I recently purchased a Top of the line Toyota Highlander 8 months ago and had a great experience at Middletown Toyota. I made an appointment with sales person on August 26 but when my wife and I walked thru the door we noticed a familiar sales person we had dealt with from another dealership that we liked and started discuss between use that he was now working here. While talking the receptionist rudely yelled from halfway across the room “can I help you “ we end our conversation and walked over to where she sat and informed her we had an appointment with sales person. The place was virtually empty salesman seemed un informed and not interested in selling a car that we wanted. We decided to go somewhere else, expected more from Middletown Toyota.

Update: No surprises, fair, honest. Good service. Jasmine Moore was great. And I commend the owner for not gouging due to supply/availability issues. Much respect. I wish I lived near his franchise. So far, great. And I haven't even been there yet! Found a hard to locate vehicle. No premium pricing as I have seen and found at other Toyota dealers. I look forward to visiting to get my vehicle when it comes in.

The service department is outstanding. The service coordinator worked with me to get the services I needed done. The services were for my 2010 Prius and the 110,000 service was due and it was more than I expected. The service coordinator worked to ensure the key services needed now were done and pushed off the items that could wait till the next checkpoint. He also found savings for me and applied them to my bill.

After the sale went south and we wanted to get our deposit back, our salesman "Sam" started talking crap, and seemed to want to instigate us....disrespectful and was looking for a fight, I had to ask him to get out of my face. We started hearing scraping sounds from the brakes while driving without stepping on the brake pedal. We made a last minute call to the service department-spoke with Ray. He told us they were completely booked but to drop the car off & they would squeeze us in. In a few hours we got a call to let us know they could fix the problem if we left it overnight. No problem-got a call around 8:30 the next morning that our car was ready.Friendly, courteous service with a smile. Thanks again, Ray!!

This was a terrible carbine experience and I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. My car was rear-ended and totaled buy a texting teenager on April 6th, while my husband was in rehab recovering from a very serious operation. The salesman, Bob Magnano, clearly knew he had a desperate customer would not negotiate into my mind made no effort whatsoever to help an older woman in distress it's horrible when people take advantage of others just because they can. Fred cook from Finance was even worse. The car was registered to my husband and he insisted that the only way for me to purchase a new car was to have my husband released from rehab to sign the papers."But Fred", I said, "My husband won't be released from rehab until April 27th." So have him come in on the 28th", he replied. Absolutely heartless. I ended up purchasing the car for cash registering the car in my name and refinancing with my credit union. I had to speak to Fred one more time about the title. This time he actually laughed at me. I needed the title by June 1st. Laughing heartily he said " You'll be lucky to have that title within six months". I asked him if he could help me direct my call to the DMV. "You actually want to CALL them on the phone?" He said still laughing. I had no choice. He did tell me to call the title department in Wethersfield which I did. Within 5 minutes I had spoken to a lovely woman who said my title was processed on the 4th of May and I would receive it within a few days which I did. Sometimes situations like mine arise where the customer is too traumatized to fight back it is a sad commentary to know that there are business people around that will take advantage of that rather than trying to be helpful to another human being I am disgusted by the whole experience.

Your service attendant, Chuck, took great lengths to talk to us, trying to understand the problem we were experiencing with our RAV 4, and to provide as much information to the mechanic. He also followed up with a call to explain what steps were taken to pin point the problem, which unfortunately did not replicate itself for the mechanics. However, it was much appreciated the efforts that were taken and the courtesy given. Hopefully it was a freak occurrence and not a bigger problem.

Absolutely will not budge on their prices, they will not give you a fair trade on your old vehicle even of its a toyota and even if it's on their fancy list of most wanted cars. This dealer is all about the money and they dont understand how to make lasting relationships. I would strongly suggest going to torrington toyota they are the best.

Was going for a night drop off and arrived ~5 minutes after closing. Service manager? stayed open an extra 15 minutes to take me inside and discuss the problem and service required. I appreciate the extra effort.

After my car was done.. I was walking to my car.. I dropped my wallet.. I called the next day.. They said they (EVAN) found my wallet.. Someone went thru my wallet and stole the money that was in there.. Not cool at all.. I was going to by the dealership donuts for finding my wallet.. Despite having first hand knowledge of prices paid by a family member and work colleague for the same exact car in the past 3 months, the salesman insisted that the reasonable price I was asking for was impossible. The salseman refused to negotiate anything less than full MSRP and even suggested that there was zero room for negotiation on the price. A new vehicle is perhaps one of the most well known purchases where you can haggle over the price - for the sales guy to suggest that "you can't haggle anymore" absolutely blew my mind. I walked out, took my business elsewhere and got a great deal on the same car (with more options) for slightly more than what I was asking in Middletown. After this ridiculous experience with sales and several bad service experiences, I will not be returning to Middletown Toyota.

I had a scheduled appointment with the Middletown Toyota Service Dept on Wednesday, Oct 26, 2015. I was greeted by a Team member and he was immediately helpful in getting a battery for my remote starter button. I went up to the Service Desk and was greeted by Bruce Nielsen (Service Advisor) and he was pleasant, answered my questions and his estimate of repair time was spot on! The previous Toyota Dealership I visited in Wallingford could not hold a candle to the professionalism shown by the Middletown Toyota Service Team. My vote for Employee of the Month is Bruce Nielsen.

So I found a very nice Toyota rav4 , on line and made an appointment to go see it I told the sales guy name evan that I work long hours every day and I will get out of work early that day just to go test drive the vehicle, I was planning to buy because it had low miles and clean car fax , I leave almost 30miles from car dealer so while driving there they called me I said that someone was looking at the vehicle I interest in , well to make the story short by the time I got there the vehicle was sold in front of me , so horrible and unprofessional they appointment was not keep as a promise to a customer , and my time and gas was wasted

I had a great experience with George as a salesman. George listened to exactly what I was looking for and respected my price limitations and at no point tried to up sell me to anything I didn't want. He was knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He made the car buying process fun...who ever says that? I'm not confident I got the best price out there for my car, but I am comfortable with what I paid given the good overall experience. My family has been purchasing cars and having them serviced at Middletown Toyota since 1989. I wouldn't consider purchasing a Toyota anywhere else.

This is by far the worst car service I've been to, I called 1 week ago to schedule my car for an oil change. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment. And still they made me wait 2 HOURS, maybe because I declined the $290 extra change for the "supposedly complete check" (they originally quoted me for $45). I spoke with other customer waiting there (we were the last 2 people there) and she was too waited for so long. I will never make the same mistake of coming here ever again!

