gorgeous pre-owned E350 was on the SEA website at a price that seemed too good to be true. My Dad called the dealership at 8 a.m. to learn more about the car and it's availability and John was on the phone ready to answer all his questions. John was patient and very helpful to the point that my Dad called me and TOLD me to get over to MB Seattle and see this car. I was there the next day. John was amazing and so easy to deal with! I met the General Manager during my visit and it was a warm welcome. The financing was extremely competitive and Amy was a delight to deal with. I wasn't prepared to actually put money down on the car but knew I was buying this car. I didn't have my checkbook with me and with the kindness and care of the dealership, I wrote a check early the next week instead. When I picked up my car it was in the showroom, cleaned, shiny, and my name was on the car. There might as well have been a big bow on top! John has quickly become someone I trust completely and his knowledge of the car is exceptional. I am a newly devoted MB SEA loyal customer and highly recommend you take a moment to visit them before buying anywhere else.

During our recent car-buying adventure, my husband and I were looking at quite a few car options and we took test drives at 3-4 different Audi and Lexus showrooms. The experience at Mercedes-Benz of Seattle was as perfect as it could get and so we ended up buying our car here. We were working with Joshua Benedict on the deal and we had told him in advance that we were looking at other options outside too. He was extremely friendly, responsive and helpful. We were deciding between a C-class and E-class sedan and he willingly showed us both options, discussed the pros-and-cons and helped us make a decision. We also got a good trade-in offer for our old BMW and had a healthy final negotiation conversation with Joshua and the Sales Manager (I think that was Jeff). Overall, we were very satisfied and happy to seal the deal. People here are very welcoming and great to work with. We highly recommend Mercedes-Benz of Seattle for anyone who wants an easy car buying experience.

Cristian Koch was my sales man. Friendly, helpful. Put up with some of my story telling while I was driving the car and waiting for things to get completed. Knew his way around Seattle and could converse with me about Tacoma areas as well. Which is super helpful for someone that does not know their way around like the back of their hand. Some sales people I have test drove with, I had to educate them. Which is not horrible, but can be if I myself am not 100% sure of the area. Dealership layout was ok. Waiting area seemed small. I spent many hours there on an empty stomach, while I would guess they had vending machines somewhere, it would have been nice to have had something in the complimentary waiting room area. I had 3 bottle waters to tide me over. Washroom! Sink is an "invisible sink" which means the water drains back to the wall. What a ridiculously un attractive thing. Standing water on the counter for you to lean over into.The finance officer was friendly enough, though one could tell he was in a super hurry. The guy that appraised my trade in took forever before I could sit down and negotiate. Price for trade in was fair market value. What I paid for the car was "semi-fair" I suppose. I did not walk out of there feeling like I got a great deal. Nonetheless it is done. If you want super deals, I don't know what to tell you. If you want to be treated like royalty, I don't know what to tell you. But if you want a fair enough deal, they will suffice. Folks have had MB for years. The expensive ones. So I am no stranger to the cars. But this is my 1st one. So we will see how it grows on me. So far (2 days later) it has been appreciated. A C-Class 4matic. is a good choice for WA. State. Do yourself a favor, if you can, get a 2013 or newer. While older years have their charms, the engine performance and efficiency are noticeably better in 2013 and newer. The End.