Fell for the old "Bait and switch" routine. I was lured into Middletown Toyota with an excellent price for a 2014 RAV4. Spoke to Ben Podd concerning a specific VIN and ID number and settled on a price. Went to test drive that specific vehicle and found out it had leather heated seats. I questioned if this was the correct vehicle and Ben stated multiple times that it was. Fell in love and wrote out the deposit check. After a long period of time a manager came over and said - "Sorry, Ben's mistake but wrong car! But I can sell you that car for more money, just let me figure out how much" Knowing this was a bait and switch and another Toyota dealer warned me of Middletown doing this I requested my check back. Ben apologized and showed us the paperwork that stated this vehicle with that VIN was advertized for that price! Called the next day and spoke to manager Joe Klimas. He finally returned my phone call after multiple attempts. Toyota should be ashamed to have a man this disrespectful as a manager. He raised his voice, was belligerent and told me that if I want this car, he will sell it to me with the leather seats removed. He will not accept responsibility for any misrepresentation of his employees. I was warned by other Toyota dealerships and now I plan to warn other customers!

On line quote on the Rav4 beat any offers I had, and when I arrived at the dealership they stood by their quote, no give and take just the best price on the Rav4. They used KBB (condition Fair) to arrive at my trade and I was pleased with the trade in they offered on my 2007 Camry LE. This is the quickest car purchase i have made. They had someone explain the features of my Rav4 and when I left they gave me a small gift to show how much they appreciated my buying from them. Great Experience!!!!!

well where do i start? the girl who answers the phone sounds like she's just THRILLED to be working there, the salesman i dealt with was great, (bob m.) very nice man, cant say enough good things about him. we put a $1,000 deposit down on a 4runner, and realized the next day we could not afford to buy a car at that time. we called to get the deposit back, 4 days went by and still no word. i called again and he said "oh well, sorry not obligated to give it back." now mind you... we had put a deposit down on a Ford and they gave it right back, no hassle. i drove down to toyota, he kept me waiting for 30 min. and when he came down from whatever important things he was doing, he looked like he hadn't brushed his hair in days, and began to yell at me, telling me "if i keep up my persistence, he's going to walk away." i explained very nicely and in tears, i was not angry, but to a single mother with 4 kids, $1,000 meant a lot to me and my children. he responded with "keep it up!" I am DISGUSTED... disgusted that there are actually people with NO heart in this world. awful experience. and the people who worked there agreed with me.

This was the best car purchasing experience my husband and I have ever had! I called around to many dealerships in CT and reviewed many websites before going to Middletown Toyota. I spoke with Mike and Bob over the phone. Both were forthcoming, direct, and honest. I was very pleased that there were no additional costs or "surprises" when we sat down to do the paperwork. Bob Blakeslee was very thoughtful, honest, and knowledgeable. He presented as a man of integrity. Having spoken over the phone and via email prior to our appointment, Bob had the keys ready to the Siennas we were interested in looking at. He first took us to see and test drive the vehicles, explaining the features and differences between the models. Not once did my husband or I feel pushed or uncomfortable. It was a very pleasant, anxiety-free experience! Bob even took care of calling our insurance company so that we could insure the vehicle that same day. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that Toyota of Middletown has its own department that instructs new car owners on the workings of the vehicle from the bluetooth connection to the functionings of the seats. Tammy Vilay was a joy and encouraged me to call her any time with any questions. We received a good, acceptable amount for our trade-in and drove off with our new vehicle that day!

You know what? It's the best car buying experience I've ever had... really. And it was a used car too. Bob Blakeslee, Internet Sales Manager. Yes, in some ways he does exude that stereotypical car salesman persona - smooth, charismatic, makes small talk to soften you up, etc. But at the same time, he knew when to back off. He could see that there were times that I was getting nervous, and had the presence of mind to let me sit and stew over my decisions. Overall, he was exceptionally nice and professional from start to finish. Gas mileage and price were my top priorities, not glitz and glamour. So I walked in expecting a Corolla, but I walked out with a Prius! Bob was willing to take me to the "holding pen," i.e. the lot of traded-in cars that haven't even been inspected and restored by the service staff yet. Amazingly, we stumbled upon a 2004 Prius with a mere 53,000 miles on it. $11,500 was going to be the selling price if sold to the public. We negotiated down to $10,000, which put the car into my budget range. Got 3.19% financing on about 2/3 of that, leaving me with payments of only $210 for 36 months. And it all went down in LESS than 24 hours. Give credit to Marylin the financing gal for that. In tandem with Bob, she helped me secure financing and finalize the purchase at light speed. Even when I found an issue with the car after having it for two days, it was immediately taken care of. The steering wheel alignment was off - not a huge deal, these things can happen with used cars. I stopped by after work for an hour, they did an alignment for free, and I was back on the road with a nearly perfect used car. Showed up at 4:30PM on Friday, drove away at 3:30 PM on Saturday. Beat that, every other dealer ever.

Aurelio is knowledgeable and professional, and throughout the entire purchase process he respected my budget constraints while keeping in mind everything I told him I wanted in a new car. He has a detailed knowledge of new and used car inventory, and he did a thorough job discussing my purchase options while staying within my budget. There were no high pressure sales tactics--just honest and sincere concern for customer satisfaction. Although I had gone to Middletown Toyota to purchase a new car, I left with a certified used car in the current model year that offered me more for my money. I told Aurelio when I first arrived that I wanted a great deal--not just a good deal but a great deal--and he delivered. I love my certified used 2014 Corolla, and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase experience.

My vehicle was in a accident and my insurance company " Allstate" recommend Middletown Toyota Body Shop. Leary because my car is a Honda I still took my Insurance companies recommendations? After meeting the Body Shop manager Jim Zanavich I new I made the best choice for my car repairs . My car looked better then it did when prior to the accident. On top of it they fully detailed my car inside and out. Upon picking up my Honda I also was told by Mr Zanavich that if there is ever a time I need my car washed just stop in and see him and he will run it threw there car wash machine at no cost to me !!!

I can't say enough how much Middletown Toyota is my service choice for my 2008 Scion. I had a major engine issue on a Saturday morning and barely made it to the dealership. Mark was able to helped me right away (despite being a drop in on a busy Saturday) and reassure me that they would take care of the issue. He worked to make sure the issue was covered under warranty, kept in constant communication with me,. and met my service expectations all along the repair process. Middletown sold us a used Rav4 with 17,000 mile that had a transmission issue based on a TSB hard shift bulletin date March 15, 2005. After only 75,00 the transmission needs to be repaired. They refused to work out any compromise to repair the transmission after they told us if we replace the a ECM devise for $1,100 that would take care of the problem and then told us it will cost another $4,500 to replace the transmission Middletown Toyota does not stand up for it's good customers. Beware purchasing a car from them.

I am so glad a few people have given poor review about Joe Klimas the owner of Middletown Toyota. He is very rude and disrespectful. He knows nothing about customer service. He is finding ways to keep my 1000 dollar deposit with some crazy excuse of giving me store credit as if the dealership is Target or Macys. He doesn't know how to treat a customer and people buying from Middletown Toyota should be careful what they are getting themselves into. I will never go there again. The sales person and the Financial person talked me into giving them a $1000 to hold a car and come back the next day to finish the paperwork and now getting my deposit back has been a problem. I wish I had read these reviews before going there. A bunch of scammers. God is going to punish them one after the other.