My MB Seattle salesperson was Marius Dediu. I did the majority of my negotiations over the internet and got an unbelievable deal... When my wife and I showed up Marius was there waiting with open arms and a cold drink! (non-alcoholic) The entire process took like 90 minutes and the bulk of that time was test driving and Marius showing all the neat options on the vehicle. The entire staff was terrific and friendly. I also want to mention the extremely attractive finance lady that helped us... Thanks for the 2 Mercedes Benz drinking glasses... I highly recommend MB Seattle and Marius Dediu, been buying cars for over 30 years and by far the best experience I have ever had... After a couple of test drives, he recognized what I was looking for and recommended the E550. As soon as I began my test drive, I knew that was the car for me. Paul was so down to earth and straight forward, I felt as if I was making a deal with my own brother. He explained every aspect of the process so well, that I had no doubt or questions when it was finished. I have been looking (and saving) for the perfect used Lexus GX 470 for nearly a year. I was just about to purchase one from Toyota of Bellevue, but I wasn't treated very well and my gut told me something wasn't right. A GX popped up online here so I thought I would take a look at it (before handing over my money to people who I didn't feel cared at all about what I was getting, just the sale they were going to make). It was white, the last color I wanted, but it looked in amazing condition. I called and spoke to George and went in on Sunday and he partnered up with Anetha, who showed me the car and helped me out, which was awesome because woman to woman we had a lot in common and I felt really comfortable that she wasn't going to steer me in the wrong direction. Long story short, I own a White Lexus GX470, in Blizzard Pearl and I couldn't be happier. It is a year older with 15,000 more miles on it than the Ash Blue Mica one I was looking at in Bellevue. The difference? The service, the people who work here and the fact that if I am going to hand over my hard earned money for a used luxury car, I want to do that with confidence and leave happy. They weren't slick, in fact quite the opposite and owning my own business I would hire these people in a quick second. They made the painful process of purchasing a car a pleasure and I look forward to sending people their way and making my next purchase there.I would always look here first and make your purchase from George and Anetha because you will be in good hands.

So like the review starts, we went to Mercedes Benz of Seattle for a scheduled service of our 2009 SMART car. After dropping the car off we started walking to the showroom area of the dealership. We were met by both a limited edition Coco edition SMART car as well as Brandon Kindle. We approached him, not like other dealers where you feel you are a salesman's prey. After talking to Brandon, very apparent he was well informed and schooled on the SMART brand we ended up in a test drive of the vehicle. Talk about no pressure no hassle salesmanship. We were allowed to take the vehicle by ourselves with a smile from Brandon as he sent us on our way. As we were out on our test drive my husband stated if Brandon was a good salesman he would be working some numbers while we were out. Upon our return, and as my husband thought Brandon had done his homework and had most all the information completed as a proposal if we wanted to purchase the vehicle. Not only were we impressed with this about Brandon, but we we were discussing deals he took our word about another vehicle we had that was not at the dealership and worked some more magic. While we were out ton our second test drive, driving a Mercedes Benz ML 350 Bluetech Brandon again worked his magic and when we came back he had done his homework and had some more numbers ready for us. After some consideration we decided to purchase the SMART and the Mercedes. Not bad for going in for a service and leaving the dealership with 2 brand new vehicles. So what can I say accept I guess it would be a testament to Brandon and his customer service that these sales even took place. Brandon was a true professional and we look forward to building a relationship with him. If you are looking for a SMART or a Mercedes Benz vehicle we highly recommend Mercedes Benz of Seattle and Brandon Kindle.

In the 60 years I have been driving, I have owned 25 cars, purchased in the UK, Malaysia, Germany, Belgium and the USA. I was interested in a new SUV and focused my attention on the ML and Audi. (I had a BMW X5, so wanted a change of pace.) After reading the dealer reviews of the local Audi dealers, I thought I'd start first with Mercedes. Mercedes of Seattle got the best write ups and I noticed that Alan's name kept on popping up with good reviews. I did not know Alan previously, but contacted him. He was very pleasant and easy to work with. One thing I can't stand is the hard pressure sell. Alan was very mellow and easy going on the whole process. Initially, we were not able to come together on a deal that met my budget, but we were eventually able to work something out. I would recommend you ask for Alan if you are in the market for a Mercedes.

I've been meaning to write about my experience with this dealership so far. Let me start by saying I love Mercedes and all it stands for. That said, I have had a less than desirable experience with this dealership.1) When I was looking for a car, I was told that if I leased with you, I would get free car washes for the life of the car and also receive rides to the airport as part of a new service offering. I travel a lot so that meant the difference when deciding between you and the Tacoma branch. Who, by the way, came in $50 less a month and had the color I wanted. Then comes one day where I walked in and nothing was available anymore. I didn't get a "dear John" or a phone call at all. Needless to say I feel like I've been duped. Not only am I not getting car washes anymore but I've been told that the rides to the airport were "promotional" and for "a couple months only." That is NOT what I was told when I signed up and get the distinct impression that since it was in writing, the new ownership just decided to pull it. If you combine all this with the fact that when I leave my car there for service (or when the airport service was available) I get frantic calls asking me why my car was there. Not exactly what I want to hear when I'm traveling. I also had issues with the salesman messing up my lease and making me come back to resign. Not a big deal by itself but in tandem with the rest, it adds up.I have to say, this is my first Mercedes. My friend has one and just loves that car. He inspired me to get one and now, while I like the car, I am regretting buying through this dealership and am starting to realize that it was a mistake. At this point, I'm already in talks with my Girlfriend about moving to another brand of car once the lease is up. They had so many value adds in their favor and right now, I feel like I've been bait and switched and no one seems to care.

My car had been in a accident and the insurance company totaled it out. I know I was going to buy another Mercedes so my fiancee and I started shopping around looking to see who had what. Now I have always dealt with this dealership for my service on the car that had gotten in the accident and had nothing but excellent service from John Shepard, so I figured I would take a look and see what they had there and there she was a beautiful 2013 C300 4Matic love at first site but didn't think I wanted to spend that much so the search continued. Went to a another Mercedes Dealership and boy was the service terrible so back we went and when Kathy stepped in let me tell you she is professional, warm and knows her stuff! And the car that I fell in love with she worked her magic and me and my new girl are together! She took the time to explain everything about that car to me even after the sale was complete, she has followed up to make sure things are running smooth! Very, very poor customer service since dealership switched to new ownership. Dealership had ample opportunity to make a bad situation better but chose to use threats to coerce. Salesman was overly eager to close but ultimately jettisoned good customer sales principal to placate new owner. Completely abandoned his customer. Never in my life have I been so disappointed during a buying experience. Needless to say, I will never positively refer Mercedes-Benz of Seattle to anyone. I have taken up the issue with Mercedes-Benz, USA. I will most likely never own a Mercedes-Benz again. Personally, very sad for me since I dreamt of owning one since I was a child. I will be trading my Mercedes Benz in for another brand, who knows which, as soon as possible. Truly a horrible experience. I think you'll be seeing more and more negative reviews. I wish I had known before I went there.

I am looking for a certified CL and went to the "new" location. Give me an auto broker everytime this place was so dirty and the staff were just hanging out watching tv. The lot was just as dirty as the inside. When I test drove the car their was as much filth on the outside, as well as the inside. I was so dissapointed in Mercedes.

Never got to the ordering process. I contacted the dealership to order/put a deposit on a 2012 AMG model still not yet in production. I had quite a bit of knowledge on this vehicle based on what I have read in several auto publications and via the MB German website, but was hoping to be provided information such as production date, as well as options, colors etc. I wasn't concerned with pricing, but one online review estimated the car to base price around $110,000, which I would be paying for with cash, no financing. Upon speaking to the internet manager, who I had left a message for and for some reason he never got, I immediately felt this dealership was not going to be able to help me. He was unconfident, not very friendly, and had no information about the car available. I understand they only have what they are given by corporate, but he knew nothing about the car and quoted me that it would cost around $200,000! I was fine with him not having knowledge about a production date or available options, but you would think that a sales manager would do a little bit of research once they received my email with my request...it's disconcerting that I had the specs and info. about this vehicle and that one of the managers had none, and to think you will hand a dealership a $5,000 deposit for a vehicle that they know absolutely nothing about. My biggest complaint is what happened after my initial telphone conversation. I was informed during the conversation that I would be required to submit a credit application even though I wouldn't be financing. I agreed to this. However, I received an email accompanying the credit application wanting copies of my driver's license and social security card, not to mention all of my personal financial information, previous addresses, employer etc. I have bought many many cars, and in fact my last purchase was a brand new Mercedes from a dealership in Boston. At no time in any car buying experience have I ever been asked to provide a dealership with financial records of any kind...and I have never financed a car, I have always bought them outright. I emailed the internet manager back asking him, mostly out of curiosity, why they needed this kind of information considering that this was going to be a cash deal. Three days later, and no reply to my email, no phone call, nothing. The lack of communication is inexcuseable to me, especially dealing with the amount of money that is at stake. One would think that a business, if nothing else, would be interested in making money. There are too many dealerships out there to deal with one that doesn't communicate with their potential customers, and bottom line is if I didn't have the funds to pay for the car the dealership would retain the $5,000 deposit, so why be concerned about making sure I have the money when you won't even be placing an order for several months anyhow? Just for some background, and in case the dealership does read this review, my family is VERY wealthy, and have owned several Mercedes-Benz models going back since the time they began importing them to the US. I myself have owned a model from nearly every luxury car manufacturer, and just took delivery of a 2011 Range Rover, and put an order on an as yet unrealeased Aston Martin, both cash deals. As a newcomer to the area from the East Coast, it's unfortunate that my first experience with a business in Seattle has gone this way, and hoping that this doesn't speak for my future car buying experiences here.