I've purchased many vehicles in my lifetime but the car buying experience was never as wonderful as it was during my recent dealings with Middletown Toyota/Scion. Curtis B., my sales associate and Riz the General Sales Manager, made the total car-buying journey completely painless for me. Their attention to detail, honest demeanor, professional attitude and willingness to go the extra mile every time they needed to, helped me believe that I would drive out of the dealership with a new car. They were always extremely calm and collected with me, even when I was not with them. Yet, when all was said and done, they managed to get the deal approved for the exact car I wanted and at an astonishingly reasonable monthly payment. On delivery day, Curtis came to my home, picked me up and drove me to the dealership where I was presented with my brand new Scion IQ. The car was perfect in every way at delivery and I left there as happy as a customer could be with Middletown Toyota/Scion. I highly recommended this dealership and especially encourage you to find Curtis B and Riz to complete your sale.

I have purchased three vehicles from Middletown Toyota. Loved my Highlander, but was talked into a Sienna by my salesman Bob Blakeslee. Loved it so much I leased a 2012 Sienna four years later. It perfectly fits our lifestyle and if it wasn't for Bob, I'd still be driving an SUV. Purchasing/leasing a vehicle is a major decision and Julie Olsen made the paperwork seamless. I especially liked having a dedicated person show me all the vehicles features before I drove away. She even programmed my iPhone into the Blue Tooth and added my frequent contacts. I will returning for a fourth vehicle in two years!

I was looking for a good quality car so stop by middletown toyota five years ago. When looking at cars outside on a freezing cold night and i was approached by Ben a sales rep. He walked around with me answering all my questions. After testing driving a vehicle and finding the car I liked with the features I wanted Ben did everything possible to get me in that car for the price i could afford. The car was everything he said it was going to be and more. I recently totaled that car. So now i was looking for another car i went right back to Middletown toyota to see what Ben could do. Ben once again got me into another great car and bargained with the price and exceeds all other car sale men i have dealt with. At middletown toyota they treat you like family/ friend and try to help you not just help there wallet.

Bought a 2013 Hybrid Highlander from Bob Blakeslee at Middletown Toyota. Have purchased several cars from Bob through the years, he has always ensured that our needs are met. He works hard to recognize exactly what we want and meet the needs. We don't like to deal with salesmen giving us the 'works' with big sales pitches. He knows who we are & offers only the new items that he thinks would interest us. Picking up the car was a special pleasure this time - Middletown Toyota offered us a 'pick up' person, who explained all the electronic tools in this car. We have already traveled across country in our new Hybrid - the gas mileage exceeded our expectations, ride was excellent. Would highly recommend this car, the dealership & Bob.

It was a great experience to visit the Middletown Toyota. Specially Internet Sales Manager Jason helped me a lot. He collected all my requirements and keep me updated when any car matching my criteria arrives in their facility. He is very friendly and honest to tell the true facts about the Rav he is selling. I walked into the dealership alone for the first time in my life. I asked to speak to the salesperson I was conversing with . He convinced me there was no harm in taking the car for a test drive. Upon discussing the financials he commented that I mentioned coming back with my husband and basically he was not going to "barter with me" . I was offended and disgusted. I own my own vehicle and it is in my name. I value my husband opinion and would never purchase a car without him checking it first because he knows a lot about vehicles and I fall in love with them solely on appearance. Needless to say I walked out of Middletown Toyota disgusted. I wrote a prior review that I don't see posted . I got a call back from an employee wanting to make the "matter right" but had not heard back from him as he had promised. What happened to my prior review? People should have the right to post the "bad" reviews as well as the good ones. Buyer beware!

I went to the dealer by myself,I researched online and knew what I wanted,what I could afford and what my trade was worth. I walked into the dealership 30 minutes out of my way . I test drove the car I had intentions of being my next vehicle because of reliability and dependability.The car sells itself.The downside was the way I was treated by the sales person. The quote I was given for my trade was well below the quote I got from the manufacturer dealership. The salesman came back and said "We will not haggle with our car price...come back with your husband." At that point I made clear that I was the one who owned and paid for my vehicle. I would like my husbands opinion but I make the decision. I asked what the issue was and never got an answer. Needless to say I purchased the vehicle of my choice from another Toyota dealer.One that did not treat me like an idiot and down grade my intelligence. Middletown Toyota commit to your customers and train your employees on how to be human and respectable employees.

I never write reviews but I felt the need too....I bought a used car about 2 months ago and the service was great the process was fairly good and every one was very friendly and helpful.... Until I bought the car and left. It only came with one key and they had promised me a second one... I had called several times and was always told they will call me right back now two months later and I never got one of my several calls returned. The last time I called I even offered to pay for the key if someone could just order it at this point... Still no call back. Ok dealer would buy from them again but don't leave with out getting every thing u want/need before you pay for your vehicle. A key seems so small but I was promised it and I've been blown off for weeks now.... Where is my key???????

I went in to look at a couple cars I had seen online. neither of the cars I went in to look at would work for me. After talking with Ben about what i needed to find in a car and the maximum i could afford to pay each month he got to work looking for a car for me. One of my requirements was that it has cruise control since i drive thousands of miles a month for work. When he found a car that would fit my price range and payments but didnt have cruise control he was able to actually have it installed for me. Like I said he went above and beyond

As I read Amy T's review I was floored to see that someone else had a similar experience. I rented a car and a week later returned to rent another. The first car was inspected and I was gievn a receipt showing there was no damage done to the car. I was given another car to rent. Two days later I received a phone call saying I needed to return the car I had because there was damage done to the car that I had returned previously. I was told that there was extensive damage done to the bumper of the car. I was told there was no way the damage could go unnoticed. But I did do any damage to the car and it was not notice d when I returned the car and it was inspected. I later received a call from my insurance because a claim was put it. Somehow Middletown Toyota was able to provide my insurance company with papers stating there was damge done to the car with my signature. I never signed any papers acknowledging damage. Not only did they accuse me of damage I did not cause they also falsified documents. They do not have to worry about getting any more business from me.

I never write reviews. However,after the experience I had at Middletown Toyota the other day, I feel like I have to. I bought a Toyota Sequoia there two years ago and have been using their service department ever since. I brought my car to be serviced last week, and I needed to get a rental as Middletown Toyota does not offer loaners. After dropping my car off at the service department, I went to the rental office. After a long period of time, I was given a Prius. Jay,the rental employee, explained to me how to drive the car, had me sign a paper and he got out. We never did an inspection of the outside of the car, and it didn't even occur to me as I was nervous about driving the hybrid. I went off. I had the car for less than 24 hours. The following morning my husband brought the car back to the rental department. My husband told them where the car was parked, and after a few moments the woman working in the rental department came back and told my husband that he had damaged the bumper of the car. She then proceeded to call the manager, who was actually Joe Klimas, the general manager (owner). He said nothing to my husband as he started huffing and puffing walking to the car saying- I can't believe this, all this damage. My husband had no clue about any damage, and now the car was parked in a different spot than where my husband had dropped it off. My husband called me to see if I knew anything about any damage and I stated no- What in the world are they talking about? I asked to speak to the manager and Joe got on the phone. I asked how he was doing and he replied-I don't know, I am looking at $1000 worth of damage. I asked him not to accuse me of anything and told him that I never had an inspection of the car and wanted to tell him my story of how I got the car. He did not want to hear my story, put the phone down and claimed he could not hear me because of bad reception. After my husband waited around some more, they told him they would not make a decision as to whether or not the damage would be our fault until the man who helped me the day before came into work around noon. My husband, too angry, left as he had his own job to do. I decided to drive there because I wanted to make sure that when Jay returned, he was telling an accurate story. I told the rental employee that I wanted to see the owner. She called the owner and he said that he was in a meeting and could not see me. She told me that Jay, who took care of me the day before, would be back in about 15 minutes. When Jay returned, I asked him if we had done an inspection of the car. We are very happy with service we received in Middletown Toyota, with prices we got for our trade-in an on a new car. We are from Stamford and after dealing with Westport Toyota we were very pleasantly surprised at Middletown Toyota. We will most defiantly deal with them again.

I drove 2 hours to look at an advertised Sequoia from Middleton Toyota. I put money down, signed a contract went home to wait for notification when I could pick it up (it needed a factory part before I could take it home). I left messages for a week, without anyone returning them, then after multiple phone calls they admitted they had sold it (one week after I put money down on it). After speaking to the owner (completely disrespectful and a huge jerk) no reparations were made. Still waiting for my money to be refunded. BEWARE MIDDLETON TOYOTA!

This is my second new car I have negotiated over the internet. Believe me it is the way to go, Heather was very to the point, prepared, and wasted no time. I am sure not having to finance helps make the process easier. I think the price for my trade was fair, and the price for my new Prius V was better than Westbrook Toyota gave me. Of course a lower purchase price is better.

My husband and I visited the dealership around 6 pm on the night of 5/24/12 to look at their used auto inventory. My husband found a car he was interested in and decided to put $1,000 down on it. However, after we talked more about it at home, he changed his mind. He called the sales person first thing the next morning and they refused to refund the deposit. IT WAS LESS THAN 24 HOURS WHEN HE NOTIFIED THEM!! I personally went down to the dealership myself because I felt this was incredibly unethical and unfair. When I expressed the fact I felt my husband had been deceived, General Sales Manager Terry Schnurr proceeds to insult me by saying, "The only deception going on seems to be between you and your husband." How disgusting! Needless to say, if you're looking at cars at this dealership, think long and hard before giving them any kind of deposit. I would NEVER purchase a car from these people after this experience.

I found the experience of purchasing this latest vehicle a Tacoma Access Cab Truck to be even more customer friendly than in the past. If you want to be embarrassed, angered, and frustrated, try this dealer. Finance guy was abusive to the point of making me want to leave the dealership. Then the owner of this dealership refused to accept my Credit Union check, even after I offered to leave the car on his lot until the check cleared. I was embarrassed and humiliated by this refusal, because I felt it was directed at me personally. He has SOME good people working there, but mix in the bad eggs and the place is too tough for me to deal with. My advice is that there are lots of other Toyota dealers in the area, so you don't have to deal with this place. If you choose to do so, good luck!

The absolutely worst experience I have ever had in more than 50 years of buying autos.This would have been my ninth Toyota (my first was a 1973 Red M Celica ST), and I had bought six or seven of them using the same Credit Union and the same type of instrument I offered Middletown Toyota. No deal. So I offered to leave the car there until the check had cleared. No dice. And this after spending weeks researching vehicles and dealerships. I thought I had found a great dealership, but it was not so. Therefore, I say to Middletown Toyota: You are the worst dealer I have ever experienced, and I think people who deal with you should watch their backs. One of your people in Finance should be fired for starters...he was INSULTING to me. Too bad some really nice people work for you...you surely don't deserve them. Ben, Julie, and Mark were very kind and tried to make things happen, but you would not even consider this deal. You lose, because I and my friends will not be coming over there anymore. Of course, I live far away in Portland, so you don't have to worry about my feelings. I will not name those who gave me a bad time...you know who you are.

However, I would prefer semi-private rooms/cubicles instead of the open floor plan. I worked with several dealerships prior to this purchase and they gave me the best deal. I would definitely consider doing business with them again and I would recommend my friends to them.

Salesman was very friendly.He spent time with me and my wife showing different car models and price ranges to accomadate are financial needs.The showroom had a pleasant atmosphere.We ended up buying a new Camry Hybrid.I bought my first Toyota from this dealership in 1969,a Corona and another one in 1970,a Corona Mark 2, both cars served me well.Also bought a 1996 Camry, which one of my son is still driving today from the same dealership.

I came down to purchase a used tundra. Bob b was very friendly, helpful, and very informitive. My credit score was awful, however Julie got me a great interest rate. She is also very friendly, even while quitting the butts, keep it up not easy. Marc made the price happen. The most hideous buying experience of my life. We couldn't believe how poorly we were treated. Do NOT BUY ANYTHING from these people. The car was supposed to have gone through a 128-point inspection before I bought it. As soon as I got it home, I saw the rear window was broken, the pain had tiny dings in it, the windows had gaps between the car frame: A lemon indeed! They took it back to fix some issues, but kept it over a month as I was making payments and had no way to drive my new car! They really left us in a lurch. Once they had our money, all niceness and customer service was turned off! I can't believe they are still in business.Climas...whatever his name - was nothing short of slippery, shady and downright mean. SOB! Horrible dealership, sketchy management. Do NOT go here!

He is definitely on top of his game. Julie in Financing was wonderful to work with. I went to the Toyota in Middletown after going to the Toyota in Westbrook because I couldn't find the payment plan I was looking for or the information I needed to make a purchase at the Toyota in Westbrook. Ian Gill was my sales consultant at the Toyota in Middletown and he was very helpful. Ian was able to supply me with the information I needed within the first 10 mintues of my visit at the Middletown Toyota. Ian listened to what I was looking for and got the information I needed in order to make a purchase. I purchased a Toyota Corolla LE 2011 from the Toyota in Middletown thanks to Ian Gill's help. Ian is a great car salesman because he listened to what I needed in order to supply me with the information to make a purchase that day.

Don't shop there for new or used cars!!! I've made an agreement with another dealership to purchase a new Camry and called Bob Magnano of Middletown Toyota to cancel my appointment with him. He talked to his General Manager right away and said theyll sell me the same car with the same MSRP for $500 less. It took me two days to get out of my initial agreement. Bob and his partner Al kept on calling me a few times a day to see if my contract was cancelled and promising they would take care of me and how they need my business. When I showed up at Middletown Toyota they told me that it was only good for that first day. Ive asked to speak to General Manager and he refused?!? Can you believe this baloney?!? Is this the way to run a business in the 21st century?Additionally, they were selling a used car with a clean carfax which obviously was repainted due to bubles in the paint.You can be assured I wont ever step foot in this dealership again and neither are my friends if I can help it.