When we first met him, he searched the entire country to find us a car, but it was the end of the model year and there just weren't any available. He is the best salesperson to work with - he works hard to find the vehicle you want with the features/colors/etc., that you want and doesn't pressure you settle for something the dealer has in stock.He has done an awesome job following up with us post-sale and always makes an effort to see us when we bring the vehicle into the dealership for service. If we were in the position to by another vehicle, we would not hesitate to call Jimmy, because he would find us the vehicle we want and get us a great deal in the process. If you live in the Puget Sound area and are thinking about a Mercedes Benz, Jimmy is your man!

I have an ML with 297,000 miles on it and an E320 with 145,000 miles. Phil Smart has done all of the maintenance on the ML, and took on the E as a used car that hadn't received the TLC that the ML had received. Needless to say, I am extremely impressed with Phil Smart's service department. They've been very conscientious about cost, and always give me a realistic view of what I should, or shouldn't opt to fix. I've also found that they are very competitive, their prices are the same as smaller German mechanics, and their warranty is much better. I do want to call out Lisa and Les in the service department for saving us a couple of times when our cars had strange issues. They treat a car showing up on a tow truck exactly the same as one with an appointment. Their commitment to customer service, and general kindness is fantastic. I would also like to call out Kathy Walton in sales. She knows we need a new car, and yet she never pressures us, she simply lets us know when there are good opportunities.

Great Exprience buying a car I arrived at the Dealership around 3:00PM, I ask for a car Salesman. I was introduced to Sergey Makhanov, a brand specialist. I had went online the night before and planned the car I wanted, with the options I would like to have. Within 2:45 hours later, I drove off the lot with the car I wanted and with more options and still was in my planned budget. Mr Makhanov was great he made the experience comfortable, smooth, fun. We walked into Phil Smart on Saturday November 13th to look at a 2006 SLK 350 and it was sold to someone else that day. Jimmy was our first contact. The search took 2 months. Jimmy would call once a week, even if it was only to say hello. We bought our first Mercedes on Friday January 21st. Jimmy stayed with us until the transaction was complete. I have very high expectations when it comes to customer service and I must say that the level of service that I received from Phil Petty at Phil Smart Mercedes in Seattle exceeded those expectations. Phil Petty was not only professional, friendly and knowledgeable, but when I left the dealership with my new Mercedes, I felt like I was part of the "family". Phil took the time to make sure that every detail of the transaction was to my satisfaction; he bent over backwards to find the car of my dreams; and his communication with me from day one was very impressive. The entire staff was so unbelievably courteous and friendly, I have no doubt in my mind that I will always go back to Phil Petty for all future purchases, as well as recommend him to my friends and family. There are a couple of Mercedes dealerships that are closer to where I live, however; I plan to drive the extra 50 miles to Seattle for all of my service needs because of the excellent treatment that I had received during my purchase. Very informative about all the cars and options that it has.I like the fact they have so many choices of suvs and in different colors and styles and size. But to our increase in family members, I decided to get the GL, which gave me the most room. They have the best price in town, and I called around. This is what they do. My experience with Phil has always been good. I have been a client of his for 10 years regardless of the dealership but I would say that his location now is ideal and most convenient for me. Phil is knowledgeable about the mercedes product, always has a smile on his face and pleasant attitude and is overall a great salesman. The best part is he doesn't appear as the typical sales person. I came to Phil Smart looking to replace my expiring lease car. Over the next couple of days, Jimmy and Alan spent time understanding my criteria, interests and how I would be using a car over the next few years. After some initial recommendations, Alan and I spent nearly half a day test driving different cars as I started to narrow down my choices. On one test drive we were actually hit by another car while we sat at a stop light. I was particularly impressed by Alan's cool handling of the situation, and the respectful way he dealt with the other driver. Times are tough, so for the first time since I was a kid I needed to consider a used vehicle. I was very relucatant, especially given all of the rumors about poor quality of Mercedes - especially the SUV's. Well I'm pleased to report that in April 2010 I purchased a well equipped 2007 GL 450 with only 32k miles that still had new car warranty left on it (and I got an extended warranty).This is the MOST reliable vehicle I've owned in 25 years! I haven't had to take it in once - not even for an oil change. The new car warranty was about to expire so the dealership contacted me and asked if I needed any service done, but guess what - there wasn't even one thing I could think of so I had to let the new car warranty expire without getting any work done on it. In the history of this vehicle (according to the previous owner) the only repairs it ever had were for a recalled dipstick and a complaint about a squeaky brakes (welcome to German cars).I'm just about to hit 40k and couldn't be more satisfied with this vehicle. We used it every day and sadly are too busy to baby it, so its nasty dirty and gets heavy use with 3 kids but it cleans up nicely with no problem and runs like a champ.This is the best purchase I ever made!!!!This is my third Mercedes purchase from Kathy & Phil Smart since 1998 and the service has always been excellent. I highly recommend them!