I made this purchase in response to a promo offering a 1 dollar over invoice price, no hidden fees guarantee, low financing, and the offer of a free turkey gift certificate with a test drive. I do not beleive the dealer lived up to all their promises made on the post card I received from them. This was an awkward buying experience. The free turkey gift certificate was a $10.00 Stop and Shop gift card??? Hard to get a turkey with that. False advertising. I realize I was purchasing a car and the gift certificate may seem trivial but it was indicative of the penny pinching approach by the dealer. The most annoying thing was the one dollar over invoice offer. It is quite easy to obtain the invoice price of any car by doing some research on the internet. so I was very surprised to receive an invoice quote $460.00 over what my extensive research showed. The dealer promised to show the actual invoice, what I was shown was a computer spreadsheet printout. The $460.00 was explained as a dealer advertising cost. Really. No hidden fees? Overall an adequate experience. If this is a typical Toyotathon experience, I won't be back for a second time during such a too good to be true promotion.

When I purchased my 2011 Tacoma I had concerns because I really wanted foglights and was not overly happy when I found out my truck was suppose to be equipped with daytime running lights, not foglights. Even more so after taking delivery when we discovered that my truck did not have the daytime running lights as was thought to have had. Jason and I emailed back and forth and came to an mutual agreement which resulted with my getting the foglights I wanted installed on my truck. Jason went above expectations to make me "his customer" happy. I would give Jason high recommendations.

I had been to several dealerships before coming to Middletown Toyota Scion. I had identified the 2011 Siennas that I wanted on the internet beforehand and had made plans to visit each dealership. Not only did Middletown Toyota end up having the best overall price for me (i.e, the amount out of pocket that I would be paying with respect to the vehicle I was trading in), but it was the only dealership (and speaking specifically about Jason Lady here as my salesperson) who was actually prepared for my arrival. I wasn't made to wait after walking through the door and Jason already had the keys for the car we would test drive ready as well as all the paperwork. Totally, totally painless and efficient. I would also add that all the other dealerships handed me off to someone else (someone different from their Internet Sales specialists) once I was physically in the dealership. At Middletown Toyota, Jason was my contact 100% from cyberspace to real space and was extremely responsive in that role, be it by phone or via e-mail.

We there 8/24/2011 looking to purchase a new Tacoma. They didn't have what I was looking for in stock. A salesman (Bob Magnano), who met me in the parking lot, said "we'll get you one". Inside the dealership he went to the computer, came back and said " what you are looking for will be here in 8 to 10 days". I asked " how much money it would take to keep it until I could test drive it ". He said " one thousand dollars". I put it on my credit card. On 9/12/11, after the 8 to 10, had passed I went to have my deposit returned. Terry Schnurr, sales manager, told me " they were going to keep my money " which they did. After this, I went to another dealership. They gave me the opportunity to test one they had on the lot. I asked if they could get what I was looking for a,d they checked and told me, " the Tacoma would be there in a few days ". That was on 9/28/2011. After another $500.00 deposit, and a few days later, on Saturday, 10/1/2011 I was driving my new Tacoma home.Don't but, or even go, to Middletown Toyota, if you're looking for a vehicle. Don't even go there for service, or to use the bathroom! THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS !!!Frank

The process of buying a car can be very stressful, but I was quite surprised/pleased at how smooth things went. Horrible experience. Although we ended up buying the car, the sales person was never able to answer any questions about our Highlander - which was a demo. "What does the snow button really do? Although it has all-wheel drive, why is there a V6 tag on the back but not 4x4?" Never could answer these questions, but, we bought the Toyota not the salesman. However, I will never buy from or recommend this dealer to anyone.

Well I started out by sending in an email request for a 2011 RAV4-V6-Sport. I received an email response back from Heather Katuzney. She answered my questions and gave me a good price on the car I was asking about. So I stopped by to test drive the car. She was very friendly and easy to talk to. After the test drive we sat down to talk price. They did not have the color car I wanted on the lot which is hard to find. She said she could find me the color I wanted. I was not ready to buy yet so I left. Well I went and checked out some other cars and still wanted the RAV4. I sent Heather an email on Thursday (her day off) which she replied back to. I stopped by Friday at 10am. We did another test drive. I decided to buy the car and she was going to locate one from another dealer. I asked how long before I would get it. She said a week or two. She wrote up the order and I left at 1130am. She called me an hour later and said I can pick up the new car at 5pm the same day. She had found one locally and even went to pick it up herself. What Service!! I think she went above and beyond to make me happy. I have bought 55 new cars in the last 29 years and this was the easiest purchase ever. I would recommend her to all my friends. This was my first car that I ever bought and I thought the overall experience was good. They were friendly, nice and professional. The only thing that did not interest me that much was when I was applying for the loan the sales person was filling out the sold tag to place on the car already. As an anxious person that made me a little nervous but that is there job, to help make the sale. But by no means should that deter you from shopping there. I would go back to them any day!

Before middletown toyota Nd their staff no one cared or even acted like they cared about a 26 year old kid trying to improve thier quality of life by lowering his payment and gettin a quality vehicle. I just bought my first car (2011 Toyota Corolla S) with Middletown Toyota and couldnt be happier! There are no other dealerships in the Hartford/Middlesex counties that even come close to comparing to Middletown Toyota. Every woman that is looking to buy a car should use Middletown Toyota and ask for Heather Katuzney (sales) and Julie Olsen (finance).Heather Katuzney truly exemplifies customer service and was beyond accommodating, even before I set foot on the lot. She was prompt to answer my questions through the dealers email address (I found this easy to locate on their website). She was extremely informative and knowledgeable about the cars but above all she listened to me and showed me exactly what I was looking for all the while smiling and making jokes to put me at ease. She made finding a car that fit me fun and she helped fit it into my budget as well. What stands out to me the most was that Heather was not only attentive to me but to my cousin (female, 19) as well. I had brought my cousin with me to every dealership I checked out, but Heather was the ONLY sales person that actually acknowledged my cousin, asked her opinion as well as mine, and made sure she was comfortable and I really appreciated that. Since this was my first car I had no idea about financing, insurance, or warranties. Julie Olsen was incredibly detailed in explaining each step and process to me. She was patient in explaining things more than once when I needed her to and like Heather, she made me feel at ease by smiling through it all and not once making me feel pressured. She worked with me to get the paperwork done in record timing so I could hit the road as soon as possible. Best deal i could find was at middletown toyota, had gone to branch toyota but the manager there was a smug nose no deal kind of guy, then dealt with toyota of wallingford, totally un professional, i sent an email to middletown toyota told them what i was looking for, they had the same car that the other dealers had at a far better deal for both my trade and sales. Salesman Jay Lady new what he was doing and as far as i am concerned they will be my dealership and my families for the forseeable future. We were on vacation and received a call that the transmission went on our car. The day after we returned I call Bob Magnano, we have known him for years and trusted he would not tak advantage of our situation. I spoke to him at 10am told him our problem and right away the wheels stared turning. I told him on vacation we rented the Carolla and really liked it,handled well, great mileage, good pickup getting on highways. He had a car in mind described it and I took it sight unseen because we trust Bob. AT 2:30pm my husband and I were at Middletown Toyota. Heather went over the car describing all the options in detail she was great. Joe Bianco in financing made the whole process so easy they had all the paperwork ready he went out of his way to get us a great deal. My husband and I are truley greatful for all the personal treatment we received at Middletown Toyota. Comming from driving a suv for many years I thought I would have an adjustment but after driving a Carolla on vacation I loved it! We have bought many new cars at other dealerships and never have we received the fantastic treatment. They now have new customers and I will refer them to anyone.I am really greatfull to them.

Joe in financing was very good explaining everything. I was given a tour of the facility and was impressed with the friendliness of everyone and the cleanliness of the facility. I love my RAV4 and will not hesitate to recommend this dealer to everyone.

Run, don't walk away from this place. In short, a report has been issued with the Toyota Corporate, the attorney general and the better business bureau. I purchased a "certified pre-owned vehicle" with no accident history on the carfax and was told multiple times on multiple days that the vehicle was never involved in an accident. I even went as far as to request service reports from the dealership, which I have copies of. A week after purchasing I find in the glove box all the previous owners documents on the car. I found a lot of personal documents belonging to the owner with private information. Within the documents, there was a police report stating the car had rear end damage and after further research we find out the car was repaired at Middletown Autobody!!! The car was apparently damaged so bad that the car was towed! We have sought legal counsel at this point and we are moving forward with the process - so my advice is run - definitely don't buy here. Also, there are few staff members that are terrific here and I honestly feel bad that they have to work at such an awful dealership.

Although I had a RAVA 4, Heather took her time to go over all the features of the car. I love my car and I am very happy with the service, the recent renovated of the waiting room is beatiful.

We experienced professional service from the moment we walked thru the doors by Heather Katuzney. She was very friendly, down to earth and caring regarding our decision to purchase a new car with Toyota. We felt like we were friends by the time we had picked up our vehicle. We would most definitely go back to see her again for a future purchase and tell friends and family about our excellent experience. The pick up process with the Steven Katuzney, the finanacial manager was also very pleasant and he was very good also. He took the time to explain every piece of paper we were signing and made sure we completewly understood it all in nterms we could understand. When we asked questions he answered them and then checked to be sure we were comfortable with the information before proceeding further. Toyota should feel lucky to have 2 such amazing employees!!!!

Heather was straight up from go - no BS - best price right out of the gate. I normally cringe whenever I have to deal with a car dealer, but Heather was great to work with. No pressure or sales gimmicks. Where other dealers supposedly were giving me their best price, Heather was able to beat them without even comparing. Plain and simple, she was interested in selling a car. Steve in Finance was also clear and direct - made the finance process pain free.

Heather was great to work with. I started out looking at the Sienna and ended up with a Tacoma pickup after much back and forth. Heather was patient and helpful through the whole process. I got a great trade-in price for my old Silverado and Joseph Bianco was very helpful re: financing and quick turnaround. This is the second car I bought with this dealership in 3 months. From the moment I left my car to walk acroos the yard to enter the salesroom, i was warmly greeted by Sam, asking if he could help me. when I said I wanted to look at the Corolla & Camry, he pleasantly told me about both vehicles - beginning the process of driving both cars, selecting the features and color. The last thing mentioned was price; I wanted to evaluate the price of both cars. Sam suggested the Toyota 0% financing & $1000 price reduction with a $1000 down payment, but I came with another method of paying, When I spoke with Julie, Finance Mgr., she showed me that Sam's suggestion was a "no-brainer" because my monthly cost was reduced on the Corolla by $30/mo. She also suggested that I could buy the TotalCare Pkg. for free, based on the $1000 discount, and still have my monthly payment less than my original other method of payment. So I'm buying my car as a satisfied customer at Middletown Toyota.

Very good experience at Middletown toyota. I worked with heather and Steve in financing. I am loyal to the toyota brand so finding a good toyota dealer was all I needed to do. Heather found what I was looking for and worked with me to get the deal that worked for me considering I have less than great credit. Steve K also helped out with work on my down payment. I am very pleased with the experience so far. I have not had the truck serviced yet, but I will. I expect the service to continue to be as good the sale. I will make another review after the first service. I would highly recommend Heather and Steve and Middletown toyota.

Heather was a pleasure to deal with. I did not feel pressued at all. Bob was nice to do business with as well. I took my 4Runner through a car wash and bent the antenna. I went to the sevice dpartment to look at it and they said I needed to take it off before I go through the car was and that is in the manual. They told me if I wanted a new one I would have to buy it. MY 1999 4Runner had a retactable antenna, too bad the 2011 does not. Overall at at this ponit I am happy with the 2011 4Runner except it doesn't come with running boards standard.

I was approached by sales rep T.k. There was no pressure from him at all into buying a vehicle. Instead he made me relax and helped made my decision to buy a new 2011 camry. He was very knowledgeabel and explained the difference between camry and higlander in which I was interested. Overall it was a great car buying experience without any pressure.

I was informed Heather and Julie that I was concerned about spending 5 or more hours in the dealership as is typical when purchasing a new vehicle and they both did their absolute best to make the experience as painless as they possible could. I only spent 45 minutes going over the vehicle including the test drive and only an hour going over the financing. The truck is perfect, exactly what my husband wanted. I will recommend them whenever I can.

He gave us an excellent price but the highlight was the customer service. This is the second time i have dealt with heather on purchasing a new car. both times she was honest and informative about the vehicles i was looking at. she took the time to make the deal and answer all my questions about the cars and the financing completely. i never felt rushed or like i was wasting my time there. i have toyota dealers that are closer to me in location, but i prefer to deal with Heather and middletown toyota. Heather contacted me within an hour of me filling out an inquiry form on Middletown Toyota's website. My wife and I had a pleasant experience purchasing our 2006 Prius from this dealership and wanted to go back. They happened to have several options within our price range and Heather was very straight forward about what they had on the lot and did not try to sell me features I had already told her I was uninterested in. In the end she worked with us to get a slightly higher model than I was necessary planning on but I could not be happier with our purchase. I love my car and the entire experience of purchasing it through Heather was a good one. If our next car is a Toyota, we will definitely be purchasing it from Middletown Toyota, and Heather has a lot to do with that.

I searched through 5 Toyota dealers in the state. All of them wasted my time! I found Heather on the internet and she e-mailed me the information about the car and a price that was thousands below other dealers right off the bat. The dealer made me a fair offer on my trade that I could not refuse! I would recommend Heather and Middletown Toyota to anyone who wants to get great service and a great deal! I just picked my car up today and she spent over an hour going over every single option the car had and how it works! She also said to call and/ or stop by if I had any questions! I was in the market for a RAV4 (after having 2 Camrys) and was looking for a salesperson and dealership who would go the extra mile. I had no interest and no intention of spending hours haggling for the best price. I wanted someone who would work with me in a collaborative rather than contentious way. A coworker told me he had bought two cars from Heather Katuzney at Middletown Toyota, and had a very pleasant experience. I went the next day to see her, and within an hour we had settled on a price on the exact car I wanted. She encouraged me to test drive it, which I did, and we set up a time the following week to close the deal. She had the car ready when I got there to sign the final paperwork and do the credit check. She explained all the features, and encouraged me to come back if I had any questions. And she personally followed up with a phone call a couple of weeks later to make sure I was happy with my purchase. I have already given her name to another coworker who is in the market for a new car, and will continue to do so in the future.