Our first contact was with Alan Keith who listened to what we wanted and quickly showed us several vehicles which met our needs. Alan took my wife for a test drive and within a short time we agreed on a price and we were on our way. Not only was Alan quite knowledgeable and answered our questions but I felt he truly was working for us to insure we got the right vehicle to meet my wife's needs. I bought a 10 yr old car w/ 51k miles that was in excellent condition. The price was high, but the dealers reputation being truly exceptional, I said fine. After a week or so with the car it began to exhibit some issues. On being made aware of these, the dealership promptly and courteously handled everything, sending a driver with a loaner car to my home and bringing my car back to be gone over. 1 day later I got a call from the service adviser explaining what had been gone over and what work was actually done.Overall, a very positive experience. There are a couple of things still to be completed that require a special order part, but based on my experience to date, I'm not concerned. Would I buy another car from these guys? Absolutely.

We have purchased numerous cars from Phil Smart Mercedes on Airport Way in Seattle. Richard Schaefer is as good a sales guy as you will EVER meet and he works for YOU. One thing we REALLY like about this dealership is that they really bend over backwards to make you happy. No pressure. Great people from the car wash guys, to the service department, Troy in Finance, Josh the General Manager and especially Richard. They always have a great selection - a couple dozen indoors so don't worry about rain, snow or heat. The prices are extremely competitive, and the experience is very pleasant and actually fun. When's the last time you bought a car and thought it was a relaxing and fun experience?Richard has become a good friend. What does that tell you? On a side note, he's an incredible guitarist with his own recording studio. Not bad for a former commercial airline pilot! Ask for Richard. You'll be glad you did.