This is the fourth Toyota we have purchased from Middletown Toyota and John. He is a great guy that really takes his job to the next level and makes sure you get what you want not what they want to sell you. He goes to bat with management on pricing and makes sure to keep in touch after to make sure you are happy. Iwould highly suggest buying a vehicle from John.

Very pleased with my experience with Heather Katuzney at Middletown Toyota. All interactions both in person and via e-mail were very non-pressured. I was originally looking at the Tacoma and got a great competitive price on the vehicle I wanted. It was not in stock & would have to be brought in from another dealership. Even though this was the case their price was VERY close to a high volume dealership in Massachusetts that had the vehicle in stock. Heather went over the vehicle with me before we took a test drive. She seemed very knowledgeable with the features of the truck and the engine specifics. I asked Heather to get an appraisal on my trade in. The trade-in offer I got seemed more than fair. I told her I would think on it & be in touch. After a few days I decided I may be more interested in the Tundra (due to the incentives offered by Toyota and the roominess of the double cab). I contacted Heather via e-mail to let her know I was interested in getting a price on the Tundra. There was a specific model I saw on Middletowntoyota.com. I requested a price on this truck. The price, again, was very competitive. I told Heather that I could only afford the purchase if they could meet a finance rate that would make financial sense for me. She brought this info to Joe Bianco (finance mgr) and they were able to accomodate my request. Every request that I had was taken seriously and always with a smile from Heather. It was a very low pressure experience and I felt the decision was fully mine. I went there to buy a truck and not have a truck "sold" to me. This is exactly what I got. I couldn't be happier with the service I received.

I wanted to know if it had a particular car in stock for me to come and see. this car was listed on the dealer's website - but i have been burned before -- you go there and they sold the car last week or some such and never updated the website. Anyhow - I ask this sales guy if he has the car for me to see -- he wants to know my name and phone number. i am like - name, fine - phone - no way do i want some sale guy calling me -- so i said - I prefer not to give you mu number. I simply want to know if you have in stock for real - the car that you say you have online. the guy hung up on me. just like that. this dealership will NEVER get my business.

Just bought a new Sienna 2011 from Middletown Toyota. Our salesperson was Heather Sieben and she was great. Priced the car fairly, no haggling, gave me a good value on the trade in without hassle. Had the car ready on time and with everything we had discussed. Took the time to help my wife get familiar with all of the features. Couldn't be happier. I went to the dealership in November 2010 to test drive a corolla. While I was there I found I was also interested in test driving a scion. Both drove well. The sales woman, Heather, explained everything to us in detail including the engine about each vehicle. There was no pressure to buy the vehicle that day. She sent me a detailed e-mail with all the information about the car. As soon as I e-mailed her I wanted the car and wanted to put a deposit down she put a sold sign on the color car I wanted so it wouldn't get sold.

I just purchased my second Scion from this dealership and could not be happier. They have always gone above and beyond to exceed my expectations with every aspect of my car ownership. I can't say the same of other Toyota/Scion dealers in CT. I will reccomend them to anyone I know looking for a great car buying experience.

This is my third Toyota car, buying a new Prius. My 4th car will be a Toyota but not from this dealer. It was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I just got stuck because I put some money down and there was no way for me to get out of it. They were very rude with dealing with this problem of mine and did not inform me of any of the financial details. The salesperson and financing were the rudest people I have met at a car dealer. At one point, I asked him to explain the details of my financing and his answer was, "Do you know how to use a calculator?" He also told me that he can't teach me how to use a calculator. My first visit after buying the car I went to talk to the salesperson and he just ignored me. I feel like I bought my car from Walmart.

Went to test drive 2008 Nissan Frontier. Sales person, whom I dealt with previously was very professional; however the used car sales manager and dealership is not. This vehicle obviously had something wrong with the rear end driveline--it shimmeyed (?), vibrated in the rear above 50, leading me to believe a possibly bent alloy wheel, axle, or possibly tire out of balance (though the tire looked almost new). I explained this and they said, if I bought the vehicle they would fix it, that they couldn't afford to put money into used cars unless they had to. What kind of crap is this? They're willing to sell an unsafe car--unless someone complains? I won't be dealing with them.

Very dissatisfied with the General Managers customer service. He states he has been in the business for 30 years,maybe he needs to retire. Very rude,doesn't listen,I've never been treated with such disrespect. We were quoted four different prices in 5 hours for a oil change and tire rotation. A part was needed were told that the car would be fixed first thing in the morning, needless to say they closed that afternoon without calling us or fixing the car. Dropped the car off on Friday morning 7am didnt get the car back until Monday 9am... =/

This is the worst dealer I ever visited. I met Ian on Tuesday night, and he was rude and insulting. He first wanted to "educate" me on supply-and-demand, which I skipped. Then he claimed that I was wasting his time unless I buy the Corolla at sticker price that night. I am truly surprised that they are even in business!