We shopped 10-12 dealerships (in 7 states) and on price alone, narrowed the list to two (they were about $75. apart). We decided then to check into the whole service shop aspect of each dealership. Kind of a tie-breaker. We visited each dealership unannounced. We walked around all interior and exterior areas (unescorted) that were available to us. We then spent 30-45 minutes asking questions of an available service representative who provided a tour of the service areas. The other dealership was brand new. It was clean and bright and seemed to have all the latest do-dads. Phil Smart was an older facility, but clean and well maintained. But after careful consideration, it wasn't the razzle-dazzle of the facility that would be paramount to us after the sale; it would be the PEOPLE and their commitment to us after the sale - people like Alan Keith and Jason Kim at Phil Smart. Their "above-and-beyond" attitude thoroughly impressed us. It was evident they weren't just saying canned phrases. They walked their talk. A promis made was a promise kept. Customer service was a bona-fide culture at Phil Smart, not a flashy sales gimmick.To date, we have had limited experience with the Phil Smart staff / dealership. But we have been very impressed with Jason having taken as much time as he did to show us around the service department (closed), and answer all of our assorted service questions. On another visit, Alan stayed after closing to answer our questions and help us weigh out details. They each talked about their families and their experiences at the dealership. In one case we were provided a personal contact phone number in case we had any questions after we left.Now, we are no longer in the new car market. As a direct result of our contacts at Phil Smart - and the polite, friendly, candid and professional demeanor of their staff - we decided to purchase our new Mercedes there. During the whole process, the attentiveness and follow-up has been phenomenal.After the sale, we intend to have our service work done there as well. We're confident the service techs will have the same attention to getting it right...the first time.Our car is due for delivery in March. Finding an honest and reliable salesperson is the real deal-maker. Kathy Walton sold me my first new Mercedes, a 2000 ML, and she still stays in touch! I have bought both new and certified used cars from her and we have been through just about everything having to do with vehicles together. She and the entire crew have earned my complete confidence.Not only that, Phil Smart, Sr is a pillar of the Seattle community and one of the finest individuals I have had the good fortune to get to know personally. Just try to spend an hour of small talk with the actual owner of any other major car dealership! Mr. Smart recently (2009) celebrated 50 years of owning and operating his dealership. I do not know of another with that heritage. And Phil Smart, Jr. is there to keep everything running smoothly if his amazing dad ever decides to pass the wand.The entire dealership is a class act. When you walk into the showroom there are usually no salespeople visible, just a courteous receptionist and a half dozen beautiful vehicles. You can take things at your own pace. If you haven't worked with a female salesperson, I strongly recommend it (but that may just be how good Kathy is). Another trick of mine is to have the sales rep drive the demo while I sit back and listen to the pitch and really take in the vehicle. Works for me.The service departments (two locations) are impeccable and the staff is abundant, courteous and expert. The "garage" mechanics are probably the best trained technicians on the planet. Back in the day I prided myself on servicing and repairing my own cars; not now: there isn't even a dipstick to check the oil!And the parts department will expedite anything needed in record time. This dealership is a finely tuned machine!

From beginning to end, Phil Smart was just a wonderful place. Jimmy was the first sales person I talked to about the car we eventually purchased. Due to successful negotiation, trade-in value, and great customer service, I was able to finalize a deal on a new C-300 4 matic on my first visit within 2-3 hours. The car was delivered in about a week (slight delay due to holiday), but was in perfect condition. Alan was very easy to talk to, gave me a test drive prior to purchase and clearly explained features upon arrival. I appreciated his giving space to decide with family and not being too pushy as I've experienced at other dealerships. Ultimately I felt he was most concerned about my happiness with the car and the price.

Originally I had visited the location on Pike looking for a specific vehicle. I was told the car was at their other location on Aiport Way S. in Seattle. The saleman was supposed to provide me with the address, and never came back. Phil Smart Sr. then came out, was very nice, and told me what the address was. I arrived at the Airport Way location and was greeted by a salesman that would not leave me to look at the cars on my own. I was stuck with him and his sales pitches. After looking around at other dealerships for a few weeks, I knew exactly what I was looking for, and the specs/prices on the other 36 ML350s in the Seattle area. It was absolutely shocking how overpriced Phil Smart's cars were. The condition of the vehicles was inferior to the others- the cars were not properly detailed, and one 2006 model was 11K over some of the comparable cars, also with warranty. The salesman told me he could probably sell this car to me (which I wasn't interested in) for 25K instead of the $34K sale price.... when I asked about the 2008 models I was interested, the salesman couldn't give me a price without leaving me for about 25 minutes to work with his sales manager. The sales manager basically told me that they couldn't give me a price until they looked at my trade in. I asked how much they could sell the car to me for, NOT how much the trade would be. They were full of smoke and mirrors, were everything but straight forward, cocky, arrogant, and extremely rude. The sales manager cost his rep a sale. I walked in (and out) as a single female and was treated like an idiot. The sales manager was incapable of answering any of my questions without B.S.... I'm not an amateur buying, and I know exactly how car sales work- I do similar financing at a regional level for a similar product. The guy should be fired- its salesmen like him that give car salesman a bad name. I can't imagine that Phil Smart Sr. has any idea of the character he has working for him on Airport Way. I'll stick with BMW and will make sure all of my friends do as well.

The referred me to someone who was selling a used 420 SE, and buying something new. I made an appointment for a buyer's inspection at the shop on Pike Street, where I had taken previous MB's thank I had owned.When I called the owner to meet me there, she freaked, and then I got a call from the Service Manager at their airport way shop to bring it there instead.They did the inspection, which left me with more questions than answers (like x-needs to be fixed, but we need more time ($$$$) to diagnose.When I came to pick up the car, they had already given the report to the seller without my knowledge. They also REFUSED To give me any info. about the car, even though they had serviced it.When I called the owner, to negotiate, he said that he would not, and when I said that I had basically paid for a free diagnosis for his car, he said "yup".When I called Phill Smart to complain, they said that since the other people owned the car, they were allowed to see all the info., but that I was not able to see the history.No other dealer does this... EVER.

Beware of this dealer, I wanted to trade in for a lease but had been advise to pay a higher than the regular lease rate monthly charge. Then the sale manager Garry told me is a typo on his computer, and then got back to me on the price that is still worse than the regular lease rate. I would defiinitly NOT buy from this dealer, to me Garry is totally not a honest person to deal with.

I took my Mercedes S500 in because of the air neumatic shock problem. Apparently, my car has been sinking so I took it in to get it fixed and spoke with one of the technicians. He told me there could be a number of reasons of why my car was sinking and that they need to run a diagnostic for $140/hr to see what the exact problem was. At first, they told me it could be the compressor, which was going to cost $1500 to fix or it could be the relay, which costs $53 or the fuse box, which costs $150. After bringing my car in and leaving there for 2 days, they had fixed it, which cost me $492 for the fuse box, relay and diagnostic & labor. As soon as I got in my car and drove it out of their lot, a "break lining" warning light came on. As I kept driving, I started hearing a metal to metal clanking sound under my car that I had never heard before my car was serviced. When I got home, I also noticed that there was fluid leaking under the car and my steering wheel vibrates when I drive it. I called the service technicians back, explaining my problems and they told me to bring my car back in so they can look at it again for another $140/hr for diagnostic! Basically, they fixed one problem and created another. I am very dissapointed in their business practice and level of customer service. I will never take my car back to that place as I have lost trust in the way that they conduct their business.

Did not purchase my car here but the service was fantastic. I have a 2003 SL500 and the top would not close. I called my dealer and they had no repair vehicle and had sent all their technicians home at 5:00pm, totally another story. Called Roadside Assistance and they called Phil Smart after my dealer couldn't help and Barrier of Bellevue outright refused to let their technician take the call. My car was towed to Phil Smart on saturaday afternoon and was repaired by wednesday. The hydraulic pump was gone and they overnighted it and repaired and checked out everything and even apologized for not getting it fixed sooner. That is great customer service. The staff is courteous and very friendly something not seen to often in todays society. Good Job!

I have bought 3 cars from this dealer. My last purchase an 03 G500 has turned into a disaster. After waiting 6 months for a tow hitch, I found found out that you can't turn off the partronic system when you tow. So if you have a trailer behind you, you get an earful of high pitched noises when in reverse. This is a huge safetly problem. I brought this to the dealers attention. They said a fix would be coming out. After waiting 10 months, I finally pressed the issue, resulting in MBUSA telling me they wouldn't do anything about it. http://www.progear.com/mbusa.pdf Phil Smart agreed to in writting to pay for a high end audio shop to install a switch. I then had the audio shop put the switch in and gave Rick a copy of the bill to get reimburst. For the last 4 months they told me they were sending me a check (I have this in emails). After pressing the issue, Rick told me they paid the audio dealer directly months ago. Since the audio dealer is out of business I can't get my money back from them. I am surprised that after 4 months of telling me they were sending me a check, they are now telling me this. Now when I call both the John and Rick just hand up on me. Really poor customer service.