I had been going to this dealership for servicing my car for the past 3 years. No more! Never going back again.Their service quality has been a complete rip-off. Initially i thought things were just going wrong with my car. But over the past 2 years i've realized that i've paid over $3,500 for the "similar" issue each time. My Check engine light came on, and they fixed it saying that xyz had gone wrong. Then after a couple of month, it came back up and they say not something else has gone wrong. This has now happened 5 times (and $3,500). Each time i'm told that they are not sure what was wrong and would charge me for the vehicle diagnostic test. Each time they came up with a different problem than the first one and told me that the previous fix did not solve the problem, and that we will have to try to fix this second problem too.I don't believe their mechanics knew what they were doing. This dealership is shady and have bad business practices. I would not trust this dealership with anything that they say. I went in to purchase a vehicle and was "talked into" putting a deposit so that they wouldn't sell the vehicle. I was told by the salesman that the deposit was refundable, I asked several times. I thought about the vehicle for 24 hours and decided that it wasn't the one for me. I called to have my deposit refunded. The salesman (Bob) told me that the finance manager wasn't there and that they could do it on Monday (this was a thursday that I called). I told Bob that that wasn't acceptable and wanted my money back, he said he would see what he could do. Bob called me a few hours later to say that the money had been refunded. On Monday I went to Torrington Toyota (who are FABULOUS) and purchased a car, gave a deposit and will be picking it up in 2 days. On Tuesday I found out that the money had not been refunded. I called Middletown Toyota at 7:00 p.m. and spoke to Bob and he said that there was nothing he could do at the time and he would look into it and to call in the morning. I called on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. and spoke to Bob again who told me that my reciept was mailed yesterday (Tuesday) and my money was refunded that day. I was angry and told Bob that he was not honest with me, I felt that Middletown Toyota was being shady and not trustworthy. Bob said that it was out of his control, not his fault and he assumed that they money was refunded on Thursday; Bob also said that it was a holiday weekend and the finance department had other things on their mind. I told him that when it came to my money and him telling me it was refunded that it doesn't matter what weekend it was. I called my bank in the afternoon and the money had still not been returned. I called Middletown Toyota back and spoke to the owner/manager Joe and he said that Bob was not authorized to credit accounts and that he would have to verify what I was saying and see if I was able to get a refund. This shocked me because when I left the deposit I was told that it was completely refundable. Joe said he'd call me back in an hour. I ended up calling him back, Joe told me that the money was refunded on Tuesday and had no reason for why it had not been refunded on Thursday like I was told. He was also unapologetic for what happened. Joe told me that the form I signed said my deposit was non-refundable, even though Bob told me it was. (By the way, by LAW a deposit is refundable. There is a branch of the DMV in Wethersfield that handles claims like this). I told Joe that his salesman lied to me, he was rude, and that I would let everyone I knew not to purchase a car from Middletown Toyota because they are bad businessmen. I felt that Joe was trying to bully me. Joe got upset with me when I told him I was going to contact Toyota corporate and the BBB. Joe insulted me several times and hung up on me. This dealership fits all of the stereotypes of a car salesman, they are sleazy and lie. I would not suggest this dealership to anyone I knew - ever. I have filed a complaint with Toyota. I have never been treated this way by anyone in my entire life. I am still in shock as to how appauling the owner/manager was.

I visited this dealership late last year on a Saturdaylooking for a used Rav 4 V6. The salesman was very friendly and we seemed to have an excellent deal. This is the first time i've purchaned a car on my own so i was a little nervous when it came to the particulars, working with the financial guy. He was not as easy to speak to and i was confused about what the deal would be finally and what i would owe. He brought the saleman back into his office three times and, what was supposed to be a quick visit took alot more time than i had, shortly before the holidays. I told them that i wanted a certain "out the door" price with my car and assumed that the price they gave would be reduced by the cost of my car. I was very frustrated and wanted to speak to my husband so, assuming i had time to cancel the deal, i signed the contract and gave them a $1,000 deposit on my credit card. I didn't want to use my card but the salesman had said not to worry because when i came back to complete the deal with a check for what i owed they'd remove the charge from my card. When i got home my husband saw that they weren't giving me the deal i imagained and that i would actually owe them the whole amount as my car was included in the price they gave me. I panicked and called the salesman that Monday, apoligizing for the misunderstanding and asking for my deposit back. He was very nice and said he'd get back to me. He didn't and i was concerned about my deposit and called a few more times. Finally, I reached him and he advised that I'd be hearing from the manager, which immediately raised a red flag to me. I had a feeling the news was not good. The Manager called shortly after that and he was extremely rude. Unfortunately, i don't recall his name. He said he didn't know what i expected them to do and that i took up his salesman's time and he needed to be compensated for that. I told him that i had hoped he would be a good guy and give me my deposit back and i'd come back after the holidays and work with them on another vehicle. He would not budge and told me he didn't see why they should return my deposit because "they hadn't done anything wrong". I agreed with him that they hadn't and hoped that he would understand that i was new at car buying and didn't understand. He said he'd be happy to apply the $1,000 dollars toward another vehicle, when i came back in. I was so upset. He also said that he didn't understand what his salesman had done wrong and i told him i didn't fault the saleman and that he was very nice. It was my inexperience and my misunderstanding of what the deal entailed. I figured i could talk to my husband and he'd tell me what to do or how to explain it better. Why would he think i'd want to work with them any further? So much for no problem with getting the charge off my card! I did leave a message a few days later and spoke to the salesman, who continued to be very nice and told me he didn't want me to have a bad taste in my mouth over the whole experience. However, since then he has not really following up with me and i really don't think he's operating with my interests in mind. He's very cordial when i've talked to him but there's no follow through. I really feel that they took advantage of me and that they have no incentive to give me a good deal. The really have me over a barrell and, i'd take my business elsewhere but i don't have $1,000 to throw away; not in this economy! I've lost enough already.

Beware Middletown Toyota Service DepartmentWe brought our Highlander Hybrid in for an oil change at 15000 miles. The service advisor showed us an official looking chart explaining many other services "needed" at 15000 miles, including a tune up and new PCV valve. They said it was because the car is a hybrid. The charge for the service was $250 rather than the $25 the oil change cost. We thought this was Toyota's recommendation, and since we had never owned a hybrid before, we believed the dealer. When we got the car back, we read the manufacturer's recommendation, that said we didn't need any of that extra service until 60000 miles. The dealer ripped us off for $225 in service we didn't need. Buyer beware. We will never enter that dealership again, for anything.

I purchased a used car 2003 Nisson Altima from their used car division Middletown Auto Sales. Had the car less than 2 weeks and found out the motor was no good. Dealer refuses to give my money back. Instead took almost five weeks to replace motor with a used one. Four days later we had to return the car because of major problems with new motor. They have no idea when we will get the car back. Worst experience with a dealership I have ever had. The owner Mr.Joe Klimas has not even made an effort to apologize for the inconvenience. Not a very nice man

I signed a purchase order agreement for a scion. Put a 100 dollar deposit down after being told it was refundable. I called the next day to cancel because I felt like I was rushed into a decision because the sales person was trying to make a sale by the end of the month( it was on the 30th). I told them I did not want the car and to refund my deposit back to my credit card. They did not and refuse to do so. I did buy the same car but at a different toyota dealership(LYNCH). They are the best. REFURALS AND WORD OF MOUTH ARE THE BEST ADVERTISING

In April of 2007 I visited Middletown Toyota at the end of business hours on a Saturday where I met Terry Schnurr, the General Sales Manager. I indicated I wanted to put a deposit on a 2005 Tacoma, but Terry suggested I call him on Monday to put a deposit on the car. I called Monday, talked with one of Terry's sales associates who applied my deposit to hold the car. Two hours before leaving to go to the dealership to purchase the car, Terry called me saying they sold the car to someone else who arrived with a check in-hand to buy the truck. What an incredibly dissappointing way of doing business.

They talk of the "signature" but their service was so poor. I went in to check my engine and they told me there was something wrong with the exhaust valve. I ended up paying over $400 to get it fixed and within 2 days, the very same symptoms start to pop up again. I take the car back and now it is some input valve to the exhaust and another $200. Their labor charges are more than the parts themselves and the amount that i have had to pay till now are more than 10% of the car's value itself, and the parts they had to change had nothing to do with the car's major parts.The customer friendliness is zero. The sales manager doesn't know how to treat a customer. He spoke to me as if I was at his mercy. Totally bad experience. I wanted my Toyota Camry to be properly taken care of but I ended up getting a very poor quality service in return.
